Speaker 1 (00:00):
With the Best Bits of the Week with Morgan.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Part one behind a scene with a member of the show.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
Happy weekend, everybody, It is Best Bits time. Morgan here
and I'm joined by Amy this weekend. Amy. How are
you hi?

Speaker 2 (00:15):
I'm good?

Speaker 1 (00:15):
How are you good? It's super early in the morning,
so we're going to dive into all of this. We
have some bits from the show this week that are
happening that you'll catch on Part two. We've got Tuesday
Reviews Day, Eddie versus Lunchbox in the Country lyrics game,
which went totally opposite direction than anybody planned. We have
love live updates from Amy myself Abby, whatever they may be,

(00:38):
how old we think certain things you should have to
be to not do it or do it? And Eddie
met with Kroger executives about his smoke and chicken business.
I had another crazy uber story that went down, and
Lunchbox is a Karen so really good stuff over there.
If you want to catch up on the show, What
have you been up to lately? Amy? What's new with you? Live?

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Just well, a lot of college time with Stashira because
Stevenson has been with his dad in Colorado the last
two weeks. Oh Wow, and they went, which is fun.
My sister lives there too where they are, so he
just spent the night with her the other night and
I was getting all kinds of videos and pictures of

(01:22):
things they were doing. My sister lives on the river,
so they were tubing and so.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
Like a boy's trip. Or is it because I know
stas Shia's working for a while.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
She she stayed here because of work.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
And it's not just boys like Ben's girlfriend went, so gotcha?
I think they yeah, And it's a small town. Our
family dynamic is interesting. So I was like, oh, my
sister said even one night they were going out to
eat and they had no idea they were going to
be there, and they walk in there like oh hey,
so they all got to meet and hang out and

(01:55):
for a sec.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Is that Progosa Springs Or am I thinking of somewhere else?

Speaker 2 (01:58):
That's it?

Speaker 1 (01:59):
That is okay? Is that a really small town?

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Very quaint? Gotcha? And my sister and her family, they're downtown.
There's like this picture in old downtown cute. That's where
the restaurants are. They walk everywhere, So they walk down
to get a bite to eat, and there's only so
many restaurants where you're gonna run into them, And Stevenson
was like, ceci, so that that's I'm sharing that because

(02:25):
steven since been gone and I've had a lot of
quality time with Stashira. You know, I get the kids
every other week, but in this case, I had the
kids the week before they left, and then he's been
gone for two weeks, so I've had sta share for
three weeks.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
That's amazing. Is are you loving that quality time for
you guys together? Especially because she's what she's sixteen or seventeen,
she's seventeen. Oh my gosh, that feels so crazy. Is
it fun to have that quality time now because she's
a little bit more grown up or is she still
in the teenager phase where we have our moments.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
It's both, But you know, Adeline, she's my twenty one
year old nieces been living with me for the summer,
so it's been cool for them to have that time
and so watching them sometimes joining in, sometimes just letting
them be h. I think it's been really perfect because
she looks up to her niece for sure, or my niece,

(03:16):
her cousin, and if she's going to model herself out
of after anybody. Adeline's a great role model for sure,
so I'm glad she's had that time with her too.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Fun.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
That's yeah, what about you?

Speaker 1 (03:29):
Lots of girls' nights, ladies knights? I love that. So
I went this past weekend to check out two new
like artists type bars in Nashville. I went to Laney
Wilson's new bar and I went to Frank Sinatra Bar.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Oh, I've gone to dinner there.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Yeah, super fancy, like I loved the vibe, but super fancy,
very steakhouse kind of esk with Frank Sinatra singing vibes
is the best way I could describe it. And then
we went so Laney Wilson's we did actually go to
a bar. We went to the dueling pianos that are
below her bar kind of connected and that was a
super fun experience. But I was bummed because I requested

