This is Strange Things with Joshua Warren. I am Joshua
PE Warren, and each week on this show, I'll be
bringing you brand new my blowing content, news exercises, and
weird experiments you can do at home, and a lot more.
(01:38):
On this edition of the program, The Secret Wisdom of
Kuko Khan. I will tell you right off the bat.
I don't know if you can tell or not, but
my allergies are really bothering me because I'm in Las Vegas,
and over the past cup pull of days, we have
(02:01):
had record breaking winds here, uh, gusts of up to
sixty five miles per hour. And you have to understand,
there's not a drop of rain, not a drop of
moisture in the air. So when it starts gusting all
day long, I mean, like Lauren had to go outside and,
(02:24):
bless her heart, I was sleeping because you know, I
have a weird schedule. She went outside. She collected all
of the outdoor furniture and all that stuff and took
it inside because that stuff would have been blown all
over the place. Sixty hour is quite a gust with
no moisture and just the sand in the air, the
dust in the air. Uh. It gets tricky sometimes being
(02:47):
in the voice business when you live in a climate
like that. That's the only real problem that we have
to deal with though around here. Fortunately, I mean, you
know there you get some little earthquakes here and there,
but it doesn't you know, it's kind of scary, but
it doesn't do any damage. But you know, you don't
have to worry about tornadoes really or obviously hurricanes. Um,
(03:07):
there may be some flash flood zones. But I mean,
like it's a very good place to live. Man. When
those winds kick up and those sandstorms and dust storms
kick in, yeah, it's kind of hard to breathe for
a few days. And plus we went out last night,
so I was outdoors for a good portion of the evening.
(03:28):
And you know what, I'll give you a tip real quick,
because I know a lot of you listening probably will
will never be in uh in a sandstorm. But uh,
and so you might just find this interesting. If you
live in an area that gets them, well, then you
should know this. Uh sometimes when you get if you're
out driving, uh, all of a sudden, you can just
(03:50):
run into one of these storms. This happened to us
a few years ago in the Mojave Desert. Lauren and
I were making a road trip and uh, this was
part of southern California, out in the middle of nowhere,
and all of a sudden, I mean it's just like,
I mean, this is maybe two or three o'clock in
(04:11):
the afternoon, nice sunny day, and then it just looks
like an absolute wall of nothing but sheer white in
front of you and you drive right into it. It's
coming at you, you're going toward it, and the next
thing you know, you can't see anything. I mean, it's
(04:31):
it's absolute white out all around you. And um, of course,
at that point, all you can do is pull over
on the side of the road because it's impossible to drive.
I mean, if literally you could not see something that like,
you can't see something that would be on the end
(04:54):
of your hood, like if you had a hood ornament,
you couldn't even see that far. So all you can
do is pull over. We're gonna sit there until it
blows past, which who knows how long that will take.
And they tell you that when you end up in
that situation that you should turn your lights off. Whenever
(05:16):
you're entering one of those scenarios, turn off all the
lights on your car. And some people say, well, that
sounds counterintuitive, because you need to see more, you know,
you need to see better. Wouldn't that help you? And
it turns out the explanation is that if you leave
your lights on while you're pulled over on the side
(05:38):
of the road, the next person coming down the road
behind you is trying to figure out where the road is,
and so that person might see your tail lights and
believe that's where the road is, and then boom rear
ends you. That's how bad it gets. And that's why
(06:00):
you turn the lights off so you don't mislead the
person behind you into hitting you. You see what I mean.
That's some serious stuff. So but you know, the show
must go on. Bear with me, and this is actually
maybe kind of a special show in a way. Back
in I guess two thousand eight, I took a cruise.
(06:22):
I actually produced a cruise with a group of people.
I used to do that a lot. And we went
to some rather exotic locations and one of them was Belize.
And in Belize we went, uh, well, we we got
into a bus and we drove out into the jungle,
and then we got on a bus and we went
down got on a boat and we went down a
(06:43):
river with monkeys swinging around everywhere, and uh, we finally
ended up in the ruins of this old Mayan village
called Lama, and I uh the most secluded of the
old Mayan ruins and got to climb up on top
of the pyramid. And you know, it was a pretty
(07:03):
remarkable experience. And I discovered some really wild things while
I was there. Uh, and I started putting some pieces together,
and the following year, two thousand nine, I published my
book called The Secret Wisdom of Kuko Khan and um.
