Speaker 1 (00:00):
Monday edition of The Clay and Buck Show gets going
right now, Veterans' Day edition. Let's kick off this show
with a big thanks from the bottom of our hearts
to every veteran of.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
The United States military.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
It is a particular point of pride for Clay and
for me that we have so many veterans and so
many active duty who listen to this show all over
the world. We love when we see our little download maps,
and we have people on military bases in the Koreas
and or sorry South Korea, not both of them, South

(00:37):
Korea and in Germany. And maybe Kim Jong UN's a
big fan too. We never know, you never know. I mean,
we are pretty we are pretty good. We've been on
the money lately. Kim Jong Un maybe like these guys
know something, but no, seriously, we thank all of the
veterans the bottom of our hearts. What you do is well,
what you do makes everything about America that is beautiful,
that is free, and that is prosperous possible.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
So thank you so much. On this Veterans Day.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
And I think everybody has said celebrate Trump's victory over
the weekend, will celebrate Veterans Day today. Maybe do something
fun this week or this weekend as well. We have
a lot of news to get to. I've got some
there's sort of the aftermath component of this, and that'll
be a lot of fun because Clay, the libs, the
shattered dreams of the communists, it is so fascinating to wow,

(01:25):
you assess Morning Joe. Now, I know you shared a clip,
but as we'll get into this in detail, I'm sure,
but how would you assess their overall emotional state? The
entire legacy media apparatus is in full gaslighting mode. Everything
that they said before today about Trump is hitler. It's

(01:45):
the end of democracy. They just act like they didn't
say it. They're just moving forward. I'm gonna tell you
there were parts of Morning Joe. I was watching this
morning that you could have aired parts of it that
you could have aired on Fox News and people would
have been like, Oh, they gotta get a new show
on Fox News. They are moving in a They're talking

(02:06):
about how wokeness is corrosive and how wokeness is crazy
and identity politics is poison. This is on MSNBC, so
we will get into and all of that. Clay, I
have some facts and figures for the aftermath here, but
I also want to say we're going to dive into
the future. Last week was victory dance week, Clay and
I doing little dances do The Trump Dance is amazing, beautiful,

(02:28):
probably the most beautiful election of all time. And this
week we can still bask in that glow. But now
the work gets going. Now the agenda, the future, the mission,
the mission of Trump two point zero, save America, save
Western civilization. Along with it that starts right now are

(02:49):
the appointments being made, transition stuff underway, and Clay, the
Senate battle. We'll talk about Senate leadership, how they are
angling to get appointees through recess appointments. A ton of
stuff going on there. So we're gonna switch a little
bit back and forth Today've also got some great guests
come up later, Riley Gains, how much the trans issue
and men and women's sports played into this. At Attorney

(03:12):
General Schmidt will be with us as well, talking about
stuff in this on the Senate side, So we'll dive
into all of that. But Clay, just a few figures
that we have now. Donald Trump has now clinched the
biggest popular vote count by a Republican ever, seventy four
point six million and chain, so we'll call it basically

(03:34):
on the way to seventy five million votes, which beats
the second highest number ever, which was Trump at seventy
four million votes. Eighty percent of counties, eighty percent of
counties nationwide moved to the right in this election. House
Republicans look like they are about to take the majority

(03:55):
unless something crazy happens in California and Arizona. And we've
got a couple of announcements, including Tom Homan as ICE Director.
Tom's a good man, I know Tom, We've had him
on the show.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
At least.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Stefana coming out of Congress is going to be US
ambasadory the United Nations play. It feels like they're assembling
the A team and they're hitting the ground running, no doubt.
Steven Miller, our friend who's been on this show a
ton of times, is going to be deputy chief of
Staff underneath of Susie Wiles's leadership. I would, I mean,

(04:27):
so far on the announcements of the new Trump administration,
I think he gets an A plus. There doesn't seem
to be anybody out there that is sort of a sniveling,
you know, like oh, I hope the New York Times
likes me. I hope the Washington Post is going to
be favorable to me. It's just died in the wall.

