Speaker 1 (00:02):
Why don't you sit there? You're gonna sit there?

Speaker 2 (00:04):
You want me here, Well, you told me sit here.

Speaker 1 (00:05):
We'll do Don, Matt, my Mom will do, Vicky, Judy, Kelly.
I'll sit across from Don and Jeff here.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
All right, that work?

Speaker 1 (00:13):
I got Kioty. I'll bring a bottle of out beck.
I was thinking about a little something I wanted to say.
Everybody here knows that I went through an unfortunate situation
back in twenty twelve, mistake something I chose to do.
But everybody that's here helped me get through it. And
I know there's a lot going on everybody's lives.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Right.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
It'll be a grandmother tomorrow again. But just so you
guys know, I know it takes a lot of time
and effort to get up here, and I appreciate everybody
being here for me. I appreciate Rob. I send you
a bill, Yeah, I'll rip it up and throw in
a dumpstairs. But I do appreciate everybody being here today.
It does mean a lot to me. You know, we
had a long week. My mom, Don Rob came to

(00:54):
the city and they opened up. They told some stories,
and we wanted to finalize the week here with the
dinner and the people that, quite honestly, I care the
most about, and I really want to thank all of
you for being here. We'll eat some food and let's
have some fun.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
From iHeartRadio and Doghouse Pictures. This is Shock Incarceration. I'm
Jeff Keating. We thought it would be a great idea

(01:42):
to gather Mark's family and two of his best friends,
Rob Caniebel and Matt Woods at their successful restaurant that
Mark and Rob own in Florida, New York, to enjoy
an Italian dinner together. Between selections of fried calamari and
chicken parmesan, red wine flowed from bottle to glass, and
everyone got a chance to reflect and share their recollections

(02:04):
of Mark's journey. I appreciate everybody being so polite and
waiting your turn, and sometimes that'll happen.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
But I know I've been to Italian.

Speaker 5 (02:13):
Family dinners before, So please talk over each other, or interrupt,
or do whatever it is you normally do, or fight
or be kind to one novel.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
So, as with any reunion, stories from the past will
be retold, as if for the very first time. Mark's
childhood pal Matt Woods recalls the trouble he and the
Lombardo boys would get into when they grew up together
in Oakland, New Jersey.

Speaker 6 (02:37):
And I think we had a I got wingador all
like a shot book.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
And this was in the evening.

Speaker 7 (02:45):
And I don't know if you were home.

Speaker 6 (02:47):
And we does or are launching these things at houses?

Speaker 7 (02:52):
Yeah, I think we used to be yours and we.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
Grab yeah it was mine.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Yeah, and then now I.

Speaker 7 (02:56):
Think we hit something.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
It was a window, Cramer's house or house.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
They're like, oh, ship, how far would it go?

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Was going pretty far? I mean in the field, not
quite but close. I mean to know better, how far
would it go? That would go more than a football field? Okay?
I think, yeah, you hold it like eighty miles an hour? Yeah,
lean back, So were you a holder or did you
load it?

Speaker 4 (03:21):
Okay, you did something.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
It's definitely there.

Speaker 6 (03:23):
Yeah, heard something.

Speaker 7 (03:26):
Here's some rustling, like something's pissed off.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
It's like shit, let's.

Speaker 7 (03:31):
Go in the house, shut the lights off.

Speaker 6 (03:34):
And then he's like, you know what, I grab some
orange juice and throw it on the house.

Speaker 7 (03:39):
That make it seem like someone hit us, right, turn off?

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Absolutely all right?

Speaker 7 (03:46):
What's going on?

Speaker 8 (03:47):
Over?

Speaker 2 (03:48):
The cops?

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Now they got that they hit the house that's got
orange peels coming down there, dutters, But it was genius.

