Enjoy the show, and thanks so much for listening. You

(00:27):
were now tuned in to the Rodeo Experts. Hey, yo,
what's up everybody. It's me Joey Be live on location
in New York and this is Rhodo Experts in the morning. Welcome,
Happy Thanksgiving everybody where you stuff your face with all
that turkey and all those sides and all of that pie,

(00:47):
I want you to stuff your ears with all of
the best fantasy football information you could possibly get. We've
got three games. I'd like to say they are three
great games, but we all know and honesty maybe too
at the most. But we're here anyway regardless. We're breaking
them all down for you. We're also going to talk
about the week that was and fantasy football and a
little bit about the week upcoming. Plus when we get

(01:09):
later onto the show, we're gonna have a little fun
and do a little a little redraft of the first
round how things look now compared to how things looked
in the beginning of the year, because I like perspective,
and especially around the holidays, don't you like to sit back,
relax and have a little taste of perspective. I know
I do. So my best friend is here to join
me and get a little bit more of that perspective

(01:30):
because I know it's not Sunday without Jim Day, but
it's also not Thanksgiving Day without Jim Day. So Jim
Day the fantasy Taz joins us. Jim. Happy thanks Giving,
my friend, and are you wearing your comfy pants for
Thanksgiving today? Absolutely? Happy Thanksgiving to you and of course
all our listeners for paying attention to us on a

(01:51):
Thanksgiving morning. But uh yeah, I always wear my coffy
pants on Thanksgiving. I gotta have a little room to
breathe because that definitely like my dirt. Well, I'll tell
you what. I'm just a fan of no pants at all.
I mean right now in this desk, and nobody knows
quite for sure. And that's the fun. As you're watching
here on Zoomo TV Channel seven one nine, you're watching

(02:12):
on Pluto TV channel five seventeen, and of course you
can watch live streaming on YouTube on sports grid dot
com as well. Get on the grid here with us
and uh, Jim, let's stick a little step back to
a couple of days ago, because I want to talk
about at Lamar jackson performance, because I think it's safe
to say at this point in the season, sides Christian McCaffrey,

(02:34):
Lamar Jackson probably is the number one difference maker in
fantasy leagues. And another show, he put on fifteen of
twenty passing hundred and sixty nine yards, not a huge
yardage total through the air, but he did have five
touchdowns passing, and he also ran from ninety five yards
on eight rushes. So, Jim Dave, we're basically sitting here

(02:55):
and basking in the glory of Lamar Jackson. An incredible
effort there by the organization by the Baltimore Ravens and
John Harbaught to basically create an offense around this guy.
And I think it speaks in the NFL of maybe
teams should really consider this more. Don't just draft a
guy for talent, draft a guy for the talent and
then cater things to that talent and make them more

(03:16):
effective because I think when you're looking at the pace
right now, right now, just for a perspective. Again, perspective
is the theme today on Thanksgiving. We're thankful for Lamar
Jackson stats, and we're thankful for two thousand, four hundred
seven yards, twenty four touchdowns, five picks, then a hundred
and twenty four rushes for eight seventies six on the
ground eight hundred seventy six yards already in Week thirteen,

(03:39):
six touchdowns. He's had three one yard rushing games. I
don't know about you, but Lamar Jackson, I feel like
there's not enough things, Jim, that we can say in
terms of compliments for this guy in the season he's had.
So where are you at with him for value in
next year? I know in single quarterback leagues it's a
tough sell to ever take a quarterback before the third round.
But as Lamar Jackson making a case, but maybe, just

(04:02):
maybe we have to rethink the way we even value
the quarterback position the way he's playing it. Uh, he
does make a case, but it's not going to be
a case for me. I'm still not going to take
him in the first round. This is the same exact
discussion we had at the beginning of this year for
Pat Mahomes after the season he had last year. You know,
should he be a first round pick? And you know,

(04:22):
the quarterback position is so deep. I know Jackson is
playing well above everybody right now. I get that, and
he's playing great. He's playing a lot better than I
thought he would, so I'll step right up to that.
I didn't think the arm would carry the way it has,
and he's made such great strides in becoming a better
QB passing wise this year and it's amazing. But at

(04:43):
the same time, quarterbacks are still going to be so
deep next year that I can't see investing a first
round pick. I tend to agree with you. I think
people are overrating this concept a little bit, and it's
because of the value of the position the single quarterback league,
because you are going to get my Homes next year,
maybe even on a slight his count in the fifth round.
Potentially you're gonna look at the other guys like Watson,

(05:04):
like Kyler Murray, like Josh Allen, who basically has become
the new Cam Newton. So in single quarterback leagues, I
just want to temper everybody's expectations as amazing and transport
of him has he as he's been the replacement value
at QB one Dak Prescott, another guy, Russell Wilson, another
guy you can go eight deep where you feel really
good about quarterback. I think next year at that position. Now,

(05:25):
I'm gonna change the question for you, Jim Day in
a super flex league, how early would you draft Lamar
Jackson in that scenario on the super Flex league, I'd
take him in the first round. Absolutely. I'd like to
take a you know, one of the top quarterbacks early
on in the super Flex and then follow the trend

(05:46):
over the next few rounds and see how many go
off the board. But I like getting one of those
top qub's early. Yeah, I'm with you. I would take
him as early, uh, probably right after CMC and Cook
and Thomas. I think he's right there at four for me.
I think especially because of the all purposeness, you know,
the fact that he's getting these rushing touchdowns, the factor
he's running so much, you know, it's just an incredible thing.

