Speaker 1 (00:08):
Scalable advice for sure, spice, It's time nice low lower
lower lower Lowerllo, welcome to the naughty but nice sham.
Your Headstrom shoes run back in America. So if the
microphone sounds a little bit more crispy today, you are welcome.
Thank you for hanging with me. The last week I
was over in the UK for my dad's funeral. Very

(00:29):
stressful but also very very beautiful. It is good to
be home after all the years that I have worked here,
lived here over thirty years. Now, I've spent more of
my life in New York than in Britain. I feel
like I'm an American. I do have an American passport,
I am an American citizen. But when I came through
customs and that brilliant God said to me, welcome homest Shooterer,

(00:53):
I was like, oh my goodness, I am home. So
it's good to be back. Nought He's joining us every third.
Our dear friend, Mark, Lupo, Libby, are you there.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Luby lewis here? Welcome home, rab Thank you.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Darling, your text, your messages. While I was overseas dealing
with family, really sad moments, but inevitable moments were really appreciated.
So thank you for being a friend. Let's jump into
the show. What time is it, my friends? It is
tea time. So Kim Kardashian is devastated by her mini
series flapp and co stars are hugging her as she

(01:27):
blames herself. So multiple sources are telling me she is
a rattled by this Brian Ryan Murphy, sorry Ryan Murphy miniseries.
It's called All Fair and it has crashed, getting an
unprecedented zero percentage on Rotten Tomatoes. So Rotten Tomatoes is
a great sight. It really gives you an indication of

(01:48):
how these shows are. Some get ninety percent even higher.
I seen some I've never seen a show with zero.
Sources are saying that when Kim found out about that,
when she read the reviews, face dropped. She looked like
she'd been slapped. Now her col starts at major Glenn Close,
Naomi Watts, Me, Seeing Nash, Sarah Paulson, they're all in this,
and they're all supporting Kim. They're not being catty about this.

(02:11):
They've been really, really protective. They got to really like him.
It is easy to dismiss Kim Kardashian, and we've done it. Many,
many times, maybe even on this show, thinking she's a joke.
She's not. She does the work. Is she the greatest actress?
Probably not. I've only seen a little bit of this,
this mini series. It's campy, it's silly. It's exactly what
you want, I think from Ryan Murphy. Let's be honest.

(02:33):
He didn't cast her because she's Meryl Streep. He cast
her because she's Kim Kardashian. She's gonna get a ton
of press, which she did do. We're all talking about it.
I just wish Mark for Kim's sake, for our sake,
the show is just twenty percent better. It's not great.
Have you seen it? What do you think?

Speaker 2 (02:51):
Yeah, it's not great. And you know, I've been mitted
in the show before. I'm a longtime Kardashian watcher, and
I support Kim and all the endeavors. But you know,
sometimes you're just not good at certain things, and I
think this is, you know, proof of that, and you
know it's not all Kim's fault. The script is terrible.
It's over the top, but not in a way that's
kind of fun. It's just it's just so ridiculous. It's

(03:11):
hard to watch and you know, what are you gonna do?
She did the work. She wouldn't promoted the show. She
she big cross promoted on the Kardashians. Everything was there
for this to be a success. And I think ultimately
they're writing the plot wasn't great, and that's kind of that.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Yeah, I don't think Kim let the cast down. Kim,
if you're listening to Loa Loa Low, I know the
Kardashians know you, Mark, they know me, so they could
be listening to this podcast. It's not totally Kim's fault.
What she was given was not very good. It just
wasn't very good material. Everything starts in show business. With
good material, you could be the greatest actress actor in

(03:48):
the world. And if the materials rough, it's gonna be
a rough movie, mini serious here, and so it just
wasn't really thought through. And now some would argue that's
why Kim was hired. She's not gonna get offered Shindler's list.
She's not gonna get offered the really great, great projects.
She's gonna get offered the B list projects. And I
think here though, what's interesting to me is that she