Speaker 7 (03:56):
I'm like, that's a great idea. In eighth grade seven,
I'm like, I don't know if they bought it.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
I came out. I was like, look, they got us too.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
In the enthusiasm of telling this story, Mark accidentally knocks
over a glass of wine into his sister Vicky's lap.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
Oh my god, I just trashed your dress. Oh my god.
All right, that's it.

Speaker 9 (04:20):
That's all right, ship, that's all right, that's all right.
Let me just back it up.

Speaker 7 (04:26):
Oh my god, that's right.

Speaker 8 (04:28):
Let me just I'll just go on a lot of.

Speaker 10 (04:35):
That.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
With Vicky now rejoining the dinner, Mark's sister, Judy, recalls
her memories of Mark's arrest and the events that followed.

Speaker 11 (04:45):
When we talk about the whole background and what happened,
I just feel like it was a poor decision because
you can talk to all of us and get gather
as much information, and it just was like everybody loved him,
great life, great uppring and everything. And then you know
what you're you're trying to to accomplish one goal, and
you make a decision that you think is going to

(05:06):
get you there, and now you took a hard left
that's changing your life forever.

Speaker 9 (05:12):
It was earth shattering for all of us. Really, it
was big.

Speaker 5 (05:17):
Tell me about the first time you hear that markets busted.

Speaker 9 (05:20):
I was at my house in Ramsey.

Speaker 11 (05:23):
He came to us, and I'm not even sure how
much of the family.

Speaker 9 (05:27):
Knew yet.

Speaker 11 (05:28):
So he came to me and my husband Peter and
told us what had happened, and you know, we totally
understood what had happened with him. And he was so frightened,
so distraught, and had even said they've offered me plea deals.
But the type of things they asked me, they asked me,
where's the heroin coming from?

Speaker 9 (05:49):
And he was like, I don't even know what heroin
looks like.

Speaker 11 (05:53):
If somebody was trying to sell me heroin, I don't
know what it looks like. They're trying to offer him
a plea deal, Like, tell us about this, Like, I
can't tell you about it. I don't even know what
it looks like. What about guns? Where are guns coming
in from? He's like, guns, I know nothing about guns.
It was a genuine case of an opportunity that someone
offered him. To this day, I don't know who said

(06:14):
to you do this, go sell this, It'll work out.
He did that totally unknowingly became part of what was
a much larger Yeah, my husband and I were both,
of course, just shocked, and he's just trying to talk through,
like what should I do. At one point you even

(06:36):
said to us, should I try and leave? And Peter
and I were both like, you can't, Like, well, you
won't be able to you will never be able to
connect with any of us ever. Again, that's just how
desperate and frantic you could not believe the situation you
had ended up in. You know, like, that's how much

(06:58):
you didn't when you took that risk. That's how much
you didn't really weigh the risk of what it was.
So you were like should I do this? Should I
do that?

Speaker 1 (07:07):
And I went to Peter for a lot of advice
over the years, you know, multiple situations. He was a
fantastic he was, he was a brilliant man. He was
he was very smart. You met him, I obviously respected
and valued his opinion.

Speaker 9 (07:22):
But yeah, and the bottom line was that broke our heart.

Speaker 8 (07:25):
Spoke.

Speaker 11 (07:25):
The only thing you can do right now is fat
the music. Yeah, that's exactly, and we'll get you through it.
Everyone will get you through it. That's all you can do.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
It was the hardest fucking thing I think I ever
had to deal with, not only everybody, but of course
your mother. And I'm sorry for that. Mom, I'm so
sorry I had to put you through that because you
don't deserve it. You didn't deserve that. But that was tough.
That was very tough. So the hardest person was certainly

(07:55):
my mother for sure, and quite honestly, that right there,
what she said is what everybody here said. I did
know deep down inside that you know what, all right,
I have support, you know, face the music. We'll get
you through this. Whether it was my mother, you guys, Rob,

(08:16):
I mean, Matt and Don and anybody. If I called
anybody tomorrow and said hey, I need a favor, I'd
get it, and it wasn't a question. It would happen.
So I think after we did analyze the different options,
you know, San Diego wasn't that great.