(06:06):
And I think especially next year. You know, it's one
thing to try to project in a keeper in dynasty league.
What it's gonna be, but just for next year loan,
you have to like the value there. Now, let's let's
get to some of the injury news and notes and
things that you need to know as you're making adjustments
to lineups or possibly even making adjustments your lineups in
today's game as you're getting through. Obviously, Driscal is out today,

(06:27):
so uh ball is gonna play quarterback, Uh not semi
ball or bow as they like to call him. Look,
I'm sorry, I'm um. I don't think David Blow is
going to do too much today. I don't think you're
gonna be very excited about what he does for Marvin Jones,
what he does or doesn't do for Kenny Holiday, both
Scarborough in the whole bunch. Maybe I'm wrong, Maybe a
miracle happens, but I don't think it's a good play.

(06:49):
But you need to understand this because you have to
look at what else is going on. So here's my
question to you, Jim, would you be considering Benching Holaday,
Marvin Jones, and Fiver of maybe some other marginal wide
receiver talent, maybe even like Darius Slayton. Would you start
Darius Slayton over either of those two guys. Considering where
we're at with quarterback, well, to start any line in

(07:14):
this game is gonna be tough. It just is. We
have no idea what to expect from David Blow this
in this game. He could come out, like you said,
and surprise all of us and start slinging darts over
all over the field. Does that happen? I don't think
it's gonna happen, So no, yeah, I would. I would
definitely venture to sit collar day. Look, golle, they didn't

(07:34):
even do well with Driscoll in the center. He really
took a main big hit there, so I think he's
gonna take another one. The only guy I might even
think about doing playing in this game for lines is
Marvin Jones, and even then I don't love it. Um.
You know, I didn't really know a lot about David
Blow until yesterday when we found out he was darting.

(07:54):
So I looked at him a little bit. And one
of the key concerns about him is that he tends
to stare down his targets. Well, if he's stares down
his targets against this Bears defense, he's gonna pay a
heavy price, and that's gonna really hurt his team, and
you know, it really could change the outlook of the
game right from the start if he's making those kinds

(08:14):
of mistakes. Yeah, it's definitely a tough sell. There some
other injury news to report to Juju Smith Schuster still
dealing with the knee brace right now and yesterday's practice
James Conner still sidelined as well, so the Steelers have
a lot of issues there. Adam Feeling also sidelines, so
we're not We'll get you updated on Sunday when Jim
and I were back about that one too. That's one
to keep an eye on as well. That doesn't seem

(08:35):
to be turning in the right direction from Monday night,
but he has that extra day. Uh, John Elways trying
to figure out who is caringbacks gonna be? Is it
gonna be Alan? Is it gonna be locked? A lot
to get you there, and we've got a lot more
to get to. We come back, Jim Day and I
are gonna break down all three games here your fantasy style,
and on top of that, we're also gonna get to
the rest of the news and notes going on at

(08:55):
fantasy football. It's Thanksgiving here on the grid, so I'll
pull up a chair. You've got lots of plates where
you grab a plate yourself and go help yourself. But

fantasy football with you on Thanksgiving. It's a lovely holiday.
I it's time to relax, get a cup of coffee,
watch a little fantasy football show and hang out with
me and Jim Day. Davis Mattock, Mr roto Expert is

(10:08):
gonna be joining us in the next segment through a
little fantasy football roundtable with him. But Jim Day, let's
get after today's games and break them down fantasy football style,
and we're gonna do our best here with this one.
It's Mitch Drabinsky and the Bears against the Lions, and
we talked about David blow being the new quarterback here
of the Lions today. Driskill unable to go with the

(10:29):
hamstring issue, and certainly that's gonna be a downgrade across
the board there both Scarborough. You know, here's the thing
to Let's let's talk about Scarborough first and get this
out of the way, Jim, because I feel like for
Scarborough to have any kind of value, you really need
allow to move the chains. You need him and to
get first downs, you need him to continue to give

(10:51):
him opportunities for volume, and I have real concerns with that.
So where does this bump down to you in terms
of the rankings for Scarborough this week? He's had a
good little run here, There's no doubt about that. Maybe
in standard he's still a flex league because you're looking
for maybe falls in the end zone, maybe the end
of the day that gets you a dozen points. Maybe
he gets you sixty yards and then the touchdown to
get you another six. But I'm curious, where do you

(11:12):
have in your rankings this week and how do you
see this working out for him in terms of a
line today for the Lions. I don't like him at all. Um,
I'm not even gonna touch him in this in this matchup. Look,
let's face it with with Blow in there at quarterback,
the Bears are just gonna crowd that box with everything
they have and just dare Blow to beat them, and

(11:33):
I just don't think he can. Because of that, I
think they're going to be all over this running game
and trying to shut it down right from the get go.
So uh, you know, between that and the fact that
you know it could always turn out to be the
next guy up. DII Johnson is the guy getting in there,
and who knows, it's it's just consideration for me. But

(11:54):
with with Blow under center, I can't trust any of
these backs. All right, There's really not too much else
to say here. Like we said earlier in the first second,
maybe a miracle happens and it's a really good television.
I'm guessing it's probably gonna be more of i'll blowout
kind of game and probably um time to start looking
for the appetizer platter on Thanksgiving. That's probably my guest.
But let's move on here to the bear side of

