Our first real episodes on the internet were me trying to find a solution to help tell my sons stories as I was traveling for work. Hello, friends, Welcome to Biology Squad. We are a team
of spies who specialize in science. You see doctor Stinky
Breath in the Purple Ninjas are trying to take over
the world through science, and it is up to us
to stop them before.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
It is too late.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Hey, Jaden, after we get our stuff out of our lockers,
do you want to go work on the tree project outside? Yeah?
I think it's a nice day today, said Jaden. That
sounds perfect. Ava and Jaden had just finished with their
school day and they had been assigned this tree project,
which they were looking forward to doing. It was where

(00:52):
they had to collect a whole bunch of leaves of
different tree species and work together to actually give a
presentation to the class on all the trees that they discovered.
They were both a little nervous about giving a big
presentation to their class, but they felt better knowing that
they were gonna be able to do it together. Hey, Ava,

(01:13):
why don't we head back over to HQ That forced
behind there. I think has like a ton of trees
that could be really cool for us to do some
research on. I'm always down to head over to HQ,
said Ava. Let's go, Jaden and Ava walked towards HQ.
You know, sometimes they use their jetpack to fly around,
but other times, you know, it's just good to go

(01:35):
for a nice walk on a perfect day. As they
arrived at HQ, Jaden walked around to the back of
HQ to start collecting all the leaves that he could find.
Ava went inside to start working on the actual research
side and the presentation part. All right, Jaden, I'll be inside.

(01:56):
I can't wait to see all the leaves that you
find out there. Good luck, waved Jaden as he ran
into the forest. Meanwhile, up in the sky, in that
stinky blimp lab, the Purple Ninjas were working on something
that would quickly get way out of their control. Uhhh you, Oh,

(02:19):
I'm sorry, Purple Nina.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
Feeling a little sick today. What are you working on?

Speaker 3 (02:27):
Remember when we tried turning everyone's skin purple?

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Of course I do, but that didn't work. Oh why
do we care about the plans that didn't work anymore?

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Well, we've been thinking that the idea of turning everything
purple is a good idea. Uh, it was just the
execution that we missed the mark on a little bit.
So we came up with a better plan. Check out
this color blaster.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
The purple Ninjas handed Doctor Stinky Breath something that looked
kind of like a megaphone that you talk into to
make your voice really loud. But they called it a
color changer.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Okay, and how does it work?

Speaker 3 (03:12):
It's Easyah, You so like the color that you want
to change something, and then press this button here?

Speaker 1 (03:20):
So you mean to tell me that if I just
say I want to turn that black thing over there
into purple, it will do it exactly.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Boss.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
Wow, that is amazing. How did you figure out the
color changing part?

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Chameleon jeans?

Speaker 2 (03:40):
That is eh? Hey, that is genius.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
Eh, Boss, I think you need a tissue here. Buggers
are all over me. Maybe I need a tissue.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
Meanwhile, back on the ground, Jaden had filled his bag
with a ton of different leaves that he had found
throughout the forest. He was bringing them inside to show Ava.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Ava.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Check out what I found. Holy smokes, Jade, And that's
a ton of leaves. Are they all like different species? Uh?
I'm not sure, said Jaden. I think I think I
might have gotten a couple of the same trees, but
I'm pretty sure I got a ton of different ones.
How's everything going on your end, asked Jaden. I think

(04:33):
you'll be happy with it. Come over here, said Ava
as she brought him around the corner to where her
whole display was. No. Way, Wow, this is so much
better than I could have done, said Jaden. You're amazing
at this. Look at the Wow you see. Ava had

(04:53):
built this amazing display of some really big poster boards
with a ton of inform on there, Like over there
it says there's sixty thousand trees in the world. That's
pretty insane. But there were several other poster boards as well,
and Jaden was really happy with how much work Ava

(05:14):
had done. Ava, this is amazing and wow, all this
research on oxygen. How do trees make oxygen, asked Jadon. Well,
according to my research, the leaves have something inside of
them called chloroplasts chlora what, asked Jadon. I'm not done

(05:36):
like learning all about them yet, but there's something about
chloroplasts in the leaves that helps produce the oxygen that
we breathe. Here, give me one of the leaves out
of your bag and let's look at it under the microscope. Yeah,
look at this, jadon. Ava motioned for Jaden to come
over and look at the microscope. As he put his
eyes on there, he said, Wow, are the those bright

(06:00):
green things? Yeah, said Ava. That's what gives the leaves
their colors, those green chloroplasts. Whoa, said Jaden. I can
see their little cells working so hard. There's stuff like
moving around in there a ton. Have you ever looked
inside of a microscope before? They're pretty amazing that you

(06:23):
can see something really really small, but it looks a
lot bigger under a microscope. And so if you look
at a leaf underneath a microscope, you can see all
the cells working together for that leaf. It's pretty amazing.
And before Ava and Jaden knew it, bee beep, holy smokes,

(06:44):
said Ava. This had already been three hours. Wow, I
totally lost track of time, said Jaden. Those microscopes are
so cool. Uh yeah, I guess it is time to
get home and get home for dinner, said Ava. Yeah. Yeah,
me too. But after school, let's meet back here and
work some more in this project. Sounds like a plan, Jayden,

(07:06):
see you. Meanwhile, up in the Stinky Blimp lab, doctor
Sinky Breath was getting very anxious about seeing this new
project that the Purple Ninjas were working on.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Easy Ready, purple njines. I've been waiting all day.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
Can we give it to.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
The try almost just a couple more turns on the
screwdriver in there.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
It should be perfect now, okay, and tell me again
what do I do with it? I don't know how
to use it.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
Just you know, there's all these different colors that you
could choose from. Pick a color you want to test,
and we could turn it to purple.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Hmm. I don't know what too big?

Speaker 1 (07:49):
I uh ah got you.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
Are your kne boss.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Oh yes, these green burgers they give me good idea.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
Let's turn some purple always vaunted purple burgers.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
Okay, patsah turning green to purple.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
The color changer that they were holding looked like it
was warming up as the lights got brighter and brighter
and brighter, and then all of a sudden.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
Ba ah ah, how.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Too perfect, purple ninjas. I love my purple burgers. After dinner,
Ava was getting ready for bed and also working on
our project a little bit more. Wow, it looks like

(08:52):
we have eighteen species of trees and bushes here already.
And wait a second, what is this one? She pulled
one of the leaves out of her backpack and was
very confused. That's weird. These oak leaves should be green,
but they almost look purple, said Ava. I wonder if

(09:15):
we found a new species, she shouted. She reached for
walkie talkie to call Jaden. Sh Hey, Jaden, when you
found all these leaves behind HQ, were any of them
kind of purplish? Sh Did you say purple?

Speaker 3 (09:32):
No?

Speaker 1 (09:32):
I didn't see any purple trees back there. Sh hmm.
That's weird, said Ava. Well, i'll take a look tomorrow
when the sun's up.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
Kiss.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
I don't know, maybe I'm just seeing things. Sh all right, Ava,
I'll see you at school tomorrow. See yah. Hold on
a second, What in the world is going on? That
just seems really weird that their leaves might be turned
a little bit purply. I'm not quite sure what that
means yet, but we're definitely gonna have to keep a

(10:06):
close eye on those leaves and see what happens on