(04:08):
really did try and Glenn Close. That's somebody who should
have an Academy Award. She doesn't nominated several times, but
she's an extraordinary actress for them to accept Kim, and
they really really did. Kim really did her hardest here,
Kim god ashy. Let's face it, she could have made
a movie mini series ten years ago. She could make
an album. She's so damn famous, she has so many

(04:30):
Instagram followers. I really respect that Kim has resisted for
a long time to really get involved in this stuff.
She's known her laying and so she's now trying to
branch out. It hasn't really worked, which brings us to
our pole question of the day. Kim is devastated by
her mini serious flop. It's just not very good. It's
not just Kim's fault. The writing's awful. It's just not

(04:52):
a very good show. She blames herself. Do you think
we will see Kim making anymore? Is this going to
turn her off? When you do something and everyone's so
mean and you don't need to do it, she doesn't
need the money, like she's just going to stop doing
this or is Kim going to carry on? Let's be
honest here, Mark, people have been mean about her for
twenty years. Like this is not new for Kim. She

(05:15):
knows that Hollywood is not a huge fan of hers.
Remember when she we used to get banned from the
met Ball and now she's a star. Never counteract, Kim,
Kim turn around a conversation and part of that naughties
and it's a lesson we all have to learn. Keep going.
Failure is part of the process. In fact, the road
to success, it's paved with failure. Mark, I have failed

(05:37):
so many times, and it's only the fact that I
kept going that made me successful. It wasn't some extraordinary talent.
It wasn't some wisdom, some knowledge that somebody gave me. No,
it didn't happen. I just kept going. I refused to
give in. So part of me hopes Kim just keeps
marching and doing what she wants here. But what do
you think? Will she give up? Yes? Or no? Go

(05:58):
vote on our Twitter page at Naughty Nice rob Our
facebook page is Naughty Gossip. I'm be sure to check
back tomorrow to hear your results. Hey, Loopy, what are
you working on? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Uh oh?

Speaker 1 (06:11):
So.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
Bruce Springsteen is feeling stung by a rare Hollywood flop
as his fans have rejected his fifty five million dollar
bio pick. Let me explain. So, Bruce Springsteen has weathered
stadium storms, industry wars, and aging rock stardom, but this
one is really going to hurt. Sources sell our podcast
that deliver Me from Nowhere. That's the movie is chronicling

(06:34):
the creation of Bruce's brooding classic Nebraska album, and it's
collapsing at the box office, scraping just sixteen point six
million dollars domestically and thirty point eight million worldwide, and
the production budget was fifty five million before marketing, and
insiders are saying there's no word other than flop to

(06:55):
describe a situation. Sources say it's crushing. Bruce didn't approve this.
He'd poured his whole soul into this and on people.
The film was set to win an Oscar, included Jeremy
Alan White and Jeremy Strong, but critics say that it
just didn't connect.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
What do you think it didn't connect? I've seen this movie.
It's a really good movie. I think the problem with
this movie, and this is a compliment Bruce Springsteen's life,
personal life. It's just not that messy he's not a
real housewife. What made the Queen movie so great that
Freddie Mercury was a mess. He was fabulous, but he
was sloppy. Elton John sloppy, or at least he was.

(07:34):
That's why these stories are so fantastic when there's no
story there, when the celebrity is a little bit dull.
And often these pop stars are on stage they're more
interesting than they are off stage. We've met many of them,
Mark big, big pop stars, a little dull. I think
Nick Jonas is fantastic on stage whenever I've met him,
whenever I've sat with him, Oh he's as dull as

(07:55):
they come. That interesting. And Nick, if you're listening Yellow
and Below, you're fabulous what you're doing. You don't have
to put on a show when you sit down with me.
I get it. I don't need the Nick Joonas show.
Although I would love for him to get up a
bottinaz and just do one, two and just one song,
he wasn't going to do that, MRK. That's not that
sort of And so often these celebrities' private lives are

