Enjoy the show and thanks so much for listening. You

(00:27):
are now team to the Roto Experts. Hey, yo, what's
up everybody? It's me Joey p Joe Pizza Fia and
welcome to Rhodo Experts in the morning, right here on
the Grid on sports grid dot com. Oh and we
are on Zoomo TV channel seven, on Noine, We're on YouTube,

(00:48):
We're everywhere, and we're right here at the same time.
Isn't that amazing? The magic of television. And we are
here at the FanDuel Sports Book live broadcasting at the
Sports Grids studio. My goodness, isn't it pretty. I hope
all of you have your kneecaps in place, because we've
got a fun one for you today. Joining me a
little bit will of course be my colleague Jim Day.
And it's not Sunday without Jim Day. But first, obviously

(01:09):
the biggest part of news in fantasy football is the
Patrick Mahomes injury, which could have been a lot worse
but certainly wasn't good. It was gross, it was terrible,
but luckily they were able to get Patrick mahomes knee
back into place. Luckily there was no structural damage there.
So for fantasy football owners and single quarterback leagues, that's
certainly a good sign you have them, probably for the playoffs.

(01:31):
You could probably find some replacement value off the waiver
wire in super flex leagues though with two quarterback formats, Oh,
this one hurts. It hurts bad. And we're up to now,
I believe twelve teams now that are going to be
having a different quarterback, maybe even thirteen when you considered
Tannehill as well. So Jim Day, welcome to the program,
the Fantasy Tazz and Jim Patrick Mahomes has got to

(01:52):
be the biggest lead possibly that you can have the
best quarterback arguably, and fantasy football went down. He's gonna
be out for a couple of weeks. So let's start
with the single quarterback formats. Who are some of the
guys that you have in mind to be streaming in
his place these next couple of weeks while he is
out with this kneecap injury. Well, you know, the first
one is going to be the top of my list
is Gardner Minshew. I am definitely still a Minshew guy,

(02:14):
even after his bad week last week. I expect him
to bounce back in this matchup against Cincinnati. Their defense
hasn't been very good against anybody at this point, so
I expect him to bounce back. I like him a lot.
Daniel Jones is another option this week, He's get gets
two of his big weapons back. Barkley and Ingram should
both be on the field, so Daniel Jones going up

(02:35):
against Arizona should be another choice. Um. You know, there's
a couple of other choices that stand out a little bit. Uh.
I do like Jacoby Verssette, but he's mostly owned at
this point, so I don't know if if you're gonna
really get a chance to stream him, But if you do,
I like his matchup again against Houston. So those are
definitely some guys I would stream all right in the interim. Now,

(02:59):
Matt Moore is obviously going be the guy taking over,
so I guess here's the question. Is what do you
do with the rest of the pieces? Now you finally
got tyreek Hill back. A week later, he's out without
Patrick Mahomes, I should say, and uh lem co Hartman's
of the world, the Sammy Watkins of the world, all
these external pieces, Travis Kelsey, do you just automatically downgrade
everybody or is this maybe an opportunity to make an

(03:21):
offer on a Travis Kelsey or make an offer on
Tyreek Hill and buy low for the stretch run. You
can always do that. I'm always looking to do that.
You know, guys that are gonna overreact to this, and
you know it does hurt them in the shark term.
While Mahomes is out, it does hurt them, There's no
doubt about it. Matt More is nowhere near close to
being what Mahomes is and everybody knows that. So you know,

(03:43):
there may be options out there, but here's one that
nobody's really talking about. Now is the time to try
and sell my homes. You know, go out there and
we'll look. If you're a solid team and you have
a good backup quarterback, try and go out and get
other pieces that make your team stronger for the stress.
Trun and maybe sell Mahomes. I'm not saying sell them cheap.

(04:03):
You gotta get some really good pieces back for him.
But if you have a new, good, solid backup in
place already, then go out there and see if you
can fill other holes with him. It's a great time
to do it, and you might find a lot more
people receptive to it out there right now than before. Well,
I guess that's the whole point, is what's your expectation
for him now? Because Patrick Mahomes should be back at

(04:26):
some point, which looks more like you know, he's gonna
have a couple of weeks here on the shelf they
gotta buy, uh, not too far after that, so he
could miss basically a month of time, which means you
probably get him back sometime around that that schedule of
where most fantasy playoffs are. But if he is limited
in terms of mobility, does that make him a guy
that you're better off kind of getting out from under
right now altogether, especially for a team that looks like

(04:48):
they're going to be in your league in the playoffs.
Is that something you could really pitch and sell it
that way, Hey, you get my homes from the playoffs,
you're already a six and old team, go for it. Uh.
Do you have any concerns about his mobility or limitations
even when he does come back, Not really. I mean,
if he comes back and he's on the field, I'm
gonna play him, you know, as I expect everybody else would.

