Speaker 1 (00:08):
Scrible advice. Hello laa laallll. Welcome to the Naughty button
Nice Show. I'm your host, Rob Shooter. It is Tuesday,
which means our dear friend Elena Dixon joins us. Hemist,
You're back, how are you? I am back. I went
to Georgia. I took my sister to see Jesus Christ
(00:29):
Superstar and we had a blast. Everything's all right with
the Dixon sisters. Welcome back, my friend. Let's jump into
the show. We've got so much gossip to get to
our show. Yesterday on the Oscars Exploded. I just saw
the numbers this morning, so welcome, welcome, Welcome, Hello, lower Low.
To all our new listeners, we love having you join
(00:52):
us here on the Naughty but Nice Show. And today
we have a big lead story. What time is it,
my friends, it's tea time. So I know a hit
when I see it. So we're going to keep riding
this Oscar train because apparently that's what you love. The
big Oscar story of the day is the fans are
defending Angela Bassett's clear disappointment over the fact that she
(01:15):
lost the award to Jamie Lee Curtis. So when Curtis
beat out the Black Panther Star. Everybody was surprised. I
think even Angela Bassett. She thought she was going to
win Best Supporting Actress. If you're remember, I think it
was in nineteen ninety two or ninety three. We all
thought she would win for Tina Turners. What's Love got
(01:37):
to do with it? It's a great movie. She lost,
and so I think we thought the Academy was going
to fix that wrong. On Sunday night, they did not well.
When Jamie Lee Curtis's name was announced, Angela noticeably did
not smile, did not stand up. The sixty four year
(01:57):
old looked crushed. And now many of her fans and
people that are not maybe that bigger fans, are going
after her on Twitter. People that don't really support her
are saying it was a shady move and she's a
sore loser. However, people that love Angela are saying something
totally different, saying Angela is allowed to be visibly disappointed
(02:21):
that she didn't win. Another person said quote, I actually
appreciate that Angela didn't put a face on a smiley
face for the sake of being a good sport. I'm
mixed on this, misty. I always encourage people to be
truthful and to really live your feelings. So if you
don't want to smile and you're not happy, you don't
(02:41):
have to. However, and an award show, should you just
put on a fake spile? What do you think? Oh?
I think you can have that half smile where you're like, oh,
this is great. It's not me And let's face it,
nobody likes to lose. We forget that these are human beings. Yes,
they're paid lots of money and they're wearing fabulous dresses,
(03:01):
and you know what, just for that they're winning. But
it still hurts when you don't win something, especially if
you thought you were going to win. So I think
you can understand that she was a little bit upset.
But we have to think about Jamie Lee Curtis's first nomination,
first win, so we have to be happy for that.
And Angela, Hey, if you're feeling bad, just go home
and look at those golden globes sitting on your mantle
(03:24):
right now. Won the Golden Globe for Wakondo Forever, won
a Golden Globe for her work, and what's love got
to do with it? So it's not like she's lost
out entirely. The Oscar has eluded her. But Honey, that
just means that you're just going to keep acting for
the next ten years until they give you your award.
You know, I think you just really said something important.
(03:44):
It's not over yet. Angela's just sixty four years old.
She's got many years ahead of her. I choose to
believe that every day, my best day is ahead of me. Mystery,
I really believe that. I want to believe. Maybe I'm
an opts, but I believe tomorrow is going to be better.
That I'm not on a decline. I get better as
(04:06):
I get older, I have more experience, I've learned more.
I'm much better at doing this now than I was
ten years ago. When we had our own morning show, Misty,
we weren't that good, which was a really fun experience,
but we learned on the job. That's why I hate
the expression faking it till you make it, because you're
not faking it. You're doing the work. You're doing the
(04:28):
work every day. You might not be great at it,
but if you do the work, you will get better
and better and better. There's no doubt that Angela is
one of the best in the business. But it's not
over yet, So people that are defending her, I love
your support for Angela, and I do actually think it's
a really good point. Why should you smile when you're disappointed?
Why can't you be allowed to be disappointed? She really
(04:50):
wanted to win, that ask her. I think she thought
it was hers and to not win, she was absolutely gutted.
