Speaker 1 (00:00):
My Lady Brooks has all the knowledge you want. My
birds has how the knowledge you need. My ledgy birds, Yeah,
they have all the works that the whole wild world
want to read. Maliky Birds. Welcome, Welcome, Welcome to Malik's
Book Show, bringing a world together with books, culture and community. Hi,

(00:22):
my name is Malik, your host of Malik's Bookshew. I
spoke last week about Sacred Women the Rights of Passage.
Now this week on my episode, I'm gonna feature the
Wellness war the Man Healed Thyself Wellness Warrior, just like

(00:43):
the women's Sacred Women Rights of Passion. Well the Wellness
Warrior was on fire, electric exciting to see strong black men,
black kings, stepping in to themselves, elevating themselves, coming together

(01:04):
as men, showing strength in unity and bliftment and focusing
on the wellness both money, both mind, body and spirit.
I enjoyed it immensely. You know when I first um

(01:25):
first two days when I went to the event, you know,
I was in jeans and Chief shirt you know, Malay
Books Store T shirt and had my jeans and whatever.
And the men and the women were rolling in there
and looking like kings and queens dress all you know
nice and everything. You know, I came there to sell books,

(01:46):
but I got so much more than selling books. I
was rich by witnessing a brotherhood and a sisterhood, and
I was taking for he Lou. I tended a lot
of events, but this he fit it was fire in electric.
By the third day, I said to myself, I'm not

(02:08):
going back there, no T shirt. You know, smiling is contagious,
Laughter is contagious, Happiness is contagious. Well, you know what
looking like royalty, Dressing like kings and quid is contagious.
I said, I'm stepping into my royalty. I'm coming dressed

(02:31):
to impress. So I put on my ancient African garments
and I rolled up into the spot that evening the
witness the Ascension of the Wellness Warrior, a twelve week
program where they study man, know Thyself and rights of passage.

(02:54):
And I rolled up in there in my ancient African garments,
looking like party and kingship, and I joined my brotherhood
and spirit. And they was praising the fact that I
came strong that day, looked strong that day, and represented
that day. They knew they had an effect on the

(03:17):
people that were attending the event. So hey, I came
to represent that day and I looked good. I enjoyed it.
I was looking forward to witnessing their ascension that day
because the first two days I just saw a commitment

(03:41):
to know thyself, a no excuse attitude to elevate and
do better, a brotherhood and sisterhood dead to me felt
like love in peace and redemped in and resilience and unity.

(04:04):
So sit back and drawing the interviews I was able
to conduct with some of the brothers that has sended
and some of the brothers that are had already ascended
into the Wellness Warrior. But before I do that, I
need to mention that the man heal thyself. The Wellness

(04:24):
Warrior's Journey to Self Mastery is a book that we
carry at Malague Books, and they can be found in
other places around the country. But this book by Supernova
and Queen of Four is a global call to wellness
addressed to men. Each man is prompt to evaluate himself
regarding his activities, to support of his family, and to

(04:47):
do the work he creates and produces in the world.
Within the text are wellness protocols to practice personal development
through daily disciplines. The task are designed to enable strengthening social, emotional,
and spiritual wellness on their journey to self mastery. Within

(05:09):
this book, our methodologies vested in laying out the bridge
between health and manhood in order to inspire greatness. Well,
that's a little book review before I get into the
interviews about the Wellness Warriors. What you're about to listen

(05:29):
to is some of the things said at the ceremony
this particular section, UH, A sacred woman needed some healing,
and the Wellness Warriors came together. Two represent the body
and unity of one mind and one spirit to help

(05:53):
the process of her healing in the things that she
was some wit in her life. You are loved, You
are loving, You are still here. You can always carry

(06:14):
that with you. There's only now. The pass is no
more your future, your path. It's clear you are not

(06:35):
the pain that you. Care free yourself by forgiving others
for the pain that they had them, because that pain
it's not children. Care free yourself by forgiving yourself. You

(06:56):
are great, You're powerful, You should be cherished, and every
man that looks in their eyes should see the beauty.
And it's d h. Most things that are sacred have

(07:16):
an oath and a pledge that is often spoken so
man heal thyself. Wellness warrior has a pledge that I
want you to listen to. As a wellness warrior, each
day I pleasure to honor my health and wileness of
my mind, body and spirit with high varrational vibrational awareness
choices and interactions whether within or outside myself. I mean

(07:40):
conde commitment to my commitments seven and three, six or
five days of the year to defend myself convinced all
toxic foreign enemies that are outside of me, such as viruses, people, places,
and things. I mean condeed commitment to my commitments seven
three sixty five days of years to defend mysel on
against all toxic dovestic enemies are going to all within it,

(08:04):
such as toxic thoughts, toxic habits, and block juice. I
protect myself against all enemies foreign and domestic as a
man here that self well is where because I'm committed
to a personal development and transfiguration demity every day as
a new gift, a new opportunity and a new chance
for a rare quality of life for our tom wellness,

(08:25):
Do self ast me world power or formal del this
next part that I'm gonna share you about the wellness
Warriors ascension ceremony is the affirmations. Now. Affirmations are very
important because it affirms your values and your beliefs. And

(08:46):
you need to have a system put in place where
you constantly and continuously affirmed your pledge, your oath as
well as your goals. And yes, well it's worse a
little bit. I'm sharing with you guys my forgiveness affirmation.

