Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's the VC Show. It's the VC Show. It's the
VC Show. It's the Dude, Let's Get Show Season two. Yeah,
we back again, got the world. Tune in there for show.
So though with tell of friends, my heart got me
on the US Slam duncan whistle blow on there. Kick
your feet up so you can listen. It's the VC Show.

(00:27):
It's the VC Show. It's the VC Show.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
It's the v C du Let's all right, all right,
welcome to the VC Show. I'm your host VC, and
we have a lot of interesting topics to talk about today.
So kick your feet up. The VC Show starts now,
hold on what they got? What they wanted? Ben Shata

(00:55):
you want and Supreme? What's going on? Everyone? Very very
interesting week, week and a half of basketball, a lot
of interesting topics things to talk about. And I'm going
to jump right in and get started with the Jamal
Murray fine not suspension, but he was fined and not

(01:18):
suspended for well, he was fine for one hundred thousand
for throwing the towel, which in essence, the hot pack
flies out, flies on the court, into play onto the court.
And I was in conversation with some other NBA guys.

(01:38):
I was with Channel conversation with Chadler, Parsons and lou
Will just talking about it, and you know, everybody has
their opinion on this, and my opinion is this. I
understand that he's upset, and I hear people's opinions on this,

(01:59):
but my thing is is the hot pack flew on
the court. Whether that wasn't his intention or not, you
have to deal with the consequences where it's coming from you.
It goes on the floor, it goes into the middle
of paint. I originally said it went to the elbow.
It went into the middle of paint. It was a

(02:23):
Denver player kicks it, cat somewhat steps on it, but
kind of goes by like that could have been an
ankle injury, slip fall, whatever the case may be. You
just don't know. I can see if the hot pack
flies to the baseline, not really on the floor, barely
on the court. Okay, you guys have a or you know,

(02:45):
whoever feels that no suspension should have been had you
have a legitimate right. In my mind, I just felt
that it went further than that because it was really
where players could actually get hurt, and and that's where
I like, okay, the fine absolutely And I heard a
comment where I don't know what it was, but it

(03:09):
was said that they didn't find or suspend him because
they wanted him to continue to play and get this
butt whipping that they're receiving. But I said, it would
hit home even harder if it was the other way around.
You're you're now suspended, You're sitting in the hotel because

(03:32):
they're going on the road. You're now sitting in the
hotel and you have to watch the results from home
because of this suspension. And I know he's injured and
not feeling well and whatnot, But I just think it
hits home a little more when now, regardless of how
we feel, he feels, whoever feels, if he cannot play

(03:56):
because of it, you know that that hits home because
I mean, like a lot of players said, I've never
seen that happen before. Interested to hear your guys comments
on it. Everybody's entitled to their opinion, as some of
you know, maybe you don't. I'm a huge fan, but
being a fan of someone has nothing to do with

(04:18):
the consequence and the severity of what could have happened. Yeah,
nothing happened. I hear you some of you guys saying that,
or we'll say that, But what if it did. That's
my whole thing, because let's put the shoe on the
other foot. If it happened on the other end of
the floor, Denver's bench would go crazy looking for a suspension.
If this happened to another player that has always let's

(04:42):
let's call a space. If it happened to Draymond, if
it happened to Pat Bev, some of the guys that
we know that get fined at the drop of a hat,
would it be a suspension more than likely, that's all.
And I'm looking at more so the action and where
the hot pack actually landed on the floor, which could
have ended in a bad way, or you know, you know,

(05:04):
I don't want to take any of the bad way,
but we could have seen an injured player because it
was a live action dead ball. If the game wasn't
in action and it happened on the floor, you guys
got a legitimate gripe in my mind just to find
still goes on the floor. But yes, it wasn't in
live play, but it was in live play, and I
just think that's where it's kind of like you know,

(05:28):
you have to deal with your actions, whether it was
a mistake and accident or whatnot. So that's all I
have to say about that. I'm gonna move on to
Pat Bev. He gets the four games suspension for throwing
a ball in the stands twice, and suspension was warranted. Yes,

(05:49):
he apologized, and you know after when things like that happened,
the league calls you to get your side of the story.
I know there's still an open investigation in Indiana or whatnot.
It's four games enough. I can go either way with this,

(06:13):
So I think I'm just glad a suspension happened, because yes,
he made a mistake, he did apologize, whether people accepted
or whatever or not. More than anything, he hit a
young girl in the head first, obviously missing his target.