(05:09):
He's still my homes even if he's a little gempy,
he's still gonna put up decent numbers, I expect. I'm
not really that worried about him. I do hope that
they take the time to make sure he's right before
they get him back, instead of trying to rush him back.
That's always been a problem, and we've seen too many
teams try to do that and have disastrous results with that.
So hopefully they don't do that here. You know, give

(05:31):
them in the time he needs to get right and
then get healthy for the stretch run, which is where
they're gonna need him. So there's a very good chance
we don't see him until at least you know, week eleven,
But even then, you know, with the buy in week twelve,
who knows he may be. That's my assumption is that

(05:53):
they will have him probably ready in practicing and then
with the bye coming up, they'll say, you know what,
let's see what's going on, and who knows if Chiefs
will be relevant by that. You know they're coming off
I know they just won this past week. They were
coming on back to back bad losses. This puts them
in a bad spot, especially with the way that defense
has played. But enough about who's not and let's talk
about who is in and back. Patrick Peterson will be
back today facing the New York Giants. So that's a

(06:14):
huge addition to the Arizona Cardinals. And uh, look, I
mean there's certainly a defense that could use some help.
We'll see how active and how much of an impact
he makes on the field today. More guys out though,
because Marky's Brown looks like he's questionable. Uh, it's not
trending in the right direction. And then on top of that,
you've got a ton of guys uh for this Rams
game too to talk about because Jalen Ramsey will be

(06:35):
back there making his first start for the Rams. Girley
will be playing, Henderson will be playing, Malcolm Brown won't
be playing, so a lot to digest their tyroll. Williams
is going to be out as well. Uh, Jim, how
does this work? Out now with the Raiders because we
know Josh Jacobs has a huge role. He's the focal
point of the offense. Darren Waller certainly involved a lot.
But now you're taking Tyroll Williams. They are down another

(06:55):
wide receiver. So what does this do to the Raiders
attack and to the efficiency or effectiveness of both Josh
Jacobs and Derek carr Well. I think, you know, it's
not gonna really hurt Josh Jacobs and unless actually may
even help him if they get him a little bit
more involved in the passing game. With no Tyrolle Williams,
I think a lot of it is gonna come down

(07:16):
to the two tight ends Waller and Boster Moreau, the
rookie I think would be highly involved. Outside of that,
and it it's really hard to see who were to
these wide receivers. I'd take a shot on this week.
Um you know is it Za Jones, who just recently
came over to the team might be in for a
bigger game plan than we expected normally if Williams was

(07:37):
in there, but with him out, we may see a
lot of a Jones in this one. You know that's
a great name too. I think that if you're in
a deeper league and you're looking for a wide receiver
to stream this week that you've got a bunch of
guys on buys. Maybe z A Jones is that darth
throw you take a shot on. Maybe a missed out
on Alan Lazard, who might be another darthrow this week.
Z Jones might be a guy with this news about

(07:58):
Tyroll Williams. Also Alvin Camaro uh out for this one.
Um not surprising considering the game he had last week.
So a lot of Latavius Murray. We're gonna get to
Latavious Murray a little bit later on the show. So
that's a tease for those of you in the business.
That's what that's called. And we'll talk about whether or
not he is a good start or not against the Bears.
But Devin Singletary's back to Jim Day real quick. I

(08:18):
know we only got a couple of seconds left. With
the fact that this probably will get out of hand
here and you would expect the Bills to be up.
Do you think Singletary gets enough traction in this game
to be a flex start, maybe in the fourth quarter,
gets some action here. I do think he's gonna be
an obvious choice for a flex start this week. I
like him a lot. I've liked him since preseason, so
I think he definitely makes him play this week. You know,

(08:40):
I'm not really so sure he's the one who they
go to in the fourth quarter. They probably stay with
more a lot for that, but he'll still do a
lot of work this week. Alright, we're just getting started here,
Live on the grid. We'll be right back in a moment.
More rhtal experts the morning, more fantasy football for your

coffee let's start some fantasy football. It's time to get
to the fantasy game focus. Some of the games that
we've got coming up are you obviously today, uh, a
lot of hot games before we get to that. Another
bit of news just floating around the wire as it were.
Mitchell Robinsky will indeed play this week, so you can

(10:11):
debate whether or not that's a good thing for the
Bears or your fantasy team. I'm gonna say no, I'm
gonna pass on that for now. Let's see. Let's see
how it works out, especially against the Saints, who that
defense is played very very well. Again, I'm Joe pisa
Pio live with you here. You can follow me on
the Twitter machine at Joe Papa seventeen and follow Jim
over at Fantasy Tazz and Jim. Let's let's dive into

(10:32):
some of these games here, and let's start with the
Ravens and Seahawks. I think this is going to be
another notch in the m v P belt. Russell Wilson today.
I love this matchup for him. It's a marquee matchup
two big quarterbacks. Obviously, we have a high expectation for
this one in terms of just from a fun to
watch factor, but from a fantasy factor. No will dis Lee.
Now what does that mean to Tyler Lockett? What does

(10:55):
that mean in your opinion for the rest of the
Seattle Wide receiving corps. Because clearly it's not like Luke
Wilson's gonna step in and be what Will Disley was
at that position. So where do these targets get filtered?
Does it all just go to Tyler Lockett considering the
last couple of games have been a little bit on
the quieter side, or are we gonna start to see
guys like DK mec after Ron Brown David Moore be
a little bit more active this week against the Ravens. Yes, yes, yes,

(11:18):
and yes, um I think work they're all gonna be
a little bit more active. But trying to figure out
which one is gonna be fantasy active is a tough one.
You know. My first bet You know, of course Lockett
is locked in. He is what he is. He's gonna
be good no matter what. But for me, I think
the next best chance for me is gonna have to
be Mecca. They're still looking at him to make those

(11:39):
big plays. They're trying to get him involved there in
the red zone. And at the goal line. So I
think he's the one I would take the second best
chance on. But you know, as we've seen over the
past couple of years, John Brown, David Moore, they could
always pop up and have those big, you know, one
or two touchdown games. You just never know when they're coming. Yeah,