Speaker 12 (08:32):
You know.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
Matt Woods, who was Mark's roommate when everything went Downhill,
shares a story about a weird phone call that he
got from one of Mark's bar buddies.

Speaker 4 (08:59):
Where were you when you heard the news. So you
get a call from a friend, just.

Speaker 7 (09:02):
Marking one of his friends, what's his name.

Speaker 3 (09:07):
According to Mark's recollection, Billy got arrested and didn't tell Mark.
With the way things went down, Mark suspected that Billy
had bark delivered the ounce of cocaine to the undercover
Dah and J and that was the night he got busted.
Mark never told his family what really happened, and so

(09:27):
it was like they were hearing it for the first
time at this dinner Billy.

Speaker 6 (09:31):
And he called me, which he's never has and he
was like, God, did.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
You hear it?

Speaker 13 (09:36):
All?

Speaker 14 (09:36):
Him?

Speaker 2 (09:36):
Like hear what? He turned Mark in?

Speaker 7 (09:38):
There was some nice said, there was some bust. There's
something happened last night.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
That's a guilty man right there.

Speaker 6 (09:46):
Like he's never called me before. I was like, oh,
I was a concerned friend. I have no idea what
And then I know, like it was the night before,
two nights before. Mark got a couple people over and
there were hawk in the dining room. I'm watching TV
oblivious to what's going on, Like I don't even know

(10:07):
their names.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Do you remember the names it was over?

Speaker 7 (10:11):
Do you remember that night?

Speaker 4 (10:12):
A couple of nights, maybe before before you go into.

Speaker 7 (10:15):
I got yeah, or before everything was going down.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
Was Billy There was probably Billy, he was there, Billy
probably Greg.

Speaker 4 (10:21):
Would he have met j Steve? Billy J was mad
have met Ja or Amen?

Speaker 2 (10:28):
Jay?

Speaker 1 (10:30):
I don't know if you ever met I was gonna
ask are these your friends? Or were these people Bills
Steve Greg? These are people from him three ball.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
And that we hung out on consistent basic Jaz undercover cop.

Speaker 15 (10:43):
Just to let everybody know that basically was involved with
the sting and stuff they came to kind of one
time and basically was as part of this thing trying
to befriend Mark and you know.

Speaker 9 (10:54):
Yeah, I never knew that.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
I never knew that that was anything came down.

Speaker 4 (11:02):
How long is he hanging out?

Speaker 7 (11:04):
How long was he hanging out with you?

Speaker 4 (11:05):
For probably a few months, a couple of months.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
It really wasn't a long time. No, No, it was
a short time. Short time. There was at least two
months though he was showing up at the bar, showing
up at the bar. He came in, you know one
day and was watching us play. Well, this is a
religious Thursday three ball. You know, you did your thing
and you did your thing and he you know, got

(11:31):
into the scene and obviously knew him no ever. And
that's what we talked about. It said, what a fun
That's a red flag right there. I've never seen the.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
Guy, Marcus already said, and he's asked me for an
own so many times.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
Red flag, you would think, But there was You're not
you're partying, you're messing around, you're greedy, you're looking for money. Yeah,
no problem, I'll get you. Yeah, sure, whatever you want,
no problem.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
Before Mark got into shock incarceration, his health was really struggling.
He remembers one bizarre night where they actually took him
out of the shock facility for some testing and the
hopes that he would be able to maintain his place
in the program.

Speaker 4 (12:12):
Here's Judy.

Speaker 11 (12:14):
The other thing I remember about Shock that was like
that we were all very much hoping that they would
accept you into the shock program, because wasn't it a
situation where it was designed more for very young kids,
you know, like younger than your age group, So you

(12:34):
weren't sure if they were even going.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
To allow you to do this shock for forty year.
It was the diabetes on the top of it, sleep
afte was my biggest story.

