Speaker 1 (00:00):
Let us pray. I beseech you, therefore, brethren, by the
mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living
sacrifice wholly acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service
Romans twelve. One. Father, when I accepted your son Jesus,
he became my Lord and savior. I surrendered my life
(00:24):
to him, and he lives in my heart. I pray
you will show me how to keep myself pure and undefiled.
As I offer myself to serve you all the days
of my life. It is no longer I that live,
but You in me. It continues to amaze me when
I realize how your life flows through me. I know
(00:48):
it is you because I would never think to say
some of the things that I hear myself say. What
an honor for you to find me worthy to use
for your purposes. I pray I will always be acceptable
in your sight. Amen. Thank you for listening to today's
Daily Prayer. For more inspiration and an incredible message from

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Hi and Samantha Taylor, Welcome to Divine Life Transformation. This
is the radio show where we go over how to
transform your life through the Bible and a relationship with
Christ and strengthening your relationship with God. Now, if you're
new to my show, I have a radio show every
Saturday morning as well as a TV show on Pray
(01:45):
and I take you into some epic sceneries. We've been
to New Zealand, got dropped off by a helicopter and
just take you out in the nature and talk about God.
I like to involve God's amazing creation while well, I'm
showing you the things that He's showed me how to
change your life through the Bible. I get really excited
(02:06):
about this topic because God has completely transformed my life
through the Bible, and I know that I am called
to share the amazing good news that He's done in
my own life. That can be the same thing for you.
So no matter what it is you need help with,
God can help you. And it is amazing to just
know that. And last thing I want to mention, I
(02:28):
have actually been studying the Bible pretty intensely for the
last twenty five years. I have been going into the
derivatives of the words when I study, and God has
literally transformed my life through the Word of God. So
let's get into it, it's a divine one because it's
God guiding it. It's not you doing it, it's God
(02:49):
guiding it. And you're having a transformation in life because
you went from not knowing God, not knowing God's ways,
to now actually following after God. So this is where
you find that balance that you can know how to
transform in the ways of God. And that's why it
was named that show. It's all about transformation and helping
(03:11):
you guys learn how do you think different, how do
you act different? How do you see your behavior change?
So when you ask yourself, well, what really is a
divine life transformation? Part of it is starting off with
not following the world's system. So the world system is
only do what makes you happy, what gives you pleasure.
(03:31):
The point is the world system is not followed on
God's system. So when you want to follow a life
after God, it's following how do I actually live in
a way that lines up with the ways of the Bible,
And the world system is ways that can be more
destructive to you instead of following God's ways. So Romans
twelve one through two talks about that to not be
(03:53):
conformed to the pattern of this world, but be transformed
and the renewing of your mind. So I want you
to ask yourself, what is it that you're struggling with?
Is there anything that in your life You're like, Man,
this is one area that I'm really struggling with. This
is one area that I am still battling with that
I thought I had overcome, or I still take to
(04:15):
God in prayer, or I find that it comes back
like I deal with it and I have success, and
then I keep struggling. So these are things to ask yourself, like,
where do you struggle? What are you still struggling with
in your life? And what is it that you need
to expose in the light where the Bible talks about
The Word is like a lamp to your feet that
(04:37):
it lights where you need to step. So when you're
trying to figure out where you're going in your life
and how you're doing things, you always want to get
the light to shine on it from the Word of God.
What is the Bible to say about this? How does
the Bible talk about self control and walking through this
stuff as the new creation that you are? When it
says that we are a new creation in Christ, what
(04:58):
does that mean? And I literally spent the house on
mat I as a friend of mine and she's out
of town, and she let me stay here when she
was gone. I've been here for like four or five days,
and I was spending literally like ten to twelve hours
a day diving into the Bible. And it was so
funny because when I was writing the pilot, I thought
I'd be like thinking about all the things I've learned
and how to organize it on what I was going
(05:20):
to talk about. No, God took me into the Bible
for like ten hours a day for four days, and
I mean, I'm talking like it was the most awesome
scavenger hunt, if you will, of finding all these scriptures
and tying them together. And one of the things that
I was highly focused on was what does it mean
to be a new creation? And what is the difference
(05:40):
between being transformed by the renewing of your mind? If
we're a new creation, then why do we need to
be transformed? And I wanted to have answers in the
Bible to answer this question. So I just kept going
scripture after scripture, praying, crying, journaling, Like God was just
showing me so many things that I had not even
(06:01):
seen before. So it just started diving in. What does
it mean to be born again? That word born again,
That word again actually means born from above. That you
actually have to be born spiritually. And when that happens,
now there is a process. So you are now a
new creation in Christ. You are spiritually new. You are
(06:24):
born from God. You are born from above, but you
live in a human body. So now you have this
eternal spirit that lives in a human body. And this
human body does have animalistic natures. The Bible calls the flesh.
When you look at the original derivative that word, it
actually means an animalistic nature. So it has cravings, it
(06:48):
has desires, it has things that are more animalistic in nature.
But we have a soul, will, mind, and emotions. The
soul is different from the spirit. The Bible separates those two.
So the soul is like your mind, will and emotions
that houses your memories, your experiences, your thoughts. All of
(07:10):
those things did not just change overnight immediately. This is
where I feel like the process starts to happen, the
transformation starts to happen. You are spiritually born new, You're
born again because you're born twice. But now there's a
transformation that Romans twelve one through two talks about that
there's a transformation of the renewing of your mind. So
(07:34):
you get born again, there's that beginning foundation, which is
the start of the whole thing. But if you don't
grow up and the transforming of your mind, then you're
not going to mature as a Christian as much. It
doesn't mean you're not a Christian. And this is where
the understanding of it doesn't mean you're not still going
to heaven. I believe and the Bible does support this,
(07:57):
that once you become born again and you are a
child of God, you don't go in and out of
being a child of God like, oh, whoops, you did
something bad that day. And then some denominations preach that
that you can lose your salvation and gain it, and
lose your salvation and gain it. One of the armors
of God is a helmet of salvation. I believe he
(08:17):
calls that the helmet of salvation because it protects your
mind too of knowing that you are a child of God.