(06:35):
And it's kind of funny. The guy gets the ball
to give the ball back to Pat Bev to an essence,
receive a dart right back at him. So yeah, you know,
Pat just letting the motions get the best of him.
I think he would admit that. I hope he admits that.
So and then also the suspension about well, the way

(06:59):
he treated the reporter or producer or whatnot. So a
lot added in, a lot going on with that, So
I'll be interested to see what comes of this open investigation.
So we'll stay tuned in that and hopefully either you
guys or I'll give you an update and we'll chat

(07:21):
about it some more. Let's move on. Let's move on.
Let's talk about the MVP race. Nicola Jokic, the Joker,
wins his third MVP in four years. Congratulations to him.
I mean, it's it's deserving. I mean, he've had a

(07:44):
great year. I personally, at the same time felt SGA
want it. It's just it's it's you know, And I'm
not sitting here saying it's the board with the the

(08:05):
Yokis thing, because I felt that was the race, either
Jokic or SGA, and I felt SGA was playing at
a very high level on the best team in the NBA.
So that's that's kind of my defense, my opinion. Whatever

(08:30):
you choose to that, again, well deserved, Ah you Yoki
is playing great Denver, you know, number two in the West.
But I just felt like SGA was on the best
team and played was playing some amazing basketball. And I know,

(08:55):
I know people are gonna start throwing up steps. Well,
look what he doesn't have on the team. He doesn't
have this, what does SGA have? We could say the
same for him as well. I mean, he has young
guys that are playing extremely hard. They're getting a job done.
So I mean, if this is a debate, I think

(09:15):
every year it's gonna you're gonna have some debate on
why it should be someone else and not that. So,
you know, that's just my opinion. I felt like SGA
was playing at that level, but at the same time
jo Kids was was and is playing amazing. Now it
segues into my grip about this whole thing. So sometimes

(09:38):
I think our mind or fans mind and feelings for
who should win this award gets skewed because we tend
to forget and not saying that all people don't understand
it or realize it, but we tend to forget it
from that This is a regular season award. It doesn't

(10:02):
spill into the playoffs. So regardless of you know, in
years past, regardless of players playing at a high level
in the playoffs, sometimes you tend to see comments like,
oh man, look at what he's doing in the playoffs.
He deserves the MVP. On top of however, they play
in the regular season and it does not work that way.

(10:23):
And not saying that all of you do or do
not know that, but I like to say that's what
bothers me. With the awards and waiting so long, sometimes
I think we get into where that's where the discrepancy
or some people feel like, well this this, or he's
playing like this, look at what he's doing in the playoffs. Well,

(10:44):
that has nothing to do with what they did and
the body of work that was done in the regular season.
So that's the one thing I just wish the NBA
would change. I think within once the season is over, however,
they tally up, go about you know, getting their their

(11:07):
numbers and and and and whatnot, votes from fans, play
coaching or whoever's all you know, chooses to vote. They
just got to find a way to get these in.
And I think I think by the time the play
in tournament is over, leading into game one of the
first round, we should have these awards coming out and

(11:32):
understanding you know who won what. And I think it
takes it'll kind of kill a little bit of the
noise of all of the debates that kind of lasting
too we're in the second round. Now, we're getting there,
and this is what we're talking about now. Just feel
like some people's views of who's winning. Uh, and maybe
this is not the situation, but in years past it

(11:54):
spilled into playoff play, which has nothing to do with
this award or all of these awards, which are regular
season awards. And I want that to be understand. I understood.
But Sga, Jalen Brunson, Anthony Edwards to name three, and
there's some others. But I think those three are playing