Speaker 4 (12:48):
You guys ever heard this?

Speaker 2 (12:50):
I want to kill you in that placed well in jail,
but you one of the best.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
Did you know that he went away for a sleep
apne test during shock.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
Before I went into the full blown program. Yeah.

Speaker 10 (13:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
They had to send me to a sleep afien and
I told you have this story. I said, it was unbelievable.
I'm like here, I am like a handcuffed in by
two correctional officers into this sleep study. You walk into
the door. It's like a doctor's office, like a doctor
walking is an eighty year old elder, you know, esther
sitting over here in a ninety year old Henry and

(13:26):
they're waiting to get called in here. I come in
State Green, twelve A four nine oh six. I'm a
state number. I mean, that's all I am. And you
wouldn't number twelve A four nine six. I'll never forget that.

Speaker 4 (13:38):
Every time that's twelve four got a more tattoo more. Yeah, yeah,
I heard that story.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
He didn't show me. And he's good.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
Because he drew.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
I know he did.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
I told him cover.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
I didn't.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
I told him that story, but I will tell you
though it was it was a horrible feeling walking into
that sleep study, and just the way I remember the
way these people looked at you. They knew, My god,
this prisoner, I don't know. I could be rapist, a murderer,
you know, whatever the case you may. And what did
I tell you? That was the best fucking night of

(14:16):
sleep I had in prison. I had my own king bed,
I had a flat screat oxygen, I had my own bathroom. Fantastic,
Oh my god, honest sleep right here, Okay, no, honestly,
it was the best night of sleep I had in
the year. It was unbelievable, and I got to listen

(14:37):
to music for the first time in a long time,
you know.

Speaker 3 (14:41):
On the ride there and back, all of the guests
at the family dinner recalled what it was like visiting
Mark while he was in the Lakeview Shock Incarceration Facility
in Brockton, New York.

Speaker 4 (14:52):
When was the first time that you visited him?

Speaker 7 (14:54):
That a couple times? Then you went to what state
or county?

Speaker 2 (14:59):
State?

Speaker 1 (14:59):
And then shot, yeah, county, very.

Speaker 7 (15:03):
Sterile, like no color, like a cafeteria style. I remember,
like you couldn't touch, I was, couldn't embrace, Yeah, no hugging.

Speaker 4 (15:17):
That your first time visiting someone in prison.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, the way.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
You know, criminal.

Speaker 11 (15:27):
But I think that speaks to the fact of who
Mark is and where he grew up and everything about him.

Speaker 9 (15:32):
Like for all of us, and this is an experience,
was that, you know, that was the.

Speaker 6 (15:36):
First for you know, You're looking around and it's different
people and there's kids seeing their parents.

Speaker 7 (15:44):
And you're like, what that world?

Speaker 8 (15:48):
That really got me? Yeah?

Speaker 7 (15:49):
Yeah, oh and then I'm thinking, all right for this
And it was two hours or whatever it was.

Speaker 6 (15:54):
It wasn't like ten minutes. It was an extended time
you can can meet. I remember thaying, get like, all right,
let's just I mean, obviously, here's the obvious. Let's not
dwell on this. Let's just talk like we're hanging out
at the bar or something hard to do. But that
was kind of my mindset, you know, for those ninety

(16:15):
minutes or wherever. It was like, let's try to take
you away from this. In the back of my mind,
I'm knowing you're.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
Going back to that.

Speaker 14 (16:25):
Well that's what that's what we did. That's what we
did out of shock. You just try to have him,
you know, we didn't. All we wanted to do was
talk to you. All we wanted to do was just
go there see you for an afternoon.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
And everyone remembered what Mark wanted to eat as his
first meal when he graduated from shock.

Speaker 12 (16:45):
When he got out, you wanted the biggest hamburger you
get out a milkshit.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
Love hamburgers. Every time we got a jail, you loved hamburgers.

Speaker 4 (16:54):
And before going to jail, Ye, how.