That book is available for instant download right now in
(07:28):
the Curiosity Shop of my website Joshua pe Warren dot com.
And uh and and and and this is the book
where I first talked about the paranormal loop hypothesis and
all that. The thing is, I have never read an
audio book version of this. There is no audio book
out there. And I loved listening to audio books. They're
(07:52):
great because I listened to them in the shower or
if you go to work and you're in your car,
or on a subway or what I mean. It's just
it's nice to have that option. But I I feel
like this is one of those books that I would
like to read. I don't want somebody else to read
it for me. I think it's better when the author
reads it. But I just don't have the time. I
(08:12):
don't have the time to read it. Um. And that
is because that I I'm always like, whenever I get
in front of a microphone, I'm doing a podcast. Um.
And so uh, then I had this sort of or
or or I'm being interviewed, which I occasionally grant people interviews,
(08:35):
but not that much anymore because I own a lot
of businesses and I'm very busy. I'm too busy. I
need to slow down. Um. But I got this brilliant idea.
The brilliant idea was what if occasionally I read a
chapter or two from The Secret Wisdom of Kuko Khan
(08:56):
on my podcast and then I'm killing two birds with
one stone because people listening to the podcast they get
to hear a little bit of the book. And then
in like a year, I'll have read the whole book
and I can just put it together and voila, I've
recorded my audio book, which I can give out there
(09:18):
to the world. See. Isn't that smart? My mama always
called me special. And so what I'm gonna do here
is read I don't know some of the book. Uh.
And then I'm gonna talk about other things as well. Uh.
And I'm not going to just like, every week read
(09:40):
more of this book, because I also think that would
get boring if you just kept Uh. One of the
great things about this podcast is I try to mix
it up and change things around. I don't want to
just like literally read a read a book to you
for weeks. That that reminds me of how Andy Kaufman
used to stand up in front of crowds you didn't
like in read The Great Gatsby as long as he
(10:03):
could until everybody left. So I'm not gonna do that, Uh,
but I am going I am going to uh just
just start reading and you know, again, a chapter here,
chapter there, And I've picked a wonderful time to do
it right when, like I say, my allergies are bothering
(10:23):
me because I'm such a sensitive, sensitive naked man. But uh,
if you wait for everything to be perfect, well you
know how it goes, it's never gonna be. One of
the things about this book that I think I should
point out here is uh the subtitle because it's called
(10:43):
The Secret Wisdom of Kuck Khan, and Kucko Khan refers
to a Mayan deity. Uh. And in the book, I
get into who Kuckle Khan is and uh these comparisons
to other figures that come down from this guy, the
Feathered Serpent and such, and uh, I don't think we're
(11:04):
gonna make it that far today. But the the subtitle
is Enterdimensional Contact and a holo sentient universe where we
talk about you know, aliens, ghosts, cryptids, esp and you
(11:26):
how it all relates. And I invented that word holo
sentient because it's more than a holograph where you're sort
of seeing things. Holo sentient means it's like a holograph
that allows you to feel things. Right. Okay, So when
we come back, I'm going to start reading this to you,
and I want to also point out that I might
(11:50):
just take, uh, this is twenty two, I might just
take December of this year off just to relax a
little bit and catch up on some things. You know,
about a new house this year, and there's still a
lot of work to be done. There are a lot
of boxes to be unpacked. So if I take off
(12:10):
this December, we'll just replace some best stuffs for you,
so you'll know what's going on there. I'll talk to
producer Tom dan Hizer about that and we'll see. In
the meantime, you know, I'm gonna be giving away some
really cool stuff to those of you who subscribe to
my free Eat newsletter. If you go to Joshua Pee
Warren dot com. Right there on the homepage, there's a
(12:31):
little box. You can't miss it. Put your email address
in there, hit the submit button. You'll be subscribed, and
you will instantly receive an automated email from me that's
got some links to some really great online digital gifts
you can instantly take advantage of that will help you

(12:53):
more magical. All that is on the homepage of Joshua
Pee Warren dot com. I have Joshua Pee Warren. Then
you are listening to Strange Things on the I Heart
Radio and Coast to Coast stay AM Paranormal podcast Network,
and I will be right back. Welcome back to Strange
(13:45):
Things on the I Heart Radio and Coast to Coast
a AM paranormal podcast network. I'm your host, the Wizard
of Weird, Joshua Pia Warren, beaming into your wormhole brain
from my studio and since city, Las Vegas, Nevada, where
every day as golden and every night is silver. By
(14:08):
the way, the first time I invented that term, the
wormhole brain, was when I revealed it in this book
that came out in two thousand nine, The Secret Wisdom
of Kuka Khan and Uh. When this book came out.