(12:14):
the best basketball right now and there's really no debate.
You know, maybe you guys may have another player who
could throw in there, but I'm just saying the superstars
are really coming to play the I mean, you can
say the Knicks are playing some great basketball, but the

(12:37):
Timberwolves are playing great basketball right now. I think the
Vincenzo and Joss Hart, you can throw them. But I'm
just talking about the superstars of today and the next up,
well they're here now, but the next up superstars are
I mean, what Ant is doing, how he's playing, how

(13:00):
he goes about his game the same way. I mean,
it's it's they're all the same, the same with Jalen.
The way he's playing, We're talking about an undersized guy
that is dominating, like a six foot eight wing player.
Now he plays with a demeanor, very little expression, but

(13:23):
his game speaks volumes. And of course sga is. I
mean this team they have, you know, they have not
lost in the playoffs, and I'm sorry shout out to
lou Will who brought that to my attention, because I
spoke about this earlier today and he brought to my attention.
How there again, the best player on the best team

(13:44):
has not lost in the playoffs yet. So shout out
to those guys, and it is making me a fun
an interesting playoffs, interesting playoffs to watch, regardless of if
you're interested in some of these games or not. No

(14:08):
that Cavs Magic series had some interest to it. I
just think, you know, great play, young guys getting an
opportunity to get a taste of the playoffs. I'm interested
to see what it all looks like next year. Like
both Pollo and the Magic, shout out to them. They
had a great season. He really laid it all out

(14:31):
on the line for a young man who's never played
in the playoffs and never been in the game seven
and I loved his approach and the way he handled himself,
So shout out to him, which leads me into this
first game Nicks beating the Pacers, which now gives them
a two oher lead. Brunson twenty nine, Og twenty eight,

(14:56):
the de Vinceinzo twenty eight and Josh Harp nineteen points,
fifteen rebounds, seven a sists in forty eight minutes played.
And it's funny to really see a guy doing this
when we've seen and the talk for a good little
while now is about load management, and this is on

(15:19):
the other side of the spectrum, and he deserves a
lot of credit. Shout out to Josh Hart for just
being able to do so in producing. I just hope
once he gets home, once he gets home at night,
he takes care of his body, he gets his rest,
takes a lot of water, stretch, does everything he needs

(15:39):
to do to have the energy to do so. As
we all know, Og is out for Game three with
the hamstring injury, whatever that means. So you're gonna lean
on obviously de Vincenzo's play, who's been outstanding. You're gonna
now lean on Josh to continue to play. And you

(16:01):
definitely need him to play forty eight minutes. But who
will step up now in the place of og Who's
who had a great night? Brunson's had a slow start
and then all of a sudden you see the play
of other guys pick up, and it allowed Brunson not
only did come back in find his rhythm, but close

(16:25):
the game. And that's like, that's what I mean. He's
a point guard, but that's what superstars do. You want
to get your other guys involved. Obviously, when you need
to do your thing, you do your thing. You want
to get other guys involved early to make the game easier,
easier for you in the second half, particularly in the
fourth quarter, most importantly in the last five minutes. Then

(16:47):
you can do your thing when you have other guys
balling and playing like they're playing. Shout out that Halliburton
had a better, better showing thirty four point scored a
lot of them early, nine assists, then really didn't really
get it going late in the fourth, but he had
a better showing. I'm really interested to see this game

(17:07):
three in Indiana there. It's gonna be rocking in there,
and I'm interested to see how the Knicks handle it. Siakam.
I think they're gonna need his play. They're gonna need thirty.
They're gonna need a thirty ball from him. They're gonna
need They're gonna need a big play. I think Obie
Topping played well. McConnell, TJ is making Garrett Temple and

(17:31):
I you know, we were talking about him bigging them
up last week on his play and how solid he is,
and we were just talking about him, yes, playing well
as as a player, getting guys involved, getting into the paint,
making plays for everybody else. But his scoring has gone up.
He's now a reliable score and in the past, like

