Speaker 2 (01:22):
Uh, We've got a lot to cover on the program today,
and you know, we'll kind of we'll kind of run
throughout why we're here. We'll break that down for you
and and tell you what we're gonna be doing. But
the show is basically gonna continue on its own. I mean,
we're gonna cover the same stuff we always do. Will
we we attempt with with Davy back at Master Control
(01:44):
to to talk to people on unscreened.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
I'm gonna put that on Davy bless us Should I
put that on Davy so much?
Speaker 2 (01:51):
He's been through so much. So so guys, here we are.
I will tell you our location is absolutely fabulous. It
is absolutely fabulous. We're at Big O' Ranch. I mean,
and when we came in today, Speedy has already been
up here. This is his third time, uh talking about
a video.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Yeah, when when when we came when we came in.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
All I could think about is I felt like that
I was going hunting and that we were coming into
this really cool lodge and did have you know?
Speaker 3 (02:18):
And and and and now I'll be.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Honest with you, I'm expecting like some really uh you know,
like like a staff to like cook us all breakfast,
like we're like we're on we're going to these exclusive
honey places. But they have provided some breakfast for us
with Greg. They have cinnamon rows. Once again, Big Oat
cares about a lot of things, will tell you about.
They do not care about Greg's type two diabetes. You know.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
They do have fruit though there is some fruit there,
eat it, but they do have all right. So Adler
just just gave us the signal, and it's Adler talked
to talk to the tubers out there, talk talk to
to uh what what can they expect to that. It's
gonna be Uh, it's gonna be just live. We're gonna
just go with it.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
Okay, So there it is, just wait.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
Something right now that's really bothered me.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
Okay, but I can't.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
I can't do that till the break. It it's not
a big deal. It's just there's a little like icon
on the screen that I want.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Gone.
Speaker 4 (03:12):
Right, But we can see you guys, we can hear
you guys.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
Good you know anything in here that we need to move? Okay,
good to go. I appreciate you ironing your staff shirt
and coming on in where.
Speaker 5 (03:23):
To find that out back it was in a drawer
and you sit down. It was in a drawer. I'm
gonna go back over there.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
I don't like this. He didn't he want he wants.
Speaker 5 (03:33):
We were just going to hear to talk about stuff.
But now I'm getting made fun of.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
No, I said you could sit down and relax. That's
not making fun I thought he was. He just wants to.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
I can't hear anything either. Am I talking really loud
right here?
Speaker 3 (03:47):
Isn't him right? Hair havenot?
Speaker 1 (03:49):
Okay?
Speaker 5 (03:49):
Well yeah, okay, now I can hear. Okay, I'm gonna
talk like a normal person though.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
See you were hollering. Okay, yeah, We're not gonna put
you on the on this again. I can't hear anything.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
Man mentioned with So why do you think if you
get on the mic over here and sit with us
with heads and I, we're gonna make fun of you.
Speaker 5 (04:06):
Yeah, because it's already started. You said nice of you
to wrinkled shirt.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
And I didn't say that.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
I said thank you for it.
Speaker 4 (04:13):
This is one of the nicest looks I've ever had.
Speaker 3 (04:15):
You get Kevin and Franklin here is fine. It doesn't
get rich.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
You get Kevin and Franklin that he's even got look
at you. You're pulling up like that, just adding to
the wrinkledness. Right now.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
You look great?
Speaker 1 (04:26):
Were you not when you were over there? I don't
think I was. Well, that's hard.
Speaker 5 (04:30):
It's hard to be on a show and produces. I
don't know if you guys know that. It's incredibly difficult.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
I know. But that's why you're in here, especially on
the road by the way. Yes, yeah, all right, so
I did bring along my cord and a handheld. If
you want to just talk from over there, okay, yeah,
that's here, or just do that.
Speaker 5 (04:47):
See if I can reach these donuts, Well yeah I can't.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
You're not on camera, though, you can't. Okay. So I
like people seem to eat. That's why I take food
to go.
Speaker 5 (04:57):
You can actually take that over there and stand over there.
I don't don't even like eating restaurants. I'll take it home,
carry out on them. By the way, I'm like Quasimoto.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
Look away from my shame, I will.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
I will say this, if you don't like people to
watch you eat, you're one of the few people to
ever be on the show, because I will tell you
it's never been an issue.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
And so we do have a lot to cover. We'll
we'll hit that with that. Brody Crawl is gonna be
our guest. We'll chat with him periodically throughout the show. Uh,
because Big Oak Ranch I do a lot of great
things Big Oak dot org if you want to go
there to find out all the information about what they do.
Speaker 6 (05:36):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
And we look forward to unpacking that throughout the show
as we cover other things today. One of the things
that we're already dealing with on location is Speedy realizing
that all the things he does to prepare us for
a live broadcast, none of us pay attention to, especially Greg.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
No, especially Greg, especially Greg, And it kind of hurts Speedy.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
I watched you.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
It kind of hurts you things a little.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
What It's just it's it's just like one of those
things where I knew it was going to happen, but uh,
and it wasn't a lot because I know with you guys,
you can't feed you too much information. You can't do
it too quickly or too soon, because then you'll forget
about it. And so I waited till yesterday afternoon, sent
you the address, some landmark directions, uh, and just some
(06:16):
you know, some basic stuff, and then then I actually
spun around and I videoed coming in the entrance of
Big Oat Ranch, just so you would know where to park,
what to look for, and what entrance to go in.
And and uh, this guy over here about half an
hour ago goes, hey, where do I park where y'all at?
And I'm like, well that that means, I means he
(06:37):
did listened to a watch a thing. You even put
the distance from each individual house to be here. I did.
I went in and I found your your addresses, and
I found that where y'all would be coming from. And
I said, this is the You did a great And
I've been you know these on these different map apps
that you can go in and go all right, here's
the directions, and this is when I need them, like im.
(06:59):
It's so I even't went into the day at three
thirty or four am and said this is the travel time.
I want to tell you that. Now goofy forty three minutes. Yeah, great,
thanks buddy. You already Greg, You're already here.
Speaker 7 (07:10):
You're right here.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
It's not gonna do me any good. And by the way,
the video tells you where to park, You've already parked.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
There's all that's.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
Yeah, you did, Yeah, you know what. He was funny
because he said, now I should have lied and just
said I watched it, but his call told me he
didn't watch it. There was no reason to need to
lie either. Bad exam for kids. That's good. You're somebody's grandfather. Now,
I just need to remember. I just don't kind of
like you know, you've stopped trying to reason with unreasoned
you do it. I'm gonna stop wasting my time, right,
I'm gonna stop wasting my time doing things that I
(07:39):
felt bad about that. Well, here's here's okay. I just
want to just notice. Yeah, I didn't scroll down far enough.
I saw the distance and I was like, okay, I
want to I want well, that's interesting. I want to
pass along to this. Uh, pass this along to you.
But even though none of us do it, okay, and
Greg really doesn't. Greg watches. He looks at under the
(08:00):
prep that you sent us. I look at some of it.
I think Adlert puts an effort in. It looks like
over there like you're I said.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
Some of it.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
Yeah, and and I don't want that to stop you
from doing it.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
It's really I'm changing.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
Yeah, it's gonna be on how much your mistagments did
you look at because Speedy provided a tremendous amount of information.
Speaker 5 (08:20):
I watched the video that Speedy sent us. But you
it pulling into Big Oak Ranch, which is see the
person wave at wave at me when he was leaving.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
It's nice the video Speedy.
Speaker 4 (08:31):
What Speedy does is he gives too much information.
Speaker 5 (08:33):
He'll be like, all right, so you're gonna see a
sign it says Big Oak Ranch.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
B I g oh, that's not what details And that's it.
I'm done. I'm done because you're steering wheel of your
car to turn. It is what they do. What they do, Jesus.
Speaker 5 (08:53):
Now on the right, it's your gas pedal that will
make you go down the road where you part.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
That's what they did. Peace sentence from park Break. I'm
back to break.
Speaker 3 (09:04):
Click here for how they got the name Big Oak.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
Yeah, let me give you a little history. Yeah, I
regret getting Adler Mike. Now, yeah, now that was preparis.
Speaker 3 (09:15):
No.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
No, that's fine.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
I bet that's some people probably think that you're serious.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
But that's fine because I was sitting in the studio
like forty minutes by myself this morning, because I got
in there earlier than ship.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
I had a good time.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
I could have watched it thing, it really could have
direct When you're waiting on day.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
I see you on your phone alive, but then you
claim you're.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
Not on it.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
All right, we'll be back.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
Davy Allen at Master Control, Super Time, the Engineer and
of course all of us here on location at Big
Oak Ranch.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
We'll be back. You got the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 7 (09:42):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
All right, we're back own location. Uh, loving are set
up here. We're here at Big Old Ranch. Want to
be part of Big Old Ranch Ministry and help further
the mission simple. If you want to find out about volunteering, donating,
and parenting opportunities, just go to Big.
Speaker 1 (10:17):
Old dot org.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
So you know how you never know how the day
is going to start, and you know, you get up,
you know, we talk about.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
This a lot.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
We get up at a weird time and all that,
and so you get up, and what's the first thing
you do when you finally get out and get ready
for the day. You're gonna go over to your phone.
You realize, you know, Greg, No, you check and see
did any anybody that's not on your list that would
make the phone ring? Have have any of them, and
(10:48):
I'll be honest, you all are always the one. I'm like,
what in the world does our group text have it? What?
Speaker 3 (10:52):
Any world? And so, uh, I look and uh, of
course I saw the.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
Wants to get on it now.
Speaker 3 (10:59):
Yeah that I wanted to say, how bad I want
to seen that?
Speaker 2 (11:04):
So I look and I saw all the information that
you put to good for the broadcast that Greg ignored,
and I do appreciate it. That and all of a sudden,
I see I see one of the salespeople. One of
the salespeople, because you know, we have to we do
a lot of stuff away from the show for clients
as well, you know, gripp and Grin those kind of things,
have meetings with people, see what's going on. And Greg
(11:26):
has a client that he endorses. He's their person.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
They've been a partner with the show for probably ten
over ten years. Yes, they were.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
They they tried to get the Greg endorsement, really when
no one should have tried it. Yeah, yeah, Greg's painter
dot com and we have It's been a great partnership.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
Peter.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
Now he's uh about every quarter we get together with
the sales and we go you know, and hey, you
know just talk kind of things going on and were
well done. Greg and Claire had a great idea. She's
the sales rep. Let's go to top Golf and play
and eat right now, I don't. I can't picture you
at Top Golf. I can see you eating the wins.
I can see my score. You can definitely pitch me down.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
So when I looked at this, I don't. I don't
play golf.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
I saw a report that everybody beat you, including the girls.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
What happened? I will say this. I could have sat
there and tried to hit it in that one up
close and get a bunch of points. I was just
trying to hit the ball and it not slice or
miss it. I missed it a bunch of times. You
know when you just woof it, you woofed it woofed
a few and so I said, I'm just trying to
hit the ball. So every now and then I'd get
a hold of one and it would go far, but
it wouldn't go in the scoring thing.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
So you want us to think that you had that
you had some good drives maybe four okay maybe, but
they weren't like one couple of them hit up here.
We o my here it is there's the score. Greg,
you're not even I mean you got up top.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
He's really good. Me get these down. Can you tell
that Peter place his daughter Maddie, she she'll hit it
straight and point so so Maddie beat you, oh bad?
Even Peter beat you. I really thought I would beat Claire.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
I look at that, but I didn't. I was just
trying to hit the ball.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
Claire got two hundred and fifty two. You got one eighty.
When they're hitting that little close one, you know, all right,
Madison got four eighty mass hitting pretty and Peter got
six twenty two years of golfer.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
He's right legit. But I looked around.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
They doubled you up, and have you ever been well?
I wasn't worrying about scoring. I was just trying to
hit the ball and try and take care of the climb. Yeah,
I mean you got that, Peter wing sure, sure, no
need to let all the women there win, but yeah, yeah,
And you know we talked about it, and you know
that'd be a good time to do some painting. Here
he goes, buddy, we're talking about your golf. Came, I
(13:37):
know that you coming. That's great painter dot com there
he goes, that's the best week. He's off and running.
You write how much work they've done at my house? Yes,
I do lunch, just getting ready for last Christmas alone
and great. You know, if you'd life in a great
partnership over the years and we have have a good
I wish i'd hit the ball a little better. But
next time I worry about scoring because I got to
look around. Most of the people in there are not
(13:58):
very good. No, because most people there just going there
to have fun being right. But I just got to
concentrate on trying to hit the ball real far and
it be in the middle. And I never was like,
I hit some long ones, go for the holes. Yeah, yeah,
and you you can hit them up close. We knew
you had a client thing last night. We knew that
(14:19):
you were at top Golf, so when you came in
just no offense, okay, and I know that whatever, but
it threw us a little bit when you walked in
and said last.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
Night I got hammered, right. We were like, I meant
to school.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
I know you did, but when you said that sound
really bad in the game, that's good bad.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
It's Greg's what Greg's painter dot com.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
Please tell me there's a picture view on it, please,
and please tell me you had an updatedn't who knows
when it's probably yeah, okay, so Greg's painter dot com
or org com dot com.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
Okay, there is right there. I see your face on there?
Bad all right, so I need to see that big
old grill in there.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
I don't think my face is on there.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
I've seen some things they put out on social media
with you on it, and that picture has.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
Not been updated. Well yeah, so.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
I still yeah, I'm like I got that picture when
I first started working there. Yeah, yeah, you had a
bad picture. It's not a bad don't look like me.
I bet you. You got a West Coast strut you got
you got the dark hair still kicking.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
You could look at that picture and go, who's that?
Speaker 1 (15:19):
You know, if you were, you're center talking table, right,
But now I got I had fun. Yeah, and I
love you know, the feedback. And you know, Painting Company
again partner with this show for over ten years. Yeah,
that's crazy. It's been ten years. Yeah, and you know,
you know, they're one of the few people have that
kind of access to Greg's.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
It's hard to land, yes, I mean, you know, to
get Greg into both. That ain't easy. Noetup going out
on a weeknight, gripping and grinned playing top golf.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
Who was great play top golf for now his grandkids?
Speaker 1 (15:48):
And who else?
Speaker 3 (15:49):
Greg? Peter, that's about it.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
Peter and this little girl.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
Yeah yeah, holds his daughter.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
She's probably her twenties. Oh really okay, she works with
them too. And what and what place did you come in?
Speaker 3 (16:00):
I was dead last.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
I wasn't trying to score. I'm just trying to hit
the ball. I woofed it a few times. I just
didn't want to woof it. Wolf. It's bad because I'll
slice one man. You ever hit the back, now, that's when.
Speaker 3 (16:10):
You get hurt.
Speaker 1 (16:10):
I got clothes.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
Yeah, are you sure? Accidentally on text Nation wants to
know if you're sure? Now I tomorrow you will be
three rounds speedy. I want to ask you as a
you know, hey, I play golf, my son's play golf.
Speaker 1 (16:22):
One of my son's works in golf. Where where what
do you.
Speaker 3 (16:26):
Do with top golf?
Speaker 1 (16:28):
You know, it's it's funny you say that because Tyler,
you know, who does it like as a job. You know,
he wants to bring his own clubs and I'm like,
you can't be that guy. You cannot be that guy.
So not at top golf that's bad form. Well, I
mean you can because you see people bringing their own
clubs in all the time. But I always approach it just, hey,
(16:48):
we're going to have fun to pray. It's great food,
it's awesome entertainment. Uh, just go enjoy yourself, you know.
And but do you have some that that might want to,
you know, bring a driver or something like that. And
it's really good because you can cater to both. You can't.
You got the people who can get in there and
really hit it and do all that, but they're also
people like me. If you want to try to score,
you can score, and the compete with Yeah, there's different
(17:10):
games you can play, which is kind of fun because
to what Greg's saying. You you know, you go, hey,
hey this you landed here, this is this many points? Okay,
how many do we need? And then you know, you
try to yeah, and then you have some that go
I'm just gonna try to hammer the back net and
see how far I can hit it. You know. Yeah.
So when you were over the ball last night, at
any point, did you go all right, I'm really trying.
(17:32):
Kind of like when Kyle Maynard, Uh you were wrestling him. Yeah,
you me. You leaned to me and you said, all right,
I'm really trying try this down. I started about when
first round, I didn't really try. Second round, I started trying. Okay,
it didn't turn out very well.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
You aggravated, you show yourself.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
No, because I had I knew it was going any cussin,
I gotta know what you ate had wings and then
the cheese dip I knew.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
I knew really good.
Speaker 1 (17:55):
Yeah, bring it right to you, to right to you,
and that's something it's fun. And look, we didn't really
they needed because it had warmed up a little bit,
but they got heaters right there right there actually a
little hot. Yeah really yeah. The last time I went,
we went was a f as a family and it
was so cold. But Tyler was like, no, Dad, you
understand they have heaters, so I don't think we're just
gonna be out there.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
Thank you might want to look into that for Thanksgiving?
Speaker 1 (18:19):
Yeah, thank you very much. Yeah, thank you. I looked
at the burglary yesterday and I said, I't wonder how
you're gonna down there berg leaves in all right, so
bottom of the hour. Hey, it'll gather leaves a lot
of hay rigs on trees, all right, so bottom of
(18:40):
the hour will be back. Greg, thank you for not
doing well to make the client feel good.
Speaker 7 (18:44):
Yeah, the Rick Burgers Show.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
We're back here. We are Big Oak glad to be here.
Speaker 2 (19:04):
Big Oak Ranch is our host, and we thank them
so much for being with us. We'll talk to Brody
Kroyle coming up next hour and he'll drop in in
and out throughout the broadcast today. Now you are going
to get really tired of this particular bed music today,
and I apologize for that. But in order to give
you the YouTube option today, we're not able to cover
(19:26):
licensed music.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
So we're just have to deal with it for today.
But you know, I think having the tubers involved on
a location show is worth it.
Speaker 3 (19:36):
I'm on tuber so glad you're all here.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
By the way, in our state of Alabama, we're facing
a critical shortage of foster homes. One of the things
we want to bring awareness to today some six thousand
children in foster care. Big Old Ranch Communities are extending
their mission of relieving the suffering of foster children Alabama.