(12:16):
this football game. Drabinsky obviously comes out flat pretty much
every single game. We know Allan Robinson is going to
be that guy we can count on for what seven
for seventy seven with a little touchdown upside as well.
I think he's got a good matchup in this game.
I like him a lot. Let's get to the running backs, though, Jim,
because we've got David Montgomery, who it seems like, regardless
of volume, just doesn't seem to be working out. It

(12:36):
just doesn't seem to be happening this year. We can
make a lot of comments as to why. We can say,
as the offensive line, we can put it on Montgomery.
You can put it on Drobisky for being a little
predictable maybe or inconsistent. But for me, I'm looking in
this one and I feel like terre Con is a
better play in this game, especially in the full and
half point PPR format. You look at the last three weeks,
he's got double digits, yes, slightly touchdown dependant, but somebody

(12:57):
has to score a touchdown here. So I think three
Cone is a guy that he has a little bit
of flex appeal on this matchup, and especially if we
are talking about this being a game where the Lions
keep three and out three and out pun punt, punt,
there are going to be some more opportunities here, at
least for the Bears. So how do you feel about
Cone versus Montgomery? Break him down for me, Jim, Well,

(13:20):
it's easy. Yeah. PPR League absolutely Cohen is to play
because they love getting him that ball in that short
passing game. And we've really seen him come alive in
the last three weeks double digit points in fantasy and
all three of those games, uh and two touchdowns in
two out of the three. So you know, I like
what he's doing. And you know last week against Giants

(13:42):
he had seven catches, albeit it was only for twenty
nine yards, but you know what, those seven for twenty
nine is still nine point nine points. And anything he
gives you on the ground is just a little bonus. Uh.
So that helps Montgomery. I mean this should be the game,
a game that they just put the ball in Montgomery's
hands and let him batter it out all games, but
they just haven't been doing that. And to me, a

(14:04):
lot of that balls on Matt Nigh. He just tends
to get too cute with his play calling. You know,
he just tries too many different things that aren't working.
He keeps putting the ball in Trabinsky's hands when he
does have a good running back back there, and that
scares me when you're looking at you know, William Montgomery
and he's only getting ten eleven, twelve, thirteen touches a game.

(14:26):
That's just not gonna do it. For any running back.
You need to give them consistency, let him get a
feel for what's going to happen here. And you know
that's what we're looking at with this this game. The
range outcomes here is huge because of the change at
quarterback for Detroit. Uh, if I'm Chicago, all I want
to do is run run it right down there. As
Detroit is a team that could be run against, no

(14:48):
doubt about it. There over the last five weeks against
the running back in fantasy. So you know, this should
be a game to get David Montgomery going. And you know,
if he has a good game, I won't be surprised
but it's so hard to count on right now with
the way they're using him. So Cohen to me, has
to be a guy you want to get in this matchup,

(15:09):
and uh, you know, especially Taylor Gabriels out, so they
need somebody else. Anthony Miller comes into play as well,
So I think Cohen is the guy you want to own.
But it won't surprise me if they finally take the
training wheels off of David Montgomery and give him twenty
touches in this Yeah, I'm gonna put it a metaphor.
This game is the cranberry sauce of Thanksgiving meal. That's

(15:31):
what this game is. It's there, you're looking at it.
You know it's gonna be there every year because it's
the Lions. That's what it is. They're the cranberry sauce.
That's it. Now, this next game, Dallas Buffalo, to me,
this is the Turkey, this is the ham. This is
what I'm looking forward to because I think this is
gonna be a very fun game to watch. You got
two big time quarterbacks here, Deak Prescott, you got Josh Allen.

(15:54):
Alan has turned into Cam Newton. I keep saying it
over and over again, but statistically speaking, that's who he
is right now. I'm fascinated to see, let's let's start
in the first time of this over on the Bill
side of this. I'm fascinating to see what happens here
because I feel like the way to beat them is
to double team on John Brown now and make them
beat you with Singletary and make them beat you with
go or make them beat you with Beasley. If you
can do that the way Denver Broncos kind of did

(16:16):
last week, I think you have a real opportunity here
if you're the Cowboys, to really jump back into things
and get a big victory here on Thanksgivings. So my
question to you is do you think John Brown can
work out of that and still be very productive. There's
no way we're taking him out of lineups. But I'm
curious what your expectation is in this one for John
Brown today because of what you saw last week and
the way Denver handled him, and that's it. I mean,

(16:40):
I do think they try everything they kind to take
John Brown out of the game because the options definitely
dwindle fast after that. I do like Pol Beasley in
what could be a revenge game going up against his Cowboys.
I think he ends up having a good game here
John Brown. You know, I wouldn't be surprised at all
if we're looking at, you know, something like a six
for sixty five game out of him, which at least

(17:02):
gets you to those double digits. And there's always an
opportunity for him because of his talent to get that
big play touchdown. So you do have that kind of upside.
But you know, the Cowboys, while on the season are
number five against opposing wide receivers, over the last five
weeks are actually number eleven, so they slipped down a
little bit. Um, and you know, they they've been losing

(17:23):
a little bit of their defense lately. Um. Of course,
you know, Vandersh is out and that hurts them. Shaun
Lee is definitely a nice replacement, but he's still not Vandresh,
so it does hurt their defense a little bit. Um.
You know, again, I think he gets to the low
double digits, but I don't really think he gets too
much more than that. Yeah, I tend to agree with you.

