Hi! I'm Jim Jacob, a South Carolina based creator. I started as a podcaster by accident. Our first real episodes on the internet were me trying to find a solution to help tell my sons stories as I was traveling for work. I recorded some stories and hoped that by uploading them to a podcast app, my wife and kids could have easy access to listen. Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, friends, Welcome to s Biology Squad. We are a
team of spies who specialize in science. You see Doctor
Stinky Breath in the Purple Ninjas are trying to take
over the world through science, and it is up to
us to stop them before.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
It is too late. On the last episode, we overheard
that the Purple Ninjas and Doctor Stinky Breath we're planning
something absolutely horrible with sunlight. Doesn't exactly make sense how
they're gonna be able to pull this off and turn
the whole world purple, But let's see what happens next.

(00:43):
Jaden and Ava were now racing their bikes towards HQ. Yes,
our spies do get jet packs and they are often
seen zooming throughout the clouds, but nothing beats a great
bike ride. I think those smoothies, though, gave them an
extra boost of energy because they were almost flying when

(01:05):
all of a sudden, Ava came to a screeching halt.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
What are you doing, Ava?

Speaker 2 (01:13):
I'm definitely gonna win now, shouted Jayden. Wait Wait, whoa whoa,
whoa Wait, Jaden, doesn't everything look weird all of a sudden,
said Ava as she was looking around. Oh sorry, I
can't tell said Jaden. These sunglasses I'm wearing make everything
look blue. Hold on a second, let me take him off.

(01:34):
Jaden stopped his bike and took off the sunglasses. WHOA.
I don't know if my eyes are playing tricks on
me or not, but everything looks purplish. Yeah, that's what
I thought too, said Ava. Hmm. I'm not gonna tell
you to look at the sun, but look at the

(01:55):
clouds around it. He definitely looked purple. I think it's
even getting more purpler by the minute. Come on, Jaden,
we all know what purple means. It's gotta be doctor
stinkybreath behind it all. Come on, let's get to HQ
and see if mister Jim knows anything. They got back
on their bikes and zoom to HQ as fast as

(02:16):
they could. As they arrived, they use their access card
to unlock the door at HQ and walk inside. Mister
Jim was sitting at his desk. Hey guys, wait, are
those smoothies and you didn't get me one? Oh sorry
about that, mister Jim, but that's not the worst of

(02:37):
our problems. Right now. Have you looked outside in the
past five minutes? Mister Jim turned around to look out
the windows. WHOA, that's hilarious. Do you guys put something
on the windows? Why does everything outside look purple? No,
it's not us, said Jaden. It's not the windows either.

(02:59):
Come on side. Mister Jim gave a crossed look on
his face and walked outside with Ava and Jaden. It
had now gotten even worse. Everything was now in a deep,
dark purple color. What in the world, said mister Jim

(03:19):
as he looked around. What happened out here? We're not sure,
mister Jim, but this is way worse than the time
doctors think about changed all the green plants purple using
chloroplasts and chromatophores. Remember, but somehow everything is purple. Yeah,
even the clouds. This is crazy. Yeah, crazy is the

(03:43):
right way to describe the situation, shouted Jaden. Look, even
the sunlight has turned purple. How can you change the
sun and light to be completely purple? It doesn't make
any sense. Wait, hold on, last night I was listening
to the Bedtime History podcast with mister Breck. I think

(04:07):
he talked about light in that episode last night about
uh who was it?

Speaker 3 (04:12):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (04:12):
Yeah, Isaac Newton, I love that podcast, shouted Jayden. Oh yeah,
mister Breck is an old friend of mine. He knows
a lot and ava if you think he might be
helpful in figuring us out, we should give him a
call back At doctor Sinky Bread Splimp. The Purple Ninjas
were preparing to go to space for their very first time.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
I don't know about this.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
Come on, Steve, it's gonna be fun. We're gonna be
real astronauts.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Yeah, shap, but I'm afraid of the dark, and it's
it's pretty dark. Had space not at.

Speaker 4 (04:53):
All, Steve. You see and space You're a lot closer
to the Sun, so I'm sure it's plenty bright up there.
You got nothing to worry about. Just help me with
the magna hoop. We have to bring it with us
up to the space plant.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
Okay, but what's the magna hoop for?

Speaker 2 (05:10):
A good ah?