So good to have the folks at Big Old participate
(20:00):
fainting in that. All right, So text Nation is good
to have you on location too, except for the fact
that you are gonna over analyze everything and and then
you can just quickly text about it.
Speaker 3 (20:13):
Which is good.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
We enjoy that Speedy is not swiveling his chair because
he's nervous. Now, he's swiveling because Greg's on one side,
I'm on the other. We're all facing the camera for
for YouTube. So Speedy feels the need to face this
and and and conveniently, the wonderful people here at Big
Oak and this beautiful facility. Uh they've given us swivel
(20:36):
chairs and Mark Companies are so nice and so Speedy swiveling. Yeah,
I mean I was just that was like I'm the
I'm the net and y'all are the tennis players, and
I'm just going back and forth.
Speaker 3 (20:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (20:47):
So so it's one of those things that that you're
going to get from Speedy today, and there's really not much.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
I'm a turn my head now. Yeah, it's like like
black hunting. I'm just gonna move my eyes.
Speaker 2 (20:57):
Uh some things, uh, programming know, if you're part of
the the the family here Yesterday's Wednesday Bible Study. The
archive is available. It came out, you know, as it
always does, not long after the Bible study. This is
interesting because this is God's resume about himself. And and
I find it interesting. Now when when God gets into
(21:20):
hey job, take a look at these animals, do you
do you find it odd? I guess I shouldn't say odd,
because he's God the beginning, at the end, I find
it interesting. That's a better word. May find it interesting.
The Ostrich made it? Would you would you think the Ostrich?
But the ostridch made it. And and and when I
(21:41):
made a showing off Ostrich what God did. God's proud that,
by the way, God's proud of the Ostrich. So but anyway,
so if you go watch that or listen to it,
it's it's really really interesting.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
So it is.
Speaker 1 (21:52):
I listened on the way in I started last week.
I had to catch up. And when he starts running
the resume and showed up in the storm storm. Yeah,
but and then starts going through the different things and
then talks about the ocean and how if he if
he wasn't controlling the ocean, it would be ms. Not
only did I create it, I was able to control it. Yeah.
(22:16):
So if you don't think I'm in a storm or anything,
you're wrong.
Speaker 3 (22:19):
Right.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
So also at that point, you know, Joe's really getting
a lot of shut up juice.
Speaker 3 (22:24):
But anyway, so catch catch that.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
I got it.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
Catch that.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
We also were watching and picking up on some things
as we were getting started today, and you know, I
was actually.
Speaker 3 (22:36):
Listening to things that Speedy was was talking about.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
And and what is this thing about Billy Napier. I
heard you talking about it. Whether it was that in
the video, Yeah, no, Greg, he actually was talking about
that as he was pulling out some prep today, some
things to talk about.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
A number of publications had picked up saying that Georgia
had hired former head coach for Florida Napier Uh to
be a consultant on the staff. There was rumors and
everything because he was at Tuesday's Georgia practice. Georgia is
getting prepared to play Texas, and apparently, you know a
lot of these coaches are good friends and Napier and
(23:12):
Kirby Smart go back, go way back, Uh and everything,
And so he called Napier in to come to practice
on Tuesday to consult about getting prepared for Texas because
Florida has played and beat Texas when he was the
head coach, And so I don't know if he's like
officially on the staff as a consultant list or if
he just had him come in for this week. The
(23:33):
publications that I've seen, they're not clear on that. They
just confirmed he was at tuesday's practice, and Kirby Smart
had a comment on it and said, yeah, they've played
Texas and so I had him come in.
Speaker 3 (23:45):
Yeah, what's wrong with that?
Speaker 1 (23:46):
Yeah, he's he's he's available. Yeah, he's got time. And
this Hey, this Brian Kelly thing in l s U,
this is yeah, yeah, this calls are trying to find
I don't know, but it's kitting. But but but Brian
Kelly and sending back his lawyers against ls will take
the entire fifty three police and somehow l s U
(24:07):
is trying to find a way not to pay the
entire amount. And like you said, Greg, they're looking this
word calls. Yeah, keep it fired with calls. Well, Well,
let me ask you the words you did something illegal or.
Speaker 2 (24:18):
Something I know that wouldn't yeah, because it couldn't be,
because you know, it's kind of funny. I'll tell you
one way you get fired for calls is when you
don't win enough games. But but I'm sure that does
not exempt the buyout now games.
Speaker 3 (24:30):
Yeah, you gotta do something.
Speaker 2 (24:31):
But you know, as uh as we were taught by
our dad, hate good good good good news, guys. If
dad Dad's teams keep keep winning, everybody's gonna love dad.
If Dad start losing the same people will hate Dad. Yeah,
uh and uh and so that's you know, that's what
that usually is how you.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
Get get fired.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
But but I know that's not calls legally. You know,
when you start talking about that, do something like, of
course an how everything's legal to pay people. But I'm
sitting here looking at it, and it says here that
in illegal filing against l s U, Brian Kelly's attorney
says that l s U has taken the position that
he has not formerly been terminated. And he's like what, oh,
(25:07):
like he's still yeah, and we and we mentioned that yesterday.
But but Brian Kelly is is saying, well, we're gonna,
We're not gonna, we're not gonna sit back and play
defense here. We're gonna we're gonna file suit against y'all
for for not paying.
Speaker 3 (25:22):
Yeah, yeah, again, look at this paragraph here where it
says you.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
Know that he has not been formally terminated, as you said,
and they've informed coach Kelly's representatives for the very first
time that l SU believe grounds for termination for calls existed.
But now, what in the world would that be? M
that told us so interesting? I mean pretty interesting stuff.
Uh so uh so that, yeah, that happens. And then
(25:49):
you know, Greg, I know that you and I don't
do NFL on Thursday night.
Speaker 3 (25:52):
I just can't.
Speaker 2 (25:53):
Uh, but there's no way I'm want to do NFL
on Thursday night for this matchup.
Speaker 1 (25:57):
I just I just can't watch the Jets play. Oh.
I mean to me, when the Jets are playing, I
could not be less interested.
Speaker 2 (26:06):
They're playing the Patriots, who, by the way, are having
a kind of secret good season that nobody's talking about it.
Speaker 1 (26:14):
Didn you say they were eight and two right now? Yeah,
they're eight and two U three and two at home?
Uh and they played the two and seven Jets. Now
I know that. Uh that Gronk Wednesday officially signed the
the I guess the Patriots one one day? Whatever is
he going to retire? Tonight at the game, like officially
(26:36):
or was that just yesterday afternoon? Do you know did
he just sign it and then retire or do they
like make a reference to that tonight? I wonder?
Speaker 5 (26:45):
I think Craft he and Craft him, He and Craft
did something and Gronk was joking around like, hey, maybe
I could make this a two day thing and I
could play can I get a signing bonus? Craft did
some kind of uh press conference.
Speaker 1 (27:03):
Okay, yeah, I see here. Okay, he retires at at
the press conference, okay, okay, all right, and then Robert
Craft was like, let's go okay, okay, can I ask
you this? Yeah? Did you know what just hit me?
Speaker 2 (27:16):
Do you think that Bill Belichick because he, you know,
was removed from the Patriots and Craft awkwardly, I mean
he retired.
Speaker 1 (27:24):
Did they have to fire him? Did Belichick get fired from?
I can't remember? But do you think mutual?
Speaker 2 (27:31):
Do you think he went out and said, I'm going
to try to date a girl even younger than what
Craft would take. Oh he's showing him up? Yeah, like
I'm gonna show Craft up. I bet I bet I
can find one even younger and I don't even have
to well, I guess he is kind of paying for it.
Speaker 5 (27:43):
But yeah, yeah, there's always a price.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
Yeah, there's always a price. That I started to say, well,
well I have I have or will I have a
one liner about Belichick's girlfriend that I haven't used yet?
I don't think you should, but I will tell you
a good one.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
Okay, what's it's a little bit in sense, okay, And
so uh, I find myself going, I don't know that
the laugh is worth it, which is rare usually usually,
especially if y'all know this this year, we're pretty much
going for the laugh.
Speaker 1 (28:12):
Yes you have.
Speaker 3 (28:13):
You know a lot of times that's been maybe not
the best.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
It's like when the guy called the other day and
he says, Rick, do you ever just just radio Rick
and Bible study of Rick?
Speaker 3 (28:21):
Or do those?
Speaker 2 (28:22):
Is it hard sometimes for those to coexist? I would
like to think no, But but the answer probably is
at times yes, yeah, you know, I mean, if you're
just being honest, I mean.
Speaker 1 (28:32):
So it's a tough line to one. Yeah, but I
mean it is a good line, but it's just it
is it is just not appropriate now where y'all get
it in the break probably, So yeah, and that's you
know that relationship brings so much material. Oh I know, yeah,
it's almost like and the reason why I'm not going
for the line is what you just said.
Speaker 3 (28:48):
There's so much material. I don't need it. No, that's true,
you know I don't need that line.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
So I'm hearing now that like the a D that
the l s U saying the athletic director did not
have the authority to fire Brian Kelly. So since he
didn't come back to work. Uh, they're saying that was
the call. That's funny. So one of the reports is
that the ad is didn't have the authority to fire
him he didn't show up. That's calls.
Speaker 7 (29:15):
Oh why that won't he was the Rick Burger's Show.
Speaker 3 (29:26):
We're back, you guys.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
The Gang's all here, Speedy, Greg and Adler on location today.
Speaker 3 (29:32):
We're at Big O' Ranch.
Speaker 2 (29:34):
Find everything you could possibly ever want to know by
going to Big Oak dot Org. Brody Kroll CEO we'll
be hanging out with us uh later in the program
and we're gonna have some fun. But we always have
a blast with with Brody, So that's coming up.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
A little bit later on today.
Speaker 2 (29:53):
Also, don't forget if you're if you're out there, and
you could be in this situation where you you need
to get rid of a house fast. The people to
do that or sell my house fast, they can make
it happen. You're like, what, well, yeah, I mean that's
all they do. And you're not gonna be dealing with
(30:14):
any you know, real estate commissions or anything like that
to an agent. And we're talking about, you know, a
house that you ended up with, maybe for the family.
You know, you had somebody that went on in, maybe
me mall went on in and left you her house.
And you're like, wow, I don't know what I would
do with that, And so you need somebody to move
(30:38):
that house for you. Did you know even even if
it needs some repairs or there's things that need to
be removed from the house that they can do that.
They'll do all that for you. So sell my house fast.
Here's the number one eight hundred seventy three four zero
five zero four. Google has five star reviews everywhere. You
can also find that number if you're not in a
(30:59):
position to write it down right now, by going to
Rick burgesshow dot com. Uh under the sponsors and and
put them to work and they'll give you a fair deal.
And they'll get you cash for the house that needs
to be moved and needs to be moved fast.
Speaker 1 (31:12):
That's right, Rick, What is it? What do you get
to look at?
Speaker 2 (31:14):
You? Text nation, text nation. I want you all to know.
Do y'all overanalyze?
Speaker 1 (31:21):
Yes? Are y'all funny? Yes? Absolutely. When somebody said, now
that we know God is proud of the ostrich, we
know he's also proud of speeding because they have the
same legs that you see stuff like that, it's just
so good. Yeah, Greg looks like he actually did get hammered.
I mean, all that is so good.
Speaker 2 (31:38):
LSU is doing the real life version of when Michael
Scott wanted to fire Toby.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
They are they're working that same deal. So, I mean,
what they're saying doesn't even make sense, and I don't
know if it's true, but that's that's the reports is
that today they're saying he never really officially got sided.
Speaker 2 (31:58):
Oh Greg, my wife thinks you're wildly attracted for some reason.
We live right next to the ranch. It'd be great
if you can stop by and that like you're lost, good.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
Spy. I was thinking, as I come further down this way,
I'll go home through gadgton. Okay, so I don't know
how did you go FM it from here yet? Hello? What? Now?
What's femt man being feminine?
Speaker 3 (32:29):
What a video showed me how to get out?
Speaker 1 (32:31):
I'm to get in, Greg, Greg, I'm telling you you're
gonna have a speedy or he won't send us. No,
I won't say this. I honestly feel bad. I should
have you don't feel bad. I've heard that for how
many years you've been with us? Now? Right, Greg? It's
gonna take you fifty four minutes to get home? Okay, bad, Okay,
But I don't have to go allway back. I can
cut through you down Oh here he goes. Huh. I mean,
(32:53):
I'm just saying, if you want to, this is where
you say, tell everything about maps is wrong. But you
can just go down eleven. Yeah, yeah, you go down
eleven then jump up on fifty nine. That's yeah. So
uh and thank you? Are you're gonna go video? Yeah?
Speaker 7 (33:08):
Right?
Speaker 1 (33:08):
I just tell you I just pulled it up.
Speaker 2 (33:10):
I'd also like to if I could, I'd like to.
I'd like to take text nation and just talk to
them just a minute.
Speaker 1 (33:14):
Yeah, could you let them know? Everybody can see right, please.
Speaker 3 (33:17):
That's what exactly right.
Speaker 2 (33:19):
And I and when I say this, I know what
I'm saying is only gonna throw fuel on the fire.
So this really I don't know why I would do
this right, So there's no just not now go ahead.
But but you guys have to understand. And even on
location today, something that you know, Greg didn't appreciate either,
is that that speedy we can see you guys here.
Speaker 1 (33:37):
We've got a really big screen. It's about it. It's
as big as the one back at the regular studio.
That's why we're looking off to our left.
Speaker 3 (33:44):
I think it's actually bigger.
Speaker 1 (33:46):
It may be, but the font is in this belt swivel.
You're gonna take me about it.
Speaker 2 (33:50):
But anyway, I want you all to know, especially on
the days that we have vox seats and today when
we talk to a guest.
Speaker 1 (33:58):
Or so everybody can see you.
Speaker 2 (34:01):
Yeah, okay, when when people like do something and all
of a sudden, y'all are all texting bibbity Bill that
was stupid.
Speaker 1 (34:09):
You know what's wrong with his ears? They just look
around and see it that one lady going to detail
really mean to her? Oh really mean? So y'all, y'all
don't need to text people you're making fun of can
actually they can see if we have live and the
people that are here, I mean like they you know,
very very needy children that need help they change their lives.
(34:32):
And the people that that volunteer and support this this ministrant,
and those are the people that can see what you're texting.
Right when the CEO, Brody Crass sits down.
Speaker 2 (34:42):
Yeah, and all the thing that that all the things
that this organization and he and his family have done
for children, don't let the first thing he sees from
you is honk if you sack Brodie, because I know
that's what you're gonna do.
Speaker 3 (34:54):
Yeah, I know you're gonna do it. And and that's
why they were.
Speaker 1 (34:56):
Already they had all that one that's that's that's it. Yeah,
that means that that when we have him, I'm shutting down.
Speaker 3 (35:04):
That don't make us turn it off. I am for
about fifteen minutes.
Speaker 1 (35:07):
It's gone. We can do that.
Speaker 2 (35:08):
What's funny is watching Speedy back at the home studio
when y'all were like saying to a person that just
had a heartfelt conversation with us, Yeah, the box seats
what's wrong with his nose?
Speaker 1 (35:19):
You know, stuff like that, Yeah, yeah, how fat is he?
You know?
Speaker 3 (35:23):
And and wors cowboy had in Oh Nate, won't him
come back?
Speaker 1 (35:28):
I don't know? Hey, dude, right, even though he's hunting today,
but he's got a giant deer.
Speaker 5 (35:35):
On videos here, people will come in and be like,
my life was falling apart, and then the man Church
really turned everything around, and then you look on the
screen it's.
Speaker 1 (35:45):
Like, hey, Baldy, let it go. He's like could They're
like that uncle that comes to holidays and says inappropriate thing.
Speaker 5 (35:56):
Yeah yeah, And now us telling him to not just
do anything, it's just gonna make it worse. If you
were to walk into a room of the chatters and say, hey, y'all,
don't fart, you would.
Speaker 1 (36:06):
Just be like, yeah, yeah, yeah. I think we could
be on a cancer wing of terminally ill children that's
named after somebody, and we're there to talk about the
donation to the hospital, and somebody would crack on somebody.
I really do know. They would absolutely and I'll go here.
(36:28):
Some of them are very creative. That's what they do. Writers.
Speaker 5 (36:32):
They do nice do rag ll cool jay. I know
that's not appropriate.
Speaker 1 (36:37):
Now, it's not. I mean they have.
Speaker 2 (36:39):
It's almost like they think, because they're texting and all
you can see is their phone number, that they can
live with no heart.
Speaker 1 (36:45):
Yeah, exactly, you can't face.
Speaker 3 (36:48):
I'm sorry. I don't discourage them.
Speaker 1 (36:51):
So much.
Speaker 2 (36:52):
I know that actually, thank you. I think for a
moment I had them willing, and then they hear from
you that you like it.
Speaker 1 (36:58):
That's the end of it, you know, feature. I know
we're saying that, we're saying, keep bringing on just maybe
nothing too off color. Yeah, but watching watching, keep the
cussing to a minimum. And if you're pretty good and
know how to call yourself, if it's a very serious topic,
maybe let that get timing you. Maybe just let it
go for maybe eight minutes and then send it now.
I would like to say that I would like to sleep.
Speaker 2 (37:19):
I like to say that Greg Adler and me that
we I like to say we don't enjoy watching you
try to go over and make sure they don't see it.
Speaker 1 (37:26):
But we do. You know, speech like the worst was
that lady that thank you? Lord? Yes, Rick was going
to be the guy to save everybody from it, and
what I don't know what he was doing, but he
almost was enlarging it.
Speaker 5 (37:42):
You just kept going to's like, oh wait, let me
scroll up, let me scroll back down, scroll up.
Speaker 1 (37:48):
I went over there looking like a.
Speaker 5 (37:49):
Caveman hitting the wheel, and we're all just reading this thing.
Speaker 3 (37:52):
Oh there it is again there.
Speaker 2 (37:54):
If you're gonna go try to scroll down to hide
a very off color comment about somebody in the k audience,
you need to know how to do it.
Speaker 1 (38:01):
Yeah, you shouldn't go over and try it for the
first time.
