Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, and welcome back to The K Factor, Everything k
Pop hosted by Bomhan, and I'm so happy to bring

(00:20):
you another episode mostly featuring K pop news for you
guys this week. There's a lot of things that I
am personally excited to talk to you guys about, but
most importantly.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Happy Pride Month.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
This is a special time of the year and I
hope that we can celebrate and love our fellow neighbors
and remember the things that makes us different also brings
us together. I love you all, and K Factor stands
with the LGBTQ plus community. We love you guys, and
I personally dream to build a platform that can uplift
artists and people from all backgrounds, no matter what you

(00:51):
come from, what you like, what you enjoy, and who
you are and finding the intersections of K pop and
all aspects of the world, which is what makes K
pop beautiful in my opinion. Here's a reminder before we
start that you can listen to The K Factor on
iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or on any audio platform that
you regularly use. Let's get right into it, okay. On

(01:13):
the first major front of K pop News on the
theme of Pride Month, Katsi Megan comes out as bisexual
and this is a big deal. I'm sure as a
lot of people know there's a lot of idols who
are OLGBTQ plus, but not a lot of people just
come out and say it. And she came out in

(01:34):
a hilarious way. She was like, we love bisexuals and
while mat it, let me also raise awareness about soriasis.
Thank you, Megan. I'm gonna be honest. I told my
producer this and he was like, what is soriasis? So
now another person is informed about soriasis and bisexuals. So

(01:54):
so thank thank you to the bisexuals, and.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Thank you to Catsie Meghan.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
This news was so huge that it also became a
headline in Korea, an airy place that was considered more
kind of conservative about these things, but have openly embraced
it more recently. And it shows because this news was plastered.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
All over the trains and all over everywhere in Korea,
and it's really making a splash.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
I think, so thank you Katti Meghan for your inclusivity
and your openness about your sexuality and making millions and
millions of young people more confident in themselves. And I
think that's the beauty of K pop, and thank you
for using your voice to share something so wonderful. And
also also speaking of Pride Month, Poys Planet Too.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
It's here. Boys Planet Too is premiering.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
July seventeenth, with the Global Signal song as you guys
seen last season releasing soon at June twelfth. Right now
and at the time that we are recording this, it
is the beginning of June, so it's very very soon.
So if you're listening to this episode, you can probably
go check it out. I'll check out the premiere and
the trailer and all the stuff. There were rumors that

(03:05):
I was joining Boy's Planet Too, Girl, I'm not. I'm
in New York, I'm not in Boys Planet. I'm in
New York City. Voice Planet is pretty far. Some of
my dear friends are on it, however, So if you're
a fan of the show, if you're a fan of
my platform, please go and watch. I'm not going to
tell you who it is. Just enjoy the show and

(03:27):
vote for who you think is the best, because that's
probably gonna be him. And I love my friends. I
love Boy's Planet and Happy Pride both. Okay, moving on
from that, we have more news, BTS, ORM and V
is officially released from the military, and of course RM

(03:48):
has that goddamn saxophone that he's always carrying it around
playing it for his members, and now he's playing it
for himself. And what this feels like to me is
that we are almost we are almost done collecting the
Infinity Stones of K pop that we can fit into
the Infinity Gauntlet and we can save the world once

(04:09):
and for all or destroy it. Because wherever BTS is
doing the first tour, oh my gosh, shut that city down,
because I'm gonna be there too. Okay me, I'm gonna
be there, My mom's gonna be there, my dad's gonna
be there, my nephew is gonna be there. I'm bringing
the whole family out. Okay, shut that city down. I
love BTS and they are almost almost done. That only

(04:29):
leaves Jim and Junk and Shuga left in the military.
We're almost done, guys, stay strong, Army stays strong. We're
almost there. However, moving on from the past, we have
the future. There is a group that was recently announced

(04:53):
called the All Day Project. The All Day Project is
a group that I'm so personally excited for featuring some
trainees that were super successful and decorated in their own
personal field that they represent. They're making their debut June
twenty third. These trainees include and I will list and

(05:14):
describe each and every single one of them. One Bailey Sock,
a professional dancer. I think this name will bring something
in your head. You're like, wait, I've heard of this,
Why was she doing in K pop? Okay, Bailey Sock
is my personal favorite. She's the only one I've introduced
so far, so I think you guys already know. She

