Speaker 1 (00:08):
Gable advice. Hellollallalla, Hello, welcome to the Naughty but Night Show.
I'm your host, Rob Shooter, and it's Thursday, which means
our dear friend Mark Lupo joins us. Hey, Loopie, are
you there? Lippy lewis here right? Big smile Mark. I
love how in the mornings you're all showered and ground
(00:33):
and moisturized and ready to go. I love feeling fresh
for the show. I don't like coming in not feeling prepared.
So I feel clean, showered everything. You lucky on an
average day if you're not taping ours shows, So we're
lucky enough to have you every Thursday. But not every day,
but every Thursday. What happens on your other days? Mark?
(00:54):
I shower like two to three times a day. Like
I work in, I am very hydrienic. I love to
feel clean. I don't like going to bed after being
on the subway or being out and about, like I
have to take care of that before bed. What about
if you've had a vodka soda or two, do you
still have a shower. I fully brush my teeth, I flash,
I do like moisturize, had Everything doesn't matter how many
(01:17):
drinks I've had. I could fall asleep with my makeup on.
I could. That's bad. I'm one of those sort of girls.
I know. It's not good. I know, but that's why
you always look so great. My friend, Hey, let's jump
into the show. What time is it? My friends? It
is tea time, big, big story. At the top of
the show, so Kelly Ripper shares that she had to
(01:38):
share a bathroom with her audience at Live while Regis
had his own private bathroom. So she's on the cover
of Variety and she's really revealing so many sort of
scandalous details. She said, we have a studio audience of
like two hundred and fifty people, and she had to
queue up with the audience to go to the bathroom.
(01:59):
She said it was particularly annoying when she was pregnant,
and she said it was extraordinarily exhausting to have to
wait on lying, and she had a show to host,
and she still liked to wait on lying to use
her bathroom. She said that it was unnecessarily and needlessly
difficult situation, and even people fancy the show, people that
(02:23):
went to see the show, they couldn't believe that they
were standing on lying to get in the bathroom. With
Kelly Ripper. She goes on to add that when she
also joined the show, she wasn't really given an office.
They sort of cleaned down a janitor's closet and she
was in there for three years, no window, just stucked
in this janitor's closet. And then when Regis left the
(02:46):
show and Michael Straham was going to join the show,
she was told that they've saved the space. They're going
to save Regis's space for the new guy. And Kelly
looked at them and said, I am the new guys.
WHOA okay? So, Rob, I was an intern at Regis
and Kelly in two thousand and seven, two thousand and eight.
(03:07):
I remember this bathroom. You know, it's a very small studio.
It's the local ABC seven studio in New York and
at the time the studio they had the show also
shared a space with the local news, so it was
a very very cramped space. I was in that same bathroom.
I would use the bathroom. Steve Carell was next to
me at the urinal, like everyone was. I was nervous.
(03:29):
I didn't look. I didn't like you want wanted to look.
But I remember that bathroom, you know it was a
very tight space. There was really not She always was
in a makeup room. She never really had an office.
But I will say upstairs next to the production office,
that's where Regis was, and it was a huge office
with lots of fun stuff in there. Yeah it was.
It was really nice. Yeah. Oh, I bet Regis had
all his memorabilia in there from years and baseball stuff,
(03:52):
and she had like a closet. I used to go
to the show quite a lot with guests when I
was a celebrity publicist, so I know the bathroom. And
to be honest, it wasn't designed as a public bathroom.
It's an office bathroom. And it's weird because it's one
of the most popular shows on TV, but it's shot
out of a local studio and so it was never
(04:13):
really designed to have a studio audience. That show was
designed like your office. Like you know, it's a public
bathroom in the office, and yes, it can accommodate however
big your office is. But imagine two hundred and fifty
people turning up just one day unannounced and wanting to
use the bathroom. There was always like a crazy, crazy line. Guys.
(04:34):
It was easier because luckily at least for me when
I went to visit, and you mark, most of the
audience were female. However, this is just so outrageous and
I think it points and paints a bigger picture here.
Kelly has spoken out about this in the past, saying
she wasn't really welcomed at the show. Like we all
think that this was the opportunity of a lifetime. It was, However,
(04:56):
it came with a lot of costs, and Kelly said
the first couple of were really hard. They didn't really
want her there. She had to fight to get her
name in the title, and even though she has delivered
day in, day out, it wasn't until she demanded that
they treat her well that they did, and I think
(05:16):
that is such a lesson for all of us. So
she said that ABC only agreed to her current salary,
which variety of reporting is twenty million a year. So
she said the only reason she got that is she
was ready to walk out of the door and close
it behind her. She said quote, I think they really
figured out quite rapidly that they had screwed up in
(05:39):
a major way and this was not a good look.