Speaker 5 (38:05):
Coming back up, I had to just shut it all down.
I was like, Rick, stop touching the mouth. Everyone look
away from the screen please.
Speaker 2 (38:12):
Yeah, sorry, that wasn't so so just text nation know
that just anybody in the studio and in this room
can see your text.
Speaker 1 (38:21):
Yeah, just know that you've been out in the hall.
I mean everything's blast around here.
Speaker 2 (38:25):
I saw somebody reading him right through that door just
a minute again. The top of the hour, he was.
Speaker 7 (38:29):
The Weak Burgess Show.
Speaker 8 (38:40):
Yes, show.
Speaker 9 (38:45):
The Boys, Reason for Reason.
Speaker 5 (38:56):
Here we go.
Speaker 1 (38:57):
It is a brand new hour of The Burgess Show.
Speedy Greg Adler all here. We're on location Big Oak Ranch.
Find out everything by going to Big Oak dot org.
Coming up to this hour, CEO Brody Croyle will visit
with us We'll always have fun. We have a blast
for Brody that's coming up here at.
Speaker 2 (39:16):
The toward the bottom of this hour, and we'll chat
with him throughout the show here or there and kind
of update you on some things that are going on
here and just enjoy the visit. Will we try unscreen
phone calls on location and put Davy Allen, our producer
back at Master Control in the handle likely also super Time,
(39:37):
the engineer overseeing operations and keeping us updated.
Speaker 3 (39:40):
We do have YouTube today even though it's on location.
Speaker 1 (39:44):
Adler has got that set up and.
Speaker 2 (39:48):
We thank you all for being involved as well as
you can watch today. So Speedy, Greg and Adler all here.
We've covered a lot of some of it you know,
we're supposed to hear some of not because you know,
coming in out of the breaks here is a little
bit different when we're on location. But and we've we've
talked to texta nation and a lot of you made
(40:09):
the accurate point that they'd like to thank us for
teaching them how to hack on people and then telling
them to stop doing it, right uh, and and encouraging
them to have So that's a fair point.
Speaker 1 (40:20):
It's valid. Yeah, uh, But just just you know some
of that. You know, it's one of those things you
can just go, well, I'll try to tell yeah, move on.
Speaker 3 (40:27):
That was it.
Speaker 2 (40:28):
And Joy and Speedy was second hand embarrassment. It bothers
him so much he may just turn it off.
Speaker 1 (40:33):
Yeah. Yeah, he's just gonna be the big Oak ranch. Uh.
We almost lost homepage, Yes we did. Yeah, Yeah, you
know what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna be able to
get up and enjoy that segment and listen to what
brought Brody Brody cruel has to say versus focusing on
that worried to death.
Speaker 2 (40:50):
So so this is and and uh so good to
have everybody here with us, no matter what the situation.
Wednesday Bible Study archive is available to no Strange Encounters,
a new one this weekend. There's twenty episodes you can enjoy.
And uh and don't forget tonight that we do have
a big deal going up in Henderson, Tennessee, Tony Cooper
(41:11):
and Scott Dawson tonight at William's Auditorium, a big Man
Church gathering. So if you're in that area, Uh, look
at the Manchurch dot com under events to get all
the details and be with them tonight we enjoin us
in praying over that being another powerful gathering like like
the one we had last year there in Henderson, Tennessee.
(41:31):
Ed Jones and the gang they're really really good after it.
They have they're an incredible story. I do want to
talk to you about. You know that we've talked a
little bit even today, that that, you know what, we
can be a little rough around the edges. It's it's
difficult to be in our group. Adam was talking about
it a minute ago. He won't even come on the
fourth headphone headphone Mike because he knows if he does
(41:53):
would begin to be ridiculed. And it can be difficult.
I mean, it can be hard. And I think one
of the examples I noticed, you know, and we can
be competitive. We can be competitive Greg apparently not in
top golf.
Speaker 3 (42:08):
No, evidently not.
Speaker 2 (42:09):
But tell me you don't you know how sometimes you
examine yourself and you're kind of like I wonder. So
I had lunch yesterday after the Bible stayed late lunch
with Rich Wingo. Oh so oh, Rich Rich Wingo, you
know a legend. You know, one of my best friends
in the world. Uh been such a good friend. Uh
(42:32):
you know we we cut up. I mean, it's a
little rough this one yesterday he looked at me and
was kind of like, you know, he tilted his head.
Speaker 1 (42:39):
He screamed too soon. He did all this so so rich.
He has some some cardiac issues.
Speaker 3 (42:47):
You know, are you supposed to be telling that?
Speaker 1 (42:49):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (42:49):
I mean, and I'm more again. He does great with him.
I mean, every time he feels a little rough, he
goes and gets another stint and he's back. He's not
a whiner about it anything like that. And and and
so he has just recently in the in the last week,
had stint number eight. And and so we were sitting
(43:09):
down for lunch, and you know, you and I know
that normal people, I think normal people would would sit
down and your friend would say, man, you feeling okay?
Speaker 1 (43:19):
You're doing all right? You know, I bet that was scary.
You know, you've been through this before. I know.
Speaker 2 (43:24):
But and you know what I did. We sitting down.
He goes, hey, man, I hadn't seen you know. I said, yeah,
what I said, by the way, before we get started,
I just want to.
Speaker 3 (43:30):
Say zero to eight.
Speaker 2 (43:33):
And he said what I said, zero stants here eight
over there? Oh wow, I said I'm winning by like
eight and uh and and he looked and he goes
a stint, competit what And I said, I'm just telling you.
I said, I still days removed. Yeah, And he was like,
what is wrong this day? He goes, you know what?
(43:54):
And I said, well, I'm just saying. I mean I
know that, you know, I mean, you're doing great or whatever,
and well, trying to see who's doing a little bit better.
But I'm just gonna tell you that. I mean, you're wow,
another one and uh, that's that was your first thing?
Speaker 1 (44:07):
That the first thing? Yeah, yeah, and uh and and
you know, I said, now you can look at it.
Speaker 3 (44:12):
You're leading.
Speaker 1 (44:13):
But I think in this case the zero was kind
of like golf, the lower score wins. Uh yeah, point
that is yeah, point. And of course he said, of
course you probably should have never said that, you know,
like that, a normal person would say this. He said,
you know, you're one cardiac event away of that zero
doesn't meanything if you don't make it. At least I've
made it eight times. And I thought, wow, that's uh
(44:34):
And then I realized, this is why would we have
this conversation. Why would be right? But but there's there's
a certain competitive spirit there. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (44:41):
And uh so so we we we we had a
good a good lunch.
Speaker 1 (44:47):
It was it was it was once we got past that.
Speaker 2 (44:50):
Uh and and and talked about the fact that hunting
season is just around the corner.
Speaker 1 (44:54):
Yeah, it's here. He fired up about it this year.
Speaker 3 (44:58):
Yeah, yeah, he's really fired up.
Speaker 2 (45:00):
And uh so, uh you know, and and I was
probably a little quick to the fact that he's you know,
just just kind of got back.
Speaker 1 (45:07):
To work for me to go, Now, when am I?
When am I coming down? Hunt? Plus yeah, already talking
about it.
Speaker 2 (45:12):
Yeah, and uh annual hunt he said, uh, he said,
I noticed you pivoted off.
Speaker 1 (45:16):
How am I doing too? When we When are you hunt?
And you know at my place? A little quick, probably
quicker than you shouldn't been as long as we've been friends.
And I said, really after the eighth stint, what.
Speaker 3 (45:26):
I mean, we've been through this, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (45:28):
Rick, I'm sorry that you know that you had to
deal with that. Well he you know, you know, I
told him, I said, I'm glad we got to work
out for hunting. Yeah, well you remember one here at
least that's done, Yes, that is Yeah, so uh so anyway,
y'all realize that we're we're getting really close. And I
know that people are bowl hunting other other states are
already out there, but we're getting really close. Yeah, we are.
(45:49):
And where we live. Do y'all remember when we had
kids young enough to be to participate in the youth hunts? Yeah,
that's this weekend. If you're you know Rick staging Adler, Uh,
by the way, that's good. But wait if he had
a little less beard, we tried. But but but look,
I've been seeing this. Have y'all seen this? People sent
me this many times. It's on text Nation here from Campbellsville, Kentucky.
(46:14):
That's me, uh doing some handy work. And I'm wearing
the same with the same flannel today that I had
on there. I had my sleeves rolled up there. That's
good Rick, But a lot.
Speaker 2 (46:22):
Of people have sent me there's this guy being handy
and he looks like you, and and they're saying, Rick,
is this year in that picture?
Speaker 1 (46:28):
He like you? When you saw that, You're like, look
at Rick, go, I mean that that what am I?
What am I doing? Just like what am I building?
I'm not sure what I'm doing?
Speaker 2 (46:39):
That It looks like some kind am I laying out
to the flooring, the plan type of flooring. Yeah, it
looks like I'm really getting after it, so I don't
really know what I'm doing there.
Speaker 1 (46:49):
Yeah, but now joining in, I'm not sure.
Speaker 5 (46:52):
That looks like he might be doing some kind of
collage more like crafts and U's.
Speaker 4 (47:00):
Kind of later he's headed to his men's choir practice.
Speaker 3 (47:04):
The rest of the tone range.
Speaker 1 (47:06):
You're dead?
Speaker 3 (47:07):
Did you say that?
Speaker 5 (47:08):
No, that's men's choir. I was like, like men's choir,
like not in church, you know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (47:13):
Okay? Uh huh, oh well what the tone range?
Speaker 1 (47:17):
Wow? Clearly really that guy? Yeah, clearly that guy book
the finals is not a long sleeve. When is that
one that hurt?
Speaker 3 (47:24):
Okay? Is he is?
Speaker 1 (47:25):
He laying down that stuff you put underneath hardwood?
Speaker 3 (47:29):
Is building a program?
Speaker 1 (47:30):
I thought it was arts and crafts?
Speaker 3 (47:31):
He does?
Speaker 1 (47:31):
Look it does? It looks like some type of subflooring
that he's laid down some type of something. Yeah, guy,
he has glasses that you he has glasses on, great
hair and the might be smoking beard.
Speaker 3 (47:41):
That mean he looks like.
Speaker 5 (47:42):
Me family handyman there he goes. I mean that's that's funny.
It's on a handyman ad and it looks like you
and you claim to be handy claim claim claim claim
claim plain, yeah, claim claim.
Speaker 1 (47:58):
How much more examples do I have to give? Playing? Uh?
All right? Uh? Oh, By the way, I do have
some music, uh information to share share with y'all at
some point today since I know a lot about youth.
Yeah I do, if I don't even know about it.
Speaker 7 (48:13):

not talking about you know, you know, when you're when
you're you know, the over the.
Speaker 2 (49:00):
Counter stuff, which which I mean, Hey, these things serve
a purpose. They're they're just not designed to be used
every day.
Speaker 1 (49:07):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (49:08):
But with this you can now look at Tracy Hey,
Tracy email from Knoxville, Tennessee. She writes, My husband is
a diabetic has suffered with neuropathy in his feet for years.
Early this year, he broke his leg right below the
ankle out due to the diabetes. He shouldn't take I
be profen back to what I said a minuteicom, but
(49:30):
his foot kept swelling. I decided to buy him relief
Factor because I ran out of the other options.
Speaker 1 (49:35):
It worked.
Speaker 2 (49:37):
The swelling started going away, and as he continued to
continued to use it, he realized that his neuropathy was
no longer bothering him at all anymore, eating none. I
don't have you know the scientific proof, but I will
testify that the only thing we added to his life
uh for for the issue to disappear after two months
(50:00):
relief Factor. So thank you, guys uh at reliefactor dot
com get a three week supply for nineteen ninety five
or use our link at Rick burgesshow dot com. And
I hope that it will work for you like it
has for Tracy's husband.
Speaker 1 (50:14):
That's a biggie right there. It is.
Speaker 3 (50:16):
Yeah, is that how you said neuropathy?
Speaker 1 (50:19):
My neuropathy is going nuts.
Speaker 3 (50:21):
Neuropathy.
Speaker 4 (50:23):
I don't know what neuropathy is, but I think that's
how you say.
Speaker 1 (50:26):
Yeah, I don't know what it is. If you have that,
that's not good. Yeah, it's not good. Be course, early
factor solved it. Maybe it's one of them words that
works either way. Probably not, but I appreciate that. And
you know you're passionately wrong.
Speaker 3 (50:41):
That's what I love. Oh no, it's fine.
Speaker 2 (50:42):
Let me talk about if you aren't be beat up
by guy. I can't say neopathy with a beard. Yeah,
with the beer that is somewhat hand. How about a
text nation with a good one. Rick Burgess is the
only person that praised with NFL assassins and fights air supply. Yeah,
that's kind of look y'all just said you'll want you
about air supply.
Speaker 1 (51:03):
They're tougher than they There was a mean couple of guys.
They looked like this nice love song. I've never seen
a soft rock band be that mean.
Speaker 3 (51:10):
They were brutal.
Speaker 1 (51:13):
Yeah. I think it's only fitting that we're at big
old ranch today on location and its World Kindness Day. Yeah,
let's be kind. Okay, let's we're not gonna let's try.
We're not even kind to each other. We're on a
ranch full of kind people. Uh, and so let's let's
at least try to play the part to Yeah, yeah,
that's it's the ranch cats that stays outside. I don't know.
(51:35):
I forgot Michael, Michael, what's let me ask my Michael
is in charge of I t and been a rock start.
What's the cat's name? I forgot Boots. Boots, Boots is
the cat's name. And Bardy call is in the house
Brody for some reason. All right, so we have a
(51:58):
hard to say. It's really not broidy. That's what it is,
which means something wrong. Do you notice it when you
say twice you hold up three?
Speaker 3 (52:11):
Neuropathy?
Speaker 1 (52:12):
You say, you say you said it twice. You're making
fun of me, and you're holding up three while saying twice,
trying to I can say, he said, and neuropathy. I'm
gonna make Tom Scott nervous, our chief engineer. I'm gonna
try to play something and it might not work. So
I might not.
Speaker 3 (52:29):
I don't know, all.
Speaker 1 (52:30):
Right what it is here now, I'm not gonna work. Okay,
that's what it's. Okay, it was working earlier.
Speaker 3 (52:37):
I saw you playing with that.
Speaker 1 (52:38):
Earlier thought what if you just put your mic speakers
and I could do that. I need to turn up
for them to what's no, you're good, you're good. It's
not you, but it's that dirty cord. Well it's I
was going to try to hard line my laptop in,
but then hard line me. You can't. You know what
(53:03):
I'm gonna I'm gonna advise you. Yeah, I'm gonna advise
you right now. You gotta find you free. Okay, Yeah,
so I'm gonna do this here. Hold on, hold on,
let's just do this right. This is gonna look good
to frozen up. All right, we're not working. Uh, alright,
so he's just bragged. Oh I think I know why.
I think I know why it's working. I really do.
(53:24):
Straight up. I got to stop the mirroring. Uh, and
to play it.
Speaker 3 (53:28):
Oh you gotta, there goes text station.
Speaker 1 (53:29):
They're gone, Yeah, let's see if this works here. I
don't know. Does this work here? Let's see if it's
this goes in. If not, then we'll just stop. All right,
let's not Why would here we go? Here we go?
You can't do it that way.
Speaker 4 (53:49):
He looks like he's making out with his computer.
Speaker 1 (53:53):
He's not doing any good. You hear that? Bag night, Yeah,
hundreds of bagpipers.
Speaker 3 (54:02):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 1 (54:04):
Uh. They broke a world record in Australia yesterday when
they gathered to perform a C. D C's It's a
long Way to the Top if you want, I rock
and rae and I was trying to play part of
their performance because it was pretty cool. It was three
hundred and seventy four blowing the bags. The oldest performer
(54:25):
was it was ninety eight years old. He was can
you believe can you imagine having enough air in your
lungs to blow the bag of a bagpiper? Uh? I
think we met.
Speaker 5 (54:45):
We mean, you just move on them loudy, But what
kind of record?
Speaker 1 (54:52):
It's not blow your into the bag? Bad? Play it
so bad? I don't know how many bag papers. It
was three hundred and record, three hundred and seventy four. Uh.
(55:15):
The previous record was three thirty three in Bulgaria back
in twenty twelve.
Speaker 3 (55:22):
I think we covered that.
Speaker 1 (55:23):
Apparently over three hundred neuroad Okay, oh gosh, a mighty loss.
It is worth it. I know you're tin't gonna mess
up YouTube playing.
Speaker 10 (55:36):
No, it won't work, it's done. Wait now, we'ren't crazy
that it's so crazy? Please, I really won't go half
way out, halfway story. This story, yeah, I mean story
is a lot.
Speaker 5 (55:48):
Of back go halfway in and then go halfway oush
speedy halfway in. Yeah, well halfway in and half half
in and then half half out. I keep doing it
and working. Bro all right, don't worry about it.
Speaker 1 (56:02):
So this second, nobody has any idea what we're good.
I just saw Brodie Crow walk back outside get his
card and league.
Speaker 3 (56:10):
Yeah there goes.
Speaker 1 (56:11):
Yeah, I wouldn't be on the show all ever. Blowing bagpipe, yeah,
I tried one time. How does it work? I tried
one time, and I couldn't do it, because really you're
you're kind of when you're blowing out, you're actually doing
the opposite.
Speaker 3 (56:23):
You're you feel that, right, and then you pump like this.
Speaker 1 (56:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (56:30):
By the way, it's almost like you're doing the old
fart under the arms.
Speaker 3 (56:34):
So you squeeze it.
Speaker 1 (56:35):
So yeah, yeah, so you got up the bag and
then give it this to come out into the bag, right, yeah, yep,
pump your arm like okay.
Speaker 4 (56:44):
Yeah, it's and it's all the way on or all
the way off.
Speaker 1 (56:46):
You ever notice that you can't just be like so
you've actually you actually had one. I've never played one,
but I've learned about blowing them. Okay, I'd like to
see you bring one. All right, your musical, I don't care.
It's cool.
Speaker 5 (56:59):
If we gotta we gotta, we gotta change the whole atmosphere.