(05:36):
has choreographed and danced for kpop groups such as Shiny seventeen,
Idol formerly known as Gidle TXT now Timin, Kai Teyang, Lisa, Rose,
Jenny and Kai all from the age of fifteen.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
I have been watching her videos since I was a.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Kid, watching her and be like, Wow, I wish I
could dance like that, And now she's in a K
pop group. More on that later. I'm going to introduce
the other members. Okay, Wow, that was a whole big
brand about my favorite member already and I haven't even.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
Introduced anyone else.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
But it's okay because all the other members we have
any Moon who is incredibly talented and the granddaughter of
one of the biggest South Korean conglomerates.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
Shouldn't say gay.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
They have department stores malls all over South Korea and
personally some that I've visited, okay, and I've shopped at
shoudn't say gay.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
That means that I have spent at least three hundred beans,
three hundred of my personal dollars funding All Day project.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
You're welcome everybody.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
If you guys enjoy their debut on June twenty third,
just know that my money is in this, so you're welcome. Next,
we have Buchan, who was a contestant on Show Me
the Money, a famous famous rap show, and was a
hip training So if I'm not sure if we could
play it because it's it's a it's a national broadcast,

(07:11):
but look him up.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
He is incredible.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Young Soul who was part of Illitt's final debut lineup
but left before it was made official, so she's already
earned her badges, she's already done everything that it takes,
and she's just kind of relocated her talents. And finally,
we have Tarzan, who's a dude, which makes this a

(07:37):
co ed group.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
In K pop? What the what is going on here?
He is a model and an actor who is featured
in the music video of New Genes Supernatural.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
There's already controversy kind of because of Tarzan because in
the in the announcement teaser footage, I mean the announcement
teaser photo, he was wearing braids, and a lot of
people are upset about it, and they're having issues with
his casual use of black culture and hairstyles and and

(08:14):
and yeah, I think he's justified. But this whole group,
I'm very, very interested to see how this debut goes.
I'm interested to see what kind of promotions they're gonna do.
And it seems like a powerhouse, just an absolute powerhouse,
is flying in from the sky.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
And I'm so I'm.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
So so thurn happy watching watching Bailey suck from when
I was like dung and watching her enter the industry.
A lot of people were even saying that, like, like
it's a waste of her talent. But in this context,

(08:52):
in this concept, it's where they're the most decorated in
their field. Thank you, thank you for doing my girl,
Bailey talk justice. Just That's all I have to say
about all day.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
Project. I could talk about all day, project all freaking day.
But yeah, and now.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
For today's episode, I wanted to kind of slow down
and talk about myself a little bit.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
It's just me today.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
There's no guests, there's no there's no there's no special occasion.
I just want to say thank you guys for supporting
me through my journey and all this a couple.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
I think the week before.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
This last episode, we had a mental health episode where
I sat down and talked with therapists and opened up
a lot. And I just want to say that we
received a lot of love and support from that episode.
And ever since recording that episode, yo, I've been like
low key locked in like getting these things off my chest.

(09:51):
I already expected to kind of like get backlash for it,
Like why am I opening up about this on like
a platform? Why am I like doing this? Like is
it like like I don't know, like I don't want
to come off like looking for pity points or any
of these things, just like as a person that I am.
But it's like, Okay, I got it out there. The
energy is released, and it's not anything for me to
talk about anymore. It's time to move on and whatever

(10:14):
I'm going to do. If people understand me, they understand me.
If they don't understand me, then then then it's okay.
I'm just gonna create my art, you know. And with
the album finishing, with the single finishing and all these things,
like it's it's such a beautiful blend of circumstances and
and I found like my spark again.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
You know.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
It's like with everything, with like the delays and like
all these like little little things that kind of irk
at my mental it's it's it's hard to enjoy what
you do. And and when I was part of my
old company, watching the people who are my age now
because now I'm twenty four, I used to just look

(10:56):
around and as like, oh okay, my my, my hungs
like my my. The people around me who were older,
who are also like twenty four to twenty five, they
did their tours, they released their music, they did their albums,
and like they're complete and coming from where they come from,
They're like, dude, I accomplish my dream. And when I
was younger, like eighteen years old, watching this, I was

(11:17):
like yo, like but you're not You're not done.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
There was a.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
Moment in like this like past like a couple of months.
I was like yo, like I felt like my youngs.
I was like, I've toured, I did all this, and
then I came back to New York. So right now
I'm in New York. And then I started dancing again
and I'm like, wow, this this is what it's a

(11:42):
this is what's freaking about. And then I started journaling
and I started taking notes and like going to class
every single week. If you're in New York, you could
probably find me in a class, like these are public,
open classes, and I hope that more people come into
these classes. So if you want to come to these
classes to find me, like, so be it, you'll probably
find me there. And being a part of a community
and all these things like like it's such a such

(12:05):
a beautiful thing, and and and never never, never believing
that you are too good to learn.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
I think that's that's super important. And that's what I've
been up to.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
We're while I'm taking class every single day, I'm I'm
working on singing, I'm making music, uh, doing dance, and
just working on on creating and being rather than than
showing and talking.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
You know, I've done my years of talking.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
I've done there's millions of views of clips where I'm like,
like like doing all this, but now I can finally
just just sit and be and then when it's time
to show, like, for example, we have this rehearsal coming
up in LA and the shooting for this music video
for dum and with the concepts. Is everything that I
dreamed of having this production here, having all these things aligned,

