are going to be happening on the show today, Lord Willie.
First of all, it is the week of Love, Valentine's Day, Fellas,
here it comes Friday. Speedy nine have kind of walked

(02:00):
so me not so well, Speedy pretty good. We hope
through having two different things on Valentine's Week, I have
an anniversary in Valentine. Speedy has a wife's birthday this year.
A biggie A biggie is it today? Oh my gosh, yeah, sure,
a big one. Yeah we'll hold that. That's a big, big, big, Sorry, buddy,

(02:23):
you got a lot on you today. Yeah, okay, so
then you turn right around and here comes Friday. But anyways,
so since it is the week of love, you know,
we've put together something special today and and we'll play
it probably the rest of the week because I think
we I think we're gonna have a hard time getting
enough of it.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Well, if folks want to order it, they got to
do yeah, they got to know.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Yeah, So we'll we'll do that and that's funny. Uh So,
So anyway, we'll we'll talk about that today and we'll
play that for you. Jeff Strucker will be our guests.
And you know, Jeff's one of those people. Well, I
mean he's in the the Army Rangers Hall of Fame. Okay,
there's one thing of being a ranger and then being

(03:07):
a Ranger in the Hall of Fame. Yeah, next level,
next level. He is highly decorated, highly highly decorated American hero.
Probably most of us know this part and it's only
a small part of his military career, but you know,
he was portrayed in the movie Black Hawk Down. He

(03:27):
was in Is it Mogadishu? Am I saying that? Yeah,
and involved in that debacle and heroic, so heroic. But
he is also now out because he is a follower
of Christ and he's out speaking at men's events everywhere.
And we have the honor of having him as part
of our lineup when we get to Dakoula, Georgia, right

(03:50):
outside of Atlanta, coming up on February twenty eighth. In
March one, you know, we have two Mantritch conferences coming
up next week next weekend Panama City, than the weekend
after that the Atlanta area and Strooker will be in
the lineup for the Atlanta Man Church conference. So we'll
talk to him today. Incredible, incredible man uh and talk

(04:12):
to you, hey, if you've never heard him speak. We
we get down to business. My kind of guy. So
so we'll talk to down at you. You better be
looking back. Yeah, we'll we'll we'll talk to him today. Honestly,
I'll just be real weedy. It's one of these things.
This is the kind of guy that we're all on
our toes. We don't want to because if we do

(04:33):
anything goofy he He's going to be like, what a
bunch of Yahoo's, right, I don't I don't want him
to see us as a bunch of Yahoo's day, but
we are a bunch of Yaho's. That's gonna be tough,
it is.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
And when we booked him, we got confirmation that that
it's on his schedule, but not to be a bip
and you don't want to come in too hot prior
to even though I want, I'd love that piece of
mind knowing yeah we're good, but I know he is,
So I don't want to reach back out and bothering
because then I'd be disrespecting with what you don't think
I put it down?

Speaker 1 (05:03):
You think I don't have this covered? Yeah? Yeah, did
I confirm with you? Yes, sir? But then why are
you looking at? Why are you doing this? Yeah? Do
you go to a highly decorated Army ranger and say
I just won't be sure you remember you're on the
show today.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
Yeah, if you say, like recon confirmation Alpha Delta from
Dublin in there?

Speaker 1 (05:26):
What's going in there?

Speaker 5 (05:27):
I think I needed to go to a doctor.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Really, Yeah, maybe about two weeks ago.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
Yeah, So it's been busy, super Bowl all that, that's true,
So busy on a Sunday. I actually didn't have the party.
I'm glad it was such a dud. That halftime was
a dud, The game was a dud. I'm glad I
didn't have that.

Speaker 5 (05:45):
Plus I was sick.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Party would have been I thought you had gotten better
are you now backwors agan?

Speaker 5 (05:50):
I think I backslid.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
Yeah, all right, thank you. Do not shake Eddler's hands.

Speaker 5 (05:55):
No, it is. It is a sign. I need signus surgery.

Speaker 4 (05:58):
Remember I broke my nose at the the Metal Show
show I didn't remember, and then I had sign of
surgery like over a decade ago. Well that tissue can regrow,
and it's regrown and it's all closed up again, like
a gopher hole that's.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Clogged or well, you sound fantastic.

Speaker 5 (06:15):
Sounds so good and happy.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
Speaking of getting beat up in the pit at a
metal show, I saw some video the other day. You know,
I'll just scan on YouTube and look at their stuff,
and uh, they now they swing their fists like this
like round here, you know about karate kicks, and it's
like they're just completely out of control and Wae's nuts
and they're just hammering people in that face. But why

(06:38):
it's dancing?

Speaker 5 (06:40):
What is it slam?

Speaker 1 (06:41):
You used toning there doing this?

Speaker 5 (06:43):
You know?

Speaker 1 (06:44):
Yeah, they start this wind meal and people getting just
knocked out. I don't understand the song.

Speaker 5 (06:54):
It's a festival of geniuses.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
Whatever happened to just snapping your fingers?

Speaker 5 (06:59):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (07:00):
See I can't exaggerate. How enough enough of hot look.

Speaker 5 (07:03):
Tapping your toe to the beat. What happened to you?

Speaker 1 (07:06):
That's a great boy, buddy. Uh So we'll work through
the stories of the day. Trump administration. Wow, still still
a lot, I mean, still winning. Just I mean he's
in by tired of winning. I mean just the winning continues.
Pound that Russian prisons, Yeah, he said, Trump's a heroes.

(07:27):
Biden couldn't get him out. Heads up to people going
to Russia. Even if you have a medical card. They're
not big on marijuana. No, they're not like you. They'll
lock you up. No, they do not like Mary Jane.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
Your yes, especially if you're a famous lesbian basketball player.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
Thank you, Adler.

Speaker 5 (07:42):
Understand how much leverage that buys you in America.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
I know if Brittany was here, she would say, thank
you very much.

Speaker 5 (07:48):
Sound the same, Thanks a lot, Chris.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
So so anyway, we we have that, we'll we'll we'll
get an update on all the winning that's going on.
New Wednesday Bible study to day starts at noon Central
one o'clock Eastern. There's a lot to unpack, and right
out of the gate, we go to the Book of Job,
a much discussed book of the Bible and one of

(08:12):
the clearest pictures on suffering that we find a lot
of answers are there now. They may be answers that
sometimes we don't want to hear or see, but they
are there and we'll jump into that today on installment
number one in chapter one of the Book of Job.
That's noon Central, one o'clock Eastern on the YouTube channel.
If you don't catch it live, the archive is available

(08:34):
soon after on our YouTube channel and our podcast channel.
So the table is set there, it is. We'll jump
into all this today and much more that we were
not able to get to in that small segment. So
thank you for being with us. And big birthday wish
coming today too for Terry Wilburn. It's a big one.

(08:59):
It is. What are you more nervous about that? Or
whether Jeff Stricker is going to be on? Oh, Jeff Stricker,
for sure, we'll be back.

Speaker 6 (09:06):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
We've all been there. We've all been there. Hey, I
have a service, I mean I need it. What are
my options the only options I have available? Or all
these companies that seem to just I feel like I'm
giving my money to the woke. I feel like I'm
giving my money to things I don't believe in. Did
you know when it comes to your cell service, you

(09:34):
don't have to do that anymore. Look, I know when
you think about, you know, giving your money to some
of these cell companies. What if I told you right
now that you could be with America's only Christian conservative
wireless provider, Patriot Mobile.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
They offer a way to also vote with your wallet
even though you might have won the election. But you
also can vote with your wallet without compromising on quality
or convenience. And that's important. We're not going to ask you, hey,
go support this company because they believe what you believe,
but it's not as good. No, you're not going to
compromise quality. You're not going to compromise coverage. Patriot Mobile

(10:14):
isn't just about providing exceptional cel phone service. It's also
a call to action to defend rights and freedoms. Now,
with Patriot Mobile, you get outstanding nationwide coverage because they
operate on all three major networks. Now, if you have
a cell phone, you know, if you have a cell
phone and it has service today, you go to Patriot Mobile,
You'll still you have the same service. You get cell

(10:34):
phone service with Patriot Mobile with a coverage guarantee. Now
here's the difference. Every dollar you spend is going to
support the First and second Amendments, the sanctity of life,
the veterans, first responders, and switching could not be easier.
Keep your number, fine, no problem, keep your phone, that's okay.
Do you want to upgrade? They make that easy too.
They're one hundred percent US based customer support team is

(10:55):
going to help you do that, and they'll help you
find the perfect plan for you. So is a choice.
Patriotmobile dot com slash rick are called nine seven to
two Patriot and get a free month of service with
the promo code. Rick switched today to Patriot Mobile at
Patriot Mobile dot com slash Rick. I just it seems

(11:20):
a little, just a little off. Jelly Row sets his
sights on a half marathon after and here's where I question,
after running his first five k running walking? Did he
run part of it? Probably thirty ten like you're talking about. Still,
I mean, he's making progress. He's making progress. And it

(11:44):
wasn't just kind of large. He's forty. Now, by the way,
let's celebrate Jelly he was And no, he sent me
in watching. I just want us to stay because we're
in the world now, we're you know, we don't really
live in the real world anymore, and we'll just say things. Yeah,
here's another one. I I think I'd like to have
been there. He explained that he recently climbed the mountain

(12:08):
Kim Jung right, and he said, he said, I wouldn't
have been able to do that before losing weight, didn't Congratulations,
I would like to see the mountain. That just curious. Still,
I'm still proud of him, no matter if it's a Mohill.
I hiked him ountain the other day and he called
the mountain and I'm not familiar with it in Arizona Camelback.