There was a lady who I respect a lot, who
(14:31):
emailed me and, uh, you've probably heard me said this before,
but I thought it was so uh flattering, at such
an honor that I repeat it once in a while,
she said. And this woman was probably in her sixties.
And she said, I read the first paragraph and I
realized this was the book I had been wanting to
(14:51):
read my entire life. Wow. Yeah, so um, let's just
dive right in. And like I said, I'm going to
talk about some other stuff tonight. It's not just gonna
be this or today or whenever you're listening. Oh excuse me,
(15:13):
all right. The Secret Wisdom of Kucko Khan enter dimensional
contact in a holo sentient universe. What is knowing? All
that we see or seem is but a dream within
a dream edgar Allan Poe, Chapter one. What are you?
(15:46):
If I took a mighty hand and squashed every bit
of water and empty space from your body, you would
be the size of a pee I could roll between
my fingers. Most view is nothing. That is why so
much will pass through your empty spaces. Radio waves, X rays,
(16:09):
magnetic fields and so on slip right through you. A
loose cluster of matter has adhered to us. But we
are so egocentric that we usually think of ourselves as
a solid and ultimate mass. As time advances and knowledge grows,
we understand more and more that we are less and less.
(16:36):
So what are you? You are one infinitely tiny pinpoint
of awareness, surrounded by an ever changing energy field, and
yet that quantum spec that is, you can funnel and
channel vast information from the sprawling cosmos and from un
(16:59):
amad genable dimensions. The seat of your being, consciousness and
awareness is an infinitiesmally small wormhole, and what you know
is the information that flows through it and and out,
connecting the energy fields flowing and standing around it. You
(17:24):
are a faucet and a dream, pouring forth data and
receiving it. That is the permanent you that has always
been and will always be. Anything else extending from you
is temporary, fluctuating, and bound perpetual cycles of growth and
decay in many various forms. This tube of information exchange,
(17:52):
the dynamic seat of your consciousness we will call the
wormhole brain or w h B. Though all are similar,
no two are exactly alike. Some are larger or smaller
than others able to transfer more or less. The way
(18:13):
in which the information is ultimately processed includes the filters
of your physical brain or lack thereofs as in single
celled organisms, though the wormhole brain of you, an eagle bear,
and a shark are equally impressive, the physical brain determines
(18:34):
how that initial flow of cosmic information should be used,
what is relevant to that particular creatures survival at that
particular time, in that particular place. For example, at the
worm whole brain level, you are not necessarily more intelligent
than a dog, but the dog's physical brain extracts the
(18:55):
information most suitable for the dog's survival needs, just as
yours extracts the information suitable for a human. And yes,
when one creature's form dies, it may eventually congeal or
reincarnate into another creature's form, But there really is no
(19:19):
such thing as death, just decay and transformation. Your life
in this realm as a mature, self contained soul begins
the moment you are separated from your mother and no
longer dependent on her alone for immediate survival. Your life
(19:40):
in this realm as a mature, self contained soul ends
the moment your consciousness fully detaches from your energy mold.
These are the points when you transition through incarnations, and
since all things in the universe are connected, the pattern
of the star ares and planets can signify things about
(20:03):
your cycle. Astrology is based on time warrn observations of
cycles and outcomes, hence its ability to define characteristics of
your incarnations. You don't necessarily remember your past selves. There's
no point in it, as there have been more incarnations
(20:26):
of you than sand grains upon the beaches. You may
catch a glimpse of your recent incarnations once in a while,
but it's not worth focusing on any more than focusing
on an old car now that you have a better one.
And if it's not better, well, it's your job to
make it better, to create what you want in the
(20:50):
periods of time between your incarnations. The energy field around
your wormhole brain is shaped like a sphere. You literally
appear as a ball of light. The sphere is the
most perfect, balanced and efficient form. Photographers capture orbs created
by specks of dust, moisture, reflections, etcetera. The true orbs
(21:15):
the ones that move slowly on video, passing through walls,
brightening and dimming, bouncing, and interacting are discarnate beings. They
are worm whole brains surrounded by a basic energy field,
and their interests are as varied as those of species
within the animal kingdom. Are they good? Are they bad?