(04:48):
I know what my role is. I'm gonna show up
and I'm going to go to work, and I love
everything about the move so far. Now we have Attorney
General coming. We'll talk a bit with Eric Schmidt. At
one point thirty Missouri senator. He took himself out of
the running for AG. He's had a lot of wins
when it comes to big tech. We'll see what he
thinks about who the AG is going to be. You

(05:09):
mentioned Riley Gaines is going to be with us, but
I would say AG and Secretary of State Buck are
the next really big announcements to drop. We should also
mention that Trump has said that Nicky Hayley and also
Mike Pompeo will not be in his administration. So he
has gone ahead and kneecapped a couple of people out

(05:29):
there that were being pushed. And we've also got to
figure out Senate Majority leader, which is a big decision
that's going to be made by Wednesday. That's a huge
thing right now because that goes to the Trump cabinet.
It goes to all the appointees that have to be
Senate confirmed. I think there's twenty something of them. And
it goes then to also the machinery the Senate will

(05:51):
have in place for judges. We'll dive into this play.
I was up late last night reading about all this
to make sure that the history and you know, and
I have a clarity on how this fight is likely
to transpire. I think you and I agree that this
administration they've got eighteen months to change and possibly save
the country. I mean, that's really how I see it.
They've got eighteen months. It's not four years, yes, four

(06:13):
years for it all to play out. But within eighteen
months they've either set this thing on a footing that
is truly making America great again, or they're getting stymied
by the machine. It is going to be a fight.
No one should have any illusions. The bureaucracy is tough.
The bureaucracy will on the swamp. The fourth branch of

(06:35):
government will fight with everything that they have. You know,
I think you mentioned this. Pompeo and Nikki Haley, they
both ran against Trump, and there he said they're not
welcome in this Now, to be fair, he was actually
pretty gracious about it. He just said, look, they're great,
love them. They're not a part of this Trump two
point zero term. He wasn't taking swings at them. But

(06:57):
I think that what that is, Clay, is a recognition
that the establishmentarian Republican or the establishment Republican is not
going to be able to kind of work their way
into the center of the Trump administration because he had
too much of that in the first term. Too many
people who all of a sudden thought they knew better

(07:18):
than the commander in chief, and they started going and
winding to the New York Times, and some of them
even ended up turning on him entirely, and you know,
getting contracts at CNN or ABC or whatever. So that's
all where we see it. I got to tell you,
we'll dive into that Senate confirmation issue right now, which
has to do with whether, well, who will be the
Senate majority leader. We know Republicans have won the Senate,

(07:39):
We've got a few candidates, and how should top appointees
go through Because Democrats, I'll give you the backstory on this.
It was incredibly just underhanded and gross what they did
in twenty sixteen to Trump. We'll discuss that, But Claike,
can we just throw out there. I don't know if
you and I have exactly the same picks. I have
a feeling we're pretty similar. We know Stephen Miller, friend

(08:02):
of the show, brilliant guy. Can't say enough good things
about him him being Deputy chief of staff in the
White House, assuming that you know we've been that's been reported.
Couldn't think of a better pick for that. Tom Holman
couldn't think of a better pick for ice. Susie Wiles
just ran the best campaign that we've seen for the
biggest victory we've seen in decades, So you know, congrats
and hats off to her as White House Chief of Staff.

(08:25):
Here's here's my others, if I can throw them out there.
Caroline Levitt for White House Press Secretary, another another friend
of the show. We see talent here. I'm just saying,
we know people who have got the skills. Mike Lee
Ted Cruz would be great too, but I think he
wants to stay in the Senate. Mike Lee for Attorney General,
what do you think? I think he would be fabulous.

(08:46):
He's super smart, he understands the mechanics, of how the
Department of Justice works. There are guys that are not
as constitutionally savvy that have been in the mix. I
think that Mike Lee, if he's the choice, and we
ask Eric Schmidt who he thinks the choice could be,

(09:06):
would be a great, great choice because I've said the
attorney General, to me, is the most important decision. Trump
has look all of the cabinet matters, but I think
the Department of Justice is more broken right now than
it has ever been in any of our lives. And
we need someone who can go in with a sledgehammer

(09:26):
and just return the Department of Justice to its message,
which is treat everyone equally under the law, regardless of
their politics, race, gender, religion, all those things. And we
haven't had that for so long. This woke identity politics
virus has infected our Department of Justice. Has to be
broken up, has to be fixed. That's the one that
I care about the most. I think Mike Lee, if

