l Huddle podcast. Well look at that. Stung will sell

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Pees to be here.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Yeah yeah, well again too in a row, two in
a row? Who knew? Right? Look at us? Uh and
look at you? Follow you on social media as I
do you living the glam life? Talk to Merina you
know I love a glamor. I know you do.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
It's an be period. Yeah, it requires a gown. Say less,
I'm there period.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Do I still have my hair from last night? Yes?

Speaker 3 (01:12):
There are more Bobby pins in my hair than I
know where to be us. It was probably gonna be
like other day, but it was the Critics Choice Association
celebration of film and TV, celebrating black Latino and AAPI,
actors and creators and directors and all things just inclusion.
Walking into a room in Hollywood that's.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Full, did you feel like a fish out of water? No?

Speaker 3 (01:38):
I felt the most comfortable that I have been probably
any space.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
I mean, it was just a room full of us.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Well you're saying that you don't feel comfortable with me
right now.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
About us here, but it was just in incredible.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
I was so empowering, and every acceptance speech from these
actors and directors and producers who I have not only
followed along but admired for so long, who share and
mirror so much of the experiences will that.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
You and I talk about here on the ILHAD podcast.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
That they are creating and telling stories bar for us
and by us, And I think it's it's so important
to be able to attend these things. And I feel
incredibly privileged and grateful to be in that room and
to take up space there because it serves as a
reminder like we may work in the sports side, but
it's still entertainment and television, right And to be reminded

(02:30):
that even the folks like Eva Longoria who are up there,
who she shares and a different capacity, of course, but
at a different level in her struggle to make sure
her voice is heard, that her stories from her perspective
and the perspective of the Latino community are being told.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
It was really cool. And so I walked in here today, like,
let's go to the ELH podcast.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
Like, I think it's important for us to have those reminders, right,
even for ourselves as we push on a day to
day basis, to have our space and our moment and
know that we're serving a bigger community and a bigger purpose.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Yeah. And one of the guests that you ran into, Yeah,
a friend of.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
The podcast, Clayton was there.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Yeah, friend of the show, big.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Time Raider fan.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
You know him from the show Mayans and many many
other UH projects as well. So I went up to
him because of course we we did his interview via zoom.
But like you know, he has followed us on social media,
like he comments on our stuff.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
But I don't know. I didn't know if you would
like remember me, I would.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Have thought the thing.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
I went over and I was like, clay it's m
j B. He's like, shut up, And of course they
gave me this big hug.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
He said, we will.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
So he says hello, he says his regards.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
I'm like, everybody's gonna be so jelly that I got
to be and he's like, can I please come through.
I was like, literally, whenever you want, just that if
you're coming on, we got to talk about your raiders,
if you want to open up box right now. So
he was great, and it was just really cool to
see so many uh Edward James almost was there was there,

(04:01):
you know.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Unbelievable and and there was somebody else that you you
said that you saw that that was a little bit
uh well, it was shorter than what you.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
Expected a Medica. Of course, you have not seen all
the incredible work. She's one throughout movie from yea.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
I remember.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
I was talking about the fact that he would watching
that movie. He probably was.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
Watching like The Colombian and Telenorela, but like English Mark anyway,
she's teeny tiny, she's like.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
A little she's she's a shorty. I was like, okay,
she was right next to me. I'm going to get
on the red carpet.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
I of course went over and fangirld and just gave
her her flowers and she was so sweet and so gracious.
But I was like, oh my god, she's one of
my like most of my friends are very short as well.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
It's like maybe five one five two, but powerful right.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
Though you're were on the heels too, right extra But.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
Even she was and I'm not like I'm tall, but
I'm not like Ga Amazon tal I wish I was
five nine, five ten.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
I'm only five to seven.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
So it was it was just cool to meet her
and she just has this presence but also like a prima.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
Right like she was so so sweet. Yeah, it was
it was really cool.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
I love that. So I had a cultural experience this
weekend as well, but it was a tickle youth sports weekend.
So baseball tournaments and go with a couple of dads
and a mom. We go to a Mexican restaurant. We
go with our kids and it's a buffet and that's it.
But you know, they have chi lived, they have a chata,

(05:34):
the whole thing, and they have Mariacci's there. So we
sit down at the top one no, actually at this restaurant. Okay, sorry,
clarify that. No, that incredible.