(12:29):
Oh okay, so I but but again, I think I
would have liked to have seen if the word climbed, hiking,
running the height, Yeah, I did some hiking and it
wasn't all on level ground. It's no adventure running. Yeah no,
he he says. And now I do agree with this. Hey, Jelly,

(12:50):
I know the struggle brother, he said. It is a struggle.
It's not always easy to maintain a positive outlook. Hey,
I bet Hey, I know I know of the struggle
brother I do. And he says that that people motivate
him to keep going. I found that to be true too, apparently. No, no,
we're not not. I just I just want to be sure.

(13:13):
I think it's okay to say, which this we can
say congratulations, no doubt. I'm doing a little better and
I've dropped substantial weight. Yeah, and I've addressed my health problems.
And he's moving more than he's ever moved, and he's
really moving forward. Oh my goodness, A big dank, big dan,

(13:37):
big Dank's not into this. She just wants you to
get her bigger chairs and bigger automobile.

Speaker 5 (13:42):
Know that Brandon Lake and Jelly Roll did a collaboration.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
That's a really good song.

Speaker 5 (13:47):
I didn't know that.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
So so see this is the we knew something you
didn't know. Huh, I didn't know that.

Speaker 5 (13:51):
I just fround this out.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
Here's the kind of inconsistency that I'm talking about.

Speaker 5 (13:55):
So here he is we sounded like this all day speed.
I'm sorry.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
Here he is talking to Pat McAfee back in November.
Here here's how he described it himself. Which I think
that's a more reliable source. Right, I'm down one hundred
and twenty pounds. Congratulations, Jelly, which is at which means
one hundred and ten. But okay, I'm down one hundred
and twenty pounds. Okay. On tour, I have been playing

(14:20):
basketball and these are Jelly's on words and going for walks. Okay,
And that's all good and that's great. I have a
nutritionist with me on tour. By the way, that's a
big You can never outwork bad eating. Tried it, imagine
trying to try it healthy on tour, yeah, no way.
So so anyway, so he's just moving, just keep moving.

(14:42):
He just keep doing. Hey, Jelly, if people want to
say things like you're running something and you're climbing something,
that's okay. What what you're doing is working, and we
applaud you and congratulations, and how about this, don't stop,
don't go back, keep going. You know, it's any it's
such a better life when you drop that way. You know,

(15:03):
Jelly is the character. He's a character. And when I
first saw him, I thought, well, that's interesting. It doesn't
look much like a star singer normally, which was kind
of refreshing. He's got some really good songs, yes he does.
And every time you see interviews or even when he
was the mentor on the Uh maybe it was American.
I it was one of them, the voice or something,

(15:23):
one of them. It seems like a really nice person.
Yes he does, you know. I think he would fit
in nicely here.

Speaker 5 (15:29):
He seems very.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
Genuine Yeah, exactly, and really appreciates where he's at and
knows that. Wow, yep does does anybody with these internet
guys that blew up on the internet people nowadays? Like, Hey,
I kind of like that. And I like the honesty
of his songs even and I know some people misunderstand
what he's saying, but I really dove deep into because
I actually like his music and I was listening to

(15:52):
his lyrics. He really is being very very honest about
our struggles spiritually too. How we treat Jesus. We only
we only go to him when we need him, you know.
And hey, I admit that I do that too. And uh,
and sometimes I veer off in the things that kill me.
I find myself wanting them more than I know what's right.

(16:12):
I mean, this is all this is all real stuff, man,
it really really is.

Speaker 4 (16:17):
Can we hear like four seconds of their that Brandon
Lake song he's never heard it.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
He's never heard. Why why is he obsessed with it?

Speaker 5 (16:25):
Brandon Lake's a legit Christian artist.

Speaker 1 (16:27):
Right yeah, And that was my next question. Where's jelly spiritually?
Is he working on that too? I think he seems
to be. He seems to be.

Speaker 4 (16:34):
I think he's a Christian. But I think Brandon Lake's
theology mixed with jelly rolls soul as a as some
potential here. This is hard fought hallelujah e.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
Sounds. I like that a lot comes were pushing for that. That,
Oh that's good and markllelujah, that's really good. Well, I
like that a lot like that. I could like that

(17:10):
for just one day.

Speaker 4 (17:11):
Yeah, that's how I talked about you.

Speaker 1 (17:14):
Know what's fun? Man of a thousand voices? Your jelly
roll needs to want an interview with him. And he
was a rapper. He didn't even know he could sing,
yeah joke. He said he came from a long line
of people who can't sing, right yeah, and he had
no idea that he could actually sing. No, his style
of voice is what I usually like better anyway. Now
we do have what we call the Kanye rule here.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
I know we can we can't go too far He's
got to be careful.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
Jelly's not ready to be in the pool fit everybody.
Let's let's walk down now the Kanye anything. We need
to really look hard. We were all so excited. Look,
I know, jealous, kind of make a turn. I know
Jelly could get a lot of people to our conference,
but hang on, just to say, way, everybody, easy, if
we want to interview that other people will unpackt the

(18:01):
word of God and let him tell us where he is.
I'm good with that, but let's not turn him loose
now right. He's not ready for that. Wow. No, No,
I will tell you this speaking now much much. You know,
I'm not even in these people's league. But the fact
that we're in the entertainment business. When I publicly started
talking about that, I finally made a radical change in

(18:23):
my life spiritually. But I'm talking about and still still growing,
still growing. But at the time, I mean, I was
a spiritual infant, and because of the show, people gave
me opportunities that I wasn't ready for. And I remember
trying to get up and I was telling what had
happened in my life. That part I knew, which is fine,

(18:45):
but I remember that and I remember where I was,
and she did this because she loved me. There was
an older woman who was standing in line talking to me,
and she came up to me. She said, I want
you to know I'm very very excited about this changing
your life, and I'm praying for you. But I just
want to tell you something that I think you need

(19:05):
to hear. And I said, yes, ma'am, and she said,
I do think this is from the Lord. And I
said okay. And she said, you need to know the
Bible better. You don't know the Bible well enough to
be teaching the Bible. And she was right, and I
was like, and I appreciated her telling me that, and
I started working on that because those people that a

(19:26):
lot of times in entertainment, especially secular entertainment, that have
a platform when they come out and we should celebrate. Hey,
I'm now I'm redeemed, and I'm I'm making this profession
of my faith. Sometimes we rush the babies out there
in the battlefield a little quick and let them let
them take the word of God. Sometimes their theology is

(19:46):
not quite right yet because they haven't learned it, you know,
I mean, there's a lot to learn. Uh, And you know,
we need to we need to probably let that sanctification process, Uh,
you know work a little longer, you know. And I
have no problem with this song. That's not what I'm
talking about. But let's let's I think it's great because
he's there with another person who's further along with him.
But let's just you know, let's let's slow walk.

Speaker 5 (20:06):
You know.

Speaker 1 (20:06):
We we've we've made this mistake in the past as
the church, and let's not make it again.

Speaker 7 (20:11):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
We'll be back fifteen minutes to the top of the hour.

Speaker 4 (20:15):
Does Kanye know that that Jesus was Jewish? Because apparently
not know, My goodness.

Speaker 1 (20:28):
We'll be back more of the Rick Burgess Show rolling
along right after this.

Speaker 6 (20:36):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, So that is out there.

Speaker 1 (20:46):
Some of your phone calls coming up Wednesday, Bible study
back today we start the Book of Job so that'll
be installment number one. I also want to pass along
something coming up next week. I've talked told you about
the Man Church conferences, so we're keeping you informed about that,
but I do want to talk about another opportunity that
I have coming up next week. Uh. And I have
the opportunity to go to Beautiful Lexington, South Carolina. Uh,

(21:10):
and honored to be asked to be the speaker.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (21:13):
They're at north Side Baptist Church for their sportsman's banquet
and play a little ball and you know, the hunt
a little bit worth. But anyway, so I'm I'm honored
to be there north Side Baptist Church. I'm hearing for
some of you in speedy You're going to be you
and Andy, Andy Blanks and less and all that. Guess

(21:33):
what somebody sent me an email yesterday? What hey, man,
I'm going to be in Lexington, South Carolina. Look forward
to to be in there. And I was honored to
hear that. Don't say it? Hey, you are you gonna
have any copies of that book about your dad? No,
no you're not. No men men don't run in the rain.
And I was like, no, that's just for the conferences.
Oh I thought I thought it was I thought it
was out. Sorry guys, see the confusion. Rick, I know

(21:56):
YE couldn't help it. Yes, so the answers, no there,
but if you come to one of the man Chart conferences,
you can get in advanced copy until they run out
because I won't stop talking about it. But anyway, so.

