Speaker 1 (00:10):
Oh sugar, it's nice.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
It's not name.
Speaker 3 (00:14):
Hello, welcome to the Non Even I Show. I'm your host,
Rob Shooter, and it is Monday, which means our dear
friend Garrett. The girl joins, as you just look directly
into your zoom camera and made me smile. Garrett. Hello, Garrett,
how are you?
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Rob Shooter?
Speaker 4 (00:28):
This has to be like the day after the super Bowl,
the day after the Oscars, the day after everything big,
because the weekend long coronation has finally come to an end,
and I guess we are here, Well you're here. I'm
more here as like just you know, the Pretty Boy Show,
to recap everything royal that happened in the UK.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
Am I correct, you are correct.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
You're wrong on one thing. It's not the day after Christmas.
It's not the day after the super Bowl. It's like
the day after I first met you.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
That's my Rob Shuter.
Speaker 4 (01:03):
I mean I am spoken for but greatly appreciated.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
That's how it feels. Okay, jump into the whole episode.
We're devoting to the Royals. We're throwing out a little
bit of our structure. We're not gonna naughtiest than the
nicest of the day because everybody is nice because it's
my favorite day, my favorite weekend. So we're going to
jump in with all the royal gossip. If you were
obsessed with royals, you are in the right place. If
you don't like the royals, this is going to be
torture for the next twenty minutes. Let's jump in. What
(01:31):
time is it, my friends? It is tea time coronation,
tea Time, coronation. Sip up, my friends, So big story
at the top of the show. Harry has wasted no
time to get back to the US after the coronation,
so he left less than an hour after his dad's
coronation ended. He rushed back to California to make it
(01:52):
home in time for his son Arch's fourth birthday. He
was spotted in the VP Wins suite aptly aptly named,
and he throw out airport at three pm Local time,
So this means that Harry was in the UK for
less than twenty four hours. He took a commercial flight,
(02:15):
not a not a fancy private flight the people and
a man of the people. But he did make it
home by about seven pm Local time, which means with
traffic getting to his house, so he landed sorry at
seven pm. He made it home, probably till not nine ish,
so he might have missed the birthday party, but I'm
(02:36):
sure he was home in time to give his little
boy a birthday kiss, a good night kiss. What do
you think?
Speaker 1 (02:43):
You know?
Speaker 4 (02:44):
My and I told you this, my take on this situation,
at least in this of being put between a rock
and a hard place of your father's coronation or your
son's fourth birthday. I mean, like, no matter what, if
he missed any of them, he would have been the
worst guy in the world, you know what I mean.
But he did what any smart person does. You make
the best of it, and you attend both, even if
(03:06):
you travel, if you get on a plane and travel
more than you're actually at a location, just to say
you were there.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
I think he did it. Credit to Harry. I mean,
come on.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
Yeah, I'm with you on this one. Have you ever
been in those positions? I've never been invited, my dad's
not never being crowned king. But some nights I bite
off more than I can chew, and I did drink
with too many different people, and I find myself spending
more time in a taxi than actually enjoying people's company.
But it has to be done. You have to juggle.
Life is difficult, so I'm proud of Harry for making both.
(03:40):
Some people are saying he was snubbed at the coronation.
He was in the third row, so he was with
his cousin's Eugenie and Beatrice in the third row. I
don't think this was a snub. He said he didn't
want to be a member of the working royal family anymore.
So all the working royals were in the first and
the second row. The third row were relatives, but not
(04:01):
people that worked in the company. What do you think
should they found one extra seat for him in the
front row? Or is third row fine?
Speaker 4 (04:07):
Technically yes, but at the end of the day, it's
the third row. You and I have been to many
of Broadway shows and we all know the front row.
You don't want to sit there because there's so much
Do you want to sit.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
Front row Broadway?
Speaker 4 (04:17):
I mean, you want to sit in the third row
at least because you can see everything you know, like.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
And you know what.
Speaker 4 (04:24):
Credit to the third row because again, Harry, man of
the people sitting in the third row probably haven't seen
most of his aunts and uncles and cousins in quite
a while and you.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
Know, oh, Harry's I love Harry.