Speaker 1 (57:03):
Brody is right outside. Okay, he's he's coming in. I
think you heard this whole segment. Big old ceo, Brody
Krall coming out. Well, we'll we'll talk to him. Uh
huh uh. And if you want to find out everything
about Big Od, go to Big Oak dot org.
Speaker 3 (57:17):
We'll be right back.
Speaker 7 (57:18):
All right, this is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 1 (57:27):
All right, so we're back, Uh, The Rick Burgess Show
live from Big Oak Ranch.
Speaker 3 (57:32):
Find out everything, but going to Big Oak dot Org.
Speaker 1 (57:36):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (57:36):
You know, sometimes I'm sure he thinks to himself, against
his better judgment, Brody Krall has decided to invite us
here to do the show, and not only invite us here,
but also to actually sit down and.
Speaker 1 (57:50):
Have a chat.
Speaker 2 (57:50):
He's done it back in the Rick and Bubba days.
He's done it on the new show, and he continues
to do it. And uh, and we're grateful for that.
And a lot of you have responded. We were just
discussing that. But uh, Brody Crawl CEO a big oak,
welcome to the Rick Berger Show.
Speaker 1 (58:08):
On for having me. You didn't have to come to
us this time. We came to you.
Speaker 6 (58:12):
You know, I uh, you talk about why do I
keep coming back? And I literally was about to walk
in that door asking myself the exact same things, like
every time I come on this show. Somehow I've become
the punching bag. And I just praise God that there
is not the will of death here.
Speaker 3 (58:34):
We left it at the left it at the studio.
Speaker 1 (58:36):
We have brought it.
Speaker 2 (58:37):
Yeah, yeah, but the you know, I watched you when
when Speedy was attempting to tell us about all these
bagpipes and and I and I told her by I said,
I think I just watched Brodie Crawl walk back out
the door getting his cardinals.
Speaker 1 (58:49):
Yeah, sorry about that last segment. That is on me
first of all.
Speaker 2 (58:55):
And we said this to you when you came in,
and those of you that can are watching us on YouTube,
you can.
Speaker 1 (58:59):
Get to get a feel. But what a beautiful see.
I've been to the Boys Ranch. I've never been here,
and this is absolutely beautiful. I was walking up thinking
I've gone had the opportunity, thankfully to go hunt at
some of the premiere, you know, facilities, And this is
(59:20):
as nice as any place I've ever been. I mean,
and I love the way. I like the style of it.
It is so comfortable. And so how long has this
particular facility been here?
Speaker 6 (59:33):
Well, I call this building that you were looking at
my inheritance, and I don't say that in the most
beautiful way, right, Yeah, Dad. When we made our transition,
and you know, we're kind of going through it, probably
a year year and a half into it, I'm sitting
in my office and I'm like, man, it is freezing,
Like why am I so cold? And I went up
(59:53):
to a window and I literally like pressed the window
because I felt like I could. My finger went the window.
Oh no way, oh boy. And I went to the
next window and I put my finger through that window.
I was like, oh no. So I started just going
in people's office. They're like, what is this Guy's crazy?
And I saw I start pressing windows and they're basically
they had all rotted.
Speaker 3 (01:00:14):
Oh no.
Speaker 6 (01:00:16):
So I called Dad. I'm like, what in the world, man,
you ain't never heard about sealing a window?
Speaker 1 (01:00:21):
Right?
Speaker 6 (01:00:21):
And he goes literally verbatim sounds like a Brodie problem
to me. So you ask about the building, Yeah, that
is that is when it was. It was built probably
twenty five years ago, and so it still looks the
same to a degree. But uh, that's when we kind
of started redoing, kind of refurbishing, kind of making and
(01:00:44):
bringing it up. But when we were doing it with
the architects, they're like, what's your goal? I said, the
goal would be, is that somehow you can make this
large administrative building in gym feel like a home.
Speaker 1 (01:01:00):
Yeah, because if.
Speaker 6 (01:01:02):
You think about when you pull on this place for
the first time, Yes, there's an excellent piece to this
that starts in the outer wall. And if you can't
if you can't have your fences in your ditches picked
up and cleaned up, then you know what, you can't
get anybody to come past that inner wall into your
culture and into your values and insruy. So there is
a place that, man, what you see first impressions matter,
(01:01:23):
and so when you're you're trying to get people to
come say hey, I want to give my life to
this place, or hey I want to join this place,
you know, financially in support or resources or in kind
or whatever it might be. But probably one out every
three times I pull on this place, and this morning
was one of them. It never ceases to amaze me
how beautiful it is. It really is, but it hits me,
(01:01:47):
probably one out every three times, what a kid must
feel like the first time.
Speaker 1 (01:01:51):
They pull into this place.
Speaker 6 (01:01:53):
Yeah, and they don't even know what they're looking at,
but they can pull on here and go something's different. Yeah,
And I don't know what I see, but I like it,
And man, I can have a hope for a different
future because this is unlike anything that I've ever seen.
And a vision is a visual thing. And if it's
the first time that they get to see something different,
(01:02:16):
maybe it's the first step into giving them a different
vision for their life.
Speaker 3 (01:02:19):
So unpack that a little bit.
Speaker 2 (01:02:21):
So I'm out in the audience, and we always assume,
because you know, we've known you and your family and
for so long. But there are people as the show
grows and new people come on board, and now all
these different platforms, you can really go anywhere.
Speaker 1 (01:02:36):
It's unlimited, they're not you're not even limited by terrestrial
radio stations anymore.
Speaker 2 (01:02:41):
You can go anywhere. Yeah, and they hear us at
Big Oak. They hear me giving out the website, they
certainly can go there. We've mentioned a few things you
know that they can be part of. But pretend that
I've never heard this before. What is Big Oak Ranch?
Speaker 3 (01:02:57):
And what do you do?
Speaker 6 (01:02:58):
To understand who we are, you probably need to understand
where we started. And so when my dad was nineteen,
he played football at the University of Alabama for coach
Paul bear Bryant. And in the summer he had a chance.
And you know, anybody's played college football, you understand like
you only have one week every summer, and you know
you're talking about how awesome our staff is and how
(01:03:20):
we have this unreasonably accommodating spirit. It started with my
dad because my dad took that one week off and
he went and worked at a summer camp over in Mississippi,
and he met a little boy from the streets in
New Orleans whose mother was a prostitute. And this little
boy was the banker and the timekeeper for his mom. Literally,
come up, mom, I got the money. The next one's here.
(01:03:41):
And my dad shared with this little boy just how
he could change his life, man, how Jesus could change
his life, and the boy came back the following summer
to the same camp and share with my dad were
for where what he had taught him some before, and
realized he had just been given a gift. And man,
he said, it was better than any sack had, better
than eat crowd he had ever played in front of.
(01:04:02):
And he says he has a chance, he had a
chance to go play NFL. I'm not real sure, and
I'm always questioned, and I still do.
Speaker 5 (01:04:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:04:10):
I mean I've seen him walk, I've seen him run.
But he did have a chance to go play in
the NFL. And he went Coach Brian. He said, Coach Brian,
I want to take the money from pro football and
I want to go to start a home for kids.
And Coach Brian said, don't play unless you're willing to
marry it. He said, tell me more about this this
ranch that you want to go start. And so for
an hour he got to share with him this dream,
(01:04:31):
this vision of what Big Oak Ranch could look like. Said,
he walked out and never looked back. And the August
of nineteen seventy four, Big Oak Ranch started in a
farmhouse with five boys and is now grown into a
boy's ranch with fifteen homes, a girl's ranch thirteen homes.
We have a community six miles down the road, a
(01:04:54):
foster care community that we now have six homes in.
We have a school, We have a college ministry and
ascend that helps our eighteen to twenty two year olds.
We have a fifty two bedroom campus there. We have
a outreach ministry that's helped one hundred and thirty different
children's homes in thirty four different states either get started
or grow or whatever it might be. That last year
(01:05:16):
alone served ten thousand children. But the reality of what
we do is very simple, but it is incredibly difficult
to execute.
Speaker 1 (01:05:26):
And that is what was it still is.
Speaker 6 (01:05:31):
Man, If you put a godly man and woman in
a home and you give them eight kids that don't
share their name, their blood, their past, but they do
share a joint future. If the kid will just accept
it that a small thing repeated is not a small thing,
because eventually small things become big things. And we believe
what a child repeatedly hears or repeatedly sees, they're eventually
(01:05:54):
going to repeat. And so let's give them a life.
Let's live a life worthy of repeating. And the reality
is that, man, we've had almost three thousand children that
have called Big Oak Cranch home over the past fifty
one years.
Speaker 1 (01:06:09):
It's a lot of kids. It is. Every one of.
Speaker 6 (01:06:12):
Those kids had the opportunity to break a cycle when
they came to live with us, and there is a
large majority of them that did. But the reality is
is they change generations when they leave us. That's when
generations behind them begin to change. That's when lineages begin
to go in a different direction. And that is when, truly, man,
(01:06:35):
a life that was riddled with pain and just hurt
can now be a life that says, I'll take what
the enemy intended for bad and I'll radically flip it
on its head for good. All I have to do
is choose that God, you always had a plan a
purpose for my life, and I'm gonna go walk that out.
And man, we just get to be agents of change.
(01:06:56):
We are never the reason for change.
Speaker 2 (01:06:59):
Well, if you want to find out more, you can
go to Big Oak dot org. We're gonna continue to,
you know, drop in little things through throughout the day.
Brody's gonna come back and visit with us more even
as we go forward, and and there's a number of
ways you can come alongside because I know what goes
on and all the things you just heard. They certainly
don't do it for money, but what they do requires money.
Speaker 1 (01:07:21):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:07:21):
And uh, you know, if it's something you want to
consider investing in. You know, I always ask myself the question, uh, when,
with what God has given me, have I invested in
things that matter that have an impact. There's no better
feeling when you can go, yeah, yeah, I have and
and this one.
Speaker 1 (01:07:38):
Is an easy yes.
Speaker 2 (01:07:39):
So big Oak dot org you can find out everything
about that. We'll talk next hour about maybe some of
you that are saying, well, I don't know that I
can do that, but maybe you can do something else
that maybe be the next parents that are needed. And
we'll talk more about that coming up next hour or so.
So hang out and uh and enjoy the day with
(01:08:00):
this buddy. Thank you for the hospitality and the beautiful
facilities and the wonderful food and delicious coffee and uh
and we'll try our best to to do the job
today where everybody looks at you and said, this was
a good idea.
Speaker 6 (01:08:16):
We got We got two more episodes to figure that
one out.
Speaker 3 (01:08:19):
We'll be back more.
Speaker 2 (01:08:20):
The Rick Burgess Show Live from Big Oak Ranch coming
up right after this.
Speaker 7 (01:08:26):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 1 (01:08:46):
All right, we're back, got the Rick Burgess Show, Speedy
Greg Adder live from Big Oak Ranch. What a beautiful facility.
Speaker 2 (01:08:54):
What we're seeing is uh is a wonderful way to
make a living and start your day for you know
when we do the show live. All right, So uh
the text Nation, I notice you baby set them a
little bit during that you did, did you there? It
is Uh, that's okay to say that all of us
(01:09:16):
need speech therapy. That that that we've known that for
many many years. So so anyway, uh, we'll we'll continue
to update you throughout the show. Good to be on
YouTube on location. Editor's got a great signal. Look, we'll
look all that's running smooth. You don't want to mojo that,
but but it's looking good.
Speaker 1 (01:09:36):
Now.
Speaker 2 (01:09:37):
One thing that we we can do right now is
take a look at at our hay Burge action. Uh
that is coming in and some of these are coming
off topics that we have already discussed. So hay Birge,
hay Burge. Sorry, I'm late to the chocolate topic.
Speaker 1 (01:10:00):
Yes, yeah, start up yesterday.
Speaker 2 (01:10:03):
Yeah and additor, this person says eighty five percent is
my range. No, you know that was that's that's that's
what that's what we had with it.
Speaker 1 (01:10:12):
It was around that, maybe a little higher or not much.
Speaker 2 (01:10:14):
They wanted to know, are are we familiar with a
chocolate bar called Dubai, like the place chocolate?
Speaker 1 (01:10:23):
Do you be a I don't want something.
Speaker 2 (01:10:26):
I don't know if you guys heard of it on
first glance, it looks disgusting.
Speaker 1 (01:10:30):
It's a huge.
Speaker 2 (01:10:31):
Chocolate rectangle with greg pistachio feeling, so the brown and
green together looks horrible. Plus they want twenty bucks for
the bar. Twenty bucks.
Speaker 1 (01:10:43):
They ain't a bar twenty bucks. I am not.
Speaker 2 (01:10:47):
I'm not familiar with this or what huh that's in
the middle of it? Yeah, I'm not.
Speaker 1 (01:10:54):
No, what is that?
Speaker 3 (01:10:57):
It's pistachio?
Speaker 2 (01:10:58):
Oh no, that that Yeah, it can't happen, you know,
that's that's one of those things too.
Speaker 3 (01:11:03):
How much twenty six bucks?
Speaker 1 (01:11:04):
Yeah? Yeah, twenty was I say twenty six he said
twenty dollars?
Speaker 2 (01:11:08):
Yeah, but oh my gosh, now that picture over there
goes those of you that can't see it.
Speaker 1 (01:11:14):
It looks like a chocolate bar with like guacamole spilling
out of it. Yeah that doesn't.
Speaker 2 (01:11:20):
Yeah it does. Yeah, but but I don't. I just
don't think so. I don't think I first, are there
too much? Look at that?
Speaker 3 (01:11:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:11:27):
No, thank you?
Speaker 3 (01:11:28):
Right?
Speaker 1 (01:11:29):
Uh so? No, no, yeah, you can just get one
I think in the pack for like nineteen Yeah, now
it goes up again.
Speaker 2 (01:11:37):
I've never tried that. I don't I don't think I could.
Uh So, anyway, you get one hundred for seven hundred
ninety nine dollars, right, so there we go. Yeah, I
don't like any No, I don't want anything to do
with that. I don't think that's gonna help us keep
that in Dubai. So uh and this is not the
(01:11:58):
kind of emails we need here. This is not helpful.
That we're coming up next, this is not helpful. Hey bird,
Hey birds, I'm calling you guys out on something great,
But this is not helpful.
Speaker 3 (01:12:08):
This is not the kind of emails we need. Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:12:11):
For example, he says, I know that y'all have been
giving people a hard time about their names. I mean,
you guys pulled no punches. I mean, do you remember
all the information back in the Rick and Bubba days
and all the bits and still even on the new
show y'all got Anthony Wiener guilty guilty. Yeah, you dedicated
(01:12:31):
several segments over last names like this. However, I am
so disappointed. On Tuesday, November, the twelfth day before yesterday,
you had a lady in the vox seats whose last
name was Booby, and not one word was said about
her name.
Speaker 3 (01:12:49):
I was standing there looking at it.
Speaker 2 (01:12:51):
I was patiently waiting for someone, especially Greg, to say something.
But I was painfully disappointed that it never happened. Let's see,
that's not helpful.
Speaker 1 (01:12:58):
You should be you should be commending. I mean, she
was extremely nicely. She can't help her name's Booby. I
said something, I did say something, did you Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:13:07):
I was like Booby, yeah, did you say that?
Speaker 1 (01:13:10):
I think you do that? Well, I'm not proud of it.
Well you should have been the guy that because I
always asked to make sure that we're pronouncing the last
names right. So Rick didn't have any secret boss, and
you should have seen me asking her for if I'm
saying Booby, right, is it your last name? Booby? Let
me tell you, and let me just tell you.
Speaker 4 (01:13:26):
She was the Booby, so I said, I was like Booby.
Speaker 1 (01:13:30):
Yeah, and she actually sent a follow up. Remember that
now that sounds familiar. She did, she she She sent
a follow up email to talking about how much fun
she had and she was very sweet. Now right right
about right now right well, but again again.
Speaker 2 (01:13:47):
The thing that I loved the most was watching Speedy
try his best try, because she always tries to make
sure that everybody's name is said correctly. Of course, a
lot of times he goes out of his way to
get it right, and then I it wrong.
Speaker 1 (01:14:01):
But you know, you have a you have a tough
job here.
Speaker 2 (01:14:04):
It must be because most people like to see the
fruit of their work pay off, and so many times
yours doesn't you know it?
Speaker 1 (01:14:10):
And efforts there and I just got to control what
I can control.
Speaker 2 (01:14:13):
When Speedy was saying, I just wanna be sure I
have this right the first time, he looked at her
and said, now your left thing is booby right, yeah,
and I and of course I.
Speaker 1 (01:14:23):
But I was thinking, if I'm gonna embarrass myself, at
least just only do it here to the room, right,
not not live.
Speaker 3 (01:14:29):
Yeah, but you did across the room.
Speaker 1 (01:14:31):
I did?
Speaker 3 (01:14:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:14:33):
How was just rooting for her in Burgess Paul battle,
That's all I was doing.
Speaker 1 (01:14:37):
And I saw your little face when you said it. Yeah,
I saw it. I said, is it Booby? Boo bah Booby?
It was Booby? Is it Booby or is it boopy?
Speaker 2 (01:14:47):
And here's and here's why the emailer has a point.
I'm literally looking down.
Speaker 1 (01:14:50):
It it boom. Sometimes I look like real busy. I'll
be out looking at stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:14:54):
I gotta be sure because I have a lot of
things I have to work in during the show, and
people get really upset if I don't think that goofy
got And I'm sitting here doing this and I hear
Speedy going, is it Booby? But I'm literally doing this
greg Oh, she goes, No.
Speaker 1 (01:15:05):
It's Booby. I went, I put down what I was
looking at, and I was like, what, I hear that right?
Because I had to say it twice struggle, and then
Speedy goes, you talk about Booby, Yes, Booby? What about Okay?
Booby called her to the mic. Yeah, well, I mean
come on up, Booby. Yeah, she played, and and Burgess
she almost.
Speaker 5 (01:15:24):
And maybe it's like the bird, you know, isn't that
a bird? Maybe the family is named after the bird
because we've forgotten that it's an actual like family lineage
of people that I'm.