Speaker 4 (22:08):
About your dad a lot yesterday, Rick, because it was raining. Yeah,
I had a lot of errands to do.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
I didn't run. I didn't either tell you what was
talking about it?

Speaker 5 (22:16):
That rain was cold, Yes, it was coming down hard.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
You run.

Speaker 5 (22:21):
I didn't run. I didn't run.

Speaker 1 (22:23):
Scared, Terry ran, I walked. I took my shirt off,
stood in it. I walked the whole time. I didn't
even pick up. I didn't even pick up. I didn't
even pick up my tempo. Jeff Strucker runs, I ran,
friend of the I ran, I was getting gas.

Speaker 5 (22:39):
I ran. I'm sorry, coach, but.

Speaker 1 (22:46):
He's looking to heaven.

Speaker 4 (22:49):
I thought of him yesterday and I was like, he's
so disappointing. He is one of those times I was
holding a four year old girl who was freaking out
because of the rain.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
Let me tell you, let me tell you what they're
trying to help. Well, he doesn't count, doesn't count, just
like his son sitting over here. I'll tell you one
thing about old Bill Burgess children. That was a whole different.
They did had let yeah, so that that was different
except Greg and me when we were children. I'm talking
about other people children and our sisters. Y'all children, not

(23:26):
the two of us, that is two sons, we didn't
seem to be able to penetrate that hard heart.

Speaker 3 (23:31):
Well, you know, we've talked about how your dad impacted
the players and everything, and I brought this up a lot.
But former player JJ Prewett, who also works with the
Fox affiliate in Birmingham and we do events with him
all the time.

Speaker 1 (23:44):
He works the Birmingham Bowl.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
UH and Vandy and Georgia Tech were there and backed
in the Bowl season and there was weather that came
in and every time I see him and it's raining,
he's walking and he mentioned your dad every time, every time,
every time, and and it was another situation there where
we had rain come in.

Speaker 1 (24:02):
He's like, I'm not running. Well, I'm walking now. Sometimes
it's raining pretty hard. You have to fight. Yeah, well no,
And we have a friend same way. And now Dad
didn't know this. He would never said this in front
of Dad. But Dad's nickname when he played ball was
Bullet and and and some of the other some of
the guys from that era still call him bullet. That

(24:24):
ord that come from him throwing the hat. He had
a nickname. I don't remember. But but some of the
old old work they called him bullet and and so
we of course knew that. And we had a friend
that like many you know, it was one of these things.
And Greg and I never you'll see this. I was
gonna say, you'll see this in the book. But the
but Greg and I and don't ever think and it's

(24:45):
one thing we always try to clear up. Don't ever
think that Greg and I had some sort of we
missed out on something whatever. You know. I bet it
was tough sharing your dad with all these people. No,
it really wouldn't. He lost the way he haund it,
but we did. He was a dad to many people,
not just to us, and but that was fine. It
was no, he didn't neglect us or anything like that.
We feel like everybody's got a sister or dad and

(25:06):
sometimes we don't none of that. We ain't got any
dady issues. Okay, Now we may be strange because our
dad was apparently was not normal, and we thought we
were raised normal. But we never had any sort of
you know, sit down, let me talk up my daddy
issues with somebody, because we were way more scared of mom.
We were him absolutely, and his dad's balance of all
this was just he did it perfectly. I mean, he's

(25:29):
not a perfect man, don't hear me say that. But
as far as the way you handle the things that
would normally be obstacles, he didn't let him become obstacles.
He coached us that was not a big deal. Didn't
talk about it at home. Now, so anyway, we didn't
have He wasn't our coach at home and all that garbage.
But anyway, so I'd still be mad. But remember our
friend who he was a father figure too. Would would

(25:50):
He said to this day, he said, I won't. I
won't run in the rain. And he calls it pulling
a bullet. He pull a bullet. He goes, look when
that rain comes, he goes, I'm I pulled a bullet
all the way to the car and uh. And he
was one of the first ones that brought it to
my attention when we were little boys. He was kind
of like, you know, I remember looking like he's not
even he's not even picking up a tempo, you know,

(26:10):
and you get real wet doing that, right, you will.
So so anyway that I'm sorry that you did run,
and I'm glad you thought about Dad though I jogged.
But but I think that Dad I think Dad would
have given you a pass if you had your little girl.

Speaker 5 (26:25):
I was one of four times.

Speaker 1 (26:26):
Okay did you run without her?

Speaker 4 (26:29):
Jogged lightly slowly, manly in with a in a man
type way.

Speaker 1 (26:35):
Okay, like like looking like a panic. I'm scared you
didn't look frantic, did you know. I think that's the
whole thing that Dad's message was, don't look frantic.

Speaker 5 (26:48):
That's that's that's wisdom.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
And you got to run a mile, right, that's full mile,
got some gold, don't stop. I'm afraid it goes into
that other theme of Dad's You can't worry about that,
Yeah you can. Yeah, yeah, that was a great takeaway too.
I can't tell you how many times if people tell
me this all the time, I'll be doing something else
and I'll think about you, and I'll go, you can't

(27:11):
worry about that. I mean, if you spend your whole life,
every every little thing is is something you gotta you
can't get past. You gotta get to the point where
you go, I got to get the job done, and
the things that are making me getting the job done difficult.
I just can't worry about that. Right. That doesn't mean
you can't get back to it. But you can't worry
about right now that right that has example of standing
in that bed. I thought it was extreme. Yeah, you
know that's what I'm talking about. Yeah, you see what

(27:33):
I'm actually need to worry about that.

Speaker 5 (27:36):
Pair of knocker.

Speaker 1 (27:37):
So we'll be back Top of the Hour much to
cover the winning continues with the Trump administration. We'll give
you some updates on that. A lot of odd stories
out there again today too, well, we'll update you on that,
and of course we mentioned we also have Jeff Strucker

(27:58):
coming up a little bit later on on the program
Top of the Hour. You got the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 6 (28:05):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (28:13):
Also a lot of you putting some strange things up
there about Jelly Roll. Okay, wow, Well, I don't know
enough that I not condone it or I know. I
just thought that Jelly Row had lost a lot of
weight and tried to encourage him, and he sang a
song I thought was pretty good. I certainly don't know
anything about Jelly Row, and I don't know some of

(28:34):
the things you are accusing are even true or not.
It seems like that would be a little more prominent
out there in the record, especially if somebody invited him
to come to a Christian song, but you never know.
Sometimes some of these faith based songs you don't know
much about anyway. But anyway, thank you for all that. Also,
hear someone saying, I'm loving the new show, but I
find myself sometimes when I'm telling people about it called

(28:55):
it calling it the Rick and Burgess Show. That's fine.
Look that's close enough. We'll take that. Yeah, that's that's
definitely close enough. Some updates today coming up. We have
something that's going to take your Valentine's weekend. I think
it's gonna turn in on to die, you know. So
we've got that coming up. Speedy's he's, look, we're Speedy's
got a lot going on today. It's his wife's birthday

(29:17):
and it's one of those Biggies five O today, so
he's got that on him and Valentine's Day. So Speedy's
he's he's got two things that he's really worried about today.
Everything going well with his wife's birthday and whether Jeff
Strucker will be on or not. Right, those those are
the two things that we got to go in chronological ord.
I can just see it hanging over with you. Yeah,
it is.

Speaker 3 (29:36):
I started the morning early. When the alarm went off,
there was no snooze and I had.

Speaker 1 (29:42):
To get up.

Speaker 3 (29:43):
You better go and get and get better go because
at nine minutes, that's you can get a lot done
in nine minutes. And I had gone and and gotten
her some balloons yesterday, and you to can't have nothing.
I mean, there are fiftieth you know, birthday balloons like that,
and I hit them in a room yesterday. Did you

(30:03):
that I got got a little you know, the little
weight and the little string and all this kind of
shair you got. I hit them over in the corner
because I knew she she was going to come in.
She worked late. She was getting home at dinner time.
And I'm like, she's not gonna come go venture off
in room. So I'm just gonna put put them over
in the corner. And the gifts I got her, I
put them in the corner too, with the idea that

(30:23):
I would wake up early, go grab all that, set
everything up in the kitchen and I'm out. You know,
she sees it when she wakes up, and she was
she she wakes up to this, you know, happy birthday
and all this, and uh, I go up there and
and all the balloons were laying on the floor. They
had lost I don't know, I guess the helium and stuff.
They had lost everything. They were still blown up, but
they weren't they weren't floating.

Speaker 1 (30:44):
They weren't floating there laying on the floor like theytay
hour out. So in a panic, got m like, well,
now what do I do?

Speaker 3 (30:49):
I can't just have balloons just laying all over the
kitchen floor, you know. And so so I cut the string, uh,
and then put the weight down and then put them
all on the countertop, like they were all sitting on
the counter okay, you know.