Speaker 4 (05:46):
Kid.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
But we go into this restaurant and there's mariachi's playing
and stuff, and so they find their way to where
we are. Everybody orders, you know, Bohemia's and Margarita is
the whole thing, and so you know, the kids, they
serve themselves and these Mariachis they come in and it's
like Guadalajada, and so they started singing Guada, you know,

(06:09):
doing the whole thing totally energizes the place. And and
the dad's mom that was with they were so into it.
You know, I'm like singing along with it. And Ben,
you know, was was watching this. He's like, wow, Dad,
this is like really cool. I'm like, yeah, let I'll
tell you. Soone's latinos, this is this is, this is
we are. So in the end, the boys end up
taking a photo with the mariachis. He literally had a

(06:31):
baseball uniform that had like rassa the grease still from
the taco he was eating. And then the walk up
song that he had was a mariachi song, right, So
it just is like funny. It was just like it
was a funny guys. Then in between games, so it
was in between this was the second. Yeah, it was

(06:51):
like it's it was like three games that.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
By the way, good on you. That's a perfect fuel.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
And you know, it's just like the dads in the mouth,
they were not you know, they're not Latinos, but they're
like they were they were immediately Yeah, absolutely, but I said,
like listen, if you're around Mariachi's Guadalajara. That's that's a
crowd pleaser period. I got you gotta go with that.
I'm Nicaraguan obviously, but that was just a fun experience.
That's so cool, and it energized the kids and they

(07:19):
were ready.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
To go, you know, and because that's a long day,
that's a very long day food. But like that also
puts you in like all right, we're ready to get.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
Back out there.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
Yeah. Yeah, so it was uh so, it was a
lot of fun. And that's why you were talking about
the cultural experiences. That's what it's all about.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
I really really want some Mexican food now, I know,
thank you live in La and we can find them
real good on them.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
Yeah yeah, all right, So lots to get to, especially
on the on on now some of the upper echelon
of teams that we were talking about. Week thirteen saw
the Eagles and the forty nine ers. The forty nine
ers came out on top and now on every power
ranking that you're going to see, NFL dot com, yeah,

(08:00):
other networks, et cetera.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
It's because they didn't just win by like one score.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
Right, they took a ta me. They went they made
a big time statement, They're in Philadelphia, and they had
Trent Williams, they had Deebo Samuel. That was important. But
the way that that game started off, the start off slow.
It looked like the Eagles were going to dictate tempo
and the style of play, and they just were able

(08:25):
to play tight enough defense on there where they were
getting finally to Jalen Hurts, and this was a massive
win for them, where if they are healthy, this is
definitely a team that can separate itself from the pack
and win the Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
I mean, I have a friend who works in the
local news space in Philly name.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
Is Francis Way. So she's not a sports girlie, but
she leans in and I look for her. So she
texted me and she was like, I'm going to the
Eagles game. And of course, of course I live over here.
I'm like, oh, you're going to the Niners game. And
she's like, right, so the Eagles game. I'm like, okay,
so you go to the Niners bright So like, this
is like a little bit of the influence right of
the space in which I operate. But she was asking

(09:07):
me and Joy of course, she put us all in
a group chat. She's like who's gonna win. Like they
keep asking me, I want to give an informed answer,
and I was like, well, you're at the link.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Yeah, and home field advantage is very real, ban yep.
And the Eagles are no joke. They're one of the
top teams to beat right now.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
However, so are the forty nine Ers, and they have
a hell of a chip on their shoulder from how
the NMC Championship game went down, all the injuries that
they and every single player on that team will say,
had Brock not gone down, had we not lost.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
As many players as we did, it wouldn't have been close.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
And they were saying that before they got to Philly
for this matchup, and so they backed that up.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
They did, They backed it up and wow.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
Yeah. And so now so now the forty nine Ers
they play the Seahawks and they just smantle the Seahawks before.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Yeah, And that's sort of how that rivalry has gone.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
It has gone. It's like one goes all the way,
the other one goes all the way. So that's the
big one in Week four team and then conversely for
the Eagles, they got a big matchup in Dallas against
the Cowboys on Sunday, Night Football, And I think this
is really going to be massive for both teams, but
especially the Cowboys because if we've mentioned before on the podcast,