(09:48):
he's the choice, would do really well. Yes, I've heard
some names that are in the mix for Secretary of
State right now, Marco Rubio, Rick Renelle, and we've all
these are all the names that are being bandied about
who's the third. That's Bill Haggard, Senator from Tennessee.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
Senator Hagridy.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
You know, I think all they're all competent, and I
think they're all dedicated to the Trump mission. So I
don't have a particular standout in mind among that crew.
The Secretary of State under Trump administration is going to
have to deal with dismantling this axis that has grown
big peace in the Wall Street Journal over the weekend

(10:27):
on this where you have now Russia selling its oil
to China and China supporting North Korea with otherwise North
Korea would fall apart in starved death, while North Korea
sends soldiers to fight on the front lines of the
Ukraine War. There is an axis and then using Iranian
and probably North Korean missile technology and sharing that high

(10:51):
level military know how between these various countries. There's some
real concern there. So you have a Secretary of State
has got some big problems, I know, China, Taiwan, Israel.
Although people are saying, do you see Doug Murray on
this one? He was great Doug Murray on the Mid
East and Israel right now, it is the best opportunity
I know Israel has been through hell. We know it

(11:11):
was just the worst imaginable terror talk on October seventh.
But the Israeli people have rallied, they have fought back
against their enemies, and Israel is now in a better
place strategically in the Middle East than anytime I can
remember in my lifetime, because they've just decided the enemies
are no longer going to be allowed to stay on
the battlefield. So there's a lot to do, there, a
lot to see. I just got to say, Clay, overall

(11:33):
the feeling, and I'm talking to people as you are
who are working on this very closely. This Trump team,
even they would admit first time around twenty sixteen, it
was kind of like, yeah, we'll figure it out. You know,
we're gonna build the plane as we fly it a
little bit.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
That was what it was. Right.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
Trump was an outsider. This is looking like a well
oiled machine that wants to get after the agenda day one,
and I love to see it, no doubt. And when
Trump came in in sixteen, remember there were still a
lot of people inside the party that did not believe
in a lot of what he had run on. That
doesn't exist now. So Mike Johnson. We're going to have

(12:08):
a Senate majority, sorry, a House majority. That's going to
be announced soon. I think maybe as soon as today.
We'll have officially two eighteen in and then the Senate,
we'll talk about this a lot during the course of
the program, has got to pick their majority leader. But
I think everybody's going to be moving in concert. And
what you said, Buck is so important. You only really

(12:29):
have eighteen months to get things done, and everybody starts
running for the midterms, Trump will become a lame duck.
Everybody will start running for president right after the midterms.
Eighteen months to alter the trajectory of the country, fix
a lot of what is wrong. That's when you have
to hit the ground running, and it sounds like Republicans
are going to be prepared to do that on a
variety of fronts. I'm prepared hopefully to get you some

(12:52):
more winners from Prize Picks, because this is one of
the most fun apps out there. If you're a fan
like I am, of college football in the NFL, another
amazing weekend, Buck, You're gonna have a new favorite NFL player.
Nick Bosa was fined for his MAGA hat, but now
he got a sack, and he in the entire forty
nine Ers defensive line picture hall the San Francisco forty

(13:15):
nine Ers fans who voted for Kamala with tears running
down their cheeks as they also are clapping as Nick
Bosa is doing the Trump dance as celebration for his sack.
I'm telling you things have changed in sports in a
big way and you can have some fun. Texas, California, Georgia.
If you're feeling left out, Florida, Tennessee, where I live,

(13:39):
you thirty plus states can get fifty bucks right now

(14:21):
Welcome back in Clay Travis buck Sexton show rolling through
the Monday edition. I bet a lot of you had
a lot of fun over the weekend, still celebrating the
big Trump win. I gotta be honest, I find myself
every now and then just walking around smiling, like just
thinking about what an unbelievable, outstanding victory Tuesday night was,

(14:41):
and then watching the fallout. Buck, you and I were
just talking about this off air. I just see an
entirely different response than what happened in sixteen. In sixteen,
it was a stun disbelief that he could ever have won.
In twenty four, not only because he won, but also
because he's gonna win the popular vote, there is just