Speaker 1 (31:03):
And then I.

Speaker 3 (31:03):
Got like this happy fiftieth string, and I'm hanging I'm
up on a ladder in the kitchen, trying to hang
everything up, you know.

Speaker 1 (31:09):
Really expecting those balloons to last longer than that.

Speaker 5 (31:11):
I know.

Speaker 1 (31:12):
It was just like overnight.

Speaker 3 (31:14):
And so I emailed Adler earlier a picture of and
we can get into it doesn't have to be now,
but of kind of what it looks like. And then
the swag moms Terry's all of her little best friends,
the ladies, and there's about one, two, three, four, five, six,
about eight or nine and they get together all the
time and celebrate each everybody's birthday.

Speaker 1 (31:37):
They might have a dinner or something like that. And
I got her.

Speaker 3 (31:41):
And so they had got a company and you know
the ones that come up and set up in your
yard and they're like happy fiftieth or whatever, and then
they put stuff all in the yard. Well, they did
that late last night. And Stacy, one of the ladies
that the swag mom is swagmom. Of course she said, hey,
do don't shoot anybody. You're gonna hear some activity late
tonight outside your house, you know, just as a joke.

Speaker 5 (32:03):
But yeah, sure, my goodness, look at this.

Speaker 1 (32:07):
Yeah, And so I woke up. I woke up to
that wag Mom.

Speaker 3 (32:12):
Swag Moms had hired the company that does this, and
they no, I didn't do this, No, they did. They
organized this. But they had sent me about a month
ago heads up, Hey we've ordered this.

Speaker 1 (32:23):
This will happen this day. You know. Well we knew
you didn't pay.

Speaker 5 (32:26):
For it, so you had nothing to do with well,
no I pay No.

Speaker 1 (32:29):
This was just a nice gesture. You pay for this,
you swag.

Speaker 3 (32:32):
No, the swag Moms did, and they always do that.
They like if it's somebody else's birthday.

Speaker 1 (32:37):
They all pitch and you take credit for it. No, no, no, no,
not at all. No, I'm actually talking about it now,
I know.

Speaker 3 (32:43):
But yeah, I think you're you don't think you're here now,
only on the inside.

Speaker 1 (32:49):
I mean I did all and that took You know
what she will like about that, all kid in the sign? Uh,
is that you that took effort? You know you did.
You made it special. Now that not look as big
an extravaganza as what's in the yard. No it doesn't.
I'll give you that now.

Speaker 3 (33:04):
But your effort. Yeah, the balloons were a handle. I
was kind of like, oh no, this is not good.

Speaker 1 (33:10):
Balloons need to be guaranteed the last I.

Speaker 5 (33:12):
Know the day.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (33:15):
So that little fiftieth birthday thing, it's one of those
little sashes.

Speaker 1 (33:19):
I guess that's what they call it should be the queen. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
And so today a very famous restaurant, they're having an
office birthday party for Terry and Jonathan, who also works
in the office.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
Is kind of a joint deal. And I've told Terry
she has to wear the sash. Absolutely. She says, it's
my fiftieth. Absolutely, and she can't believe it.

Speaker 3 (33:39):
When I kissed her last night, right before bed time,
I said, this will be the last kiss before fifty.

Speaker 1 (33:44):
Everything else to be post fifty.

Speaker 3 (33:48):
She was last night we were running around and she's like,
I can't believe this. This sounds so weird to think
I'm fifty years old. Yeah, it's just a number, honey, five,
It's just a number.

Speaker 1 (33:59):
You blow up passed it. Yes, yeah, I made the
mistake on Sherry's fifty. Then I would not advise this.
Right down that same line, I said, I'm coming forward this.
I ain't never made that with a fifty year old. Yeah.
That didn't land the way I hoped it would. No,
not at all. Yeah. I think we had like a party.
I think yes we did. Remember oh yes, fifty we

(34:21):
had to get on and do a little bit. I
think she had some kind of crown on or something. So, yeah,
you did you frontwards moonwalk? I sure did. Really, Yeah,
you gonna do that? Well?

Speaker 3 (34:30):
I did get you guys, And I'm trying to just
just overload the story with Happy birthday to Terry. Each
one of you cut some video for you, and I
appreciate that. Of course, Adler's was pretty funny. It is,
uh and and Greg had declared that if he makes
the shot he was in front of the basketball gold,
then he'll wish your happy birthday. He missed, and but
I went ahead wish and you wish went ahead anyway,

(34:51):
and then I would never.

Speaker 1 (34:52):
Got to because I have kept missing. She'd been fifty
one by the time. People are wondering on the text.
Now you didn't get like you know how some people get
day old bread it's cheaper. You didn't get like balloon
balloons that you got the displaying.

Speaker 3 (35:06):
I got the balloons they offered, right, and that was
going out of business selling. But I mean, yeah, balloons.
They were in the package. And then they they used
the little machuree.

Speaker 8 (35:19):
And you're talking didn't even make it through the night, no,
And I mean they're just they're just there's they're just
waving so pretty, you know, and it's got a union
gets confetti inside the balloon and all that, and I'm like, man.

Speaker 1 (35:32):
This is awesome. You went all out. And then uh
then I walked up there and they're laying on the carpet.

Speaker 3 (35:37):
I'm like, what the you can't have I almost started
kicking them, but in a panic, I cut the string
and you know they sell the little little decorated ways
or something, and and and to where they wouldn't blow off,
and that was that was a handle.

Speaker 1 (35:53):
Smart.

Speaker 5 (35:53):
Yeah, that's the dog.

Speaker 1 (35:56):
Great effort, great effort, good display, balloon around.

Speaker 3 (36:00):
Anyway, we'll have a good time. So but I think
the day has started good. I'm trying to overwhelm her.

Speaker 1 (36:04):
Early it didn't even feel like you're celebrating Valentine.

Speaker 3 (36:08):
So one thing that I have fumbled is that we're
having a big lunch. But do I take her to
dinner too?

Speaker 1 (36:15):
Or do we who's buying lunch? Huh, oh not me.

Speaker 6 (36:19):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
So a couple of things I'm dealing with America. So
we keep winning. Elon Musk and it is it doge
so how you say it? The Department of Government Efficiency.
It's a good ex follow by the way, there's a
lot going on there. So Elon Musk was in the

(36:47):
Oval Office with President Trump yesterday, and it is interesting
to watch all the government waste that Elon's team is finding,
watching some politicians act like this is a bad thing.
And then as we heard yesterday, to the point that
we even have some and I use the term minister
loosely ministers out there telling their congregation that Elon Musk

(37:09):
is going to get their Social Security check. Of course
that's not true. But anyway, here is Elon Musk in
the Oval office. Uh, and he's he's been doing Trump's
doing some executive order signing too, but acting there with him.
It is he's got one of his kids with him, exactly.
And the kid is not any kid that age. He's

(37:30):
you know, he's probably bored with this, but a few kids. Yeah,
I got elnt handed it well because he's crawling all
over him. So here, here, here we go.

Speaker 7 (37:37):
If there's not a good feedback from the people to
the government, and if you have the rule of the bureaucraft,
if the bureaucracy is in charge, and then what meaning
does democracy actually have. If the people cannot vote, I'd
hope they will be decided by their elected representatives in
the form of the President and the Senate in the House,

(38:00):
then we don't live in a democracy. We live in
a bureaucracy. So it's incredibly important that we close that feedback.
We fix that feedback group and at the public, the
public's elected representatives, the President of the House and the Senate,
we decide what happens as opposed to a large unelected bureaucracy.

Speaker 1 (38:19):
Thank you, Yeah, absolutely right. Lizard man Greg, I know
you're concerned.

Speaker 5 (38:25):
He's not a lizard, Greg, he was autistic. He's not
a lizard.

Speaker 1 (38:30):
So now we go to this next one. And this
is the thing about the people's voice. And I love
what sagging little Greg. I know he concerns you, and
that is once we elect these people, that's our voice.
But we also need to have a say on how
our tax money is spent. And I know some of

(38:50):
this there has to be a trust and a faith
in the system. But when Elon Musk and his team,
which I don't know why we're just now doing this,
goes in and says, well, we have uncovered how your
money is being spent, and you sent us here to
resolve that. So we're going to so listen what Elon
Musk says, this is what the people told us to do,

(39:11):
so here he is.

Speaker 7 (39:13):
The people voted for major govement reform. There should be
no doubt about that. That was on the campaign. The
President spoke about that at every rally. The people voted
for major government reform. And that's what people are going
to get. They're going to get what they voted for.
And a lot of times that you know people that
don't get what they voted for, but in this presidency,

(39:35):
they are going to get what they voted for.

Speaker 1 (39:36):
And that's what democracy is all about.

Speaker 5 (39:38):
Well, I'm talking about that's it.