(17:51):
you would leave TJ. McConnell open on the jump shot
or I don't. I'm not saying disrespect him, but like
if he had a big night, that's what you want. Now,
his point are painful and detrimental. You know, can can
change a game the way he's playing and delivering the ball,
making the game now, giving given Halliburton an opportunity to

(18:13):
kind of play the off guard and be a little
more aggressive offensively along with his ability to make play.
So I'm looking forward to game Game three in Indiana.
That should be a good one. Boston Calves were now
one to one. Very interesting because you look at what

(18:34):
the Calves didn't in the first round. I just talked
about the magic. They didn't win a role game at all,
and they were you know, oh to four and five
if you would, and found a way to get one.
And it was important for I mean for Donovan Mitchell
to continue to play the way he's been playing, but

(18:55):
he needed some help. He needed Garland to show up.
He needs more to have a solid I mean, he's
not gonna maybe won't get a big night every night,
but he needs to be solid. Give him some scoring
to make up for the loss of the big fellow
down low who's out with the rib injury. I think
he's missed five games. On the other side of the ball,

(19:17):
I thought Jason Tatum's approach in game two was what
was needed for him to get back into a Jalen
Brown has been fantastic his approach obviously, Derek White has
been lights out. Pritchard has been very good. So they
needed more guys to step up and have those type
of nights with Perzingis being out. Uh, but yeah, they

(19:46):
couldn't get it done. Now we have a very interesting
series going back to Cleveland. I think they're gonna have
to find a way for both of those guys, and
I'm talking about j T and JB, Jaylen Brown and
Tatum to have monster Knights. I think this is an
important Game three for Boston to take to get back

(20:11):
control of this series. I do think Boston still will
win the series. Game three is important to set themselves
up because they want to get some wins and they
want to get this series over as quickly as possible
to get guys healthy and rest to get ready for
a Wild Eastern Conference. Either team, they're gonna push him

(20:35):
to the limits, so they're gonna need to be as
healthy as possible. Let's talk about this Minnesota Denver series. Obviously,
I talked briefly about no suspension for Murray, so I'm
expecting him to come out and I know he's injured,
he has something ailing him. I'm expecting him to still

(20:58):
the calf, I'm sure, but I'm expect him to come
out aggressive, looking for a shot. And this is in
my mind, to offset all of the outside noise that
is being brought into their locker room with them already
being down two going on the road. When you're in

(21:19):
the playoffs, particularly in this situation, but when you're in
the playoffs in general, you don't want a lot of
outside noise coming into your locker room. Whether you're up
to two oh or down oh two or whatever, you
do not want outside noise. You just want to focus
on the game itself. So I think we're gonna see
a uber and ultra aggressive Jamal Murray to give his

(21:44):
team some boosts, gives his team a boost, I think Jokic, Yeah,
it's gonna continue to be solid. But there again, they're
gonna just need other guys to step up. Point blank,
Iman and go and had a great night twenty points,
and it's just crazy, like you need it. With Murray down,
you need it. Gordon to step up, he did, Porter Jr.

(22:09):
Has been extremely solid for them. Jackson Reggie gave them
a spark, but it wasn't enough. So it's just they're
gonna have to find a way to pull it together.
They're champions, defending champions, They've been in situations with this
situation before, with their backs against the wall. I think
they will respond. The result, I don't know, because the confidence.

(22:35):
You know, I talked about young teams with the lack
of experience. But when you have this confidence like they have,
they feel like they're the best. Anthony Edwards feels and
is playing like he's the best in the league right now.
Regardless of how we think about this Defensive Player of

(22:56):
the Year award, which I didn't tap on, but I'm
gonna tap into a I do think because of the numbers,
I think Winby did enough. But the best player on
the best I mean, those those numbers were substantial, so
it's hard to say the best player on the on
the best team or should win that award in this situation.
In that situation because if we also could say Anthony Davis,

(23:20):
his numbers and all of the defensive categories that matters
towards defensive Player of the Year were better than the
big fellow as well. But the way Minnesota is playing
and how they rely on him, him being Rudy Gobert,
they're they're they're tough, they have everything, and which makes