(04:07):
them to play Goodbye Earl and they didn't do it
while I was there. Apparently, according to a listener that
was there, she texted me it was like they did
it later and it was epic. I was like, dang it,
I missed my one request.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
I can see how that would be a fun song.
My niece. She had friends in town last weekend and
they included Stashare and some stuff, which was fun. But
they also went to Broadway. Oh like what, Yeah, there
was one nights to share.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
It.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Even went to bed at seven pm. I have a
Saturday night, I think, And I said, what are you
doing going to bed at seven? She goes, well, they're
going to get home at around twelve thirty or one.
And they said they'd wake me up so I can
hang out with them when they get back. So I
need to rest up. Oh. So they went to Broadway
and hit up all those bars and said it was
just so much fun. And I'm like, I don't I

(04:48):
don't ever do that. I think I could go like
Ray does with his wife and go during the day. Yeah,
it's hard to go at night.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
Well, and honestly, we had I had seen the dueling
piano bars on Instagram. I was like, Oh, that's super cool.
And it wasn't until we were about to head there.
I was like, oh, we're going down down downtown. And
so Frank Sinatra Bar is also downtown, but it's off Broadway,
so it helps is busy. Yeah, And Landy Wilson's is
a little bit off Broadway. It's not on the main strip.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
I go, well, let me correct myself. You need a reservation.
The restaurant itself is busy, but on the street it's
not packed full of people.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
Yes, yes, they highly encourage reservations, but we didn't. When
we went to Frank Sinatra, we didn't eat dinner. So
we ate at Dueling Piano and like, had drinks, had
a fun time. And then we went to Frank Sinatra
and ordered the entire dessert menu and had like nightcap drinks.
That was the whole vibe of the night and it
was so much fun. It was the perfect mix of
two little things. So that was fun recently. And then I'm,

(05:47):
you know, fostering dogs, and that's just what life is
right now. I'm about to have three more weddings, so
things are about to pick back up again for me.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
So every time I'm doing this bit, you have another wedding.
I know, also a bachelorette party.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
Yeah, so I have one bachelorette party coming up and
then two weddings, so all the wedding stuff is happening again.
I had a little bit of a nice I don't know,
I don't know, just h Well, I'm more like I
do when I think about it, Like I see all
these I'm like, this is super cool. But I don't
think I want the big wedding. I don't think I
want all of that. You know I'm in. You know,

(06:21):
you could always change your mind, but I just really
don't think that's me. I think I'll be on a
mountaintop somewhere and be like, hey, guys, I'm married. Nobody
will ever know.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
I can totally say that, yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
So we'll see you. But that's what's going on, Okay.
I want to know something you're really into right now
because I had We talked about this a little bit
on part three when we were talking about Prime Day.
I purchased an Apple Watch, and now I'm like obsessed
with seeing how many steps I get in a day,
to like count all my my ten thousand steps because
I've realized when I get home from work, I'll work

(06:53):
out cool, but I don't move much after work and
working out, I'll sit and I'll work pretty much for the
rest of the day. And I'm like, dang, I don't
really move my body as much as I'm supposed to
be moving it. So now I'm like obsessed with watching
how many steps. Even if I'm in the house, I'm like, okay, stairs,
let's let's get some steps in really cool.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
Oh gosh, that's bringing back nightmares. I used to do
things like that, did you. I don't. I'm sure I
could now that I'm in a healthier state, but I
used to. It is just such part of like my
my journey of control and disordered behavior. And then and
it would I couldn't go to sleep if I didn't, yeah,
you know, it would get up like a while. I'd
be brushing my teeth and washing my face to go

(07:31):
to bed. I would be pacing around my room because
I thought so instead of it being a fun game,
because I would sign up for those games that Aaron
would do, and I love I love Aerin, but Aaron
Oprias she would do step bet, and I would sign
up for step bet, which was really really helpful. Actually
during a season where my dad was in the hospital,
it would help me pace the hospital and that that