(08:16):
just not that interesting. And this is what the mistake
they make making movies and musicals. It's not just the music.
You need a story. So Bruce has the greatest songs ever.
I mean, those songs are fantastic, but personally a bit moody,
bit grumpy, not the most interesting. Billy Joel. Now that
would be a good movie or musical because the songs

(08:39):
are there. But the story is there too. Dolly Parton,
they're doing a musical of her life. Her story is fabulous,
born into poverty, all those brothers and sisters and rose
to the top. So you need a story there too.
It must be concerning. Though he really did think this
was going to be massive. Has not done very well,
and yeah, I get it. It stings. It stings when

(09:01):
things don't do as well as you hope. But don't
worry for Bruce. He's still selling out concerts. He's got
tons of money. He's going to be fine. Okay, moving along,
Prince Harry dropped a bombshell and everybody in the UK
they heard what he said. So he was asked where
he lives and he said currently, I live in the US.
Now that's a very unusual thing to say. He could
have said I live in America, he didn't. He added

(09:21):
the word currently, So Mark. If I say to you, Muckleypen,
where do you live and you say, currently, I live
in Harlem, I'm like, oh, he's not going to stay there.
Robs shed A, where do you live? Currently? I live
in Chelsea. He's not going to say. You wouldn't say that.
I'd say I live in Chelsea because I'm never leaving
this apartment. Carrie said, currently, Well, people in Britain have noticed.

(09:41):
The Palace has noticed. I was back in Britain for
a week, so I really did get a ton of
new royal gossip. I spent some time with people I
went to school with, university with, and a lot of
them do work at the Palace. The Palace hires hundreds
of people. It is. They call it the best gay
bar in Britain. All my gay friends. And I'm working
a book at a palace, so low Loo Loo. They
listened to the walk you get the King to listen

(10:03):
Hello Charlie. Well, they told me all the gout it.
They said, oh my goodness, Harry did say currently maybe
he wants to go back. I think he does. My
insiders are telling me you do miss home Mark. When
I went back to Britain, I grew up in Birmingham, England.
I felt really at home. I just sat on my
mom's couch. And I'm not saying that I don't love

(10:23):
it here. I do. This is home too, but there
was something about where you grow up. And Harry spent
at least what twenty thirty years of his life in Britain.
He spent a lot more time of his life in
Britain than in California. It's a real cultural change to him,
and also too. In Britain he was treated like a
crown prince. He was treated very, very well. He's treated

(10:44):
well here in America, but it's not the same. People
don't bow for him in Montecito when he walks into
the Starbucks. People don't drop to their knees. Women are
not doing a curtsy. In Britain, they are He's a
crown prince, so arguably he had a better life in Britain.
Interesting choice of words. Am I reading into it?

Speaker 2 (11:02):
Mark?

Speaker 1 (11:02):
Or do you think my my suspicion, my nosiness has
once again got to be proven right.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Well, you're as equally as nosey as I am. And
I'm not embarrassed to admit that they think about this
almost every day, like what's it going to be like
if they do separate and he has to move back
to London and she's ongoing, she's never going back. And
that's the that's the hard fact here. And you know,
I think they have been pushing this narrative that everything
is so happy and great in Montecito. And even just recently,

(11:31):
Megan posted a video of herself reacting when the La
Dodgers won and Harry is just sitting on the couch
by himself, like with the half half smiled, looking miserable,
and I'm like, this guy is all the way out.
He's all the way out, and he wants to go home.
And I get it.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
He wants to go home. Yeah, he wants to go home.
My sources are telling me, not just my sources in Britain,
people I know who work for Harry and Meghan in La.
Friends of their say he's just never really fit in.
Ally is a tough place if you don't look like
Brad Pitt and you're in the entertainer business, which is
Harry's business now they're in the podcast. In entertainment business,
it's rough. He's a really nice looking guy, but he's

(12:06):
balled in. He's not got a six pack of abs,
and that's what they want in Hollywood. We've been their Mark.
I'm always the fat guy in Hollywood would like I'm
the old fat guy. I'm in New York. I'm at
eight in Hollywood. I'm a throat on a good day.
It's a tough place, Mark, and Harry just does not
have that Hollywood look. I think he's going to go home.
And the question here Mark really got to the center

