Speaker 1 (00:09):
Ye Shooters.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Hell no, no, no, loud lady, Welcome to the Nordy
be Nice show. I'm your host, Rubshooter. And it's Friday,
which means normally means that our dear friend Corey Andrew
is with us. And yes, today's a good day because
he he's here. We missed you for a minute, Corey.
Welcome back.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Oh it's so good to be back.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
Rob gosh, but two weeks, I think now it's been
two weeks, but here I am weeks.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Thanks you my friends.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
What have you been up to?

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Anything exciting?

Speaker 1 (00:39):
Well, you know what.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
It is the holiday times, so things are always hectic.
But I did go to a wedding celebration last week
last weekend, and I think I texted you and said,
I sat next to this woman randomly named Stacy Bosco,
who happens to be a thirty year Hollywood gossip writer
from Los Angeles, which is weird because I was in
Delaware the whole which is weird. And she used to

(01:01):
work with the legendary Marilyn Beck that's right, famous gossip
comes and she knew who you were, and we just
thought it was so random and fun that we sat next.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
To each other Oh, it's lovely.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Was she nice about she was so?

Speaker 1 (01:13):
Yeah, totally complimentary.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Yes, yes, it could go either way. I'm normally nice,
but sometimes you get a little bit competitive with people
who do what you do. I try to be the
opposite of that. I try to have a really good
sense of the history of gossip. There Cindy Adams, the
want to Winchells, all the great lines Smith, Yeah, gosh,

(01:36):
legendary names, and Marilyn is certainly up there with them.
So I'm so happy when these worlds connect and leve
leve alone, respect your history. Everybody. Yes, whatever business you're in,
have a Google today and see who came before you,
and I promise you it's really really interesting. I did,
like I thought, I was just going to just read

(01:56):
a few articles. Now, did a really deep dive into
the world of OSIP and how it started, and I
found some of these names and these characters, and I'm
glad that I did. Okay, let's jump into the show.
What time is it, my friends? It is tea time, big,
big story. At the top of the show, Prince Harry
has shut down rumors that him and Megan Markle are

(02:18):
getting divorced. So Harry was in New York, and he
addressed the speculation about his marriage and the trouble in
the marriage as the couple have attended separate events recently.
So speaking with The New York Times, the New York
Times had the hutspur. I'm glad they did to ask
this because The New York Times ten years ago would
never have asked this. They just wouldn't get into this.

(02:38):
It's news, It's what we're talking about. It's sort of
like something I've been battling my entire career, the snob value.
What are we allowed to say? Why are we not
if we ask you a personal question? Is that cheeky? However,
personal news is still news, as Liz Smith used to say,
we quoted we dropped Liz's name at the top of

(02:59):
the show by Smith said the following, and it's true.
Gossip is news running ahead of itself in a red dress.
That's what it is. Gossip is sexy news. It's news
in a red dress. It's news running. And I also
love the following expression, today's gossip is tomorrow's news. And

(03:20):
so the New York Times they asked Harry about this.
Let's be honest. If Harry and Megan god Forbid broke up.
The Times would cover that. It's a huge, huge story.
When Diana and Charles got divorced, the Times covered that,
And so they don't like to ask until it's official,
but they've seen clearly had a bit of a change there.
So they asked Harry how's it going, And they asked him,

(03:42):
is this actually a good thing, all the speculation, because
it just proves that people are fascinated with you and
your wife, And he said, it's definitely not a good thing.
And then he made a joke. He said, apparently we've
bought or moved between ten and twelve times since we
got together. And he said, and apparently we've had maybe
ten to twelve divorces as well. Now the crowd laughed

(04:02):
a little bit. Harry giggled a little bit, but he
did say quite seriously that he feels sorry for the
internet trolls. He said, these people keep hoping that you
will fall, and when you don't, he said, I genuinely
feel sorry for him. So a couple of things here.
I do think addressing a topic that can be awkward
with humor is always good in life. It doesn't matter

(04:24):
what that topic is. And I do believe too, there
is something about people, not just on the internet maybe
unfortunately in your life, who want you to fail.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
There, Corey, Yeah, the same people who build you up
very often too, they're also waiting for the fall. There's
a very strange sort of phenomenon with human beings.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
I think they.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
Love to build you up and then they cannot wait
until you fall down.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
But I don't know.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
Sometimes when it comes to celebrity gossip and stories like this,
especially when you talk to certain brands, like they had
a rumor, but nine times out of ten when it
came down to it, there was some truth to that.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Like some you know, sometimes these rumors are planted.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
And sometimes they're actually real stories that just have that
surface yet and some of us are ahead of them,
and maybe New York Times is maybe onto something.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
But I think the thing about this, though.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
Is Meghan and Harry are a brand together, and so
when you see them separately more than once or twice,
you start to ask. But in real life, husbands and
wives do things separately, so it's not a big deal really, all.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Right, right right, It's like Ben and jerrys are a
brand together. We know them together, we know Harry and Meghan,
and they are trying to separate those brands. It didn't work.
If you have a company and it doesn't work, then
you change, you make an adjustment, you make a correction, right,
And so both of them have realized that the Sussex
brand together it's not as powerful, it's not as strong