(11:59):
and on the other side of this game too, obviously,
Mark andrew has been very solid. Hollywood Brown probably trending
like and not play at this point. We'll get you
updated later on. I'm from Mike Blewett on Pro Football Today.
We'll have the latest updates on that as we get
a little closer to game time there and on the
West Coast. But I don't know, man, I am kind
of struggling here. It's Lamar Jackson, it's mark ingram as

(12:19):
much of my love Mark Andrews. It's nice to have
other options in the passing game. I know before we
talked about Willie Snead, But is that realistic from a
fantasy standpoint this week? Well, it's realistic as long as
you know that you know you're gonna get a decent
floor with Snead, but you don't really have a high
ceiling with him. You're probably looking at ten twelve points
in a max and you know that. So in some

(12:42):
instances that's good and you you'll be able to deal
with that. Outside of that, it's really hard to get
a feel for what they're gonna want to do here.
Uh No, Marky's Brown's kind of limits the entire offense
because he's their big play guy, takes the top off
the defense. Without him, defenses can sort of shrink into
that box, and that's not a good thing for for

(13:03):
this team at all. They need that spread defense. Alright,
we are broadcasting live here from the Mental Lands, and
in just us a few hours, Daniel Jones and Kyler
Murray are gonna square off. Now this one. Considering the
lack of defense these teams have shown so far here
in two thousand nineteen, you would imagine there's gonna be
a fair amount of points scored. So obviously Kyler Murray

(13:25):
and play obviously David Johnson and of course Larry Fitzgerald.
But on the giant side of things, I want to
talk about this scenario because this is Daniel Jones now
back with se Kwon Parkley, back with Evan Ingram Golden tape. Now,
no startling Shepherd, but still all of a sudden, he's
got a lot more weapons. So my question to you, Jim,
are we gonna see more of the Daniel Jones we

(13:45):
saw in that first week against the Bucks, or are
we going to continue to see Daniel Jones we've seen
the last two weeks, which has not been nearly as thrilling. Well, look,
he scored more Fantasy points in that first game he started,
then he has since combined. Um, so obviously that that
was the showcase. That first game was the showcase. The
next few games have been where we see the rust,

(14:06):
where we see the issues with Daniel Jones that they
need to work on. But the fact of the matter
is when you get Barkley back, when you get Ingram back, Um,
you know, it would be nice to have Sterling Shepherd,
But Golden Tape showed us last week, even against that
tough defense, he is still in play. So I think
this offense has enough pieces in here to put up
a good game. So I like all of these pieces,

(14:28):
and a matter of fact, I like all of the
pieces on both sides. I think you know, um, David
Johnson is expected to play, but I think Chase Edmonds
is still very much involved. He's been a double digit
scorer last two weeks. I think that trend continues at
this point in this game. Anybody who's on that field
should be startable in fantasy. Yeah, I would agree, and

(14:51):
Edmunds definitely is a flex player. I think against the
Giants today, we've seen even with David Johnson on the
field last few weeks, even with David Johnson having good games,
it's not so much that you can't have Jase Edmonds
at least putting up double digit PPR points. So that's
a positive. Let's move on to the Rams and Falcons.
And I know, oh, I know, it was a disappointing
week for Jared Goff owners. Believe me, we all get it.

(15:13):
But I think you gotta just turn the page here.
They gotta turn the page with Cooper Cup and Jared
Goff and realize it's the Falcons and you fire them
all up. I don't think there's any doubt before we
get into the running backs. I just want to make
sure that we're on the same page here. There's no doubt, right,
you go back to the well with Golf and everybody
in that receiving game. Yes, Jim, Oh, absolutely against the
Falcons right now, just can't stop anybody on defense. Um,

(15:36):
you know, one of the worst defenses in the league,
and you just have to fire all of them up
and hope that Golf gets back right. This is the
game for him to get backed right in against these
Falcons secondary that just are getting lit up. Yeah, and
Jared Goff just a couple of weeks ago, it was
there five hundred yards. So I understand last week was

(15:57):
miserable and terrible, but so were the Falcon especially in
the secondary. Now, the running backs in this one, I'm
curious about DeVonta Freeman coming off a much more all
purpose game that we're used to. So far this year
has basically been him catching the football, not so much
rushing it. Last week you saw both. Todd Gurley is
gonna be back in this one. No Malcolm Brown, but
Henderson will play too. So from the running back perspective,

(16:18):
I'll put it out to you, which running back do
you like more in this one? Are you like Todd
Gurley against the Rams here with the limited touches but
the touchdown upside, or DeVonta Freeman and perhaps the more
all purpose running back that we saw last week carrying
over this week against the Rams. I like both, but
I do I do side with Gurley. I just think
he's a better running back. Um. He got in a

(16:39):
full practice, so that allays my fears of him being limited.
I think he's in a good place at this point,
especially with no Malcolm Brown. Anderson is in play for
me as a flex, but I think Gurley I like
him a little bit more than Freeman this week, although
the Rams have been worse against the run than Falcons have. Yeah,

(17:00):
I I completely agree with you, obviously on the Falcon
side of this one. You're gonna have all the all
the shares in everybody in. You could probably even starts
new in this one too. I think this is gonna be.
This is not gonna disappoint. Sometimes we get these games
where we have the high totals and everybody's raw raw,
and it falls short of expectations. I don't think this
one's gonna fall short. I don't think the Giants are
gonna fall short either this week of expectations with the Cardinals,