(15:03):
a resignation almost that is setting in of hey, we lost,
and this whole idea of the resistance, the Women's March
and everything else. I just I think it's broken in
many ways. Compared to sixteen, Trump is now they are
recognizing just they're not gonna be able to get rid
of him. That's why I think it's interesting for you

(15:24):
to be watching behind enemy lines on MSNBC. There isn't
like this steel spine. We've got to bow up and
stand up against him. It's on some level a recognition
that they blew it and that Trump is far more
popular than they maybe had imagined. I think they realize
that when you've said that someone's gonna be hitler, and

(15:45):
then very rapidly it will be clear to everybody he's
not hitler. He's actually gonna be great. It's gonna go
really well for the country. You're gonna see the economy,
You're gonna see energy production, you're gonna see.

Speaker 2 (15:54):
Rule of law.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
I mean, so many things are gonna be going well,
and people maybe can't even start to think they're not
a little less about politics. Wouldn't that be amazing? Not you,
we want you to think about politics a lot of the
time listening to us, But I mean, just generally in
the country, people must be able to just, you know,
just dial it down a little bit, not to worry about,
you know, the woke insanity and the faucy eye madness

(16:16):
and all these things we've been having to deal with.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Wouldn't that be great?

Speaker 1 (16:19):
But it's very hard for the media to process this
for their audience without looking like the total frauds that
they are.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
That's really where this is.

Speaker 1 (16:28):
I don't know. I think Trump's arrangement syndrome goes into remission.
I don't think that it is gone gone, but I
think they're gonna have to dial it down for a while.
My belief is that they're gonna wait for either Trump
to really start the deportations and that will become the
new thing, right, that will become the Russia collusion, that
will become the central rallying point of the madness. Or

(16:51):
they're just hoping for some kind of a systematic financial correction,
which we're unfortunately overdue for, I hate to say it,
everybody in the markets, and then blame it all on Trump.
That's what I see them doing. I also think you're
going to start to see an audition for who is
going to be running in twenty eight and they're going
to try to define themselves by being opposed to Trump
to elevate themselves in the Democrat Party. I would expect

(17:14):
aoc Newsome, Pritzker, Whitmer, Shapiro. There's going to be a
bunch of those guys, governors and AOC, I would say,
angling to try to be the lead alternative to Trump.
You see that reporting that Shapiro didn't want the VP slot.
I said it on the show. Do you see this?
This is how I did see that. I also think

(17:35):
it's smart for him to say that now, to be
fair because she's lost, and then that makes him look smarter,
It elevates him, and they're going to hide Kamalin. We'll
talk about but she can we come back? She could
light him up. I mean just saying, like, you know
that that's a rough game to play if you really
wanted it and you didn't. I mean, I see what
you're saying. I'm just saying I think Shapiro knew that

(17:56):
she was not going to pull this off. But oh,
he definitely is excited that you lost. And there's a
lot of those guys out there and gals that are excited.
And by the way, if you want to be excited,
it's Monday. Do you need a little bit more energy
in your life? Check out chalk choq dot com. Our
buddy Seaton born and raised Texan. He's got all of them,

And let's talk for a moment here about the UH

(19:00):
Senate leadership battle, shall we? And what is being discussed
right now? What's going on? We'll talk to I think
I said ag Schmidt before he was ag at Missouri.
Now he's a senator. He was being talking about it
for Attorney general, right, But he'll weigh in on the
Senate battle here as a center in just a little
bit with us. But here's here's what's happening as we

(19:20):
sit here, and it's there's a lot going on. The
Confirmation of Trump appointees is absolutely essential for both executing
the agenda and reforming within the system, well really from
atop the system, so that the swamp, the federal bureaucracy

(19:41):
can't do what it did before. This whole hashtag resistance thing,
that crap has got to be eliminated right away. Everybody
who's not on board with the agenda got to be
removed from their position, from the executive branch, from appointee
positions that there cannot be any I'm just not going
to do it. I don't recognize Trump's authority. I had
friends in the stage apartment Clay when Trump won the

(20:03):
first time in twenty sixteen. They were telling me there
are people who were just like, yeah, they can't do
anything to us. We just won't do what he says.
I mean, they were so and they were crying at
their desks. Of course, it was very sad, dyeing their
hair purple again, you know, being lunatics. This is what's
going on right now. We've got a few senators who
are being talked about as possibilities.

