Speaker 1 (00:00):
You are listening to the Dan Patrick Show on Fox
Sports Radio Final Hour on this Thursday, Dan and the
Dannett's Dan Patrick Show. We have covered a lot of
ground here over the first two hours. By the way,
vengeance is a dish best served on a football field.
One of the more fun aspects of the schedule release
yesterday seeing the revenge matchups, and it starts with Tom
(00:22):
Brady and the Buccaneers visiting Foxboro week four, Although in
that case, I'm not sure Brady needs any revenge. He
certainly got his last laugh in the Super Bowl with
that victory. Week one, Sam Darnold and the Panthers host
the Jets. Darnold would love to show his former team
what could have been, but he's in a better situation,
it feels like right now in Carolina. Fast forward to
(00:44):
Week seven, Lions Rams, Jared Goff Matthew Stafford against their
former teams. Andy Dalton and the Bears hosting the Bengals,
his former team in Week two. That's his stretch by mclovin.
Justin fields could be starting by then. The big one
would be Aaron Rodgers versus the Packers if he happens
(01:04):
to switch teams. But we're getting way ahead of ourselves.
We don't need extra reasons to watch these games, but
it'd be fun to see some good old fashioned grudge
matches in twenty twenty one. Denver doesn't play Green Bay
this year? Do they, Ton? I don't believe they do.
Check them. Well, maybe we could check with somebody who
follows the Broncos. Let me know if you have anybody, Ton,
(01:27):
I'll figure someone, you know who the Bronchos open up with.
They are at the Giants, yes, and they're favored against
the Giants, like a point than a half or two.
Are you gonna go see the Giants and the Broncos?
I would like to. I just have to decide if
I'm comfortable enough for you know, doing the whole crowd
mask thing. It would be more of a just you know,
post pandemic thing as opposed to not wanting to go.
(01:49):
The other game I'm looking at on my birthday, the
Broncos are at the Steelers Week five, which is October tenth,
same birth Yeah, there's a ten ten Week five Broncos
Steelers game. That'd be great. Yeah, that'd be fun. I
do not see the Packers on the Broncos schedule. Okay,
that would have been interesting if Rogers, if he were
traded going to the Broncos and then facing the Packers.
(02:12):
That's as much as we're going to talk about the
Broncos this season. Yes, yes, Paul. Are they the least
hot franchise right now, assuming they don't acquire Aaron Rodgers
as far as like national interest, least hot? I guess
you know, like they don't have anything new. They don't
They don't seem threatening, They don't have like an interesting coach.
Especially their quarterback situation is definitely not interesting. They don't
(02:34):
have interesting star players, right. It's nothing against the franchise's
great franchise and fan basis not about that. It's about
interest of the roster in the situations. Is there a
tune in factor for the Broncos Zero? Almost yeah, yeah.
The only thing is interesting is every offseason they tend
to look for a quarterback, so they're always in the news.
(02:56):
You have one of the great quarterbacks of all time
in John Elway. Who can find a quarterback? Isn't that amazing?
Like sometimes these guys are so good at what they
do as far as being a player, then when they
get into management, they're looking for themselves and you're not
going to find John Elway. Yeah, mclove. Also, they haven't
(03:17):
gotten the right coach yet, like they haven't like it,
Vic fangios, I mean, where are they going with him?
I have no idea like what they're You're right, there's
just nothing. There's no future here. Yes, you were talking
about what's the hot team this year? The team that
people are going to jump on to be a super
Bowl contender? That's not obvious. Not I think I picked it?
Do you want to guess who? I think the what
(03:38):
do they call it? Kind of SENTI what do you think? Mclove?
And that's that we're cogniscent yea, Yeah, the NFL say, yeah,
they're gonna pick a team and beat it to death
in July. Okay, this is a team that not many
people would pick to be a team that did not
make the playoffs last year, but is very saucy. But
you think the cognis sent here, you're gonna jump on
this they will become Yes, it would be very hot.
(04:02):
Who wants to guess guess that hot team music? We
did music for that. Guess that hot team music? Yeah?
Club Cleveland Browns, No, because they've been the hot team
and they were the Browns made the playoffs, Yeah, they
were eleven to five. Did the Rams Okay, yeah they
made the Rams, made the play but lost to Green Bay.