They can't lose Kelly. I think the show is going
to be fine without Ryan. I love Ryan. I'm not
putting him down. I think he's so talented and such
a good guy. I'll miss him, but the show will
be fine. I think Kelly's husband joining her will be great.
My question to Kelly, though, is who's going to get
the big office? Kelly share? Yeah. I mean they should
(06:04):
make a big one, big space for both of them. Yes,
I don't know, but definitely she deserves the top building there.
I wish them both the best, and Kelly, I encourage
you keep telling this. It's wild. I mean, it's just wild,
the stuff she's saying, which brings us to our pole
question of the day. Kelly says she had to share
a bathroom with her very own audience while Regis had
(06:24):
his own private bathroom. Should the executives behind this decision?
Should they be fired? Should there be some sort of consequence?
I think one's interesting about this show, Mark is there's
not a lot of turnover amongst the staff, the hosts,
the co hosts. They change quite a bit, not that often,
but they do rotate a little bit. We've seen Michael go,
(06:46):
We've seen Regis go. Now, we've seen Ryan Seacres go,
Kathie Lee went, so that changes a little bit. But
the staff, the people that I talked to over there
have been there twenty years. Gellman's a really good example.
Everybody knows him because he's on TV. He's almost like
the third host of the show. Should he be in
trouble for this, like he was there when all of
this went down. I'm told she has a great relationship
(07:08):
with him. He loves her, she loves him. But if
somebody didn't treat me well when I first, when I
became powerful, I'd say no, I would do anything, but
I might not forget. Yeah, I mean, Golman was an
intern at ABC himself Internet. He started at the bottom.
(07:29):
He should know better. You know, you should have better
treat people well, everybody. When you have a chance to
make something right, do it. I remember the people that
treated me well. Not when I had JAILO or dido
or not that I'm now a best selling author, thank
you very much, But I remember the people who were
(07:49):
nice to me. It didn't need to be. I had
nothing really to offer them, and they were kind. And
I will never ever forget that. Hey, go vote on
actin a page at Naughty Nice Rob a Facebook pages
and sure to chet back tomorrow to hear your results. Haylopie,
what are you working on? Yeah, let's talk about Tom
Brady her favorite subject here. So Tom Brady shared a
(08:13):
glimpse inside a beach day with his three kids and
his NFL BFFs. So the retired player gave followers a
glimpse into his recent beach outing, sharing a series of
photos with his crew, which included his kids, Jack, Benjamin,
and Vivian, and also his friends Blaine Gabbert, Julian Edelman
and Rob Gronkowski. I love that grountast big boys. The
(08:37):
photo showed the group throwing a football, hanging out in
the pool, jet skiing, and wakeboarding. It looked like they
had no carriers in the world. Rob, I want to
be part of that guy. I want to be a
part of their gang too. And this this outing comes
just after Giselle opened up about their Dwarfs. Yeah what
do you think? Yeah, yeah, well a, the pictures are
just beautiful. I mean it's it's it looks like that
(08:57):
scene in Top Gun where they're all shirtless throwing a
football on the beach. I mean it is firsty Mark,
Thank goodness, his children are in the photograph because it
made me tamper down all my feelings as it felt
a bit weird because all these football hugs throwing a football,
they're all shirtless. They're in the best shapes of their lives.
(09:21):
I mean just it almost looks like they are statues,
like they are carved out of marble. The pictures are
upon Naughty gossip dot com. If you need a little
bit of Ye candy, and I don't think there's anything
wrong with that. If you need a little bit of
I canty today, check out these pictures. He could be
a professional model. Mark. Oh, it's beautiful. I could see
(09:42):
this being a calendar. You know how they have the
hard guys. Oh, we should make our owns. We should
just make Tom. I'm all for this. Now. We should
point out too that Tom is no fool. He was
sporting his own swimsuit brand, which is Brady Brown. So
he has these lovely blue swimming trunks on. What you
(10:02):
call them in America bathing bathing city. He has his
bathing we call it a bathing costume in Britain, get
your bathing costume. So he has his bathing costume on
and his own brand if I buy a pair of
these shorts, Mark will I turn into Tom Brady will
thank you. That's where my friends. Do you ever do
(10:24):
that when you're going to buy new one and on
the box they're always so gorgeous, And I'm like, oh, fye,
buy these Calvin Kleins. I will look like the guy
in the commercial. Then you come home, you run home,
you try them on. You're luck in the mirror. Oh dear,
it's all about the angles, Rob. You gotta just sh
in shape, and I think it will work out. I
(10:45):
love that story. Check out the pictures. Hey. Ryan ce
Christ is saying he's grateful after admitting that he's actually
looking forward to leaving life with Kelly and Ryan. So
he only has about three weeks left till his final episode.