Speaker 2 (20:22):
Here at the top of the list.

Speaker 1 (20:24):
Senators John Cornyn of Texas, John Thune of South Dakota,
and Rick Scott of Florida.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
John Thune is the minority whip so it looked like.

Speaker 1 (20:36):
To me at least Clay, Corn and Thune, there's a
lot of Oh, it'll just be one of them, And
people said, hold on a second, Mitch McConnell's legacy does
not necessarily get to just determine how this goes. Trump
has weighed in, Elon has weighed in, many people have,
many people have weighed in on the need to be
able to get nominees through going back that the Democrats

(21:01):
is all history here. The Democrats slow walked in the
most childish ways Trump appointees in twenty sixteen, you know,
you know, creating, you know, just extra long breaks, giving
extra long speeches just to be annoying, just because there
were such babies, because Hillary didn't break the glass ceiling.
So this time around, there's a conversation about recess appointments

(21:24):
and whether a Senate majority leader on the Republican side
is willing to schedule it so that there would be
a recess early after the inauguration, so it would be like,
you know, late January, early February, where critical appointments that
they think they may run into some resistance on could
be made. Clay, what do you think about this so far?

(21:45):
What does it tell us that Rick Scott seems to
be surging as the And oh, can we actually just
real before you waited, real quick? We had him on
remember last week he made his case here to be
sent a majority leader. I read it here before anywhere else.
I'll just tell you this cut one here, this is
in a week go, Mitch McConnell is stepping down. Who,
in your mind, Senator Scott should be the next majority leader?

(22:06):
How do you see it playing out?

Speaker 3 (22:07):
Well, I believe I'm going to be the next majority
leader because I believe what I've been talking about is
exactly what Republican senators want. If I've been talking to
my republic colleagues, as you know, I ran against McConnell
back in twenty two and here's what they want. They
want change, they want to be part of the Trump mandate.
They want to be treated as equals. They wanted to

(22:29):
have a real agenda to get things done. They want
to be part of a team. They know we need
to work with the House. And so that's what I've
been talking about, and I've been talking about since I
ran against McConnell. And and they know I'm a business
guy like Trump, they know I've got a great relationship
with Trump. They've got they know I have a great
relationship with the Speaker.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
Mike Johnson.

Speaker 3 (22:49):
And here's what business guys do. We get results. Our
country is in trouble. That's why Trump won. He's got
a mandate. I think my colleagues know that I'll have
a plan to get Trump's nominations done. I'll have a
plan to get Trump's agenda done. I'll have a plan
to get the tax cuts done. You know, I'll have
a plan to get stuff.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
Done, so I think. But so that was Senator Rick
Scott basically announcing his candidacy in a big way with
us on Thursday. I think it's fair to say that
he has served since that interview. And look, the vote
is supposedly having on Wednesday, it is not public. There
have been all sorts of leaked ideas of who's voting

(23:29):
for who. Some people have put out statements saying who
they support. I think it's going to be very very close.
And I don't know if Trump's going to officially weigh
in and say I want this guy. If he did,
I think that person would be the Senate majority leader.
And Twitter is taking on basically a huge role in

(23:53):
how this vote's going to be shaped, because Thune and
Cornyn have spent decades planning for when Mitch McConnell is
going to step down, the idea that they were going
to be the next man up, so to speak, Senate
majority leader. And now Rick Scott is saying, I've been
the biggest Trump supporter of this trio. Given Trump's popular

(24:15):
vote win and overwhelming landslide, we should be as supportive
as Trump as possible. I will be the guy now.
Fun and Cornnbuck have both been publicly critical of Trump
pretty extensively. Both guys, after the Access Hollywood tape came out,
basically backed as far away from Trump as they could be.