(12:29):
of the argument here. She ain't going back. So if
he's talking about or thinking about going back, it's by himself.
She's not. There's no way she is going back. It's
just not going to happen. Everyone we know who knows
her Mark, she's never She will not even go back
for the King's funeral. Like She's just she's not going back.
The fact he's saying he currently lives in la that

(12:52):
doesn't mean they're moving to Atlanta. I don't think they're
moving to Florida. There's any one place that he's moving to.
And he is back to London. Okay, this story made
me chuckle a little bit. Joey who I loved him
on The Bachelor. I thought he was so cute on
the bachelor, but he's still not married. Mark, He's busy, busy, busy,
but he's not exactly married. What's going on?

Speaker 2 (13:13):
He's not so the nation's golden boy just had a
finish line, but not the ones that fans are begging for.
Fresh off grinding out of the New York City Marathon,
Joey Grasida it was spotted limping through l e X,
proudly nursing his sorkas like a badge of honor. He
made it with seconds to very told the Shooters Told
Shooters Group, grinning through the pain. But while the marathon

(13:35):
pace was blistering, wedding planning with fiancee Kelsey Anderson is crawling.
He said. We're in the early stages of planning. AKA,
they've pinned two floral arrangements and maybe booked a playlist together. Rob,
it doesn't seem like this is moving in the direction
of the way.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
No not. There's something going on here. They're busy enough
to do to do the stuff they want to do,
but yet they're too busy to get married be a priority.
All my sources are saying there's something very off here.
If he can train for the marathon, he got enough
time to get ready for a wedding if he can
do all this TV stuff. Well, I'm told he's holding

(14:11):
this up is they want a reality show wedding. They
want this to be televised and they don't have that yet.
So you know, I like that his friends are defending him.
I like that his friends are saying, oh, they're planning,
and they don't want this to be in the spotlight.
It's the opposite the reality stars. Even if they're good
people and they could be all reality stars. We've ever
met Mark love one thing the spotlight. They wouldn't be

(14:33):
on a reality show. He wants a big ABC, a
big network work wedding, and they don't want to do
that for him, and so they're trying to figure this
one out. Oh this is what buggd me about these shows.
When you realize it's not actually about love, it's about
the love of money, about the love of fame, about
the love of being in the spotlight, it really turns

(14:54):
you off. And that's the floor. That's the fundamental problem
with the reality sho shows. Anyone that goes on them now,
not in the beginning, but now they go on it
to become rich and famous. No one's going on it
to celebrate their life, to have a good time. It's
always off one eye thinking I'm going to become rich,
and so it's just it's changed the type of people

(15:17):
the audition for these shows. And so I find this
like not totally true. But Jerry, we wish you the best.
He is cute, their mark he's a kid. Is Okay,
We're going to take a quick break and we will
be right back. Welcome back to the Nord even nice show.
It's so good to be back in New York City. Naughties. Hey,

(15:38):
let's get to the poll. D So last show, we
didn't actually give a poll, so when I was in
Britain it was quite tricky to do the polls mark
because I didn't quite know when we were going to
be taping. It was a logistic problem, so we didn't
have a poll. But now we're back to schedule. Don't
forget to vote on today's pole, don't forget to vote

(15:59):
on to day is Paul. It's a really really good
one today. Kim Kardashian, is she gonna give her back
to in after this awful response? I mean, really cruel.
I don't think she thought she was gonna get an oscar,
but she didn't expect it to be this bad? What
do you think? Go vote on our Twitter page at
Naughty and Nise Rob. A facebook page is Naughty Gossip
and be sure to check back tomorrow to hear your results.

(16:23):
And now it's time for and nicest of the day.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
Oh this is one of my favorites.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
Rob. It's you what you've changed it? You little stinkers?
Is it in the script mark? It's not in this.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
I'm very naughty.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
I'll go with it.