Speaker 3 (01:15:32):
Making fun of. We forgot that we did.
Speaker 1 (01:15:35):
What if you visit the forget about the segments is
a lot.
Speaker 2 (01:15:39):
We forget about people's lives. We forget about their real
human beings. You even tried to teach us for years.
You would cry, I'm I'm.
Speaker 1 (01:15:45):
Real, I'm a real person. Yeah, she came from a
long line of boobies, so I mean they got family
goes back centries.
Speaker 2 (01:15:52):
You see what I'm talking about. This is this is
why this emailer to have a booby reading. There to
be a shame that dude, I can imagine what the
print is. Did you hear about the one the husband
and wife for together? A look at pair of bbies?
Speaker 3 (01:16:10):
Right, got that's a good look.
Speaker 1 (01:16:12):
By the way, I just want to say one segment
removed from talking about how the Lord's blessed his place.
I mean it was just a minute ago. I mean
it was like it was a brick. Let me see
what's happening right now? Right He's normally we got that
set of I don't know what you're gonna do. You
might have to jump on you might with a neked
cow always at that fast, and we were like, do
we location identical.
Speaker 5 (01:16:38):
Paternal I see that now actually slightly different, never likely different.
Speaker 1 (01:16:42):
See that he's not in his room the studio.
Speaker 3 (01:16:46):
It's going crazy to get backs like he's.
Speaker 1 (01:16:48):
On the field trip. It's like a field day. Sorry action,
you got a speed and take them the way home
back on the booby drive. You ever been to that bar?
Speaker 8 (01:17:02):
No Purchase show, Listen up, No Lisa.
Speaker 1 (01:17:24):
Gotta find.
Speaker 7 (01:17:29):
The voice of Lisa in an Unreasonable world. The Rick
Purchase Show.
Speaker 2 (01:17:35):
That's us Baby on location today, Big Oak Ranch. Find
everything you could possibly need to know. That's a Big
Oak dot Org. Brody Croyle coming up this hour. We'll
chat with him later. Uh the CEO here. If you
missed it, we can chat with him earlier in the program.
Speaker 1 (01:17:52):
Remember the daily archive available on the YouTube channel and
on our podcast channel.
Speaker 3 (01:17:57):
Catch any parts you missed on your own on the time.
Speaker 1 (01:18:03):
As we start the eye where I just got a
text from super Time the engineer. He said, ask Greg
if he can just take his headphones and throw them
across the table that uh except before before figuring them up?
Uh so, Uh no, it's these are very loud, they
are you go to pick them up? Well, we've been distracted.
Speaker 2 (01:18:24):
Now they keep bringing more and more food out here,
and and I had I will say that I was
a person that had to warm up to the scone.
You know, I'm we're sudden, there's the scone is not
really our thing. And they've had the cinnamon rolls out
here and all that. Of course Greg and Speedy have
been all over those. But I'll be honest with you.
(01:18:45):
I grew to love a scone. And when I saw
the scone show up and a croissant, I was in Julian,
bring us gone. And I know, and I like a scone.
I mean, I don't mind say it.
Speaker 1 (01:18:56):
I do too.
Speaker 2 (01:18:56):
I don't like saying I don't like it being called
a stone. I started with the sound. I started with
the fruit bowl, trying to do better. Yeah, I thought
I could make it.
Speaker 3 (01:19:05):
Uh, and then I'll keep going.
Speaker 2 (01:19:06):
And they just kept bringing things and then finally the
croissants and scone showed up.
Speaker 3 (01:19:10):
It was too much for me.
Speaker 1 (01:19:11):
I feel obligated too. If people go to the trouble
to bring it you, indeed, it is good. They have
a microwave here. I don't know speed. He don't be
like that. No, I'm just saying, if so, I want
to heat it up for eighteen seconds, right, yes, Uh
so we are on location if you if you missed,
as I mentioned, go back and catch any always a
new element when we're on location.
Speaker 2 (01:19:30):
One thing that we noticed coming out of the break.
And I still can't believe this show has been successful.
I don't know if the latest one is as successful.
Speaker 1 (01:19:39):
You know, if I was sitting at a table just
like the one we're sitting behind right now, and we
were all discussing great ideas, and somebody said, I've got
an idea. I think we can build an audience and
we can sell advertising on the show that features old
people dating. I would I just wouldn't. I just wouldn't have.
I wouldn't have bought in. I would have said that
it's a dumb ideas. They might have another one. I
would have thought that first one they'd be one and done.
Speaker 2 (01:20:00):
Yeah, but the Golden Bachelor apparently not only had they season,
it's now ending a second one.
Speaker 3 (01:20:07):
Adler, this was normally your area. I mean you don't
have to.
Speaker 2 (01:20:09):
I mean you you just said that you and Aaron
have not watched this one, right, y'all are out on
this one. Would not watch it? I thought the x
NFL player might Brough might have brought you in.
Speaker 5 (01:20:19):
You know, I didn't jump on it this time, but really,
so you had the very first Golden Bachelor.
Speaker 4 (01:20:24):
You had also a Golden bachelorette.
Speaker 1 (01:20:26):
Got about that. I forgot about it. They've done.
Speaker 3 (01:20:29):
I forgot about that.
Speaker 4 (01:20:30):
Yeah, it's surprising I jumped on that first season.
Speaker 1 (01:20:34):
You just I couldn't look away.
Speaker 3 (01:20:36):
I did too.
Speaker 1 (01:20:37):
I mean it was you couldn't look at this one.
I saw the episode when they all arrive and they
get out and they try to be silly. Yes, Speedy
couldn't watch it.
Speaker 3 (01:20:46):
Well I could.
Speaker 2 (01:20:47):
The thing that I think has been so hard on
us is realizing, not so much you Adler, but on
the rest of us, when we realize these people are
our age, and oh, yeah, that's that's that's yeah. I go,
there's a tough piel right there, and then they give
their age and I'm going, so they're my age, okay, right,
But you know he stuck his foot in his mouth
(01:21:09):
and did an interview before they started and claimed he
didn't want nobody over six.
Speaker 1 (01:21:13):
Well, remember what, every one of them's over sixty. I
think yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:21:16):
Spoiler alert, Speedy says he knows right, there's a spoiler
alert if anyone cares about the Golden Bachelor. I mean,
there is a spoiler alert.
Speaker 1 (01:21:26):
Well, it says here maybe this is a little old
to going about to season two finale that aired Wednesday,
November twelveth Okay, so that's last night. Yeah, okay, so
it's not a spoiler alert. I guess I know. It
doesn't make sense anybody spoil if we haven't seen it.
I thought that's what you were saying.
Speaker 2 (01:21:41):
No, no, yeah, he thought, yeah, early people they watch it,
watch it on the wrong time. Yeah, so if you
haven't seen it, to your point at it, I think
it still works. If you haven't seen it, this would
be a spoiler alert.
Speaker 1 (01:21:53):
Yeah, but it's already aired, so we can't. That's on you.
Yeah right right, so he it looks like last night.
This is what happened here, Rick right there?
Speaker 2 (01:22:02):
So mel Owens, he chose sixty two, Greg Peg Munson,
Oh peg, Greg, he chose a peg.
Speaker 1 (01:22:10):
In her sixties. You're right, Peggy, No no surprise here,
Gregor retired firefighter. Yeah, no, y'all, she's the one. I
would play the audio, but I can't get it. They
got out of the limo dressed the bomb. You know,
the bomb sleeped at the bomb text when she's talking, Greg, yep,
shet out.
Speaker 3 (01:22:27):
Of the limo with that on, and there was a
bomb out there.
Speaker 1 (01:22:31):
Wait a minute, I think we played that on the show.
I think we did very uncomfortable moment. So we Greg,
he said, she's the bomb. Greg, okay, speaking of bombomb dig.
I haven't watched any of this, but I see Peg,
does she violate the I don't have the E on it.
She's not, okay, So pegs are not always have the
(01:22:54):
but Peggy's usually are. So there she is okay, okay, okay, okay, Peg, Wait,
what's wrong? So we if we if we shorted to
Peg okay and that bomb that I wish you'd find
her in that bomb. But Greg, you make a good
point because Steely Dan wrote a song Peg they did.
You're right, Peg, I'm not. I can't see if my
(01:23:15):
eyes are all Balerry okay, Oh no, I'm sorry. Careful
googling stuff, buddy, You're just googling. It's just yeah, but
is it? I mean, yeah, there you go, Okay, there
she is all right, okay.
Speaker 5 (01:23:29):
Okay, And what what what team did he play for?
Speaker 3 (01:23:32):
Rams?
Speaker 1 (01:23:33):
And that her there, that's her.
Speaker 3 (01:23:36):
That's her, and that's their bomb suit.
Speaker 1 (01:23:38):
Okay, what did you say her bomb She goes in
when people that's what she used to do for Remember
that she probably worked in the front of her clocker
kind of thing.
Speaker 3 (01:23:48):
Yes, she probably worked in the front office. I can
actually go she.
Speaker 1 (01:23:51):
Probably washed dishes for the actual bomb probably.
Speaker 3 (01:23:54):
Okay, she ironed the bomb suit.
Speaker 1 (01:23:56):
You know what I've noticed today and has decided to
come to the show. And okay, and he's almost like
Greg feed Yeah, it's just like he just continues, he's
got Ricky's out of that room. I know it. You
let you out of that booth, and you know what,
you can't handle the freedom when I'm not on camera.
Speaker 5 (01:24:12):
It's like, I feel like I'm not the one saying it,
even though I am, and we are broadcasting.
Speaker 1 (01:24:18):
We forget, but you're back off camera. So now you're
back to that feeling. Yeah, speaking of BOMs. You used
the ball all right, So there we go.
Speaker 2 (01:24:25):
By the way, the fact that she sees she too,
that makes that weird. Sorry, but anyway, you know, it's
just kind of a teacher student thing.
Speaker 1 (01:24:31):
My wife is a teacher. So did you you brought
my pantsil okay.
Speaker 3 (01:24:38):
Okay, just going right on.
Speaker 1 (01:24:40):
He's completely out of control, all right, So so so
let me go to this. You got your r okay now,
all right for punishment, not for anything.
Speaker 3 (01:24:49):
Trust me.
Speaker 1 (01:24:50):
Just stop. You're just running it. You know you know
what you're doing. You're playing with mattresses. We're at JH. Ranch.
I need to be cool now, We're not what did
you just call it? We're a big oak branch, I said,
J Trance, California. That is I went there as a kid.
Speaker 4 (01:25:03):
I'm sorry I went there as a kid.
Speaker 1 (01:25:05):
I'm sorry. A big miss ranch is not big o' brand,
just a big old brand.
Speaker 2 (01:25:09):
Yeah, no, j A tranch. People's parents take them there. Here,
here are these people have kids. But anyway, that's a
big It's almost like a one. Ay it is so no,
I want something to write on now. I wanted what
I wanted to say to you. Did you see did
you see.
Speaker 1 (01:25:26):
Like two goldens the Bachelor and Bachelorette? And then you bailed? No?
I bailed after this the first one.
Speaker 3 (01:25:32):
First one.
Speaker 4 (01:25:33):
What was that guy's name, Gary, Gary, Jerry something?
Speaker 1 (01:25:36):
What if it was actually Gary? If it was Gary,
I mean, tell you something. Peg don't look too bad.
Speaker 5 (01:25:44):
Hey, Gary had that thing when people talk to you,
when you talk to him, he would move his mouth.
Speaker 1 (01:25:51):
Not that. What about people? I call that the venture?
Of course, I know it's uncontrollable. What do they do
when you call yourself doing it? No to me, But
you're telling us and they're anticipating, they're going, they're bowling
what you're saying to them, Like, what are you doing?
I've seen what's got those? And then you got those
that finish your word for you? Yeah today, Yeah, they
(01:26:13):
go ahead and finish where you're going. Sentence finisher. I
find the sentence finisher to be the most frustrated. Absolutely,
that's I'll get there if you just buddy, that's a
laugh ender, laughing, you know you know what I talking about? Yeah,
do you realize how hey man, you having a good day.
I'm pretty impatient? Hey, y'all shows down to great? This
is the laugh ender. How about I am. I'm as
(01:26:33):
impatient as it gets. Okay, and you're trying to hurt them.
But do you realize how impatient you are? If you
finished people? Since you know what they're saying to you,
what they're saying to you. I wish you'd heard talking
with it. You're boring me, You're boring me. It's trying
to do you're doing it.
Speaker 2 (01:26:50):
Okay, all right, all right if you don't stop laughing. Hey, god, alright,
what about my little kids repeat everythings? Say they're trying
to aggravate you. Oh yeah, and they repeat it.
Speaker 1 (01:27:02):
Yeah, all right, believe in the break, I'm gonna sniff
Adler's coffee. I'm gonna step I have a collecuse. There's
Grandaddy's cough serpic and I was like rubbing alcohol.
Speaker 7 (01:27:10):
Alcohol is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (01:27:23):
All right, we're back live from a big old ranch.
Speaker 2 (01:27:26):
Brody Krall joining us. Next segment, we'll chat with him. Uh,
thank you all who are participating today. Great that every
platform is rolling today live in archive, so that's cool.
Uh So let me let me take you to tate
lean dot com. Now this was really cool because in
(01:27:47):
the box seats in the last ten days, we actually
had somebody that that told us they were doing tate
Lean and they said, hey, I've lost fifty pounds and
and that's great.
Speaker 3 (01:28:00):
You know, if you if you've been through weight cycling. Uh,
and weight.
Speaker 2 (01:28:04):
Cycling is pretty much what it says it means you're you,
you put weight on, you take weight off, and you
do a fad diet, it comes off. Fad diets work.
The only problem is you can't live that way, which
is kind of what they're hoping because then when you
put the weight back on, you go back and pay
them again to do it again.
Speaker 1 (01:28:21):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:28:21):
But what we're talking about now is we're talking about
a way to change.
Speaker 3 (01:28:25):
The way that you live, you know.
Speaker 2 (01:28:28):
And and so this is all natural. Uh and and
yes they'll help you with your appetite, but they'll do
that naturally. Yes they'll help you have a healthy blood sugar,
but it will be naturally. Uh And and then you think, well,
what about energy?
Speaker 1 (01:28:41):
You know?
Speaker 2 (01:28:41):
And look, if you ever had anybody that watch out
on these get hyped up on these, uh you know,
the speed stuff and all that.
Speaker 1 (01:28:47):
What it does is it it gets your body to
burn fat for energy. So why don't you go to
take Lian dot com. Take Lien dot com. It's not
a g LP shot.
Speaker 2 (01:28:57):
Those can be crazy expensive and you may have a
concern about it, or that's just not something you want
to do.
Speaker 3 (01:29:01):
This may be the better option for you.
Speaker 2 (01:29:04):
So twenty percent off twenty percent off it Takelan dot com.
This is from brick Caps Nutrition. Same people brought us
a field of greens. Takelan dot com with the code
big Vox big box and you get twenty percent off.
And I said the link there too at Rick Burgess
Show dot com. So it looks like that the government
shutdown is ending. Trump has now signed the bill ending
(01:29:28):
the longest government shutdown in US history. So and the
reason why this was in my opinion, that's all this
is is my opinion, which doesn't mean much. But in
my opinion, I think I would probably get some vibe
on agreement here. I think the reason why it's the
longest government shut down is because the left is so
(01:29:48):
accustomed to scaring the right into doing what they want,
but they were dealing with someone they've never dealt with before,
and you were gonna you were not gonna scare Trump
into do it right, and he wasn't gonna compromise, and
we're gonna give them what they wanted. Most of the
Republicans in the past would have. They would have caved
on the bad pr they were bringing to rest into
people's lives. I'm sorry that some of you did have
(01:30:10):
that happen in your life. But Trump was not going
to give the left what they wanted when they tried to.
Speaker 1 (01:30:15):
Pull the we're all with you in March. We think
this is a fair clean bill. Oh by the way,
when we start getting closer to the elections, some of
our elections, we're going to pull a fast one on
you and now not like it and keep you from
getting to the sixty votes needed. So anyway, when it
came to the stair down, Trump won. Yeah, and so
(01:30:37):
this is the bill that everybody already agreed to in March. Anyway.
Speaker 2 (01:30:39):
Yeah, so so it looks like that the the the
government shutdown is done now.
Speaker 1 (01:30:46):
Yeah. So so Trump did sign it, the House passed it,
the Senate passed it. There we go, and the left
in disarray. You got, you know, the AOC bunch, the
young progressive far left bunch that the Shumer days are over.
Uh so you have the old guard the new guard,
which and the new guard is the extreme left. The
surprise continues though on Fetterman. Yeah, it's unbelievable. Well, who
(01:31:10):
is he? They've body swapped him or something.
Speaker 5 (01:31:12):
I know he changed his brain out when they that
whole stroke was just so they could change his brains out.
Speaker 1 (01:31:18):
He may be right, well, but seriously, it's unbelievable. Yeah,
he turned well, And I mean, I know, the joke
has already been used, so you're still dressing good.
Speaker 2 (01:31:27):
But yeah, he's still dressing great. But the joke is
still out there and it still works. The more he
seems to gather his faculties, the farther right.
Speaker 3 (01:31:34):
He goes the true Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:31:36):
I mean he's not having to speak on the laptop
no more, right, Yeah, yeah, so you know, he may
still be using a translating device. I can't remember where
he couldn't look at the what was it? Yeah? Yeah, No,
you're right, he had to Uh, he had to Uh
when he hearuldn't process what you were saying. So we
had to read on a screen. Yeah, and when he
did he could. Yeah I got news while wearing a hoodie. Yeah,
(01:31:58):
you can't process what they're saying. That's that was my
whole life in college. I know, I agree one hundred percent.
You should have one. Do you remember?
Speaker 3 (01:32:06):
You remember?
Speaker 2 (01:32:06):
Just you know, because we kind of found our way
through school and and and you find your way through
high school.
Speaker 1 (01:32:15):
You don't do great, but you find your way through
it with very little. You did good enough? Yeah, you
did good enough, you know, drove, which is probably a
terrible attitude. It's the wrong attitude, absolutely, But I do
wish i'd try to. But you know what else, I
don't want to.
