Money Movers Lee as welcome the one the only Lunell's
to the Money Moves Podcast. Hi, now, I you have
an upcoming Netflix special executive produced by Dave Japell, directed
by Stan Latham.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
This is big, big, big, big big.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Can you tell us about the experience of working project
getting it to networks?

Speaker 2 (02:02):
This is so huge for you and I am so excited.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
Well, one thing about her, I didn't solicit this. I
didn't say, oh, you know, somebody give me a Netflix special.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
Please look at me. I'm fantastic. Put your money on.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
I didn't do that I thought it, but I didn't
do it.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Isn't that manifestation?

Speaker 4 (02:23):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (02:24):
Yes, Dave Chappelle took an interest in me, you know,
through God's plan, and he had sent for me to
come to Yellow Springs. I did and performed, and I
brought my daughter with me. She's my best accessory.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
So how was your daughter?

Speaker 4 (02:42):
My daughter's twenty seven.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
Now, she was twenty five when we first started messing
with Dave on a regular basis.

Speaker 4 (02:51):
So she's able to travel with me whenever I want.
Because she's a professional dancer and she's if she's not
on tour or if she's not doing performances like be
Et Awards, so Training Awards, Grammys and something like that,
if she's not doing that, and she's able to travel

(03:13):
with me. So she went with me she Yellow Springs,
and while I was on stage performing, Dave told my daughter,
he said, I'm gonna get your mama Netflix special and
he said, I'm gonna get a you know X amount
of dollars and all this. Now, as a black mother
or any mother, you can lie to me.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
You can lie to me, you can lie to my friends,
you can lie to my team.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
Don't lie to my daughter.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
So I felt like he might be sincere because he
told her and she told me.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
She's the one who told me.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
So as it turns out, you know, it's a year later,
and I don't know when this is gonna ever. That
drops on Tuesday, September twenty six at all, yes, and
to be streaming forever. And they put a lot of
time and energy and money into making this special break.

(04:12):
We filmed it in Oakland, California, where I was raised.
Sort of a love letty love letter to a city
that don't get a lot of love. And a lot
of my friends were there who have helped me along
the way, who you know, have babysat my kid, who
gave me rides when my car was broke down, who
supported me by tickets, who helped me luck stuff over here,

(04:34):
let me lug stuff over there, let me borrow clothes.
All those people were in the audience and they've been
pulling for me since then.

Speaker 4 (04:42):
So it was very emotional, very very special. It's special
and special.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Then a lot of specials out a lot of them
haven't been special.

Speaker 4 (04:54):
They're good, they're good, but they're just not special.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
But I feel this is really gonna be these special
they has had his fingers locked in mind the whole
entire time, and you know, doesn't do anything without running
it past me. And he's got some other extra little
perks that are coming out. And you know, of course
I'm anxious to see my billboards.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
And there's gonna be billboards.

Speaker 4 (05:19):
Time Square, La Oakland and Las Vegas.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Oh okay.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
First of all, there's so much in there that I
just love. Number One, this nod to where you come
from and not to all the people that helped along
the way, because oftentimes, you know, people get to a
certain level and you forget those days when you're like
I didn't have money to get to an audition and
you were sleeping.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
You know, God knows where to get there. And to
have all those people in.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
The audience, you know, we believed that's something really real.

Speaker 4 (05:47):
Right absolutely.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
And the music at the end, I urge everybody to
wait and watch the credits roll because you know, there's
like a retrospective through my career at the end.

Speaker 4 (05:58):
The music at the end, and this by Gwopola. I
love her.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
We just had her on the show I grew up.
Oh my god, this is the perfect tripectful.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
Yeah, you know from Open too, so.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
Everyone in her you and I might would have been
Sheila Eve who's also from Open, so we really this
is really I'm really really happy about it, really proud
of it, really glad that people are going to be
able to watch it soon, enjoy it at home, you know, drinking, smoking,

(06:36):
straight West coasting, whatever they do, we gonna party.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
I love it. I love a good sit at home,
you know, clothing optional, with a cup of wine, drinking
and laughing.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
It doesn't get any better than that.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
I mean, I love to come to the theater, put
on you know, Mylippi and whatever.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
But there is something about a Netflix at home.