Speaker 4 (04:36):
And you know what, he won points over with all
those all those quote unquote common family members by sitting
in the third row. But yeah, at the end of
the day, I mean family, family is family like like it.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
I think it.
Speaker 4 (04:49):
Looks poor on the the the newly crowned king to say,
you know what, you are my blood and I want
nothing to do with you sitting in the front row. Yeah,
that's kind of silly.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
Maybe I don't. I don't stand on ceremonies like that.
When I go back to Britain to see my family.
If I'm not on the front row, who don't really
go anywhere. But if I got third row tickets to
Taylor Swift, I'd be very happy. Let's put it like that,
third row is pretty great. I've sat right.
Speaker 4 (05:19):
Let's take it like, this is your sister married? You
have a sister, right, Yes, I have three sisters. They're
all married. They're all married. All right, let's just take
one of them. Let's just say they're getting married for
the first time. Yes, you, as part of the family,
have your sister, go Bobby?
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Does she call you Bobby?
Speaker 4 (05:34):
She calls me Robert Robert, Robert, I'm going to put
you in the third fine, absolutely fine.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
You would yes sister's wedding.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
You know, I'm fine with my mum and dad are
in the first row, her favorite sisters in the forest.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
And I don't like you for this.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
I'm fine with the third row. But what did make
me laugh is sitting directly in front of him was
Princess Ann. That's Charles's sister, and she's no nonsense and
had a huge feather sticky out of her hat. So
it looked as if they had buried Harry behind Anne's feather. Now,
if you remember the last time the two of them,
(06:11):
Meghan and Harry were in Britain for the Queen's funeral,
some people claim that they hit Meghan behind an enormous candle.
So now people are saying they deliberately put him behind
Ann's hat. If Princess Anne was sitting in front of
you and she had a big hat on with a
big feather, would you ask her to remove her hat?
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Well?
Speaker 4 (06:32):
Yes, And I also envisioned like that that feather tickling
Harry like in the nose, like it's getting in his way,
and then he sneezes and everybody's like shoe and they
look at It's like, oh, Harry trying to take the
limelight away her hat again, he.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
Can't we talking about People are saying she was badass
and slaying it as the coronation. Technically, she was her
brother's body guard, so there was a lot of people
there guarding came. We saw a lot of them about
four thousand and five thousand tree. But I'm told there
were hundreds of undercover people too. But the technical role
is called gold stick in weighting, and what that means
(07:09):
is that you are the personal bodyguard for the king
during the procession. That's why Anne had the feather in
her hat, and that's why she rode on a horse
behind the carriage. If I became king, you would be
my gold stick. Garage sounds a little bit dirty.
Speaker 4 (07:26):
I'm already your gold stick and I said stick by
the way, So you're telling me they put this feather
in her hat just to treat her like a child
at Disney World that wears a balloon on the back
of their packtacks or their parents know where they are
at all time.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
You're getting very close to being said to the tower
by friend.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
I will get out I know the Rapunzel story.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
You have lovely hair, grow that lovely hair. Okay, moving along,
disgraced Prince Andrew. He was booed on his way to
Westminster Abbey. The young brother of King Charles. Traveled through
the streets in a state car, but people were booing him.
It was tricky because he's a bad man. But yeah,
(08:13):
he's still a member of the family. Talk about burying
somebody on the third row. I don't even know if
I would have invited Andrew my brother.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
What do you think?
Speaker 4 (08:23):
Do you realize we're treating Harry the same way we're
treating Prince Andrew like. It's almost as if they're on
the same level. And I think we all know that
Andrew is beyond like, not even like. It makes Harry
look like a saint in the sense of asking to
leave the family versus Prince Andrew, who is you know,
obviously lost without his friend Jeffrey Epstein on this planet Earth.
(08:45):
So I mean, let's let's let's all think about that
every time everybody goes, oh, Prince Harry, think he is
not the same as Prince Andrew. We should be chastising
Prince Andrew way more than we do to Harry.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
I totally agree. In fact, some people are saying, I
agree that Andrew was treated better that day than Harry.