Speaker 2 (01:32:26):
I don't want to be a person who had a
terror grig, who had poor effort in school and a liar.
Speaker 1 (01:32:30):
That's true, but that's good. But but I've never felt
as loss as I felt in college. Oh, I mean,
I can remember it was a economics class. Now picture me.
Speaker 2 (01:32:42):
First of all, I'm in an economics class, seats on
a T shirt, yeah right, and don't don't look sharp,
and don't miss this. It's the lecture room. Take note
where there's over one hundred people in there.
Speaker 1 (01:32:55):
Yeah okay. And you're sitting in that little lecture.
Speaker 2 (01:32:58):
Chair where it all goes down it slopes down, and
and the professor is there and and and the professor
is teaching economics in a lecture room for for format
to me. And as you said, great sweatpants and a
T shirt that you just found and some cap I
had on, and and and and all of a sudden,
(01:33:18):
I think, well, look man, and you know I'd always
do this.
Speaker 1 (01:33:20):
I mean, I'm gonna, I'm gonna try. I'm gonna try.
Speaker 2 (01:33:22):
I'm gonna I'm gonna take good notes. I'm gonna start trying.
You know this, I need to. I need to.
Speaker 3 (01:33:28):
I need to do this, you know, because Mom had
made it clear that she would like you know, I
wouldn't like Greg.
Speaker 2 (01:33:33):
I didn't get a job with a good company, and
and I had as we've covered, I guess this week,
as many times as we possibly can, I remove the
from ups. But anyway, so mom sweat. Mom's like the
radio thing. I don't know about that. I think mom
picture at the time. I think Mom pictured that I
was going to try to make a living being the
DJ at the Silver Dollar. I mean, I know I'm going.
(01:33:55):
I mean what she talking about. I was going to
the big money. I was a day of radio. Yeah,
you know what I mean. But anyway, I had a
midday talk.
Speaker 1 (01:34:03):
Did that get that? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:34:04):
But she begged me to have something to fault. Please
get a college education, you know, because I kept saying
I don't need one for this job. She's like, you,
you get a college education. So I sit there and
I think, all right, here we go economics lecture format.
It's got some stuff stacked against me. That professor seems
a long way away. Rick, go to the front row, buddy,
(01:34:24):
that's true. I'm setting as high as you can go.
Speaker 7 (01:34:27):
Oh why yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:34:28):
And then all of a sudden she starts talking older,
older lady. Older lady, probably my age now, but it
seemed older to me. In college, low talker, Oh no, monitous,
close your book, monotone.
Speaker 1 (01:34:41):
Low talker. Well, I don't know how much this class cost,
but it was not a good How about your note
she took that day that.
Speaker 3 (01:34:49):
I couldn't hear her?
Speaker 1 (01:34:50):
Uh it was. She didn't add anything lively to it. All.
I can remember her whispering.
Speaker 2 (01:34:55):
Fed, the Fed, It's just you know, the fed, and
then a fed and I was like, I remember looking
at the person next to me, hoping it was some
Asian and saying.
Speaker 1 (01:35:06):
What is the FED like food like to feed us?
Speaker 5 (01:35:10):
Right?
Speaker 1 (01:35:10):
Yeah, yeah, what's going on here? He's talking much fed?
You know I'm hungry too, Right?
Speaker 3 (01:35:16):
So I did not do great.
Speaker 1 (01:35:18):
Now, Well, what got me was in high school. I mean,
you know you had to go, I mean you could skip. No.
I got to college and then I realized, wait, a minute,
you mean they don't care if I come here once
you started. So they don't really, I mean, they don't
take roll and it's just up to me to study
in trouble.
Speaker 5 (01:35:36):
No. Hey, by the way, and this will make all
of us feel better. Elon Musk World's richest man. Pretty
smart guy only made around eighty five average in high school.
Speaker 3 (01:35:45):
As far as he scored, I was lower.
Speaker 1 (01:35:47):
But the lizard people, they developed slower than normal.
Speaker 7 (01:35:51):
Oh now he was the Rick Burdger's show.
Speaker 2 (01:36:04):
We're back live from Big Oak Ranch. I want to
find out about Big Oak. Go to Big Oak dot org.
No matter where you are, you can be a part
of what has been going on uh for decades, but
also be part of some new things that are happening
in the future. Big Oak dot Org. Brodie Croyle, c
(01:36:27):
e O Big Oak Ranch. He played a little ball, uh,
you know, and I played a little ball uh and
of course at the University of Alabama, Kansas City Chiefs
and uh and now CEO of Big Oak Ranch. And
you you've you've you you dared to bring the show
(01:36:48):
live in its entirety to the ranch.
Speaker 1 (01:36:51):
And come back for a second session.
Speaker 3 (01:36:52):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah you have.
Speaker 1 (01:36:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:36:55):
Now, he did send some notes down here that he
told his over accommodatings half yes, uh to come in
and take everybody's coffee and sniff it.
Speaker 1 (01:37:03):
Uh you know, and uh and so so then.
Speaker 6 (01:37:07):
They're over there sucking way, buddy. They're not used to
uh am wake up calls.
Speaker 2 (01:37:14):
When I got here and they were already here, yeah,
I thought, God love them. They're gonna have a two
pm uh icepick.
Speaker 1 (01:37:21):
In the head, you know what I think?
Speaker 6 (01:37:22):
There they were wanting to have a conversation with me
about what is reasonably accommodated.
Speaker 3 (01:37:26):
You know what I mean when when you're head, when
you have them sleepy, it starts off.
Speaker 1 (01:37:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:37:30):
Uh so, uh so, we we do want to talk
about what's going on here. And thank you for for
inviting us here, and and and and we're excited about
what has already happened and fifty plus years, but now
excited about what's going on. And one of the things
we got excited about, so you were on with us
uh uh and we talked it was what didn't about
(01:37:52):
a year ago probably and then and then you then
you came and together.
Speaker 1 (01:37:56):
Yeah, it all runs together. And I've been hitting the
headle up. Yes you have well uh and and we
looked up.
Speaker 2 (01:38:01):
On text Nation and there were people saying, when we
heard Brody on the show, we begin to inquire about
being house parents. And then you said, oh yeah, and
we also have another house parent group that that is
here at the Girls Rant and they also came from.
Speaker 1 (01:38:20):
Hearing you on with us.
Speaker 2 (01:38:22):
And so let's talk about that a little bit. I mean,
when you're talking about the need for parents, house parents,
foster parents, maybe that here we have proof that people
hear this and they respond. So if they're if they're listening,
now talk about some of the needs that you guys
have and how to go about that.
Speaker 6 (01:38:43):
Just put put Rick Burgess down on one of your
reference letters and man, you know it all works out
for you, right, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:38:50):
Only if you knew me from ninety six on. Yeah,
right before that.
Speaker 6 (01:38:56):
Yeah, before that. Well, here's the reality is we live
in a world and we live in a harvest field.
How about that we live in a harvest field that
doesn't have a harvest problem. It has a labor shortage,
no doubt. And ten years ago in our country there
(01:39:16):
were three point five million children that fell under orphan, neglected, abused,
abandon in crisis of some form. Ten years later ten
years later, there's over seven million kids that fall under orphan, neglected, abused,
abandon in crisis or something. That's not a good number.
(01:39:36):
That we doubled in ten years. Here's the other scary
part in what we do and people that take care
of kids. There is forty percent less children's homes today
than there was ten years ago.
Speaker 1 (01:39:50):
I did not know that.
Speaker 7 (01:39:50):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (01:39:51):
So there is a heavy attrition rate that is happening,
and so we're going in opposite directions currently, which is
a bad thing to do. So we've grown, I mean,
we've more than doubled in the past ten years. And
people ask me, well, man, why are y'all growing in
a dying industry? I said, ma'am, because what we do
(01:40:13):
it isn't new. It's just our turn. And so man,
we're going to do anything and everything this side of
eternity to give kids that come from really hard places
that man, and James says, go take care of those kids.
We're going to do everything we can to go trying
to meet that need. And so what we've tried to
(01:40:34):
do is is go do that and what that takes
we talked about it earlier. It doesn't take like it's
not overly complicated, but man typically complicated can get compromising, right,
Oh yeah, but simple, simple is really difficult to execute.
(01:40:55):
And so when it comes to serving kids that come
from a really hard place, man, you better have a
relationship with rejection, and you better have a willing spirit,
and you better be willing to sign up. Not just
to the fact that you were called to this. You
have to accept the fact that you were chosen by
(01:41:17):
God to come and be a willing and capable laborer
in his harvest field.
Speaker 1 (01:41:24):
And you have to choose. And my wife says it best.
Speaker 6 (01:41:26):
She says, you have to say yes every day, because
if you don't say yes every day, Yesterday ain't gonna
do much for you. Tomorrow seems like an eternity. And
so that yes that day literally says Lord, don't just
feel me because I need you, but overflow me to
where I can touch those that you put in my
sphere of influence. And so what our house parents do is,
(01:41:51):
I mean they're missionaries. They literally they sell everything that
they own to come serve children that they have yet
to meet, with the hope that a small thing, repeated
over and over and over again, is going to radically
change their life. And they come here and they do that.
They live here with us. It's full time. They live
in the home.
Speaker 1 (01:42:11):
Man.
Speaker 6 (01:42:11):
They are mom and dad to kids that never got
to experience family the way that God intended for family
to be before sin entered into their picture. And so
they get to recreate what God intended for family to be.
And now we have i mean, our oldest boy at
this point in times, almost seventy years old.
Speaker 3 (01:42:31):
How about that?
Speaker 1 (01:42:31):
Good?
Speaker 3 (01:42:32):
How about that?
Speaker 1 (01:42:33):
Kids?
Speaker 6 (01:42:33):
I mean, so you're talking like a lineage of doing this.
But the reality also is if we're going to do
anything and everything this side of attorney to give as
many children a chance man to meet Jesus, who is
the only hope that truly does change everything, we have
to continue to offer that opportunity. And one of Dad's
(01:42:54):
you know hand off things was man obviously, man, never
take Christian out of our name. It's the never takes
state or federal funds. Man, We're always going to be
one hundred percent privately funded.
Speaker 2 (01:43:04):
And well, because if you start taking the money, they
dictate how they want it done, or they take the money.
Speaker 1 (01:43:08):
It way, That's exactly right. Yeah, and Especien that happened
to the government, I mean, and so.
Speaker 6 (01:43:12):
There's so much foresight way long ago to say, hey,
we're not gonna do that. But one of the other
kind of modus apparandas was never have a no vacancy
sign at the front of Big Oak branch. And so
this year alone, in between our foster care.
Speaker 1 (01:43:27):
Community that we just launched, that's a brand new item.
Sadly a tremendous need I'm sure all over the country,
but in our state it's really over what's over six thousand,
six over six thousand kids just in our states. And
so that's that's a new project into foster care.
Speaker 6 (01:43:43):
We we just I mean, we've been building it for
the past two years.
Speaker 1 (01:43:47):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (01:43:47):
We currently have six homes in a neighborhood down the street.
We just started placing children honestly last week. Uh in
those foster care communities and uh so, man, we're we're
able to now serve children from state custom still without
taking state of federal funds. And you know, we we
(01:44:07):
plan on going from six to ten over the next
rolling twelve, Like by the end of next year, we
want to be at ten homes in that community. We
are currently building two more homes right now, as soon
as we finish I mean at the ranch, one at
the Boys Ranch, one at the Girls Ranch. As soon
as we wrap up construction at the Girls Ranch, we're
probably going to start another one. We need to hire
another four sets of house parents at the Boys Ranch
(01:44:29):
and at the Girls So there's.
Speaker 1 (01:44:30):
A need for more parents always, but more so right
now of the new stuff that you're doing. We have
to find eight called.
Speaker 6 (01:44:42):
Man just servants over the next twelve months to continue
to be able to fill our houses and meet the need.
Speaker 1 (01:44:50):
That is out there.
Speaker 6 (01:44:51):
So when I tell you it is, and it didn't
like we just do the breath test, like oh, you
want to be a house parent, Like yeah, We're going
to make sure because the reality is is if we
I mean we just hired to say yesterday, and they
were like, I promise you. It has to be easier
getting in the CIA than it does becoming a house
(01:45:11):
parent at the rest. But here's the reason. What happens
if we don't hire people that God shows right and
they come here and just out of sheer will last
what the national average is, which is about six to
twelve months. And then we have to tell kids, hey,
(01:45:31):
we love you we want anything from you, We'll just
you know, we want opportunity to earn your love back.
We'll never lie to you. We'll stick with you until
you're grown. Oh yeah, hey, we're going to create boundaries
in your life. But at some point in time there's
rules of giveaway to relationship. Currently, what you feel like
you have to do is gonna become what you want
to do. We tell them that it creates expectation. They
(01:45:52):
begin to believe it, and one year later those same people, Man,
that's a cut, that is deep.
Speaker 1 (01:46:00):
Yeah, you said a minute ago. What we don't need
is house parents to add another scar.
Speaker 6 (01:46:04):
They don't need to add another scar. So our average
right now is about eight years of people that come.
And that's only because we're having to keep higher people
because we keep building houses, so that one day always
hits back on that eight years every year, so it'll
continue to go down as we grow. But man, I
would say this, there can't be a more difficult job
(01:46:29):
out there than coming and being a house parent. I'm
not gonna I'm not gonna sugarcoat and I'm not going
to try to paint a picture that it's not. Just
try and recruit you to come and say, hey, like, man,
the reality is raising your own kids is hard enough.
But man, raising kids that come from hard places that
are going to reject your love maybe the whole time
(01:46:50):
you're with them. Man, but you were just willing to
plan a seed that maybe sometimes feels like it's buried,
but in reality it was just it was planted and
it just hadn't sprung yet. That's a hard job. But
what I also can tell you is that, man, when
you are serving in the will of God, and you're
serving something greater than yourself, you'll never find a more
(01:47:13):
rewarding and fulfilling experience here on earth than getting to
play a part in the life of not only a
kid getting to experience the freedom that comes in Christ,
but getting to live out what family was always intended
to be. And one day that kid's going to be
a dad, one day that kid's going to be a mom,
(01:47:35):
and then you got to play a part in literally
changing the trajectory of their life. Wow, there's nothing more
fulfilling now.
Speaker 1 (01:47:43):
And you know, it's one of those things where.
Speaker 2 (01:47:47):
I've met house parents, I've never met one and met
him who sacrificed a lot to answer that call never
met one.
Speaker 1 (01:47:55):
That regretted it.
Speaker 3 (01:47:55):
Yeah, not one.
Speaker 2 (01:47:57):
So bigoak dot org. If God's tugging at you, start
the process. You're needed and uh and and we're waiting
on you to contact us.
Speaker 7 (01:48:07):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 1 (01:48:20):
All right, we're back. Thanks for being with us live
from Big Oak today, Big Ol' ranch, beautiful place, do
great work.
Speaker 2 (01:48:27):
Can you find out more about going to their website
Big Old dot org. So some things to kind of
update you on tonight, beautiful Henderson, Tennessee.
Speaker 1 (01:48:38):
This is an incredible story there. Of course it's it's
a friend ed ed Ed Jones is up there, Edward Jones,
I call him d H. But anyway, this was one
of the this was one of those stories.
Speaker 5 (01:48:52):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:48:52):
You know that little a little church is actually the
church is actually in Finger, Tennessee, our Finger. And he
started doing a Sunday morning version of curriculum from Themanchurch
dot com and getting men from the community to come
to his church. And the church tripled in size, small
(01:49:13):
little church because men in the community started going to
that curriculum class then bringing their families in just as
we you know, envisioned, and it's just been a great story.
And then last year he decided he would take it
outside the church we'd already done manchurches there and go
to the Williams Auditorium Williams Auditorium and Henderson, which is
(01:49:36):
near there in Henderson, Tennessee. And tonight Scott Dawson and
Tony Cooper will be there. Blake Prime and I were
there last year. It was a great event, and Scott
Dawson and Tony Cooper there tonight. If you want to
find out more about that, just go to the manchurch
dot com under events and be part of that tonight.
Speaker 3 (01:49:54):
All right.
Speaker 1 (01:49:55):
So I was looking at some of the stories that
you threw out here today. This is a dandy here
a woman going one hundred and seven miles an hour. Wow,
one O seven one o seven. Everybody on US nineteen
has greg seen the stories I mentioned. I was reading
(01:50:15):
one of the headlines out loud prior to the show,
but obviously he wasn't paying attention.
Speaker 2 (01:50:19):
Yeah, show video of them, Yes, so great? So what
what what do you think a woman was going? Because
this was important? One hundred and seven miles per hour.
She was pulled over on US nineteen. Uh, and she's
in Palm Harbor Florida. Is it fifty five miles per
hour zone?
Speaker 3 (01:50:36):
A little over?
Speaker 2 (01:50:36):
And when the county tent when the county sheriff came
up and asked her why she was going so.
Speaker 1 (01:50:43):
Fast, I'd like for you to tell me what late
for a hair appointment. Okay, that's not a bit. They're
a lawyer. That's not a bad guess. You know a
movie spot or do you know it? But I tell
you one that I would probably say is that I
have to use the bathroom so bad. If I don't
do if I if I'm not going to fast, I'm
about to want I want to check you this. Not
(01:51:03):
everybody is always in the bathroom. I'm saying, maybe has
a little bit of you know what. I've been there before. Yeah,
but I've stopped you now you're in a buye. Maybe
she was.
Speaker 5 (01:51:14):
I think she was, like I found out my husband
was having a good time, and I'm here to stop
put a stop to it.
Speaker 3 (01:51:18):
Okay, my husband was.
Speaker 1 (01:51:21):
Relaxed as blood wrestler was down. I can't have that.
It's Valentine weighing in. Okay, watch it. All good guesses, guys,
all good guesses, but but not not correct. Okay, what
is it?
Speaker 3 (01:51:37):
The Little Caesars was about to close.
Speaker 1 (01:51:39):
Okay, so.
Speaker 3 (01:51:41):
It's pizzas. Ain't that good?
Speaker 1 (01:51:45):
Wait a minute, how hungry are you? Yeah? You know,
I can't even remember. Now this is the pizza Pizza bunch.