(17:21):
but Vikings Lions, this is a fascinating matchup. Lions got
hosed Monday night. I keep saying it every week. The
Lions are a team that plays tough, They compete, and uh,
they are ready to get the ball to Kenny Golladay.
And I know on paper he's got a tough matchup
against Davier Rhodes, But I think at this point in
Rhodes career, he's much more adept at stopping guys like

(17:42):
al Sean Jeffrey than he is stopping guys like Kenny Golladay.
I think that's the step that he's lost. And I
think Kenny Golladay somebody you feel really good about this week? Uh,
in this matchup, do you feel equally good about Kenny
Golladay's potential to have a big Fantasy Day against which
is one of the better cordners in the NFL. Well,
he's one of the better corners in the NFL by

(18:03):
reputation in name, he actually hasn't been playing that to
that level this year as so much so that the
coach has called him out on it a couple of times. Especially,
you know, go back to that Giant game, and he
made a ton of mistakes in that game. So you know,
it's not a guarantee that he's gonna shut anybody down.
Holiday is a good play for me. I have him

(18:23):
as a wide receiver too. Definitely has that upside um,
so he's definitely in play for me. But there's definitely,
you know, of course guys I like better than him,
But in this game, he should definitely be involved. And
I'm not really worried about Xavier Rhodes. Alright, real quick here,
vikings on this side of this one. Darius Slay obviously
is gonna be always always trouble. He is a corner

(18:44):
whose reputation still holds up. Uh, you got digs, you
got feeling, you got Dalvin Cook, who's the biggest fantasy
scorer this week. With the game plan of these three guys,
it's gonna be cooked, no doubt about it. Um. Lions
defense is pretty good against the past, uh gots wide receivers,
but they've been thirtieth in the league so far against

(19:05):
running backs. Cook is gonna feed in this one. We
may even see some Alexander Madison involved in this game
as well. All Right, we're gonna hit a break when
we come back. We're gonna do a little Fantasy round

I'm Joey p Joe Pizzapia. It's time for a little
Fantasy roundtable with Mr Roto Expert Davis Mattock and just
a little bit so once we get him looked up
there we will start. But let's let's kick things off
here with that question that I teased, and I don't
want you to say that I'm a tease and I

(20:38):
don't follow through. But we talked at the top of
the show about Latavius Murray playing instead of Alvin Kamara
this week, and uh, you've got the Bears defense ahead
of him. So, Jim, when you're looking at this matchup,
I know there's the addition by subtraction narrative in there
that you say, Okay, well, Latavius Murray, it's his chance
to go out there and get the lion share of

(20:59):
the carries, but it is the and share the carries
against the Bears, which is Funny's talking about bears and
lions and lots of animals. But at the same time,
we look at last week or should I say two
weeks ago where the bear struggled against Josh Jacobs. So
is this an opportunity for Latavia's Murray or is this
a spot where you start Murray but realize there's perhaps
some massive limitations in his fantasy output. Where do you

(21:19):
lie in your opinion with Latavia's Murray in this one? Well,
there is some hesitation with Murray, but not a ton
for me. Look, the Bears are gonna be without their
top run stuff or a cheam. Hicks is out this week,
so that hurts him. Plus, you know this this is
a team where they're great against the past, but they
haven't been that great against the run. Their fourteenth in

(21:39):
the league so far against imposing running backs, which puts
them right in the middle of the pack. So I
am not gonna not start Murray just because he's facing
the Bears. He's gonna get plenty of opportunity in this one,
and I think he's gonna get a lot of checkdown
passes as well, and all of that plays into it
for me. So I actually like Murray in this one.
I think he actually has a good chance to score too.

(22:03):
Now what's the impact do you think with Mitchell Trubisky.
I know we made jokes before in the last segment,
which is fun, and you know fantasy football is supposed
to be fun. Last time I checked too, But let's
be honest here. Mitchell Drubisky has struggled. He started to
play a little bit better and then the injury happened
in that Vikings game and he hasn't been on the
field since. So what's your expectation now for this Bears offense?

(22:23):
Because Obviously, Allen Robinson has been a guy that's been
very steady. Tough matchup for him today. Obviously, the running
backs have a lot of opportunity and a lot of talent,
but their utilization has been in question. So on the
Bear side of this game, how how confident are you
of running out the Tarik Cohen's and David Montgomery's of
the world at this point. I gotta tell you, I'm
an owner of both, and I'm running some of them

(22:45):
out there sometimes, and right now I don't feel great
about it. What's your confidence level in the Bears commitment
to this run game? Finally, especially in a game like
this where you know you're you're up against a tough
one here with the Saints. Well, the Saints are number
five supposing running back, so that right there puts a
little dent in it. But this is my faith in

(23:06):
the Chicago Bears running back and that's zero, zero percent
faith in this running back. And it's not because of
the running backs. I think David Montgomery is a truly
talented running back, but Matt Nagy continues to play games
with who is in and who is out, and you
know he's trying to be Bill Belichick light and he's
not picking correctly. Meanwhile, it doesn't allow you to really

(23:28):
get any kind of faith in any of these backs.
So right now, to me, Chicago's running backs are dead
to me unless Nagy gets his head on straight and
gives one of these guys to Bell cow Roll. All right,
well it's not dead right now, is uh? NHL DFS

we're just doing our best that we can to put

the carriages you're gonna go to him with Alvin Camara out,
But at the same time, the matchup is a difficult one.
So you your expectation of him in terms of I
know you're big on rankings over there at roto experts.
Where do you have him rank this week? In terms
of I assume the low end RB two class would
be my guest, Where do you have him? Davis? Yeah,
I think you can pretty much flot him in right