Speaker 1 (39:40):
So now let's look at some of the things that
have been exposed. So the Trump and Elon Musk cutting
up this team, they've exposed that the X and I'm
glad that that it's X. Now, USAID Chief Samantha Power
had accumulated a thirty million dollar net worth over a

(40:01):
matter of years when her salary, Greg you pointed this
years ago. Her salary is one hundred and eighty thousand.
It's a good salary, but that's really not enough to
have accumulated thirty million dollars in that short amount of time.
So here here is the update on that.

Speaker 3 (40:17):
And also, could you mention some of the things that
your team has found, some of the crazy numbers, including
the woman that walked her over with about thirty million.

Speaker 7 (40:27):
Right, Well, we often we do find it sort of
rather odd that, you know, there are quite a few
people in the predocracy who have ostensibly a salary for
a few hundred thousand dollars, but somehow managed to accrue
tens of millions of dollars in net worth while they
are in that position, which is, you know what happened

(40:50):
to usaid, We're just curious as to where it came from.

Speaker 5 (40:52):
Maybe they're very good at.

Speaker 7 (40:53):
Investing fate approach case, we should take their investment advice. Perhaps,
but just seems to be mysteriously they get wealthy.

Speaker 1 (41:02):
You we're done.

Speaker 7 (41:02):
Why where did it come from? And I think the
reality is that they're getting wealthy to touch their expense.

Speaker 1 (41:09):
That's so yeah, yeah, it's green. All I can do
is watch his kid play. I know, Greg, we're just
trying to get the information. Shoulders. We just want the information.
I mean, I love kids, Greg, Some people in this situation,
maybe something just like a nanny. He could afford that. Yeah,
he can set to the side there.

Speaker 5 (41:27):
It's trying to be a good dad.

Speaker 1 (41:30):
At the other twelve, they wanted to come. Here we go.
So did you see anything? He said? Did you?

Speaker 5 (41:35):
Like?

Speaker 1 (41:36):
I kind of did? Did you? People are saying that
lizard is scared of him. People are saying that lizard
people are so twenty twenty four. It's crab people. Now,
Oh is it really what? I don't know that's on
the text. I do, I don't understand. Two D got
a little moth man. Uh so, so tell me about
this or what what's going on? Oh yeah, this is wild?

Speaker 5 (41:56):
Yeah, yeah, this is crazy speedy sumit sense, yes, too much.

Speaker 3 (41:59):
So he said that they can only with I guess
the federal government or whatever. He's like, there's people that
are working that need to retire. They've got great pension
they you know, will make it work their wild, but
we can only retire ten thousand at a time. And
everybody's like, well why he even asked that question, Well,

(42:19):
why only ten thousand?

Speaker 1 (42:21):
And it's because of.

Speaker 3 (42:22):
The system they use that only allows ten thousand, because
of the I guess the workforce that is pushing all
the paper and making this work. And he's talked, he
talks about how nineteen fifties it is that the system
that we use paper and here he is about it.

Speaker 7 (42:38):
The most number of people that could retire, possibly in
a month, is ten thousand.

Speaker 5 (42:42):
We're like, whoa, why is it?

Speaker 1 (42:44):
Why is that?

Speaker 7 (42:45):
Well, because all their time of paperwork is manual on
paper it's manually calculated. That written down on a piece
of paper. Then that goes down to mine, Like what
do you mean of mine? Like, yeah, there's a limestone
mine where we're still all the retirement paperwork. That look
and you look at picture of a picture of this mine.
We'll post the pictures afterwards. And this is this mine

(43:07):
looks like something out of the fifties because it was
started in nineteen fifty five, so it looks like it's
like a time warp.

Speaker 9 (43:15):
Wow.

Speaker 7 (43:15):
And then the speed, then the limiting factor is the
speed at which the mine, the shaft elevator can move.
Determines how many people can retire from the federal from
the federal government, and the elevator breaks down and said
sometimes and then you can't. Nobody can retire. It doesn't
that sound crazy? There's like a thousand people that work
on this. So I think if we take those people

(43:37):
and say, like, you know what, instead of working in
a mine shaft and carry manilla and oblopes to you know,
boxes in a mine shaft, you could do practically anything
else and you would add to the goods and services
of the United States in a more useful way.

Speaker 3 (43:54):
And at DOJGE on X He said they were going
to post picture and they did of the entrance to
the shaft and then where it is and how you
store it and all this kind of stuff. But apparently
because it's not digital, it's all paperwork, only ten thousand
can retire them.

Speaker 5 (44:12):
That that's insane.

Speaker 1 (44:13):
Well, so many things with the government is so outdated.
I've had accountants tell me this when dealing with taxes
and all of that, and I think it's so refreshing.
No matter how you feel, this should be something that's
so bipartisan. It's time for we the people to get
the information from the government and demand that they be

(44:33):
more efficient with our tax money that we go out
and earn. And they take that's a bipartisan comment. We
should all and people are putting on the text option.
Listen to how quiet the press is. I think they're
stunned and they don't even know what to do with
this information. And this Speedy said, if you follow them

(44:55):
on X they're putting out every time they discover waste.
If it doesn't anger you, no matter your politics, it
should anger all of us. The things that this Department
of Government Efficiency is finding out on behalf of the
people Republican Democrat independent on behalf of the people. We

(45:16):
should all demand that our tax dollars not be squandered,
not be pocketed. And if there's a way that we
could get ourselves out of this incredible debt, and one
way to put a den in it is just be
efficient as the government. We as we've said a thousand times,
you've heard people say, we do not have a revenue

(45:38):
problem with our federal government. We've got a spending and
efficiency problem. And this is being really really brought out
into the light right now and we should all be
thankful for that.

Speaker 3 (45:52):
He said that they discovered that folks that are one
hundred and fifty years old are getting Social Security payments
one hundred and fifty.

Speaker 1 (46:00):
Say, we can't have that, let's just waste.

Speaker 3 (46:03):
Somebody that watched mail come in received one point five
million a year for watching the mail.

Speaker 5 (46:10):
We'll be back watching.

Speaker 6 (46:12):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (46:20):
Okay, so yeah, it is the Week of Love. We
of course celebrated an anniversary share in me on Monday.
Today we're celebrating Terry Wilburn, Speedy's wife fiftieth birthday. To day.
I'm five oh fifty affected and we talked about that
a little earlier in the program, and then for all

(46:41):
of you Valentine's Day's coming up, we also talked about
Greg's grandson pace birthday this week too. Yeah, and we've
already seen a picture of him in his new Hawk
outfit looking great. So but a lot of you are thinking,
you know, what would make Valentine's Day special?

Speaker 9 (47:00):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (47:00):
Yeah, but what could I do to just turn it around?
And we thought we might have the answer, and uh so,
just uh just stop what you're doing, Okay, what do
you to just stop and give a listen to this?

Speaker 6 (47:16):
Just in time for Valentine's Day, Big Fox Entertainment is
proud to present love songs with Gary.

Speaker 1 (47:23):
Hi.

Speaker 10 (47:24):
Maybe this Valentine you can't have.

Speaker 6 (47:26):
Some Gary the Bulldozer Man Fines the old spur Master
himself puts you in the mood for love with his
one of a kind voice.

Speaker 2 (47:35):
When I was a younger man, when I hadn't a care,
But I love.

Speaker 6 (47:42):
You, Gary Kroon's your sweetheart, with the most romantic songs
the world has ever known, Like Lionel.

Speaker 2 (47:50):
Richie, I do love you, I mean steal Little Riverband.
I'll be thinking when that I don't love you good

Rick Burgers Show coming up right after this.

Speaker 6 (53:51):
This is the Rick Burgers Show.

Speaker 1 (53:59):
We've been covering a lot of different stages of life
throughout our existence, and now we find ourselves in the world.
Adler still has small children, Greg and Speedy have grandchildren,
and then three of us have full grown, adult functioning
children out on their own. And for some reason, and

(54:19):
Speedy was talking about this, there seems to be a
little more leniency with our parents to be open about
the people that we were. And Speedy says that his dad,
he's killing you on this.

Speaker 3 (54:33):
Oh yeah, and my mom, so mom, my mom, and
my mom, Yeah, what look now? And granddaddy they love
story time And you know, you interact with your kids
and adult boys at twenty twenty three, twenty eight, and
you're talking to them and every nine and then something
comes up and you say something to them. And the

(54:56):
other day we were actually it was a it was
a Terry uh and and j C. We were all
on the phone together. He was updating this on something
which was hard to believe. We were in shock. He
was updating yes, that is shocking.

Speaker 7 (55:08):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (55:08):
And if you have a twenty three year old that's
in college, every one of you know what I'm talking about.
Absolutely Uh And he Uh, Anyway, we wrapped up, you know,
because they've got a they got a pretty extensive week.
They opened up conference play this weekend. And I know
he's you know, got class and stuff and and we
just ended the you know, wrapped it up and said,
hey man, you know, have a good week, keep working hard,
and uh, make good decisions, all right, Bud?

Speaker 1 (55:30):
He goes like what, He goes, don't worry that I
won't do anything you've done. Oh what? And I said,
what are you talking about? Whoa? I mean granddaddy? You know,
I said what what do you what about? Granddaddy? And
I said, what are you talking about? What I've heard
about some of your stories.