Speaker 4 (06:55):
I think, yeah, during the during the road and we
got very coachorable.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
We got and I mean I can really laugh like
I'm the person that you don't really want, Like my
laugh is not cute, So like.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
When I can, no, I like, no, I welcome those
type of labs. That's music to my ears. I love
the hysterical laugh. I love the laugh that's louder than
everybody else. It's because I know I didn't hit something
in you that made you explode like that.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
That's more than power to me.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
That's like love, like I have stopped people on the
street who I heard laughing about somebody else and gave
them invites and tickets to my show because of their
laugh because I love that.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
Yeah, I have one of those laughs, but like only
a mother could love.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
So I'm looking for something. Yeah, trust me, because it's
just like it's not cool. But okay, okay, so next
look there.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Tell us again where the net when the Netflix special
is going to air, because I want to make sure
we drill this into everybody's heads.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
Tuesday September twenty sixth is when it up officially, of course,
for people who like to get to jump on it.

Speaker 4 (08:05):
You know, eleven fifty.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
Nine on the twenty fifth, I guess by twelve oh
one on the twenty six you can actually watch it.
And I'm gonna have just a small gathering here in
Las Vegas at the at Kimmel's Comedy Club. And you know,
if you ever come to Vegas every Sunday and Monday
at nine thirty, Jimmy Kimmel's Comedy Club is where you
can find me. Behind the link under the big high

(08:30):
roller Ferris Wheel.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
That's where I work. And we're just gonna you know,
I'm proud of it. I don't.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
I wouldn't care if my brothers don't watch it, because
you know, nobody wants to hear baby talking the way
I do. But they're going to watch it, you know,
even if they only watch it once. So it is
what it is. That's another aspect, you know. It's like
I do. I am very explicit in my content. I

(08:59):
talk about what I know about, you know, and my brothers.
You know, I don't like. I don't my sisters can
come kick it with me all the time. I'd rather
not see my brothers.

Speaker 4 (09:09):
I would.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
I would. I feel I have one brother and there's
certain things that I will just never.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
I don't want to know. It's cool, like move right along,
but hey, the rest of the world wants to hear
it and wants to have the belly laugh. Okay, So
I want to ask you a couple questions.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Stand up comedian has obviously evolved over the time, and
you know, we talked a little bit about the pandemic
and how the world shut down and how we were
forced to be stuck in our homes being funny over
social media on TikTok and all this. But you now
did something very special and if y'all have not checked
it out.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
And subscribed to her only fans.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
Renelle has one of the most infamous only fans out there.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
How did you make the jump to get on OnlyFans.

Speaker 4 (09:53):
I'm really too older doing anything like that.

Speaker 3 (09:56):
But what happened was and by the way, look look now,
because I'm gonna take it down by the end of
the year because at the end of the day, you know,
I make more money doing what I do than that,
And my heart's not in it. I'm not a porn star.
I ain't got no business buzzing it open at my
aid for nobody. But what happened was this, So some

(10:18):
people may know that I've been a savage ex fenchy
lingerie ambassador for Rihanna right for maybe about two years.
I got to do the Amazon Fashion show, the whole thing,
me Willow Smith and Paris Hilton and bublah blam. So
when you take the pictures that they're gonna use for advertisement,

(10:39):
you end up with a whole bunch of pictures left over.

Speaker 4 (10:42):
You know, they don't use every picture you take.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
For every shot you see, they're probably one hundred pictures
taken of that shot. So we ended up with all
these great lingerie pictures that are very sexy and very
burlesquy and very nice. And I said, well, what we're
gonna do it? All these pictures? You know, I can't
just have these in my phone. What are we going
to do with them? So I said, well, let's start
the only fans. I'll make it really burlesqui, and we

(11:09):
condumped some of these lingerie photos. I'm the only fans,
and I did that. Then I found out very quickly
that ain't all they're looking for. So then it just
happened to be that I had a lover at that time,
and you know, we had a couple of little private

(11:30):
pictures and I said, well, maybe i'll put these up
because I won't have to really pose for him. You know,
I'm not really posing for him, And so he signed
to release. We were able to do that, and those
were kind of naughty because I had explained it to
my daughter first.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
Because I tell her everything first.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
She hears it from the mama's mouthage.