(21:38):
It all depends on who is asking the question. You
may as well ask the same question of all the
people living on your street. Different people would give a
different answer, but there is one universal truth. All beings.
First consider self interest. If if you contribute to the
(22:00):
self interest of a being, you are good to that being,
and if you do not, you are bad. Of course,
there is a wide spectrum of shades in between, and
that is why relationships are so intricate and complex. Good
and bad are subjective and culturally influenced terms, and you
(22:24):
must decide what is good or evil based on what
harms others, while respecting others rights to harm themselves to
some degree. Like all things, a worm whole brain can
become infected, especially the joint where it extends into the
energy field that becomes your physical brain and body. Sometimes
(22:46):
this infection is due to a parasite, a discarnate wormhole
brain that forces itself into the base of your energy field,
and this is traditionally called possess, and that is generally
too powerful a word, since the individual is not entirely possessed,
(23:07):
but strongly influenced. And this can happen most easily when
the person's wormhole brain becomes weak due to lack of
mental exercise experien excuse me, due to lack of mental exercise,
or because it opens too widely due to irresponsible use
(23:28):
of mind altering substances like drugs or alcohol. And when
someone becomes possessed, removing the invasive wormhole brain can be
a challenge. The key is to find what the invader
fears or finds unpleasant subjecting it to that will eventually work.
For example, if the parasite believes in a god that
(23:50):
will damn one to hell, while making threats in the
name of God can work. If the parasite thrives on
the energy of alcohol, avoid alcohol, and it will eventually
leave to locate another source. That is why helping someone
regain control begins with understanding the conditions that led up
to the possession, and then how the parasite has been
(24:12):
fed since then. To maintain control of yourself, spend considerable
time each day exercising your intellect by reading about philosophy,
science and history, or working on puzzles and creative compositions
of positive music or art. Those tasks provide well rounded
(24:38):
challenges to keep you mentally alert and fit. Time for
a break. When we come back, I'll move on to
the last section of this which is what happens when
inevitably now your body decays and you die. I've talked
(25:01):
about this before, but you might be very interested to
hear this spin on it as I read more from
my book, The Secret Wisdom of Coco Con. A little later,
I have a UFO update for you and UH and
a question for you. I need your help, I guess
I'm Joshua Pete Warren. You're listening to Strange Things on
(25:23):
the I Heart Radio and Coast to Coast. I am
Paranormal podcast Network. I'll be back after these important messages.
(26:04):
Welcome back to Strange Things on the I Heart Radio
and Coast to Coast a yem aeron Normal podcast Network.
I'm your host, Joshua pe Warren, and this is the
show where the unusual becomes the usual. I'm reading from
chapter one of my two thousand nine book called The
(26:27):
Secret Wisdom of Kuckle Khan. You can find it as
an e book uh in my Curiosity Shop on my website,
or you can buy a printed copy off of Amazon.
Back to the remainder of the chapter. Inevitably, over time,
(26:51):
your present human body will decay and die. Do not
be depressed as you watch your body weaken. Keep your
mind strong, and you can help minimize the impact of
watching your form decay by visiting sacred sites. These are
(27:12):
places that energize and excite you. Most of them have
places that allow your brain to relax and slip into
peaceful states. Any muscle clinched too long will tire. Your
energy should be replenished once in a while. Sacred sites
(27:33):
are places where the earth gives forth high energy fills,
massaging and rejuvenating yours. They can be huge, exotic and famous,
or a nook you've been lucky enough to find near
your house. Most of them are near water. Enormous ruins
(27:54):
like the Pyramids were usually built near water. We'll explore
that more later. Personally, I go into water to re
energize myself in My favorite place is a special bay
in Puerto Rico. Because we are an energy field fed
(28:14):
by a tiny wormhole, we are able to influence and
be influenced by other energy fields. Other people, beings, objects,
and places in nature impact us, and we impact them.