(05:47):
as they wanted it to be, really hasn't been that
great a success. So they're getting advice and they probably
agree with this themselves, that their brands of Harry and
Meghan separately would be stronger, would get more attention, would
generate more money, would generate more power, and so I
think that's the route they're going down. However, after a
couple of years of constantly pushing the brand of being

(06:09):
a couple to suddenly change direction, that's where the questions
pop up. And let's be honest, it's really difficult moving countries,
leaving everybody you know for one person. So I'm sure
there's stress there in the marriage. My sources tell me,
like every marriage, there's ups and downs. There's days that
are very difficult. Harry has been very honest about his

(06:30):
mental health struggles. That is not easy. Meghan has been
a great help in that department. Plus they have two kids,
which is never, never easy, and so I think there
are struggles there. Nobody's going to pretend that this is
a perfect princess and prince marriage punintended. This is a
real marriage. They're together, they struggle. Harry really really does struggle.

(06:52):
He misses his family, and so add all this together,
put it all into the mixing part, and obviously you
have a very difficult situation. Yes, I'm told they're working
really hard to make this marriage work, and now they're
trying to figure out the business. Too often couples that
are in business together the marriage suffers.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
Problem.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
Yeah, it's too much, isn't it. So I think actually
them doing their own thing business, not wise, not personally wise,
but business wise is probably a good idea, which brings
us to our pole question of the day. Prince Harry
is shutting down the rumors that him and Megan are
getting divorced. A question is quite simple. Is it better

(07:31):
to address rumors or just ignore them? I could go
either way on this. Sometimes if you address them, oh
you add fuel to the fire. Sometimes if you ignore them,
then they're just gonna keep going on. So what do
you think here? Do you address rumors? Is it better
to address rumors or is it better to ignore them?
Go vert on a page at Naughty Nice Rob or
a Facebook page which is Naughty Gossip, and be sure

(07:53):
to check back on Monday to hear your results. Corey Love,
I know you're gonna like this story.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
What do you work it on? I do? First of all,
I love Bob Mackie.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
Let's just talk about the fact that the legendary designer,
you know, he has this whole like new book out
and there's like a documentary and stuff, and so he's
kind of like doing like a lot of touring and
book signing. But the legendary designer, Bob Mackie, he's known
for creating jaw dropping looks.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
For the biggest names in Hollywood.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
Now it's Cher is the one who comes to mind,
namely because he sort of like brought her back to
pop culture success in nineteen eighty nine when he did
that infamous like spandex catsuit from the If I Could
Turn Back Time video that showed her tattoo on her backside.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
I almost said, I almost said, bum.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
I've been hanging out with BRIT's too long. Apparently I
must say on her bum. But the outfit in question
is a sheer body suit, of course, and had like
a thin strap that left shares tattooed bottom exposed, and
it was a big deal.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
When it came out. I remember that as you know
that video.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
But now Bob Mackie's looking back and he's calling the
look vulgar. That's a quote, and he admits in this
new documentary that he embarrassed by it today.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
Now.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
He also added that sometimes he would tell Share, hey,
you know, you can't wear that for this, for example,
like a certain show or like an award show, and
she would disappointedly say okay, but she'd really.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
Want to wear it. She want to wear So she
became known, of.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
Course, and the Oscars were for wild costumes and everything,
and she ultimately did sort of become known for her
acting finally and she stopped all the wild gowns and dresses.
But this is an iconic look, and I really I
gotta tell you, I don't like when people go back
and they sort of disparage something that really really made
them a lot of money, probably a lot of success,

(09:37):
and then the years later they want to kind of
disparage it.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
It's not a good look, Bob Mackie. I don't think
it's a good look for you.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
That's a really clever sentence. It is not a good look.
I love the video if I could turn back time,
and it did bring chair back.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
It made her and.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
Pull she it was a super stop, but she'd sort
of got away a little bit. She wasn't on the
top ten anymore. This song, this outfit, this video, it's
a it's iconic. I agree with you, Corey. I don't
like it when people look back and try to put
down their past. Let's be honest, Bob Mackie. You're one
of the most legendary designers out there, and you're no
one for these costumes. It wasn't like you were dressing

(10:12):
Julie Andrews your entire life and then you did one
with shit like you dressed. I saw what she wore
for the Oscars, Bob. It wasn't that dissimilar from what
she wore in the music video. So I don't get
it one. I just think it makes no sense to me.
If you don't like this look, then it's impossible basically
to like any Bob Mackie, because if you look at