Right then they had the fire, but that is them. Yeah, yeah,
they had the five dollars one. Yeah, taste like cardboard,
but it works little bit. Little Caizure not, I.
Speaker 3 (01:52:01):
Mean, they're paan pizza is pretty good.
Speaker 2 (01:52:03):
Little Caesar always kind of had the attitude our pizza
is not that great, but it's cheap, right, were not always?
Speaker 1 (01:52:10):
So you know what? Now you know where I go? Right,
I know where I go. Meltow mushroom, Well no, I
mean if it's cheap and how it goes, I'm sorry.
Mellow Mushroom is actually a kind of high grade pizza
that costs a little because as long as you will
go outside the regular crust something, they're they're already, they're ready.
Speaker 3 (01:52:29):
You said you're to get them out.
Speaker 1 (01:52:31):
You're all over that ar. But it depends on how
much of a bind. If there's if there, if we
have planning, we know what we're gonna need. Obviously we
order pizza, go get it, have it delivered.
Speaker 3 (01:52:41):
Whatever.
Speaker 1 (01:52:42):
If I'm in a bind and and spur of the moment,
Hey we need we need pizza, we need something, I
will go run through the drive through.
Speaker 3 (01:52:48):
Did you go one hundred Selene?
Speaker 1 (01:52:49):
No, I didn't do that. Boy, this is about to
make a lot more sense.
Speaker 3 (01:52:52):
Guys, I like that.
Speaker 1 (01:52:53):
She told him that.
Speaker 2 (01:52:54):
By the way, she's under her wrest. Okay, she for
excessive speeding, I would.
Speaker 1 (01:52:59):
Think, and uh, but let me throw this out there
at Gregory.
Speaker 2 (01:53:04):
Your your other point may be right. What time did
Little Caesars close midnight?
Speaker 1 (01:53:09):
Oh? Yeah, he was starting. Yeah, I had a.
Speaker 2 (01:53:13):
Party hungry, and so that that does not go with it. No,
I don't think I'm you one hundred and seven miles
an hour?
Speaker 1 (01:53:22):
Not not sure?
Speaker 3 (01:53:23):
Little Caesars hot and ready. Yeah, it's gonna meet that.
Speaker 1 (01:53:27):
I've got another one here. Have y'all ever like back
in your days, Ever got onto like an open open
land some grass and done donuts and everything. Yeah, you
do that a lot. I have people who do that
on our property that we own. I wish they'd stop. Yeah. Yeah,
and you had the classic Yeah, hey, they broke out
(01:53:48):
on our high school football field. Yeah, soccer field. I'm Sorry,
a seventeen year old has been busted. He got on
a golf course in Florida. Oh no, he didts but
listen to this. He cost one hundred and sixty thousand dollars.
He confessed it. Says he did it because he was bored.
(01:54:11):
Because he was bored, But that would be that would
be something I do. I just go out, Hey, I'm
just gonna do this one time, have fun. One hundred
and sixty thousand dollars worth of damage because he was bored,
because he was born donuts at a place that really
cares about grass. Yeah, a golf course really can't. Oh yeah,
he got on the green too. It looks like, oh
this is bad. It was called on surveillance footage to
(01:54:32):
do with the doughnuts. You can't do this stuff anymore.
We could do this growing up, even I could. But
you can't do it anymore.
Speaker 3 (01:54:39):
But you wouldn't do it on a golf course.
Speaker 1 (01:54:42):
He destroyed seven thousand square feet on the second hole,
causing one hundred and sixty thousand dollars worth of damage.
The general manager of the golf course he arrived to
discover the second green was just just toward.
Speaker 2 (01:54:54):
A piece well you know, and you shouldn't do it.
But like you say, nowadays you're gonna get busted for sure.
There's there's cameras everywhere, and uh and and the other thing.
Speaker 1 (01:55:04):
It was bored And.
Speaker 2 (01:55:06):
I'm like this, do y'all remember I remember, I'm sick
and tired of like current day young people always talking
about being bored. Yeah, I mean, you know, I mean yeah,
I mean, do you remember ever being bored?
Speaker 1 (01:55:18):
When you played with.
Speaker 3 (01:55:21):
We were ever bored.
Speaker 1 (01:55:23):
I'm bored.
Speaker 5 (01:55:24):
We looked we just when we were waiting for something
like our parents. We just stared at stuff.
Speaker 1 (01:55:29):
We're much more creative things to do.
Speaker 4 (01:55:33):
And then we looked up at a sign and we
looked back down at their shoes.
Speaker 1 (01:55:35):
Again.
Speaker 7 (01:55:38):
It was the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 1 (01:55:55):
Like we got a.
Speaker 7 (01:56:06):
Broadcasting from the New World, The Rich Burches Show.
Speaker 1 (01:56:11):
Alright, we're back, you know, unbelievable, you know, unbelievable. Yeah,
it's so that was a tattletale. Move on, speed you
right there, Speedy is funny. Adler all here, Uh, and
we thank you for being with us today, America. If
you missed in the show Case daily archive, it's always
available for you on the YouTube channel.
Speaker 2 (01:56:33):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:56:33):
And or the podcast channel. Never miss a minute, all right,
So we we have we're a big Oak ranch. We've
we've been broadcasting here for three hours now. We're in
our third hour hour actually our fourth hour. We've already
done three.
Speaker 2 (01:56:50):
Uh it's been it's been a blast with a beautiful
place in the hospitality here, uh, second to none.
Speaker 1 (01:56:57):
So we wants the sun come up. When the sun
came up this morning, but I took the time to
wadg it rise. So we're we're starting the hour with
with with plenty going on here. But I've noticed that
you you tattled on, Greg. Yeah, I think we've been instructed. Okay,
(01:57:21):
we've been instructed forget and sometimes when y'all hear this,
if that picks up or not. Everything these uh these
own location headsets, they're real convenient. They got more food,
but boy boy they rattle. Uh yeah they yeah. The
headsets with the mic built in, like he just said. Uh,
and so anytime they're very sensitive to mike is if
(01:57:42):
you just touch it and all that. And we tried
to be good. So we've been we've been instructed that
that we need to have them on and seated in
silent by the time everything starts for that segment, and
this one over here waits till it's about five ten
seconds in Here you go.
Speaker 2 (01:57:57):
Go, Here comes Otis. Otis is putting his head set
when I first started doing this.
Speaker 1 (01:58:02):
At the end of the segment, I take him and
drop them yeah right with baby step the baby step,
And it's not as loud as he acts, like he
asked books at you with an exaggerated face, like yeah, well,
I'm doing that on purpose. I know I'm having a
good time with it because I get in trouble. Tom
Scott like it, and I'm tired of get in trouble
because of you. I got the ending part. I gotta
(01:58:23):
get the beginning. I tell you, Davy Allen, don't like it. No,
you wonder what I said, Greg, You wonder why they're
actually professionals, and they were like want I want to
sound good? And then there's old Greg. I get in trouble.
You stand. I have to take up for you a lot.
Speaker 3 (01:58:38):
I appreciate.
Speaker 1 (01:58:39):
Do you realize you realize you realize in our industry
and Tom's been in it as a professional, Davy Allen
as a professional, all those that are in the business
and like take it serious. The things they have to
overcome to even tolerate us. Yeah, that's kind of be awful,
it really does. They're like, I don't know where are
they still? Did they just get an extension on their contract.
(01:59:00):
Every time I think it's over for them, they seem
to stay alone. How many times do you think they
tell us off in their head? So many? Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:59:06):
Tom, Tom is just too good a he's just too nice.
Say what's on his heart. I know he's walked down
that long many times cussing in my head.
Speaker 1 (01:59:13):
Yeah, yeah, his head. The things he.
Speaker 2 (01:59:14):
Said, you know, I told you, I will tell you this.
I'll tell you he doesn't really like because he's an engineer.
He didn't like us eating and drinking in there.
Speaker 1 (01:59:20):
No crimes everywhere back at those studio. Oh yeah, and
I've noticed that, like, even if y'all do something, I'm
the one that's contacted about it.
Speaker 2 (01:59:29):
That's really I don't know what you're the producer, buddy.
I can't tell you how how many times he's came
to me and yeah, that's like I'm your handler right there.
Speaker 1 (01:59:41):
Hey, Well you ask Greg if he can do this,
I'm like, what the heck called? Well, you know why,
because Greg's got that look on his face and nobody
wants to ask him anything that's not that's true. He looks.
Greg just walks around and looking in his face like
he's annoying. You don't even know what by what. I'm
just worry about Greg's painter dot com. Okay, there he goes, Hey,
what do y'all do? It's Saturday?
Speaker 6 (02:00:01):
Me.
Speaker 1 (02:00:01):
Yeah, you don't, Mamma, you you but you're just you're bad,
that's what you are, and uh not talking about it.
Speaker 3 (02:00:09):
Yeah, no, you know what I will say this, Sherry
and I.
Speaker 2 (02:00:14):
Sherry and I have been, uh been very very active
and gone to a lot of places of the last
couple of weekends been a very very tough grind. We've
got to host Thanksgiving this year.
Speaker 3 (02:00:28):
Outside and Christmas Eve freezing and Christmas Eve me and
so so we are.
Speaker 1 (02:00:35):
Going nowhere this weekend. That's my goal, Rick, I'm not
trying to be this guy. And then the weather guy
admitted it. Lisa was reading it to me. Hey, this
is a long shot. This was like two days ago.
But there's a chance that Thanksgiving is going to be cold.
I'm seeing it right falls now. He said, you know
it's it's early. Yeah, extended forecast speedy. I don't want
to see a week from yesterday forecast from today high
(02:00:59):
high low twenty four with ten mile hour wind. Let
me tell you this, let me that. Let me tell
you why I'm not. He did say there's a chance
because it's warming up, then right, maybe let me tell
you why. And that may be true.
Speaker 2 (02:01:12):
And that may be true, but but I'm the reason
why I'm not paying attention to this. It's just like
I mentioned a busy weekend last weekend when we were
going up and I was speaking at the you know,
the brush Arbor, you know, a festival of the booths
and all that, which was incredible at the at the
church in small town, Alabama.
Speaker 1 (02:01:33):
You realized the forecast for that day was they weren't
supposed to be able to do that outside because it
was supposed.
Speaker 3 (02:01:37):
To rain like crazy.
Speaker 1 (02:01:38):
They were even doing like alert levels and garbage like
that rescheduled ball game.
Speaker 2 (02:01:43):
And how about this, They didn't get any of it right.
The rain did not come when they told them to.
It wasn't severe weather. It did rain eventually hours after
they said it was the rain. And so I mean,
they can't even get they can't even get a day, right,
a day or two out. Yeah, So so I mean
you think they're going to get two weeks right?
Speaker 6 (02:02:02):
No?
Speaker 1 (02:02:02):
Yeah, the highest sixty one lows like forty five, so
you'll be fine. So what you're saying is James band
don't know what he's talking about. That is what I'm saying.
Normally they can dial in. The temperature is pretty good,
but it's if it's going to rain or not. No,
James taught me that what I just told you comes
from James. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:02:16):
James says, look, if the closer you're trying to start,
so he said, he said, these seven day, ten day forecasts,
he said, let's just trying to be sharp.
Speaker 3 (02:02:25):
Yeah, that's the words he used.
Speaker 1 (02:02:27):
He did plus plus with chemtrails.
Speaker 4 (02:02:30):
That you know that the government is going to change
the weather how they want it.
Speaker 2 (02:02:34):
Yeah, I will say this talking about the holidays coming up,
I just got word from Sherry via text.
Speaker 1 (02:02:44):
Man and it's it's a job. It's a job to Hey,
I'm putting the Christmas slides up right now. Go ship,
you're putting them up. I'm putting them up right now.
That's what she said. What she said the cruise here
putting up the Christmas and I hired them, so so
you're doing it. I'm putting them in directly. You're putting
(02:03:06):
lots on the house. Yeah yeah, but how about that.
They're all over that house. Oh yeah, and lights or
lights are coming up and so I will illuminate the
crest tonight with one flip of the switch. Se Lisa's
been under the weather and battling sickness for Collin. Is
she doing any better? So we haven't even brought up
Christmas yet, putting it out, but I know I'm gonna
(02:03:27):
get to call at some point she doing any better?
Speaker 2 (02:03:30):
That coughs really bad, but but seems to back it,
seems to be feeling better. Yeah, Greg, come, one's doing well?
I do, I mean, but I hate the report, but
it's not a lot of improvement. I'm sure better than
the first.
Speaker 1 (02:03:42):
Okay, okay, all right? Did grounding help well in the
cold weather? Knock? A few days of grounding now she
couldn't go out to the cold barefoot against the tree.
Maybe she'll crank that up a little more.
Speaker 3 (02:03:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (02:03:53):
So the day you told us that you came home
and Lisa was standing out in the yard barefoot, hugging
a tree because she was grounding, and then you know
all the hip hippie stuff.
Speaker 1 (02:04:02):
She's so desperate. I've been there. You're just like, I'll
try anything. Drinking warm yellow Yeah, try that.
Speaker 4 (02:04:10):
And then that same day I told you to tell
her kimchi, eat some kimchi?
Speaker 3 (02:04:15):
Oh yeah?
Speaker 1 (02:04:16):
Did she do that? It's like fermented.
Speaker 2 (02:04:20):
There's something weird chibani ko. Remember I told you I
drank the litt kaboo she had that the farmer's market.
She'll drink a litt kabooch every now.
Speaker 1 (02:04:28):
And that's what it's kind of stuff kindout, Yeah, it is.
Speaker 3 (02:04:32):
It is stout.
Speaker 1 (02:04:33):
What is it? I mean, it ain't jogging in a jug,
but it's stout.
Speaker 4 (02:04:35):
It's like it's like it's got like a live culture
in there.
Speaker 2 (02:04:39):
Should he throw in some of that? What's that other thing?
Everybody drinks? Apod thing from from the other?
Speaker 1 (02:04:45):
Yeah? Is she trying that?
Speaker 3 (02:04:46):
There is no other she has before? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (02:04:48):
Sure, try it in the morning and and mix it
with something. Drink it solid. There's a mixture you can do.
It's grape juice, apple cider.
Speaker 3 (02:04:58):
One more thing. It's pretty good.
Speaker 1 (02:05:00):
Whiskey.
Speaker 2 (02:05:01):
Maybe I know, can I ask you this since I'm
putting up, since I'm putting up the Christmas lights right now,
you're so handy, you're right, but but but but get
are my Christmas lights on the crest?
Speaker 3 (02:05:16):
Are they?
Speaker 1 (02:05:17):
Am?
Speaker 2 (02:05:17):
I now the kid with the loud truck so there,
So the people across the street facing my house, I
had it, they're dreading it. Yeah, they're getting the sunglasses out.
Speaker 1 (02:05:26):
Oh yeah, yeah, I can't see.
Speaker 3 (02:05:28):
Okay, I got you.
Speaker 1 (02:05:29):
It's falling all over the place.
Speaker 2 (02:05:30):
And by the way, I don't know how it's possible
with the kid with the loud truck. I think his
trust getting louder.
Speaker 3 (02:05:34):
Oh, I don't even get some new I don't.
Speaker 1 (02:05:37):
I don't know. No, I think he's just the music
speakers in the back of the truck, not inside the truck.
I think he's now. I think he's now blaring music
and loud muffling. Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (02:05:47):
Yeah, And I mean I've turned into mister crabbit. You're
gonna have to cut his tires Greg.
Speaker 1 (02:05:54):
Now if somebody doesn't.
Speaker 7 (02:05:57):

Speaker 1 (02:09:44):
Then they're blamed Mercer.
Speaker 2 (02:09:46):
As a matter of fact, this Mercer game is is

Back Catalop started football joke got them.
Speaker 1 (02:10:01):
So you know what, when did you think that's what
I would like to? Will you? Will you free up?
Will you free up? Luke to still go.
Speaker 5 (02:10:08):
Oh yes, yeah, yeah, okay, when did you see I
ripped on him for forgetting that time you thought it was.
Speaker 1 (02:10:13):
I thought it was a couple of weeks for Thanksgiving?
Speaker 3 (02:10:16):
Right, yeah, I don't know what we're good.
Speaker 5 (02:10:17):
I don't know what day it is. I'm literally surviving
one day at a time in my life, so the.
Speaker 3 (02:10:22):
Calendar means nothing.
Speaker 2 (02:10:23):
So so anyway, Sherry, which I agree with, she said,
you know, we need to line the entire property.
Speaker 1 (02:10:30):
Yeah, make fun of that.
Speaker 2 (02:10:31):
Great with with with fence and it looks it looks
weird to have a little bit of fence and not
and plus people, as I said, you seem to think
it was okay, Uh, we'll do donuts in our yard
and in our pasture and so some of it because
there's not a fence there, they just come right off
the road right onto it, which at the dirt road
that so anyway, So so I'm actually putting up a
(02:10:55):
wooden fence down there, and because you see the one
I've put up here, and and now that I see
it and put up and when I see it, well,
I hired the people to do it. But when you
look at this fence and by the way, Gary course,
you know, can you zoom in on that?
Speaker 1 (02:11:10):
Yeah? So does this make camp house? Does it take
away from campus add to camp house? Is it? Is
it making campus look to too nice? Right there? What
is this? Are y'all okay with this? I don't think
we're looking at the picture right now here on the screen.
Sure if it's you know, that important enough to fence off?
What do you see though? That's the property line right
(02:11:30):
there connected to the fence down there?
Speaker 3 (02:11:32):
You've got a problem with that. I kind of figured
you probably by the road.
Speaker 1 (02:11:35):
Well, I know I got you, Greg, but I mean
you also, I wasn't standing in front of your who's property?
Is this? Do you like? People tell you a lot
of people don't nothing in your yard? Now? I know
they can just come right That could be like that's
a decorative. Get that, Well, that's my pain. That's my point.
It is it's decorative? Yeah, And do I need to
put a gate on there? And then now we're out
there waiting open gate. Right, So if you had a
(02:11:58):
problem with people coming up in there, no, I know,
but up there by the white House I have. But
but but there's there's continuity, right because on the other
side I continue.
Speaker 3 (02:12:07):
Yeah, so it continues.