Speaker 3 (55:48):
And I'm like, well, I'm telling you have a good week.
They clean, you know, just build up to the weekend.

Speaker 1 (55:56):
Sure, what do you mean? He told me that the
time you got carried to the front door carry Like, wow,
what are you talking about? The line over the line
carry to the front door.

Speaker 5 (56:08):
What do you mean?

Speaker 1 (56:12):
Now here comes Terry?

Speaker 3 (56:14):
You know, she gets giggling and I'm like, everybody thinks
this is funny what you were talking about?

Speaker 1 (56:18):
I asked the question. We were injured just physically? Yeah,
I was. I couldn't walk. I was terribly.

Speaker 3 (56:24):
And then I'm talking to Reese and he had a
little getaway and they were wanting to rent, you know
how you can rent these razors or mopeds or whatever,
and then you have but you have to put your
car up for collateral, you know, because they don't want
you just riding off with that, you know, so they
want your identification, insurance information. You might even have to
put your title up for your car. Some of these places,

(56:45):
you know, they want to protect them.

Speaker 1 (56:46):
That's crazy.

Speaker 3 (56:47):
And I said, uh, we were talking and they were
about to go do something and he he said, yeah,
we're thinking about doing I said, well you be careful.
Read that fight in print.

Speaker 1 (56:56):
He goes Joe.

Speaker 3 (56:58):
And I say what he said, ran day time you
almost had the title taken from your your car because
you wrecked a moped and Panama City And I.

Speaker 1 (57:06):
Said what is he.

Speaker 3 (57:10):
And you ain't been to the door again, and he
said is that true? And they don't all talk like that,
but uh and I said, uh.

Speaker 1 (57:17):
Well yeah, I said, but everybody. I mean, he was fine, and.

Speaker 3 (57:21):
It was just a little bit of a You said,
you you cracked it almost in half because you hit
the wheel of a parked car.

Speaker 1 (57:27):
And I'm like, well, that did happen.

Speaker 3 (57:29):
But the brakes went out, you know, but back then,
back then you had to put your car up, and
they almost kept my hand to prelude. Now, only only
one light work. And I know that it was always
winking at you. But in a major handle.

Speaker 1 (57:44):
You're telling us that the the brakes went out on
the moped. Is that what you want to Is that
what you want to say? I hit the wheel the car.
It sounds like when you busted that porcelain doll, very similar.

Speaker 3 (57:58):
And and I've just realized a theme that when I
start talking to my boys about life, they always then
now we're throwing granddaddy stories on No, you can't.

Speaker 1 (58:09):
And I know my dad can't see, but he can hear.

Speaker 3 (58:11):
And I know, Dad, you hear her talking about it.
And you're a great storyteller teller, okay, And Nana.

Speaker 1 (58:19):
I know what I know about you too. She'll get
into you know, she'll she'll you know, she'll uh, she'll
go ahead and talk about you got the bees and
want oh yeah, no, yeah, she's not telling them story
I may not time I caught conta that is way

(58:43):
over the line. Don't you be making out with your girlfriend?

Speaker 3 (58:46):
You know, she'll say stuff like that and they just
think it's the funniest things. In their recliner is just
a cackling, just like, what do we do here?

Speaker 5 (58:56):
Are?

Speaker 1 (58:57):
And don't let him.

Speaker 3 (58:58):
Talk to aunt Lynn because apparently aunt Land's like Greg.
She can remember when she was three and she forgets
nothing right, and so she's got all kinds of stories,
you know, all kinds of Wait a minute, so right now,
and if they ever go down to Pensacola and hang
out with them, they come back with every story in the.

Speaker 1 (59:13):
World that is a foul, that is a mate. You
can't your mom and dad and your sister all just
and they just think it's the funniest thing ever. I mean,
but because you.

Speaker 3 (59:24):
Still don't need to go do that right from.

Speaker 1 (59:28):
The setup, though, do you see that this has grossly
increased as your sons have become young adults. Definitely, No, definitely.

Speaker 3 (59:36):
Now they're kind of and Reese is semi out on
his own. He's living with them because he's working in
hunts for but he's still comes when he comes home.
He didn't have his own place, but he's still paying
his own bills and on his own It's just he's
still kind of under But you've seen, yeah, did it.

Speaker 1 (59:53):
With your kids? The age they are now, they seem
to be more open with.

Speaker 3 (59:56):
Their stories, right, Yeah, one time, miss you should assume
stop you and you know me.

Speaker 1 (01:00:04):
If I'm ever there, I try to overpower them. You know,
you know you got.

Speaker 10 (01:00:12):
You gotta go.

Speaker 1 (01:00:13):
But so now now my boys are throwing that on
me all the time. And it's not all at once.

Speaker 3 (01:00:19):
It's funny stuff, you know what I'm saying at different times.
But look clearly over the let's just saying do as
I say.

Speaker 1 (01:00:26):
Not what is I saying? How about this? Just tell them, yeah,
I made sure I do. I made some dead I
made some bad decisions and I can tell you those
are wrong decisions. And that's what I said. I said, Well,
this is experience, this is life experience, and you not
to do that.

Speaker 10 (01:00:39):
Son.

Speaker 6 (01:00:40):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, all.

Speaker 1 (01:00:48):
Right, So let's talk a little bit. You know, we
have all this declassification that's going on involving you know
dark doctor Martin Luther King Junior, his assassination, COVID nineteen
and the origins and UFOs and and we'll get something
on that here in a minute. But in course JFK

(01:01:08):
his assassination and all that, nine to eleven. But right
now there's one that I think probably has some of
the elites most nervous. Glenn Beck is about to talk
about this. He's our Blaze TV brethren. He says that
at the Epstein files, he thinks they're going to drop
in the next ten days, next ten days. So here's

(01:01:30):
Glenn Beck with Blaze TV talking about them.

Speaker 12 (01:01:34):
And in the next ten days, you're going to see
the Epstein file released in the next ten days, next,
next ten days, please think the next day to be released?

Speaker 1 (01:01:43):
Yeah, and what kind of information you have to be
able to be that's certain about it? I plead the
fifth In the next ten days, next ten days, stop it?
Next ten days. You're tell he'sing millions who want that list.

Speaker 12 (01:01:58):
Day number one, Bettel walks in. By the end of
the day it will be released.

Speaker 1 (01:02:03):
Please. Did Cash Hotel get confirmed yet? Did r f
K get confirmed yet?

Speaker 12 (01:02:08):
Not yet?

Speaker 1 (01:02:09):
None of them, not Senate.

Speaker 12 (01:02:10):
Yeah, So as soon as he's confirmed his first day,
it will be released.

Speaker 1 (01:02:17):
So he has been confirmed since that video. Okay, so
it is he I thought I thought, Yeah, I thought,
I think he is.

Speaker 5 (01:02:31):
Yeah, well I know it's house. But then that has
to go to the Senate.

Speaker 1 (01:02:35):
Yeah, maybe not, I don't know. Maybe it was speaking
of cash, speaking of cash, your dad telling me a
story about you. You had a bunch of one dollar. Hey,
I wouldn't doubt it.

Speaker 3 (01:02:48):
Now my boys know, and so now now they just
come in and sit down the couch and go tell
me another one. Well, see, this is gonna be okay,
he's not okay, this is gonna be sure, thank you.
This is gonna be the version there. There are so
many people that are out there right now. This Epstein
thing is going to be oh that it is going
to be a Debbie Debbie Downer, you know.

Speaker 1 (01:03:10):
I mean they're like, all right, I thought this was
put away, This was in my past, and in all fairness,
some of them may be completely different human beings now,
but it's going to be it's going to be ugly.
You're saying that different human being part on your bad.

Speaker 3 (01:03:24):
Okay, thank you very much, so your children here, but
back to Cash. I saw in an interview with him
just talking about Adam Shift alone about how he was
involved with investigating the Russia hoax and collusion and all
this kind of stuff, and he knew and then and
then Adam Shift he saw the same documents that Cash
and the others were seeing, but was purposely going out on.

Speaker 1 (01:03:45):
The media and lying about it.

Speaker 3 (01:03:47):
Yes, And he said that that needs to be investigated
just on its own because he knew he was lying
the whole time.

Speaker 1 (01:03:53):
And we did too. But but it's just another it's
another example of that whole Russia clue.

Speaker 13 (01:04:00):
You know, This Steele dossier is what Cash exposed and
was a discredited document central to the Russia investigation of
President Trump, and they used that to investigate Trump.

Speaker 1 (01:04:11):
For right, and they knew it was a lie the
whole time. They were talking about it. All right, So
next we will This is Representative Anna Paulina Luner Luna,
and she's going to lead the task force own the
declassification of federal secrets. And she's going to let us
know what all it's going to include. And it is
a hey, quite a list. I hit some of it,

(01:04:33):
but here's the list right here.

