your needs.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Ready to be amazed by the wizard of Weird Strange
Things with Joshua Warren. I am Joshua pe Warren, and
each week on this show, I'll be bringing you brand
new mind blowing content, news exercises, and weird experiments you

(01:28):
can do at home, and a lot more on this
edition of the program. Easy Happiness Hacks. Are you stuck
in a rut? Well wait till you hear this and
the as Tech Death Whistle Times one thousand. How's that

(01:50):
for a dichotomy of topics? Huh, A little something for everybody.
You may recall I recently play an actual replica of
an Aztec death whistle on this podcast, and of course,
this is this horrifying sounding device that an army of

(02:16):
warriors would all blow as they were marching in storming
into battle in ancient times. And you know, just to
blow one whistle kind of makes the hair stand up
on the back of your neck. And I got quite
a bit of feedback from that. One listener said, you know, Josh,
what if, what if you could take the the magic

(02:40):
of your audio studio and actually recreate the sound of
hundreds or even a thousand warriors actually blowing this thing,
Like what would that sound like? And I thought, well,
I believe I can do that, So I did it
and the result was quite surprising. And later on in

(03:02):
the show, I'm going to play for you the audio
that I came up with for what it would sound
like if you actually had one thousand warriors storming toward you, raging,
all blowing the ASTech death whistle at the same time,
and I'll tell you how I put it together. But

(03:25):
one guy emailed me who when I played the Lone
Whistle before, and he said that he likes to listen
to my podcast as he's falling asleep. A little did
he know that that particular podcast was not going to
lull him into a peaceful slumber. He said he was
just dozing off when I played the ASTech death whistle,

(03:48):
and you can imagine in that state, it scared him
half to death. But look it is now as I
record this, the spring of twenty twenty three, and it
has been a long winter. It just seemed like the
cold temperature has just kept dragging on and on. And yes, granted,

(04:09):
we may have had something to do with that, because
I asked everybody to manifest a lot of snow in
the western US this past winter to help with some
of the drought conditions, filling up the reservoirs and whatnot,
and we did a great job. But I think we
did such a great job that the winter has been very,
very powerful. And one of the downsides of winter is

(04:33):
that people often start feeling depressed. It's well known, you know,
seasonal depression, and so sometimes when you start feeling depressed,
you start becoming pessimistic, you get stuck in a rut
and it's time to pull yourself out of that. And
so I thought this would be a great occasion for
me to read to you some scientific tips about how

(05:00):
to hack into your brain, your physiology and make yourself happier. Okay,
happiness hacks, and this is information that first appeared on
health dot com. It's been published in various other places.
So first we're going to go down this simple list
of things that you can do that will make you

(05:22):
feel better and get you out of your rut. But
then I'm going to transition from there and tell you
about some metaphysical things that I think you can do
that will also help you with this. And then of
course I'll save the army of Aztec death whistles for
the end of the show, or closer to the end.

(05:44):
All right, let's get to these tips, shall we. And
I'm just going to read through this list and give
you sort of my thoughts on each one of these
happiness hacks things that will help you feel better. Right
off the bat, it says practice kindness, and you know what,

(06:05):
that is absolutely true. Says when you're helping others, no
matter if you do it directly or indirectly, you know
you can do it even anonymously. When you help others.
Somehow them being happy makes you happier. It says. If
you think that there's no way you could possibly ever

(06:27):
be a happier, kinder person, just try it out if
you are happy. Let me put it this way. If
you put on a happy face and you're kind to
somebody else and you see that person smile and light up,
that makes you feel good. So we'll start with that,
all right, Fine, next, Oh boy, this is not a

(06:49):
good one. Exercise. You hear it all the time. I
have just never been a fan of exercise for the
sake of exercise, So I'm okay exercising if I have
a mission, like let's say I'm taking a hike to
a bar to get drunk or something like that, that

(07:12):
motivates me. No, I'm joking, but honestly, what I mean
is that like I enjoyed, for example, living in Puerto
Rico a lot, because I lived in this little town
where you could kind of walk everywhere, and so you
didn't feel like you were going out just to exercise.
You actually were going out and you were just you know,
seeing the sights and mingling with people and that's a

