(06:53):
the mix.
Speaker 6 (06:56):
IMILB bro Jeremiah Jackson has got enough to a promising
start in this first game, is a big leader, and
with the Orioles retooling for next year, Jackson has the
opportunity to adjust to the majors and NBA force next season.
Jeremiah Jackson's first fifteen games have come with one twenty
weight runs creder plus at the plate, which make him
a well upoup average hitter so far, but he still
needs time to fully adjust to the big leagues.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
Jackson has always had a low.
Speaker 6 (07:21):
Walk output throughout the miners, so his two point two
percent walk rate is not very alarming considering it was
only at three point five percent triple A. The difference
now is his k rate. In Triple A, his low
walk rate was also combined with this sub twelve percent
k rate, meaning that he put the ball in play
at an alarming rate, which allowed him to overcome his
lack of walks. Now in the majors, his k rate
(07:44):
has jumped to twenty eight point three percent, which can
begin to show the shortcomings of his lack of walking.
Despite this big jump in strikeouts, Jackson has still been
a good producer so far in his major league extent,
and when he got those strikeouts down in Triple A,
his lightier runs career plus was as high as one
eighty one. Jackson has devastating potential with the bat that
(08:05):
doesn't rely on high strikeouts for high power, and the
fact that he's still so good even with these problems
should be a warning sign for American the opponents for
the near future. His long minor league career gives him
the necessary experience to make the necessary adjustments quickly, and
once he settles in, he will be difficult to slow down.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
The little again.
Speaker 11 (08:37):
CJ.
Speaker 4 (08:38):
A Brooms, he's catching all that Brookie slack. Now it's bad,
it's blazon. He wanted to bring the city back. That's
how we deal with when CJ brock this fitted cap
and that's a threat in DC. It's time to bring
the city back. Sixty three long and lanky with a
blister of rimbat. That band of bros got the nets
minor league system back to want so they'll train Mike Brizil.

Another Georgia boy employed to reckon destroy the MLB dro scene.
So high lives your boy average creeping up Homer's double digits.
The notts are in the cut with the tunnel vision
and as the team grows, so will Abrams game. This
ain't that team flow. Aprams already in the game, and
(09:32):
you see the progression as he's rising from fame, he's
learning to win walk offs, homers and missiles this ain't

Speaker 2 (09:41):
He hits doubles and triples.
Speaker 4 (09:43):
The effectives ripple number five's initial CJ aprim. He's catching

wants to bring the city back.

Charlie Duncan is killing straight facts on MLB broke dot Com.
Speaker 12 (13:13):
The Bronx Bombers lived up to their name on Tuesday Night,
and then some Aaron Judge, Jazz Chisholm, and John Carlos
Stanton all went deep against the Rays, combining to fuel
a power search that tied a franchise record with nine
home runs in a single game. It was an offensive
explosion that reminded everyone why this lineup is one of
(13:35):
the most dangerous in baseball when its stars are locked in.
Judge continues to deliver MVP caliber swings, a league leading
three point thirty three batting average, and his fortieth bro
bram yesterday edged him in history as the fourth Yankee
to have four forty plus home run seasons, joining Babe Ruth,
(13:56):
Mickey Mannle and Lou Garritt. Stanton's rob power can change
the game in an instant, but don't sleep on his average.
He is currently riding a six game hitting streak with
a three zero six batting average this season. While Jazz
has added the energy and flair that keeps opponents on edge,
the two time All Star has put together another consistent
(14:19):
year at the plate, on the base path, and in
the field. Together, they form the heart of a lineup
built for October baseball. If the Yankees are going to
make a deep postseason push, the bats of Judge Stanton
and Chisholm will be the difference makers when it matters most.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
Keep your eyes on these bros.
Speaker 1 (14:39):

It's great to get tributes and to have a day
in your honor, but America owes Jack Rose about Robinson
more than that. We got to talk about the solid
that needs to be done. It's your boy, Mark grayt
the mlbog and I'm going deep on the mixtape. Jackie
Robinson is revered every year in April for breaking at
(15:25):
the time what was almost the unreachable star. He became
a colored person playing in Major League Baseball at a
time where races were divided and the thought of international
players were well beyond the realm of comprehension. But Robinson
took the hit. He took a hit that took days
off his life. Can you imagine what it's like going
(15:46):
to the ballpark every day, laying it on the line.
And we're not talking about these fancy days. We had
air conditioned, cushy travel where you stayed in five star
hotels and you ate the best of meals.

still continues today, and it's wonderful to remember him, and
it's another thing to revere him. But this is a
guy who deserves a solid You know, if there was
ever a case for a single person to get their reparations,

the MLB Bro Show podcast mixtape. Here's where you get

Speaker 2 (19:13):
So let's check the report.
Speaker 3 (19:15):
Blackjack Flarerty just pitched his best.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
Game of the season.
Speaker 3 (19:19):
The twenty nine year old has really been struggling in
the second half of the season, but looked like the
pitcher that many people believe he can be. He won
seven scoreless innings, only allowing three hits and nine strikeouts,
picking up his second win since June eighth. His performance
helped Detroit regain the best record in the AL and
a nine and a half game lead in the AL
Central Flerty will try to ride the success in his
(19:41):
next start, which'll be at home on August twenty fourth
against the team that's second in the division, the Kansas
City Royals. Hunter Green was sensational on August nineteenth in
Anaheim against the Angels, as he pitched six and a
third innings, facing twenty five batters, striking out almost half
of them with twelve. It's the second time this season
(20:02):
that Green has reached a dozen strikeouts and tied for
his third most pitches thrown in a game this season
with ninety eight. The Reds have now won both starts
since his return, as the team is now just one
game back of the Mets and the third wildcard slot.
He'll look to pick up his sixth win of the
year next week when he faces his hometown team in
the Los Angeles Dodgers. Fellow Reds pitcher Chase Burns ended
(20:24):
up on the IL on August fifteenth after being diagnosed
with a Grade one right flexer strain. Although management was
originally concerned that this could be a serious, lengthy injury,
it was reported that the severity isn't as bad, as
he's already resumed throwing earlier in the week before that
his last game where he pitched was on August eighth,
(20:45):
where he went six innings. It allowed three hits and
one run and struck out ten batters for the fourth
time in his last five games. When the twenty two
year old does return, it's uncertain if he'll be back
in the rotation as a starter, if he'll be put
in the bullpen for relief duties to a pretty crowded
rights pitching round. That's the black As report for this week.
This is JP the Bruk.
Speaker 7 (21:05):
Now back to the mix a Jris Times Bradley.
Speaker 11 (21:07):
I want to say, I appreciate you for the landscape
that you can put out for us to put our

