It's about highlight and you know, celebrating independent business.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Appreciate it, making tragic business.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
Yeah. Yeah, So we're trying to open up worldwide. I
had a shop. We had a shop in Bangkok for
say that's a T shirt.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
We had a shopping vein to prosituts we don't nuts
under and then.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
You got a donut right there and we put a
donut in between.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
You know what I'm doing.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
You should do it.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
We should get us a donut shop instead of donuts.
Will call it des nuts, donuts donut hole.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
You need to.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
But tell okay, I like it.

Speaker 2 (04:38):

Speaker 3 (04:53):
The hole that you mentioned.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
One hundred grand and donut holes a year.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
But I mean, after you know, it seems like you've
already gained success.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
So you know what keeps you passionate? Is it?

Speaker 4 (05:08):
Is it the passion for actually baking, or is it
the side of it that's the business that keeps you motivated.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
Yeah, I mean it's just about trying to come up
with other fun things. I mean, that's what you know,
coming up with new fun donuts. That's why you know.
I brought our secret menu Chicken and Waffles donut for
y'all to try coming up with crazy stuff like that.
It's a chicken donut. We dip it in waffle battery, fried,
put a little maple icense, delicious, World's greatest donut bonappetite.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
When you say it's a chicken donut, is the chicken.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
So it takes some chicken. We shred the chicken, okay,
and then we've molded into a ring, then freeze it
and then we did make a waffle batter, dip it
in the waffle batter, then we fried, so then it
comes out like a perfect donut. Obviously you can wowla.
So that's all.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
This is chicken, right.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
Masquerading as a donut. Yeah, you gotta come in and
ask for It's just that one right now until we
do stuff. Then if I do something, I put on
the secret men, you come and ask the crew. They
know you see check us out on social media on
the ground. You know what I'm saying, Facebook.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
How do people? How will people get this? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (06:13):
Check? Well, you're gonna check usself. Sublime Donuts, Sublime Donuts.
You know, you can check out Sublime Donuts dot com.
You know what I'm saying. Go check out our social
media's and all that jazz, and you can find out
all the fun ship we're doing. We're trying to do
a lot of fun stuff. We've done lots of crazy things.
I was really trying to catch the vibe and flow
with y'all because I've done some stupid rap songs. But

(06:34):
I was like, I can't freestyle.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
Let's do it.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
Well, it's all about donuts, So you know, I mean,
I mean, I love it and the people love it.
But so we slowed down on it. But yeah, for
like a year straight.

Speaker 6 (06:50):
Donuts in your mouth, girl, I want to put my
doughnuts in your mouth all all in yall mind and
I feel doughnuts in your mind.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
Girl, in your mind. But the donuts all up and
y'all o my out now.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
Original man, I'm from Mata. Okay, okay, So let me.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Ask you this because it's a lot of it's a
lot of you know, ghetto children that watch out show.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
Could you give.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
Us some inside game and tell them how they can
make a doughnut and the grip?

Speaker 3 (07:34):
Yeah? Yeah, I mean actually, I got a book, wrote
the book on I got the book. I got a
bag over there.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
I don't get that bag. The bag to get the
get the book bag.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Yeah, we need to cook book. We need to book
bag real quick. Give us a ghetto.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
He's just sat home donuts so easy. If you want
to make a home donut, you can take the camp biscuits.
Everybody knows little cam biscuits. Take a bottle cap, take
out the whole, fry it, you know, make it. And
to make a quick glaze. If you want to make
a quick glaze, you can take some sweet and condensed milk.
So the jar of sweet and condensed milk. And so
that's in here, the jar sweet condensed milk. Put it

(08:13):
in a pot of boiling water. Don't open it, just
put it in the pot of boiling water. Let it
boil slow, simmer, like two three hours. And then after
you open up, the whole can will be caramelized. You
can make a little caramel done.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
So there you go. Now that's so check it out.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
We got that in the book Homemade Done.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
That's at home, available on the website.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Yes, not on our website. I gotta get organized. We're
gonna look at all the amazons in the things they
come to the shop. We got it up there, you know.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
So you do it all. You got the feelings that's
not serving that. You know.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
You hear a lot of people that look like us
doing you know, you hear a lot of fried chicken
wings and.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
True soul food and all that.

Speaker 4 (08:53):
So what made you? What got you into bacon? As
a black man from Maria?