(09:14):
I forgive myself for past failures. I forgive myself for
not showing up in my relationships with armed truth and integrity.
I forgive myself for not honoring my wellness, my life,

(09:34):
and my spiritual growth. I forgive myself for the lack
of focus, ambition, and discipline that has led to poor
choices and procrastination. This journey requires a new version of myself,

(10:02):
and I'm committed to the work needed to obtain wholeness
of spirit. Today I released the old version and embrace
d I two point oh. I'm ideally to the old
self and lived as a new creature. This all firm

(10:25):
and confirmed, Um Alexander and Jamar Franklin. Forgive myself for
not knowing myself. I forgive myself for not showing myself
grace and mercy. I forgive myself for allowing anger to

(10:48):
control them. I forgive myself forgiving the enemy the upper hand. Yeah,
I forgive myself for not being intentional and blaming others
for my experiences. I forgive myself for not forgiving myself.

(11:12):
With this forgiveness, I reaffirm and reclaim my committee. I say,
all week, your brother has been demonstrating a lot of
good frequency, a lot of good energy. You know, I
could feel a brotherhood now. Listen. I got a podcast

(11:32):
it's called Melik's Bookshelf, bringing the world together with books,
culture and community. And I thought spontaneous, I'm just gonna
walk up here and just get y'all experience and and
put it on my podcast. And so hey, I'm recording
right now. So if anybody have anything to say about
the Wellness Warrior experience, I appreciate if you say something

(11:52):
on my podcast. What about you, brother transformation right there,
there's no there's nothing to think about. If somebody is
interested in being a part of this program, it's life changing,
you know. So learning how to love yourself and confirming yourself,
affirming yourself and meeting a group of brothers in the

(12:16):
like mind around the world. It's worth the price of admission. Absolutely. Absolutely.
You told me to come back to you, my brother,
So I'm gonna come back to you. Don't be shot, brother,
Oh I'm not shot. I was gonna give you, the
brothers an opportunity to say anything, uh say something. Part
of me saying being an alum myself, I just wanted
to come out and kind of, as you mentioned, UH,
test the energy of the room, and they're exuding a

(12:38):
lot of energy. That's what it's gonna take to carry
you over. I kind of talked to some of the
brothers to find out where they were from. Uh. Talk
to the one brother that says he's on this quest
with his spouse. My spouse brought me in. So Uh.
All I can do right now is it's multiply Uh.
The person that's going to come from your efforts. So
all I want to say is that anybody has not

(13:01):
h taking the journey, um, actually look into it uh
and pursue it. An opportunity and super Noble will get
you together. Absolutely, come this program as I must. Invaluable brothers.
Man make the decision. Man heal thyself rites of passage.

(13:24):
The experience is worth the investment. You get much more
out of it than you than than than the dollar value.
Don't even don't even question it. The brothers you meet,
the experiences you have, the health you gain, the wealth
you obtain, the information is it's inexplicable. Just do it,

(13:50):
Just do it. I just you know, I can't even
sell books, but I was inspired by your brothers and
the sisters today. You know, just the love and the
brotherhood and the sisterhood and the energy. You know, it's
genuine and so it it overwhelmed me yesterday. I want
to admit it even overwhelmed my wife, you know, because

(14:13):
you know, brotherhood is something that young black men search
for their whole life. It is something that is necessary
and needed. And you know, this is why a lot
of loos get caught up in the games in different groups.
But you know, everyone here is striving to be the
best man and the best person possible. Every sister is

(14:37):
striving to be the best human being possible. And that's
what I witnessed here, man, is that people rather trying
to transform, you know. And I said to myself, I
gotta get I gotta do a podcast on this, you know,
but you know, I wanted to get it from firsthand
because y'all going through this. Y'all read the book and

(15:01):
now you're about to sin, and so I wanted to
get you know your thoughts on this journey and how
it has changed your life. Wellness warrior King Chaos. So
I too am part of a sacred union, sacred family.
My wife is a sacred woman, sacred woman practitioner in
the making. Um, and you know I'm a wellness warrior

(15:22):
who ascended and uh fall of twenty one. Um. We're
here to change the narrative black men under attack and
they labeled us all these different things and we're not that.
This is who we truly are. We just need to
find ourselves. And this program is about finding ourselves and