(17:45):
I think John Brown can still get to touchdown this
game still be useful, and I think in terms of
the volume that we've seen the first ten weeks. That's
something to keep in mind. On the flip side of
this one with the Cowboys, I think this is a
gain right game. I look forget last week. Last week
was a terrible situation in New England. Tough defense, terrible weather,
all the negatives against him. Dak Prescott has been terrific. Now.
I do think same deal. Tough secondary here with the Bills. Jim,

(18:07):
when you're looking at this, do you think that this
is a big Randall Cob game potentially because you figure
that secondary is gonna really have a good gauge on
Gallup and on Amari Cooper, and it's gonna be a
lot of Zeke and a lot of Randall Common, a
lot of underneath stuff in this attack. Yeah, I do.
I think it's absolutely that way. I think they're gonna do.
Davis White is gonna be on Cooper pretty much all game.

(18:30):
And you know, he's done a great job of shutting
everybody down all year. Another one of those shutdown corners
that just gets the job done. And Cooper has never
really shown that he could step up against better competition. Look,
he's a good wide receiver, but every time he goes
up against the top corner he tends to just fall
on his face. So don't love Cooper and this one
at all. Wouldn't mind sitting him. If I have that

(18:52):
option and there's a few wide receivers, I would play
over him that our marginal wide receivers in this one.
I do think Cop continues his strong play of late
there there, you know, seeming to be in the same
uh game plan between him and Doc. They seem to
know what what's going on, So I like that competition. Uh,

(19:12):
you know, Kyler couldn't even be in play with a
big play, but he flows Tom. Yeah they are. And
I'll tell you what else, who else is tough as
Davis Maddock. He's gonna join us. We'll break down the
Saints and Falcons and do a little fantasy roundtable. Rhoto

I'm ready, I'm ready to eat my body wave and

I'm just gonna say, that's why Davis looks the way
he looks. That's right, Davis. You're you're smarter than us,

(21:47):
so we can ignore us when it comes to side.
You're you're making the right decisions for your body. Before
we get into the other game here, we got the
night game here with the Saints and the Falcons. I
want to know, Davis, how do you feel about this? Uh?
This change? A quarterback that's coming here in Denver and
what we should think of it, because I think a
lot of people overreacted when Brandon Allen took over at

(22:08):
quarterback and said, oh well, there goes Cortland Sutton and
then Cortland Suthing had some good games there and I
know last week didn't go so well. Brandon Allen's probably out.
It looks like they're moving towards Lock if that switch
does happen, Davis, would you be okay with Courtland Sutton?
And I actually really love this matchup against the charges
of Philip Lindsay. I'm curious how you feel about going forward.
I know Lock has some limitations. I know it's early,

(22:30):
but is maybe the best time to jump on this
the first shot out of the gate before there's more
tape on him? Definitely? I mean, and we saw that
with Brandon Allen. Right the the the teams that played
Brandon Allen his first two games, they didn't they didn't
really know the same when you think about it, Yeah,
I mean, that's just kind of the way it is
with the young quarterbacks. You know, they they play in

(22:51):
college three years ago, they've been on the team probably
like Brandon Allen, and Jeff Drisco. We're on practice squads
and then they come out and they play and defenseive
coordinator just don't even know what kind of schemes like,
what kind of routes like these guys are going to
be throwing. So maybe maybe Locke gets that bump for
a week. I would expect rough, rough stuff ahead for him, though,
because he is not the most cerebral quarterback in the NFL.

(23:15):
That's that's a very delicate way of putting. See how
Davis is talking. He's saying nice things, but he's kind
of backhanding compliments or should I say backhanding insults more appropriately.
That's how you should do it at Thanksgiving, say things
like that when you don't think somebody so smart, Well,
he's not the smartest guy in the world. See, it
sounds a lot better when you say it that way. Uh,
let's let's move on a little bit to this Nextically,

(23:37):
if you have a dry turkey, turkey, you should say
it's just it's lacking moisture. Yes, it's exactly right. See, Jim,
you get it. You get it, Jim, that's exactly right.
Let's go onto this game here with the Falcons and Saints. Uh.
I would normally say this is a trap game, except
for the fact weeks ago the Falcons went in there
and slapped around the Saints. So I think the Saints

(23:58):
are ready. They're looking for some revenge here. They have
a really good situation here to come back there. All
systems go now. Lattimore still questionable. It's trending like he's
going to play. So Jim, let's start with you here.
With Julio Jones doing with the shoulder injury questionable too,
and the matchup potentially with Lattimore in this game, how
does this affect your lineups? Are you looking for more
boom in the rest of your line up if you're

(24:19):
starting Julio out there this week? Yeah, it's tough. Definitely
looking for more upside everywhere else, just because there is
a good possibility that, first of all, Julio doesn't make
it through the game if he starts, and even if
he does, the matchup could just take him out of
it because they could be using him as a decoy
on the field, and that's scary as well. Um, you

(24:41):
know that that shoulder is gonna be tough. All he's
gotta do is fall on it wrong. Once and he's done.
And you know that's always a big possibility when you're
dealing with something like this. Plus the fact you don't
know if he's gonna have a full range of motion
with that arm to be able to go up and
get that ball, and that's scary too. So this is
a tough situation action. Here's a lot of top receivers

(25:01):
this week that are either a little nicked up or
have really tough matchups that are really going to put
people behind the april when it comes to making Week
thirteen start sit decisions. Really is Hopkins has a tough matchup?
You know, there's a lot of these guys Cooper Jones
that are really going to make it tough to make
lineup decisions this week. Davis went on the flip side