This is called the mind body environment connection, or m
(28:36):
b E. Paranormal investigation is so difficult because researchers are
usually implementing extremely sensitive devices hoping they can measure some
subtle field. But the more subtle the field, the more
it is drowned by the researcher's equipment. In very presence,
(28:59):
much paranormal activity only transpires in the physical presence of
an observer. If the investigator leaves the site, that act
that that activity may not occur. Remote cameras play an
unclear role in this process, since they are actually extensions
(29:20):
of the researchers physical presence. I'm talking about. A subject
can be viewed from two extremes. Firstly, when you walk
into a room, you carry with you a storm of
electro magnetic energy. Tiny lightning bolts of electrostatic charge shoot
(29:41):
around you every moment, making changes in the room that
we may not notice during the daily distraction of a
routine walk, but nonetheless distort the energy environment significantly. Every
object in the world, including your body, maintains a property
(30:01):
called isotropic capacitance. You see, we generally think of a
world filled with conductors things that allow electricity to pass,
and non conductors or insulators, things that do not allow
electricity to pass. But the fact is that everything is
actually dielectric, meaning in my terminology, it is capable of
(30:25):
conducting some electrical energy within certain parameters. We simply call
the ones that conduct the best conductors and those that
conduct the worst insulators. Since every bit of physical mass
is transferring energy all the time, when you walk into
(30:47):
a room, there are overlapping fields of energy between you
and every object in the room, it's the same when
you step outside. Your body is somehow touching every tree,
each cloud, each stone and blade of grass. You are
(31:08):
connected to the world around you. The strength of that
connection is powerful and direct, but it is so complex
that we can't yet fathom all the webs, nor account
for all the variables change changing every second by the
billions as you simply move, think, and exist in this world.
(31:32):
I'm sure properties like humidity affect the degree of interaction,
but a lightning bolt forms and rain because the power
of the bolt is greater than the amount of moisture
that can diffuse it. Some people and energies are stronger
than others. But furthermore, to fully appreciate the mind body
(31:56):
environment connection, you must consider the wisdom of quantum physics.
The Heisenberg uncertainty principle has proven that by merely observing something,
you influence or change what is being observed. You may
not understand the full implications of that yet, but you
(32:16):
will think about what it means. By existing, by observing,
you create change in the world, like it or not,
for better or for worse. You are a creator? What
(32:38):
do you create each day? And that is the end
of chapter one. Chapter two is called what are You?
So I'm not going to read any more of the
book on this particular show. So I guess that means
(33:02):
as I go through this project, I'm probably gonna get
like a chapter for show. When I decided to do this.
How many chapters are there? There's seven chapters. It's gonna
be a while. It's gonna be a while before this
is but here are the chapters. Chapter one is what
(33:23):
I just read, is called what are You? Chapter two
as called where are You? Chapter three is called Tools
to Access Truth. Chapter four is where we finally dig
into it. It's called Cucko khan Uh. Chapter five is
(33:46):
called Wisdom and Time, Chapter six is called the Para
temporal loop hypothesis, and chapter seven is called your Purpose
and Intention. So but you know what, this is not
one of these big thick books. I could have done that.
I have written books before that are over four hundred pages.
(34:09):
That was a novel. But I didn't want this to
be a big thick book because I thought that would
defeat the purpose. I wanted to be sort of like
a very digestible little book. And so, um, depending on
how you read it. I mean, you know, it's probably
less than a hundred pages, depending on you know what
form it's said and how it's printed and all that um.
(34:30):
And you know, I wrote it a long time ago.
Really again, two thousand nine is when it came out.
So I don't know, it's gonna be interesting as I
read through this. Maybe I'll disagree with uh some of
the things that I I said, or maybe i'd rephrase
things differently. I don't know, but I hope that you
enjoyed that. And uh, you know what, deck it's content.
(34:51):
It's a free show, folks. Okay, if you if you
have a problem, take the Hanger and aid and take
a number right men, No, seriously, I hope that you
are enjoying, um, just thinking about some of these these
concepts and maybe I'll go back later and dig deeper
into some of them. Of course, we're heading into this
(35:13):
direction of interdimensional relationships and a whole essentient universe. And
let me remind you if you want to just say
I'm not gonna wait for Joshua to read this whole thing,
and I'm like it's going to take them two years
to do it, you can go right now to Joshua P.
Warren dot com and download the whole uh pdf. It's
(35:34):
like less than ten bucks anywhere in the world, and
you can start reading this thing. But you know, I
talk about UFOs in here, and the UFO phenomenon is
becoming more and more prevalent all the time, and recently
on my Twitter feed, which is at Joshua P. Warren,
and you can also see it just by visiting my website.
