Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hey guys, and welcome back to another episode of Geodiaries.
I am podcasting from my Jersey City apartment. I am
officially moved in and I seriously could not be happier.
I had the most amazing organizers helping me function and form,
(00:22):
and they seriously turned this space and helps me turn
this space into a home. I am just so blown
away by their work. And it took them five days
to complete this. So I moved in on Tuesday and
they finished on Saturday, so it was definitely a lot.
(00:48):
But I have my dream kitchen, my dream glamor room,
my dream bedroom. Everything about this apartment is just so
my vibe. It's so cool, and I'm so excited to
show you guys an apartment tour and just really show
you all the details and work that they put into
(01:11):
organizing this place for me. I picked out all the furniture,
all of the little details, all of the little accessories
in this apartment, and it seriously just screams me. So
I am so happy, and I think this was something
that I was so excited and also nervous about.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
Was my apartment really feeling like my home?
Speaker 1 (01:35):
And it seriously does more than I can describe.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
But I have been sleeping so good.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
I got myself a king bed, so my mattress is
so comfy. I mean it should be that comfy for
the price that I paid. I cannot believe mattresses are
so expensive. But I sleep like a baby. My bed
is everything and more. I got most of my bedding
(02:07):
on Amazon, so I will link that all for you
guys when I do an apartment tour. And I got
my sheets from TikTok shop and guys, they are next level,
like next level, but I'll go into the details of
everything on where my pillows are from, and blankets and
little accent pieces. There was just so much that went
(02:28):
into this, and I prepared for it so much that
I did not need to buy anything else after my
move in, which was so nice, and it was kind
of just all done at once. All the expenses and
everything that I put into this, it was just done
(02:49):
at once, and now I can just enjoy. I went
food shopping, the fridge is stocked, the snacks are stocked.
It's just everything that I love. So makes me really happy,
and I'm so happy that I'm so in love with it.
I thought that I was going to miss home a
little more, but I just feel so comfortable here. It's
(03:14):
so weird. And also, Roadway Moving helped me move everything
from my home in Montville to Jersey City, and they
were incredible. They just handled everything with such care, helped
me so much, and they move so fast. But everyone
(03:39):
was underestimating the organizers a little bit and they couldn't
believe how much stuff I had to move. But I know.
I was telling you guys how I was gonna bring
my clothes here seasonally, so for now I was only
going to have my fallen winter clothes and then bring
(04:00):
my and then switch out for spring and summer. The
organizers told me to bring everything because they think it's
all gonna.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Fit, and they were right.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
Everything is here. They fit all of my belongings. I
have literally nothing left at home besides my Poshmark clothes
that I sell on my Poshmark because there was just
no space to hold those here, So now those bins
are in my old closet. But everything is here, so
(04:36):
I really don't have to go home for anything besides
grabbing my Poshmark shipments. But yeah, it's really nuts and
everything's here. Everything just feels so complete and I've been
having visitors come over and it's just so nice seeing
(04:56):
their reaction and just seeing how happy they are for
me being in this space, and it's really just been
so amazing. Christian absolutely loves it. He is so proud
of me, and he just sees how happy I am here.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
So it's really good.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
And I think this was a chapter that you needed
to happen, and I'm so happy it did because I.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
Am so happy in my new space.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
I haven't done much exploring yet around Jersey City because
the move was nuts and there was lots to do.
The organizers have been here all week, plus work events,
so it was mainly just getting my apartment situated and
(05:57):
done and then going to work, so I haven't had
much wiggle room yet to really explore. Yesterday, I walked
to a local coffee shop called Treehouse, and I got
this recommendation from Lauren Tybee. She actually lives in my building,
(06:17):
which is so nice because I have gotten to know
her over the past year just going to events and stuff,
and she actually told me to look at this building
and it's so funny. We're on the same floor and
I can't wait to have her over and just hang
out with her more and I love that I have
(06:38):
a familiar face.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
In the building.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
I was texting her and I was like, I am
so happy that you are on my floor because I
cannot wait to text you when I need help zippering
my dress. She's like, you know how people have like
I don't even know, like double jointed are and like
can like really reach back and zipper their dresses and stuff.
(07:04):
My arms do not move like that hers do, and
that was my number one fear moving in. I was like,
how am I going to get myself dressed? I need
to rework my wardrobe for outfits that I can zipper myself.