Speaker 1 (16:57):
Much did you weigh when you left one f Oh.

Speaker 9 (17:00):
My god, yeah, I remember Casey and I driving up
to see you.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
I showed I showed Jeff my IDs I had one
going in and going out. I showed him the picture
of the platoon. I mean, yes, you can believe press.
You couldn't believe it. I was too a weight. I
went in, I came out at one to fifty one.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
As the dinner was concluding, we ended with two rounds
of questions from everyone about hope and pride.

Speaker 4 (17:41):
So, first of all, you guys have extended your time.
I appreciate this.

Speaker 5 (17:44):
Let me just wrap up with like one final question
that you can sit on for a second, you can
pass it whatever, But what's your hope for Dave and Mark?

Speaker 2 (17:51):
Don?

Speaker 4 (17:52):
What's your hope for your brothers.

Speaker 14 (17:54):
I don't want anything bad to happen to him. A
long time ago, I should have talked to him. I
know it might not have made a difference, but I
should have talked to them, both of you.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
I should have.

Speaker 14 (18:05):
I should have said something to him. I should have
opened up a conversation and made him understand exactly what
the hell he was doing to everybody and what was
what he was potentially going to do and then did.
And that just makes me crazy.

Speaker 4 (18:25):
But I want.

Speaker 9 (18:28):
I made a difference, I just.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
Know, but it just makes me.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
It constantly makes me crazy. Person exactly.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
You know, I'm saying, you don't want to lose his house.
That's what's the problem with the family.

Speaker 14 (18:42):
I want things to be all right eventually, all right, Mark,
I know I want things to be all right. I
tweeted both of you and for every for everybody before
you get there. I I think something has to happen,
like what he's talking about. I think something has something

(19:02):
drastic has to happen. I know it's going to be
really difficult for him. I hope something like that happens
to ultimately straighten out his life.

Speaker 4 (19:14):
And I guess.

Speaker 14 (19:17):
His life for like his relationship, our relationship with Dave.

Speaker 4 (19:22):
What about you, Matt, What do you hope for them?

Speaker 6 (19:25):
I mean some sort of peace, I guess, like speak
your mind to it. You know, I'm not gonna say confrontation,
but like, speak your peace, make you feel better, Listen,
I don't like confrontation anither irish cat like, we kind
of suppress our feelings, so it's easier said.

Speaker 7 (19:47):
Than done, but it is let them know how you feel.
Like what Donal was saying, it's almost like he gets.

Speaker 6 (19:53):
Away with things like why does everyone else suffer but
they reap their rewards? It just doesn't see riots mare
true to throw it out there, he needs to hear it.

Speaker 4 (20:05):
What about you, Linda?

Speaker 1 (20:06):
Thanks man.

Speaker 8 (20:08):
I've said just about everything I could possibly think. Being
the mother is tough. I'm in the middle of everybody.

Speaker 4 (20:18):
Of course.

Speaker 8 (20:19):
I want nothing more than Dave to be able to
patch things up.

Speaker 12 (20:26):
And get his life going in some kind of direction.
I mean when we go there, which is rarely for
one of the kid's birthdays or whatever, and it's like
there's just not that closeness, you know, and it just
breaks my heart, you know, because we're not like we were.

(20:51):
And I've said so many times to him, you know
how I felt exactly how I felt that I was
totally just draw with how he's handling everything, you know,
And I said to him, I said, you're taking advantage
of me because I'm your mother.

Speaker 4 (21:08):
What about you, VICKI, what's your hope?

Speaker 10 (21:10):
M I don't know what my hope is, but I
think he should be accountable. Like I don't think that
he should be able to take the money that he
took from my dad and Linda and not have to
at least make some sort of monthly payment to his mother,
like no matter, even if it's just a small amount

(21:33):
every month, but like make.

Speaker 8 (21:37):
Make something like make a.