And I appreciate you man, and keep doing your thing
with the MLB Bros Podcast, and I know it's well
appreciated for all the guys across the league.
Speaker 5 (21:20):
What's up, everybody? This is young krit and this is
mine weeks he counted out of the biggest plays me
MLB Bros over the past seven days this week, coming
in at number five. Veteran bro in Pittsburgh Pirates, I'll
put a Tommy fam continues to get it done. On Saturday,
he hit a solo shot in the Pirates three one
loss to the club Fam.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
The batter Fam zero for one with a ground out
to second base and that swung.
Speaker 14 (21:42):
On driven high in the air.
Speaker 5 (21:44):
Left field pan half turns around and he watches his
head on the waves. Man a home run for Tommy
fast up. Next to number four Ellie Doctor Starr. Mookie
Betts is starting to pick it up a bit. Last
week he collected six hits with the home run. Betts
has struggled, but you can bet, as we had towards
the playoffs, he's gonna be ready to go. Sitting in
(22:06):
the three spot. We've got Atlanta Bradys centerfield money Mike Harris,
who had a twelve game hit a streaks that recently,
but what a stretch it was. During that streak, Harris
had twenty four hits with four doubles, six home runs
and seventeen rbi center field.
Speaker 14 (22:20):
This one deep Robert back, Oh my goodness, stain Michael Harris,
I throw a hanging change up for strike one. Hang

I got two guys for you whose numbers are so
equal it's not even funny. Two guys, both from California,
both right handed outfielders, Both were listed at six two
one eighty in their playing days, and both are currently
in their mid seventies. Some of you young cats may
only know Dusty Baker as a manager, but trust me,
(25:38):
he could play.
Speaker 2 (25:39):
He did so for nineteen years.
Speaker 8 (25:42):
You want his equal, look no further than Gary Matthews.
They called him Sarge. He played ball at the highest
level for sixteen seasons.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
Stick around.
Speaker 8 (25:53):
I'm gonna give you some numbers, but know that these
guys are terrific human beings off the field as well.
Speaker 12 (26:00):
Let's get it on.
Speaker 8 (26:02):
Baker made his big league debut in nineteen sixty eight.
Speaker 2 (26:05):
To the Atlanta Braves.
Speaker 8 (26:06):
While he held his cape for a few seasons. He
actually didn't hit his first home run until nineteen seventy two,
when he collected seventeen of them with a three twenty
one batting average as well. The next year, it was
Matthew's time to shine, as he was the nineteen seventy
three National League Rookie of the Year with the San
Francisco Giants twelve homers, fifty eight runs matted in, and
(26:31):
an even three hundred average. Let's not leave out Dusty
that year either career high ninety nine runs matten in.
He had a twenty four stolen bases another good season.
Both guys kept it real the next few years with
their power and steady presence. Baker, as you may or
may not know, he was in the on deck circle,
(26:52):
and Hank Aaron hit home run number seven fifteen. Baker
he would hit thirty nine homers over his last two
years with Atlanta, and Matthews would average sixteen homers and
seventy five runs batted him in his last three seasons
with the Giants. Nineteen seventy seven was the start of
something for Baker. It was the only season he would
(27:14):
hit thirty homers Dodgers. They not only won the Nation
League West, but they rode Dusty's hot bat into the
World Series. That year, he was the National League Championship
Series MVP, first time that award was ever handed out.
He hit three fifty seven. He got the Dodgers back
to the Fall Classic in nineteen seventy eight after hitting
(27:35):
four to sixty seven in that playoff series against the
Phillies as well. Matthews, while he didn't reach the postseason
during that time period, he did garner All Star status
before Dusty did by hitting twenty seven homers in nineteen
seventy nine. Dusty, however, as we begin the nineteen eighties,
he was dangerous a three year span. He was a
(27:58):
two time All Star, two times Silver Slugger Award winner,
and took home his only Gold Glove in nineteen eighty
one while helping Los Angeles to a World championship. Remember
this date, October eighth, nineteen eighty three, Game four, National
League Championship Series Dodgers at Phillies. Both Baker and Matthews
(28:21):
would connect for homers in that postseason game, but it
was all about Matthews, as he would go on to
win the Nation League Championship Series MVP that would end
Baker's playing postseason career, and Matthews he would help the
Cubs to a division title the following season. Baker he
would call it quicks in nineteen eighty six.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
Matthews in nineteen eighty seven. Let's take a look at
this over a career.
Speaker 8 (28:47):
Thirty more hits total for Gary Matthews again, just thirty
eight homers more for Dusty Baker, thirty five more runs
batted in for Baker, and a lfetime batting average of
two eighty one for Gary Matthews and two seventy eight
for Dusty Baker.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
Can it be any closer?
Speaker 8 (29:06):
For two guys who played a total of thirty five
seasons in the big leagues?