(07:34):
lot more difficult now that I live in a bigger
city here in Las Vegas, So you have to sort
of find a way, I guess, if you're going to exercise,
to make it not feel as much like you're just
doing it for the sake of doing it, unless you
just like that some people do. But they say here
that getting your blood pumping releases indorphins throughout your whole body,

(07:55):
and even though it may be hard to get started,
when you do that, those endorphins start creating these feelings
of happiness, and that can alleviate symptoms of depression. So
you know, anything, even if you turn on some music
and you just dance around in your living room, or
if you have a staircase, walk up and down the
steps ten times, anything you can do like that will

(08:19):
supposedly help. Next, we have here load up on leafy greens.
Dark leafy greens like spinach and kale are rich in folate,
providing thirty three percent of the recommended daily allowance, and
this nutrient is leaked to a linked to a decrease

(08:41):
in negative moods and depression because it helps produce dopamine
in the brain. So that's another one of those things
like that does not sound like a lot of fun
to eat leafy greens, does it. But if you don't
like to eat leafy greens, find a way you can
tolerate them. Add some spice to them, some sauce to them,

(09:05):
and you know, depending on your system. You know, some
people have problems even digesting a lot of leafy greens.
But again, just be creative and find a way so
that if you don't like the experience of eating them,
you know, you don't want to feel like you're a
cow or something like that out in the field, add

(09:26):
something to it that will help you tolerate it. Next, now,
this is kind of weird, buy flowers for yourself. A
team of Harvard researchers found that keeping fresh flowers at
home does wonders and keeping away anxiety and negative moods.
People in the study also felt more compassionate toward others,

(09:49):
and they felt a boost of energy and enthusiasm at work.
That sounds silly, doesn't it, to buy flowers for yourself,
But at the same time, it does make sense because
flowers are living things. They do produce this large field
of bio energy. And of course I'm always talking about

(10:12):
seeing the aura around plants. And if you're new to
this podcast, I just want you to realize that when
you hear people talk about seeing an aura of colors
around a living being, whether it's a person or an
animal or a plant, and you just think there's nothing
to that that maybe that just sounds like some kind
of hogwash, some woo woo stuff. Well I created. I

(10:36):
invented this type of visor that you can wear that
will train your eyes to start seeing the aura in
a matter of minutes. And if you sign up for
my free e newsletter at Joshua Pwarren dot com, then
you will receive an automated email and it has instructions
on how you can make this visor. And I mean

(10:58):
like a kindergartener could do. And it's very very easy
to make, and you put this on and it will
train your eyes to start seeing the aura and other
aspects of the spiritual world. I don't know why anybody
would not try this out. And so when you do that,
you can actually see that plants they give off an
energy field which I think feeds us and energizes us.

(11:23):
So I can understand why buying flowers for yourself would
be beneficial looks like it's going to be a time
for a break here soon. And then when we come back,
I'm going to give you more of these tips. And
like I say, this is like practical, sort of common
sense kind of stuff supposedly, but I'm going to get

(11:47):
into metaphysical tips for you as well when we come back.
Speaking of my website, you know this show, it's a
free show. So if you like it, if you love it,
if you want it to continue, you have to support it.
So when you go there to Joshua Pewarren dot com again,

(12:08):
sign up for that free e newsletter so that you
will immediately receive some free automated online gifts from me. Okay,
you'll get an email boom. But also check out everything
in the Curiosity Shop and you will find some things
there that you will not find anywhere else in the
entire world. If you buy something from the Curiosity Shop,

(12:29):
buy something cool for yourself or for a friend or
a loved one. When you do that, it's a win
win win because you get something cool and it also
keeps the show going. Okay, that's that's how we pay
the bills by doing stuff like selling cool stuff and
the Curiosity Shop. So Joshua Pwarren dot com. I am

(12:53):
Joshua pe Warren, and you are listening to Strange Things
on the iHeartRadio and Coast to Coast AM Paranormal Podcast Network,
and I will be right back.