(07:51):
was an easy way to get steps because otherwise I
felt like I would just sit next to him while
he's laying there. So there was pros and cons of that.
And then I was like this isn't a game for
me anymore. I am not well, and so I was
using it. I think it's all in how you do it,
so you're you've got to handle on it, so you're

(08:12):
doing it as fun. So I'm not trying to be
Debbie down or like won't, won't, but.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
No, I think it's it's a good way to see
it though, because some people can have that experience and
some people have it like my I won't if I
go to bed without and be like, okay, whatever, that's
just my day. But I have been. I think it's
important to move your body enough. That's what it's been
helpful for is I just realized, like I'll go home
and crash and I'll just be on the couch and
not want to move my body. And that's what it's

(08:38):
more than helpful for. So I was on like the
polar end or you were moving all the time, and
I wasn't moving enough, you know, even walking my dog.
I'd be like, I'm only at like five thousand steps today,
how is that even possible? Like it was more of
an alertnist for me to like maybe stop watching TV
as much and get out and do some more things.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
I think ten thousands of times, well a lot of
times can sell really intimidating. And I did see an
article the other day that talked about when you really
start to see a change. If you are able to
take steps walk, have that part of your daily routine
and you're adding that in, you start to see the

(09:17):
physical effects and the emotional mental impacts at about four
thousand steps. So if you can get to that point
every day, you're at a point that is starting to
make a difference. Now you can go beyond that, which
is great if you can, but sometimes if you want to,
if you're like, Okay, I've made it to the four thousand,

(09:37):
that's good because that's where it's like there's been a
switch in the body.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
That helps me then at least that I'm moving enough
of that every day. But it's one of those things
where you know, you hit kind of a plateau. Whatever
it might be, you hit a plateau. And I definitely have.
I've worked out my whole life and I eat relatively
healthy all the time, and it was like I hit
a plateau. I was like, what is the one thing
I'm not doing. I don't move my body more than
just like going to work out, I'm not like walking

(10:04):
or utilizing. I go and sit on the couch for
six hours a day because I'm working, and then I'm
done working and I want to watch TV. And it
was like that kind of switched to that happen where
I was like, Okay, I just need to move a
little bit more instead of maybe binging a show for
eight hours every day.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Well, you were saying, what are you into? I've been
into pre Zoom Innocence.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
I saw that when you were when you were not
feeling well, did you finish it all? Yes? Okay, I know,
I know you're scared to say anything.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
I guess I'll wait for Tuesday, for Tuesday next week.
And then also I think I'm just allowed to say
yes or no.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
Okay, Well that's been fun to watch.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
We've been watching, and I'm obsessed with recommending it to
people to tell people that watch and everyone that has
watched it because they either heard Bobby talking about on
the show or I texted it to them like this
is what I'm doing. They have texted back, just finished
and I'm stopping there.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
Okay, Okay, Well we had we had saved it to
watch it this weekend, so now I'm excited to watch it. Okay,
well that's all we're saying, No, that's all or something.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
There's yeah, and then the other show is Sunny, which
people will hear. I just feel like Bobby did come
with some strong res I kind of like that we're
saving things for Tuesdays. It gives me something to look
forward to. So I've been I have been into getting
better because I have not been feeling well. So I
have been laying low and organizing nice.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
I love organizing. Are you doing any particular organizing project,
like a.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Lot of different things cabinets and trying to figure out
where things should go. And I got out my Home
Edit book a long time ago, to their very first book.
I think they have multiple now, but their first book
they ever did. They did an event in Nashville and
they asked me to moderate it, and so I did that,

(11:57):
and in exchange, they redid my pantry. Well, California Closets
had made over the pantry, and then the Home Edit
organized it. So my pantry was so awesome and I
couldn't take any credit for it at all whatsoever. And
at the event, you know, I got the book and
so I've busted that out and I'm trying to take