(04:24):
You could be a team that sneaks in the playoffs
and still be a hot surprise. I'll give you a
team that Chargers. That's right, That was correct? They Yeah,
the La Charge I know hot. Justin Herbert was hotter
than expected last year. Oh and anytime you have players,
anytime you have players who are don't play you to injury,
like Derwin James, you assume they're gonna be healthy the
(04:44):
following year. Yeah. But I've been down this road with
my Chargers before, keenan Allen situation where I go, this
team is going to super Bowl and I don't even
know if they went to the playoffs. Yeah, every year
they're like, what's this guy? I gets healthy? And like
there's someone else gets hurt. Yes, are the Arizona Cardinals
(05:04):
in that hot factor, that category of where people jump
on them? Eight and Nate last year? Yeah, saucy quarterbacks.
I mean I could see them, but I mean I
don't see it happening, but I could see people going, Yeah,
it's getting hot in the desert. Yeah. Are we flirting
with a hot or not segment right now? You want
to run them down and just go hot or not? Oh? Man,
(05:27):
you know what, how about can I do that with
Mena comes from the mothership. She's gonna join us a
little bit. Can I say, can we do hot or not? Yes?
But she's perfect for this Okay, Yeah, the Cognizant day
and I can tell you this. Do not like the Cardinals.
I'll bet you Mina will confirm this. They are not
a hot team. I don't know why. I can't figure
out that there's no buzz. Tom Brady was on Hohodinky
(05:52):
Radio speaking of hot I had the same reaction Dan
when I got this piece of audio. It's uh hod
and Key radio. Oh so that what was? I was like, Dank,
it could be why it's a it's a watch company.
It's his watch company that he partnered with. Oh and
they've developed a series of podcast Oh and coincidentally, one
(06:13):
of their guests was Tom Brady. They pay millions at Allies. Yes,
he Uh they have a good book or two. Huh wow,
it's a good spot. Yeah. Uh. Tom was talking on
hohodinky hod and Key about his career coming to went in,
(06:33):
here's a Tom Brady. I have a lot to give,
and I think there's a lot of time and energy
still focused on being a great quarterback that when that's done,
Although I'm a little fearful of it ending, I am
open to the belief and and I really believe it happened,
there'll be a lot of opportunities for me to do
things that I haven't had a chance to do that
(06:54):
I really think I can really help a lot of people. Okay,
but he said did he he made a whole watch references.
Didn't he like it? He talked about ticking time. So
I see what he's doing. He's trying to bend together
for another year. Watch and see. Yes, mclen I wish
(07:16):
you could have been here for the nine minute conversation
about Holden Key before this show, We're like, this is
gonna be tough to do. Holden Key. It's hard to
tell what it is. It seems like a lifestyle brand
website that sells a lot of watches. I only just
gave a whole lot of publicity. Oh dinky, oh dinky, Yeah, Rodgers,
he's going out and went TB twelve in the off season. Yeah,
(07:36):
I heard that. I heard that that Aaron is doing
the Tom Brady method. Liability. Let's go, that's not going
to play well in Green Bay. Liability is not a word.
They Well, if he's not playing in Green Bay, then
he doesn't have to worry about how it plays in
Green Bay. The Lakers unfurled their banner from this past season.
(08:01):
They seem destined for the seventh seed and the only
way they can avoid the play in tournament as if
they win both of their remaining games on the road,
they play the Pacers and Pelicans, and you have Blazers Mavericks.
One of the two lose both of their games. If not,
you have a play in game situation. Speaking of the Lakers,
you remember when Genie Buss was on All That Smoke
(08:23):
podcast and she talked about the five most important Lakers
of all time. Now, in fairness to Jeanie, she didn't
you know, probably didn't know what the question was going
to be, so off the top of her head, she
gave you the five most important Lakers of all time.
Five most important Lakers of all time. Okay, well, then
(08:44):
then you know you have to start with Kareem yes,
and you know Kobe and Lebron and oh this is
hard magic magic, Yes, of course, mate, My magic might
be number one and important and food does he counts? There?
(09:07):
You go. Now, she didn't come up with a list
and then put it out. She just asked. I mean,
she's forgetting about magic, so you know it's off the
top of her head. But most important lakers of all time.
