Speaker 2 (02:35):
Hello, I'm grace for tonight's sleep psalm by pray dot com.
We will be meditating on Psalm sixty eight. Begin by
taking deep breaths inhale and exhale slowly through your nose.
Close your eyes and focus on relaxing your body and
(02:57):
settling your heart with each deep breath. With your next inhale,
slowly breathe in through your nose. When your stomach fully expands,
hold that breath for a few seconds. Allow the air
to flow from your lungs into your abdomen. Exhale slowly
(03:18):
through your nose. Feel your stomach fall, feel your heart
rates slow down, feel your body soften. Open your eyes
and focus on a specific area of the wall or
of the ceiling. As you fix your eyes on a
focal point in your space, breathe in and out slowly.
(03:43):
Clear your mind of any distractions with your next exhale.
Surrender any anxious thoughts to God. Know he is capable
of bearing your burdens every day. Just lift them to
Him and find rest As your mind calms. Focus your
(04:04):
thoughts on God. Meditate on his goodness, on his faithfulness.
Think of all the wonderful things he has done. Prepare
your heart to receive God's word by asking him to
speak to you through tonight's psalm. Listen for his still
small voice that speaks life and love into your mind, body,
(04:30):
and soul. The Bible reminds us of the ways God
has used his power and strength to rescue, redeem, and
restore his people. Tonight we can find comfort in the
power and strength of the Lord, knowing we can rest
safely and securely in his mighty hands. Psalm sixty eight
(04:53):
from the King James version says, let God arise, Let
his enemies be scattered. Them also that hate him flee
before him as smoke is driven away. So drive them away,
as wax melteth before the fire. So let the wicked
perish at the presence of God. But let the righteous
(05:14):
be glad. Let them rejoice before God. Yea, let them
exceedingly rejoice, sing unto God, sing praises to his name.
Extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name Jah,
and rejoice before him. A father of the fatherless, and
a judge of the widows. Is God. In his holy habitation.
(05:39):
God setteth the solitary in families. He bringeth out those
which are bound with chains. But the rebellious dwell in
a dry land, O God. When thou wentest forth before
thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness Seillah,
the earth shook. The heavens also dropped at the present
(06:00):
of God. Even Sinai itself was moved at the presence
of God, the God of Israel. Thou, o God, didst
send a plentiful reign. Whereby thou didst confirmed thine inheritance.
When it was weary, thy congregation hath dwelt therein thou,
O God, hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor.
(06:22):
The Lord gave the word. Great was the company of
those that published it. Kings of armies did flee apace,
and she that tarried at home divided the spoil. Though
ye have lain among the pots, yet shall ye be
as the wings of a dove covered with silver, and
her feathers with yellow gold. When the Almighty scattered kings
(06:45):
in it, it was white as snow and salaam. The
hills of God is as the hills of Bashan and
high hill as the hill of Bashan. Why leap ye
ye high hills. This is the hill which God desireth
to dwell in. Yea, the Lord will dwell in it forever.
(07:05):
The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels.
The Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the
holy place. Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity, captive,
thou hast received gifts for men, yea, for the rebellious, also,
that the Lord God might dwell among them. Blessed be
(07:29):
the Lord who daily loadeth us with benefits. Even the
God of our salvation. Saylah, he that is our God,
is the God of salvation. And unto God, the Lord
belong the issues from death. But God shall wound the
head of his enemies and the hairy scalp of such
an one as goeth on still in his trespasses. The
(07:52):
Lord said, I will bring again from Bashan. I will
bring my people again from the depths of the sea,
that thy foot may be dipped in the blood of
thine enemies and the tongue of thy dogs. In the
same they have seen thy goings o God, even the
goings of my God, my King. In the sanctuary. The
(08:15):
singers went before the players on instruments. Followed after, Among
them were the damsels playing with timbrels. Bless ye God.
In the congregations, even the Lord from the fountain of Israel.
There is little Benjamin with their ruler, the princes of
Judah and their council, the princes of Zebulun, and the
(08:36):
princes of Naftali. Thy God hath commanded thy strength. Strengthen,
o God, that which thou hast wrought for us because
of Thy temple at Jerusalem. Shall kings bring presents unto
thee rebuke the company of the spearmen, the multitude of
the bulls, with the calves of the people, till every
one submit himself with pieces of silver, scatter them Thou,
(09:00):
the people that delight in war. Princes shall come out
of Egypt. Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto God,
sing unto God, Ye kingdoms of the earth, Oh, sing
praises unto the Lord, Sillah, to him that writeth upon
the heavens of heavens which were of old, Lo He
(09:22):
doth sent out his voice, and that a mighty voice,
ascribe ye strength unto God. His excellency is over Israel,
and his strength is in the clouds. O God, thou
art terrible out of thy holy places. The God of
Israel is he that giveth strength and power unto his people.
(09:44):
Blessed be God. God's word reminds us that he never changes.
The same God that brought the Israelites out of Egypt
is the same God that freed us from our sins
on the cross. And he is the same God that
rules over them the nations today and protects and provides
for his people all around the world. We can put
(10:07):
our trust in God and rest in his power and strength. Tonight,
take a deep breath. Imagine God filling you with his
power and strength, helping you overcome the darkness of the night.
Exhale slowly and feel His strength flow throughout your body,
(10:28):
restoring every bone, every muscle, every joint. Breathe in and
out slowly. Find refreshment in the provision God abundantly showers
on his people. Allow his waters to soothe your soul
and rejuvenate your body. Breathe in his peace. Breathe out
(10:52):
any stress and tension in your muscles, relax your neck
and shoulders, close your eyes, and visualize God as the
sovereign king that has compassion on his people, that reigns
forever and ever. He has been with his people since
the beginning of time, and he will be with you
(11:15):
until the end of time. Hear his thunderous voice scatter
the darkness that surrounds you. Know he has saved you
from your sin and shame, from the enemy, and from death.
With your next exhale, breathe out your fears and worries.
Find comfort in his powerful presence as you prepare for sleep.
(11:40):
Acknowledge your sins before the Lord. Ask for his forgiveness.
Confess any doubts you have concerning God's power and strength.
Ask him to help you with your unbelief. Take a
deep breath. Allow God's grace and love to fill your
heart with joy. Know his salvation redeems you and restores you.
(12:05):
With your next exhale, release any guilt and shame your
carrying with you tonight. Rejoice in the name of the Lord.
Praise him for his salvation. Thank him for the ways
he has provided for you. Thank him for the times
he has protected you. Think of someone who is in
(12:26):
a vulnerable position and needs God's protection and provision. Pray
God will keep them safe through the night. Pray he
will meet their needs tomorrow. Ask Him what you can
do to help them this week. Lay your requests before
the Lord. Cast all your anxieties on him. Know he
(12:49):
will provide what you need every day. Know he is
always faithful to his children. Pray God will help you
be generous with your resources. Pray you will fill your
heart with compassion for the fatherless and the widow, for
the vulnerable and the oppressed. Pray God will deliver you
(13:10):
from evil. Pray he will lead you to a safe,
secure path where you can find rest. Pray God will
protect you as you sleep. Pray for protection for your family, friends,
and neighbors. Take a deep breath as you exhale, release
(13:33):
any tension and stress that is still lingering from to day.
Rest in the powerful presence of the Lord. Allow his
provision to refresh your mind and body. Allow his protection
to keep you warm and secure through the night. Three