Speaker 4 (13:12):
Hang in there. Josh is coming right back on the
iHeartRadio and Coast to Coast AM Paranormal Podcast Network. You
may have heard that some car manufacturers have dropped AM

(13:34):
radios from their cars.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
Hi.

Speaker 4 (13:36):
It's Sandra Champlain from Shades of the Afterlife and more
than eighty million Americans depend on AM radio for our news, traffic, weather, sports,
our favorite shows, and a community connection. It's also the
backbone of the emergency alert system, keeping us safe in
dangerous times. We really need to keep AM radio cars

(14:00):
because when sell and internet services are down, this is
a free service and the only lifeline for a lot
of people. Do me the favor. Text the letters A
M two five to eight eight six. This will tell
Congress that we need AM radio to stay in cars.

(14:22):
Feel free to share this with your friends again. Text
A M two five two eight eight six. Thank you,
and we're back with Strange Things and Joshua P.

Speaker 5 (14:43):
Warren, welcome back.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
To strange things on the iHeartRadio and Coast to Coast
AM Paranormal Podcast Network. I am your host, the Wizard
of Weird, Joshua P. Warren, beaming into your wormhole brain
from my studio and sin the city Las Vegas, Nevada,
where every day is golden and every night is silver.

(15:35):
H giatato zoom may. And now let's get back to
these easy hacks for happiness. Because you know, your mind
affects your body. You really can't separate the two. That's
what the whole mind body I even call it the

(15:55):
mind body environment relationship is about. And so a positive
mind also helps to create a positive body and vice versa.
And so you know, you can't just focus too much
on one or the other. And my goodness, if anybody
is guilty of focusing too much on one, that would

(16:15):
be me because I am always engaged and these mind
oriented pursuits, you know, doing research and investigations and experiments
and talking about it all the time. And so I
am imbalanced because I need to go out and do
more physical stuff. And then of course you have people

(16:38):
who have the opposite problem. But it's all connected, all related. Okay,
let's go back to our list of things that you
can do that might be considered easy happiness hacks to
get you out of your rut. So the next one
is something that I already touched on, a smile. It says,

(17:00):
while you may think of smiling as a reaction to
feeling happy, some researchers suggest that smiling can also lead
to joy. The simple act of smiling, even if you
have to force it, might help to activate the happiness
centers in your brain, leaving you in a better mood.
You know what, I have to stop for a moment
because in my book Use the Force, a Jedi's Guide

(17:24):
to the Law of Attraction, which you can read for
free as a PDF online. If you go to my
website Joshua Ppwarren dot com, you'll see the cover somewhere
there on the top of probably of the homepage where
you can click it, and it's free in English and
in Spanish. Now, as a matter of fact, I'm delighted

(17:45):
with that there is a section of this book Use
the Force, and it's called the Magic of Smiling, And
I may as well take a moment and read that
section to you smile as much and as often as possible,
you will be as by the results. Each time you
see yourself in a mirror, smile at yourself. Each time

(18:07):
you see another person, smile at him or her. If
you must think of something happy in order to make
it a wide, warm, genuine expression. If you begin every
interaction you have with another person with a true smile,
however challenging the situation may seem, incredibly positive, things will happen.

(18:30):
I travel often, and zipping around the world on airplanes
can be wrought with extremely stressful situations. On numerous occasions
through the years, I have found myself in difficult predicaments.
One time, for example, I was flying across the country
from Nevada to North Carolina when a blizzard struck the
East Coast, grinding the airline schedules to a halt. I

(18:55):
waited in line for hours to reach the airline counter.
Since this was an act of nature in the airline
was not obliged to offer free hotel accommodations. I watched
travelers in front of me over and over shout at
and insult the workers in dramatic displays. When I finally
reached the counter, I was just the next number in line.