Speaker 14 (01:04:34):
He committed to declassifying the files concerning the assassinations of
President John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, and doctor Martin
Luther King, Jr. A decision not just monumental, but pivotal.
It is with profound honor that I have been entrusted
by Speaker Mike Johnson and Chairman James Comer to lead
the House Force or at the House Oversight Task Force
on declassification of federal secrets. Together with the help of

(01:04:58):
the White House are Intelligence out, the Department of Defense,
the Department of Justice, We'll be conducting investigations into the
following the assassinations of JFK RFK and doctor Martin Luther King.
Unidentified aerial phenomena also known as UAPs, and I've identified
some merged objects also known as USO's, the Epstein client list,

(01:05:20):
the origins of COVID nineteen, and the nine to eleven files.

Speaker 4 (01:05:24):
He hello, wow, I'd like to know about a lot
of those.

Speaker 1 (01:05:32):
Yeah, that's hey, all right? So are we gonna be
able to handle the truth though?

Speaker 10 (01:05:36):
Ah?

Speaker 5 (01:05:38):
Or is it going to be all?

Speaker 4 (01:05:38):
They're going to publish it and then it's going to
be redacted, redacted, redacted, just black highlighter everything.

Speaker 5 (01:05:44):
Hopefully not that's probably.

Speaker 1 (01:05:45):
What's going on. So she goes on to say that
she personally believes then the two gunmen deal with JFK.
She gives her okay here here she is a following Epstein.

Speaker 14 (01:05:58):
Our first investigation will be announced, but it's going to
be covering on a thorough investigation into the John F.

Speaker 1 (01:06:04):
Kennedy assassination.

Speaker 14 (01:06:05):
And I can tell you, based on what I've been
seeing so far, the initial hearing that was actually held
here in Congress was actually faulty in the single bullet theory.
I believe that there were two shooters, and we should
be finding more information as we are able to gain
access into the skiff, hopefully before the files are actually really.

Speaker 1 (01:06:22):
Who just throwing two gumman out there? Just throwing it
out there, throwing it out there. Based on what I've seen,
I believe the two guman What can you just throw
something like that out there?

Speaker 3 (01:06:38):
But don't you think that there's been so much time
that that they're gonna only let you see what they
want you to see, that they could have covered it up.

Speaker 1 (01:06:49):
Will be underwhelmed when all this comes out, We go out.

Speaker 5 (01:06:52):
Well, I think they're doing.

Speaker 1 (01:06:53):
Okay, so you will you're underwhelmed by everything. That's good boy.

Speaker 5 (01:06:56):
Whole list.

Speaker 4 (01:06:58):
JFK is the longer want to go. So I think
they're doing that on purpose because it's had the most
time to go by the least amount of people will
be on the chopping block. It's a good start. People
have long questioned that theory of the JFK killing, and
so I think it's a great place to start. Granted,

(01:07:19):
I think there are some more recent controversies that we
should probably focus on more. I think it is a
good start for the public to be able to maybe
take it in.

Speaker 1 (01:07:30):
All right, So I'm going to ask your opinion, guys,
and I think you're accurate on that. Adler. Do you
think that you will be not underwhelmed, but you'll go
well when what you discover about nine to eleven Epstein, JFK,
whatch you've mentioned RFK, Martin Luther King or origins of

(01:07:52):
COVID nineteen which I think we already know are UFOs.
Which one do you think is going to give you
something has the most chance to give you something? You
can whoa Epstein files are going to be? Kenny? That's
that's really close, but then Kennedy, Yeah, okay.

Speaker 5 (01:08:07):
Really that's the most shocking one to y'all.

Speaker 3 (01:08:09):
Well, I think because we really know about COVID nineteen origins,
that's a no brainer UFOs.

Speaker 1 (01:08:14):
Every time something on UFOs, I'm always left going, well, right,
I'm always underwhelmed by UFOs. In Bigfoot, yeah, we'll big fright.

Speaker 5 (01:08:22):
Okay, let's say it this way. Nine to eleven.

Speaker 4 (01:08:27):
You find out it wasn't inside job. That's just what
you're gonna find out. If this is ifs what.

Speaker 1 (01:08:33):
Would be the most that would be the one.

Speaker 4 (01:08:37):
He's an inside job of nine to eleven. More shocking
than it. Hey, here's a little gray man. Yes, that's
more shocking than.

Speaker 1 (01:08:45):
There's something from another planet we haven't If they're somehow
involved in the nine.

Speaker 5 (01:08:49):
Eleven, okay, that makes it double.

Speaker 1 (01:08:51):
I don't know something about what if they released it
and there was a picture of Elon Musk, I wouldn't
be surprised. I don't think I'm gonna be surprised. In
the Epstein deal, to find out that Bill Clinton was
a hound? Was a hound? Oh really, there's a shock there,
Bill was there? Wait a minute, some really some really
really really influential people are are sexual deviance. What a shock,

(01:09:12):
what a shock. But I think I think that's going
to be more of the powerful names on it. Like Wow,
I'm going to warn you that as far as just
a you know how, you can get disappointed. You get
ready for a little bit of disappointment on the Martin
Luther King Junior things I'd like that. I'd like to add,
you may see some things that you wish you hadn't seen. Yeah,
I've heard some yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:09:32):
Oh yeah, oh yes, yes.

Speaker 1 (01:09:34):
We'll take phone calls next eight day eight, the number
six than Big Vox.

Speaker 6 (01:09:39):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (01:09:47):
We've hit a lot of stories today. Terry Wilburn's fiftieth
birthday today, Speedy's wife, Happy birthday, Terry. I got a
text from her and and I'm off to a good star.
You outdid yourself, honey, you out did you just have
a little ony. That's good, I said, we just stopping

(01:10:10):
love love love a reassuring text. Yeah, I love it. Yeah,
it's good to a good start. Good good sign.

Speaker 4 (01:10:16):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:10:16):
I do want to start this hour by informing my
baby brother or something. What's that he's in that mood today?
Watch out? Yeah, I know you are, and I just
won't tell you. Okay, this is you know, we've been
brothers all of our lives, which is usually how the
biological brother thing works. It does. I am going to
eat one of your Jimmy Dean sausage things, so just
prepare yourself. How are you gonna feel about it? You've

(01:10:37):
been You've been real protective of them. You've you've tried
to I'll bring more than one. You've been trying to
keep keep him away from us, even offering other things.
You know, he's you ever ever try to get a
dog way something? You throw something over here and you'll
go after it. Yeah, he's offering some weird snack today,
hoping that we'll stay away from him. We're all sharing
our stuff up here, and you're not wanting to share

(01:10:58):
these Jimmy Dean instant breakfast and I'm just gonna tell you,
just show you. No, I'm gonna get one. Here's the deal, Okay.
I mean I will have this speech about how we
were on our own right, so that means we're on
our own right. Well, our wives make stuff that's different.
We've done that and that was great and we shared it.
But as far as just us. Yeah, I mean I'll

(01:11:18):
give you what I won't, but I was told to
take care of myself.

Speaker 3 (01:11:21):
We've shared stuff, we got what, We've shared everything. There's
little power bars. I got you some almond milk and
some granoda.

Speaker 1 (01:11:30):
You ain't touched, you know what? Yeah, champion, let me
tell you what I'm gonna do on one of your things. Well,
I'm just that's why only bringing one and then I've
noticed that he won't even bring multiple. Let me tell you, hey,
you got a disappointing day coming. You know what eggs caused?
Now I do. That's got eggs, got two eggs. If

(01:11:54):
you keep bringing one today, it's gonna be a disappointed guys. Also,
I just told that you pal if you if you
don't bring you on, then you did starve.

Speaker 3 (01:12:03):
I don't know if that's exactly what I would say,
you star I noticed another one, Rick, But you know,
have you ever seen Adler's breakfast?

Speaker 1 (01:12:09):
Now? It's almost like he's special Forces. Yeah, and speedy too.
Our wives made stuff and I brought in fed Jo
figured that covered it. Yeah. Can we can we declassify
his breakfast?

Speaker 10 (01:12:21):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:12:22):
It's crazy.

Speaker 4 (01:12:22):
I brought a box and put it in there of
Cliff bar brought a bag of beef jerky, and I
bought I brought a bag of fruit ball. You said
you didn't like that.

Speaker 5 (01:12:32):
That was the fatties. Those are dogs. Those are dogs. Now,
those are the minis.

Speaker 1 (01:12:39):
I haven't eaten because I was doing kind of like
doing speedy. I don't want to get his stuff. But
if I say I got something, those things are hard
to come by, and there's a certain amount of breakfast
you're hiding.

Speaker 4 (01:12:50):
I'm living off that and and some spicy almonds.

Speaker 1 (01:12:54):
You'll like pull a bold egg out of your pocket.

Speaker 4 (01:12:57):
I did.

Speaker 5 (01:13:00):
Everything else, though.

Speaker 1 (01:13:02):
Well that's what that's our point. You're not offering.

Speaker 5 (01:13:05):
I'm not giving y'all every thinking together. Nobody said.