Speaker 10 (21:39):
Guess ever, make an attempt to like pay back and
say like thank you for me not going to jail
like my brother did.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
I don't know.

Speaker 10 (21:49):
I just he doesn't feel any remorse, or he doesn't
feel that the money that he supposedly borrowed, but he
didn't borrow it, He took.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
It from my father, and.

Speaker 9 (22:05):
Like that just aggravates me.

Speaker 10 (22:08):
It doesn't even.

Speaker 8 (22:09):
Weigh on his mind.

Speaker 4 (22:11):
What's your hope?

Speaker 9 (22:14):
I mean, honestly, what.

Speaker 11 (22:16):
I would probably like to see happen, But I'm not
going to be the one to initiate it. I feel
like none of us have ever, including Don saying that
he feels such remorse that he never went to Dave
and said like, this is wrong what you did. I
never did, I've never addressed it with him. I don't
think it's going to be possible that he's going to

(22:38):
make financial restitution the way he should. But I think
in terms of us as a family, and again I
don't picture it happening. I don't think any of us
really hesitant us anymore to call for it to happen.
But I think it would be nice for everyone to
be able to sit down with him and be like,
you know what, this really sucks, This really hurt, This

(23:04):
really hurt. What you did was extremely painful and continues
to be painful. And the ripple effects, the butterfly effect
of what you did.

Speaker 3 (23:15):
Mark shared his final thoughts as the family expressed their
feelings towards him after this long journey.

Speaker 1 (23:22):
Well, what we're going to try to do is ultimately
create a feel good story.

Speaker 8 (23:26):
Right.

Speaker 1 (23:27):
Ultimately, you have to hit rock bottom before you realize
where you can move. And the best thing about it is.

Speaker 4 (23:34):
You can only go up.

Speaker 1 (23:37):
This I had I hate to say this, but I'm
happy to say is this is the most time I've
ever sat with my mother and my sisters and my
brother at one table and probably the last five years.

Speaker 14 (23:47):
It really is.

Speaker 1 (23:48):
Is that a fact? That's a fact. And you know what,
I was sitting here as you're asking questions, Chef, and
you're going around, and I'm looking at Judy, I'm looking
at like my mom, looking on Jesus Christ.

Speaker 4 (23:59):
We have been missing a while.

Speaker 1 (24:01):
And you know what, it's a good feeling. Yeah, it's
a good fucking feeling.

Speaker 4 (24:05):
It's very courageous.

Speaker 5 (24:06):
I know it's hard, but just to be able to
open up about your feelings and to be able to
talk about family, but it could be cathartic and it
can also start to at least touch on some things
that you've been thinking about or feeling about for years
that are important to say.

Speaker 4 (24:23):
So let's end on what are you most proud about about? Mark?
Oh boy?

Speaker 8 (24:28):
Oh wow?

Speaker 1 (24:29):
So to morrow out?

Speaker 3 (24:32):
Yeah that's okay, Well good, Let's end on pride.

Speaker 11 (24:35):
I've never wanted anything more than for you because I
knew that you always just like deserved the best and
deserved all the happiness, and you know it was not
a straight line for you for sure, and it's just
like you know, yeah, you know, like it's just I mean,

(24:55):
I'm proud of where he is today, and I'm proud
that he has all of these people that we are,
all that we're this is where we want to be
sitting by him, and and that he you know, he's
a he's a great brother. Some you know, like you
you've always given my dad a lot of credit for
being a great stepdad.

Speaker 4 (25:15):
What about you, Vicky, what are you most proud of?

Speaker 10 (25:17):
I'm thankful to Rob for getting him going, you know, like, and.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
He did get me going.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
He did that man right there, got me going. If
it wasn't for him, I would not be sitting.

Speaker 2 (25:28):
Here right now. We only need the kicking ass once
in a while.

Speaker 1 (25:31):
The only thing is you got a lot of weight
behind that kick.

Speaker 13 (25:33):
That's right, That's why you went straight in arrow. No,
I feel like not skinny like when he came out.