Andrew really was treated better that day than Harry. It's amazing.
It's so so so wrong, Kay, let's do some nice stuff.
So Kate Middleton stunned. She was wearing Alexander McQueen. That's
the same designer who designed her wedding dress back in
(09:19):
twenty eleven or so two. At the Big concert yesterday,
Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, Kate turned up in a beautiful
red pantsuit and that also too, was by Alexander McQueen.
People are asking what did she have on her head?
It was not an official tiara. In fact, it was
a new piece designed by McQueen. I think it looked
amazing and I like this too. She had a little reference.
(09:41):
Her daughter, Charlotte wore a very similar color dress a
similar color head piece, both designed by Alexander McQueen. Now
was a fashion easter, Garrett, who's your go to fashion?
If you were going to the coronation, who would you
call up and say make me a gown?
Speaker 1 (09:58):
Ah? Well, I aw a gown? Oh no, I'm not
very well versed in the.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
Or a suit, Darling, what about a suit?
Speaker 1 (10:04):
Well, yeah, suit.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
Then I would go tom Ford, Oh yes, tom Ford, definitely,
but you know you can't. I think I would say
Alexander McQueen, like I would be like one of those
one of those like Disney Disneys where the poor man,
you know, gets this this opportunity to go to the
coronation and you just hear someone go, oh, Alexander McQueen,
(10:25):
that one.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
Harry was indor Harry looked good in a d Or suit,
a three piece d Or suit. I love the fashion.
We have to talk about this and your dad so
you can tell us all about this. The kids really
stole the show. Little Louis George Charlotte grown up, Oh adorable.
So Loui is only five years old, and he was
spotted in the car waving, waving frantically on his way
(10:49):
to Westminster Abbey. After the abbey they returned to Buckingham
Palace in his coach and he was waving in that.
Little George is nine. He had a role, a special
role during the service. He was a page boy and
he had to carry his grandfather's robe down the church.
I think it was four of them. I thought this
was really sweet too. Charlotte has taken on this role.
(11:11):
She's eight years old and really looking after little Louis.
They were spotted holding hands. It was really adorable. They
were holding hands throughout the ceremony. And get this, sources
tell me there wasn't nanny ready to whisk Louie away
if he was naughty. If you remember at the coronation
he kept pulling faces. I think it actually was the
highlight of the coronation, So there wasn't nanny there ready
(11:33):
to whisk him away. And he did disappear for about
an hour. The ceremony was two hours long, and for
about an hour and a half Louis disappeared, and then
he returned at the end to see God save the King.
What's it like toting up with kids?
Speaker 4 (11:47):
Well, of course, but you know that hour is either
well spent an iPad of watching you know, like Bluey maybe,
or watch eating some cheerios or puffs just to you know,
make the time pass by. Are having a little drawing
pad and uh, you know, you know, sketching some some
things that are out there. But I mean, they're they're
(12:07):
they're kids, and and for anyone to go, oh no,
how like they're five, there are nine at the end
of the day.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
I'm sure they understand to.
Speaker 4 (12:17):
A degree, but but it's just big glitz and glam
to them.
Speaker 1 (12:20):
It's big colorful things.
Speaker 4 (12:21):
And they'll learn about it when they're eighteen nineteen and
understand how how important it was. But yeah, they're they're
they're kids, and for for to sit there, it's a
lot like remember, like I I look at this as
when I was a kid, and I don't know how
religious you were, but like when you would go to
church on Sunday, it would.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
Just as a kid, it would be it would be
kind of boring.
Speaker 4 (12:45):
So so imagine sitting there and dressing up and like
like the kids have as a kid. Do these royal
kids have to be dressed up as they are as
we see them on TV all the time or are.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
They in like sweat you know, sweatpants and a hood
but we.
Speaker 3 (12:58):
Don't see them they're in sweatpants and jeans, and so
they live a very sort of normal, very special, normal
life when they're not in front of the cameras. I
think they did a splendid job, and I think William
and Kate have done a beautiful job with their children,
and they really do try to keep them out of
the spotlight when they are not at big public events.