(10:32):
if you look at the outfit. You know immediately it's
Bob Mackie, which I think is a compliment. This happens
a lot, doesn't it. When people don't want to talk
about their pastor they put it down. Madonna did this
for a long time. Madonna wouldn't sing like a Virgin,
or she wouldn't sing material Girl or all those songs
that originally made her a superstar. She looked down and

(10:53):
nose upon. I remember in the cast of Friends, they
didn't want to talk about Friends. When you interviewed Jennifer,
you couldn't ask about And I was like, oh, sweetie,
that's the only reason I'm talking to you. I'm right too,
but I do think this is not a good look. Okay,
moving along, I think this is a very good look.
Nicole Ritchie is saying that she gets really real with

(11:14):
her kids and they know everything about her. So the
former simple lifestyle you remember her on that show with
Paris Hilton. She's now forty three and she's pulling no
punches when it comes to parenting her teenage kids. She
has teenagers, Harlow who's seventeen and Sparrow, who is fifteen.
In a candid interview, she revealed that she's transparent with
her children about her wild past, saying that the truth

(11:36):
is only going to come out eventually. And she said,
at the moment, they might not know everything by themselves,
but it's only going to be a manner of time
when they can start googling me. And she said, I
did have a wild past. I had fun years. She
said some of those years were a little bit troublesome too,
but she said she's come out of it and now
she can talk about it. What do you think about

(11:56):
keeping secrets from your kids.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
Yeah, I think she's really doing a wise thing here.
But it's a balance because I think a lot of
parents they want to be honest, but they don't want
to seem like they're condoning the behavior so that the
child will then go and repeat it. Because a lot
of times you're hoping your child will know to learn
from the mistakes that mommy and daddy are sharing, but
you might also spark curiosity and they want to now

(12:20):
go and experience it. And let's just face it, when
it comes to like the party scene and a lot
of the stuff that Nicole probably did in Hollywood, it's
a very dangerous time now because with that whole you know,
I mean she she used drugs. I mean that was
let's be honest, that was part of her thing. You know,
kids got to be really careful today with the right
of passage of experimentation because we're in a very dangerous

(12:43):
different time with.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
People doing things to you.

Speaker 3 (12:45):
So I would say it's a scary balance for a
parent to be honest.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
You want to know.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
I think you're right. I'm pretty transparent about my past.
All though I was never that wild. It's never call
Richie drugs and dance until six o'clock in the morning,
going to places I shouldn't go to. We're not part
of my repertoire. I was quite boring in Edinburgh growing up,
and so my past word, I think I'm really really
cool by being transparent. My friends are like, Rob, You've
got nothing to tell. There's not that much. That's how

(13:13):
are you a boat talking about your past?

Speaker 1 (13:15):
Corey?

Speaker 3 (13:16):
You know, I will just share a little brief, little
summary there that I in my nineties in New York City.
They were a bit like Nicole Richie's and I've and
I literally had to get it together because I had
to say, this is not what I came to New
York to do. I came here with a purpose, and
this is a distraction. So I literally for three years
was wild in New York City and.

Speaker 1 (13:37):
It was a blast. Were talking about do not look
back on the past.

Speaker 3 (13:40):
Negatively. I would not change a thing. It brought me
forward to where I am today. So you have to
also embrace your past. But yeah, I have no problem
talking about it because I like to help people avoid
my pitfalls of youth.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
So I share. I share.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
You're a good good man, Corey. Okay, quickly, before we
get a break, Nicholas Shay is talking out about his
past and specifically something he never talks about, Jessica Simpson,
saying that divorce left him with scars. What did he
have to say?

Speaker 3 (14:07):
Yeah, so nick Leche, you know, he had that wonderful
reality show which I thought was great back in a
day with he and Jessica. But he's fifty one years
old and he's shedding light on an emotional toll now
that his two thousand and six divorce took on him
and when he divorced Jessica Simpson, and he says that,
you know he now he's with his new wife, Vanessa Lachae,
and he's really really happy about that marriage. He says,

(14:28):
he was previously married. I was divorced, so I understand
the hurt because he's now he's on the show season
three of the show called The Ultimatum, and that's where
he serves as co host alongside his wife Vanessa. Now
he's emphasizing that the importance of not letting the pass
to find the future is really really it's a big
deal for him, and he says, what I always truly
wanted in my life was to have a beautiful marriage

(14:50):
and a beautiful family. And if I hadn't retained my
belief in that, I wouldn't have ever realized the beautiful
life I have with this woman.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
So he says that.