(19:18):
I had no reason to think I would receive special treatment. However,
I stepped up to the counter with a calm smile.
The lady working had a puzzled expression on her face,
and though I felt just as frustrated and stressed as
everyone else, I chuckled and said kind, sympathetic things. Despite

(19:41):
the airline policy, the lady granted me a nice, free
hotel room for several days while I waited for the
storm to subside. I have absolutely no doubt that this
was due to the magic of smiling and my corresponding demeanor.
I expressed and projected kindness, and that same kindness was

(20:03):
reflected directly back to me. Though it is important to
be mindful of the force and your relationship with it
at all times, it is especially important to do so
during times of stress. The more it seems things are
unraveling around you and those less trained are descending into
unregulated emotion and disarray, the more powerful you can be

(20:28):
by sticking to your spiritual connections. So that is the
section called the Magic of Smiling from my book Use
the Force and you know what. You don't have to
be into Star Wars to read this book and gain
wisdom from it. Sometimes people ask me what am I

(20:48):
most proud of writing, because I've published I don't know,
well over twenty books at this point. This is the one.
This is the one I'm most proud of writing. Use
the Force, a Jedi's Guide to the Law of Attraction,
And like I say, you can read it for free
if you go to my website. All right, Next on
the list, turn on a light box. Light therapy is

(21:12):
an effective treatment for seasonal effective disorder or SAD SAD,
but experts agree that it works to treat symptoms of
major depressive disorder as well feeling blue. You can turn
on a light box for thirty minutes to an hour
when you're down, but to feel its full effects, use

(21:35):
it as part of a daily therapy routine. So here's
what I guess they're talking about. Like, Okay, I am
in my studio right now, of course, and because this
is a studio, and because that I am in Las Vegas,
which is one of the brightest, sunniest places in the world,
it looks like a cave in here. I do have

(21:57):
some windows, but the windows are all still up and
blacked out, and I've got foam all over the place
so that you don't hear any pronounced echoes, and so
sitting inside here, even when it is broad daylight on
a nice beautiful sunny spring afternoon, I wouldn't know where

(22:21):
I was or what was going on outside. And when
you spend enough time in this extremely controlled, isolated environment,
then sometimes, you know, you do start to feel a
little depressed. It actually does happen. You just start feeling
like there's a sense of timelessness. And it's kind of dark,

(22:44):
and I mean like literally, you know dark, because you
don't want like, for example, I have a blue screen
and a green screen here. So sometimes if I go
on camera, I can control how everything looks, and so
I have to control the lighting. You get the picture.
So I actually did go out a few months ago

(23:05):
and by myself. Well, I say go out, but let's see,
I believe I got this off of Amazon. I bought
myself just a little small light that emulates sunlight. It
just it produces this warm, yellow, soft kind of glow.
And if you go to Amazon or you can go online,

(23:27):
you know, it goes you can look anywhere. I just
type in something like I guess solar, what would you
look for? I forget what I typed in. It was
something like in a sun reproduction light or something I
can't remember. You know, you just mess around, it'll pop

(23:48):
up for you. The AI knows what you're thinking. But
you don't necessarily have to get like a UV light,
because UV lights, like legitimate UV lights, can be very dangerous,
a very bright UV light and you're not supposed to
look at it. But even with goggles on, I had
my face around it one time and got a sunburn.

(24:10):
So you don't necessarily need a UV light, but just
something that kind of gives you that that sunny sunny
light impression. And so yeah, you just type in something like,
you know, indoor sunlight, it'll pop up for you. But
better yet, is the next tip open the shades. You see,

(24:35):
this is why my life is always an exception because
I can't open the shades in the studio, but you
can possibly in your house. It says if you don't
have access to a light box, well, the simple act
of letting in some sunlight can brighten your mood. When
your workspace or living area is brighter, you tend to
feel happier, So I would prefer to do that instead

(24:59):
of the light box. Better yet, is the next tip?
Go outside? This just becomes more and more simple and stupid,
doesn't it. Starting to fill down? Well, just head outside,
soak up some sunshine. So it goes from you can

(25:19):
turn on a big flashlight in your room to you
can open the shades to just go outside. Starting to
fill down, head outside to soak up some sunshine. The
human body produces vitamin D when exposed to the sun's rays,
and research suggests that people who are deficient in the
vitamin are more likely to be depressed, anxious, and tired.