(10:19):
this is like the Cowboys have been having a lot
of these empty calories, right, but they ended up beating
the Seahawks convincingly. Dak Prescott and Seedee Lamb and this
offense is played tremendous. He is at the top of
his game right now. But you know, it goes for
the defense also going off. But you know, for Dak
it's just like the bar is so high for him now.

(10:39):
People want to see him, you know, get past the
first round, the second round, go to the super Bowl,
and so this is a big game for them to
have and for how they're playing against the Eagles, you know,
and listen, it's not like the Eagles all of a
sudden suck or they're not right, but it's just like
they got now they're just facing a Cowboys team that's

(11:03):
different than the last time the and the Cowboys played
them tough. Yeah, the last time those two teams play.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
And I think that's the other side of this conversation
because every time we have spoken about the Eagles, especially
early on in this season, we've said, Okay, if you're
getting the dubs, that's all that matters. But they're not
winning in the fascinating right in which we're accustomed to
or that we expected from this Eagles team. I say
that to say, if your team is on the schedule

(11:28):
for the Eagles, you should still be concerned. Okay, that
is a tough, tough team and they know how to win, yep.
But I think that it's telling of what the playoff
push will be like. It's not going to be as easy.
That's great for us because we got some really great matchups.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
It's really good football.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
But if you're an Eagles fan, I don't think you
need to worry, but just keep a really close eye
on how these games are developing and more importantly, whether.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
They close it out or not.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
Yeah, we mentioned drum Bland as well, who's played really well,
has five pick sixes, but he got picked on a
lot and they switched him off of DK Metcalf. So
now he's gonna be facing aj Brown and you know
DeVante Smith, so that is going to be a matchup
to watch. And so at the top we heard the
Packers and the Chiefs, and the Packers hey said now

(12:20):
Jordan Love. Early on we thought like, okay, maybe this
isn't going to work out. But last few weeks this
is working out. And Matt Lafleural, by the way, is
sixteen to zero in his coaching career in December, so
this this team is also playing extremely well, the youngest team.

(12:41):
I believe with the roster that they have, they're a
team to watch, no question, certainly a team to watch.

Speaker 4 (12:47):
This.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
I'm so happy for Jordan Love, I really am, because
it's very difficult to step into a position that was
occupied by a future Hall of Famer period point blank.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
Well two really if you go too exactly if.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
You're going back historically, but remember this coach, let's everyone
temper the expectations and you can you can take that
for what it is, whether you think that he was
saying it for I just relaxed, this is just this
poor kid, whatever, or if he was like just relax,
but watch and I think the way that Jordan Loov

(13:21):
has developed throughout the season. We saw those flashes he
showed us at the beginning of They're like, oh okay, yeah,
but no one had.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
An expectation for the Packers this year, except for maybe
package but.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
Yeah, I think though from whenever I've talked to Packers fans,
they were actually ready to move on from Aaron Ry.
They've had it, they had it well for so many years, right,
and so now here's Jordan Love. And that has been
the philosophy of the Packers is to draft and develop,
and that's what they're doing now with with Jordan Love.
And then you look at the Chiefs. The Chiefs will

(13:55):
be facing the Bills, Boppy's Bills to be exact, and
the Bills are coming off of a bye. They saw,
uh Josh Allen play well against the Eels, but they
couldn't they couldn't close it against them, and they need
to win badly. They need to go essentially four and one,
whether their their last stretch of games. And you know,

(14:21):
looking at that picture, they're six and six, you know,
and the Chiefs, you know, we put them in that
in that top tier. But that offense, outside of our
guy Pacheco and Mahomes and Kelsey Rashi Rice, you don't
have trust in other guys, it feels like, and it
feels like the offense still has the same issues that

(14:43):
that they are trying to work through and haven't quite.

