Speaker 1 (00:03):
I'm Bishop T. D. Jakes, inviting you to unwine your
mind and spirit with Tonight's sleep Song. In my distress,
I cried to the Lord. He answered me Psalm one
twenty verse one. Dear God, keep my heart far from

(00:29):
lies and hedge me in tonight by your mercy and grace.
When the corruption of culture corners me and tempts me
to compromise, rescue me swiftly. I pray not only for
rest from the weariness, but also for my spirit. The

(00:54):
longer I go without nourishment from You, the more susceptible
I am to temptation. Rejuvenate me tonight and give me
the power to thwart the lies of the enemy. May

(01:15):
tonight replenish my soul and conditioning for combating the kingdom
of darkness. I want to be equipped in every way
to battle boldly Tomorrow. Strengthen me tonight in you and

(01:38):
you alone. In Jesus' name, Amen, thank you for praying
with me. I'm Bishop TD Jakes, inviting you to unwind
your mind and spirit with Tonight's sleep Song. Prepare your

(02:02):
heart for this devotional from the Book of Psalms, guiding
you into a RESTful embrace under his watchful eyes. Thank

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Hello, I'm Grace. For tonight's Sleep Song by pray dot Com.
We will be meditating on Psalm. Get in a comfortable position.
Breathe in and out slowly. Relax your neck and shoulders.
Rest your hands gently by your side or on your lap.

(03:08):
Open your mind and heart to hear God's word to night.
Allow his voice to speak life into you and his
truth to comfort you as you prepare for rest. Take
a deep breath. Cast all your anxiety from to day
upon the Lord. Exhale slowly and release the tension in

(03:30):
your body and let go of your anxious thoughts. Take
a few more deep breaths. Focus on your heart rate
as you inhale and exhale. Take longer deeper breaths to
slow down your heart and put you in a relaxed

(03:50):
state of mind. Breathe in and out slowly. Feel your
heart settle, your mind calm, and your body soften. Close
your eyes and surrender to the Lord. Prepare to receive
his word. It can be difficult to navigate this world

(04:12):
as a faithful follower of Jesus, but to Night's psalm
reminds us we can find rest in a foreign land
by calling upon the Lord and seeking his help. Psalm
one hundred twenty from the King James's version says, in
my distress, I cried unto the Lord, and he heard me.

(04:34):
Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips and from
a deceitful tongue. What shall be given unto thee, or
what shall be done unto thee? Thou false tongue, sharp
arrows of the Mighty with coals of juniper. Woe is
me that I sojourn in messeig, that I dwell in
the tents of Kadar. My soul hath long dwelt with

(04:57):
him that hateth peace. A I am for peace, but
when I speak, they are for war. No matter where
you are tonight, know you are not alone, For God
is always with you. Know he is ready to listen
to you, to help you and to guide you. Know

(05:19):
you do not have to navigate this world alone. Close
your eyes and listen to His still small voice, and
find rest for your soul. Take a deep breath. Lift
up your concerns to the Lord. Lift up any hurt
and anger your feeling. Exhale slowly and allow God to

(05:45):
take your concerns and your hurt and anger in his
hands and administer his justice and mercy. Know the truth
is not hidden from the Lord, and He will intervene
on your behalf your trust in Him and rest in
his peace. Confess any times when you use your words

(06:07):
to hurt or slander others. Confess any envy or jealousy
that is in your heart. Ask God for his forgiveness.
Ask God to help you use your words to love
and encourage others. Take a deep breath. Imagine building others
up with your words. Speak those words over yourself tonight.

(06:33):
Exhale slowly and release any guilt and shame, and allow
those spoken words to fill your heart with hope and joy.
Think of a time when someone hurt you with their
words or spread a rumor about you, but God intervened
and made things right. Praise the Lord for restoring your

(06:56):
reputation and healing your wounds. Pray the Lord for comforting
you during this difficult time. Praise the Lord for his
love that never fails you and for his peace that
brings you through challenging circumstances. Think of a person who
has been slandered and humiliated. Pray God will restore their

(07:19):
reputation and reveal the truth to others. Pray God will
comfort them with his love and peace. Tonight, call on
the Lord in your distress, and He will hear you
and answer you. He will help you overcome your struggles,
and He will help you through your troubles. Pray God

(07:43):
will help those living in foreign lands or in lands
where there is war. Pray God will protect them and
sustain them throughout the day and night. Pray God will
help you navigate the tension of being in this world
without being of this world. Pray He will guard your

(08:03):
heart and mind and find comfort in His truth. Pray
God will help you live peacefully with others. Pray God
will fill you with his peace and help you find
rest in uncertain times. Breathe in and out slowly, close

(08:24):
your eyes, and relax your body. With your next exhale.
Release any tension that is still lingering from today. Calm
your mind by listening to the tender whispers of love
that speak to your heart, and consume the lies you
have been told, breathe in and out slowly. Allow God's

(08:50):
love and peace to wash over you and comfort you
as you sleep tonight.