Speaker 4 (05:12):
The boss aren't explained this at our meeting earlier. But
remember that big purple plastic that we have in space
isn't big enough to cover all the sun like that
ranges the Earth. If we want only purple light on Earth,
and we need to make the purple plastic, think a
lot bigger.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
Ooh it, that's that's what the magna hoop does right,
we should bring that up with Steve.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
That's what I said.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Do you remember the magna hoop? Oh yeah, they stole
it from a museum a long time ago. Anything that
you put through the magna hoop gets way bigger. It's
caused a lot of problems for us over the years.

Speaker 5 (05:58):
All right, Piper Ninjas, it's time for you to blast
off to the space blimp. You must finish the job
to cover alls the sunlight with our purple filter. The
world must know that we are in control.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
Back at HQ, they had just gotten mister Breck on
a video call. Hey, mister Bragg, shouted Ava. It's so
great to finally meet you. We love your Bedtime History podcast.
I listen every week. Hey, Ava, thank you so much.
I'm glad you've been able to learn some cool things

(06:38):
about history, said mister Breck. So what were you guys
saying about purple sunlight? The sun looks pretty normal here
in Arizona. Huh, Ava sounded pretty confused. That's a little
confusing because I don't know. Take a look out our window.
Ava brought the computer over to the window so that

(06:59):
mister Breck could look outside. Whoa it looks like you
had a grape juice explosion over there. Yeah, but if
you're saying the sunlight looks normal by you, that means
our current theory is not right, said Ava. We thought
someone painted the sun purple. But if that were true,

(07:20):
you would all be seeing a purple sun. Mister Breck
grabbed onto his chin and thought, for a minute, that's
very strange.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
You see.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
One thing that Isaac Newton discovered was that every color
exists inside our regular white light. If we use something
called a prism, it separates all the colors of regular
white light, which is how those prisms create little rainbows. Oh, Jayden,

(07:51):
remember that smoothie truck with all those prisms. Oh yeah,
So did a doctor's thinking breath use a giant prism
to send only the purple light here?

Speaker 3 (08:00):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (08:01):
Possibly, said mister Breck, But it would be tough to
control all that light with only a prism. An easier
way to make a certain color of light is just
to use a colored filter. Do you happen to have
something that's semi transparent and has a color in it?
They all looked at each other, not sure what to say,

(08:23):
and then Jaden said, oh, wait, my sunglasses are kind
of bluish, perfect, said mister Breck. Grab a flashlight and
shine it through the glasses. Part Jaden ran over and
grabbed a flashlight and shone it through his sunglasses. Whoa,
it's like it turned the flashlight blue. So remember, regular

(08:46):
light has all the colors in it, said mister Breck.
But your sunglasses are acting like a filter and only
letting the blue light through. Wait a second, so, oh
do you think that's what doctor Stinky Brett has done
in this case, asked Dava. Hmm, it's hard to believe
anyone could pull off something that big.

Speaker 4 (09:09):
Huh.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
But wait a second, it looks like everything's turning purple
outside of my house right now. It's it's happening. The
sun is turning purple. Mister Breck jumped up from where
he was sitting and was now looking out the window
at a purple sun. Mister Jim, Ava, and Jaden all

(09:33):
looked at each other. Hey, mister Bregg, thanks so much.
You've given us exactly the help we needed, said mister Jim.
I'll call you later to let you know if we
need any more help. Sounds good, mister Jim, Well, good
Luck's biology squad. I don't understand what all is going on,
but the world is gonna need you to figure it out.

(09:55):
They ended the call and mister Jim said, guys, it's
got it be in outer space. This has to be
where doctor Stinky Breath is controlling the light. Grab your
astronaut suits because you two are headed to space. We're
going where, shouted Jaden. Meanwhile, up in this space blimp,

(10:18):
the Purple Ninjas were calling doctor Stinky Breath let him
know that the plan had worked.

Speaker 4 (10:23):
Hain't, boss, Everything worked with the magnet hoop. We put
all that purple filters up through the magnet hoop and
it made it ginormous and where it almost covers the
whole Earth with the sunlight.

Speaker 6 (10:36):
Thing I can tell because I've called all my friends
and all of us the Earth people are talking about.
It's a purple light everywhere. Great job, Purple Ninjas. We
have won and the world knows us now.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Ah oh no, it sounds like doctor Sticky Breads plan
has actually worked. He's been able to turn all the
sunlight purple, which means our entire earth is now purple.
I don't know what's gonna happen next, but We're gonna
have to wait and see what happens on the next
episode of Spyology Squad. It's time for Biology Squad shout outs.