Speaker 3 (14:47):
Yet Yeah, with with jet being heard, MBS has been
I don't know, not what we expected, especially because last
year he made some drops part. Yeah, he was a
big drop that offense and sort of that committee of
pass catchers that that Mahomes could go to. So I mean,
look one thing about Patrick Homes. He's gonna figure out
a way. But I think it was very telling to

(15:08):
watch them even I mean, he hit Kelsey if he's obviously,
but to see even that combination not be as dominant
or as successful as we've been accustomed to them. I
think we're so used to them all, well, he's gonna
find Kelsey, it's gonna be fine. Yeah, and that wasn't
the case. And I think the Packers showed the blueprint.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
Of what you can do to that Chiefs offense.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
And also having Taylor Swift in the house and finally
losing a game in front of her as the streak
is done, Yeah, when she's actually watching, so lots to
get to. We also have to get to Platinum Power. Yeah,
Beteral Macho as well, So that's on the other side.
Week fourteen is going to be fun to watch, as
it is every week, but it's gonna be fun to

(15:50):
see how how how this playoff scenarios play out? More

And Generals Dunstone Rum to keep a little sunk of this.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
I love it.

Speaker 3 (17:08):
He was out, nobody was kind of his little his
little waves of curls jumping out the back.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
So good.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
He has been such a fun story. Who's gonna cool
this this season? Such a fun player to follow. I
think his future with the RAM is going to be great.
Gonna be a big part of that. Very very cool.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
I'm wondering, well, if you have your eye on him
for one of our favorite segments Betterro Macho.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
Yes, yes, yes, I love that there. Yes, the Pero
He's He's the definition of it because he came out
of the game. Yeah, you know, I had a a
rib issues described and cramping. It turns out he had
an acy joint issue that Sean McVay had said, and

(17:53):
people were wondering how he would be utilized with the
return of Coper Cup and we're still being used. But
the thing that's great about the Rams now is that
they are five hundred. This may end up being Sean
mcvay's best coaching job that he's done since the Super Bowl,
and the job that they did in drafting Puka Nicole

(18:16):
because there were a ton of teams. Every team passed
and did not draft him, and here he is now
setting the rookie franchise record of one thousand receiving yards
and think about more games that he can add to it.
And there was an interesting graphic that if you compared
Randy Moss through his first twelve games and Puka Nakua,

(18:38):
like Puka's numbers are equal, if not slightly better. Like
Nicoua has definitely made another guy that made an impact
on this team as a rookie, and that is going
to be a really solid duo moving forward with wide receivers,
but just the whole offense in general. Matthew Stafford, I mean,

(18:59):
they look they just look way better, and they they
took it to the Browns, totally took it to the Browns.
And this is a Browns defense that's very tough, right,
and so looking at the Rams, no one expected them
to be in this position. This is again one of
these teams that you didn't expect to be still lurking

(19:21):
in the hunt for a playoff spot, and so Pookah
is a reason for that. The other team that has
another for me at Perromacho, we had his teammate on
before in CJ. Stroud, it has to be Derek Stingley
jor Okay, Derek Stingley Junior had two interceptions since he

(19:44):
has become healthy off ir four interceptions in all, and
he's kind of emblematic of how this defense is playing
for Jamico. Ryans loved the ball Hawks as well and
just proving himself, which is crazy because this guy he
went to LSU and he he was with guys like

(20:06):
Jamar Chase, Justin Jefferson, Joe Burrow, and he could have
been a wide receiver for LSU, but decide now I'm
gonna stay and be a defensive back. Obviously he is.
He has shown up, shown out and since being again
off of IR, it's been really impressive. It's just been

(20:26):
impressive in all for this Texans team that that again
no one had expectations for whatsoever. Here they are in
the playoff push that no one expected. Playing tough for
Damiko Ryans really have taken the personality of his and
brought it to this this team and c J. Stroud

(20:49):
I think right now offensive Rookie of the Year. He
was talked about in the MVP conversation. So having defensive
players like that Will Anderson Junior again had a couple
of sacks, had some breakups. I mean, this this is
like a fun team. I just like I love watching
the Texas play.