You don't go in and out of you being a
child of God. So there's solace and understanding that and
knowing that. But where is that process that the mind
becomes transformed and renewed. So we're going to dive into
(08:38):
some more of those scriptures today and talk about that
because there's a difference of maturing in your relationship with
God and growing in your relationship with God and now
you're actually living out the ways of God. So again,
you can become born again and go to Heaven, but
you're not mature in the ways of God. And the
(08:58):
Bible talks about those differences. It talks about us being
more mature. It talks about us being babes infants. They're
the one scripture I'm going to point out to you
as it says that we are infants. New Christians, new
Believers are called infants in the Word of God. I
believe because it's our mind, will and emotions that must
(09:18):
grow up. The spirit is just righteous and wholly and
pure because of Christ. And again I'm diving deep into
these scriptures, but even the years of studying this sin,
I believe that that is the truth that the spirit,
once that becomes born again, that is made righteous, just
holy and pure because of Jesus Christ. That was the
(09:43):
price that was paid at the cross, that he took
on the sin. So where's the process of you growing up?
Where's the process of you maturing in the ways of God.
This is where I believe the Bible also supports that
we grow up and mature in the ways of God,
that we actually it says that we can only drink
(10:04):
milk as an infant in the word infant Christian, we're
a baby Christian. That as we mature we can handle meat.
So little babies don't consume meat. They have milk right
when they're you know, the mother is nursing them. They
just have milk for the first year or however long
that amount of time is. So the Bible says it
(10:26):
like that too. And that's when you think about, Okay,
when you were born onto this earth, you didn't have
anything to do with that. You just showed up and
there you are. You didn't have anything to do with
you know, putting your spirit in the body. God did that.
So your born again experience is the same thing. The
Bible says that grace of God have we been saved.
(10:47):
It is by the grace of God. So no man
can boast about their works of oh yeah I did this,
I got this, I'm in this family. No, it is
a gift of God. You didn't have anything to do
with Christ going to the cross and paying the price
for the sins of the world. The Bible says, so
when you think about that, okay, so now I'm a
(11:09):
new baby, if you will, in my spiritual walk, I
was now maybe okay, so I'm forty nine. I'm forty
nine in my earthly body, but my spirit I was
born again twenty nine years ago on April sixteenth. So
my spirit is twenty nine. If you think about it
that way, that my body and my mind has had
(11:31):
to align with that. And I believe that this is
the balance, the delicate balance of the process of transformation
as you become more in tune to understanding that you
are an eternal spirit that lives inside of a temporal body.
So this eternal spirit, once it becomes born again, it
(11:52):
is now alive to God. It is now alive to
the ways of God. It is now aware of the
things of God than before we worked right before we
knew Christ and before we had that conversion, that we
now are born into the family of God, into the
spirit of God family, that our spirit has been born,
that we weren't aware of any of those things, but
(12:14):
then you add the other component. The Bible says that
when we do have that moment of experience, then now
the Holy Spirit lives inside of us. So not only
do we have the experience that our spirit, our spirit
within us that God created is now born from above,
(12:35):
but now the Holy Spirit, the creator, God himself, lives
within this temple. That's why it's called a temple. And
this is this is an understanding that if we don't
know these things from a Christian perspective, and we don't
understand what this is relative to our faith, then we
don't really know what it means to be a Christian.
(12:58):
I mean, think about it. If you don't really understand
what these things are, what does it even mean to
be born again? Oh? Well, so the spirit of God
lives inside of me, Like, what does that mean to
be a temple? Those are foundations of understanding biblically what
it means to be a Christian also christ like, and
what it means to live in the Kingdom of God.
(13:19):
The Bible says that even though you have an eternal
spirit that will be in heaven, it also says that
we are seated in heaven right now at the same time,
but it does say that we are dually in Heaven
in eternity and we are on this earth in this body.
So this is where when we think about, well, what
(13:40):
does that process and what does that process look like
for you as a believer, and how does that affect
your behavior? How does that affect your like, how does
that affect your thinking? How does that affect your choices
that you make? Because remember now that your spirit is new,
You're a new creation in Christ. That word that says
(14:01):
a new creature in Christ, it also means creation. So
why are you a new creation? Because your spirit is
born now to this Kingdom of God. You are now
in the family of God. And that's the part that
it's just so amazing when you start to see that
(14:21):
a little bit more and understand it more spiritually of
what that means. So one of the things I think
about is the new creation in Christ. You have a
new nature. So the spirit is what is driving you.
That's what you want now. You don't want your flesh
driving you. Before you are not born again and you
are not born from above. Your flesh drove you. Your
(14:44):
mind drove you, your feelings, your thoughts, your whatever you wanted
to do your memories. Everything that your life was was
represented in all of the things that made you up
to who you are at that moment, and who you
are at that moment before you meet Christ. All the
things you went through formed and shaped you to who
(15:06):
you were at that moment. So now that you become
born of the spirits, all of those memories and experiences
that you've had, all of those brain thought patterns that
you've developed over thirty, forty, fifty, sixty years, whatever age
you are, those are not born again. Your brain is
not born again, your memories are not born again. And
(15:29):
this is why I was diving into the Bible for
four or five days straight because I wanted to be
able to understand this scripturally and be able to explain
this scripturally, because if you can't back it up in
the Bible, then that is not something that I believe
should be taught because it's not there's no proof of
it in the Bible. So it's something that when you
think about it's like, okay, so how does my mind
(15:52):
become transformed by the renewing of it? So that word
renewing means renovation, and that word renovation, so if you
ever think about gutting out a kitchen in your house.
Let's say you wanted to renovate your house. You have
to gut out what's there. You need a new plan
of what you're going to put in, and you need
to install the new kitchen. So think of that like
(16:14):
that with your mind. The mind is like that. So
your old kitchen in your brain is your old ways
of thinking, the old patterns in your mind, the ways
you used to do things. Lack of self control doesn't
even matter. Just do whatever you want, whatever makes you
feel good. That's not the ways of God. It's not
that we can't have pleasure and enjoyment, but there's very
(16:35):
fine lines between your flesh running you and it becoming idolatry.
So these are the things that we think about. We think, well,
how does that work? How does it actually work that
I renovate my mind? Well, you have to gut out
the old to put in the new. You've got to
get rid of the old. Well, part of that is
(16:56):
recognizing what the old is. What are the force ways
that you used to think before Christ? And there's many
scriptures that actually talk about this. It talks about your
former conduct, your former behavior. It talks about putting off
your old ways. It talks about putting on your new ways.