(23:41):
them so tough. When you're a young team, the coaches
and general manager or franchises dreams you have star players.
You have a star player, you have another star, you
have other great players, you have role players, and you
pray as as an organization that they're able to fall
in line and when, and that's what has happened. Yes,

(24:05):
if you guys remember in the beginning, it was a
little yeah, bumping up the heads of whose team it is?
And you know, young Anthony Edwards as a rookie cat
who's already been there for some years, whose team, whose
team it is? It's no debate, and shout out to
Kat for buying into it. I think my opinion, I

(24:27):
think once he got hurt, he set out. We start
to see and man emerge to another level and it
was all understood. After that. He comes back, he buys
in he me and Kat. He also was able to
have a huge career night. And that's what happens. When

(24:48):
you're buying, good things happen. Good energy tends to flow
through your team in your locker room, nas Reed. Six
minut a year now, they have Alexander Walker. Both of
them chipped in like the fourteen last game, like they're
playing great, like they are playing at an all time high,
and they got it done on the road. Ladies and gentlemen,
you're not you're not hearing me. A young team who's

(25:12):
never been in this type of position in a long
time as a franchise, more so than these guys are
playing like they've been here before. And shout out to
Mike Conley, my former teammate. I give him a lot
of credit. He's the calming voice, veteran in that locker

(25:32):
room amongst other guys who've been around. But man, you
can just tell they respect Mike Conley. When he talks,
they listen. And now when Ann Edwards talks, they listen.
But I think Mike Conley has done a great job
on helping and navigate of being a superstar and a

(25:55):
vocal leader, leading this team what to say, how to
go about, and so on and so forth. Mike Conley
had that same effect on Donovan Mitchell when they played
together and in Utah, and you're seeing another side of
I think Donovan and it's he's emerged. Can he get

(26:17):
over the hump? We'll see. So shout out to the Timberwolve,
Shout out to Mike Conley. I'm excited about these playoffs.
Like I said, every night it's must see TV. I'm
interested to see what the Western Conference will look like. Uh,
it'll be an interesting matchup as great Denver is. I
would love to see a OKC Minnesota matchup. I think

(26:40):
that would be fantastic. Obviously Denver and anyone would be
fantastic as well, but that would be awesome to see.
So we're gonna stay tuned to continue to discuss the
playoffs as they as they happen, and we're gonna get
some great news highlights. Always have something talking. Now I

(27:18):
want to move uh. I want to move on and
talk about Frank Vogel being fired. Now we've seen Darvin
Ham and Frank Vogel being fired, and I talked about
this once again last week with Garrett Temple, and it's

(27:39):
just unfortunate. And I said it earlier, and I know,
either you're Phoenix fans or your Laker fans or fans
of the NBA in general, some of you's like, oh,
you know, he they deserved to be fired, couldn't get
the job done. But Darvin him. Look what Darvinhaim did
with the Lakers last year. Look what Jarvingham did with

(28:00):
this team this year. He got that team into the playoffs.
He had a lot of you folks believing that they
could beat the Denver Nuggets. You didn't go in it,
and some people did. I know, something you, lud I did.
I did, Yes, okay, fine, but the majority you if

(28:21):
you look online, he was to look at the comments,
there are a lot of people who felt, oh no,
the Lakers, we can get it done now with that
right that roster. Okay, they had had some of you
believing for a while. Phoenix, they have what they have.
What was Frank Bogel supposed to do with that? With

(28:42):
that team? He just didn't have enough. Yes, I get it,
you had the Big Three. I get it, but it's
not that easy to buy in for to get guys
to play like that. We're talking about three guys that
deserve to have the ball in their head. And I
felt this is me personally. I like Frank bowl. I

(29:03):
think he's a darn good coach and he will have
a job again. In my opinion, I just didn't like
always having Devin Booker to be the decision maker as
the point guard. I want him to score, because that
dude can score. Obviously, Bradley bealt in and out of
lineup with injuries, and so they just couldn't get their