Speaker 3 (21:07):
Football, and I knew that under Tamiko Ryan's a defensive
minded head coach. We saw what he did with the
forty nine ers and that strong defense in San Francisco.
Worthy of that top five first round selection, no question,
even going through some of the trials and tribulations, he
already went through and still be being able.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
To show out. I love what you said about he
could have been a wide receiver because.

Speaker 3 (21:30):
Any of the dbs that we talked to here, I'll
tell you, the best quarterbacks are the ones who played
on the other side of the They already know, they already.

Speaker 1 (21:38):
Know what you're about to do, and they're doing it
in reverse and trying to get at you. So I
love that for him. That's a great choice for perro macho.
That's great.

Speaker 2 (21:46):
Yeah. Okay, so so I do my perro macho. We
also have blat and no power.

Speaker 4 (21:53):
Power.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
Talk to me, who do you have?

Speaker 1 (21:56):
Okay, so I'm gonna start with it's all quarterback.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
Center, Okay, it's fine.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
We met at me guns.

Speaker 3 (22:02):
Yeah, and we got to give the love to Jordan Love.
I know we talked about him off the top of
the show, but it really is exciting, especially for the
folks in Green Bay and for this young man who
really had to sit and sort of just play his
role under Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
He did that beautifully.

Speaker 3 (22:20):
He was really learning and I love that what we
saw in flashes in those first couple of seasons that
he was in the league. Has really come to fruition
and that he is taking command of this offense, that
he is playing.

Speaker 1 (22:32):
His role perfectly.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
Two hundred and sixty seven past yard three tugs just
in that game, but through the past three eight hundred
and fifty seven yards in the year and eight touchdowns.
Zero interception. That's key, zero intercept.

Speaker 1 (22:48):
Big Okay, go off, Jordan Love. I love this for you.

Speaker 3 (22:53):
I love this Packers fans absolutely platinal power. And maybe
it took a coincidence because the green and the yellow
are giving plantain knives. I know they're big, but you
know what would be great with some cheese curds is
some some mongol, some plashed mashed plant teams over there.
Damn it, I'm hungry, you guys, I.

Speaker 2 (23:13):
Have not had before.

Speaker 1 (23:16):
They're so good?

Speaker 2 (23:17):
Are they good?

Speaker 1 (23:17):
I will tell you?

Speaker 2 (23:18):
Is it like too cheesy?

Speaker 1 (23:21):
Cheese is like my main food. There is a sneaky
place here.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
If you guys are in La, if you're in Inglewood,
if you're going to a game, cork and batter right
here stadium. Amazing cheese skirts. Now, folks from Wisconsin will
probably we'll probably say something right because.

Speaker 2 (23:39):
It's in LA.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
What they know about cheese curds.

Speaker 2 (23:41):
I like them.

Speaker 3 (23:42):
I thought they were really yummy. But I haven't been
to Wisconsin yet. Those cheese curds will probably slap up these.
But if you're in LA, that's a good option for you.
I don't say I never did anything.

Speaker 2 (23:53):
We got Jordan because we have another.

Speaker 1 (23:54):
We have another QB.

Speaker 3 (23:57):
I never want to hear the words mister irrelevant spoken
around this man ever again.

Speaker 1 (24:01):
That's it. We're gone. We're still going to use it,
of course.

Speaker 3 (24:04):
But brock party man, man man man. What I know
that in the middle of the season, there was like that,
a little scared.

Speaker 4 (24:13):
He was hurt.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
To be fair, he was hurt in that time, and
it showed. It showed got right but also and hurt.
Everybody was going through it.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
But three hundred and fourteen pass yards four touchdowns against
the Eagles in Philly at the link, Come on, you guys,
this is ridiculous. And now we're told by our amazing
producer Randy that he is the favorite to win MVP.

Speaker 2 (24:43):
I mean, who knew? Who knew?

Speaker 3 (24:45):
Earlier today on his Warner House podcast, our friend of
the show, Fred Warner was asked by his amazing wife Sidney,
who's gonna win the baby on Brock perty being the
MVP favorite.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
He said, and I quote, duh, who else is supposed
to be? So Fred's timed and he so stop playing
with us, be for real, Brock is the real deal.
I don't think that you can fight. Yeah, no, we
have enough of a sample size.