There's a scripture that says to put off your old
(17:17):
ways being renewed in the spirit of your mind, and
to put on the things of Christ. If you want
a way to get a more detailed list of scriptures
to study, like a PDF that you can print out
and have to have as a resource. Text the word
divine Life to the number five eight six, five hundred
(17:38):
seven three three three. I'll give this again at the end. Well,
that was talking to believers. That scripture was talking to believers,
So he was telling people that were already born again
to put off the former things so those didn't just
fall off of them when they became a believer, that
they had to be renewed by the spirit of their
(18:00):
mind to put on the ways of Christ. And those
are the things that I am just diving in to
truly understand this, because you better believe there's going to
be a book I'm writing about this, This being my
first book that I write that I believe will help
a lot of people really understand this part of their faith,
understand what this truly means on how to be transformed
(18:23):
but the show is a lot about this as well.
So this is where talking this out and understanding how
does my brain become renovated, How does my mind become renovated,
How does my will become renovated? Well, your spirit that
is now born again, that is born of God. You
have a new nature. You are a new creation. That
(18:46):
is what influences your mind. That is what influences your thinking,
your mindset, your perception. You're judging your choices that you make.
You want that to be driven by the spirit. But
the beautiful thing is it's not just your spirit that
is pure, holy, righteous and just because of what Christ
(19:07):
has done. But now you have the Spirit of God
living inside of you. That the Bible says that the
Holy Spirit is our guide, He is our comforter. He
gives us instruction of life, tells us things, helps instruct us.
So now not only do you have your spirit that
is born of God, but now you have the Spirit
(19:29):
of God, the Holy Spirit, living withinside of you. This
also guides you, instructs you, and helps transform you. There's
another scripture that talks about that. It is the regeneration
of the Holy Spirit that is what changes us. So
there's many scriptures, and again I'm tying all these together
(19:51):
into the deep studies that I've been doing. But there's
many scriptures that talk about these things about being regenerated
in ourselves, but they're talking to believers. So again, these
people have already had a born again experience, that they
believe that Jesus Christ died for their sins and that
(20:12):
they are sinners without him, and that when they believe
that Christ died for their sins and they repent of
their sins and they now have accepted and received the
free gift that God gave them, they are now made pure, holy, righteous,
And just all of the scriptures that address believers after
(20:33):
they've been converted does not call them sinners anymore. So
this is a part of doctrine that's important to understand too,
because we're not just sinners that are saved by grace.
We were a sinner that was saved by grace, but
we are not sinners anymore from the Bible's perspective. So
this is where it's very interesting because now, remember, is
(20:56):
a sinner someone that is a child of God that
lives in heaven. Duly, No, that's what the whole point
of Jesus Christ paying the prist for it, and I
hope light bulbs are going off, going Oh okay. The
Bible says that we are righteous, wholly just, and pure
once we become born again, and that is because of Christ,
(21:20):
of nothing that we have done. Now we are not
called sinners anymore. Does that mean we don't sin? Absolutely not.
It does mean we still struggle with sin. But the
Bible is very clear in many places that it says
that when Christ was crucified and raised from the dead,
that that actually made our flesh dead as well, that
we were crucified with him, that we also raised from
(21:43):
the dead for what he did. And again that is
a very deep scriptural spiritual understanding to tie the scriptures
and understand what they mean and what God was saying
in that. But this is why I've been on this
journey of discovering what this means. Because if we are
a new creation in Christ and all old things have
(22:06):
passed away and I'm now a child of God, why
does my body want to sin? Why does my body
want what's not good for it? Why does my body
want to choose things that are not good for it?
And how do I bring it under subjection to line
it up with the ways of God. So these are
the things that I've been asking in the studies that
(22:27):
I've been doing. When you think, so, how do I
navigate through this process? How do I walk in my transformation? More,
the Bible talks in many places about walking in the
ways of God. That word walk is a series of steps.
Walking is not one step. It's not one choice you
made to make a better choice that day. No, it's
(22:50):
a series of steps that takes you on a path
that gets you into an end destination. So when you
think about the Bible that talks about walking in the
way of the spirit, you will want the ways of
the spirit. Walk in the ways of the flesh, and
you will want the ways of the flesh. So this
is where the Bible talks about these things being different,
(23:12):
and he's speaking to believers. So we've already had a
born again conversion, We've already been born of God. Now
we have to walk in the ways of God. We
have to walk this out in our life that we
are choosing by the spirit of God, the guidance of God,
but also submission. This is again another area that I
(23:33):
really am studying deep on the will what is the
difference between our will that God has given us and
following after his ways when he's the one that does
the finished work. These are things that I ask questions
because I want to know scripturally and spiritually what this means,
and how do we actually navigate through these things? Because
(23:54):
it's not of our works. The gift of God is
a free gift of God, So no can boast about, oh, gee,
I did so many good works to get myself into heaven.
That's not what the Bible talks about. But it does
say we were created for good works, so it talks
about show me your faith, buy your works. How do
(24:16):
you truly know if you're born again? You know, that's
a question to ask yourself. How do I know if
I'm born again? Well, if you didn't have a conversion
with God, with Christ and the things that I've spoken
about earlier, but you didn't start to see a new
nature happen that you didn't have any thoughts change, You
had no concern sinning and doing the same sins you
(24:39):
did before you met Christ. You had no issues doing
things that were just not of God, and you know
they're not of God, but yet you completely ignore the
fact that they are and you don't have any issue
with it, meaning you just sin and it's no big deal.
That would be a sign that maybe you did not
become born again, because part of being born again is
(25:00):
a new nature. You are a new creation now when
you go through a process, Absolutely you're not going to
change everything overnight. I've been very open with you guys
that when I got born again on April sixteen, twenty
nine years ago, I went through a process that we
cleaned up our life, got off drugs, changed so many
parts of our life, but we got back into drugs,
(25:23):
so I was still a Christian. I still had not
renewed my mind though, and transformed my mind to be
not following those ways. But you can guarantee I felt
more guilty about it. It was an issue for me.
It was not something that I just did it and
be like, oh, well it doesn't matter. No. I knew
it mattered, but I was struggling with the sin that
(25:44):
I was struggling with. Does that mean I was a sinner? No,
because that's an identity. I wasn't a sinner because I
was righteous, wholly and pure and just by my spirit.
But my human side of me, well, from my thought,
my will, my mind, emotions were reverting back to old
behaviors of drug addiction. And it was by the grace
(26:05):
of God that he finally got ahold of me again
and I finally submitted, and I once it hit and
God showed it to me, and I was like, I
am done, by the grace of God, had never gone
back to drugs. And that was over twenty five years ago.