Speaker 10 (25:40):
People not a lot of people would have done what
you did for him.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
He's a good man, though, you know that's that's.

Speaker 4 (25:49):
Kind of like he acted like a brother my father.

Speaker 1 (25:52):
I look at his aid more than that, he's more
than that.

Speaker 4 (25:59):
What about you? Would you most proud of yourself?

Speaker 8 (26:01):
Oh, I'll never get through it. No, I'm extremely proud.

Speaker 1 (26:07):
That'll be season two. I'll say that for a season.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
Dude.

Speaker 4 (26:11):
What about you? What about your friends?

Speaker 2 (26:12):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (26:12):
Wow, Mom, did you want to say anything?

Speaker 14 (26:15):
Or no?

Speaker 1 (26:16):
I don't want to put you in a spot, get it.
I don't want you to if you don't want.

Speaker 5 (26:19):
To get talked a little bit about Yeah, okay, about you?

Speaker 16 (26:21):
Man?

Speaker 7 (26:22):
Obviously someone who's extremely loyal. I've known him probably.

Speaker 4 (26:28):
Thirty five, forty years.

Speaker 1 (26:30):
Forty we can go forty now, forty your long time,
forty years.

Speaker 7 (26:33):
I mean not many people can say they've been friends
with someone for forty years.

Speaker 9 (26:37):
Yeah, it's a long time.

Speaker 7 (26:41):
You know, go home whenever I.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
Want, got my back.

Speaker 2 (26:44):
It's been there for me. I'm working.

Speaker 7 (26:48):
You want lucky?

Speaker 4 (26:51):
Thanks man? What about you done? What are you proud of?

Speaker 14 (26:54):
Well, I guess I'm proud of where you got of
all that. I mean, everybody set it around the table already.
But I mean I remember, uh seeing you for the
first time on Mom's bed when they brought you home
from the hospital, and like I can see the white,

(27:21):
like I can see the course looked like Winston Churchill.
I always knew that you were going to be some
kind of success. I didn't know what it was. I mean,
whether it was the way you played soccer and now.

Speaker 4 (27:42):
I always knew that you'd get there.

Speaker 14 (27:44):
And after all the ship that you've waded through over
this past decade, I think you did it the right way.

Speaker 4 (27:54):
That's the most important part. You didn't.

Speaker 14 (27:57):
You didn't screw up again. You just kept your nose
down and you did what you needed to do to
get to this point.

Speaker 4 (28:03):
So good for you. What about you, Rob? What are
you proud of your boy? For?

Speaker 2 (28:08):
Well? I would say.

Speaker 13 (28:10):
That in life, whether whatever hardship comes in front of it,
nine to ten people fold and it can't make it through.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
He made it through. He did. Too many people, would it.

Speaker 1 (28:38):
I gotta tell you, if you don't mind, maybe on
a final note, I have to be honest and say that.
And we talked about this, but maybe I've talked about
it with you, mom. And the Shot program program was
the best thing that happened to me. And I was
lucky enough to be in this position where I could

(28:58):
be underage as a first time offender and qualified for
the Chalk program. I really from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you very much for everybody coming up and spending
some time here and to do this recording. It really
meant a lot to me. They really made me bring
out a lot of the things that I was telling
you before that I may have forgotten about. These gentlemen

(29:20):
over here. They read every single letter and they were
questioned me on these things, and I'm like, oh shit,
I forgot about that. Oh yeah, let me tell you
the story. And it really brought me out, It really did,
and it was something that I've always wanted to bring out.
I always wanted to just kind of open up.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
With and share.

Speaker 1 (29:37):
And I have to tell you, you guys were nothing
but accommodating, and it made me feel comfortable. You know,
damn well that I was a little hesitant when I
sat in there. I was a ow errand I got Jeff,
you made me feel very comfortable right from the get go,
and I thank you for everything that we've gone through
so far, and let's see where this goes.