Speaker 2 (25:16):
I think for sure, I love those choices for Platino power.
But you know, in the MVP race, you have to
consider Tyreek Hill. You're got to course. I mean, he's
he's looking at two thousand yards receiving, He's gonna get
that question.

Speaker 1 (25:30):
He's going to continue to set and break records throughout
this season.

Speaker 2 (25:33):
I just think for that, I mean, who's been more
impactful to their team?

Speaker 3 (25:36):
Though arguably no one, I mean argumently, but but it's
hard not for it not to go to to a quarterback.

Speaker 2 (25:42):
I know, I know.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
I'm just saying I love the narrative for Brock. Do
you know because this kid, even so he's running.

Speaker 3 (25:49):
I saw from from Tracy Sandler, who covers the forty
nine ers exclusively for the fan Girl Sports Networking at work,
she started for herself.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
Shout out to Chasey.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
She had this amazing video from Brock coming back into
the tunnel after the game and folks in the tunnel,
that's our envy. And you know, Brock very even keel
just like didn't even smirk. He was like, wow, thank
you guys, and just like kept on running.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
Yeah, he wasn't like leaning in.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
I hope that one day we can see Brock be
a little bit more boisterous, like take it in, homie, Yeah,
you've earned it, you just yeah.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
But I think he's still kind of seeing himself as
that mister irrelevant in a way where it wasn't stay humble,
doesn't want to get ahead of himself.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
I think it just is a down to earth dude.

Speaker 3 (26:31):
I don't think it has so much to do with humility,
because I think we know that athletes, and I think
humility is the wrong word because you have to be confident,
and I don't think that one is the opposite of
the other, right, I think you both things can exist
at once.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
I just think that's his persona.

Speaker 3 (26:45):
I was able to sit down with him last year
at the Super Bowl where he was, you know, doing
like his media appearances and all of that and what
you see that's exactly how he is. Could not have
been more polite, was so so kind. His family was
with him, like they were all sort of like rocking together, yeat.
He was in the Kaki's like it was great and
that's really who he is.

Speaker 1 (27:02):
It's awesome.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
I just love that. Trent Williams said after the win
over the Eagles. Yeah, it's amazing we can do when
you have a quarterback, you know, it's like, yeah, So
Trent Williams saying that talking about the quarterbacks, that brings
me to ipunto because now with so many injuries, the
backup quarterbacks have been thrust into the spotlight and we

(27:22):
saw this yet again. Yeah Joe Flaco. But guess what though,
Joe Flacco coming off the couch plum the couch pretty
well against the Rams.

Speaker 1 (27:33):
He's obviously still training.

Speaker 2 (27:35):
Yeah yeah, yeah, well just don't don't start the whole
Remember it was the whole elite conversation that has like
been so like thank goodness, like that's not even talked about.
But yeah, jeez, I don't know. Now fits is like
in his Amazon job, but if you if you look
at even like CJ. Bethard taking over for Trevor Lawrence.

Speaker 1 (27:55):
I mean his name since he was back in San Francisco, right.

Speaker 2 (27:59):
So CJ. Bethard he's there. I mean he'll be probably
taking over then for Trevor Lawrence. That could have affect
the playoff chase there because in their division alone, here
come the Colts, who oh, by the way, they are
relying on their backup quarterback brown and Gardner Minshew, right,
and then and then you know you're you're yeah, the

(28:21):
Browns with with Joe Flacco, I mean, you know, Josh Dobbs,
who was there's so much taking over for Kyler Murray.
Then he goes to Minnesota takes over for Kirk Cousins. Yeah,
it's just like like the Bengals now with with Jake Browning.
Jake Browning, I mean he he was looking way more
comfortable against the Jaguars. And now they're six and six,

(28:44):
So who would have thought that they would have been
six and six? The Colts would be right there, you know,
And and now it looks like with with Pickett, you
know the same thing, right, so now they're relying on Trubisky.
So these backpack Yeah, boy, that's gonna be boy, that's
gonna be rough, right because they're gonna be facing the

(29:04):
Patriots and the Patriots offense has been just dreadful and
so how many points are going to be scored in
that game?