(25:42):
Step into the sunshine for twenty to twenty five minutes
of sunlight to lighten your mood naturally. Speaking of vitamin D,
I will tell you that because that I am fair skinned,
and I've spent a lot of time out in the
sun living in the Caribbean and stuff like that, I mean,
I got to be kind of careful living here in

(26:02):
Las Vegas because I don't want to get skin cancer.
So I actually do take a vitamin D supplement every day.
And I know people a lot of people who say
that they take a strong vitamin D supplement every day
and they never get sick. So if you're not able
to go outside as much as you want, to for

(26:23):
whatever reason. You know, keep that in mind. But guess
what when we come back from this break, the next
tip is eat mushrooms. What are they talking about exactly? Well,
I'll explain. And then the next tip is actually something
that is really cool, and I can give you some

(26:45):
ideas on how you can pull that one off. I'm
Joshua Pee Warren. You're listening to Strange Things on the
iHeartRadio and Coast to Coast AM Paranormal Podcast Network, and
I will be back after these important message Just keep

(27:07):
it here on the iHeart Radio and Coast to Coast
AM Paranormal Podcast Network. The Wizard of Weird will be
right back. Hi.

Speaker 4 (27:21):
I'm Sandra Champlain. Please make sure and check out my
show Shades of the Afterlife, heard right here on the
iHeart Radio and Coast to Coast AM Paranormal Podcast Network.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
You're listening to the iHeart Radio and Coast to Coast
AM Paranormal Podcast Network.

Speaker 1 (28:08):
Welcome back to Strange Things on the iHeartRadio and Coast
to Coast AM Parahinormal Podcast Network. I'm your host, Joshua P. Warren,
and this is the show where the unusual becomes usual.
I'm going over a list of easy happiness hacks according

(28:32):
to scientists I think, originally published at health dot com.
Next on the list, we have here eat some mushrooms.
You know, I love mushrooms. And now look, we're not
talking like cowpasture, it says, A surprising source of vitamin D.

(28:54):
Back to vitamin D again, mushrooms. The tasty vegetab is
the only plant source of natural vitamin D, and foods
that contain vitamin D boost serotonin in the brain, putting
you in a better mood. It's easy to increase your
intake vitamin D this way. Throw some mushrooms into your
breakfast omelets or lunchtime salads. It's kind of funny. I

(29:17):
never really thought of mushrooms as vegetables. I just think
of the you know, fung guy. But yeah, I love
a mushroom. I don't like these big, huge, fat, slimy,
thick mushrooms, but you know, normal normal size little pieces
and stems and slices and stuff like that. And they're

(29:39):
actually quite easy to grow. I have grown. I think, oh,
I got a kit that I believe it was like
oyster mushrooms, very easy and fun to grow in your house.
And then eat them. Those weren't very tasty, I don't believe.
But still, so there you go Vitamin D. Everybody says
that that can change your life. Next we have try meditation,

(30:05):
says good news. Meditation is a proven stress buster with
no harmful side effects. Studies have shown that it benefits.
Let's see. The benefits range from pain reduction to lower
blood pressure, all the happiness chemicals. You know. Here's the thing.
I have never been naturally into meditation. Now. Granted, I

(30:32):
zone out sometimes when certain people are talking. Maybe maybe
that's a tip, like make a boring friend. You will
learn how to meditate that instantaneous automatic meditation friend. But

(30:55):
you know, I know some people they just naturally zone
out on their own. And that's sort of what meditation is,
is sort of zoning out because I guess you're just
sort of relaxing everything. That has never been easy for
me because my brain is always racing. You can tell,
you know, that's how you can do a podcast like
this where you just sit down and talk. It was

(31:17):
hardly a moment of silence on the in front of
the microphone here. But here's a trick that I learned,
and I think this is so simple. But if you know,
if you're one of these people who has heard about
meditation your whole life, and I did a whole podcast
about meditation, I think, and with some tips and tricks.