(29:26):
swagger and they found it a little you know a
little bit for a short stint. And then obviously KD.
Just I love to see when Kd's dominating and he
just decides, like I'm gonna be the best player in
the world. I love that KD. You guys have heard
me say it before. I told my story about going
up to him reminding him who he is, because I
feel like he can be that, and he's a guy

(29:49):
that he understands who he's playing with and he allows
them to be the stars or great players that they are.
But you Kevin Durant, Kevin Durrant so and it's funny
hearing James Jones say what he said, But I think

(30:10):
Draymond had a great point. The Golden State Warriors were
able to find and bring the best out of KD
because they understood that they have a superstaring stuff and
have great players, and you have Clay and so on
and so forth. But he's Kevin Durant. He's a matchup
problem and he makes the game easier for everyone else

(30:32):
with his ability. So sometimes when he's just not engaged,
he tends to let people off the hook. And the
way I feel about him and his game, it just
frustrates me because I know when he gets in his mode,
good things can happen. But there again, Frank Volga didn't
have the roster to do what he wants to do

(30:57):
and to get those three guys on the floor. And
there again, if I said he had a point guard,
So what do you do? You move Book to the two,
Bradley Bill to the three, and Kadi to the four.
When everybody's like, oh, he deserves to play his natural position. Well,
if he plays his national position, that's the three. If

(31:19):
I'm not mistaken, who goes to the bench. Well, what
they did? They keep all of them in their somewhat
natural position. Somebody's not going to be in the natural position.
And with these guys who are scored, they're not gonna
have the ball in their hands. So I think I
thought Frank Vogel's hands were tied with what he can
do with what he had. And it's unfortunately like he

(31:40):
is to escape goo to this he gets fired. What
are you supposed to do? And what are they gonna
do next year? We hear coach Bud Mike Butenholzer is
the front runner for the job in Phoenix. From what
I'm understanding, they're tied with and then limited to what
they can do. They're gonna have to make some tough decisions,

(32:01):
I think, to get the pieces they want. Do you
keep that three together? Like, You're gonna have to just
do some smart moves to get some pieces for a
low cost because a lot of your money are going
into those three. So I'm gonna get off my soapbox
with that. But that's just kind of how I feel

(32:22):
on both sides. Yes, I do feel both teams Phoenix
and Lakers could upgrade their roster, but they didn't have
the means to do it. So is it the Is
it the coach's fault? Like, you gave me this to
work with, and I did the best that I could.
I got these teams in the playoffs. Yeah? Sweet, I

(32:44):
didn't really see a suite. I thought the Suns would
at least get one, but whatever. As we move on,
let's hop over to the w n B. A real
quick shout out to the w n B A for
a couple of things that I am happy to hear.
I know you guys heard about, Uh, the WNBA now

(33:05):
moving to charter flights for these women. I know they're
excited about it. It's it's brutal, it's a grind already
flying charter get it going from city to city. So
I can imagine what it's like for those women over
the past years, not having a charter flight to get
to the next city to do their thing. But the

(33:28):
game has grown. They're superstars obviously coming into the young
superstars the game for the w NBA. Whether you guys
like it or not, it's in a great place. You
could say, well, I don't watch it. I don't know
who they are, but you heard of them and when
they throw those names out there, they're recognizable to you already,
and it's bringing and generating more money to them. And

(33:49):
I think the w NBA now has some catching up
to do. They have some catching up to do, and
this is a great step forward. Put some more money
in this pocket because your TV and revenue is will
soon go up. Your viewership is gonna soon go up.
Your your arenas you're already hearing. They're trying to find

(34:11):
different venues for when Caitlin carrk comes to town and
it's gonna I think it's going to continue to grow
because of these young stars coming into the league. Gonna
make a huge splash and there must see TV for
w NBA fans, So for you, for those of you
who aren't, okay, I'm not talking to you, but I

(34:31):
want to give them a shout out. And also, the
next thing the w NBA is gonna have to get
together are their live streams. It's time to get that together.
I saw and I read a couple of comments because
I'm just interested to see what people said say about that.
You know, the fan who had the four hundred thousand
views on live stream. Some feel like it was fabricated