(25:15):
about running back fifteen, and that sounds really high. But
then when you get to running back fifteen, you're like, Okay,
we got Marlon Mack, we have Todd Gurley, Joe mix,
and you know that was kind of the range of
Royce Freeman. And he's gonna get more carries and more
targets than all those guys. You know, he's gonna he
is locked into twenty plus touches all right. Now, moving

(25:37):
forward to Josh Jacobs. Obviously a guy coming off a
huge game and off a by and I think the
Green Bay Packers are one of the more overrated teams,
and I think we've seen a lot of things go
their way. You saw the Eagles expose them a little bit. So, Davis,
what are your expectations this week for Josh Jacobs Because
we know the workload was the where we know that
carry load was there last week. Is that something now

(25:58):
we can bank on, especially with the Tyrolle Williams injury.
Are we going to finally have the rains coming off,
not just this week, but maybe the rest of the
season for Josh Jacobs as well. Yeah, I think that
is probably the most likely scenario. I think that the
team was just kind of, you know, letting him feel
it out and and you know, getting him ready for
the NFL before they turned him into a full on workhorse.

(26:21):
And that's what he is now. He is just straight up.
As he's one of the biggest workhorse back in the NFL.
I think he'll probably see you know, seventy percent of
the teams rushing attempts moving forward and about twelve percent
of their targets moving forward. All right, Jim, let's go
to you on this one. We'll start here with the
Green Bay Packers and what's left of this offense. Savante

(26:42):
Adams out yet again MVS looking like a game time decision.
But even if he plays, the confidence level hasn't been good.
Allison is gonna play, but he doesn't seem to like
Alice anymore. Aaron Rodgers doesn't seem to like anybody, but
he likes Alan Lazard. So is this a guy that
we have to worry about playing? And at this point,
where are we, Jim, with the rest of this Packers offense.
Do we feel confident that Aaron Rodgers feels confident in

(27:05):
any of the weapons he's got left. Look I like
Lizard this week, and for one reason, well two reasons. First,
you know, we found out afterwards that Rogers asked to
get him on the field, and then once he did
get him on the field, he just kept going to him.
And it comes from behind victory. When they needed plays,
he was looking at Lazard and Lazard only. I mean,
even after you dropped that first pass, he came right

(27:26):
back to him, got the touchdown on a nice play
by Lazard, and then every down after that, every time
Rogers went back, his first look was the Lazard um.
It hasn't been that way with Alison when everybody's out,
it hasn't been that way with m VS, but it
has been that way with Lazard. So I am absolutely
flat out playing Lazard wherever I have in this one.

(27:47):
Even if MBS and Allison both play, I think Lazard
is gonna be a big play maker for this team
until Adams is back. All Right, Davis, where are you
at with Adams right now? Are you of the mind
that you just kind of ride out this storm or
is this a guy you're trying to cut it with
and possibly trade off of what you can get Because

(28:08):
we're in the thick of it right now. We're in
the second half of the fantasy regular season basically as
of right now this week. So where do you stand
with Davanta Adams. If you're a Davanta Adams owner, are
you somebody that should be looking to make a move,
or do you basically just have to pin your hopes
that he gets healthier in the next week or two
when you get him back for this final push. I

(28:29):
think if you've ridden it out this far, you probably
just have to you just have to stay there. I
don't think that you can bail now. I'm wishing now,
you know, kind of thinking back that he just would
have had a surgery as soon as he realized this
was gonna be a long term injury. It seemed like
surgery was an option, and the team thought that he
could rehab and kind of get back and maybe two
or three weeks, And now we're looking at a month

(28:50):
or longer absence, where if he would have just had
the surgery right after that game, he would probably be
ready to go right now. Yeah, that's definitely frustrating for
a fantasy standpoint, one of the top guys, another top
wide receiver in the league who's underperforming or just not
on the field at all, And it's just very frustrating
at this point in time. And it's not like somebody
else's kind of stepped up in that void. No one

(29:12):
really has from this Packers team. Now, this next question
here at the round table. I'm going to preface and
I'm going to say none of us really know, but
it's fun to talk about. So Ryan Tannehill Davis is
going to be taking over at quarterback for the Titans.
What does this do, if anything, to the Titans offense?
Are you picking a guy? Is it Adam Humphreys, is

(29:33):
it Corey Davis? Is it Brown? Is it just more
Derrick Henry? How do you see potentially this change of
quarterback working out for the offense of the Titans moving forward,
at least for this week? Uh, you know, I think
it's just gonna be more of the same and and
the team probably, you know, they just got kind of
discouraged by the results that they saw from Marcus Mariota.