(12:19):
tips and tricks and how to I'm not going to
be like that yeah myself. It's just not something that
comes naturally to me, nor do I have the desire
to have it a perfect way. But there are tips
and tricks, so I've been trying to read through how
to make things flow.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
Well if you need help. I love organization, it's my damn.
I'm not not on their scale. That's the whole. They
made a whole career out of it. But I love
organizing and I love going to like and I think
it's closing the Container Store. I used to go there
almost every weekend. I loved organizing different things in my house.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
So that's where I got some of my home edit goodies.
But I know they're at Walmart now too, and other
place I'm sure well, and Amazon. I guess that's gosh,
it's that's difficult. It's the case. I didn't know the
container Store was closing, because sometimes it's so helpful to
go and see that stuff in person.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
Yeah, and have the measurements and make sure it all fits,
because if you're getting different containers for different spaces.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
But well, so let me tell you what I ordered
on Amazon and it was super cheap. I'll have to
find the link. I don't know if you link things
in the show notes or nobody may even care about this,
But I had pillows that I wasn't using inserts that
are euro pillows. Yeah, so they're larger, they're nicer pillows.
I currently don't have a need for them, but I

(13:36):
don't want to get rid of them, because what if
I end up getting some shams and I need them.
I don't want to go read buy them. And pillows
are just so hard to store. And I had them
in a trash bag for four years. And as I've
been organizing, I just googled, you know, storage for pillows,
and then this clear plastic bag. This is nothing, you know,

(13:59):
or shattering, but it has these little handles and a
zipper and it's the perfect shape for the euro pillows
and like three of them can fit in there and
it lines up perfectly and you can see through the
clear bag. You know what's in there. I mean comforter sheets, blankets,
whatever you want to put in there will work. And
then little handles. I went and walked to the attic
and now I know exactly where they are. They're stored safely.

(14:22):
They're not in some black trash bag where I don't
know what they are. And so that's been part of
my process, is having a system. And then sheets. You know,
we've got multiple beds kids, but i'd like to have
a change of sheets. If I'm changing, I put one
on and then I go wash the other. And I
haven't always been that way, but unto a point where

(14:44):
that's the thing. On Amazon, when I was ordering those bags,
this little thing popped up. People that buy this like
to buy this, and it's King Queen full little ties
or like little band things like a belt. Okay, and
you know we have these little blow up twins mattresses
and stuff that we pull out and I need sheets
for that if we have company. And so now I've

(15:06):
got my little belts for all the different sheet sets,
so when they're organized, you don't just have to pull
them down and sift through it and try to figure
out which sheet is this. It's in its little belt.
So these are the things, These are the things I'm into. Morgan.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
I like it. I like organizations that I could talk
about that all day. So I love it, and we
will link it. So make sure you send it to me, Okay,
we're gonna take a quick break. We'll be right back.
This is super funny, and I wanted to bring the
left because you and I both have had experience with
people keying our cars. But I saw a video on
TikTok of a turkey attacking a person's car and it

(15:43):
did like severe damage to the vehicle. And I couldn't
stop laughing because the only way this person found out
that a turkey attacked their cars because a neighbor took
a video and then left a note said, hey, I
have footage of a turkey attacking your car.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
Oh this is good to know because the probably would
have thought it was dalism.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
From right and like, how do you like get that
covered on insurance? If you don't have proof that it happened,
they would just think you did it or something. And
I laughed because I was like, this is hilarious, so
maybe and maybe yours is also crazy. Like you know,
my my ex kee'd my car at one point, but
have you ever had any like weird damage to your
car And you're just like, what is happening? What is life?

Speaker 2 (16:22):
Well, yeah, I mean I have the X king the
car thing, and then I mean I've walked out to
a note on my car before you know, I hit
your car and here's my info. Call and it was
a little dent and I called and we got it
taken care of. H I've never left a note, but
I've gone into the place there was only really two
options where someone could have been, and I've been in

(16:43):
and I'm like, who drives the tan Honda? I just
hit you, uh, And I've worked it out that way.
But I don't know that I've ever walked out to
really not knowing what in the world has happened, at
least that I can recall in this moment, I feel
like people have always left notes or well, I mean

(17:06):
when my ex keyd, he did it, but he gave
himself away in his spelling.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
Yeah, my in my when my ex kid, he didn't,
he didn't spell it. But it was like lines all
the way up and down. So I'd had that entire
like one side of a vehicle totally redone.