So part of me loves the honors to hear. But
I want to know is what do you think fans
are defending Angela Bassett's disappointment over not winning the Oscar.
Should she have pretended to be happy? What do you
(05:12):
think should she have? We've all done it, mystery. Maybe
not at the Oscars, but when a friends told us
something that we didn't really want to hear, or when
somebody in that family has said something normally a grandparent
that you don't really agree with. You have just normally politics.
You just have to smile, So you put on your
Oscar winning smile. Oh that's just fine, and she have
(05:35):
pretended to be happy. Go vote on a Twitter page
naughty nice Rob or at Facebook page naughtyssip, and be
sure to drink back tomorrow to hear your results. Hey,
mistery what are you working on? Well, Rob, you know,
there's that huge Vanity Fair party that everybody goes to
during the Oscars for the Oscars, and so of course
(05:56):
Hailey Bieber was there. She was looking fabulous and a
black Saint Lauri on dress. But then we have to
talk about her husband, Justin, who looked like he showed
up in a blanket with a backwards hap. So what
sources are saying is that he came in and a
back entrance, met Haley inside. And then another insider claimed
that the Canadian actor looked tormented and weird attending in
(06:20):
the party and a blanket. Maybe this is a new
style on the runway. Who knows. Of course, though Vanity
Fair did release their own photos, their own notes, and
they said that basically Justin was hanging out with all
sorts of other people. Yes, they said it did look
like he was in a blanket. He went up to
Clipper Star Russell Westbrook who was clad head to toe
(06:41):
and Tom Brown. Justin, maybe take some notes. And you know,
hours before we saw Justin on Instagram he was supporting Haley.
He was saying how beautiful his wife look, Love you baby.
Some people who are you know, team Selena, our team
Haley took this as an insult to Selena Gomez, his
ex girlfriend. There's some kind of war on TikTok. You
(07:02):
can explain it, Rob, but you know what, she looked fabulous.
I'm sure Selena looked fabulous wherever she was and everybody
should just be happy. It was a fun night. Yeah,
I hear you on this one. I am. I'm a
bit concerned about Justin if the truth be told. We
know he struggled with mental health issues. He canceled his
tour because of that. And to go to the Vanity
Fair Oscar party, were in a blanket. You know this
(07:24):
press there. It's one of the few nights of the
year where you absolutely are going to guarantee that there's
an enormous amount of press there. So if you don't
feel like going out or dressing up, get of your
local restaurant, or don't go out at all, have friends over.
My goodness, you live in magnificent palace. Is so to
turn up in a blanket, even if you go through
the back door. You know this press inside. I've been
(07:45):
to that party. It's wild, Misty, It's everywhere you look,
there's another celebrity, and there's press people everywhere, just literally
crawling with press people who are invited by Vanity Fair.
So don't feel like the press are they're not invited,
they are in. I did. Vanity Fair wants to get
publicity from this. So it's just curious why somebody who
seems so shy, who doesn't want to get any attention,
(08:07):
why they would go to that party. There's so many
other parties to go to, private parties at people's homes.
I hope he's doing okay. And let's point out to
that our friends over at page six were the first
to report this a good scoop. Hey, moving along, Michelle,
you appears to have taken aim at CNN's Don Lemon
during her Oscar speech. He has ignored the dig. So
(08:32):
when MICHELLEO accepted the Oscar Best Actress, it appeared that
she was having a swipe at CNN's Don Lemon. It
was really emotional. She lifted up her golden statue and said, quote,
this is proof that dreams, big dreams, dreams do come true.
(08:53):
And ladies, don't let anyone tell you that you're past
your prime. That's a line that Don Lemon said, implied
against presidential hopeful Nicky Hailey. We've talked about that on
the show. It exploded, and I think it's something that
really stuck with women. Having a man have anyone tell
(09:14):
you that you past your prime is just so so wrong.