And then she put Lebron in there, which is Lebron
is not in there, shouldn't be in there. Phil Jackson
(09:28):
shouldn't be in there. Now. I put pat Riley in
there before I would fill and she left out elgin
Baylor because elgin Baylor, to me, is the reason why
we you know, the LA has the basketball team because
he was the first African American star in the NBA.
He was before Bill Russell, before Will Chamberlain. Elgin Baylor
(09:51):
never got to prime time. You know, he hurt his
knee and you know, never had that opportunity to play
in big games on national TV. He missed the TV era.
But you look at his stats and elgin Baylor, plus
everything he went through race wise just to be able
to play in the NBA he's up there and Jerry
(10:12):
west like Jerry west over Phil and Lebron combined. Here
is Jerry west On Peter Vessey's podcast. Who do sure
I saw the other day? Who Genie busses at a
statement that the five most important Lakers one of the
most offensive things I've ever heard in my life, really offensive. Well,
(10:37):
this is why I was there a lot of a
lot of times and a lot of success, and would
curious to be curious to know why if they would
have had that success if I hadn't been there and
we had Pete, we had a little small staff. And
I don't ever take credit for stuff. I don't, but
when I was around, maybe I would just a good
(10:58):
luck to him, Okay, But I do know that when
this thing fell apart, there was a lot of years
that they weren't very good. All right, The relationship between
Jerry weston Lakers is not good. Genie didn't put out
a statement in fairness. I don't know if if Peter
Vessey gave the context of exactly played the audio for
Jerry just so he understood Genie's asked about it, and
(11:22):
she probably, you know, when it was all said and
done and go oh, my god, how did I leave
out the logo? It just feels like it's out of
context all of this here. But yeah, Jerry should be there,
Elgin Baylor should be there, Magic should be there. If
you want to put Kareem in there, you can put
(11:44):
him in there. You want to put pat Riley in there,
and can put him in there, But Lebron should not
be in there. Genie dated Phil Phil did you know
some wonderful things there? I don't know. I go back
to the sort of the founding father of this, not
those who are arriving. I mean, it feels like Anthony
(12:04):
Davis is soon joining that list. Yeah, the Lakers feel
like sixty minutes and you're like a new correspondent on
sixty minutes, you know, in the past five years. And
no nothing against Lebron. James's doing fantastic. He's great for them,
but he's like the new correspondent at sixty minutes. They've
been doing this for fifty years and they've been a
household name, and the Lakers were built and became a
(12:27):
household name with forty years ago, a two years ago. Yeah,
but I'm trying to be fair to Jeannie given the
context of this then when it was asked, count was
asked and if I gave her a do over, that's
what I would want to know. Does she change anything?
I'm assuming that she would. Even if there's bad blood
(12:47):
between Jerry West and the Lakers, and there was reportedly
bad blood between Jerry West and Phil Jackson. Still the
Lakers without Elgin and Jerry West would not be the Lakers.
And you know Will it's not in there. But I
(13:09):
could see obviously magic is in there. You want to
put Kareem in there, and you want pat Riley in there.
I don't know if there's anybody body else. And then
if you want to extend it and have Phil in there, great,
you know anybody else that we're missing there. But to
leave out Jerry and put Lebron in there, that I
(13:32):
could understand where Jerry feels like, that's a slap in
the face. By the way, did you know that the
play in tournament is sponsored State Farm is sponsoring the
play in Tournament? Come on, that's too far. That is
just too far. Well, this is a money grab for
the owners because the owners didn't have fans last year
(13:54):
and it was in a bubble, and you know they
didn't make the owners make their money in the postseason.
And that's why they're going to continue with this play
in tournament because that's more games. And now we got
a title sponsor, the State Farm play in tournament. They
just they're gonna get some money out of it. I look,
(14:15):
I understand it. But if you got a big sponsor,
this isn't going away. This isn't one of these one
or two year gimmicks. It's like, I don't know, we
can we got we got millions coming in from State Farm. Here.
I get to see Jake, Yeah, Paul? Did they did
the NBA just slide this in under like the COVID era,
where hey, we're down in money, we got to do
this play in thing. And they tried it last year
(14:38):
in the bubble. Did the players unions veto it object
did they fight it at all? I have no idea.