Speaker 1 (02:12:08):
Now we have winding fance Greg, Greg, look wing tie
we can you know, for riding horses.
Speaker 3 (02:12:13):
We can, but do I'll see what I mean?
Speaker 1 (02:12:15):
Does this?
Speaker 3 (02:12:16):
Does this bother you all about camp house?
Speaker 2 (02:12:18):
Now?
Speaker 1 (02:12:18):
I don't bother me. If you've seen where's the booger light?
Well I know that Greg's Well, you wouldn't be if
you take the trash. That booger light would help. Oh boy,
good rights are helpful, very helpful, they are. I'm going
to send you another picture speedy, all right, So this
one that.
Speaker 2 (02:12:37):
Greg can have something to say about the two, because
you got something to say about everything I'm saying today.
Speaker 1 (02:12:40):
I'll tell you.
Speaker 3 (02:12:41):
I'll tell you seriously. I don't want to embarrass the client.
Speaker 1 (02:12:43):
I mean that with the sales person. But you and
I about to go out here and we're about to
get after it. Look, if you want to put there
is there is that there is right there outside little
courtyard area I can't. You can't meet me on the
face because we're not in the home studio.
Speaker 2 (02:12:56):
Once you meet me out there, sadly, sadly, Greg here,
I have to say maybe at the Bible verse.
Speaker 1 (02:13:02):
Yeah, okay, So I feel bad for Rick. What are
you doing? Are you sending anything or what? You know what?
And you're in patience? Today's got them never a little bit? Well,
for some reason, you want to you want to text
at the studio when we need you to email instead
of just texting your emailing says backwards day. I thought
y'all told me that, let's see does this bother you? All?
(02:13:22):
This gives you a look, you can actually see camp house?
Speaker 3 (02:13:25):
Does that bother us?
Speaker 1 (02:13:27):
We do? We like this? Little would bother us? Well?
Do you think it looks too nice? You put it?
Speaker 2 (02:13:32):
Take away any any any camp house feel I would
have felt like that. I went to the campus, yet
I drove by it. If you had to warn me, yeah,
I'm trying to warn you. So we got we got
we gotta turn in right there. So all right, let
me try.
Speaker 4 (02:13:43):
Y'all got mental problems? If a fence bothers you this much.
Speaker 2 (02:13:46):
It's this guy right here. Don't say I mean, well,
I'm just trying to see is that what we want?
Speaker 1 (02:13:50):
I mean, you know, he's a decorative fence for decorations.
Functional does it go with the house? I mean you
can't put no livestock in it. But yeah, I mean
I got you, Okay, all right, a gate would be nice, Yeah,
it would be nice. I have you guess you have
to get out of your truck.
Speaker 3 (02:14:06):
Every time with camp house on it. Uh, all right,
we'll come back.
Speaker 1 (02:14:11):
Oh yeah, the camp house on your gate.
Speaker 5 (02:14:13):
We need to all right, you got a dirt road,
We need to get on horses and we need to
live out the song old Town road, all.
Speaker 1 (02:14:19):
Of us riding horses.
Speaker 2 (02:14:20):
Well, of course Greg wants to live out get mere
running down the dirt road, swearing we can moss.
Speaker 7 (02:14:27):
He's the week. We're just show.
Speaker 3 (02:14:40):
All right, we're back live from Big Oak Ranch.
Speaker 5 (02:14:44):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (02:14:44):
And it has been a great time here. Uh.
Speaker 2 (02:14:49):
It's also a great partnership. Uh to take these platforms
and put them together and have impact.
Speaker 1 (02:14:55):
Bottom line, Brody Crawl.
Speaker 3 (02:14:57):
The CEO is back. He's joining us.
Speaker 2 (02:15:00):
Uh again this iur for us just kind of hanging
out and we have we have talked a lot about
you know, the ranch and and you know, and all
the how you can get involved and the process.
Speaker 1 (02:15:13):
But but you know, you and I were just talking
and you were talking to us with the guys. You know,
there's there's got to be the why. Uh.
Speaker 2 (02:15:20):
And and I know that I'm asking you an impossible question,
but but it seems like you're that you have an answer.
Give give us one story that that has impacted you, uh,
that that might also impact somebody else.
Speaker 1 (02:15:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:15:38):
So I've listened to you every time when you say, hey,
Brody Krall, CEO of Big O' Grant, and it feels
weird when you say that. Yeah, and listen, It's the
honor of my life. Like I literally I mean this, like,
out of all people that God could have chosen, I
never take it for granted that He chose me, Like
I never take it for granted of all the people
(02:15:59):
that man, I get to serve and I get to
be a part of growing the kingdom here on earth with.
But that also, I feel like somewhat minimizes what this
place means.
Speaker 1 (02:16:11):
To me, because.
Speaker 6 (02:16:15):
Man, that might be a title, but that is sure
enough not my heart. I went straight from the hospital
to the ranch. So it was literally I mean, it's
literally it's the only life that I've ever known. Until
I got to college, I was like, oh not everybody
grew up with this men, brothers and sisters. And so
people have asked me for like, man, what why is
(02:16:36):
this place so important to you? And I just say, man,
because it's one that is my life, it's my heart.
But man, every little Joey deserves a chance. And they say, well,
what's that mean? So we all have moments in our life,
plays in our life that kind of define, you know,
(02:16:57):
where we are, and we can either man, that moment
can make us or we can make the moment. It
all depends on who you're returning that gift back to, right.
And so when I was five years old, I experienced
this first play moment in my life. And I'm five
years old and I'm staying at the front of the
administration building at the Boy's Ranch, and this old beat
up truck pulled up and this guy gets out. He's
(02:17:18):
smoking a cigarette and he throws it down, he stomps
it out, and he walks up and he walks up
to my dad, and I got my arm wrapped her
on my dad's leg, and my dad's you know, six',
six you, know just this huge white. Head now at
this point in, time it's like a cute tip with ears.
Speaker 1 (02:17:33):
And th are his, words not.
Speaker 6 (02:17:35):
Mine SO i can my father and he walked up
and he looked up my. Dad he, goes you're the
man in, charge and my dad, said he, SAID i.
Reckon he, said, WELL i got a new girlfriend and
she told ME i got a. Pick it's either her
or my. Boys he, said, so if it's all right with,
you he, Said i'm gonna leave my three boys with. You,
(02:17:56):
wow and out they. Got eleven year old gets, out says,
fighting and we're getting beat up and we're going. Hungry he,
says this sounds pretty good to. Me he Said i'm,
in and he went inside and he started playing basketball
to all other. Boys the ten year old gets, out,
SAYS i told y'all he was gonna leave, us and
man took off run and took our social. Worker they
had to go catch him bringing back let me know
(02:18:16):
everything was going to be, Okay but then my moment got.
Out BUT i didn't know at the, time but my
why of WHAT i was later going to give my
life to got, out and six year Old joey gets
out of the car and he realizes what's going, on
and he walks. Around he jumps, up and he puts
his arms around his daddy's neck and he, says. No he,
said you can't leave me the same way mom. Did
(02:18:39):
AND i don't remember a whole lot about my. Childhood
AND i don't know if that is just. TRAUMA i
don't know if his. CONCUSSIONS i don't know which he
wanted it really. Is BUT i remember vividly my dad reaching.
Around he peeled that little boy's hands off of his daddy's,
neck pulled him into his. Chest he's kicking and he's.
Screaming the dad got in the truck and drove off
(02:18:59):
and saw him again until after they graduated high. School
WHAT i didn't know was that boy was going to
become my, brother and we were gonna play baseball. Together
we were going to rodeo. Together he was going to
be in our. Wedding and you, know you come, back
and so many times in life you.
Speaker 1 (02:19:20):
You missed the.
Speaker 6 (02:19:21):
Moment and so many times in life people are looking for.
Purpose AND i always, say, hey if, man if you
ever want to go find your, purpose maybe you should
start with an audit of your. Past that's a good
place to, start because there's so many times in life
where we use What god was trying to use to
point us down a, path but instead we take that
gift for ourselves versus returning it back to.
Speaker 1 (02:19:43):
Him, well twelve.
Speaker 6 (02:19:45):
Years AGO i realize what that moment was for because
that young, man that six year old who grew up
to be my, brother called me and, said, man what
you doing Is i'm sitting at the, office he, SAID i,
said what are you? Doing he, Said i'm getting. MARRIED
i was, like oh my, gosh, MAN i, said tell
me about her all the different. Things and he tells
me about this, girl how amazing she, is all the different.
(02:20:07):
Things and at the end of that, conversation he, Said,
brody CAN i tell you. SOMETHING i, said, yeah he,
said twenty seven years, ago he, said my dad pulled
to a stranger.
Speaker 1 (02:20:14):
Driveway M. M he. Said it was the lowest point
of my, life he.
Speaker 6 (02:20:18):
Said AND i got out AND i met this, big
tall man that made me four, promises that he had loved,
me that he had never lied to, me they had
stick with, me and that there were ever going to be.
Boundaries but those rules were there for, me he. Said
but THEN i walked inside and he, said AND i
met my real mom and she, said, Man, Mom duke's
gonna sit at the front row of my wedding because
she was my mom when she didn't have to.
Speaker 2 (02:20:38):
Be.
Speaker 6 (02:20:38):
Wow he, Said AND i met my real dad and he, Said,
Pop duke's gonna stand next to. Me is my best
man because he stood in the gap when he didn't have.
To he, Said but how cool is it at my lowest,
Point god was already preparing me for the Life i'm
about to.
Speaker 1 (02:20:50):
LIVE i, said what do you?
Speaker 6 (02:20:51):
Mean he, Said the Girl i'm marrying has a seven
year old daughter THAT i now get to be to
her what they were to me so many years.
Speaker 1 (02:20:57):
Ago.
Speaker 6 (02:20:58):
Wow and he just, Said, MAN i just thought it
was super cool That god always had a, plan even
at my lowest, point even in the, valley he always
had a plan for my.
Speaker 1 (02:21:06):
Life he. SAID i know you're, busy he, SAID i
got a. Run the reality is is that.
Speaker 6 (02:21:11):
Man two people chose to come serve something greater in,
themselves and over time spilled over into a young boy
who now realizes that man his purpose is to be
the man That god created him to. Be we've spoke
at length of how much need is out. There the
(02:21:32):
reality is, is, man there are thousands Of joey's in this.
State there are millions Of joey's throughout this country that.
All and it doesn't matter where you, start.
Speaker 7 (02:21:46):
Man The.
Speaker 6 (02:21:49):
Bible is full of stories that people start, somewhere and
it's the reality is that where you start does not
define where it is that you. Finish and when these
kids begin to realize, that, man they were created for.
More what happened to them was not of their choosing
or of their, doing and it was Not god's plan
for their. Life But god can take that and use
(02:22:12):
it for something radically. Good, yeah And he'll turn that
pain into. Purpose we have over two hundred kids that
live with us right now that are all little joys
and their stories being written right. Now we got kids
that live with us right now that grew up on
dirt floors and the first time that they came here
was the first time that they ever got to sleep
in a. Bed we got kids that man come from
(02:22:35):
being groomed to be trafficked that now get to realize, that,
man this isn't the life THAT i had to go.
Live we got girls that their mom literally would sell
them to where they could pay their own. Rent now
those girls have now accepted the fact, that, man that
was WHERE i. Started but now they're married and they
(02:22:56):
have their own, children and they're loving those children the
way that they always want it to be loved and
the way that they saw that love manifested itself while
here At Big oak and here with people that chose
to be mom and dad to. Them you can't put
(02:23:17):
you can't put that fully into words until you meet these,
kids because when you meet these, kids you quickly, realize,
man these aren't bad. Kids these are just kids that
come from bad places and in the right, environment in
the right soil and the right, season with the right,
(02:23:38):
people that seed that was planted that at one point in, Time,
man they might have thought it was, dead they might
have thought it was, Buried but that, seed in the
right environment will begin to, rise and at that point
in time they become every bit of what it was
that they.
Speaker 1 (02:23:55):
Were created to.
Speaker 6 (02:23:56):
Be and so when we, say, hey, man where does
this begin and where does it? End it begins in
the world that it would be hard to say that
the enemy is not attacking our. Children oh my, goodness
it would be incredibly, hard but it would also be
(02:24:17):
incredibly difficult to. Say, man it's more than it's ever. Been,
man these are the same, demons just different. Days you
go all the way back to Canaan, abel you go
all the way back to the literally The egyptians killing
off an entire just generation of young. MEN i, mean
you go to the time Of jesus and the government
(02:24:38):
literally killing off an entire generation of young. Men, like
this is the same. Demons it's just a different. Day
and WHAT i tell people, is, man it is our
time to step in and do. That and it doesn't
just stop here at the ranch, Though like that's all
of our call as. Parents, like somebody is discipling your, kid,
(02:25:00):
right is it you?
Speaker 1 (02:25:01):
Two is it?
Speaker 6 (02:25:02):
TikTok is it someone that you're hoping will stand in the,
gap or is it as we as parents decide to step,
in and we're gonna, say, no this is the greatest
gift That god gave me here on, earth and it
is on loan to me and, man whether it be
a boy that we're trying to raise in to be
a future, man or whether it is a daughter that
(02:25:22):
man we are trying to raise in to just be
in this this woman of, virtue This proverbs thirty one.
Woman we've all been given these gifts of raising the next.
Generation the difference is we just get to do it
here and with kids that.
Speaker 1 (02:25:39):
Come from our. Places, wow well there you. Go it
is so so how how are you? Know we all
have the?
Speaker 2 (02:25:45):
Call but this specific role you play in that may.
Vary so why don't you go look at the things
that are. Available you could just be someone who financially
provides the way for somebody else who now is actually
going to to be in the.
Speaker 1 (02:26:01):
House. Whatever go to A Big oak dot org and
find that.
Speaker 7 (02:26:04):
Call this is The Rick Burgess. Show all, right we're.
Speaker 1 (02:26:20):
Back live From Big. OAK i, mean it's been an incredible.
Day we still have more to.
Speaker 2 (02:26:23):
Go uh as we are hanging, out thank you for.
THIS i thank all of you for being with. Us,
uh all of you that are, texting on Text, nation,

Speaker 3 (02:26:49):

Speaker 1 (02:26:51):

where he's got to handle an unscreenphone. CALL i, mean

Speaker 4 (02:27:01):

Speaker 1 (02:27:06):
Is uh so that's, Me thank, You. Davy it was
a little hat. One it. Was it was it's sorry
for the glare coming off and hit for. Him but,
anyway so you know there and he's just gonna and
people gonna know they got city's only one in the
sun and it's. REFLECTING i turned the ball in the.
(02:27:31):
Middle he's got, Son greg And rick have no. Son so,
yeah BUT i just think they'll take advantage Of. Davey,
yeah well they. Weren't they will now then it'll be
On davy to, like you, know dump them on a,
fly you. Know and and we went. Alive and so
so this at the ranch here where we, are big o.
Ranch there's the building AND i guess a courtyard and
(02:27:53):
then we're in another building and and so the reflection
of the sun is a beautiful day. Here it's it's
hitting that the tin roof and then coming right at
me and hitting my. Forehead that's What adler was referring.
Speaker 4 (02:28:05):
To it looks like There's Greg rick on the, edges
the white.
Speaker 1 (02:28:09):
Glowing yeah, YEAH i mean it's so bright right, now
it couldn't be it could be any brighter hitting.
Speaker 3 (02:28:14):
Me the good news Is speedy is an l ed
so he'll. Last Rick.
Speaker 1 (02:28:18):
SPEEDY i don't know if you know he's been here three. Times,
anyway he was taking us on. Tour a lot of
it BUSTED a meeting. Up, yeah they saw, us they
thought we wanted, yeah come on in second. Hand. Yeah,
Yeah Natalie fleming is is. Here she's part of the,
crew and they're gonna they're gonna bring this down a little.

was another room that we were in AND i don't
know what room it's. Called i'm coming over here by, you,
(02:29:01):
buddy and uh again uh and uh AND i didn't
know what And i'm LIKE i feel, like, hey, guys
you want to come see this room is really cool
because it was it was really tough decision on where
to where do we should broadcast? From and there was
what a staff of maybe twenty and then they were
having a good on. Me oh, yes, perfect there we.
(02:29:22):
Go that's good right, There like you look Like casper
a second. Ago that was, yeah and and and so
we disturbed them so bad that they a couple of
them got up out of the meeting and came up
to us and, said do y'all need? Something we were
all like went as far as they said they got.
Meeting you know this when he's gonna walk in whole
(02:29:43):
court AND i was, like, hey the door's. Open he's,
Like i'll tell you.
Speaker 9 (02:29:45):
What the one TIME i was working For mile about
power and where Are, miami and this place reminds me of.
That of course we were drunk and then and THEN i,
ripped and then on my off day and we did,
THIS i got, yeah and you, know drop had it.
Off of Course i've been, there.
Speaker 1 (02:30:06):
Ripped one. Again and the whole time they're in a
meeting and they hear it, all and SO i wasn't.
Speaker 3 (02:30:13):
Talking he tried to peek in there quietly and everybody busted.
Speaker 1 (02:30:17):
Him everybody looked at. Us so we're walking away else
and we looked there coming, out y'all need? Something can't
we just do anything? Right you. Can't everything we do is.
Speaker 3 (02:30:24):
Wrong you see that we almost broadcast in that.
Speaker 1 (02:30:28):

Speaker 1 (02:30:43):

Speaker 4 (02:31:07):
Need we were about to?
Speaker 1 (02:31:08):
Pray, oh, Yeah so it was a very uncomfortable. Moment
AND i would, like, Like greg doesn't, pray. Ma'am, yeah
your mic away on the, road you sense or. Something
he's never you, know.
Speaker 3 (02:31:27):
Feeding.
Speaker 1 (02:31:27):
Off he's never been in the, energy, yeah you.
Speaker 3 (02:31:32):
Know AND i also think he doesn't feel.
Speaker 2 (02:31:34):
The burden of the tremendous amount of work has to
do every day. Here it's almost like he's not gonna
have to do those.
Speaker 1 (02:31:38):
Things also go. Back, also we met a real, Cowboy