Speaker 3 (11:53):
Right, And I'm not asking for permission. I'm telling you
what's about to happen.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
Right, because I'm and.

Speaker 3 (12:01):
I'm doing You know, you don't have no student loan,
dat money, so I know what I'm doing financially. So
we dropped a couple of those, and I made a
little bit of content, just a little, you know, some
little titty stuff and my feet. A lot of people
like my feet because I do have beautiful feet. I

(12:21):
don't have no bunions, I don't have no coins, I
don't have no scars.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
We we wait, so, like, I'm going to ask you
a question. So people have to subscribe to your only fans.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
We've got some tasteful, racy lingerie on there.

Speaker 2 (12:35):
Now you put a little to you and your partners.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
Some love making pictures and feet, So like, how much
money are you making off of this? Give me a ballpark?
Is it enough to buy a diamond? Is it enough
to buy lunch at Chick fil A?

Speaker 2 (12:48):
Like? What's the spectrum here?

Speaker 4 (12:52):
It helped me with my down payment on the house
that I'm sitting in.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
Right now, No freaking way the first month or two
because curiosity, you see, curiosity paid off.

Speaker 4 (13:08):
Curiosity killed the cat.

Speaker 3 (13:10):
That kitty.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
That kitty was like.

Speaker 3 (13:13):
Maybe you know it's tapering off now because I'm not
really proud of new content.

Speaker 4 (13:19):
Most people have seen what they gonna see. I'm not.

Speaker 3 (13:23):
You know, my heart's not in it. I don't have
the time. Who's gonna take the pictures? Who am I
gonna bust it open for?

Speaker 1 (13:30):
You know?

Speaker 4 (13:30):
And I want to do it, So I don't want
to do it anymore.

Speaker 3 (13:34):
So I thank everybody for their donations under their curiosity.

Speaker 4 (13:38):
It did come at a perfect.

Speaker 3 (13:40):
Time that only fans built. That money did come at
the perfect time. I think I might have made like
fifty racks, you know, the first month, but it has
definitely tapered off. I still make a couple thousand dollars
a month just out of new people who just want
to see something.

Speaker 4 (13:59):
And of course the people who've heard that I'm going
to be shutting.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
It down want to see before I actually do shut
it down.

Speaker 4 (14:05):
So take a look, take a look gone.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
It's gonna be gone. Once in a lifetime opportunity. Only fans.
Make sure you look okay.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
But I just got a couple more questions because this
is so fascinating, So like what is that?

Speaker 2 (14:22):
So people just will send you a message and be like,
send me a foot pick, Like how much?

Speaker 1 (14:26):
What's the largest amount someone's paid for a picture.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
Of your feet?

Speaker 4 (14:31):
How does this work?

Speaker 2 (14:32):
I'm asking for a friend. Of course, do you think
I got something here?

Speaker 4 (14:39):
I'll tell you got something I don't see.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
No, okay, let me see, let me see if I
can pull up anything to show you. I can't show
you that, okay, okay, so like like look okay, like
if you like see right, then there's like stuff like this, oh.

Speaker 1 (15:05):
Oh, I mean it's very tasteful, but yes, you should
definitely pay to see that.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
Uh huh and some some some other ship but the
uh and then you know, like the lingerie photos, they
were like like this, you fine, fine up in here
like oh you know, but that ain't all you know
that ain't it?

Speaker 4 (15:30):
Ain't all of it. The only reason I did the
foot content on only fans because people were hitting me
in my DM. Looked at your beautiful feed?

Speaker 3 (15:39):
How much would you let me pay you cash app
you to send me some pictures of your feed? Can
you send me a picture of your feet? When you
get a petticoat? It's a big market out there, and
I'm like, well, this is a no, this is a
victimless crime. I ain't got to touch you, I ain't
gotta bust it open. You just want to see my

(16:02):
uh hot nutella on my seed, or I'll put whipped
cream on my seed or honey, just creative.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
Crime that starts with Nutella's victim.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (16:16):
Okay, Well, you guys.

Speaker 1 (16:17):
Better tuning in. Make sure you know she's shutting this down.
So if you this is an easy way for you
to support. It's actually cheaper than Netflix, so I feel
like it's a win win, But you just got to
get in there before it's gone and then it'll be
your loss, your loss.