(34:52):
or not, but nevertheless, whatever that actual number was, the
w n B A got the point they were a
where and now they're actually put themselves on notice. They
were put on notice, and they they're doing something about it.
Because whether most of the world not interested in WNBA,

(35:15):
there's a lot of people who are now wanting to see.
Whether it's one player or not, whether there's multiple young
players or not, the interest for WNBA is growing. We're
already seeing new teams. We're hearing more conversation about more
w NBA teams coming about Orlando. We used to have
a team here, I think it was Orlando Miracle. I

(35:36):
would love to see other teams Toronto. I know at
one point we heard about Toronto getting one. I know
Golden State is getting one soon. I think one was
talked about in Charlotte. I'm not mistaken. In the last
couple of years, we weren't hearing about any teams coming about.
It was just the WNBA. It is what it is,

(35:57):
and the changing of the guard is happening. So I
wanted to give them props, give them their props as
we continue to move forward and watch that lead grow,
which it has grown immensely over the years. And lastly,
the Olympics is coming around and there's talks about Caitlin

(36:19):
Clark potentially being on the Olympic team, and whether you
like her or not, her popularity is undeniable and I
think I feel confident saying this to you guys. If
there's a spot available, she will get it because of

(36:39):
the uproar, the popularity, the fandom, the boom that she
has created for this WNBA. And she's holding her own.
I think Angel Reese is holding her own. These young
rookies are fantastic and if there's room, you might want
to consider some others along the line to be there.

(37:00):
But I know for a fact there's one position open,
and I know it was potentially talked about Caitlyn Clark,
and I think in the setting where you need shooting
in the Olympics to offset and to open the floor up,
she will be a great piece to add to already
what they have. So I feel confident saying that we

(37:23):
will see her in the Olympics, and I think Jersey
sales viewership will once again go up because of this
young lady and her with the team that they already
have with a lot of the superstars legends of the

(37:43):
game currently look out, they're gonna do some damage to
make a lot of noise, and I think that'll be
great to have dominant performance by both teams. The men's
and women's teams went out there to handle the business.
So because I know the men, they're loaded and I

(38:05):
think they'll get it together. So I'd like to see
the women keep the same. All right. Now, here's the

(38:29):
Upper Room dunk of the Week and it goes to
the dunk Champ. He's known as Obie topic you see
here in the fast break. Let's watch it first and
then we're gonna break it down, all right. He gets
to steal, he gets free in half court right there,
crossover takes a quick look back just to see if

(38:52):
the runway is clear. And that's when you you really
know that you're an athlete and you trust in your
ability because somebody's running after you. Right you see here
McBride comes in your screen, and that's having trust that

(39:12):
you know that that player will not run up under you.
They've already conceded, like you got it. Takes the peek
back in between the legs, easy dunk, and that's got
to feel good for Obi Topping like he's he formerly
of the New York Knicks. And obviously they boot whoever.

(39:34):
You can't boo that you can be mad. You can
see a couple of fans in the stands like oooh,
and then they try to say something like you can't.
You can't be mad at that. You can't be mad
at that. Give you one more look at that, like
with ease. That right there, it's my upper room dunk

(39:54):
of the week. Go see you, Obie Topping. All right,
next segment is who did I Run into this week?
And this wasn't this week, it was last week. I
didn't do who I ran into last week with Garrett Temple.
But I'm gonna say and talk about running into the

(40:15):
TNT crew. For those of you that were watching, I
got the opportunity to work on the set with the
inside the NBA crew, Shaq, Ernie and Chuck, taking the
place of Kenny Smith who was out. And let me
tell you, it's an honor and pleasure to be able
to work on that set. It is nothing but last.