(31:39):
But this is one of the easiest things that I found.
So I went to I think it was Amazon, and
for like fifteen dollars, I bought this set of little
hour glasses that are timers, you know, like a egg timer.
So one of the hourglasses has sand that takes one

(32:00):
minute to get from top to bottom, and the other
takes three minutes, and then then the next one takes
five minutes, and then ten minutes, and then fifteen minutes
in the thirty minutes. So what I would do is
I would take this little hour glass and whenever I
felt like I needed to take a moment, take a

(32:21):
beat in my life, I would take the one minute
one and just flip it over and just stare at it.
Don't You don't have to think about anything unless you
want to. It's cool if you do take that moment
to breathe in and out, and maybe you have a
mantra that you repeat whatever, but you're just watching that
sand fall from top to bottom for one minute and

(32:41):
then you go back to what you're doing. If you
get to where you really enjoy that, well, then you
can move to the three minute hourglass and do it
a little bit longer, and you know, you might eventually
work your way up to the thirty minute hourglass, or
you might just find like, okay, three is enough or

(33:02):
one is enough. But you find, you know, that point
where you're like, this is enough meditation for me, because
there comes a point where if your brain's too busy,
you just can't meditate anymore. The brain will say, Okay,
that's enough, I think. But that's a very simple tip
for you. I don't even know if these are still

(33:24):
available on Amazon, but again for like fifteen bucks, and
even if you don't get a whole set, you know,
just start with one of these little hourglasses. Just go
and you know, do a search for something like hourglass,
sand glass timer, you know that kind of thing, and
you'll you'll find it easy way to get into meditation.

(33:45):
Next is smell the oranges. Citrus sense such as orange, lemon,
and grapefruit bring out positive chemical reactions in your brain
and they ease stress. So all right, and it says
even like you know, if you have some So just
some scent, some orange scent that supposedly helps. I don't
think I would like that. I'm not a big fan

(34:07):
of the orange scent thing. But that's what they're saying.
Next is eat carbs. You don't hear that enough to
eat carbs as an afternoon snack. You know that afternoon
mood slump that hits it just the worst time. Well,
it turns out that you can eat your way to
a happier, more energized afternoon with carbs. For years, we've

(34:27):
been hearing that we should avoid carbs, but in reality,
a low carb diet can make us feel sad and stressed.
Carbohydrates actually boost mood boosting chemicals in the brain. So,
but you need to focus on healthy whole grain sources.
So they say, like an afternoon snack of twenty five

(34:48):
to thirty grams, like a three quarter cup serving of cheerios.
Now you know, if you hear carbs and you're like, okay,
now what are carbs again? Because you get all these
dietary urns. I was thrown at you all the time.
So I went to web MD here and they say
that carbs are starches, sugars, and fibers found in grains, vegetables, fruit,

(35:11):
and dairy products. So here are some examples they give
of carbs at WebMD dot com. They say a pretzel
is a carb sugary cereal, So that goes back to
the cheerios thing, canned fruit, donuts, soda, potato chips and

(35:37):
corn chips, gummy candy, French fries, so fun stuff, you know.
I think that's what they're saying. It's like, give yourself
a little fun reward in the afternoon. I think that's
the one tip we will all be following now right.

(35:58):
Next is play with your pet. So if you have
a dog or a cat. But it's kind of sad
that you have to tell people like, hey, play with
your pet. It's like, why do you have the pet
if you're not gonna play with it. That's but you know,
they say, just if you just play with a pet

(36:19):
for fifteen minutes, it's gonna help you out here. If
you let me put it this way, If you have
a pet and you're not playing with it, I the
Great and Terrible Joshua P. Warren, I am telling you
go play with your pet. Next is take micro breaks.
Research shows the people who take quick breaks during their
work day to watch funny videos online, get a high

(36:42):
emotional payoff, and report feeling more energetic and happy with
fewer negative emotions. Okay. Next is add turmeric to your mill.
In America, some people call it turmeric, but I think
it's supposed to be called turmeric, and it has natural

(37:03):
antidepressant qualities, and it can also help with well rheumatoid arthritis,
osteo arthritis, other inflammatory conditions. I know that when I
was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, they said take turmeric, so
I take as much of it as I can. Next
is listen to music so that should you know what.