So I was a drug addict for ten years, probably
closer to fifteen. I'd have to look up the numbers,
(26:27):
because I started doing drugs when I was in seventh grade.
So this is where I'm very open and transparent about
these things, because it's very helpful for you to know.
When I talked to you about this transformation stuff, it's
not just some scriptures I read in the Bible. I mean,
I was so struggling in my life that it is
(26:47):
a miracle that I'm alive, and it is a miracle
that my brain is not destroyed from the amount of
drugs that I did, and that I did not die
from the amount of overdoses that I almost had. So
this is where it's important for you to know these
things that it's not just some idea that I have
about what it means to transform your mind. And I'm
(27:08):
talking about like a serious life transformation. And God has
done it in me. And when he finally you know,
he got ahold of me. But also when I submitted,
because there is that part of that free will. You
can fight God. If you say no, God, I don't
want what you have for me, I'm not following you.
I don't want that. That's a free will. You do
(27:29):
have a free will. We are not robots. Part of
love is free will. If you don't have a free
will to love, then that's not truly love. Because love
is desiring to care for someone, desiring to want them.
That you want that person, you love them, you are
choosing to love them as well. And this is where
(27:50):
the interesting part comes in that God is the only
one that can open our eyes to be able to
see that love for him. Even in the scriptures it
says that old man can come to Christ except if
he's called by God. So we didn't just find God
one day. We actually responded to God calling us. And
there are so many scriptures that talk about that that
(28:12):
he's the one that woos us, He's the one that
calls us, and all of a sudden, you finally respond.
Someone invited you to church, you didn't go. You saw
a show on TV, you's got a book that you
read that you know, talked about God, didn't respond, and
then all of a sudden, there's that one moment that
you finally see it. And that's what happened to me
on April sixteenth, twenty nine years ago. So this is
(28:35):
where when we think about that process of how do
you actually transform? So when I did go back to
drugs after I became born again, doesn't mean my spirit
wasn't still born again and I wasn't going to heaven.
It does not mean that. What means is that I
was They call it backslidden. I don't believe that word
is in the Bible anywhere, but it does talk about
(28:58):
reverting back to your former ways before you knew Christ.
So that that is backsliding. So this is where we
find those balances, Well what does that mean? And how
how am I putting on the ways of Christ and
taking off my former ways. So there's two main areas
that I saw in my life that I started to
see massive transformation. And the first area was my relationship
(29:22):
with God. So really knowing God, really personally having an
intimate relationship with him. So being born again is the
foundation of that. You can't, truly you can't have a
relationship with your creator without Christ. There's no access to
God the Father without through Jesus Christ. So we're talking
(29:43):
about a holy, righteous God that cannot look upon and
have a relationship with us through sin. That's why Jesus
Christ is the mediator the Bible talks about, and he
actually paved the way for us to be able to
have relationship with our creator. So that's where when you realize, Okay,
(30:04):
so God sees us through Christ. So that's the foundation
of the relationship. That's the foundation of knowing God. But
then as it develops your relationship with him, you spend
time with him, you get to know him, you get
to connect with him. And the Bible is very clear
that God talks to us. Most people don't hear an
(30:24):
audible voice, but it's an internal knowing and it sounds
like your own thought in your mind. When I first
started getting more familiar with this, it was sounded like
my own thoughts speaking to me. Like you know, your
thoughts go through your mind and you're like, oh, that
was a thought, Well, was that actually God speaking to you?
So this is where God taught me over the last
twenty five years, how to be very clear of hearing
(30:48):
his voice. And again it's not an audible voice. I
have never heard the massive audible voice of God. So
there's one or two times that have been stronger than
anything I've ever experienced, but it was not an audible voice.
So when you get to know your creator, you develop
this relationship. You get to know this creator, your God.
(31:10):
And as you become intimate in this relationship, you get
to know his character, his nature more. You start to
understand more who this amazing creator is. And as you
get to know him more, you desire to follow him more.
You want to follow him more, you desire to be
(31:31):
more like him. Christian means christ like, so you actually
want to be more like what the Bible says. And
this is where this relationship starts to develop. So you
become born again, born from above, and that your process
of your free will, that God is the one that
(31:52):
woos you to him, that you admit that you need him,
that you want him, that you want him in your life,
and you want this relationship. As that develops Wow, it
is the most beautiful thing that you could ever imagine.
And I know many of you experience that on a
regular basis, but I have watched such a beautiful experience.
(32:15):
I am talking about such an intimate relationship with God
that it is so beautiful and so caring and so loving.
It just amazes me. So that personal relationship is developed
over time that connection. Think about from a human perspective,
(32:35):
when you fall in love with someone, you get to
know them, you spend time with them. You would not
have developed that relationship and been experiencing love if you
had not developed a relationship over some time, getting to
know that person, spending time with them, learning their ways.
(32:56):
So this is the way that I have noticed for
myself that when I started to trans form Number one,
it was really having a strong relationship with God. And
it started with becoming born from above, with believing that
Jesus Christ paid for my sins and I was now
a believer. Then as my relationship developed with him, I
(33:16):
was more drawn to wanting to be like the Bible
says to be christ Like. I wanted to be like
the Bible talked about. I wanted to align my life
with the ways of God, my new nature, my new desires.
The Bible says we're a new creation, but we must
(33:37):
be renewed in our mind to be transformed. So when
that word renewed means renovation, the word transformed comes from
a word of metamorphosis, which is the same thing from
a butterfly. So when a butterfly cocoon and a caterpillar,
which I did not know this either, that a caterpillar
(34:00):
is actually butterfly eggs. I mean, it's not like the
caterpillar just turns into a butterfly. Maybe you didn't know
this either, but they're actually cat there butterfly eggs that
a butterfly laid, and it's a caterpillar first, and then
it becomes a butterfly. Sadly enough, I did not know
that until I started researching that last year. So it
(34:20):
goes into cocoon and then it turns into a butterfly. Well,
there's a transformation process, and that word transformation means to
go from one form to another. You're transforming from one
form to another, a caterpillar to a butterfly. But yet,
(34:41):
remember that that caterpillar already had the DNA inside of
it to become a butterfly. It was already inside of it,
so as it transformed, it became this butterfly. That word
transform also means an adjustment of parts. So this is
the study that I've been on for the last like
(35:02):
four days. I mean, it was just amazing. I mean
I had so many times and just crying and weeping
and journaling and talking to God and getting answers of
this stuff. And then He's just showing me about this transformation,
that this cocoon is a period of time that the
caterpillar goes inside and the parts of the caterpillar have
(35:24):
to be adjusted to become the butterfly. Well, if that
word transformation being renewed in your mind, to be transformed,
to be in another form, to be metamorphosis like a
caterpillar to a butterfly, to have an adjustment of parts,
(35:45):
what vehicle is that done in the renewing of your mind?