There's a little window there that allows you to see
(35:57):
my tweets. Uh. The Day Show did a segment about
this guy who is about as highly qualified as you
can get as a pilot. He was a military American man,
a military fighter pilot. They said he was a flight instructor.
(36:18):
Uh he I think they said he has a degree
in meteorology. I mean, this guy, he's got like the
perfect set of credentials to be able to look at
anomalous aerial phenomena and determine what he may be looking at.
And this guy has gone out there and he's put
(36:38):
his name out there, and he's gone on camera and
he has said there is an increase in the UFO
activity which he is especially seeing as stuff that like
he says, sometimes he'll see something that looks like a
shooting star and then it will just stop, and then
(37:00):
it will start moving around and joining up with other
objects that look very similar. And he has seen this
over and over he and just recently, like over the
past few months, and it's becoming so prominent. He said that. Uh,
other pilots are starting to share stories and talk about
what they've experienced, and they're all seeing the same thing.
(37:22):
But there's one thing that all of these sightings appear
to have in common. And when we come back from
this break, I'm gonna dig into what that one thing
is the mystery of this one thing, and then Uh yeah,
I want to tell you something else weird. I got
a few things weird today. You know me. I'm Joshua
(37:44):
Pete Warren. You're listening to Strange Things. Oh, you know
my Heart Radio and Coast to Coast a Parinarmo podcast network.
I'll be right back. Welcome back to the final segment
(38:29):
of this edition of Strange Things on the I Heart
Radio and Coast to Coast AM Paranormal podcast Network. I'm
your host, Joshua pe Warren. And this pilot said that
all of these new UFOs that he and other pilots
(38:50):
are seeing seemed to appear around the Big Dipper. Now
what does that mean? Well, you know, I'm as fascinated
by the cosmos is as anybody, but you know, I
am far from an astronomy expert. And I was like, well, okay,
well what what what could that mean? And so I
(39:11):
did a little research and uh again, I could be
totally wrong, but my understanding is that when you're looking
at the Big Dipper, you're kind of looking in the
direction of the North Star. People use the Big Dipper
and the Little Dipper to find the North Star, so
you're literally looking towards the North pole, so you're looking
north of the Earth. So I got onto social media here,
(39:35):
I went to Twitter and Facebook, and I said, pilots
are saying UFOs are often appearing around the Big Dipper,
hence the north, generally speaking, what galaxies are north of Earth?
And I got all kinds of answers, and for example,
one guy said, that's pretty much a non answerable question
(40:00):
from space. And he said, and yes, I know you
said north, but it's still unanswerable. Another guy said all
of them. Somebody else said north, south, east west only
apply when navigating the Earth, blah blah blah blah. Okay,
(40:21):
and then like and then somebody else said m A
D one uh, and m A D two from our perspective,
which m A D one I think is a star
that uh where they got one of those fast radio
bursts from they can't explain. So I'm getting like a
bunch of different mixed answers here. And I don't know,
maybe that is an illegitimate question. Maybe that's like asking
(40:44):
what color is the wind. I don't know, but I
have been um like you. You get my point though,
If you're seeing UFOs that are always coming from around
where people see the big dipper. Well what does that mean? Okay,
that's my question. So if any of you have any
(41:05):
real uh astronomical credentials and you can give me an
opinion on that, please do Just go to Joshua P.
Warren dot com. You can scroll down to the bottom
of the page there and you'll find my email address,
and uh maybe we'll learn something from this. I'll keep
you updated. Uh. You know, from time to time, I
(41:26):
do something different when I in the show. I I
do what I call mental manna because I'm always just
writing down notes about weird things that happened. This show
is called strange Things, and sometimes I just look for
an opportunity to squeeze them in somewhere. And I'm gonna
do that right now because you know, Uh, the other day,
(41:51):
my wife, uh Lauren was I was electrifying her by
hooking her up to a Vandergraph generator and charging her
body with electricity. Uh. If don't ask me why I
was doing that, that's none of your business. But anyway,
she was. She's charged up, and you know, her hair
(42:14):
is kind of standing up and everything, and uh are
creepy little dog Lama, the one that I think is
part schupacabra. She likes to lick things. So here's Laurence
standing on top of this plastic like insulated stand and
Lama comes up there and decides to lick Lauren's heel
(42:38):
and pal so she says, she gets a little pop
on the nose and goes running off the horror And uh,
of course, no, none of us expected that. But I
think that if you have a dog with a licking issue,
then maybe a Vandergraph generator can be applied. But I
bring this up because you know, when you think about
animals electricity, this is horrible. But we've all seen that footage,
(43:04):
I guess, of that elephant that was electrocuted back in
the day, you know, like back in the eighteen hundreds.