Speaker 4 (16:36):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
From only fans to a place on the wall of
fame in the Comedy Store in La This is kind
of a big deal, you know, like.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
How do you go from busting and open on.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
Only fans covered in diamonds and nutella to you know,
getting your dues and your flowers on the wall of
fame at the comedy store in La.

Speaker 2 (16:55):
I want to know what does this recognition mean to you?

Speaker 1 (16:57):
And is it something that's specially or is there something
special that's still out there that you hold that you're manifesting.

Speaker 4 (17:05):
Well, yes, there's both. It's very special.

Speaker 3 (17:08):
I credit Guy Tory with helping that happen because Guy
Tory did a documentary about the Comedy Store. There's plenty
of documentaries about the Comedy Store, but there's no documentaries
about the black influence at the Comedy Store, which really
kept the Comedy Store. Which really kept the Comedy Store

(17:28):
open for many years emiss, but keeps a.

Speaker 4 (17:31):
Lot of these books open.

Speaker 3 (17:33):
Is the black comedy, the urban comedy, not just black
Indian comedy night, you know, Black comedy Night, Latin Comedy Night,
Korean Comedy Night, Gay comedy night, you know, the white
folks comedy night. It's just you know, it's okay. But
the specialty nights are what makes the money in the club.

(17:57):
Guy had a night called Fat Tuesday. P hat not
Fat that Tuesday. He would do it every Tuesday night
and it got to be superper popular. There's a documentary
on Amazon about it.

Speaker 4 (18:13):
It was super popular. It was a place to be
It was a place to be seen.

Speaker 3 (18:17):
Celebrities, boxers, movie stars, everybody used to came. Athlet everybody
that Tuesday at the Comedy Store. They did the documentary
about it, and at the end of the documentary, Guy,
I guess had went to the Comedy Store people with
a list of names of people who really deserve to

(18:38):
be on the Comedy Store wall. You know, like said
entertainer had won Emmys, but his name wasn't on the wall,
you know, stuff like this, so they had to. And
I used to go to the club back in the
day and take white out and write.

Speaker 4 (18:53):
My it's that's real.

Speaker 3 (18:58):
I used to get that that white out liquid because
I used to be a forger back in my day,
so I kept all different colors of white out so
I could alter checks and ship. But I used to
have white about that because it was all criminals. You're right,

(19:19):
I don't want to get nobody knows. I don't want
to get nobody know tips on how to be a criminals.
So but I got them. I got plenty of too.
But uh so, now our name is on the wall.
It's a it's a really huge honor. I don't get
to play the Comedy Store as often as I would
like because of my travel schedule and my relocation in

(19:39):
Las Vegas. However, I am gonna be at the Comedy
Store in Los Angeles on October. I believe it's the eleventh.
October eleventh, I'll be at the Comedy Store, and so
that will be a fun thing to do. Probably one
of the few times I've performed there. Since I got
my name on the wall, and and my daughter can
drive by and see my name. When I have grandkids,

(20:01):
they'll be able to come by and see it. I
hope they never tear it down.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
And they can't scratch the waighte off, you know, because
you can scratch that off. It's real.

Speaker 4 (20:10):
Yeah they did. I would come back and my name
would be gone, but not no more so.

Speaker 3 (20:18):
And then, of course, as far as future aspirations, Cat
Williams and myself just spoke at the induction ceremony for
Melbourne Moore who got her a star on the Hollywood
Walk of Fame.

Speaker 4 (20:32):
She's my friend, Cat's friend, and she asked us to
be there.

Speaker 3 (20:37):
Jimmy jam From, Jimmy Gem and Terry Lewis, you know,
it was the commentator, and we were all there.

Speaker 4 (20:43):
Dionne Cole free to pay. Lots of people were there
to more.

Speaker 3 (20:47):
I would hope that, you know, before I get out here,
I might I might too be able to get a
star on the Hollywood Walk of Fames. That would be
you know, you can put that on my on my
on my tombstone, man, sister. I also want to go
back to Broadway since I started in theater before I
ever did film or television. I was trained in theater.

(21:10):
That's why I be on time and stuff like that.