Speaker 1 (29:13):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (29:15):
So so it's just these backup quarterbacks. Now, it's like
you wanted the philosophy with these franchises. Do you go
with a veteran who has a voice in the locker room,
or do you go the other way and you draft
a guy like Jake Browning and let him develop, you know,
or go to to Jordan Love you draft him and
you develop him. It's it's it's hard, Like at Jacoby Brissett,

(29:36):
he's getting paid a lot of money to be a backup,
so he's not being utilized at the moment, but when
you need him, it's it's panic time and it's and
it's you know, desperate times called for desperate solutions, and
you'll take that. But it's just it's just these backup
quarterbacks are are going to be shaping the playoff picture,

(29:56):
no question.

Speaker 3 (29:57):
And I think that's why we can't discount these backup
positions right, Like they are intentional.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
They do have people there for a reason, and this.

Speaker 3 (30:08):
Is exactly why the game is more physical than it
ever has. And I know that there's a lot more
rules now to protect the quarterbacks, but that doesn't mean
it always does right. And I think just the wear
and tear the season is a week longer now, it
doesn't seem like much. Just ask the guys out there
feeling like they went through through a train wreck every
single play. Everyone's no, one's one hundred percent. The guys

(30:29):
will tell you that directly to your point. My ibunto
is that that's it.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
We got less than a handful of regular season games left.
It has flown by. But now we're taking a.

Speaker 3 (30:41):
Really really really close fotitos very close pictures of the
playoff picture, and it's exciting to think what January football
is going to look like. We're having a discussion earlier
about how the NFC sort of feels like it's.

Speaker 1 (30:59):
Either going to be the Eagles or the or the
Chiefs right now.

Speaker 3 (31:02):
The couple of teams really kind of pushing up there
in in this latter part of the season is certainly
in the post. But the AFC feels a little bit
more open than I think people expected it to be,
with the Chiefs not performing. I also think that we
always think the Chiefs are going to win every single matchup,
which is a fair expectation given what they've done year
to year.

Speaker 1 (31:23):
But it just reminds us.

Speaker 3 (31:24):
That these every team is beatable and it's up to
the remaining teams. I'm talking to you, Dolphins, to yours
for the taking, to curiod, listen this Raven squad. Yeah,
and shout out to Lamar who, after his Sunday night game,
went on and did the postgame interview en Espanol for

(31:45):
our amazing friend Adiana, who is the sideline reporter there.

Speaker 1 (31:48):
Finished off with a.

Speaker 2 (31:49):
Little and out he went.

Speaker 1 (31:51):
We got to find that clip because he was so
he was so good, he really really leaned into it.
So yeah, that's what I'm trying to tell you. Yeah, yeah,
it's like a playoff race.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
It's gonna yeah. But see like people that the the
Bills would be there and they're not. They're six and
six and and they may not make the playoffs, you know.
So yeah, I think I think the Raven comes out though.
But yeah, you know, but in the Lions right now,
I mean they kind of got back on track, but
you know, it's like the Lions.

Speaker 3 (32:21):
Oh, dare I not talk about the Lions? How dare
I so love the Lions and what they've done this season,
And they're not slowing down.

Speaker 2 (32:28):
No, no, they're not so handful of teams are trying
to separate themselves, but a lot of football still left
to be played. Pretty Mona is always a pleasure. I'm
glad that you're you're with us a peasants after you were,
you know, with all your celebrity buddies.

Speaker 1 (32:46):
This time I go to one of these, I'm just like,
one kicked me out. I'm just gonna so.

Speaker 3 (32:51):
I float around the room, take my little pictures, post
them on Instagram, try to network a little bit by way. Yeah,
I'm just it's it's really cool to be in those rooms.
But trust trust I'm in the back, like Hiva, come
on the podcast.

Speaker 2 (33:09):
I just want to make sure. I just want to
make sure agent for us will okay, it's all for us.