But I can't imagine, I mean, just being a young
boy knowing that one day you're going to be king
(13:19):
and the horses and seeing all those people dressed up
and getting dressed up yourself and seeing crowns and cakes.
I think it's exciting, it's kind of cool.
Speaker 4 (13:27):
Imagine being nine years old, can imagine like fine understanding
the fact that one day, like you dream like, oh
I want to be Superman when I.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
Grew up, like you're going to be a freaking king.
You're going to be a king.
Speaker 4 (13:40):
Like there's no there's no like, oh maybe I won't,
maybe I won't, well unless you're Harry, But.
Speaker 1 (13:46):
But he's he's gonna be a freaking king.
Speaker 3 (13:48):
He's going to be a king. He's going to be
a king. Talking of the next king, there's a really
sweet moment when Prince William knelt before his dad, King
Charles and kissed him on the cheek. This family is
not really known for public affections, so to see William
kiss his father on the cheek, he took a pledge,
a pledge of loyalty to the king. It was a
(14:09):
symbolic moment which marks William, who is the heir to
the throne, that he has a mutual obligation to the monarchy.
After he kissed King Charles, the King whispered thank you, William,
and I think it was a lovely united front, and
it sort of reminded you that the monarchy will go
on and on and on. It will be passed on.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
So here, like, I don't know if you know how
it works.
Speaker 4 (14:35):
You know with the president and the vice president where
you know they can't with the exception of major events,
they're never in the same room. Yeah, that's right, you
know what I mean, just in case God forbid something
for it to ever happen. So does this apply now
with the king and his son where they really can't
be in the same.
Speaker 3 (14:53):
It's a good question. It applied from the day he
was born, So from the day William was born, they're
not allowed to be on the same flight together. Then
are allowed to be on the same helicopter together. They
are allowed to be inside Buckingham Palace together, and Westminster Abbey.
But there is that concern that they want continuation of
the monarchy the line of succession is protected like here
(15:15):
with the President and the vice presidents, so there are
protocols in place here. Also to William and his son,
little George, who's going to be king, they don't fly
together when they travel. William often travels separately, has to
travel with the kids. I know he look at him.
He gets away flying with.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
Hey, don't we need to do this, Hudson.
Speaker 3 (15:40):
Hudson, you can travel with Bobby. Daddy will fly peacefully
by himself. This is fascinating. So people are confused. Now
who is Camilla? What's her title? Camilla is the Queen
and so there's many reports that should be the Queen Consort.
That is not true. She is now the Queen and
they referred to her as the Queen on the Royal
web site ahead of the coronation. The Royal Family's website
(16:04):
has now ditched Queen Consort title for Camilla and they
simply refer to her as the Queen. I thought this
was odd too, but maybe it's a sweet thing. Camilla's
ex husband Andrew Parker Bowles was at the Curron Nation
despite her twenty year affair she had with Prince Charles.
(16:25):
I don't know if I was Andrew if I'd want
to go.
Speaker 4 (16:29):
I mean, if that if that's not like written into
the next episode of The Crown, like I mean, like
that is that is that is royal soap oper drama
at its highest right there. I'm sure do you know,
like if this was like on on ABC at twelve
thirty this afternoon, you know, the ex would be running
(16:51):
down the aisle like as if it was a wedding
and be like, no.
Speaker 2 (16:56):
Eggs, your ex is the This is what makes the
Harry stuff so so weird, Like Harry, but they could
invite her ex who she cheated on.
Speaker 4 (17:06):
We have so we have Prince Andrew right, discrete disgrace
just treated just like Harry. Then we had the husband,
the ex husband who was a part of a twenty
year long affair, sitting there treated better than better than
the guy's own son. I mean, this is why I'm
(17:26):
saying Team Harry realized what him through a question about
Camilla because I saw this photo. Was there three or
four different Camilla's standing there.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
As body doubles? What was her sister photo? So?
Speaker 3 (17:39):
What was her sister? Who?