So the renovation of your mind, you're thinking, your patterns,
your behaviors are done through the transformation of adjusting those parts.
And that's when I started dying all these things together.
I'm like, oh, my goodness, that is so awesome. I
(36:08):
was just so encouraged to get scripture after scripture that
was showing me this, So I started asking, okay, so
what is the adjustment of parts? That adjustment is your brain,
your thinking, your will, your mind, your emotions, your behaviors,
your desires to serve God and follow after God in
the ways of God. Do you want to just do
(36:31):
whatever you want and not care what God wants for
your life? Or does your life now line up with saying, Wow, God,
you are my creator and I want to follow after you,
and I want to do what you want me to do.
I want to do what you created me for. And
the beautiful thing is the Bible says that God gives
us the desires of our heart, but you also put
(36:53):
those in us. Think about all the gifts that you
might have that are actually natural, God given gifts that
other people don't have. Maybe you're an amazing photographer, or
you have a beautiful voice. You didn't give yourself that voice.
God gave that to you. So this is where when
we look at that and realize that this whole transformation process,
when He gives us clues that tells us in the
(37:15):
Bible what that means and gives us examples of what
being transformed means, and that it is similar to a
caterpillar going to a butterfly, the adjustment of those parts.
So the first thing, like I mentioned and transformation is having,
of course being born again, a born above experience that
you are now born of God, and developing that relationship,
(37:37):
that time with him, the character, development, the personality you
spend time with him in your prayer, in personal time
with him, communicating with him, and getting to know your creator.
I would say the second area that really transformed me
in my life was really diving into the Bible and
really understanding more what the scripture said and how they
(37:59):
have applied to my life. What does the Bible say
about this? What does the Bible say about our mind,
our will, our emotions, our cravings? You know, what does
the Bible say about how we actually change our life?
That's what the Bible tells us. So getting into the
scriptures and understanding what the Bible says is very different
(38:21):
than just having knowledge of a scripture. So if you
know the scripture and you can memorize it, but if
you don't actually apply it in your life, in your thinking,
to affect your behavior, to transform by the renewing of
your mind. Remember we're renovating. We are renovating the mind.
We're getting all this stuff out that's not of God,
(38:43):
thinking that are not the ways of God, the thinking
of the world. Get that stuff out, and you're in putting.
You're renovating. You're putting in that new kitchen. You're putting
in the new thinking and the new behavior patterns of
the ways of God. And how do you know what
that that is? If you don't get into the Bible,
how do you know what that is? If you don't
(39:04):
spend time with your creator, how do you know what
that is? So this is what we're talking about, is
not only the relationship with God, but understanding what the
Bible says as much as you possibly can, and reading
scriptures to understand more what the Bible speaks about about
every area of our life. I've been studying deeply the Bible,
(39:27):
for I would say, not far after I got born again.
So there was that period where I struggled with drugs,
and that's probably one of the reason why I did right,
because I wasn't reading my Bible much then. But when
I got away from it, you know, those kind of
things that can impact your behavior. But I would say overall,
I've been studying the Bible very intensely for over twenty
(39:50):
five years, probably closer to twenty seven. And when I
say intensely, I mean deep studies like going into the
Hebrew and the Greek and studying for an hour two
hours the average, and hour a day. I mean that's
still the life that I live now, is every morning
and hour a day in the morning with God, because
I know how critical that is, and that might not
(40:10):
be something that you're called to, that might not be
something that's possible in your life right now, but there
needs to be a time that you spend with God.
Maybe it's only ten minutes, and then maybe you grow
in that because I didn't start at an hour, but
there's times where I'll go four or five six hours
because I'm studying and I'm really understanding more about the scriptures.
(40:30):
So knowing more about the Bible, what does it say?
And how do you transform your life through the Bible?
True transformation that Romans twelve one through two talks about
by the renewing of your mind, renovating your mind, restructuring.
That word when you dig deeper also means reversal by
(40:52):
repetition and intensity so I'm like, okay, well, because I
kept wanting to find out, well, how is human behavior
impacted by this and how are we changing by these
things that the Bible says, Well, if renovation goes back
to the original word of repetition with intensity and reversal.
(41:15):
I was about falling off my chair when I saw
that one, because I found that one quite some time ago,
and I'm like, whoa, wait a minute, that's what we
have to do and rethinking how are we rethinking now? Now?
We need to think like Christ. There's another scripture that
talks about that the things that you used to do
before you knew Christ, you became ashamed of if you
(41:36):
did them. Now, like you think about how you used
to live your life, some of us way worse than
others that you look back at you you're like, oh
my goodness, I'm so embarrassed that I actually lived that way,
that I did those things. So these are the things
that I'm talking about, you before Christ and you after Christ.
So that difference of understanding the repetition with intensity and reversal,
(41:59):
how do you actually renovate your mind? Got out the
old put in the new. It tells us to put
off the former ways and put on the ways of Christ.
But between those two statements it says, by the renewing
of the spirit of your mind, so we are to
put off which also means cast aside, and we are
(42:22):
to put on the new ways. We are to put
on the new ways of God. And this is where
it's just so amazing when you can go into the
Bible and find these ways that he talks about. So
in Matthew twenty two twenty nine, these people came up
to him because they were talking to him about something,
and they were asking him questions Jesus, and Jesus said,
(42:44):
you are mistaken because you do not understand the scriptures
and you do not know the power of God. So
Jesus Christ said that to the people asking these questions
about things that happen in heaven afterwards, and he says,
you're mistaken because you don't know the Bible and you
don't know the power of God. So to me, those
are very clear directions of Jesus Christ that we are
(43:08):
to know the word of God, but also to the
most of our ability understand what the power of God is,
to be able to clearly understand this, because if we
don't understand this, then we're not going to be able
to walk it out. We're not going to be able
to walk in the ways of the spirit, because if
we do that, we will want the ways of the Spirit,
(43:29):
and all of a sudden you will start to see
your life transform and you won't even want the old ways.