Speaker 2 (17:21):
How old were you that was?

Speaker 1 (17:23):
That was the first X in Nashville, the wild scenario,
that one. So I was like twenty three, so not
super long ago.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
I was sixteen or seventeen. I can't remember. But I
hadn't had my car too long.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
Yeah, and so you're like, what is this? Why are
you doing that?

Speaker 2 (17:43):
I was mortified, and my dad had to take it.
Speaking of getting it painted, he had to show up
there and it said a bad word, like a horrible word,
and another word, and had to get it totally painted.
He's the worst.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
You know what's funny with that one. So when he
had left like cash at my place and we had
already like broken up at this point.

Speaker 2 (18:03):
But but why cash?

Speaker 1 (18:05):
I don't know, don't ask me, but it was one
of the many questions. But I texted like his parents
and I said, hey, like your son did this. I'm
using this money to get the car fixed. And I
took the cash and I went and fixed my car.
I was like, and it covered it. That's how much
he had laying there.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
Maybe that's why you put it there.

Speaker 1 (18:21):
No, oh, because this was like he had left it
from like months before, and he was not a planner
like that, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
He thought, He's like, no, no, no, not mad, I
had a mental episode.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
Here's somebody you would have never done that. But you
know it was in there from like when we had
been together long before and it just happened to be
at my apartment still and never got moved out.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
Okay. It wasn't like during the breakup where he's like,
here's some.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
Cash, like you know, that would probably been a really
nice thing to do, but yeah, no, okay, yeah, no
he okay, got it.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
No, I'm glad you were able to use it and
it worked out, so it's meant to be. You were
able to pay for.

Speaker 1 (18:59):
It, and I I I was even just gonna go
and do it, but I was like, no, you know,
I'm gonna be nice and I'll text the parents say fi,
this happened, amusing, this, this is where that came from.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
And what did they say about their son's behavior.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
They're just like really sorry about that, okay, And I
was like, what is my life? What's happening?

Speaker 2 (19:19):
I'm sorry you've been through so much and I'm glad
now you're in a relationship that is like you've shared
confusing to you because it's actually healthy.

Speaker 1 (19:29):
Yeah, yeah, very very confusing. I'm like, what you like
to communicate? What are we doing?

Speaker 2 (19:34):
That's weird for me when we're used to the confused
and confusion and chaos. Yeah, it's hard when we don't
have it.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
So good to not be used to the chaos anymore.
It feels so great. Okay, So that one's funny. I'll
also link the TikTok video because it's hilarious. What trivial
thing would you like to complain about right now? And
this is this is so trivial. But I'm really tired
of people putting cilantro and everything. I hate cilantro. It
tastes like soap or it tastes spicy to me, and

(20:04):
so every time it's in every dish, I get really
mad and it'll ruin a totally good dish for.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
Me at Mexican restaurants or what.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
Yeah, every Mexican restaurant, can you say, no, Well, they
put it in like guacamole, or they put it as
like a finishing touch to things, or it's in like
it'll be like in a little enchilada somewhere, or like
a pasta dish here, And I'm like, why, why why
you do it in everything? I know, because it's like
a herb or whatever and it's a garnishing thing.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
Well, it's it's for me. It's yummy. I love cilantro.
It's actually uh, it has a lot of benefits nutritionally.