It was one of those where I looked up and
I went, okay, playing tournament all right. The players seem
like they're blindsided by this. Well, I don't know if
they know there's a title sponsor here. Yes. Time. I
kind of thought they were accepting it as a one
off thing that you know as PAULI was saying that
they were gonna, you know, increase chats of because it's
(15:00):
just such a weird year, and then all of a
sudden it's stuck. Whether they got to full permission from
the Players Association or U. Yeah, it's uh feels like
it's here for good. Is it an anti tanking policy?
Is that the roots of it? Oh? So okay, so
that's why they had it, so ten teams will play
and not give up on the season. Yeah, I'm fine
(15:20):
with games at the end of the season meaning more.
I mean, that's why we're adding more playoff spots in
the NFL. Yeah, pull, If you qualify for the play
in Tournament, you're the ten nine or ten seed, are
you no longer in the draft lottery? Because that would stink.
If I'm the Spurs, I mean, or I'm the Washington Wizards,
I don't know if I'd want to be in the
(15:42):
play in Tournament. I'd rather camp out in the lottery
trying to get a good player. You're not win anything. Yeah, dude,
I saw or heard a coach criticizing the play in
Tournament because it was unfair to the top seeds in
that they don't know who they're facing in the first
round of the tournament, because that team still has to
win their way in, so they actually have less time
to prepare than say a three or four seed who
(16:03):
knows exactly who they're facing. Yeah, if you if you're
like the Indiana Pacers or the Memphis Grizzlies, and and
you win the playoff tournament, do you put the shirt
on your website? Like if you're like the division you know,
wild Car Week winners, they put it on for a
week and sell T shirts. You used in Texans do
this every year they win a wild card game and
they put the T shirts on. Yeah. Oh, by the way,
(16:24):
I'm getting deluged by friends saying, hey, knucklehead, you forgot
shack Er Kobe in the list. You're right off the
top of my head. I'm giving you Elgin, Baylor, Jerry West,
Kareem Magic, and you want to put Kobe in there?
Absolutely yes, seton. That's why doing those lists off the
top of your head soup and shouldn't be taken serious.
Exactly exactly you do it lime on the air and
(16:47):
then call me. I got my friends are saying, hey, idiot,
hey knucklehead. All right, I thought I did well with
Elgin and Jerry West and pat Riley in there. Magic.
Let me give you my friend Ted's phone number and
you can call him. Do it one time, my good
(17:07):
buddy Ted. I'll give you his phone number here. Uh,
let me see. Todd just sent me the nine seed
faces the number ten seed in each conference. The loser
of the game is eliminated from playoff contention and will
be in the lottery. So that works out. But if
you're if you're one of those two teams, do you
really want to win the game? Do you want to
(17:29):
be in the lottery. The State Farm play and Tournament
you're saying, oh no, no, my bad, an show some respect. Yeah,
it's not the play in tournament. It's the state fall
on the State Farm that year, Yes you did? Yeah, yeah,
hey we won State. They should they should make the
team that wins this role out of banner. They should make,
should give them a banner State Farm champion. Yeah, give
him rings never forget. Yeah, have Jake there, have Drake there,
(17:51):
Aaron Rodgers, big ceremony. That's great. Meta chimes will give
us some class here into horm Shu. John is coming
up here. Yes, my club, I send you an email.
You can look at it in the break. That's gonna
it's gonna upset you. I know it is. It's a
Lakers hierarchy that I just feel will make you bad.
I don't know why. It's once you get riled up
(18:14):
our rankings, it's fun to see you keep going. So
this is based on impact with the team, yes, and
who base Who's the one basing the impact on the team.
This went viral last week and I still have no
idea where it came from some random basketball Twitter for you. Okay,
but I think people have to understand Elgin Baylor, his
role with the franchise moving to Los Angeles, and that
(18:40):
he was the first African American star in the in
the NBA. And then you bring in Jerry West. That's
how you that you established a foothold there because you
had really good players. You want Kobe Magic, Kareem absolutely,
shack in there. Absolutely, I'm fine with all of those,
but you can only have five. And if you're putting
(19:01):
in coaches, I'm putting in pat Riley, not Phil Jackson.