So I love the fact that she addressed this. However,
on Monday's show, Don talks about Michelle Willing the Oscar
making history, but he didn't mention the fact that in
that his staric moment, that he staric speech, she took
(09:37):
a little bit of a dig at him. What do
you think? I think that was probably the right decision
because he didn't need to insert himself anymore into her story, right,
you know? You know what I'm saying here. So, and
it's very interesting because when you think of many of
women and celebrities politics have said this as a man
gets older, as he's considered wise and very aur benair,
(10:00):
and a lot of times they say about a woman basically, oh,
she's washed up, she'll never do anything again. And we
just see from Michelle Yo and Jamie Lee Curtis and
Angela Bassett that it's just the beginning, or you know,
you're right in it. It's not time to stop. You
keep going, you keep making it happen. And I just
have a little advice for mister don Lemon. Now, we
(10:23):
know people tune into the show to see what he's
going to say. That's controversial, that is what he's established.
And as long as you make sure it's about what
people do their actions, that might be fair game. But
when you get into things that you can't control, which
is your age, your race, your gender, your sexual orientation,
(10:44):
and you start commenting on people based on that, that's
when it becomes a problem. So stay away from that,
stick to the facts and what people are doing and
analyze that. Yeah, I think you're absolutely right, and I
do think it probably was wise for him to ignore
it because once again he'd make the whole story about himself,
which is something that at the moment, we don't need, Tom,
(11:07):
it's not your moment. Hey, Moving along, what's going on
with Amy row back t J. Holmes. We know about
their affair. Now we're finding out something very interesting about
her daughter. Yeah, so she has this daughter named Annalise,
and Annalise is keeping her relationship alive with her stepfather,
Andrew Shoe. So basically she showed us a glimpse of
(11:28):
her spending time with him and his son Nate, following
her mother's PDA filled because she loves that With t
J Holmes, the two x GMA anchor, so Annelie, she
shared an Instagram story photo of herself with Andrew and
his eldest son. It was on March twelve, with an
upside down smiley face emojis now social media. The social
(11:53):
media upload comes after Annelie and her sister Eva showed
their support for Nate's film since or this week. So yeah,
Andrew's son made a film and they were supporting so now.
The former ABC reporter Amy shares her kids with Tim McIntosh,
So she was married to him. From nineteen ninety six
to two thousand and eight, she was married to Jennifer Haganey.
(12:16):
This is the parents, but it's really just interesting to
see this relationship that he has with his stepchildren that
during their marriage they made such a strong connection that
even though her mother has moved on from him, they
have decided not to move on from that relation. Gosh,
this is tricky, isn't it. So when they were together
(12:36):
Amy and Andrew's shoe, they gushed about this blended family.
He brought three sons. I believe from his first marriage
into the new family, and she brought two daughters, and
they all got along really well. And I read stories
about them all having dinner together, all sitting dan together.
I've been to Amy's apartment and I can tell you
all the kids had their own rooms. And so they
(12:57):
really were set up as one big, blended family. And
that wasn't just for six months or a yarpe for
a really long time. And so now, even though Amy
and Andrew have split up, that relationship with their step children,
their brothers, their sisters, their stepbrothers and sisters still go strong.
It's tricky because you want to support your mom, I guess,
(13:19):
But at the same time you have these really really
strong emotional bonds. Hey, I hope they all work it out.
It's very very complicated, isn't it. But best to look
to all of you quickly before we get a break.
There's a new book out that says Prince Williams and
Kate Middleton's marriage might seem perfect, but it's not all sweetness.
So behind closed palace doors, they are just like us. Mystery,
(13:43):
I see you leaning in. So Tom Quinn has a
new book out, The Gilded Youth, and intimate story of
growing up in the royal family, and it talks at
great length about William and Kate. They have nicknames for
one another. She calls him Babe and he calls her
Duchess of Doolittle, which is a joke that the Queen
(14:05):
was apparently not happy when they got together that she
did not have a job. She didn't have a full
time job, so they said she did nothing. Hence the
Duchess of Doolittle. Kind of funny. In the book, they
say that they do fight, though they do scream. They
say that he's got a much more hot temper than
she does. She's very calming, she doesn't stir things up.