Speaker 1 (20:37):
As well as it does, and of course I get
so parsley.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
So sometimes people just consider it as a garnish and like, oh,
what's it really doing anyway? But there's a lot of
good properties well in those herbs, in those garnishes, So I.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
Can handle part. I can't handle cilaunchro out, for it's
either like super spicy, like so spicy where I'm like
taken aback, or it tastes like soap. There's no one between,
and so every time it'll ruin a completely good dish
for me and be like, well, I can't eat this
because I feel like I'm tasting soap. Is that weird?

Speaker 2 (21:10):
Yeah, I mean it's that's what people say. Some people
are like they either love it or it taste like soap,
which is what's interesting about our bodies.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
But do you have something trivial you'd like to complain about.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
I mean, some parts of my day in grass just
are not greening. Oh and some are.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
You're doing the grass stuff right now.

Speaker 2 (21:28):
Yeah, I'm taking care of it now myself. That was
something then always did again on my journey of learning
a lot, And there's just these certain sections, but I
think I figured it out. Maybe when they put in
the driveway at my house, they dug up certain things,
and then when they laid down the dirt, it's not

(21:51):
a thick enough layer of dirt in that section near
the driveway, so therefore it's more rocky right there.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
Yeah, a lot of soil, so.

Speaker 2 (22:02):
That, from my research, is probably why it's happening. But
it's now something I sit and stare at and I'm like,
I got to fix this because I've been able to
transform this section over here, and it's a bummer, but
I don't want to have to dig anything up. But
maybe there's some sort of solution. And who knows. If
someone's listening to this right now and they have a
similar problem and they've fixed it, they could tell me.

(22:24):
But I want to complain about is it whoever built
my driveway, If that's why, I wish you would have
dug a little deeper and put some more dirt.

Speaker 1 (22:33):
Is it just a few spots or is it like
the whole one side of a driveway.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
It's both sides of the driveway, and wherever the driveway is,
it's like like like kind of lining the driveway. It's
almost like a little outline.

Speaker 1 (22:47):
Okay, well if you do dead, I have learned that
you always plant grass seed in the fall or the spring.
Really the fall is by your best time.

Speaker 2 (22:56):
Yeah, I'm going to be seating in the fall. Yep.
I'd read about that.

Speaker 1 (22:59):
And you need to make sure there's like a it's
this little tool that like you push down, not like
a shovel, but it has a whole bunch of spikes
on it. Do you have one of those?

Speaker 2 (23:09):
No, but I'll figure that out.

Speaker 1 (23:11):
Yeah, So one of those spikes before you lay the
seed down, because you want this seed to be able
to be within there instead of just tilling on tight.
I think it's skilling. Yeah, And those those two things
will help certain areas, and depending you can get different
grass seed depending on how like if it's in the sun,
if it's not in the sun, if it's a patch

(23:32):
you're trying to do, Like, there's different grass seed for
different things, so you may have to find a specific
grass seed for what those issues are.

Speaker 2 (23:41):
Right now, all my brain is saying like I'll get
to that in the fall.

Speaker 1 (23:44):
Okay, Okay, I.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
Appreciate it, and I'm just kind of like, okay, yeah,
it's hard to self in the fall.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
Keeping a yard green and maintenance and looking pretty all
the time is so hard and it's a lot of work.
It's there's a reason why there are people who have
full time jobs doing it. It's a lot of work.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
Yeah. I standing out there with my coffee on Saturday
mornings and I'm like, why, why, what is the deal?
Why do we even care? And what are we doing?
And then there's all this water, and then I start
my thoughts start to go with like, some people don't
even have water, and here I am just like sitting
here watching my yard water and caring so much about
what this looks like. And of course esthetically it is
pretty on the eye, and I want to take care

(24:25):
of my things. But then I'm like, when did yards
become like a a thing?

Speaker 1 (24:32):
I don't know?

Speaker 2 (24:33):
And I drive by some people and they have the
turf whatever, and then I'm like, maybe I just lay
down the turf because it looks really pretty and you
can't even really tell I.

Speaker 1 (24:43):
Think the turf you have to switch out every couple
of years. Though, Oh so it does still become a
maintenance thing, but it illises every couple of years.