(24:38):
Both guys have been at times impediments to the Trump agenda.
And so I understand why if you are an absolute
MAGA diehard out there, why you would say I don't
want either of these guys. I want Rick Scott to
be the senator who is helming this majority ship. You're

(24:59):
going to have fifty three senators. Congrats to our buddy
Dave McCormick, who is the fifty third lost narrowly. Eric Huvedy,
Mike Rogers Kerry Lake and Sam brown Buck just a
little bit of more of a twist. I think if
Trumpet had a little bit more money, I think if
those guys had had a little bit more money, I
think we'd have fifty seven senators right now because and

(25:21):
that would have been seismic in terms of its overall
legacy and impact. And by the way, hun Cow didn't
lose by very much in Virginia either. A little bit
more money and I think we'd be talking about fifty
seven fifty six ish senators right now. But my thought is,
and I know it's a private vote, I think it
should be a public vote. That would be my biggest takeaway.

(25:45):
Don't do a closed ballot where people don't have to
publicly explain why they're making their choice, and a lot
of senators are coming out and saying, this guy's got
my vote or whatnot. I don't like the idea of
a closed ballot where you aren't able to see who
exactly gets the votes and how your respective senators are voting.
Not to me, seems rational if you're going to give
somebody this big of a job, arguably Buck other than

(26:09):
Mike Johnson in the House Senate majority leader. Alongside of
Trump are the three most important and distinctively powerful jobs
that are going to exist come January twenty five. What
do you think about doing the recess appointments to get
around the growing opposition tactics that Democrats have really been

(26:34):
honing against Trump, to just make things go as slow
and be as annoying as poss I'm all for it,
look I think, and look, I'll say this, as long
as they have the ability to get over fifty, and
we know we're going to get over fifty, presumably all
fifty three Republicans are going to be voting for Trump's nominees.
Once you know you've got the fifty plus one or
the tie break with jd Vance. Basically you have a

(26:56):
three and a half vote majority, because you could lose
three and still break the tie with JD Vance. Like
that's pretty significant. I think the idea of like we're
gonna have grand standing and we're gonna have people fighting
against the Trump appointments. I want everybody in their jobs
at their desks, like go into work as soon as
the inauguration happens. So if that requires recess appointments, because

(27:19):
they're gonna otherwise drag their feet. I'm all for it.
And we're seeing the feet dragging already starting, Buck, and
we're gonna talk about this with Eric Smid at one thirty.
Chuck Schumer is not allowing McCormick to show up for
orientation outright because they're election denying. I get it's just
in Pennsylvania. You know, they have nothing else to do,

(27:41):
so they're trying to throw up whatever smoke screen, whatever
nonsense they can look at. It's very straightforward if you
look at no votes on cabinet nominees by President Clay total, meaning,
you know, counting up every no vote for every cabinet
official from different administrations. Truman thirty seven for fifty, Carter

(28:04):
forty nine, Reagan one hundred and twenty four, Obama four
hundred and six, Trump four hundred and thirty seven. The record,
this is a recent thing. This is an abuse, and
Republicans decided that they don't want to deal with this

(28:25):
nonsense anymore. It's not supposed to be just some opportunity
for foot dragging and grandstanding and pulling fire alarms and
I need a bathroom break. You can't actually get a vote. Sorry,
enough of that, Olinsky. That's all Linsky Crap. I think
you need to get the people that you need in
the roles that they're going to get into anyway, and
these games of delay Trump should just be able to

(28:47):
run a steamroller over it.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
It's nonsense.

Speaker 1 (28:50):
I agree, I agree, and I think all three to
be fair. Trump put this out and all three candidates, Thune,
Cornyn and Rick Scott all said, yeah, he's right. We're
gonna be using recess appointments aggressively to get everybody in
position so they can do their job. So I give
credit to Trump for already saying we got to hit

(29:11):
the ground running. Because to your point, Buck, you got
eighteen months, four years. I understand it's great to think
about you got eighteen months to get everything rolling. I'm
gonna throw a question to you, but I want you
to hold it so that people can listen when they
come back. Is it a mistake once again that Democrats
will regret that Soto Mayor is making by saying she's

(29:33):
not going anywhere, not stepping down? Good? Good question. All right, Look,
President ELEC. Trump is busy, as you know. Chief of
staff has been announced Susie Wiles Tom Homan to oversee
the borders at least aphonic you an ambassador. There are
reasons for tremendous optimism right now, but they have a
massive challenge that they have to tackle, and one of

(29:55):
the biggest ones is the thirty five thirty six trillion
soon to.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
Be in debt that we already have.