And uh, I've always been interested in that because when
I was a kid, Uh, well, I was publishing books,
but I was a young man, and um I met
an author in East Tennessee named Charles Edwin Price, and
(43:27):
he wrote a book called The Day They Hung the Elephant,
and uh, it's a fascinating story. Uh. In nineteen six,
team there was this circus that came through East Tennessee,
I think around king Sport and the elephant. There a
five time Asian elephant just killed it's keeper and the
(43:51):
locals they determined that this elephant needed to die, and
so they literally got out a gigantic crane and put
a chain around this elephant's neck. And it was a
huge spectacle and they hanged this this elephant in the Irwin, Tennessee.
You can see a picture of that um. But the
(44:13):
most famous electrocution of an animal has got to be
Topsy the elephant. And when you see that video footage
of Topsy being electrocuted, this happened in nineteen o three,
And here's the story. Topsy was a female Asian elephant
who was electrocuted at Coney Island, New York, in January
(44:33):
of nineteen o three. Born in Southeast Asia around eighteen
seventy five, Topsy was secretly brought into the US and
soon thereafter um added to a herd of elephants performing
at this place called the Four Paul Circus. So they
were fraudulently advertising her as the first elephant born in America.
(44:56):
During her twenty five years, she gained a reputation as
a bad elephant, and after killing a spectator in nineteen
o two, was sold to Coney Island Sea Lion Park.
Sea Lion was leased out at the end of nineteen
o two and uh, and during the construction that took place,
(45:18):
let's see, Topsy was used in publicity stunts, involved in
several well publicized incidents. Anyway, so they're going to say
that they they're they're end of the year plan there
was to advertise the opening of this new park by
euthanizing Topsy in public by hanging her and charging admission.
(45:42):
But the A s p c A had a problem
with that. Yeah, the the SPCA has been around since
eighteen sixty six. I didn't realize that they were that
old of an organization. And so basically eventually, UH, they
came to like a compromise where they said, look, we'll
give her some some cyanide and electrocute her, and apparently
(46:06):
everybody kind of signed off, like all right, we'll find um.
And so she was given four of cyanide, electrocuted and strangled,
with the electrocution being the final cause of death. And
among the invited press that day was a crew from
Edison Manufacturing Movie Company who filmed the event, and their
(46:32):
film of the electrocution UH was viewed, released and viewed
and all these like coin operated kinetoscopes with the title
Electrocuting and Elephant, and they say it's probably the first
film death of an animal in history. And the story
of Topsy fell into obscurity for the next seventy years,
(46:54):
but has become more prominent and popular culture, partly due
to the fact that the film of the event still
this in popular culture. The killing of Topsy has switched
attributions with claims it was an anti alternating current demonstration
organized by Thomas Edison during the War of the Currents. However,
(47:17):
Edison was never at Luna Park and the electrocution of
Topsy took place ten years after the War of the Currents.
So a lot of people think about, you know, what
a bad guy Thomas Edison supposedly was, and he he
usually has portrayed that way. I always admired Thomas has
and I think he's one of the greatest geniuses who
(47:37):
ever lived. When I was a kid, in my home laboratory,
my basement, I had a picture of Thomas Edison on
the wall. That was my inspiration. And uh so apparently
he did not do that. I'm sure that he probably
participated in killing other animals, but he did not. He
wasn't responsible for Topsy the elephant. But it just kind
(47:58):
of like, yeah, strange of mental manner, something to think about, um,
and it makes you wonder though, like, hey, should we
be killing anything or should everything get to live until
it dies naturally? These are pig questions, um. In fact,
(48:19):
look at fishing. Is fishing okay? Do we need to
go out there and throw a line out and hook
hook something and rill it in and then throw it
back out? And these are questions to be considered. I
actually have more on that and another mental manna for
you in the future. But okay, my friends, enough of
this madness. It's time for you to chill out, relax.
(48:42):
Let's clear our our souls, our bodies, our spirits, and
just if you can close your eyes. If not, that's okay,
but take some deep breaths, let it all go, and
let's listen together all over the world to the one
and only good fortune tongue. Here it is. That's it