Speaker 2 (24:50):
Okay, But then also, I like my feet on the grass,
so that'd probably get old.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
But yeah, well I learned Remy is allergic to fescue,
which is a really popular grass that everybody he puts down.
So now like when the weeds or whatever take over,
I'm like, Whatevermy can be in it more when there's
not fascue. So to your point, like, I do think
there's a people just love it. I think it looks
really pretty when I see a full green and Remy

(25:15):
can run in it, but then she has more allergies
when it looks that way. So I'm like, I what's
the trade off at this point? So I do get it. Okay,
we're gonna take homework, quick break, We'll be right back,
all right. What is something that you feel like maybe
you're not gonna be able to give up someday, or
you're like, can I give this up someday? And the

(25:36):
reason I asked this is because I look at my jeep,
and obviously we talked about on the show and all
the ducks that I have, but it's you know, I'm
hitting one hundred and twenty thousand miles soon and there's
gonna be a point where I'm gonna have to get
a new car. And am I gonna get a new
Jeep or am I just gonna totally switch gears and
no longer be a cheap girl. I feel like it's
now part of my identity.

Speaker 2 (25:56):
Oh, I think it's gonna be hard to I went
and testro jeeps the other day, did your niece, because
her car is like dying, And we went to look
at like what it would trade in for and they're like, okay,
we'll give you a thousand dollars and.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
She's like okay, oh gosh.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
So it's time. Like she's desperately trying to find something
before she leaves down and she has to be able
to drive back to Colorado. And we test drove jeeps,
and I get it. It's so fun. I want to
get a Jeep. I got in the driver's seat for
a little bit of the test drive with her and
did the Jeep wave like within the first minute behind
the wheel because a Jeep was coming opposite traffic and

(26:34):
I did my two fingers off and they did it,
and I was like, this is addicting. So I have
never owned a Jeep. Actually in college I had a
Jeep Cherokee, but that's very different than the Wrangler.

Speaker 1 (26:46):
It is, but you're still part of the cheap family.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
But yes, okay, well it did not have Nope, I
wasn't jep waving anybody there was there. We didn't have
those vibes. So I get it. I think you should
stay a deep girl. How much you want to sell
your jeep for? Maybe, yeah, but Adelin actually needs that's
the problem. Her car has like one hundred and eighty
thousand miles.

Speaker 1 (27:05):
Yeah. I was gonna say it this way, it'll trade in.
That is the cool thing about Jeeps, as they trade
in pretty well. I don't know now the way that
the cars are selling for and everything, but they hold value. Yeah, yeah,
they do really well. But I think so. I mean,
I've always really wanted ever since I got that one
and I found out the new one had a button
that you press and the whole top goes back. I
really wanted them.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
Oh they showed us those, and my my niece was like, yeah,
that's not in my budget, so can we just look
at the older models? But it did look really really easy.

Speaker 1 (27:35):
Well, because I've had this deeper so long and I
can never take the top off because it's too heavy.
You need like two or three people to do it
so it's never come off. I'd love the button where
you just press it and it goes back or goes
back on.

Speaker 2 (27:47):
And some of the colors they have right now, the
new colors, I was obsessed like some of those, the
new colors of the Bronco. There's like these blues and greens.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
That are very subtle, not like the bright colors.

Speaker 2 (28:01):
Kind of Yeah, I'm.

Speaker 1 (28:04):
Stick with the Jeep.

Speaker 2 (28:05):
Morgan, don't live it up.

Speaker 1 (28:06):
You're like, I like it. I you see why you
did it. Yeah, yeah, I know. So it's one of
those things where I'm like, dang, because I do like it.
They do just drive a little bit rougher. They meant
to be an adventure car. So we'll see. I want to.
But you know, as an adult, I'm like, dude, should
I be starting to think differently and need to trade over?
Can I always be the cool girl with the jeep?