But I'm so happy that now I have her. And
obviously I have made friends at the front desk so
(07:24):
they can always help me.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
But I am just so excited. The building is so beautiful.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
Everybody here is just so amazing and so nice, and
I just love the security of it as well. You
need a keyfob to get in to literally anywhere, so
it just makes me feel really secure and safe. I
have cameras up like I am. Everything is in place,
(07:51):
so I can't wait to show you guys my apartment
and just show you why I love it.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
So much.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
I have used a couple forms of public transportation recently
and it is seriously life changing.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
Guys.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
My commute is so easy. I have a light rail
station right outside my apartment building. I hopped onto the
light rail the other day. One stop I was at
the ferry, and the ferry to get to the city
was maybe ten minutes. If that, I walked four minutes
and I was at my destination. It was just so
(08:38):
life changing. And I've taken the path literally takes me
twenty minutes. It was seriously and it is seriously so
freaking amazing and is going to help my mental health
so much. I have ubered a couple times to events
(08:59):
because they gave me Uber vouchers and stuff like that.
But even the ride in is just so easy, and
it just makes me so much like I'm less stressed.
I don't feel as drained, because that was the biggest
thing the commute for me. I would be driving an
(09:22):
hour and a half back and forth from Jersey, sitting
in the car driving. It was super exhausting. Sometimes the
drive was more exhausting than my actual work. So it
was just becoming a lot for me mentally, and I'm
just so happy that I have this accessibility, just to
access the city so easily and just have such an
(09:44):
easier commute. I'm glowing here. I'm loving it here. This
is like the best thing ever. And I love my apartment.
I never want to leave. I never want to leave.
Just keep renewing my lease please. But Bravocon is this week,
and I am so excited. But there's so much prep
that goes into it. I am overnighting dresses as we
(10:06):
speak and trying to figure out my outfits. So that's
definitely the most stressful part because you want to look
your best, and obviously all the nail appointments, facials, I'm
getting lymphatic drainage, massage because we have to look snatched.
There is lots of prep that goes into Bravocan. But
I'm so excited. If you guys are gonna be there,
(10:29):
I cannot wait to meet you.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
And I am just so excited to be there.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
So lots is happening Bravocon filming podcasts. Make sure to
check out my booth. I have a booth in the bazaar.
It's casual chaos and waking up in the morning merch.
So I'm so excited for you guys to finally finally
get Waking Up in the morning merch at bravocon. So
it is pretty iconic and pretty legendary, and I cannot
(10:56):
wait to see all of you there. Okay, A topic
that a lot of you wanted me to talk about
is friendship breakups. I know I talked about in my
last episode that I do have a tattoo with two
people who I am no longer friends with, and.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
I just feel like.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
Getting a tattoo with somebody is just a recipe for
disaster because you just never know what the future holds.
And I know friendship breakups are really hard. Sometimes they
honestly feel worse than.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
A breakup.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
When you have your best friend and your person that
you go to for everything, at least I know with
these girls, I talked to them all day, every day.
I did everything with them. We were like a trio.
And sometimes, you know, life happens and people change and
people grow, and when that happened, sometimes people grow out
(12:02):
of your life. And I think that's kind of what
happened with these friendships.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
And it just.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
Is how life is and how life works. You kind
of just go through motions and find people that are
good for you and that are benefiting you and lifting
you up and bringing you happiness. And I think that's
kind of what came from what didn't come from these friendships.
(12:33):
They were great at a time, but then as I
was growing through life and as I was evolving, I
just felt like these friendships weren't benefiting me. If anything,
they were bringing me down and bringing things into my
life that I didn't want in my life. So as
(12:54):
much as it hurt, and as much as even now
I still miss talking to them, I knew that this
decision was the best.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
Move for me, and.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
It's honestly been okay. You know, I have my friends
that i'm still super still super super close with.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
I think.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
As you're letting go of the friendship, that is the
hardest part. But if somebody brings me to my wits end,
I'm done. So when I'm done, i'm done and I
don't really look back.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
But I think.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
The hardest part is letting go because I forgive, I
never I'm really not one to hold grudges. I forgive,
but I don't forget, And I think that's the difference.
You know, when you are growing and you're really becoming
the person that you are.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
It's easier to forgive.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
Than to hold resentment, and I think that has been
something that has grown within myself over the past couple years.
I am all in for forgiveness, but that doesn't mean
we're going to be best friends again. So that's kind
(14:24):
of my advice on friendship breakups.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
You grow and evolve.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
And sometimes you grow out of relationships just like you
grow out of friendships.
Speaker 2 (14:33):
There people are.
Speaker 1 (14:34):
In your life for a reason, a time, and a place,
but sometimes that era ends and you need to move on.
And as much as it probably feels super difficult in
the moment, you'll be okay, and you'll have your people
that are still around you and still support you and
(14:56):
still lift you up and bring you happiness. And then
as you keep going through life, you know, you forgive
and you move on and you do things that are
just always going to benefit you. And I think that's sometimes.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
What you need to realize too.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
You need to do what benefits yourself and it might
be selfish at points, but you do have to do
what really makes you happy at the end of the day.
All right, guys, And that is it for this week
of geodiaries. I'll see you next week after Bravokan, Love
You Guys.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
Bye,