You won't even think the same way anymore. And if
you've been a believer for quite some time and you've
been maturing in the ways of God, you would say, yeah,
I've seen that happen. I actually am not the same
person that I used to be. I don't think the
same I don't have the same desires. That is a
(43:51):
good thing. That is confirmation that you are born again,
that you have a new nature, that you are a
child of God. And if you have no concern whatsoever
and you do not care about any of that stuff,
then that might be a time to have a real
moment with God and really seek him and pray and
(44:11):
have a conversation with Him about your spirit. Because the
Bible is very clear about eternal life. There is heaven
and eternity, and there is hell an eternity, and those
are just things that are not something to ignore. Because
we are talking about eternity forever. Can't we can't even
(44:32):
wrap our mind around what forever means. I don't think
we can comprehend for a second what that actually truly
means to the level of on this earth for just
a blink of an eye. An eternity is forever to know. End.
So in Tewo Corinthians five seventeenth, you're eighteen, it talks
(44:53):
about being a new creature in Christ. So this is
a scripture that I was talking about, and it says, therefore,
if any man be in Christ, he's a new creature.
Sure all things have passed away. Behold, all things are new,
and all things are of God, who has reconciled us
to himself by Jesus Christ. Remember I talked about how
the Bible says that you cannot get to God except
(45:14):
through Christ. That we've been reconciled to God through Jesus
Christ and is given to us the ministry of reconciliation.
So when you see those scriptures, that's where it's just
so powerful to study these things. It's so powerful to
recondition the mind. This is what we are doing when
(45:35):
we are reading the Bible. We are reconditioning our mind.
We are reconditioning our behavior. We are reconditioning how we think,
we are reconditioning what we are doing. And by doing this,
we are putting new understanding in our brain of how
we function as a child of God. Before we meet Christ,
(46:00):
we did not know this information that we weren't even
aware of it. But by reading the Bible and getting
this relationship with God active in your life, you are
teaching your mind. You are teaching your brain what it
means to follow God. You are transforming by the renewing
of your mind, putting off the old things being renewed
(46:24):
in the spirit of your mind, and putting on the
ways of Christ, putting on the new things. That is
required to dive into the scriptures to understand what they say.
What are they saying about guidance in these things? How
do we live our life? What is God saying about
(46:45):
how we live our life and how we follow after God?
And that's why it's so important to get into the
Bible to be able to see what these scriptures talk
about and how to actually live them out. But this
is part of the renovation, This is part of the transformation,
This is part of just changing your old ways so
(47:09):
that you can think more clearly, that you can think
more like the ways of God. The transformation process of
renovating your mind and putting in the new things of God,
the new ways of God. Then as you transform and
your mind is renewed, you are renovating it by adjusting
(47:31):
parts because you're being transformed from one thing to another.
That thing before was before you knew Jesus. Your mind
was not transformed. You didn't think differently. You were the
same way that before you knew Jesus. And that's the
point of the transformation. So when you think about again
that scripture that says the deeper meaning of renewing is
(47:54):
with repetition, intensity and reversal. Repetition meaning I went back
to drugs after I became a believer, not soon after.
What was I doing? I was going to former ways
before I knew Christ. But I was convicted about it.
I struggled with it. It wasn't something that I just
did as easily as I did before I became a Christian.
(48:16):
So when you think about the repetition with intensity and reversal,
sometimes you have to do it repetitively. You're talking about
ingrained behavior patterns that have been so ingrained in your
mind for your entire life. You're talking twenty thirty, forty
fifty sixty years for some of you. So those behavior patterns,
(48:38):
those are what must be renewed, that's what must be renovated.
That's what must have. Repetition with intensity and reversal, reversal
from what you're old ways to the new right. We're renovating,
we're new creation. You're going from a caterpillar to a butterfly.
As an example, of course, that's not what we are,
but it's an example of that word meta morphosis. You're
(49:01):
going from a baby believer, a Christian, a babe. The
Bible calls us an infant to im mature of full
of age. It calls us when we are more mature
walking in the ways of God. So this is where
when we look at that and realize, Wow, with repetition,
repetitiveness because sometimes it's going to take some repetition, but
(49:23):
with intensity because sometimes it's intense. Right, you're not going
to just all of a sudden be a totally different
person and be like, look that was easy, bam, to
stand my fingers. Everything's different. Some people when they get
born again, they get immediately delivered from drugs, immediately delivered
from cigarettes, immediately delivered from alcohol, pornography, whatever sin they're
(49:45):
dealing with. Some people get immediately delivered in their body
and they live it out from the day they become
born again. Others have to walk it out. Others did
not experience that miracle. I mean, they can't know it
did not happen for them. And that's where it's important
(50:05):
to know. It doesn't mean you didn't get saved. And
that's also the terminology the Bible talks about being born again.
It's also being saved because you're being saved from eternal
damnation Hell and you're going to heaven. You're being saved
from a life of sin and destruction to following after God.
That's what you're being saved from. So when you don't
know those terms in the beginning, it's like, well, what
(50:26):
do I need to be saved from? I mean, I
remember I remember saying that when I didn't know I
things of God, and those words just seemed odd to me.
I didn't understand what they meant. God has kept me
following him by spending time with him and getting in
his word and when you think about going twenty five
years with never once regressing back to drugs. Now, I
(50:48):
did drink alcohol, so I've been off alcohol for fifteen years,
so that took some time to work out of me.
I never did drugs again, but then I still struggled
with alcohol for a little while. So this is where
the process of transformation for me took a quart of
a century. You know, it wasn't something that happened overnight.
But now I've been off alcohol for about fifteen years.
(51:09):
I've been off sugar for over ten years. It's just
so amazing when I'm watching the transformation power of God.
All of that stuff has been renovation. All of that
has been renovating the old, getting the old out and
putting the new in. And it also has been with repetition,
with intensity, with reversal. It's been adjusting of my parts
(51:31):
inside my mind, my will, my emotions, my desires to
serve God, to follow after God, submitting to God, being
obedient to God in times that I didn't want to be.
I had to obey God and do what God said,
and I wanted to because I was his child, but
I was also struggling with those things. So this is
(51:53):
where when you think about and think about all these
areas in your life and how you have been transforming
over all this time. It is a process. Will you
ever be fully transformed like you just arrived? I think
you reach levels of growth and then when you reach
(52:14):
that level, then you go the next level of growth,
the next level of awareness, until the day we die
and our spirit goes and be with God forever an eternity.