I'm told they're going to do a huge goodbye package.
Producers do this when somebody leaves a show. They go
back over all the other shows and pull the highlights,
(11:06):
funny stuff, really emotional stuff, all the beautiful moments. So
they're working on that now. And he told George, which
I thought was really truthful and very interesting quotes, I'm
looking forward to leaving. He said, I will miss Kelly.
Every morning having a cup of coffee with the audience.
It's such a fun show. And after six years, I'm
very grateful, and I'm grateful I was able to work
(11:26):
here in New York. But he said it's been a
remarkable ride and he's excited to pass the bat on.
But that is so interesting. He said he's looking forward
to leaving. Is this a dig or is this him
just being totally honest? You know, I don't think this
is a dig at all. I think this is him
being honest. Working at a talk show, being on a
talk show as a grind, it's every day constantly have
(11:50):
to like prep and think, and he has other jobs.
He's going back and forth too, And I think he
handled this in the most professional way possible. He gave
them the heads up there, you know, they announced he together,
they already had the host replaced. I think he's a
stand up guy. I really do he is. Have you
ever had a job of show that you've been relieved
(12:10):
to leave? For me, it was Diddy, And I know
that's going to sound like gossip here, but when I
finally stopped working with Diddy, I had a sigh of relief.
And it's not Dishy, and it's not mean. He was intense.
He taught me really how to be a publicist. He
taught me how to be an entertainer. He taught me
how to do this he puts on a show. To
be honest, I don't really know what Diddy does and
(12:31):
I will work for him, but I know he's a
great show man. He's like Barnum. I think he sells vodka.
Maybe he made some music and some T shirts. I
love him, I do love him. I know this sounds
cheeky if you're listening. Puff la la la mala. He's
got my number, so I have to be careful. I
really enjoyed having worked for him, but I'd never do
it again. No, but he is very entertaining. He's I
(12:54):
love watching his Instagram videos him dancing around. But I
will say for me and for my jobs. There's one
gig I had a few years ago that I was very,
very miserable at, and I was relieved to tell them
I was moving on. But I did it in a
professional way. I gave them the two weeks and then
off I went. Yeah, Yeah, I'm like that too. Sometimes
it's really nice to find the good in goodbye. Look
(13:17):
at that. I know I stole it from Beyonce. It's
one of her lyrics. Okay, moving along. Katie Holmes has
made a very rare comment about her daughter, Sure Cruise.
She never talks about Sure She very rarely even puts
pictures up of them on her Instagram on her social media.
Why does she have to say? This is a rare moment. So,
(13:38):
The actress recently gave insight into life with her daughter,
whom she shares with ex Tom Cruise, revealing that this
revealing that the sixteen year old watched her break up
role on the nineties teen drama Dastin's Creek during the pandemic.
That was defeats so weird, so weird. She said, she's
seen Dawston's Creek, and I think it's probably weird since
she's a teenagers a variety. She's like, but I'm not like,
(14:00):
you need to watch mommy's work. But during the pandemic
we had a laugh about it. And it's well to
have a daughter who's almost the same age I was
when it began all of this. Oh wow, what do
you think? Wow? I don't know if that makes you
feel old or really warm and happy inside. She's forty
four years old. Suri Cruises now sixteen. I remember when
(14:23):
she was firstborn. I was in La with Diana Ross
of all people, and Alicia Keys and my phone rang
were at a photo shoot and it was the Vanity Fair.
Suri was going to be on the cover of Vanity
Fair and they wanted quotes from experts from media people,
so I gave a quote. And I remember that moment
because I was really looking forward to seeing her picture.
We'd never ever seen her. It must be weird, though,
(14:45):
mustn't it to realize that your parents are famous and
they have a body of work and Dawson's Creek. It's
a lot of fun. But I might have started with
that Batman movie, which I think Katie was marvelous in.
Remember that Batman movie. Shouldn't come back for the for
the sequel. Jake Gillenhall's sister took over, didn't she. But
(15:05):
I mean Dawson's Creak. It's still a lot of fun,
and it must be wild to see your mom doing
her thing. Hey, we're going to take a quick break
and we will be right back. Welcome back to the
Naughty but Nice Rob Shooter. If a different the very
freshly squeeze, Mark Lupo, you even have your hair gelling.
(15:26):
Mark's right, I can see your moisturis how often did
you get your hair cut? I go every in two weeks.
I knew it. Never a hair out of place. I
have a fade those so it's harder to keep it
maintain if you don't go. Oh, that's right, what'd you
call it again? You told me what to ask for once.