(25:22):
of that too. Let's let's run this scenario that Julio
does play in latinmore's on them. How does this impact,
say Russell Gauge and now returning DeVonta Freeman, who's finally
back in the lineup too, Because one could argue Gage
was getting some work there with Freeman on the shelf.
Now Freeman's back, How do you see this all working out?
Are these guys, you're just running back out there in
lineups no matter what Davis or Are these guys that

(25:42):
you're a little bit concerned with based upon potential volume
remaining in the offense. Now, these these are guys I
definitely am all running out I I should say though,
while we're talking about the Atlanta offense and Julio Jones,
I'm expecting him not to play. He looked pretty banged up.
And now last game he you know, he went back
out there in the second half after going to the

(26:04):
locker room, and he just looked like every step he
took like it was just it was causing him a
ton of pain. So I just think that he probably
is not going to be able to be active in
this game. Well, if that's the case, you downgrade Ridley
in your DFS lineups, I would go up with Gauge instead,
and a little bit of Freeman too, because I do
think Atlanta will be from behind. Now I want to

(26:24):
talk a little bit about this too, because Alvin Kamara
are certainly from a data standpoint, has a great matchup
against Atlanta because we all know Atlanta struggles with running
backs to catch the football. But it's that touchdown upside
that Camara has kind of lacked this year. That can
be a bit of an anomaly. Do you think that
gets right today or do you think they continue to
get down low in there and it becomes the Latavious
Murray show again. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I think

(26:50):
that there's enough for both of them to eat. I
think it seems like a like a great day for
for both of them to be able to uh, you know,
like get if both of them scored two touchdowns today,
it would not be the most surprising outcome of the day. Probably,
all right, So let's move on to some big picture
fantasy stuff here because we are kind of basically at

(27:10):
the end of the regular season. We got the playoffs
waiting for most of us in week's fourteen, fifteen, and sixteen.
So Jim, obviously the last two years have pretty much
been dominated by Christian McCaffrey. I mean, he has just
been all world last two years. I'm curious this incredible
pace he's on yet again, do you think, Jim, that
this is something he can sustain for another couple of years? Like,

(27:30):
if you're a Dynasty Keeper League owner of Christian McCaffrey,
how many years are you willing to go in with
this volume before you start to get a little concerned
that it starts to take its toll on him. Well,
I think he's got a couple more years. But if
I'm a dynasty owner now, you know, I'm looking at
getting another really good year out of him next year,

(27:51):
and then once that happens at the trade denline next year,
I might put it out there and see what I
can get in return for him. If I can get
a really good package for him at that point, I
take the chance. Look, he's doing great, There's no doubt
about it. He's the best running back in football right now,
bar none easily. But the problem is we know how

(28:12):
long good running backs can last in this league. There's
some that can last a long time, like Frank Gore,
but there's others that don't, like Terrell davis Um And
you know, it's a really tough situation. But if he's
having another great year like this next year, I might
be looking at moving him at that point if I
can get a great package for him of a bunch

(28:33):
of good young players and maybe a couple of draft picks.
Would you be in that same vein here, Davis? Would
you be looking to possibly sell next year at the
high point, or maybe even in the off season the
following year in the Dynasty League to kind of maximize
that return, knowing that eventually this volume, whether it be
Eric Dickerson, whether it be Marshall Falk, whatever it is,
eventually some of this volume catches up with these guys.

(28:56):
So it kind of depends on the context of my roster.
My roster was good, like like, you know, I'm I'm
in first or second of my league, and you know,
most weeks I go in being a favorite, but I
don't have a super team. I probably would sell them.
You know, if I have Lamar Jackson and Michael Thomas
and Christian McCaffrey and Travis Kelsey, you know, a guy
just I just have this super team, No way do

(29:18):
I trade him, because it's too fun to just have
a team that can just crush your league. But yeah,
if you were, if you're in a position where you
could rebuild or you could win the league and kind
of do both with you know, ease, I would I
would lean more on the side of selling him for
a huge package. All right, Now, we've got a huge
game coming up obviously this weekend, it's basically a playoff
game already in a lot of sense because of the
implications of it. Ravens at home against the forty Niners. Now,

(29:42):
if the forty Oiners lose this game and all of
a sudden Seattle wins on Monday night, they are tied,
Seattle has a tiebreaker. They're going into Week seven team
where the're gonna play each other. That's gonna be fascinating
to watch. And on the forty Niner side of this one,
look the two quarterbacks that are given them trouble, and
then Kyler Murray and Russell Wilson, guys who are elusive
in the pocket. So, Davis, I want to ask you first,
do you think Lamar Jackson is gonna give you full

(30:05):
Lamar Jackson in this game? Because it seems like the
aggressiveness of the forty nine Ers really plays into the
strength of Lamar Jackson's ability to be elusive in the pocket.
So do you think that this all systems go and
he is going to really shock the world and put
up another huge game on this forty Niners defense has
been great all year? Um, oh, definitely, I do I

(30:25):
I he is my number one ranked quarterback this week,
and uh, I just have I have no I have
no qualms about his performance. An elite quarterback is pretty
much always going to be better than the best possible defense.
And Lamar is playing the game at a level right
now that that we've honestly never seen. Yeah, just please
please don't put him on the Madden cover. That's all

(30:47):
I'm asking. Can we please not put Lamar Jackson on
the Madden cover next year? Or Christian McCaffrey. Uh, that's
for sure. Davis. I want to thank you so much
for joining us, especially on the holiday. I know it's
not easy. I'm curious, what's your favorite game today? Which
game are you gonna have your most attention on? Well,
you know, lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, I start every year

(31:08):
in August thinking I don't care about the team, and
then by Thanksgiving every year, I'm wearing my Tony Romo
to the dinner table. So that's the game. Well, I
wish you luck in that one, and hopefully you eat
before just in case the outcome is not to your liking.