Speaker 1 (30:01):
Look, even if they try to start chipping away at this,
the fact of the matter is that we have some
systemic financial issues in this country and the money printing
has not stopped yet. So what can you do to diversify,
to take action today to prepare for an uncertain financial tomorrow.

(32:35):
I was running around busy this weekend with that. I'm
gonna be down in Athens this weekend for the Tennessee
Georgia game, part of Big Noon kickoff for Fox, and
a lot of you out there celebrating all weekend long.
I know, over the Trump win, maybe you need a
little pep in your step caffeinal help, and it's healthy
compared to kosoda. This is the biggest change I've made

(32:57):
over the last few years. I used to not drink
car coffee. I drink Mountain dew all the time, truth,
truth be told. My wife's been on me for years.
I finally gave up soda. I drink Crocketcoffee. It's fabulous.

of my book. I've signed several hundred. They are on
their way out. If you are a subscriber, you should

(33:18):
be getting them over the next ten twelve days, I promise.
With this pin. Actually it's a sharpie pin, but similar
to this pin, I have been signing them. Buck. You
asked the question as we went to break. Is it
a mistake that Sonya Sotomayor is saying now publicly that
she will not step down. She's seventy years old, she
has diabetes. Yeah, I do think. I mean my take

(33:43):
in general is if you cannot fly an airplane for
a big public company, which I think your father in
law would know this better, Buck, because he was a pilot.
But I think the age is basically sixty two or
sixty five I'm not sure which one it is. You're
not allowed to fly a jumbo jet once you get

(34:04):
to that age, because they can tell that your overall
skill set has diminished. If you don't have that ability,
I think that you should you should step down, and
this will become a discussion. I think Buck at some
point over some of the older justices on the Republican

(34:25):
side too. If you desperately care about your legacy and
you want to preserve a constitutional view that you consider
to be so worthy that you have given your life's
pursuit to it, I would encourage people. They know their
health better than most. But once you get over seventy,
lots of things can happen. Yeah, if you already have
diabetes and you're not in great health, like Sonya sotomayor Is.

(34:47):
If I were Democrats, I would want her stepping down because, frankly,
you saw what happened with Ruth Bader Ginsburg. They tried
Buck to brag about how incredible shape she was in,
and now Amy Cony Barrett's on the super those videos.
Step down. Oh yeah, they made all these videos and'
like she's like, yes, I'm bench pressing, look at me now,
and she had like little weights in her hands and stuff,

(35:08):
and there were Ruth Bader Ginsburg like workout dolls. It
was a bizarre cult of RBG. For a while, I
didn't get it so anyway, and it wasn't the right
move to tell her to keep staying in there. Yeah,
you shouldn't be. You know, people get they slow down,
they get older, to spend some time with the grandkids,
or go do some nice charity work somewhere, go do
some pro bono, like give me a break. This is ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (35:30):
You don't be Supreme Court justice though you're one hundred.

Speaker 1 (35:33):
I also think, and this is the sad part, there
are people in all different facets of life. This is
the case she doesn't have anything else. I think that's
the reality. I mean, I hope that when I'm you know,
seventy plus years old, I hope I got a bevy
of grandkids. I hope I'm chasing them around. I hope
that I am kicking my feet up and you know,

(35:54):
relaxing some. I think a lot of these people Sonia
sought to my yours evidence of it. If she doesn't
have that job, what else does she have in her life?
That's why I don't think she's leaving. I would offer
that there's always things that can be done that help
people add that are positive, that are appreciated, that make
a difference. But for some people, they don't want to

(36:17):
give up the reigns of power. That's right. They don't
want to give up being important. And that's a different
thing than having purpose. We all can have purpose every day,
being productive, being kind, being loyal, being helpful, but not
everybody get to be deciding like the fate of the
law system that we live under in the republic.

Speaker 2 (36:36):
Right.

Speaker 1 (36:36):
So you see a bit of that.

Speaker 2 (36:38):
You see a lot of it in media.

Speaker 1 (36:39):
By the way, you know some notices. When we come back, buck,
let's talk about the popular vote and what the significance
may be going forward of the win that Trump just
banged