(29:54):
But it's not like, you know, I do not think
that Ryan Tannhill is any different than Marcus Mariota. So
I think all of them are still going to be inconsistent.
Derrick Henry is still going to be very disappointing the
fantasy earners who drafted him. It's just it's just a
bad offensive environment to be in. Alright, how about you there, Jim,
I'll put it to you. Titans offense Ryan dan Hill

(30:15):
and he change at all, does somebody become relevant? Maybe
Corey Davis, maybe Brown? Am I just I don't know
wishful thinking here at this point. I think they get
a bump up for the one week because of the
change at quarterback. You know, it just gives him a
little lamp. But the problem is we just don't know
who he favors. We don't know if it's gonna be
Corey Davis. We don't know if it's gonna be A. J. Brown,

(30:36):
which is probably the guy that he played the most
with in preseason and practice, so he could be the
one who steps up. It could be Humphreys. We just
don't know. There's no way of knowing who he's gonna favor.
The one thing we do know is it's not looking
good for Dlaney Walker, so that should definitely help these
wide receivers. But if I had to pull one out
of it, had I gotta pull the number one, and

(30:58):
that would probably be Corey Davis. But at this point
I find it hard to trust any of them. I
would love to see Corey Davis become fantasy relevant. I mean,
wouldn't we all would only look at Corey David and say, man,
that guy's got all the skills, he's got, the size,
he got the speed's got everything. If you just had
a quarterback, it's that one thing that he's missing is
the quarterback that helps. All right, Davis want to thank
you as always for joining the program. You can follow

players for you. We're gonna talk to about whether or
not the Patriots need to add to somebody here at

(31:41):
the trade deadline because wide receivers not really working out
for them so far this year. And Josh Gordon is
gonna be out for this one on Monday night, So
stick around Starts and Sits right here on the grid

(33:28):
I had roto experts in the morning and Jim and
I are gonna go through the sits and the starts
and everything in between. But before we do, let's talk
a little bit more about that Patriots wide receiver issue situation,
whatever you want to call it, because Josh Gordon is
gonna be out for this. When he's been banged up
last couple of weeks, he's been terrible anyway, Uh, Antonio Brown,
that was a short but sweet situation for the Patriots,

(33:51):
and uh we got the trade deadline coming up upon those.
So my question to you, Jim Day, is do the
Patriots need to add another He's to this offense because
these guys like Dorset, guys like Myers, I know, ni
kill Harry is coming back and they have high expectations
for him, but he was not exactly thrilling in the preseason.
Is Harry the guy they're gonna turn to or do

(34:12):
you think they're gonna turn and make a deal and
bringing somebody else at the deadline. Well, it really depends
on how bad Gordon is injured, how bad he's gonna
how many weeks he's gonna miss. If it's gonna be
a one week thing, they think he's gonna be back
next week, then I don't think they make a trade.
If it's gonna be a multi week thing, then there
there is a possibly they go out and try and

(34:32):
get somebody, to bring somebody And look, Dorset has played
well for them when he's on the field. Let's face it,
he's done some good things for them, but he's not
the guy they're really looking for to take the top
off that defense. They're looking for something else, and you
know it could very well be Um Harry when he
gets back. But you gotta wonder how many weeks is

(34:53):
it actually gonna take him to get fully ready to
be on the field, especially as a rookie, would always
missed time not a good thing, so it's hard to
do that. But yeah, Jacoby Myers is another one they
really like. He shined in preseason. Maybe if he gets
another shot, maybe he does well. It's a it's a
rough situation, but I don't really think they're gonna go

(35:14):
out and invest heavily in another wide receiver because it's
just not something they really truly do. They make use
of whatever they have there. Uh So I think they're
gonna continue to use what they have, uh, roll everything
through Edelman. I think Ben Watson gets highly involved as well,
just because they don't have any other options at tight end,

(35:35):
so you know, the wide receiver position. I think they're
gonna muddle through with what they have. I don't think
they're gonna go out and spend a lot of money
get somebody else. If they can't get somebody they like
very cheaply, then maybe they do that, but they're not
going to invest heavily in it. Alright. So obviously the Panthers, Brown, Steers,
and Bucks on a by. So let's see if we
can invest in some of these quarterbacks in Super Flix

(35:57):
and two QB leagues Ryan Tanna Hill. Would you run
him out there or no way, I'm not running them
out there. Uh. Look, charges are have defense hasn't been
very good this year, but they've been okay there number
seven against opposing quarterbacks though, So while I do think
that Tannehill gives them a slight boost this week just
for the change at quarterback, I can't trust him. I

(36:20):
haven't at number twenty seven for the week. So even
in two quarterback leagues, he's outside the top two. All right.
Can you get behind garbage time for Andy Dalton against
the Jacksonville Jaguars this week? I can. I don't mind
Dalton at all. I think Dalton is gonna throw the
ball a lot autent Tate has really come into play here,
so I think you know he can Jacksonville can be

(36:42):
thrown on. So I think these guys can come into
play Dalton in a game that you know their home
dogs by unless I saw it was four points, you know,
there's still having over under like twenty points for their
team to score. So I think Dalton can put some
decent stats, and and only in a two cub league

(37:04):
or the super Flex what I consider the definitely not
in a one cob start league. All right, Speaking of
quarterbacks to Ian rappaport Is just reported that Mahomes is
facing a three to five week APPS and so basically
what we said at the top of the show, you're
looking at those couple of weeks and in the bye week,
so why would you rush him back, So understand that
that's where you're at. You're gonna miss at least probably

(37:26):
a month of Patrick Mahomes. Keep that in mind, look
at your standings. Understand where you are. How about Philip
Rivers or Derek Carr. Obviously both of these guys, there's
some issues back and forth. Year. You can make arguments
for and against either of these guys or both of them.
Startable this week, let's say low end even in a
single quarterback leaks oh um, Rivers, I have them at thirteen,

(37:50):
so he's you know, chest outside that realm, right on
the free. Yeah, even against that tough tiennes See team.
They need to get right though that and that's the problem.
It just haven't seen right. Hopefully they get right this week. Car,
you know against the Packers. Look, you can run against
the Packers, but you can't throw. So I'm not trusting him,
especially with his top weapon in Tyrelle Williams being out