Speaker 3 (08:58):
I just always loved sweet and bake goods. I mean,
I wish I had the confidence of y'all fellas, cause
I always want to make people happy. So it was
like Ooh, I want to do something make people happy.
If I was confident, like y'all, could be a comedian.
But you know I'm not there.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
No one.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
The next next step, I'm gonna make good baked goods
and uh, you know, give it out to the people.
So try to make people happy. And that's what I
like to do, is make people happy. And donuts make
people happy. So that's what we're about to do.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Tell all the fellas while they should start baking.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
Uh you know donuts, you know, and what if you
got you should figure out one recipe. Everybody should have
one solid recipe that you could probably do by heart.
And so when someone come over your house, come over
the crib, you can just bang it out real quick.
You're impressed. You're like, wow, you really know how to cook?
You only know one thing?

Speaker 2 (09:42):
And be with you, like when you're dealing with a chick.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
How long you be with me before you bust out
the baking skills on you?

Speaker 2 (09:48):
Be like, girl, you ain't even know I made you
a cross salt right, it's got smoke coming off.

Speaker 3 (09:59):
Apple, damis right?

Speaker 2 (10:00):
You ain't not to say?

Speaker 3 (10:04):
Well, it depends, you know, it depends on the vibe thebe,
you know, because you don't want to go all in
right away because then you know she comes back to
shop and stuff.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
Some real light, a little criml you know, you know,
got him in the baked bitch, my dick.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
Look check it out, same size and everything.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
Look at that.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
Look at you think you had of that, But yeah,
take that when it catch.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
The real If I was all my food to be fringish,
it's some sweetnamy burkast and man looking pancakes.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
Hanging off the plate.

Speaker 4 (10:41):
See man, that's the that's the cool part about what
you do though. Man, it's it's it's you know, it's
not something that's very popular. So it's I don't always
like to, you know, encourage whoever's watching this man, don't
always go with the flow.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
You could do something different.

Speaker 4 (10:54):
You could do something and surprise people by your skill
set if you get a new skill set.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
So this brother is an example of that.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
That is true. I mean there's lots of lanes. I mean,
you you hit on that first time where it was like,
not a lot of people do donuts. A lot of
black business you see, it's wings or barber shops or something.
I mean, that's all good. We love to support those,
but you know, you can do other things. And I
mean it's telling in the shop. I mean a lot
of people have been open twelve years now and people
still come in the shop and be like, oh, I
didn't know it was black owned. I think some of
the people here was like, hold on, it was black on.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
And it's that you don't have to you know, you know,
there's layers of being black, you know what I'm saying,
So you don't have to.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
Be one way.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
You don't have to be one way.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
So they think, yeah, they think all black people are
the same.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
Yeah, but if you come in the shop, you'll catch
small black vibes. I mean, obviously the donuts is quality,
so it's nothing like, oh, this is a lemon pepper
chicken donut, you know what I'm saying. But you'll hear
like usually you hear some R and B playing, you'd
be like, hold on, the this is some deep cuts here,
you know what I'm saying. Playing.

Speaker 4 (11:55):
So what's out of all the donuts that you make,
what would you say is your favorite of your Oh?

Speaker 3 (12:00):
Man, I like them all. They're on my little baby,
so I love them all. But fresh present cream my
number one seller, So that's the winner. People love that
one is the top, that's the winner. Uh, you know
the honey glaz cinnamon swirl, that's great. I know, the
Recee's peanut butter cups and you've got a pen analogy,
but that one's a one.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
Yeah I know, yeah, you know what I'm saying. And
I like the ship with the cinnamon and sugar on it.
Oh yeah, yeah. I like the birthday cake ones, the
ones that got the you know, the spreading. Yeah. Yeah.
Who've been some of your best customers?

Speaker 3 (12:37):
Uh, just everybody, I mean everybody comes support. I mean
since we've been around, obviously, we uh, we open up
twenty four hours, so we'll get in the morning time
people go into the office, office workers taking them to
the workplace. In midday, people will come by just to
get a quick break before they go home, want to
get a donut of two. Then later at night people
come taking people on dates and stuff. And then since

(12:58):
we open the middle of the night, you get people
work third shift or leaving the club or leaving something
in the take donuts home for their family to eat
a breakfast.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
You know a lot of people trying to go with
the healthy eating right now, y'all got something from Weirdo.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
They tell you every day you don't eat me. I
didn't ask you that, dont man.

Speaker 3 (13:19):
We got we got all the stuff in our donuts. Man,
treat yourself, don't cheat yourself. That's what I tell you.

Speaker 2 (13:24):

Speaker 4 (13:25):
Well, we appreciate you coming and putting us down on
the donut game.

Speaker 3 (13:29):

Speaker 3 (14:45):
Yeah? Man, I mean when they were building out the
new stadium, you know, they wanted to support Atlanta businesses
put a lot of local Atlanta stuff in there. So
they were looking at stuff and the figure, this guy
from the Falcons came through the donut shop we were
chopping up. He was telling me I was building it
out and for business. He was like, hey, I want
to think about doing the donut shop. I was like,