Speaker 2 (28:24):
I think you can keep the jeep. But if you're
having those feelings, maybe you just get rid of the ducks.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
But the ducks are part of the deep thing, you know,
it's the whole picture.

Speaker 2 (28:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (28:34):
Anyways, is there something that maybe you're like, Okay, is
this ever? Is this part of my identity forever, or
am I going to give it up? Or anything that
comes to mind. As I'm talking about the jeep scenario.

Speaker 2 (28:44):
Man, I've been trying to think of something, and I'm
not going to give up my three pound dumbbells. My
walking weights. Oh, I mean, that's been a part of
my identity for a very long time and I love them.
I went on a little walk last night with my
little weights. Now I have those cute ball at like
the bracelet things that yeah, you know, can buy, but

(29:08):
sometimes I don't really know where those are, and I'll
just grab my little dumbbells and I go for my
walk or I'm in the kitchen sometimes i'll do some
of my like while I'm waiting for dinner to cook
or something.

Speaker 1 (29:20):
I have them.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
They're out and I like them. They that's the amount
I lift. And I went to a workout class with
my niece, since my daughter, and my friend a couple
of saturdays ago, and they were all lifting so heavy,
which is great. I used to lift heavy, and if
you want to lift heavy, you should. And I went
over to the person leading and I said, do you

(29:41):
have any three pounds? So I'm not going to give
that up. That's your identity, that is Yeah, and they
make fun of me, and I'm like, I don't I
don't care. I got my three pound.

Speaker 1 (29:51):
Yeah, but you've seen it all the time, and that's
different than like.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
Was all the time. And I don't mean to say,
like every night while dinner's cooking, that's what I do
and what I That just popped in my head because
adel and I were talking about on my podcast this week.
She was making fun of me, and I wasn't even
working out. I was using them to do my brain
exercises because I do things where I alternate my right
arm with my left leg, so it's you're alternating the

(30:16):
left and the right sides with the upper and the
lower and it activates different parts of your brain. So
I was doing my brain gym but using my three
pound pink dumbbells.

Speaker 1 (30:26):
I'd see my point being doing all those It's like
you couldn't do all those things with fifteen pound weights
on each side, you know what I mean. Like, so
it makes sense that that's what you're utilizing to do
a lot of these things. So I applaud it. I
think it's great, thank you, and you should never let
it leave your identity, yeah, and have them forever. Okay,
I think that's all for us today. Is there anything

(30:46):
else you want to add, anything you want to talk
about before we leave?

Speaker 2 (30:48):
Well, I did the episode with adelin this week and
it's been really special having her in town. And so
our latest episode we talked about four totally different things.
It was fun to take the podcast back to the
OG style the way I intended it, where it's four
very random things like first thing, second thing. I Over
the years, it's flowed on. Sometimes I have a full

(31:12):
interview and I'll just do four things gratitude with the
guest or somehow four things is tied into it. But
it was fun to take it back o G. And
we talk about rare skincare tips. We talk about solo
dates and.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
Have you changed yourself on a solo date?

Speaker 2 (31:30):
Well, we talk about it okay, and go listen okay,
and then I'll listen to your podcast on Monday. So
then we share a tip for relaxing quickly, like if
you feel like you're in fight flight freeze, there's a tip.
It's the acronym t IPP and you walk. You can

(31:51):
walk yourself through the t the I the P or
the P and it'll help. And then I talk about
why I want to dig up my dad, dig up
his ash. I've got I have a plan. I just
don't know if my siblings are going to get on board.
But that's our episode and it was fun recording that
with her, and I wish she could stay forever. She's
been my little buddy.

Speaker 1 (32:11):
But is that your guys' last episode together?

Speaker 2 (32:13):
Well, she's here next week, so I think I'm gonna
wrangle her in for one more episode and then she
can hit the road. But so maybe next week will
be the final, even though this week I felt like
it might be. But it's too fun talking with her.