(38:11):
this week. I wouldn't start him in anything other than
actually I wouldn't even start him in a two coud
quarterback league. I haven't all right. Let's move on to
the running backs here. Chase Edmonds we talked about earlier
Devin Singletary and Murray we kind of touched on here,
So let's talk about another guy. Let's talk about Adrian
Peterson because clearly, again he's the guy. The workloads, they're

(38:32):
kind of like Murray, but the matchup is not terrific.
So can you roll Adrian Peterson out there? Where do
you have me in the rankings where you say, okay,
this is the red line where you can and can't
start a P against the forty niners this week? Obviously, uh,
not the best matchup for him the way the fourty
nine have played, but sometimes you know, when we're having
boys and injuries, we have no choice. So where are

(38:52):
you at with a P as far away as possible? Um?
I know he had a good game last week against
the bad defense, and I get that, but against the
San Francisco defense, I'm not loving it. Even with Chris
Thompson out, I think we see a lot more Wendell's
Smallwood in this one than anybody predicts. Actually, like Wendel
Smallwood is a nice uh punt play in DFS this

(39:14):
week because especially in draft games with the PPR, I
like him to get you know, quite a few pass
plays in this one Peterson just have a hard time
getting behind him in this game against the forty Niners. Now,
I just love the name Wendel Smallwood. Sounds like a
Downton n Abbey character. Wendells small Wood comes in and
he has He's going to play infects positions this week

(39:36):
for you, It's going to be morthless. Let's go some
of these wilds with that name. We know the one
thing he couldn't do with that name being what's the one? Well?
You never know. I mean there's room in the adult
industry for even the small Woods, I imagine. So what
I did there? Let's you're in the wrong business, Jim

(40:01):
Day Man, oh man, we're gonna get We're gonna get
emails about this when I can tell you right now. Uh.
Gold Beasley over here. I think he's a great start
this week in a full point PPR against the Dolphins.
I love him this week. Audent Tape obviously getting some attention,
getting some targets. He's not catching a lot of them,
that's my problem, but still finding a way to return
fantasy volume. Uh fantasy investments. So do you think that

(40:24):
Audent tap is somebody you could roll out if you
like Dalton this week. Obviously, imagine you've got to be
pretty positive auto on Tates possibilities as well in garbage time, right, yeah,
I do. He's getting enough chances now, and like you said,
he's dropping a few passes. I get that, but he's
still making enough place where he's getting into double digit
scoring almost every week. I take that trend continues this

(40:45):
week against Jacksonville again, another defense where people are relying
on the name and not really the substance, because their
nineteenth against supposing wide receivers, so they can be thrown on. Alright,
let's move on to Mohammed's a new because if we're
expecting a ton of scoring and and maybe Janalen Ramsey
really does give Julio some fits today. It's the new

(41:07):
one of these guys that if you haven't floating around
a way for wire that you might stream this week
at the wide receiver position. Absolutely, I haven't been in
my wide receiver three range at number thirty five. I
think he's in play as well. He's you know, he's
the guy that Ryan is looking to any time he
needs to make a play right then and there, and
he's looking for some new you know, he's got the

(41:27):
two big playmakers in Ridley and Jones, but you know
Jones again going up against Janilien Ramsey will see how
much of Janilien's Ramsey's back was a real thing or not.
I don't think it was. But he's still been out
for a few weeks. I'm not sure if he's gonna
be good enough to hold Julio down all game. Plus,
we don't know if he's actually going to be following

(41:48):
Julio the entire game. That would be if I'm the
defensive coordinator, that's what I do with him, But we
just don't know if that's going to be the reality.
I think the new is very much in play here,
and I I am starting him in in almost every leak.
All right, let's talk about Crowder and Anderson because obviously
the Jets at a fantastic game against the Cowboys. Nobody

(42:08):
saw that coming, and nobody saw it coming out. O't
don't tell me you did, all right, I mean you, Jim,
I mean anybody else out there watching nobody saw it coming.
But tell me, this is the Patriots defense this week,
the whole different scenario. So are you equally confident running
them out off that big game because of how good
they were, or does it give you enormous pause because

(42:28):
the pats D has been just absolutely locked down so
far in twenty alla pats Dy hasn't face anybody that
you know, like this Jets offense with everybody in place.
You know now that they have bel Air, Anderson's healthy,
Crowder healthy, and now they got Darnald back. So it's
gonna be interesting to see how this England New England

(42:50):
defense can hold up against all this. You know, you
have multiple weapons there. We know that they like to
take out the top weapon in an offense. Well, who's
that gonna be. Is that gonna be Levian Bell? Is
that gonna be you know, Anderson? Or is that gonna
be Prowder? Who is a PPR machine? At this point,
I think they're in play, but they're like right on
the ende of a wide receiver three flex play for

(43:11):
me as opposed to anything higher. But I think, you know,
Anderson could he could make it happen with one big play.
Crowder could hit you with you know, ten twelve targets
and easily come out with a good PPR day. So
it's gonna be interesting to see how this comes together.
Jets finally get two of their best defenders back and C. J.

(43:31):
Mosley and Quentin Williams. So this could be a more
interesting game than it's setting up to be. All Right,
Alan Lazard, let's get at it. Where do you have
him ranked this week? And what's the scenario where you're
running them out there? And and and give me a line,
Give me a line of Alan Lazard, I mean four
or five or sixty five in a touchdown last week?
Do you think that he can repeat this line again?