(12:57):
like with the stylist team, with the with the dance,
and then the director having like these meetings and like
the treatment for the music video and all these things.
I'm like, wow, this is everything is finally working. And
most importantly, the song.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Is freaking good. Dude.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
It's it's good. It is so good. And I let
me tell you about this. Let me tell you about
the song. Okay, if you have heard me myself and I,
which is my debut single, girl, I went to the studio.
I spent three hours in the studio and I hired
my vocal coach to come in and vocal produce me.
I'm doing air quotes. You can't hear me, you can't

(13:34):
see it because this is audio only. I hired my
vocal coach to come audio produce me, and she had
no idea what she was doing. And she also didn't
speak English, so she just sat there and then I
was screaming into the mic for three hours and then
she and I was like, so, what do you think
and she was like, I think you should like stops
training and I was like, oh, okay, how do I

(13:55):
do that?

Speaker 2 (13:55):
And She's like.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
Just stop and I'm like, hmm okay, and then I
just kept screaming, and then I basically took a dump
in there for three hours, and then I went home.
He gave me the studio Bounce and I released it.
I was like, this is great. And then I paid
dis show Kid nine dollars to mix and master my song,

(14:20):
Thank you dishow Cakid.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
I was like, this was a great deal. I was like,
why would anyone not take this?

Speaker 1 (14:25):
I oploamed my song to Spotify and You're like, yo,
do you want me to like mix this for nine dollars.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
I'm like, yeah, that's that sounds beautiful. And now now seeing.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
All that process that I went through, I still dropped
like twenty bands on that project, by the way, stupid.
And now I have a team, a well constructed, decorated
team that knows what they're doing. Who believes in me
through all this, like through all this, still stuck by

(14:54):
my side.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
When I give up on myself.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
They they came to me I need back up, Like no,
I believe in you and kept me going and believed
in me and really constructed this beautiful thing that we
have now and we get to show this first punch,
this first punch of it with d U. I'm dancing
until moonlight and and that's coming up in like like

(15:18):
by like next week. And I've just been at rehearsals
at practice every single day and even at practice, like
bringing bringing stuff that I learned from class into practice,
you know, and getting my body right. I'm in the
best shape of my life. I'm in the best mental
of my life, all the stuff, and I just I
just hope that this energy can translate through. So if

(15:41):
you guys are worried about me, if you guys are
are are concerned or like like hoping that I'm doing
well after these the moments that I'm opening up in
the podcast, the episodes earlier, I just know that there's
beautiful things coming and I don't want this to be
like a ten minute.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
Add for it. It's just it's just it's just where
I am, you know, It's just where I am. It
is where my headspace is.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
So thank you for supporting the show, thank you for
making all this possible, and thinking for staying by my side.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
And yeah, that's that's what's been going on.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
I had I had a Japan trip that was lined
up within like I think I planned like a year ago,
bought the plane tickets, bought the plane tickets for my mom,
my dad, my my nephew, my sister, and myself. And
with all this schedule, I unfortunately can't go to Japan

(16:31):
my and I'm like, oh, those kind of stinks. Everyone's
going to Japan, And this was gonna be one of
my parents' last trips because they're sixty five, pretty old,
not gonna lie Dale Dale, Yeah, pretty old. So there's
gonna be one of the last trips. And I am
not gonna be able to go because of the filming.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
But I'm so.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
Excited, so clear, she's gonna free send me every day
day I'm gonna and we're gonna be blocked in and
just just just doing this thing. So please enjoy this
music video, enjoy this project, Enjoy everything that we have
coming up, and there's gonna be a release date of Teazer.
All this stuff coming out on my social media at
boohunt Official and uh yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
Thank you. That's it. That's this week we have. We
had k pop news updates, things that I'm excited about.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
And if you're if you were a little bit worried
about me from the past couple of weeks, and I've
been a little bit bit quiet just because of the
rehearsals and all these things and just trying to get
get class into my daily schedule and just be just
be excited for the things that are coming. And I
love you guys. Happy Pride Month, and yeah that's the key.
Pop News for this episode is a bit of a

(17:43):
short episode. It's audio exclusive. But thank you guys for
tuning in. Thank you for worrying about me. If you
guys are worried at all for like the past couple
of weeks because of the previous mental health episodes, don't
be I'm thriving. I'm doing well, waking up six thirty
every single day, going to the gym. I'm not even
making this up on some Ashton halls. Okay, So yeah,
thank you guys for tuning in. To the K Factor,

(18:04):
Everything k Pop hosted by Bomhan this week, and I'll
see you guys next week.