And I'm not putting in Lebron James right now, right
let me take a break. You're right you got me
a little bit fired up trying to defend my guy
Jerry West here and the late Elgin Baylor. All right,
we'll take a break twenty after the hour. We'll talk
(19:23):
a little bit more about the schedule. And I got
a great question for men to Kimes coming up, Dan
Patrick Show. When you choose a company to do business with,
what's really important to you? What are the options, value,
customer service, and why not all of those things you
should be demanding it, not saying I hope I get
some of that. That's why I partnered with American Financing,

(21:30):
Dog lover herself the NFL analyst, senior writer, podcast host,
TV contributor Mina Kimes Show with Lenny, a weekly podcast
about football and more, and Mina joins us Now, good morning, Mina, Hey,
good morning. I got a question to start out with,
and it has something to do with the end result
(21:50):
of this season. That is, I'm going to give you
all the quarterbacks who were thirty three and older, or
all the quarterbacks who were younger than thirty three. Russell
Wilson turns thirty three this year, so he's in the
older category. You can have all the quarterbacks who wins
his Super Bowl, the younger quarterbacks this year or the
older ones. I'm gonna go younger. As long as Patrick
(22:16):
Mahomes is in the league, I gotta go younger. What
did you take away from the schedule as far as
who the networks is there a team where they're looking
at somebody that maybe would be a surprise team this
year based on what the schedule showed. Well, I would say,
actually this is not what you ask but I thought
(22:38):
it was interesting that the Packers got five primetime games.
I don't know if that network does anything. We don't know,
you know, whether or not, because gosh, without Aaron Rodgers,
that would be quite a quite a load for Jordan
Love to be on primetime that much. But now I
was surprised actually not to see more Brown's charge Jers
(23:00):
in prominent spots because those are two kind of young,
exciting AFC contenders. And yeah, clearly the networks didn't agree.
We saw some ravens though. What about the Bears? And
at what point is Justin Field's going to be the
starting quarterback? You know, I've been saying loudly, maybe a
(23:20):
little too loudly on our network. I would start him
week one, but they are playing the Rams obviously in
that Sunday night opener, and that is a challenging defense.
To throw him to start that Bears offensive line against
Aaron Donald is not a pretty formula. I could see
them waiting three or four weeks, but you know, with
(23:41):
Matt n Aggie's job on the line and that offensive
line and Andy Dalton in place, I don't see it
lasting long. How much of an improvement is the quarterbacking
position for the Rams. It's pretty significant, you know, the
downfield element that Stafford brings to the game has been
(24:02):
so lacking with Jared Goff, And you know, it all
sort of came to ahead at the end of the
season when it really became clear that Sean Kavey would
rather start his backup from the after John Woolford, who
I love these preseason games I called but here it
was curiosity right that Jared Goff wasn't playing, even though
(24:23):
his injury was dubious. But I think that was something
that was brewing all year, frustration with GOP's ability to
create outside of the pocket, his lack of accuracy throwing
the ball downfield, his propensity turned it over over the middle.
And I think Magice Stafford is a massive step up
for them. But do you have the Chargers and Rams
(24:45):
both as contenders? I do. I feel like every year
the NFL media is too high on the Chargers and
every year we get slapped down. And I know Justin
Herbert is like a prime regression candidate, you know, being
sort of hot rookie season that came out of nowhere,
but he was playing behind one of the worst offensive
ones in football. Our past block litterrate metric has them
(25:08):
as the second worst in the NFL, worst in the Bengals,
who we talk about like Joe Burrow was playing behind
wet paper towels. And they upgraded incredibly along the line,
like clearly poared a ton of resources. They're adding Corey Linsley,
best center available, Rashons later, Jack doesn't Harrow what's fantastic
last year under a pressure, Imagine how good he'll be
(25:29):
with some time in the pocket and knock on wood
Derwin James coming back. So I'm very high on the charters.
Are the Cardinals a hot team? There's always that like
three or four teams that go you know, from sort
of nowhere up to the top, make the playoffs or
do they go from last to first? Where do you
stand on Cardinals? I didn't high on the Cardinals as others,
(25:52):
particularly because they play in the post apocalyptic heldscape that
is the NFC West, But also there's still massive his
issues with this team in the secondary. I think that
they didn't add enough playmakers to take some of the
heat off of DeAndre Hopkins. With all due respect to
AJ Green, who I think is in the over thirty
(26:13):
three crowd or plays like it at this point, I think,
rather than calling him the hot team. I would say
Cliff Kingsbury should be on the hot seat because he
came into this league as a sort of questionable hire.
The Cardinals offense went from the worst in the NFL
to average, and I think he really benefited from that comparison.
