Speaker 7 (14:55):
Clease, what's up every This is justin Patruley with the
black As Report on the MLB Bro Show podcast mixtape.
Here's where you get the latest on the melanated mal
marauders who are shoving with precision and popping out all
across the big leagues.

Speaker 6 (15:10):
So let's check the report.

Speaker 7 (15:12):
Here are three aces to look out for as the
second half of the season gets underway. The first eighth
that will have a big role coming up is Marcus Strouman.
De Strozer had been on the IL since April twelfth
with a knee injury, but made his highly anticipated return
on June twenty ninth. Although Stroman has a six point
six to six ERA and a one point six to
zero whip and six amens for the Yankees, in the

(15:33):
three games he's pitched since coming back, he has a
three point six to zero ERA and a one point
four zero WHIP in that stretch. With the Yankees having
a strong chance of making the postseason and with all
the pitching injuries the team has had to deal with,
Stroman becomes a much more integral piece to the team's
success on the National League side, Taiwan Walker is having
a very underrated start for the first place Phillies. He's

(15:55):
had to play a hybrid role for the team this season,
switching back and forth from the bullpen to being a start.
Even with all the changes, he's managed to put up
a three point five to five ERA in twenty appearances.
While this is his third season with Philadelphia and with
the team playing in October, in the previous two seasons,
he's yet to appear in any of those postseason games.
With the different roles he's been given that's helped keep

(16:15):
this team in first his Phillies postseason debut may come
this year. Lastly, a guy who may be below people's
radar but should definitely be on the lookout is Tiger's
reliever Dyllan Smith. Currently, the twenty five year old is
with Detroit's Triple A affiliate in Toledo, but in the
seven games he's pitched in the Majors, he's been money.
He's only given up runs in one of those games,
and in the other six scoreless outings, he's allowed just

(16:37):
three hits on twelve goadbyded innings pitch. As Detroit has
the best record in the Majors and a seemingly uncatchable
lead in the AOH Central. It will be very interesting
to see if Detroit management will give Smith more playing
time so he can prove that he can have a
spot with the team come playoff time. That's the black
Age report for this week.

Speaker 6 (16:53):
This is JP the Brook. Now back to the mix.

Speaker 3 (16:56):
In respect to the All Star Game that was played
this past week, I want to take look back at
some things, shine a little bit of light, and just
speak the Midsummer Classic.

Speaker 6 (17:05):
It's always been pretty cool.

Speaker 3 (17:07):
Definitely some memories cool, seeing the camaraderie among the players.
Some guys only get to play in the game once,
others multiple times. Some played multiple times that you forget about.
Here's one for you, Kenneth Wayne Singleton, this is a
bro who played in that game three times.

Speaker 6 (17:24):
He likes odd years nineteen seventy.

Speaker 3 (17:27):
Seven, seventy nine, and in that nineteen eighty one game,
he took Tom Seaver deep leading off the second inning.
He was two for three in that game. A lot
of people don't realize that he was a career two
eighty two hitter and finished with over two thousand hits.
Singleton definitely a very under the radar multiple All Star
bro I've talked about him before, but I'll do it again.

(17:49):
Lou Whitaker. He was a five time All Star every
year nineteen eighty three through nineteen eighty seven. He let
off that nineteen eighty four game with a double off
of Charlie Lee. Later in the game a base hit
off of Fernando Vealezuela and root to a two for
three game. Whitaker he gets his just due as one
of the game's better second basement during his time nineteen

(18:11):
seasons in the major leagues with a two to seventy
six batting average. Nothing to sneeze at prior to Tuesday Night.
The last time the All Star Game was in Atlanta,
the year was two thousand. The MVP of that game, yeah,
it was Derek Jeter. Three for three certainly merited that,
but what a lot of people don't realize is he
was the first Yankee to win that award for an All.

Speaker 6 (18:33):
Star Game performance.

Speaker 3 (18:35):
Lastly, I got to talk about the Cobra nineteen seventy
nine All Star Game MVP Parker. He was one for
three and that's cool and all, but he won it
because of his arm. He threw out fellow bro Jim
Rice trying to stretch a double into a triple in
the seventh inning, and threw out Brian Downing trying to
score on a Greg Nettles base hit in the eighth.

(18:56):
National League doesn't win that game without duels, two plays
with Jean Parker rest in peace.