(37:25):
It's easy, too easy to forget that one, but you
really should listen to music that makes you, you know,
you feel pumped, you know. Don't listen to sad stuff,
even if you like it, even if you like a
sad song for the purpose of a happiness hack and
getting out of her rut. You know, don't listen to

(37:45):
like he stop loving her today, you know. I mean,
it's a great song, but don't listen to it. And
it says sing along. Supposedly, if you sing along to
music that is happy, then that makes you happier. Next
is eat chocolate. I don't think I need to go

(38:08):
into that one anymore. Next is drink coffee. They say
that people who drink coffee regularly, and we're talking like,
you know, a couple of cups a day, we're at
a fifteen percent lower risk of depression. If you're going
to do that, I recommend you go to the Joshua

(38:31):
Warren brand Close Encountercoffees dot com Close Encountercoffees dot Com
and maybe have some of the Close Encounter coffee or
the Banshee Brew or the Bigfooter Brew. That'll make you
real happy and I'll be happy too. Next is sip

(38:52):
on some green tea. Next is make a human connection,
so get away from that screen, just having you know,
some kind of interaction with the real human. Next is
consume healthy fats so you know you can look up

(39:12):
what a healthy fat is. Eat more salmon. I don't
care for salmon. I like other types of fish, but
they say that helps. And last on this list is
Saint John's wart, which is an herb. Okay, when we
come back from this break, I'm going to give you
some metaphysical tips that I think will help in this department.

(39:36):
And then after all this talk of feeling good, I'm
going to play for you the sound of one thousand
Warriors blowing the Aztec death whistle. I'm Joshua P. Warren.

And now back to Joshua P. Warren and Strange Things.

Speaker 1 (41:03):
Welcome back to the final segment of this edition of
Strange Things on the iHeartRadio and Coast to Coast AM
Paranormal Podcast Network. I'm your host, Joshua P. Warren. And
when we look into happiness hacks, we talk a lot,
of course on this show about manifestation techniques. Whether you

(41:28):
are using a wishing machine or a miraculous prayer board
or simple affirmations, there are all kinds of different methods
to focus on making your life better. And you might think, well,
if I just instead of like wishing for a certain
thing or try to manifest a certain thing, if I

(41:50):
just wish to be happy, then everything else should fall
into place. Right. Well, theoretically yes, yes, But the real
issue is that sometimes happiness is just too broad and general.
And so sometimes when you want to accomplish a specific

(42:13):
task at a certain time, you have to condense your
effort down to a pinpoint and focus everything on that
one thing you want to happen. So you have to
balance it. If you have a certain thing that you
need to accomplish, then that is what you should focus

(42:33):
all of your manifestation tools toward. Otherwise you should sort
of just tune everything to general happiness. But then, well
what is that? And I've talked about this before, Like
one time I was doing a program and a woman said,
I want to be happy? Do I? Just like she
has a she had a wishing machine. She goes, do
I just write happy on a piece of paper and

(42:55):
put that on the input plate? And I said, no,
that's not going to work, because that's just a word.
So whenever you want to manifest happiness using some metaphysical
tool or technique, you need to find a moment in
your life that represents happiness to you, such as I

(43:17):
mean something simple eating an ice cream cone for me,
and might be a moment snorkeling around a colorful reef,
or maybe just you know, hugging someone you love. I mean,
just find a moment that represents happiness to you, and
then you want to represent that moment somehow by writing

(43:38):
a description or having a memento from that moment that
you put into your device or your tool and just
try to resonate that frequency. And that's how you manifest
happiness in general. And you know, again, if you do it,

(44:00):
everything doesn't always fall into place, so sometimes you have
to switch it up. But now, if you are going
to on a daily basis, try to say place like
some type of reminders around affirmations around those things, they
wear out and they get old after a while. And

(44:22):
so another tip I always love to give people is
if you're going to put affirmations that make you think
positively or feel positively, you need to take also whatever
calendar that you use that you live your life by,
whether it's on your phone or if you're old fashioned,
then you just have you know, your little black book
and your pen, make a note at least every two

(44:44):
weeks on your calendar to move your affirmations to a
new spot. Because in doing so you're adding energy by
going and physically changing where they are. And it also
changes the way that that you respond because you're always
more surprised when you see them, and it gives them