(32:58):
No Turkey's ear personally, I'm a ham guy when it
comes to Thanksgiving the turkey. Oh, I'm a ham guy,
Jim Day, I like that. I'm not against the turkey.
Not enough people know how to cook the turkey right,
Like turkey gets dry, doesn't know he's heat up right
the next day. Give me the ham. I think it's
all about the ham on Thanksgiving. That's my take on it. Uh.

(33:20):
Speaking of takes, Jim, I know you've got one as well.
When it comes to as Cowboys bills. You can boom
me all you want. It's my take. I'm sticking to it.
I'm gonna make the ham today when I get home.
That's what I gotta do. I gotta cook for all
the Italians coming over the house. But Jim, I want
to ask you this. Everybody's making a big stink about
how the Cowboys don't beat teams with good records, and uh,
you know the Bills have a good record, But at

(33:42):
the same time, I think I feel like you throw
out a lot of that stuff because somebody's gonna win
today and somebody's gonna lose. So how overrated is that? Conceptually?
Are we looking at a spot where it look it's
Cowboys Thanksgiving Day? Short week, They got embarrassed a little
bit in New England. Owner calls him out, what's take
on this one year? How the Cowboys respond? Well, I

(34:04):
think they come out. Look, Vegas obviously thinks that they're
they're a good that they're at minus six and a
half as of this morning at home against his Bill's team.
That's a pretty good defense. And you know the Bills.
Both of these teams have not won games against winning teams.
I think they're winning percentage in their wins against their
teams is I think both under two fifty are really

(34:26):
close to it. Uh So, you know, they seem to
play down to the level of their opponents when they
need to, and then when they go up against the
better teams, they're just not putting in good efforts. Of course,
one of them has to win, and that's gonna push
that that number up for them. One of them. I
do think Dallas wants to come out with all his
talk all week about Jason Garrett and Willie be the

(34:48):
you know, coach of the future. At this point, he
shouldn't even be the coach of the present. But that's
a different discussion altogether. Um. I do think they want
to come out and prove something on Turkey Day A,
you know, in this primetime game against a good defense,
and I'm looking for them to want to come out
and push that. Now. The real question to me is

(35:09):
do they come out like they were in the beginning
of the year, where they were mixing it up and
you know, changing up motion and keeping people on the
move and throwing on first down, or do they go
back to what they've been doing the last month, which
is back to running on first down, back to pedestrian
play calling, you know, all of that stuff. Because if
they do that, I think they have a chance to

(35:31):
lose to the Bills if they don't try to upgrade
this game plan back to what they were doing in
the beginning of the year when Kellen Moore obviously had control,
because it doesn't seem like he does now, but when
he had controlled this offense was exciting. They haven't been
getting the ball into Zeke Elliott's hands enough, especially in
the passing game, and I think they need to change

(35:52):
that against this defense. If I'm Dallas, I'm coming out
throwing in this game and trying to put pressure on
the Buffalo defense right from the start, not trying to
establish the run. Yeah, I would agree with you. Actually,
I talked about that on the DFF Show this morning
to about how the way you beat Buffalo is to
run the football. Those short passes underneath. You don't want
to get tangled up with that secondary. Too much talent there,

(36:13):
hit too hard, they covered too well. So I'm with
you on that one for sure. And I do think
they get back to it, and I think they get
back to in a big way. But I think Buffalo
keeps pace fourth quarter, Dallas pulls away. But I think
this will be the most enjoyable of the three games
to watch as a football fan, for sure. We teased
before at the break about kind of stepping back now
that we have perspective on the season and and how

(36:35):
we would reorganize the first round. And I'm gonna throw
something out that you hear, Jim Dan. I want to
hear what you think obviously going into this year, the
consensus was had those four guys at the top. It
was CMC, Zeke uh Sae Kwon, Barkley, Avin Kamara. Those
are the four different people would order different guys and
different orders depending on the format or depending on the
likes and dislikes. And now I think CMC clearly at

(36:58):
number one. I'm gonna make the case for Michael Thomas
at two because of the consistency. Now, I know some
people will argue Dalvin Cook or even Ezekiel Elliott, and
I'm fine with that. But to me, if you're up
at the top, taking Michael Thomas, who every week you
know you're gonna get fifteen to twenty points out of him,
and then doubling up at running back in the second
and third round, I think it's a fantastic strategy to

(37:18):
go with. I'm curious, would you put Michael Thomas up
at two or you have Dalvin Cook or somebody else
that you put up there. Actually I do. I have
Dalvin Cook it too, but Thomas at three. So I'm
I'm right with you. You know, if we're splitting hairs
and don't get that run, that's what we're doing Yeah, yeah,
really absolutely splitting. Here's no doubt, Um, But you're right.
Thomas is, you know, absolutely the safest bet outside of

(37:41):
CMC right now. He's consistently doing everything you need him
to do, each and every week, doesn't matter to matchup,
doesn't matter who's even under quarterback for them, he still
puts up major points and you love that. I do
like Cook just because I I've always loved Cook, um
and the first time he's stay healthy and that's a
great thing. So you know, I could easily flip flop

