Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey folks, Lauren Shipping here. Sadly this is not an
update about season two of Maxim Miles, but hopefully there
will be some more news about that coming this fall.
But instead I want to share a new podcast from
yours truly. The show is called Breaker Whiskey and it
releases every weekday. That's right, every day. I've been making

(00:20):
audio drama for a while now, and I wanted to
challenge myself to make an ongoing show that I didn't
have a perfect plan for something I could discover along
the way. That's what Breaker Whiskey is. Each episode is
under five minutes, and while I have an idea of
the larger story points, I don't know exactly where the
road will take me or what will be at the
end of it. So what's it about. Well, in nineteen

(00:44):
sixty eight, two women find themselves in rural Pennsylvania during
what turns out to be some kind of apocalyptic event.
By the time they discovered that everyone else is gone,
it's too late to figure out what happened. Despite not
liking each other at all, the women work together to
SURVIVEX years later, one of them sets out on her own,
driving around the country to find other survivors. This is

(01:05):
her story. Head on over to Breaker Whiskey in your
podcast apps, subscribe and stick around right here to listen
to the first episode. This is Lauren signing.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Off breaker Breaker Channel nineteen. Is anyone reading breaker Breaker?
This is Whiskey, Oh, Whiskey Alpha Romeo. This is Whiskey

(01:36):
Alpha Romeo calling out once again. That's Whiskey Alpha Romeo
currently along, iab breaker Breaker. You know, I just realized

(01:56):
how bad those initials are. But that's the rule, right,
W for East of the Mississippi, Which isn't that a
bit backward? Shouldn't it be W for west anyway? W
for East of the Mississippi plus the initials of your name?
But I mean still war is a bit whiskey, I

(02:18):
guess is okay, that'd be the part of the call
sign that everybody in this area has, so not really specific.
And again it doesn't seem like anyone is here, so
no other W call signs to mix me up with.
So if you are listening somehow, whiskey is fine. I

(02:46):
don't have a number. I don't I technically have any
kind of license actually, but who would be giving them
out right? I mean, in that case. I guess trying
to stick to any kind of convention is sort of
pointless at this juncture. So I could have picked any
old name, But I mean, we all have to hold

(03:09):
on to whatever bit of structure we can to stay sane, right,
And I don't know. I have the pamphlet for this thing,
and it feels like I should follow it to the letter.
You know, this radio has been sitting in our garage
for five years, and this is the first time we've
sent a signal out. I mean we are remote, yeah,

(03:32):
but that doesn't mean that we couldn't. Sorry not we
the first time I've sent a signal out, So Lord knows,
she never did either, and never will. I mean I
doubt you even noticed that this is gone, and she
certainly won't miss it. I mean, she's not gonna miss

(03:53):
anything anyway. Here I am clogging up the airwaves. I'm
pretty sure that's bad etiquette, actually, but if no one's listening,
there is no one to offend. So anyway, like I said,

(04:16):
whiskey alpha romeo along I eight, I'll stand this frequency
for the rest of the day. Signing off