Speaker 3 (14:58):
Referring to his wife Vanessa, who he married twenty eleven.
And what I do like about that is he does
not disparage Jessica. That's very inforate because sometimes people can
be bitter.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
And you were her publicist.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
Yeah, I worked for it. I did the divorce statement. Yeah,
I was working with the two of them when they
got broke up. I wrote the statement and I had
to issue it, and so I was with Jessica the
day that they filed for divorce, Like I was there, Wow,
and he wanted something different. Nick really did want a
family and acquieter life, and Jessica didn't. Jessica enjoyed being
Jessica Simpson and they just didn't go together. So I

(15:31):
do agree. I think this is a truthful thing to say.
There's pains, there's scars from the past, but it's also
a nice thing to say because he doesn't put her
down while he is saying it. Okay, we're going to
take a quick break and we will be right back.
Welcome back to the Naughty but Nice Show. I'm going
to shoot her with our dear friend Corey Andrew. Hey,
let's get to the polls. Last show, we talked about

(15:54):
Pete davidson shocking revelation about how much money Saturday Night
Live cast members mate. He said they make about three
thousand an episode, which is a lot of money if
they do a show every week. They only do eighteen
to twenty two shows a year, so it ends up
being about fifty to sixty thousand a year. They do
not earn lots and lots and lots of money. You're

(16:14):
renting New York can cost that, so it's a really
difficult thing. My question was do they deserve more to
have a look? Oh, seventy percent said yes, they do
deserve more. That show brings in millions and millions and
millions of dollars and the cast members only get about
three thousand an episode. Now, some of you are like, well,

(16:35):
that's only for an hour and a half, two hours
work on a Saturday night. No, they work all week
done that show. In fact, the only day they get
off is Sunday and maybe Monday. Tuesday they are back
at it. Hey, don't forget to vote on today's Paul.
Go to our Twitter page at Naughty Nice Rob or
our Facebook page which is Naughty Gossip. I'm be sure

(16:56):
to check back on Monday to hear your results. And
now I love this. It's time for that nice.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (17:05):
Well, Taylor Swift's her new tour books. It's a tour
book of the Era's tour is rewriting the record books.
There's a mouthful there, but exclusively. It's been sold through Target.
It launched on Black Friday for the price of thirty
nine nine to nine of hardcover, and it's sold a
staggering eight hundred and fourteen thousand copies over Thanksgiving weekend,
making it the biggest publishing launch of twenty twenty four.

(17:28):
That's also a big deal because people are so in
the digital space nowadays. You got audio books, they're not
really the idea of that many hard copy books selling
is a really big deal. And so she had the
second largest nonfiction debut in Sircana's history. That's the publishing house,
and it's just just behind Obama's A Promised Land, which
sold eight hundred and sixteen thousand copies in its first week.

(17:51):
So just think about that, like there's Obama and then
there's Taylor Swift. Like that is like pop culture, like
the top of the line there as far as representation
of pop culture. So unlike Obama's memoir, which was widely available,
Swift's book was only sold through Target, which is even
more impressive when you think about how.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
Much it's sold.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
And so now at this point, you know, it's all
really just about promoting how great her tour was, which
her errors Tour grossed over two hundred million at the
theaters when that film came out and became the highest
grossing concert movie in history. So Taylor remains to be
on fire.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
Fire.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
Yeah, five five.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
I got a copy of the book to Taylor, thirty
nine ninety nine. It's not cheap, but it's worth every penny.
It's a fabulous book. And if you did see her too,
I was lucky enough to see the show, you can reminisce.
She gave me tickets. I didn't have to pay.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
Oh my god, you took right or something. You took that.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
And they also got me tickets for my nieces in London.
I got two double dips. So Taylor, I'm actually quite
happy to give you thirty nine ninety nine if you
think about it. I just did the bath, but I
have a calculator here, and I didn't do it in
my head. If the book's thirty nine ninety nine and
she sold eight hundred thousand, and that's thirty two or
so million, nice work if you can get it. Yeah, okay,
let's do it.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
Or is the day?

Speaker 2 (18:59):
It's probably me and what is the day? Harry and
William who had separate tributes for their mommy, Princess Diana
and her annual awards. So there's an awards in Britain
that's given it. It's called the Princess Diana Award. It's
an amazing organization. Harry sent her a video saying his
mother's belief in the power of the young people to
drive positive change continues to inspire him. Very nice. William,

(19:22):
who is in London, he delivered his own tribute. We
don't know exactly what he said, but sources are telling
me that the focus remained on celebrating the award winners
and preserving his mom's legacy. I do wish, particularly when
it comes to their mom, that these two could come together.
I know it's hard, isn't it. Oh, Diana would not
break this. Let's end with a murment. Would you get

(19:47):
rid of the idea that you must please other people?
You begin to follow your own instincts and then only
then can you be successful. While you're trying to please
other people, will never find success. You gotta please yourself
and then I promise you success will come. Hey, that
is it for this week. Thank you so much for