(14:28):
She wants everybody to get along, and they remind us
to which I think here is a dig at Meghan
that when Kate first joined the family, not only was
the Queen really harsh, the press was really hard. They
made fun of her because her mother was a stewardess,
that's what they called them in those days. She worked
on a flight and they wouldn't invite Kate to the
(14:50):
big family events because she really was a commoner. Princess
Diana was not a commoner. She was Lady Diana, and
so Kate was just Kate Middleton. Her family had a
lot of money, but they were not from the upper
chlunce of society, and the press really looked down their
nose at her, like she was a working class girl.
But Kate never responded. That's the digget Megan, isn't it.
(15:13):
They said, she didn't complain. She never responded in quote,
she didn't write let us to the press or call
of the editors complaining. I liked this story, except I
don't like that there's definitely a dig there. Well, you
gotta put your spin on it. And hey, he's not
telling us anything that we didn't already know. Couples fight
(15:33):
and they get over it, and they make up and
they move on. And I totally understand that that was
her decision that she didn't want to say anything, because
obviously she knew at some point she would be queen
and that was kind of the role that she felt.
I think the biggest difference between her and Megan is
a lot of the press, and we didn't see it
here so much in America, but from what we've heard,
(15:55):
the press in England really honed in on her race
and made some really incredibly derogatory statements about comparing her
and her children to certain animals. I mean, there were
kind of things made about death threats. And when you
get to that level, when it becomes solely based on race,
I think you have to say something because you put
(16:16):
other people because they assume, well, if you're saying this
about Megan, this is what we can say about any
person of color, which can lead to something that becomes physical.
And I think that's where the biggest different is different path. Absolutely. Hey,
we're going to take a quick break and we will
be right back. Welcome back to the Hey, we're not
(16:40):
going to get to the pole today because I didn't
do one yesterday, but don't forget to vote on today's pole.
Go to our Twitter page at Naughty Nice romb or
at Facebook page Naughty Girls. I'm be sure to check
back tomorrow to hear your results. And now it's time
for a nicest of the day. Well, our nicest of
the day is Kim Karnet because she's finally breaking her
(17:02):
silence on her ex husband Kanye West is a relationship
with his new wife Bianca since Sori. You know, they
very quietly got married a few weeks ago or just
a couple months ago. So you know, Kim is feeling
happy for her ex. According to a source at US Weekly,
and they say Kim is actually glad that Kanye has
(17:23):
found someone that makes him happy. She knows they had
both completely moved on from the relationship. She meets her
and Kanye and she wants nothing but the best for
him now. Of course, and Sori Bianca, she's a twenty
eight year old Australian native. She's an architectural designer, very
smart woman. They've kept the relationship very quiet. She and Kanye.
(17:45):
They did take a trip to Universal Studios. Of course,
we got the pictures, and they took nine year old
Kanye's nine year old daughter Northwest and it seemed like
they were having a really nice time. So Kim wants
the best, and I think that's all she should want.
Well done, Kim, keeping taking the high road. And now
I notice the day naughty Bethany Frankel is saying that
(18:08):
Anna Winter cut the Kardashians from the met Darla to
class it up. So Bethany seems to jump on all
these big stories and make it really about herself, and
I think this is just so rude. She's saying the
Kardashians are past their peak. She's saying they were unavoidable. Bethany,
I think you're talking about yourself and the Real Housewives.
Let me remind everybody here that not a single Real
(18:30):
housewife has ever been invited allowed to attend the met
benefit so that Bethany is triggered, I think by this
one and naughtiest, naughtiest of the day. Let's end with
a moment of rob You're gonna rub when you become
a fan of the person who once made you green
with envy, you will become inspired by them, observe them
(18:54):
and their behavior, and find out where they got where
you want to be. Transform your jealousy to admiration, and
what you admire will eventually become part of your life.
When somebody makes me jealous, mystery, I try to become
friends with them, I try to hang out with them,
(19:15):
I try to meet them, and it gives me an
insight into how I can get to where they are
to where I want to be. Don't be jealous, be
a fan. Absolutely use their life as a blueprint to
get to the life that you want. And when you
let go of all that negativity, all the positivity will
(19:37):
start flowing in. Absolutely. That is it for today. Thank
you so much for listening to the NRD, A device
with a Rab and Misty Show, a production of My

Apple podcast. Wherever you listen, leave us a review if