I just think it's a process. But I can tell
you that the level I walk spiritually with God now
is so different than fifteen years ago. The maturity level
(52:34):
in your mind, your will, your emotions, your behaviors, in
you as a believer as well, you do grow up
in your knowledge as a believer. So that's why it's
so important to know the ways of God. And in
Galatians five sixteen through seventeen, it says that I say,
then walk in the spirit, and you will not fulfill
(52:55):
the luss of the flesh, for the flesh luss against
the spirit and the spirit and the flesh where they
are contrary to one another. That you cannot do the
things that you would, meaning that you want, you want
to do better, but you just can't get yourself to
do it. You just you know, it's just something that
you struggle with then you're trying. So this is the
(53:16):
process of that transformation. Now that word walk actually means
to regulate one's life, to conduct yourself. So you walk
out your life is how you regulate your life, how
you conduct yourself? What is your behavior? How do you
actually live your life? And that's just one thing that
when you study the scriptures and you break them down,
(53:38):
it's like, wow, that just makes so much more sense
than it did before. Now in Hebrews five thirteen through fourteen,
that's where it talks about us as babes. It calls us.
It says, for everyone that uses milk is unskillful in
the word of righteousness, for he is a babe, and
he's talking about believers. So those that must have the
(54:02):
milk because they can't consume the meat of the word.
The Bible says, which it also refers to deeper principles
of God, deeper understanding. Scripturally, there's things you don't understand
when you first get saved. But as you learn more
knowledge and you get more relationship with God and closer
to God than you understand more. So it talks about
(54:23):
how you're unskillful in the Word of righteousness. So the
Bible and the Word teaches us of righteousness. So when
it says we are unskilled, that means we don't know
the word, we're not educated on it, we don't understand
what it says. And that is unskilled of the Word
of righteousness. Then it says, but strong meat belongs to
(54:48):
them that are of full age or mature, even those
by reason of use, have exercised their senses to discern
both good and evil. So what does that mean. It
means by using, and that word used means habit as well,
So that's a whole other topic, building your habits around
(55:08):
your life, that you're actually able to discern the difference
between good and evil. And that means the choices that
you make. Do you make choices that are good in
your life or cause evil in your life? You know,
the Bible says that evil is not just like we
think of like axe murderers and these horrible things for
the word evil, but it also means discomfort. It means toil,
(55:32):
it means struggle, it means harm, It means things that
are you know, causing challenges in your life. And discomfort.
So it's not just this really heavy, intense, destructive thing
when we think evil like a murderer, which is horrible,
of course, but something that is evil causes disruption and
(55:55):
pain in our lives. So those that become more mature
in the way of God, you are actually exercising by
use of your senses, which is your ability to perceive
and judge things that you actually are able to discern
the difference between good and evil. That's when you mature
(56:15):
more in your relationship with God. That's when you actually
get more mature, you grow up more. Now you're not
an infant anymore because you make choices based on wisdom
on the ways of God. You now are transformed by
the renewing of your mind over time is a process
that happens. But as you start to see decisions that
(56:39):
you are making that is based on wisdom and being
skillful in the words of righteousness and knowing what the
Bible says. Remember Jesus said in Matthew twenty two that
you are mistaken because you don't know the word the Bible,
you don't know the scriptures, and you don't know the
power of God. So as you start to see this,
(57:02):
you know, come together in your life and you start
to see this relationship with God just develop stronger and stronger.
And then you get into the Word and you study
the Word and you watch it change your thinking, You
watch it renovate you as a person. You are adjusting
in parts, you are transforming. That you are made a
(57:23):
new creation when you are born again. But then there's
the process of becoming regenerated. The Bible talks about that
you are transformed into more of the ways of God,
that you are following after the ways of the Spirit.
So one scripture I was really encouraged in is Tewod
Corinthians four sixteen. It says, inwardly we are being renewed
(57:46):
day by day, although the outwardly person is perishing your
body because it's temporal. It says, we are being renewed
inwardly day by day, your soul, your mind, your will,
your emotions, lining it up with the ways of God,
lining it up with how does God want you to
(58:06):
live your life? How does he want you to think?
How does he want you to pursue the destiny that
He's created you for? And that is the beautiful part.
When you think about being transformed by the renewing of
your mind. And that's why this show is called Divine
Life Transformation. So we are going deep into the scriptures
(58:27):
and discovering how do you actually apply this to your life?
How do you strengthen your relationship with God? How do
you get where that's important to you that you spend
time with Him? How do you study the Bible? How
do you digest the Bible? How do you see it
change your thinking? These are all things God has done
in me, and these are all things that He is
(58:50):
allowing me to have this platform to be able to
help you do the same thing. And that is what
I'm so excited about, because I know that He is
a that has called me to this, and I am
so honored and so humbled to be able to do
this and just help bring What does it mean to
have a truly transformed life? So I went through those
(59:11):
phases in the beginning where I struggled with drugs and alcohol,
and then even after I overcame drugs and alcohol, I
still struggled with food. So I was a total glutton
idolatry of food. I would binge on five thousand calories.
I never purge in my food, thank God, but I
would eat until the point of nausea, and I mean
(59:31):
I was a wrecked So when I talk about transformation,
I'm talking about true transformation that I don't struggle with
any of that stuff anymore. It's never like in and
out struggle. No, it's gone. I have been completely renovated,
completely gutted out that old kitchen, adjusted those parts. But
(59:52):
it did not happen without my relationship with God and
diving into my personal time with God, prayer time in
the Word. And then the other thing too, of course,
is getting in the Word, diving into the Bible and
understanding what the scriptures talk about, understanding what the Bible
says about how we live this life transformed. And that's
(01:00:13):
just something that is so exciting to be able to
show you that because God did it in me first,
and he showed me how to do it through his word.
And when I asked him, what do you want me
to talk about in the show that you're giving me,
I wasn't clear on what the topic truly was going
to be, or even the name. And he said to me,
I want you to show them how to transform their
(01:00:36):
life like I did for you, and my relationship with
you and in knowing the word, and I knew that
that's what the show is going to be about because
that's exactly what God has done in my own life.