Speaker 1 (17:40):
Did?
Speaker 3 (17:40):
I mean they look alike her friend?
Speaker 1 (17:44):
It was just in case, like there was I wish.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
I wish, honestly, I love that ry because they did
look similar. But what was her sister? One was her
friend for a really long time, who did an interview
that day calling her the queen and said, it's just remarkable.
She had known Camilla for forty fifty years and now
she has to bow to her friend. Gosh, Garrett, if
you married the king and became the queen.
Speaker 4 (18:05):
To be honest, do you make me bow to you
all the time like that? No one sees that because
you know they're listening to us right now.
Speaker 3 (18:12):
I like you a little bit.
Speaker 1 (18:13):
I'm gonna I'm gonna let it, let everybody in on
a little secret.
Speaker 4 (18:16):
When I first met Rob, he goes, please always greet
me with a curtsy or a bow, depending on what
you're wearing at the time. I know, I take you
more for a killed skirt, gentlemen, but you're killed exactly
your head.
Speaker 1 (18:30):
So everything. For ten years now, I've been bowing to
Rob Shooter.
Speaker 4 (18:35):
So before we get more back into the coronation, about
the coronation with the performances. So I found it quite
interesting though, uh if you look at it, So Katie Perry,
Lionel Richie and uh uh aha.
Speaker 3 (18:46):
Or that was British groups.
Speaker 4 (18:49):
Yes, so Ed Sheeran turned down the chance to perform
at the coronation right. Ed Shearon ends up on American
Idol last night behind in the judges table. You know
why because the two judges that normally said that that
are Perry and Lionel Richie are are literally at where
(19:09):
Ed Cheran was requested to be at, which he turned
down because he was busy. And then on top of that,
they do a live feed where King Charles ends up
on American Idol last night being interviewed by Katie Perry
and Lionel Richie as Ed Sheeran sitting there and going, hey, guys,
I thought we weren't gonna do this because it's a
busy I looked at Ed sheer and and I like
(19:32):
not to say he had an eye roll, but it
was like, Okay.
Speaker 3 (19:35):
It's a little awkward. It is a little awkward. I've
told you he's just got a new album mat and
his priority is selling that, and I think he thought
it'd sell more albums about going on idle than performing
in Britain. Plus they wanted the hits. They don't want
you to sink your new stuff. They want a hit. Hey, quickly,
before we get a break. We have a few more
royal items. We have to tell you about the balcony,
the big balcony moment. This was invented by Queen Victoria,
(19:57):
and so she was the first one that went out
on the balcony. The first ever royal public affection we
ever saw. The first time we ever saw royal's kiss,
it was on that balcony. It was Charles and Diana,
and so Camilla and Charles did come out on the balcony.
Everybody's talking. Harry not there. Harry was always already on
his way to the airport. So the minute the ceremony
(20:18):
ended at the Abbot, everybody went back to the palace
and Harry went to the airport.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
Yeah, Harry was at pre check.
Speaker 3 (20:24):
He was out of there. And then I love this
story to Kate and William put out a statement saying
what a day. Thank you everybody who made it happen.
I love this. It was a little video attribute to
to all the highlights of the day. They have a
social media team who are fantastic. I thought it was
(20:44):
lovely for them to do that, and it's such a
great thing to say, what period a period day?
Speaker 1 (20:51):
It really was that.
Speaker 4 (20:52):
That's the equivalent of here in the States on a
text message when you're texting with friends, so it'd be
what clap clap emoji day clap emoji.
Speaker 3 (21:04):
Thank you for the translation, my friend. That is it
for today. What a day we've had. Thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
What's next? What's the next royal thing?
Speaker 3 (21:14):
Because I think it's going to be a store. We're
going to want to know what Meghan's up to. What's
the big thing next. We're going to be constantly watching
Kate and William. It never ends. There are Kardashians, so
we will always, I promise, keep you up to speed
with all that breaking news. That's it for today. Thank
you so much for listening to this special edition of
The Naughty but My Show with Robin Garrett, a production

Apple podcast wherever you listen, leave us a review if