But last year they regressed. Kyler Murray didn't take a
(26:36):
leap forward as a passer. It really brought a lot
to the game with his legs, and in my mind,
if he doesn't Kyler doesn't take another step forward in
his development this year, I would be really if I
was a Cardinals fan, I would direct my ire towards
Cliff Kingsbury. We're talking to me at times. You can
watch her with Dan Orlovsky, Marcus Spears, Laura Rutledge, Shawn
(26:59):
NFL I have every weekday at four Eastern on the
Mother's Ship. When Russell Wilson came on our show and
then the fallout after that subsequently, did did Seattle address
what they needed to address or did russ get did
he hear what he needed to hear? I right it
to you that I have to personally blame for a
three weeks, so the debate hell being put especially Oh yeah,
(27:23):
how do you feel about losing a quarterback? I provided
content for the media for a month mina and no
one thanked me. I'm okay, you know what, thank you.
It wasn't like a moment in the year when we
really needed it, like right now. Aaron Rodgers they single
handedly saving the sports media industry and we should all
(27:44):
be seeing hosannas and his name. And you know he
is carrying us because you know, I'm on an NFL
show Dan every day, one hour a day. June is
the desert and Aaron Rodgers is pouring this water into
our mouth. He is an oasis for us. And you
did do that with Russell, and I suppose I do
(28:05):
owe you some thanks for that, even though personally it
caused me great, great emotional distress. But Kenney, I never
thought he was leaving. And I also think that he
seems to be pretty satisfied with what Seattle's done, you know,
going out training for Gabe Jackson from the Raiders to
shore up the interior of the offensive mind signing Jerald
Everett tight End from the Rams, I thought that was
(28:28):
he was previously with the Rams. I thought I was
a sneaky good signing and then drafting a wide receiver
a real speed stirred Dwayne Eskridge with their first pick
in the draft. All really smart picks, but for Wilson,
you know, wouldn't look at the struggles at the second
half of the last season. It wasn't because of the
lack of protection. It was really schematic and some of it,
(28:49):
frankly had to do with Wilson himself. So that's would
I'll be watching for with Seattle early on to see
if they've if new offensive coordinator Shane Walter and has
cured those ills. Did the Niners make themselves better in
the draft, Yes, unfortunately they did. I was really rooting
for the mac Jones pick as a Seahawks fan. Um
(29:11):
I said this, you know, it kind of hit me
really a few days later that Kyle Shanahan's is the
most devastating run game designer in football. He's done all
that without a mobile quarterback, without an extra threat to
change the numbers. I am terrified at the concoctions, you know,
the the nightmarish scenarios. Every linebacker in the league saw
(29:32):
that and mentally screamed, uh And it's you know, just
wetting themselves at night thinking about what Shanahan and Trey
Lance are going to do wetting themselves at night. I
think it's a mentally winning Okay, Okay, okay, I didn't
know if you could confirm a little less graphic. Yeah,
confirm that or not. The Tim Tebow situation. Anybody apoplectic
(29:53):
on the NFL Live set there, Um, Yeah, I was not.
I tried to be very clear about this. No one's angry, Okay,
I'm not angry at Tim Tebough. Tim Tebow can pursue
whatever dream he wants. I'm still making terrible paintings in
the hopes that you know that lies down my path
at some point. I am angry, not angry, but I'm
(30:16):
critical of Urban Meyer. This to me reeks of bad management.
And we're talking about a guy who's the primary concern
around er Meyers not whether he can coach football, it's
whether he can manage an NFL team. He comes in,
he hires a strength coach out of Iowa, Chris Doyle,
who was you know, left town because of accusations of
racist behavior. That backfires immediately, and now he pulls this stunt.
(30:40):
It just feels like like running a college team is
like running a mom and pop right, whereas running an
NFL team is like being a CEO. This feels like
mom and pop behavior, and that's what put me off. Yeah,
I'm with you on it, but I don't know. It's
one of those where he's Tebow lives what three doors
down from Urban? They have so much success us together?
(31:00):
Like how does how does Urban say no to Tim Tebow? Um?