(15:44):
transforming those brothers and those narratives into kings and the
rightful kings. We are the wellness Warriors, and it starts
with the three piece suit of minded body and in
the spirit, so we are representations of that in this
journey will take you there. So you just have to

(16:05):
submit to yourself and want to do better. We talk
a lot, but the accents will get you there. So
we're men of accent, were men of service, and this
journey has taught us all that. Absolutely that what I'm saying,
my brother, thank you for sharing that. How you doing,
my brother, Do you have any thoughts well? Hey, super
Nova Sloan, Yeah, you know. Um, it's it's man's man's

(16:32):
responsibility is to help man advance. We are each other's responsibility.
Our women are the containers that hold the opportunity for us.
But only we can square each other away. And so
that's one of our meta metaphor affirmations in the training
and the Fraternity of Holistic Wellness is man is man's responsibility.

(16:53):
And so as we go through the rights of passage
to remember who we are and too, you know, get
the tools necessary body minds, spirit, our three p suits
will be strong enough to raise the signal to inspire
other brothers to raise their signal um. And that creates
an opportunity for us to be in harmony and myt
with our sacred women and then our children that are

(17:13):
birth from that in our family and our lineage is
restored as we heal our ancestors hell. And that's the
journey of man healed thatself. But it's it's the The
call to action is man raising his hand to his
self care and wellness. One of our affirmations is no
excuse wellness. So we we were making no excuses that
we must be warriors to fight for our better quality

(17:34):
of health, the better quality of our body, mind and spirit.
And so we are pledging ourselves. As you know, we
find we become warriors of so much things that for
our destruction. So we're calling all the warriors now to
fight for a better quality of a higher mind, a
righteous mind, a worry of of great health and great wealth,
you know, prosperity, emotional healing. You know, we we go

(17:55):
through the training, we help brothers heal the inner child
that was maybe neglected, a view, just been left uncared for.
Those men grow up to be men, powerful men, but
still not self expressed and healed men. So we meet
our brothers and no judgment. This is a nondenominational outreach.
We have brothers from all of the tribes, all of
the religious backgrounds, all the different hues, and we open

(18:18):
our arms to them because we understand that man is
man's responsibility. As we can resurrect the power of man,
we can rebrand a new version of man, not the
what's been sold to us that man has to be.
We can rebrand the concept of man um as an
attributed host of the Almighty of got A Yahweh, of
of of intern of Allah here on earth. No most spook,

(18:41):
no mistery or just doing the real man work. Man
healed ourselves. Let's go, Let's go. And how long did
it take for you to you know, finally didn't get
to this point to accept this. My mom had been
on this journey for a long time. Well she not
even she noted meets to start. She started. She died

(19:01):
at me. I started teaching when I was aged ten.
I had but I had to. I had to teach
tai Chi, I had to teach yoga, and I had
to teach um meditation. I had sixties students and that
was my first deployment. So she said, you have to
do that. So in my journey, I had my ebb
and flows of taking the responsibility. I had my pivot

(19:23):
to the streets and and and kind of got distracted
by that low frequency. And then I returned back sand Colford,
back to myself and my purpose. You know. It took
some time and something of trans something happened in your life. Yeah,
you made that shift back almost got killed and slanging
and banging and hustling. You know that that wake you up,
you know, and and in every minded it shook me

(19:43):
back into original intent. You know how the elders and
UM united me on my purpose very you know, when
I was very small, you know. So then I just
took the time to uh you know again, to man
heal myself, to heal my own self in my own
trauma that that was unseen even though I had parents
that were the work, I was still going through other
rights a bapteis of my own self as a young

(20:03):
man growing up in the you know community. So I
had to address that and heal that, and and and
and have my own testimony of healing myself. And then
that is what I used to UM become a minister
of wellness for other brothers and other sisters on the
journey of being well and warriors. So, you know, it's
a lot of noise out there in the streets and
the community. How do you navigate through all of that, brother,

(20:26):
and how do you encourage other people to stay you know,
focused in stud fast to you know, the mission to thyself.
You must hold this signal. When man knows thatself, he
holds the signal. Once you recognize that you're a host
of the Almighty, and the Almighty comes through you, your
ancestors have access to you and you know that responsibility
and you receive that regardless of whatever is happening outside

(20:48):
of you. You're on assignment. Now, you're something about being perfect.
Some days you're going in, some days you're not as strong,
but you have the tools to always tap back into
your power. And so that's just a commit it that
I having myself, and um I longed to have it
as an example for other men and to meet them
and not just no guilt, no judge, no judge, been,
no guilt, And you don't have to be on the

(21:10):
level I'm at. You can be where you at. We're
gonna strengthen where you at and have you be accountable
that and raised to your higher frequency. And that's what
it's about. With brothers, me brothers where they at, give
them the tools, encouraged them if they're willing, and encouraged
them to continue to with the homies in the street
would say g up to really g up, you know,
thank you, thank you, thank you all appreciate it. Man. Well, hey,