So I want to wrap this up with praying for
you because maybe you never had an experience, you never
(01:00:56):
had the conversion, Maybe you don't know if you're born again,
Maybe you never actually had that moment where you submitted
your life to God and you actually became born again.
So I don't want to close this out without giving
you that opportunity to say that prayer, because it's something
that is just an admittance and understanding of a moment
(01:01:19):
with God. So you guys all know the story. And
John three were Nicodemus, who was a sanhedron. He was
a scholar, and he was a Jewish scholar, and he
started to believe that Christ was the promise Messiah that
they were promised. Many of the Jews did not believe
that they were still waiting for their promise Messiah. So
(01:01:40):
if you don't know this, they were promised many many
years ago that they were going to have a Messiah
that was going to come and rescue them. Well, the
Jewish culture did not believe that Christ fit the things
that they thought the Messiah would arrive at. But there
were some people that believed he was the promise Messiah,
and Nicodemus started to have questions, are you the Promised Messiah?
(01:02:03):
I think you are the one? And then he started
to realize he was the one, but because of his
position in being a scholar in that community, he would go.
He went in the middle of the night to speak
to him, because remember the persecution was intense. So it's
just so intense when you really realize those things of
what those people did to catapult our faith in Christ. Now,
(01:02:29):
the Holy Spirit was a huge part of that, but
it's just so amazing when you think about what God
has done in the people who He has been working
through to carry the message out of who Christ is
and what this faith in the Bible and God is.
It's just so amazing when you think about it. So
(01:02:50):
this is where I started asking myself, well, okay, so
what is the new creation and what is born again?
And Nicodemus came to Christ in the middle of the night.
In John chapter I would recommend that you read through
that whole chapter and just see what it says. He
calls them a rabbi. He says, you are from God
and you work miracles, because nobody could work those kind
(01:03:12):
of miracles if you weren't from God. So it's interesting
because he didn't recognize him at that moment as the Messiah,
as the Lord, as the one that you know was
the promised King. But he was calling him a rabbi,
and he did say, you are from God because you
do miracles. No one could do those kind of miracles
if you weren't from God. And Jesus said back to him,
(01:03:33):
he didn't even ask this question, but Jesus said to him,
you cannot see the Kingdom of God unless you are
born again. And Nicodemus was like, what do you mean
born again? How am I supposed to go back to
my mother and be born again? And Jesus was not
speaking of that. He said, you must be born of
the spirit. You were already born of flesh. That flesh
(01:03:55):
is of flesh, And if you read through John three,
it'll talk about all of that. He said, being born
of flesh is a flesh and being born of the
spirit is of the spirit. Those are two different births.
So even though we've heard the term born again, it
was like Wow. Okay, that just helped me understand a
little bit differently. And that word again means born from above.
(01:04:17):
So we now are born spiritually. We were born of
the earth, of the flesh of water. It also says
through the human of our mother, that was the first birth.
The second birth that's required to get you into the
Kingdom of God is the birth of your spirit. And
that's the birth that is born again. That is the
(01:04:38):
birth that is born from above. And it says that
when we have that birth conception, you know, the Bible
calls it that we are now a child of God,
that we are now in the family of God, that
we are now children of God. What is truly becoming
born again? And the foundation of that is believing that
(01:05:01):
Jesus Christ died for our sins and that we cannot
get into Heaven without that. That we repent of our
sins and we know we need a savior, and that
Jesus Christ is the solution for that, that he came
here on this earth to die for us to pay
the sins for the world, the Bible says, and that
(01:05:23):
that is when you become born again. The being born
spiritually is truly having the revelation and admittance and acceptance
that we are sinners without Jesus Christ, and that we
need to have connection with God and the only way
to have that connection with God is through the Blood
(01:05:46):
of Christ. And I know you might have been taught
that in different ways, but it's just that's one thing
that I'm diving into, is how do I really explain
that scripturally human beings have sin? Why because of Adam,
that when Adam and Eve sinned, you know, Adam and Eve,
both of them, that sin came onto the human race,
and that every person has sin. That's just they are
(01:06:09):
called sinners, every single human being, and the only way
to take that away from them is to be bought
at a price, which is the blood of Christ. So
that's where when you start to study the scriptures and
seeing when the Bible talks about his crucifixion and what
he did. He paid the price for all of the sin.
(01:06:31):
He took on all of the sin of all humanity,
and he paid for it. And part of becoming born
again is in that moment of conception of reception that
you've accepted that that you've realized it, that you've repented
of your sin and you've asked God and received God
Jesus Christ into your heart as your savior. That is
(01:06:55):
being born again. So if you are seeing all these
things that have explained and you realize, I want to
have this relationship with my creator. I want to know
this God you're talking about, the one that puts you
on this earth, the one that puts your spirit inside
your mother's womb and that gave you life. That is
your creator, and he wants to have a relationship with you.
(01:07:18):
But it is required to have a relationship with this creator,
who is wholly, pure, righteous and just, you have to
have the sins paid for that is on the human
race because of the fall of man. And that's something
that when you realize that and realize, I know I've sinned.
I know I've been a sinner and done things that
(01:07:39):
are not godly, and I know I need a savior.
I know that I need to have a relationship with
my creator. But to be in connection with this creator,
we must be born again. So I'm going to say
this prayer and just say it after me, and just
pray it with all of your heart as well. Jesus,
(01:08:02):
I come before you now, and I thank you for
what you did for me on the cross. I thank
you that you have paved a way for me to
have eternal life with you. And I repent of my sins.
(01:08:28):
I repent of not following you or wanting a relationship
with you. And I pray in the name of Jesus Christ,
that you are the Lord of my life. I receive
the free gift of being born from above. And I
(01:08:54):
thank you that I am now a child of God God,
and I pray that you guide me and you show
me how to transform my life. In the name of Jesus,
(01:09:17):
we pray Amen that if you said that prayer and
you have never had that revelation and repentance before God
and receiving the free gift of eternal life through Christ Jesus,
that now today this is your spiritual birthday. Document this down,
whatever day this is for you, because that is something
(01:09:40):
that is so amazing that God brought you here. He
knew where you would be, he knew what you struggled with,
and he knew that some of you did not know
Him yet and some of you just met Him. And
I am so honored to be able to be an
embassad that are for God to be a servant for God,
(01:10:03):
and I am so excited for your life to be transformed,
and I am so honored to be a part of
that because obviously God divinely brought you here and I
am just so excited for you. Thanks for listening to