(45:05):
that refreshed filling. And of course the last thing, especially
if you're struggling with money, is you know what if
you give to charity anonymously, even if it's just five bucks,
that will start the flow of energy in your life
that will bring money to you. And you know, there's

(45:26):
a whole big philosophy behind that concept. And if you
want to know more about it, go to my website,
moneymiraclesecret dot com. There's a free ebook, free audiobook. It's short,
it's easy to understand. Go to moneymiraclesecret dot com and
take the information there and it will help you to

(45:47):
learn about the process of how and why that giving,
especially if it's done in a fun, secretive, anonymous way,
starts the flow of money energy coming back to you. So, hey,
maybe at least one of those tips will help you.
You don't have to do all of them. Maybe one

(46:08):
thing in this show will help you. And now before
we end the show, let's switch to what I did
to recreate the sound of one thousand warriors running at
you playing the Aztec death whistle. Now again, this is
a whistle that was used in several zones of ancient Mexica,

(46:29):
as they call it, which mimics the sound of a
horrifying animal like screeching, which was thought to be used
in warfare to scare away victims. And basically the Spanish
conquistadors wrote about the Aztecs running into battle and playing
all of these like you know, crazy sounding instruments more

(46:53):
or less. And in fact, if you go to HowStuffWorks
dot com, they say buried beneath the streets and plazas
of modern day Mexico City are the ruins of ancient
Aztec temples, where human sacrifices were routinely performed to appease
the gods. In the late nineteen nineties, while excavating a

(47:14):
circular temple dedicated to Hikatl, the Aztec wind god, archaeologists
uncovered the remains of a twenty year old boy, beheaded
and squatting at the base of the temple's main stairway.
What made the Mexico City discovery so remarkable was that
the skeleton of the human sacrifice was found clutching a

(47:35):
pair of musical instruments in each hand. They were small
ceramic whistles decorated with a menacing skull's face. The archaeologists
realized the skull image represented Mictlancouli. I'm probably not saying
that right, the Aztec god of the underworld and death itself.
And from there they began to extrapolate how these whistles

(48:00):
were used. Okay, so I got an Aztec death whistle
replica and I played it one time before on this show,
just by itself. And then I took a recording of
that whistle and I played it. Okay, I duplicated that
recording like five times, and I offset it a little

(48:21):
bit each time so it wouldn't be playing it identically
like the same time. And then I took those five
and turned them into ten, and I took those ten
and I turned them into fifty. And I kept doing
this until I built this up to one thousand copies.
So here is the sound of one thousand of these
whistles being played, all slightly offset to give you maybe

(48:47):
some kind of an impression of what it would sound
like if a thousand warriors were rushing at you. At
once blowing this terrible instrument of doom. Are you ready?
Here we go three to one. Now I'm going to

(49:21):
play that again for you in a moment. But one
thing that's interesting about it is when I played this
for my wife Laurence, she goes, it's weird because she goes,
it doesn't sound like it's offset. It kind of sounds
like just one big whistle for the most part. And
I said, yeah, I guess that is because that the
sound that it makes is actually a very consistent repeating sound.

(49:45):
So even when you offset it, each instrument kind of
still reinforces each other instrument. And I was reading about
this and they say that they discovered the Aztec death
whistles were a type of quote air spring whistle, first
invented by the Mayans around seven hundred to eight hundred CE.

(50:06):
When air is blown through the intake tube, it interacts
with a well or spring of air inside a rounded
internal chamber, creating distortions. So like, I don't know what
all that means, but apparently you know there is some
kind of a consistency there, like a certain I mean,

(50:26):
you think of a spring and you think of it
like coiling up and then and then you know, releasing
and coiling and releasing. So okay, here we go. Now
that you know what to expect one more time, here
is the sound of a thousand warriors best I can
come up with, all raging in the battle playing the
Aztec death whistle. There you go. And if you were

(51:04):
trying to go to sleep, sorry, you are going to
be up for a while. And now let's end the
show with a much more pleasant and prosperous tone, shall we.
You know what I'm talking about. It's exclusive to this program.
Take a deep breath if you can close your eyes,
because everybody loves to hear at least once a week

(51:28):
the good Fortune tone. Yes, meditate on this sound. Now