(21:37):
you know, supernooseling, he dropped a lot. But hey, everybody
has or something to offer, because everybody's on their own
individual journey. And I want to hear yours, my brother. Yeah,
wellness warrior Selim and uh, you know, man, healed ourself
for something that was presented to me and called to
me by my wife. She started off as a sacred woman,
and uh she's led the charge and I was and

(22:00):
I was completely resistant. Brother, I did not want to
take part of what she was doing. She was waking
up four in the morning, rising with the sun. She
was creating an altar. She was speaking with our ancestors.
She was taking spiritual baths and encouraging me to do
the same. And all the way I was fighting, I
was resistant. Once I surrendered and actually saw what she

(22:20):
was doing, and I saw the value, and I saw
the change within her and made me want to create
a change in me. So she gave me the information. Um,
she does the work through the program, So we got
a bit of a discount on the on the rate,
and I signed up immediately, and I realized how necessary
the work is, and uh, the man is the black

(22:42):
Man is missing. You know he's missing, and then you
find him through funding yourself. Once you find yourself and
you hear yourself, you can go back and find the
rest of your brothers and you can pull him up
with you. And that's what we're here to do. Here
to find all the lost members of the tribe and
bring them back on back. And that's what I want
to see because I remember on the call, we was

(23:03):
all making excuses of why we weren't doing what we're doing,
and he said, hey, don't don't fall off, fall in
And that's the call. That's the call, and it's the
time is now. It's the time is for willing healing
each other, each everyone it's involved in this transition, this journey,
the Wellness Warrior helped each other. Absolutely. It's a community.

(23:26):
It's a transparency. Transparency. Um, it's no judgment. Brothers come
on there and they open up and they they raw selves.
We can we can laugh, we can cry, we can
tell us about our strengths, about our weaknesses. We're going
through a lot of pain that we haven't healed because
we haven't revealed. And once you revealed, and you can

(23:47):
go ahead and do the healing and that's what we're doing.
That's what we're about, and were ready to spread the
message in the world so we can heal the nations.
And it's up to us as the men. Our women
have got it together. Now it's our time. So you
mean you and that your wife jumped in and you
saw a transition on her journey. You saw a genuine
change and it inspired you. Yes, it cultivated you, and

(24:09):
then you stand signed up for the Wellness Warrior. My brother, Um,
I think they're about to start the program. Um. Oh,
they're taking a picture. I know you might want to
get in the pictures. Okay, thank you, my brother. I
don't want to hold you, but hey, I think you
dropped enough jewels from me. Appreciate everybody's talking about Timey

(24:37):
Nickels made his soul rest in peace. This murder of
Tyree Nichols by five police officers, which happened to be
black in this occasion. Oftentimes we know that these murders

(24:59):
of innocent black people oftentimes are by police is a
white police. In this case, it was five black police
officers in a task force called Scorpion whom beat the

(25:22):
living daylights out of this one individual. Tyree Nichols, which
ultimately from his wounds in the onslaught beating of him
led to him dyane. These five police officers, or what

(25:46):
I call black devils. You don't hear that that often.
But when you are acting other than yourself and living
a life of a beast in a savage and you
are apprehending innocent survelles and beating them senseless, the leads

(26:10):
to their murder. What what what? What? What else is that?
What else is that action? Speak louder in words? What's what's?
What's your actions? This black owned black has to stop.
Any murders need to stop. But this black on black

(26:32):
did we see in the streets? We need to put
us into this. This is unacceptable. I mean, you're speechless.
The video that came out, and it came out rather quickly,
which is unusual the body cams coming out this quick.

(26:55):
But it is what it is. It's out and another
soul was lost because of reckless this wickedness and evil,
this police brutality. Need to stop. They need to stop.

(27:18):
They need you know, this is a form of trauma.
What would possessed five police officers, black police officers to
go on a rampage and beat down this young man,

(27:39):
the lad to his death. Both were possessing them to
do such a thing. It absolutely makes no sense, but
it does make sense because there's black on black being
going on for quite some time. So why would we
should be surprised about the murder of the black lea

(28:00):
saw murdering a black person. You know these police allers man,
some of them, they overseers who use fear and intimidation
in order to reign hell in control of our communities.
This is not acceptable. We cannot allow this to continue,

(28:21):
these white officers and black officers. This police brutality seems
like it's no end to It is one generation after another,
one decade after another, we keep adding more innocent souls
to the list. The community needs a plan of action,
and it can't be just marching up down the street.

(28:43):
It can't be just suing the city and getting some
chump change for the murder of an innocent soul. We
got to formulate some type of strategy where we it's
a plan of action, this strategic and tactical that puts
an end to Blue East brutality. Thanks for listening to