Speaker 4 (21:13):
Yes, so I.

Speaker 3 (21:16):
Hope to go do some Broadway before I get up
out of here too.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
Okay, I love theater. I was never trained in it.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
I just said I was the one that painted all
the sets like those who can't.

Speaker 4 (21:26):
Do Yeah, I had to do that too, did that?

Speaker 2 (21:29):
That was me?

Speaker 4 (21:30):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
So what would be if you could pick, like.

Speaker 1 (21:33):
Your goal role in a Broadway musical, what would you pick?

Speaker 4 (21:37):
Well?

Speaker 3 (21:37):
I don't sing well enough anymore. I used to but
hollering on stage all these years. My voice is about
an octave lower that it used to be. But my
favorite musical is Ain't Misbehaving. And I saw Nel Carter
in that. I would love to do that. If not,
I would love to do the Wiz, which I did
do Whiz before.

Speaker 4 (21:59):
I played Evil back.

Speaker 3 (22:01):
In college when we did it. When I did the
Whiz before. And you know something that's musical and comedic,
you know, of course color purple.

Speaker 4 (22:12):
I would love to do that.

Speaker 3 (22:13):
Be one of those the three women that are like
the little busy body chicks. I like that, you know,
or or or even to play Sofia. You know what
I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (22:25):
So those are.

Speaker 1 (22:27):
Doing I'll tell you one of my favorites one bat
Midler and Patty Lapone always did this role in Gypsy
where she's yes, stage mom, but.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
She's like, you would eat that role? Oh yes?

Speaker 4 (22:39):
And Anti Man Anti Man. Do you know about Auntie?

Speaker 2 (22:43):
Oh you would eat that role.

Speaker 4 (22:45):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (22:45):
I love it. Oh, I know you were theater trained.
I guess that's my bad.

Speaker 3 (22:49):
Y'all. Well, well that that helps me. I think that
anybody that's doing I would say this. I think that
anybody is doing stand up. It would not hurt you
to take some classes in theater because it's only going
to help your stage presence, your confidence, your movement. You know,
if you are performing in the round and you don't

(23:11):
have stage presence, you might just perform this way, but
what about all the people behind you? So you have
to know how to work the stage so that everybody
can get a little bit of you. If you have
a big stage, I just performed with Chappelle at Madison
Square Garden. That was eighteen twenty thousand people. You have
to be able to use this space and not just

(23:32):
be a stick standing right, here little basics. Take the
microphone stand, move it out the way. It's distracting. It's
like a wall in front of you. Relly, hear you
as well. If there's a mic stand in front of
you and people forget to do that little basic thing.

Speaker 4 (23:51):
So you know, there's a few things to spread around.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
I guess for those of you who came to the
conclusion of this episod, you got all the gems because
those are small little things. But I'm telling you you
need to have a master master class needs to get
you the master class of comedy because those are tiny
little tips, but they're real. That's amazing.

Speaker 4 (24:12):
Hell, if they ask me, I do it.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
You know, seriously, master class.

Speaker 1 (24:18):
If you're listening, please make that happen now.

Speaker 2 (24:21):
Thank you so much for your service.

Speaker 1 (24:23):
Thank you so much for like the abs that I have,
because on this side.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
I have three abs and it's mostly from your belly laughs. Like,
I appreciate that. Girl.

Speaker 4 (24:32):
You are a funny You gonna come see me in
Las Vegas? Yeah, see me in Vegas.

Speaker 2 (24:37):
I'm telling you, I will come see you.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
In Vegas if I know you don't have to beg
people to come to Vegas. That's the thing about Vegas.
You don't have to beg they go you in Vegas.

They don't block my life once again.

Speaker 4 (25:12):
For no reason. They do it a lot. They do
it a lot, they do.

Speaker 3 (25:17):
They blocked me right before I was taping and they
blocked me. Now it's a week before I'm about to
do a post about it, and we'll see what happens.
They blocked me, uh for like I told my girlfriend Sad,
I'm gonna beat you up. And I put some laughing faces.

Speaker 1 (25:33):
Like some censorship bs about Oh I understand that's ridiculous.

Speaker 4 (25:39):
Yeah, but review it before you just like that.

Speaker 3 (25:44):