Speaker 2 (16:39):
So, of course this is dedicated to your first novel,
and it's having Hollywood buzzing and insiders are sweating that
they really are, So move over, Devil Worst Prada. There's
a new guilty pleasure in town and it's sharper, sexier
and aimed straight at the heart of fame. Celebrity insider,
columnist and VH one gossip table hose Rob Shooter has
sold his debut novel and it's started with the whisper

(17:02):
as the title, and the buzz is already absolutely deafening.
Answers started saying what the double worst product did for fashion?
It started with a whisper? Does for gossip? It does
it's very juicy, it's dangerously real and a glamorous page
turner about fame, friendship, and betrayal, and it's rob I'm
so excited for this book. It's gonna be awesome.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
Thank you. The buzz is really great. So what happened
is my publisher it doesn't come out to April, but
my publisher is like, you've got to do some press now,
because pre orders on Amazon is everything. If you can
sell a couple of thousand books on Amazon before the
book even comes out, it puts you in a very
good position to have a hit. And so I just
did a little bit of press, not that much, but
friends reached out to me, my friends at Radar, at Wonderworld.

(17:44):
At page six came out, Elvis Duran has plugged the
book Rosanna Scotto and so thank you, thank you, thank you.
I just was going to put up a picture of
the cover on my Instagram and pin it, so it's
the first picture, and so I did that and then
people went nuts. And now the bus is really exciting.
So a lot of people are nervous about who I'm
gossiping about. So there's already been not not legal threats,

(18:09):
but there's been a few few interest, a little bit
of interest from a few lawyers. Boy, thank you so much.
If you do have a minute and you want to
do me a solid, please go to Amazon. Type in
rob Shooter, type in it started with a whisper. I
think it's seventeen eighteen dollars. You can pre order it
now and in April you'll forget you've even ordered it.

(18:31):
And in April it will turn up on your doorstep
as a little surprise, and you will be guaranteed to
get it when it first comes out. So if you
have a minute today, if you could do that, I'd
be really grateful. Mark. That's a lovely thing for you
to do. Thank you for plugging me and my book.
And now I naughty is of the day, Naughty, naughty, naughty.
David Beckham finally got knighted, only after he cut ties
with Meghan and Harry's that's right to David always wanted

(18:53):
to be ninety, but he's too friendly with the Sussex Is.
Remember there were friends, and then Megan accused Victoria of
gossiping behind her back, of almost leaking stories. They had
a huge fallout. Well guess who David and Victoria are
best friends with now Kate and William, and suddenly you
get a title. This is how the world works, my friends.

(19:13):
After the titles of wards are not given out on merit,
but on who you know, who you're friends with. Oh
it's shady, shady, shady, No, it is the dailer's then
with a moment of rubbi a rubber. Being challenged in
life is inevitable. Being defeated that is optional. Hard moments
aren't a something that you're on the wrong path. They're
actually a confirmation that you are growing. Challenges are part

(19:36):
of the deal. Life will push you, it always does.
It will stretch you, will frustrate you, and sometimes it
knocks your flat out. But defeat that's not something life
gives you. That's something you accept. You don't control every
obviouslycle but you do control your response. You can get
back up, you can try again, you can pivot, you

(19:56):
can turn the lesson into leverage. The people you admired
the most aren't lucky. They're relentless. They refuse to let
us set back become the ending. And that's the difference.
So when life challenges you, and it will tighten your grip,
take that hit. Learn the lesson and stand up anyway,
because once again, strength isn't built in comfort, it's built

(20:19):
in resistance. Challenge is guaranteed, Defeat is a choice. Hey,
that is it for today. Thank you so much for
listening to The Naughty Bit Nice with Rob and Mark show,
a production of iHeartRadio and Alvis Durant. Do you think
it to? Subscribed on the heart Radio app podcast Wherever
you listen, leave us a review if you can. They
really really do help. And remember altogether, Now, if you're

going to be naughty, you've got to let me hear

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