(38:03):
them at doing three and have no problem with it. Well,
that was part of my reasoning they're too Jim, was
because this has been a great year for Dalvin Cook.
And I am the biggest Dalvin Cook fan there is.
I owned so many shares him his rookie year, Disappointed,
owned so many shares of him last year, Disappointed. I
owned zero shares this year because it was kind of
like an abusive relationship and eventually I just had to

(38:25):
take myself out of it. And of course he goes
on to do what he's doing this year. But I
feel like the consistency of Michael Thomas here the last
couple of years, we have to take notice of and
kind of value that just slightly higher than this one
great season we're seeing out of Dalvin Cook. As great
as it is, I am also concerned with the potential
for him to hold out next year too, because he's

(38:45):
on that fourth year of the deal. It only had
one big season, He's had a bunch of injuries, they
have mats and they're already. Are you concerned it all
with the Dalvin Cook holdal potentially next year? Oh? Man,
I tell you truth, I haven't really even thought about.
I know, I just ruined her Thanksgiving, That's what I did.
I ruined everyone's holiday. Yeah, yeah, I totally hadn't even

(39:07):
put that into perspective yet. But yeah, you know, it's
definitely a concern. We've seen it too often and again
with Zeke we saw what the holdout did to him,
very slow start and still not really where he should be,
uh this late in the season. So it's definitely a concern.
Oh man, Okay, Okay, Now Dalvin Cook is going down
to nine. All right, let's let's go to the next

(39:30):
grouping too, because I think four or five, six, seven
is really up to for debate, maybe even eight. I
have it like this so far, I will still take
Ezekiel l A because I still all up for debate.
I do well. I mean, I think the three is
the three right now, and then I've got Zeke for
Net Aaron Jones and Kimara and then Chub right after that,
depending on how things work out, whether or not Kareem

(39:51):
Hunt comes back, where it goes somewhere else. I'm kind
of keeping my options open there. So basically I've bought
Barkley all the way down to nine. So out of
these guys Zeke, four Net Jones, Camara, Chubb, do you
have a preference? In my mind, what I was looking
for was the volume first, so I put Zeke and
four Nette up there, especially with the new for Neet
catching balls all the time. And then I'm keeping that

(40:12):
upside of Camara, hoping that maybe next year is a
healthier year. And Chubb has been very steady, so I
valued him over at eight. I'm curious, do you have
any guys that you would move up move down? Have
one that you like more or like less that you
would take Umbradge with? Uh not take Umbrage. Look at
this point, does nobody can take Umbradge with um, I
don't have four neet as high as you do. I

(40:32):
actually have him down at ten. Again, you're you're worried
about cooking his injury history. Same thing with me a
little bit with four net first year he stayed healthy.
I do like the fact that he's catching all the passes.
That's good. Definitely helps his numbers. But even with that,
he's still not, you know, in those top numbers for
me at running back. UM. So yeah, I definitely have

(40:54):
a few other guys that I like above him, and
one that you don't even have in your top ten
I have above him, uh, and that's Austin Ekeler. I
don't think Gordon is going to be there next year.
Austin Ekeler is a free agent, but I have to
believe they sign him after the year he's having. And
right now, Austin Ekeler is the number three running back
in PPR leagues. So if Gordon is gone and he

(41:17):
is the man next year, I gotta love his chances
of putting up a great season the way he's looked
so far this year, I I have I have toyed
with him in the first round, and that's conceptual idea too.
Because I believe that you're right, Gordon will be somewhere else,
and if that is the case, then maybe we do
move him into the first round. I'm also a little
concerned about the play of Philip Rivers, but that might

(41:38):
be a story for Sunday Show. Between you and I,
we can talk more about that. Barkley I have at
nine because I'm not ready to give up on the talent.
I just think he's not healthy. So I'm hoping for
some better health next year and the bounce back. And
I'll tell you what, if you can get Barkley next
year in the middle to late rounds of the first right,
and then that in that section anywhere between picks four

(41:58):
and picks eleven, maybe even go as deep as that.
I don't think he makes it to the turn. That's
a huge potential win there, because this is a guy
who has number one overall talent. But it's very difficult
because I feel like we're all very reactionary, and there's
a recency bias against injuries and against guys like se
Quon who I mean, let's be honest, he's had a
down year because of the injury. So people get a
little afraid of that. Do you think that's gonna happen

(42:20):
or do you think by the time we turn the
page into next August he goes right back into that
top five conversation. I think a lot of people put
in there. I have met six right now, just because
of the potential of what he can do. We know that,
but the injury, Like I agree with you, he's just
not healthy. I think they tried to rush him back

(42:41):
for no reason whatsoever. Did they have to rush him back?
This season is lost? Um, the same thing they're doing
with Starling Shephard. I don't understand why they're not shutting
these guys down, letting get fully healthy for next year.
This year means nothing. You have guys that can do
the job behind them, let them do it. Uh So,
just stupid man between on their part as far as

(43:02):
I'm concerned. But I do think, you know, if he's
fully healthy going into next year, there's gotta be people
that want to put him in that top three or
four again. All right now at the bottom here at ten, eleven, twelve,
barring Austin Ekeler situation, which is obviously something to monitor
and I strongly considered it, and I favored these other
guys too, a little bit more known entities, Hopkins, Evans, Godwin.