It's the mid skin fade. That's it. I'm gonna ask
(15:46):
for that mid skin phase fade. Ask for that. Okay,
let's get to the poles. Last year we talked about
Harry if he does attend the coroner, and now that
he's popped up in London, poof, I mean he could
go there. He was. He didn't tell anyone he was going,
(16:06):
so he can get there. So you know, planes do
work for Harry as well as the rest of us.
So poof there is. Meanwhile, he landed at the airport
and got out of the airport without anybody seeing him.
We didn't even know he was there until he turned
up at the courthouse. And so how did he get
out of that? He must have flown in private, I'm sure,
but then, I mean, I don't think he got an
ubera a taxi. I mean we're like, it's like he's stealth.
(16:30):
It's Jennifer Anderson type stealth. She's the hardest celebrity to
report upon because she's almost got an invisibility cloak, like
you never see her when she doesn't want to be seeing,
And it just goes to show you. Even though we're
all a little sick of Harry and Megan and they're everywhere.
If they want to be private, they can't be. He
snuck into London under the cover of darkness. Do you
(16:52):
think he came in on a boat down the Thames?
I mean he literally snuck in. But back to our pole.
So what were we saying? We were saying that he
won't he won't have to bow to Queen Camilla if
he does attend the coronation. He has a lot of
bad blood with her and he said some awful things
about her in his book. Do you think he should bow?
So if he goes, should he bow? Let's have a look, Oh,
(17:15):
this is quite high. Seventy percent said yes, I think
so too. If you don't want to bow, don't go.
The rules are the rules? What do you think. I
totally agree. If you want to, if you want to
go to this event, you have to play by the rules.
If you don't, then just stay home. It's really something. Yeah,
don't go. Yeah, we're all agreeing here almost of a
seventy percent of us are. Don't forget to vote on
today is Paul going to our Twitter page and naughty Nights. Rob.
(17:36):
Our Facebook page is naughty gassip and be sure to
check back to Mobo to hear your results. And now
it's time for the nicest of the day. Oh, it's
one of our favorites. Rob. It's Madonna. I love her still,
she adnois me, but I do love too some. Madonna
slammed Tennessee's laws on drag shows and gender affirming care,
(17:57):
calling them pathetic explains going on. Ye, So Madonna sounded
off on Tennessee's new laws benning gender affirming healthcare and
adult oriented quote unquote entertainment, including male and female impersonators
from public property. She said the oppression of LGPTQ is
not only unacceptable and in humane, it's creating an unsafe environment. Wow.
(18:19):
Sources tell me she hopes she gets arrested like she
wants to be pulled off stage in handcuffs and she's
going to go all out on this one. I just
don't get it. And if some people say drag performances
are oversexual, I say, look at Miley Cyrus, like, any
performer can be sexual or not. You can be an
(18:41):
Alicia Keys or you can be a Jennifer Lopez. But
that doesn't mean we should ban all female singers, like, hey,
let's do add naughties today. Naughty, naughty, naughty Prince Harry's
tears into the Royal family for withholding information. So as
we said, Harry's in London as part of a lawsuit
against publisher of the Daily Mail, and he said, quote
(19:02):
the institution he's talking about, the monarchy, was without a
doubt withholding information from me for a long time. He
goes on to say it is not an exaggeration to
say that the bubble has been burst in terms of
what he knew about himself before he moved to America.
(19:23):
He's very, very angry this, this has become his cause now,
and I think it really goes back to his mom
and how she was treated by the press. Haylet's end
with a moment of rob you got Robe, Robigot to
rub show everyone, including yourself, who you are by your actions.
Words are cheap. It's what you do that really counts.
And I think a mistake we all make Mark is
(19:45):
we think love is a feeling. It's not. Love is
an action. If you love somebody, if you love yourself,
do something to prove it. I don't care about your words.
Do something. That is it for today. Thank you so
much for listening to the Naughty but Nice with Rob
and Mark Show, a production of iHeartRadio. Don't forget to
subscribe on the iHeartRadio app Apple podcast. Wherever you listen,
(20:07):
leave us a review if you can. They really do
help and remember all together. Now. We got one review
of Correcting Mystery. I loved it. I loved it. I
thought it was going to be me. They crect it. Oh,
I'm so relieved when it was misty and it's terrible too,
and also too, I got a d M. It was
really really sweet. A long time listener of the show
(20:29):
corrected Gwyneth Paltrow's dress. I said, Calvin Klein, it is
not it was Ralph Fla. We we we're all in
this together. It's all of our show. So you're like
our research unit, you're our news bureau. So thank you
for all those notes. Let's end with our tagline. Remember,
if you're going to be naughty, you you've got to
be nice. Take care of everybody. It's not even nice
(20:53):
with ra
