Speaker 1 (00:07):
Donald Trump is letting f bombs fly to the media.
But what the f are the Minnesota Twins doing. They're down,
they're up, they're sideways, they're over, they're doggy, they're up,
they're down, they're sideways, they're good, they're bad, they're up,
they're down. What the f is going on with the
Minnesota Twins. That's what we're going to talk about today.

(00:29):
But first I need to tell you about five Star

(00:51):
There's a reason why they're called five star. They do
five star work. And before and after pictures of our bathroom.
Before we had a blue floor, a blue step going
into the shower, moldy shower handrails, one sink, brown vanity,
ugly mirror, and five Star Bath Solutions of Minneapolis remodeled

(01:12):
the entire thing and we had our bathroom back in
forty eight hours, So it took them two days. New floor,
new tub, new shower mold is gone, handrails are gone.
We went from one sink to two sinks, which is
our favorite feature, and we have a new vanity and
a mirror. Everything's updated. The value of our house has skyrocketed.

(01:36):
Five Star Bass Solutions of Minneapolis transformed our bathroom in
forty eight hours. Free consultations are available and affordable payment plans.
Five Star Bath Solutions of Minneapolis. All right, what the
eth is going on with the Minnesota Twins Because they

(01:59):
start the sea in pathetically and then somehow win twelve
thirteen games in a row and now have lost thirteen
of their last sixteen games. So they're up, they're down,
they're over their sideways. And now it's being reported that

(02:25):
Rocco bald Deli, the Minnesota Twins' manager, is being extended
or his option has been picked up for the two
thousand and twenty six season. And I see people trying
to break this down. What is going on? Why aren't

(02:47):
the Twins doing this? What is going on with this
decision making? And I think it all boils down to
one thing. With the Rocco Baldeli extension, the Twins ownership
group is looking to sell their team and when you

(03:10):
sell a team in an organization, those new owners prefer
to put their people in place. So why would the
Twins fire roccaball Deli to hire or make an interim
head coach when they're just going to sell the team

(03:34):
and then they're gonna fire them and then they're gonna
bring it another head coach. So the point that I
think needs to be made is that the Twins are
extending Rocko to save them the time and effort in
finding a new head coach when they are just going

(03:56):
to sell the team. Cobal Delhi has had good moments
with the Twins. He was hired as his head coach
in twenty nineteen, his first year one hundred and one
and sixty one, his second year during the COVID shortened

(04:17):
season thirty six and twenty four. But his most successful
season as the Twins manager came in the twenty twenty
three season, when the team only won eighty seven games
compared to the one hundred and one games they won

(04:41):
his first season, and it's because the Twins finally ended
their historical run of never winning a playoff game. That
run from t two thousand and four finally ended in

(05:04):
twenty twenty three when the Twins lost in the Alds
three games to one. And I look at Rocco's career
as Twins manager. First year good, second year good, third
year stunk, fourth year stunk, fifth year all right, ended

(05:28):
the streak, last year, a collapse at the end of
the season eighty two and eighty and this year thirty
seven and forty one. And baseball is one of those
sports where it's more about the players you bring in

(05:49):
than the coaching that's involved with those players. An NFL
head coach can get the most out of a group
of players and win games. Baseball you're kind of stuck
with who your rotation is, the kind of stuff they throw,

(06:10):
the health of your players, and the power and ability
from your players. And this season, the Twins pitchers stink.
Their best players always hurt or isn't performing to his

(06:33):
best capabilities. And I look at the Twins organization and
where is the roster that is going to help Rocco
Baldelli succeed because it just ain't there the Twins when

(06:54):
they were on their massive winning stick. And I find
this the funniest because us when the Twins were winning games, Oh,
we love playing with each other. We have believe we
feel more like a family than just teammates. That was
what Carlos Koreas said. We've got the rally sausage going.

(07:16):
We have, we're enthusiastic, we love playing with each other.
We have believe. We just know we're gonna do it.
These are all comments during the Twins winning streak clubhouse chemistry.
But what's so fascinating about that is that there was

(07:39):
a report that came out just the other day from
Odra Martin that says this.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
Starts here in a beautiful nights at Target Field. After
another tough series, I asked some of the Twins players
what was lacking right now or maybe holding this team
back from playing winning baseball right now, and Ty Franz said,
one thing that he has noticed is that they need
to take a little bit more pride in themselves.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
If they get behind.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
Early in a game, it can't be oh, here we
go again. No, it needs to be all right, let's
go to work, Let's get after it like we have
done so many times, and like we know that we can.
Carlos Correa said that they can do a better job
with preparation in terms of being more specific and really
targeting the things that they aren't doing well. Carlos also
told me that he had a conversation with the front

(08:34):
office and the coaches about some of those things that
they need to work on. So, guys, there's that leadership
from Carlos Carea taking it upon himself to speak up.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
Drew, thanks and a lot to chew on there as
Carrea looks on and ty Frantz is team leading seventy
fourth hit and as a leadof Den't so ty Franz.
The Twins are struggling with dougout morale and Carlos Karrea
things they could do a better job with their preparation.
In this report from Odra Martin, it's funny how winning

(09:09):
and losing can manipulate the emotion of players. We love
each other, we're teammates, but we're family. We've got the
great locker room coming strain, and we just have that
inherent belief that we're going to do it. Then they
lose a bunch of games and then it's like, oh,

(09:31):
our Dougall morale, our preparation, it stanks. And the Twins
they're not that far out from a wild card spot
two or three games, so they're not out of it,
but are they really in it? You look at what's

(09:59):
going on with the organization and it doesn't seem like
they're anywhere near competing for a World Series. And that's
the whole point of making the playoffs. I always go
back to this thought. I just talked about it with
the Vikings the other day. The whole point of making
the playoffs is to give your team a chance at

(10:20):
winning the whole damn thing. And if you're not going
to have a chance at winning the whole damn thing,
making the playoffs is nothing more than a consolation trophy.
So the Minnesota Twins, they're not miles away from winning
a World Series. They're a zillion miles away from winning

(10:44):
a World Series when you compare their roster against the
best rosters in Major League Baseball. So what's going on
with Roco? What's going on with his extent? I think
it's fairly obvious the Twins organization is selling. A new

(11:09):
ownership group is going to step in and they're going
to fire him, and they're gonna bring in their own guys.
That's why he's coming back. But it is funny and
interesting how the Twins players have reacted to their winning
streaks and losing streaks. Great chemistry, We're family, huh. Our

(11:35):
dougout morale ain't too good. I hope it's not too good.
You look at what they've accomplished in the last sixteen
games and you lose thirteen of those. When you lose
thirteen of sixteen games, there ain't gonna be a whole
lot of great morale happening in that dugout. But then

(11:55):
Carlos Korea points at the preparation, and I think that's
what's happening here. You've got Carlos Korea looking at how
the team is preparing, and then you get the news
that Rocco is extended, and you've got two forces clashing
against each other. What is happening? The Twins don't want
to go through the stress of hiring and firing when

(12:18):
they're just gonna sell the team. Makes one hundred percent
sense to me. So I don't talk about twins too much,
but talked about the Twins today. Thanks for joining the