(40:36):
But these guys, like I mean, they just they work
off of each other. And what was the I was
a part of the Galveston, Texas Dirty Water for those
of you got to see it and just to see
how that came about, how it took off and how

(40:57):
many people jumped on it. And it's just these guys
having fun, willing to say whatever. Shaq, it started as
a joke off camera and Chuck threw it out there.
Shaq was like what so he takes it, throws the
libes like where are they going? And he said, the Galveston,
Texas and you know, being the outsider if you would,

(41:20):
and taking the place I've done a time or two now,
so I feel comfortable. But it's just you fall in line.
It's just it was just it's just always amazing to
be there. I try to be the be myself. I
don't try to be anyone else to be like those guys.
I try to be myself, be the voice of reason,
to fit in with a Hall of Fame, Emmy, multiple

(41:41):
Emmy Award winning crew. And that's why I wanted to
talk about who I ran into. For you guys that
got to see it, it was nothing but laughs. I mean,
it's it's always gut riching laughs. So you can see
Shaq hurling over in laughter and tears, the guarantee we're
spraying the silly spray or whatever it was on Chuck.

(42:05):
It's just to be a part of those moments that
we get to see each in every week, see those
guys doing their thing, and I got to be a
part of it. And it's always cool when you see
the playbacks and stuff going viral and you're a part
of such a funny, viral, cool moment that which everybody loves.
It was just an honor. So shout out to Turner

(42:27):
the inside the NBA crew for allowing me to be
a part of it and having me come on every
so often. Stay tuned. I possibly can be on there
once again sometime soon. So that's who I ran into,
and I'm very thankful that I did. And my last
segment is going to go to Candas Parker as my

(42:49):
shout out of the week. It's going to Candace Parker.
Sixteen seasons in the WNBA, three times WA Champ, twenty sixteen,
twenty one, and twenty three, two time MVP, two time
NCAA Champ, two time Most Outstanding Player of the Year,

(43:15):
two times Female Athlete of the Year. And that's just
a few of them, and now president of the Adidas
Women Division A women's basketball division. When I say amazing career,
like obviously first ballant, Hall of Fame, hall of Famer,

(43:39):
an unbelievable person, very knowledgeable of the game, loves the game,
very outgoing, just a nice, nice woman who just is
great to be around. IM at Candice many many years
ago before I want to say, yeah, before she was

(43:59):
in the in the WB she's still in college. Obviously
I played against one one of her brothers. I don't
think I played against both her brothers. Maybe I did.
No one of her brothers for sure, Anthony Parker when
he was in Toronto, and just to see her grow
as a player, dominate. We know what she did. She

(44:20):
she was Rookie of the Year, at MVP all the
same year winning the championship, like I mean, dominant, and
I wanted to give her her flowers, work with her
on TNT Tuesdays. Just just a great human being, unbelievable,

(44:41):
unbelievable career, Candice. I hope you see this or hear
about it or whatnot, and I will tell it to
her when I see her, for sure. But I wanted
to kind of give her her flowers and give her
this shot out because I mean, she's she's a lot
of a lot of young young ladies and probably some
mental heroes Dunk Contests champion. I want to say she

(45:07):
wanted McDonald's All American Dunk Contests. Like I'm saying, she
broke a lot of barriers and she deserves everything that's
coming her way. It's I mean, it's funny. The last
time I was on with her on TT Tuesday, we
were talking about me and at this time I was

(45:32):
a finalist for the Hall of Fame, and we briefly
talked about retirement, had a conversation and it was cool
to talk about it because she was just contemplating, weighing
her options and seeing how she felt leading up to
the season and it was just cool to kind of
be a part of that conversation, not saying I had
anything to do with it, but to kind of give

(45:54):
her my views. And we had a great conversation and talk,
talk and talk about the Hall of Fame and what
it means to me and how excited she was for me,
and I feel that excited. I feel that same excitement
now for her when she's eligible and she goes in,
because she definitely will be a first ballot Hall of Famer.

(46:14):
So once again, wherever you guys are in your car
at home listening, let's just give her a nice golf clap.
Maybe you're in your meeting listening on your headphones but
you're not supposed to whatever, Let's give her a golf
clap because she is definitely a legend Hall of Famer
and she deserves it. All. With that being said, once again,

(46:37):
this concludes another episode of the VC Show. I'm always
thankful for you guys listening wherever you are. Continue to
tune in, continue to like it, share it, leave your comments,
whatever you must do. We're here every week to relax