(43:23):
To close it out, um, again, we don't know necessarily
who's going to be the quarterback of the Bucks next year,
so I can imagine the offense changing all that much,
or these guys all of a sudden not being as
productive just because Jamis Winston is not the quarterback. But
it's something to consider. Hopkins obviously a year that I
think we look back on it now and it's disappointing
because of Hopkins standard. Same thing with Davantae Adams. You
can put him in this conversation. You could put Julio

(43:45):
in this conversation. But when you get to a ten, eleven, twelve,
or maybe even just the post Michael Thomas wide receivers
in your mind, who are the next three guys? How
would you rank them in terms of Hopkins, Godwin, Evans, Adams, Julio.
I don't think we're gonna put Juju back in that
conversation right away, so I'm curious what your thoughts are
with that second tier of one A guys. The next

(44:09):
three are definitely the guys you mentioned, Hopkins, Julio, Jones,
and Davante Adams. Uh, they're all there. But when I
did this list, um, I didn't end up with Adams
in my top twelve. Um, just because you know, the
injury concerns, the concerns with Aaron Rodgers and this offense
not just not seeming to be the same. Um. You

(44:31):
know they're winning games, but the offenses and putting up
the numbers were kind of used to and that's a
little scary. So I ran it through a couple of times,
and it just didn't end up with Adams in my
top twelve this year. Yeah, I kind of agree with
you to just kind of where they're going. It's why
I like Aaron Jones so much, because I feel like
second half of last year into this year, you've seen

(44:51):
a real move of this offense to running the football.
All right, let's do a little three and out here Thanksgiving. Addition,
the things that we're looking for today, we'll go real fast.
Sing round to me. I'm looking for a healthy DeVonta Freeman.
Let's see you get on the field and be productive. Jim,
what are you looking for on Thursday? Hey, I'm looking
for Lamar Jackson to show everybody that the forty Niners

(45:14):
are a fraud. Look, yeah, yeah, I'm sorry. I just
I had to do to me. This is the biggest
game in the week. You know, two top teams going
up against each other. This is the game of the
week for me. And I just think Lamar Jackson is
gonna show the holes me too. Man. I just think

(45:35):
he's gonna give them fits. I feel real confident against Baltimore.
We'll see what happens there. So I'm knocking the forty
Niners two. But then he asked Jimmy g to do
a lot to catch up. In that game, Raven's defense
played very well. Also, last thing I'm looking forward today Thanksgiving. Addition,
I'm looking for Devin Singletary to go out there and
have a hundred yards and I'd like him to have
a touchdown. Is it too much to ask for Devin
Singletary to get a touchdown? I don't think so, and

(45:57):
I would like to see it. So I want to
thank Davis Maddock for Jourdan Sides always want I think
everybody's working here on the holiday today, I want to
thank you for listening, and of course Jim Day for
joining me as my co host. That'll do it for me.
Pro Football Today Mike Blewett and friends will be on
right after me, So stick around, stay on the grid,
Happy Thanksgiving everybody that I'll do it for me. See
you next time, kids. I want to be the next

what you missed on the rut of experts. I do
think Atlanta will be from behind. Now. I want to
talk a little bit about this too, because Alvin Kamara

(47:06):
is certainly from a data standpoint, has a great matchup
against Atlanta because we all know what Atlanta struggles with
running backs to catch the football. But it's that touchdown
upside that Camara has kind of lacked this year that
can be a bit of an anomaly. Do you think
that gets right today, or do you think they continue
to get down low in there and it becomes the
Latavious Murray show again. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I

(47:26):
think that there's enough for both of them to eat.
I think it seems like a like a great day
for for both of them to be able to Uh,
you know, it's like, get if both of them scored
two touchdowns today, it would not be the most surprising
outcome of the day. Probably, all right, So let's move
on to some big picture fantasy stuff here because we
are kind of basically at the end of the regular season.

(47:47):
We got the playoffs waiting for most of us in
weeks fourteen, fifteen, and sixteen. So, Jim, obviously the last
two years have pretty much been dominated by Christian McCaffrey.
I mean, he has just been all world last two years.
I'm curious this incredible pace he's on. Yet again, do
you think, Jim, that this is something he can sustain
for another couple of years? Like, if you're a Dynasty
Keeper League owner of Christian McCaffrey, how many years are

(48:10):
you willing to go in with this volume before you
start to get a little concerned that it starts to
take its toll on him. Well, I think he's got
a couple more years. But if I'm a dynasty owner, now,
you know, I'm looking at getting another really good year
out of him next year, and then once that happens,
at the trade deadline next year, I might put it
out there and see what I can get in return
for him. If I can get a really good package

(48:32):
for him at that point, I take the chance. Look,
he's doing great, There's no doubt about it. He's the
best running back in football right now, bar none easily.
But the problem is, we know how long good running
backs can last in this league. There's some that can
last a long time, like Frank Gore, but there's others
that don't, like Terrell davis Um. And you know, it's
a really tough situation. But if he's having another great

(48:54):
year like this next year, I might be looking at
moving him at that point if I can get a
great package form of a bunch of good young players
and maybe a couple of draft picks. Would you be
in that same vein here, Davis? Would you be looking
to possibly sell next year at the high point, or
maybe even in the off season the following year in
the Dynasty League to kind of maximize that return, knowing
that eventually this volume, whether it be Eric Dickerson, whether

(49:17):
it be Marshall Falk, whatever it is, eventually some of
this volume catches up with these guys. So it kind
of depends on the context of my roster. My roster
was good, like like, you know, I'm in first or
second of my league, and you know, most weeks I
go in being a favorite, but I don't have a
super team. I probably would sell them. You know, if
I have Lamar Jackson and Michael Thomas and Christian McCaffrey

(49:39):
and Travis Kelsey, you know, a guy just I just