(43:53):
Because if he does, I think all of us will
take that all day long. But even just the four
for sixty five, do you think that is doable this week?
I think that's easily doable. I'm all in on Lazard
this week. I've grabbed him in every league I could
um and I'm starting in the league's i grabbed him. Look,
it really came down to me watching that game last week.

(44:14):
Once they got Lazard on the field, even after dropping
that first pass, that it was Rogers looking Lazard every
time he dropped back. He was just looking for this kid,
one one play after another. Both both Allison and MVS
may play, but they're both thinged up. They're not you
know we found out later that Rogers asked for Lazard

(44:37):
to be on the field, And yeah, I think Lazard
is obviously in play here. I have him as wide
receiver three for the week, but he would easily have
wide receiver two upside. And I wouldn't be surprised he
saw five targets last week. I wouldn't be surprised if
he sees eight or nine in this one. I think
he puts up better numbers this week than he did
last week. All right, we're running out of time here,

(44:58):
give me one of these tight end do you like
the most? Fellas Hawkinson, Rudolph Ebron Go. I have Hockinson
highest in this at twelve this week. Um, I just
don't love the other options. And you know, Fells is
in play, but you're getting a little bit of back
and forth between him and Aikin's hopefully still continues to

(45:19):
be Fells. But I do like Hocketson in this one
in a game where he should be heavily invested. All right,
it's time for three and out. The three things that
we're watching for this Sunday. The first thing is that
Rams offense bouncing back in a big way against the Falcons.
Jim where are you looking for this Sunday? I want
to see my man gardener get back on track after
a bad week, everybody throwing him under the bus against

(45:42):
his Bengals defense. I expect him to come back strong.
What a surprise the man with excellent facial hair rooting
for the man with excellent facial hair not surprising at all,
obviously that sarcasm. The last thing is Russell Wilson putting another, uh,
another piece of trophy on the man toil there with
the m v P potentially this year, and I think

(46:02):
this w at home against the Ravens will go a
very very long way in doing that. All right. I
want to thank Davis Maddock for joining us and everybody
working behind the scenes. I want to thank Jim Day
obviously also always breaking down great knowledge. That'll do it
for us. But stick around Pro football today is just
getting started getting all the latest and news and notes
that will put this one in the books with the

(46:23):
story of the game goes on for Jim Day. I'm
Joe Piezappia. We'll see you next time. Kids want to

(47:09):
the run expert. That's my assumption is that they will
have him probably ready and practicing, and then with the
bye coming up, they'll say, you know what, let's see
what's going on. And who knows if the Chiefs will
be relevant by that. You know, they're coming off I
know they just won this past week. They were coming
off back to back bad losses. This puts them in
a bad spot, especially with the way that defense has played.
But enough about who's not it. Let's talk about who

(47:29):
is in and back. Patrick Peterson will be back today
facing the New York Giants. So that's a huge addition
to the Arizona Cardinals. And uh, look, I mean there's
certainly a defense that could use some help. We'll see
how active and how much of an impact he makes
on the field. Day. More guys out though, because Marky's
Brown looks like he's questionable. Uh, it's not trending in
the right direction. And then on top of that, you've
got a ton of guys uh for this Rams game

(47:51):
to to talk about because Jalen Ramsey will be back
there making his first start for the Rams, Girley will
be playing, Henderson will be playing, Malcolm Brown won't be playing,
so a lot to digest their Tyrelle Williams is going
to be out as well. Uh, Jim, how does this
work out now with the Raiders, because we know Josh
Jacobs has a huge role, He's the focal point of
the offense. Darren Waller certainly involved a lot, but now

(48:12):
you're taking Tyroll Williams. They are down another wide receiver.
So what does this do to the Raiders attack and
to the efficiency or effectiveness of both Josh Jacobs and
Derek Carr. Well, I think you know, it's not gonna
really hurt Josh Jacobs and unless actually may even help
him if they get him a little bit more involved
in the passing game with no Tyrolle Williams. I think

(48:33):
a lot of it is gonna come down to the
two tight ends, Waller and Foster Morrow, the rookie I
think would be highly involved. Outside of that, and it
it's really hard to see who were to these wide
receivers I'd take a shot on this week. Um, you
know is Za Jones, who just recently came over to
the team, might be in for a bigger game plan
than we expected normally if Williams was in there, but

(48:55):
with him out, we may see a lot of Z
Jones in this one. You know, that's a great name too.
I think that if you're in a deeper league and
you're looking for a wide receiver to stream this week,
that you've got a bunch of guys on boys. Maybe
z A Jones is that dark throw you take a
shot on. Maybe a missed out on Alan Lozard, who
might be another dart throw this week. Z Jones might
be a guy. With this news about Tyrone Williams. Also,

(49:16):
Alvin Kamara out for this one. UM not surprising considering
the game he had last week. So a lot of
Latavius Murray. We're gonna get to Latavius Murray A little
bit later on the show. So that's a tease for
those of you in the business. That's what that's called.
And we'll talk about whether or not he is a
good start or not against the Bears. But Devin Singletary's
back to Jim Dave real quick. I know we only
got a couple of seconds left. With the fact that

(49:37):
this probably will get out of hand here and you
would expect the Bills to be up. Do you think
Singletary gets enough traction in this game to be a
flex start, maybe in the fourth quarter, gets some action here.
I do think he's gonna be an obvious choice for
reflex start this week. I like him a lot. I've
liked him since preseason, so I think he definitely makes
them play this week.