He says, I'm now running an NFL team and you're
thirty three years old and you haven't taken a snap
since two thy twelve, when you know Mena. Kimes had
yet to do sports radio, Like, this is not well,
let's do a role playing here. You're You're Urban and
(31:25):
I and I'm okay, you wait, you want to be Tebow? No? No,
I want to be Urban? Okay, okay. So hey, hey coach, Um,
I'm having a barbecue. I'd love for you to come by,
and I wanted to talk to you about something. Um,
I'm kind of thinking that, not kind of thinking, I'm
I want to come and play football. I want I
(31:45):
want to play tight end for you. Tim. There's th three.
You don't have to call me coach anymore. A relationship.
You will always be my coach, and you know that, coach,
I do know that. I'm just trying to help you. Um,
you are incredibly success. Will you make a bazillion dollars
to be an icon to many people? You're on television,
you're writing books. You don't want to block for my
(32:09):
team that's probably not going to win the AFC South, Tim,
you don't want to be mocked because you've never caught
a pass before in the NFL. Or really, I mean, Tim,
this is not really what you want. It sounds like
you miss being part of a team. So why don't
you come on as an assistant. You can hang out
in the locker room. You can give rousing pregame speeches.
(32:32):
You know, I'll give you a game, coach. Coach, hold
my non alcoholic beer. I'm gonna take off my shirt
and I want you to see how jacked I am. Okay,
let me up my offer. Tim, You're not just an assistant.
You're the get back coach. Use those guns to hold
me back on the sideline, just like we have in college,
just like Sean McVay has with that strength guy. You
(32:54):
can be that guy for me, and then you'll get
a ton of camera time too. But you know that
I work out harder than anybody. The game means so
much to me. I'm going to give you a tebow
time all the time, anytime you want it. I'm gonna
be there. I can get your tickets to a Mets game.
I am going to be there for you. Coach. I
will never fail you. And you know that. You know
(33:15):
that after that speech that I gave after a loss
in college, I was never gonna lose again. I'm at
a barbecue and I'm ready to run through a wall
right now, Coach, are you heading into the Mets game? Kim?
Nobody wants to go to a Mets game? Come on,
you're right all right? Hey, great to talk to you, Amina,
(33:36):
and play nice with the guys there on the set.
Oh way, thank Dan, Thank Amino. That's Mina Kimes, NFL analyst,
senior writer, podcast host, TV contributor. Yeppo Tebo seems like
a big tank top guy. When you're that swallow, you
don't hide it. You don't even go short sleeve shirt.
Yeah yeah, I mean, I'll hide the moneymaker occasionally. But
(33:56):
you know, I'd like to give you the mystery of Wow.
I think that guy's Jack. I think he is. Yes,
I have a brother in law who is you know
this guy? He is I'll give him credit. The guy's
like forty five years old. He is Jack. Does he
have anything other than the tank top? No, but he
doesn't have any sleeve shirts. Yeah, and he will wear
short sleeved shirts until the dead of Connecticut went out.
(34:17):
It's like eighteen degrees and he'll throw a vest over
a short sleeved shirt. Has he got to show the guns?
Chuck in New Jersey joins us, and we'll take a break. Hey, Chuck,
what's on your mind today? Um? So the whole song
thing You're our the top of the hour lead in song,
the last line of it, it sounds like I'm touching
(34:41):
the whales or something. What the hell's that? So this
is our theme song? No? That when the top when
when you come back in on the top of the hour?
That song that you play the TV our TV open? Yes? Sorry?
Oh um, I no, I've never even checked the lyrics
(35:01):
on that, Chuck. But Seaton, do you have any information?
I you know what? Actually I don't. I know that
chat Roe loves it and they seem to sing along
with it. I honestly, I've never heard it once in
my whole life, and that's sure a band that produced it.
Sounds like a kind of an Asa bass type song.
I'm not sure it sounds like a something out of
an eighties sitcom that you would have this kind of
song our theme song on TV. The German is telling
(35:22):
me it's called Song of the Whales, So maybe there
is something about the Song of the Whales. I don't know. Okay,
do we know the artist of Song of the Whales?
Can we play this song for those who only listen
on radio? We'd love to hear. How about we take
a break, but this is the opening on Peacock when
you're watching the TV show and then you get to

(41:28):
ask him who is Lorraine? And I go, what are
you talking about? They said, blame it on the rain.
I go, it's blame it on the rain. Yeah. Mccleman,
I'm just thinking back to when John Fogerty was at
what are Your Birthday Dinners? Yeah, just saying the small
talk between him and Todd was one of the worst
things I've read, wouldn't I know? I felt bad that