Speaker 1 (01:13:10):
Y'all am I. The only one was that that man.
And then before I knew it, before I knew it,
we became like similar to the Church of Acts, where
it seemed like everybody was saying, whatever is mine is yours,
and you know, it's just a case, let's just for
you that day. But I'm just saying, yeah, I'm just
saying I was just preparing yours, gonna eat one of
those Jimmy Dean things, just so you know that's just rude,

(01:13:34):
right because I can't get you back, because you've got
that old game breakfast you lie, I can't get I can't.
I'll eat yours too, No, I won't. I want you
to make him that breakfast Jimmy Dean's a little too
manly for you when it comes. Have you ever had
anybody Jimmy Dean's and then make you eat.

Speaker 9 (01:13:58):
It?

Speaker 1 (01:13:58):
Sounds exactly like a conversation we were kids, he was.
You don't like it, I'll make you. On that note,
I want to ask you this question this You know
how we just think weird things. I mean we always do.
Adair and I were just discussing everybody on this show
is strange. Okay, what what do you think is more likely? Okay?
You you met a man, we all met him. He

(01:14:19):
is not a barber, a hairstylist, or he works at
a florist. What is the best chance he's straight? Mm hmm,
good now flors You think florist? Now you just say barbershop. No, no,
I said the hairstylist with the smock and and this

(01:14:39):
man is straight? Which one of those more likely? I'm
a go hairstylist.

Speaker 5 (01:14:44):
Wait, what are the options again.

Speaker 1 (01:14:45):
I'm a florist, or I'm a hairstylist, just him and
his wife on the If you don't know that, you
just met a man he's male, and you say what
do you do? And he said, well, I'm a florist,
or he says, or you say what do you do?
I'm a hairstylist, which one of those two is more
likely to be straight.

Speaker 4 (01:15:01):
I think florist because if you say hairstylist, they're like,
you know what I mean when I say.

Speaker 1 (01:15:06):
Hair, don't be mad at me. No, I just asked
you all question on your first reaction, and we're not
saying that's the truth. We're just saying I asked you
what you would think, because I'm going with flower.

Speaker 4 (01:15:17):
If you're straight, you're really If you're straight, i'm gonna
you're gonna say I'm a barber.

Speaker 5 (01:15:21):
If you're not, you're gonna say a hair stylis convinced me.

Speaker 3 (01:15:25):
I might change mine then, because hair stylist. That's very
very So can I just say this?

Speaker 9 (01:15:30):
So?

Speaker 1 (01:15:31):
Is there anybody that can document that you've met a
man who was straight he was a florist?

Speaker 5 (01:15:36):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (01:15:37):
Okay, why are you asking this? Yes? Yes, it was
a discussion. It's just something that hit me that time
I was driving. Uh so, I thought which one's more longing? No,
it was a conversation I got into and I can't
get into one. Oh but the so and I ready
for are they having younger granola? This as well? Now
if what if he has what if he has almond

(01:15:58):
milk granola and is.

Speaker 4 (01:16:00):
Floors, then it's starting to lean a certain way.

Speaker 1 (01:16:04):
Now. I tend to think that I have actually met
men who are hairstylist that are straight. I have to
I'm just saying, yeah, I had to make a choice, right, No,
because I did ask the question, are you bragging about it?
I'm not bragging about it. I'm not about it. We
don't like to go to lunch or anything. What can
I bring this up?

Speaker 6 (01:16:22):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (01:16:22):
No, oh no, syd Okay, I've got in so much
trouble about that place. Don't run.

Speaker 10 (01:16:33):
I didn't know.

Speaker 1 (01:16:34):
Nobody told me, and I thought he was mad at
me about something. I was like, this guy's really rude figure.
Now you remember that, I know you don't this make
on air. It made on air, that's what you don't remember.
That would be the best of it may have been

(01:16:55):
it may have been haircut styllars. You really got easy.
Please everybody, please, what's no We've already seen I've already
told you all this. Will you please stop that?

Speaker 10 (01:17:10):
Please?

Speaker 1 (01:17:11):
Something you just did me? Maybe I was off there,
so every so everybody in here, by the way, I
can't believe you don't remember. I think I was. I
think it might. I think it made would make you
so uncomfortable you've put it out of your mind like
some sort of trauma. Them showing us what was happening.
That was Unfortunately, it was Unfortunately it was on there.

(01:17:33):
Matter of fact, I caused a lot of trouble with that,
a lot of trouble. It's a long time ago, because
Brooks was little. Yeah, people still man, so it just
this they still doing. I'd really not talk about the so.

Speaker 5 (01:17:50):
Brought it up.

Speaker 1 (01:17:50):
So so so the four of us, I don't remember.
We have three votes. We have three votes that it's
more likely that a hairstylist, I mean that florist would
be straight. I vote it's more likely that a hairstyles
would be straight. Okay, that's fair, Okay, I mean I
am I saying, and we know there's exceptions on to
all that but I just think about people are saying

(01:18:11):
they don't know the story.

Speaker 4 (01:18:12):
Now, if we're saying Florest or Barber, I'm going barbier.
Of course I didn't say barb Did you say barber? No,
I said, I said, not a barber.

Speaker 5 (01:18:22):
Now, what about this barber that had tourettes and it
was it's famine that that.

Speaker 1 (01:18:26):
Was a long time ago. What would he do? One
more time?

Speaker 6 (01:18:29):
We'll be right back, say gus, this is the Rick
Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (01:18:40):
Thanks for being with us. Jeff Struker is with us.
We've been talking about spending some time with him throughout
the show, He joins us. Jeff, Welcome to the Rick
Burgers Show.

Speaker 5 (01:18:53):
How are you.

Speaker 9 (01:18:54):
I'm great, Rick Man, thanks for having me on the show.

Speaker 1 (01:18:56):
Well, let me just say, on behalf of America, thank
you to for your service to the country and and
of course, uh I know that what what did you
were just just under twenty three years Uh that's right, yeah,
and uh and congratulations on being inducted into the Army
Ranger Hall of Fame.

Speaker 7 (01:19:14):
Uh?

Speaker 10 (01:19:14):
What what an honor?

Speaker 1 (01:19:16):
What was that like?

Speaker 9 (01:19:16):
Yeah, you're right, it was surreal because all of my
greatest heroes are in there, and I have no idea
why they inducted a guy like me with some of
those great Americans.

Speaker 1 (01:19:27):
Well, uh, you're you're being humble and and that's that
that's what we expect, but obviously deserved. You know, when
you when you have something as uh as well, I
won't say traumatizing, because you know you're in your line
of work, you know that that's something you have to
be able to overcome. But what you guys went through, uh,
And I know it's not the only thing you did

(01:19:47):
over the twenty three years, but black Hawk Down is
is is of course remembered by Americans, and it needs
to be. Frankly, but when they do a movie and
about something that important, do you feel like the movie
was fair?

Speaker 7 (01:20:01):
Do you you?

Speaker 1 (01:20:01):
I mean, I know you were portrayed in the movie
and everything. Did you you as a person who was
there and those people who lost their lives and all
you went through, do you have fond feelings about how
that movie was done? Are no?

Speaker 9 (01:20:16):
Well, I should tell you that movie ruined my life
in a good way. And I'm using this play on
words on purpose. I was in the Army for a
long time. I did a lot of combat missions. I
never ever talked to the media and then I ended
up doing an interview that became the book, which became
the movie. And when people found out that I was

(01:20:36):
in the movie, it radically changed my military career because
everything that I did was secret and undercover, and my
own my neighbors didn't even know that I was in
the military. And then there's a movie with my name,
you know, all over it on the big screen. And
I really didn't even want to see them make this
into a movie because of what it was going to
do to me personally, right, But I will tell you, man,

(01:20:58):
they knocked it out of the park with this. They
didn't turn it into a political statement, they didn't try
to make it into more than it was. They just
accurately showed the world this is what war is like.

Speaker 1 (01:21:09):
Yeah, they did, and it they really took us there.
And personally it was it was hard to watch. I mean,
we needed to watch it. I know it's nothing compared
to living it, so pardon me for that, but it
was hard to watch because you just find yourself screaming.
A lot of this could have been avoided. This could
have been avoided, and I think that's one of the things.
And we talk about this. Even in my family. You know,

(01:21:30):
there's things that happened that you know, there's nothing we
could do, it's just life. But those things and you go, oh,
that could have been avoided, those seemed to be the
harder ones to digest. Yeah.

Speaker 9 (01:21:42):
Absolutely. In fact, the movie, as you you know, came
out not long after the attacks on September eleventh. Then
a lot of two thousand and one and a lot
of people were asking the question like, why did this happen?
How did this happen?

Speaker 1 (01:21:54):
Right?

Speaker 9 (01:21:54):
And this is unfortunately just part of being a warrior
and an American warrior. Some of that stuff shouldn't have happen.

Speaker 5 (01:22:00):
And then as a.

Speaker 9 (01:22:02):
Result of the big fight in Somalia, President Clinton withdrew
all US forces from Somalia, which made us ask the
question why did we even go in the first place?
Why did we have to go through that?

Speaker 1 (01:22:13):
Right? So let's talk about I mean what you're doing now,
which is, you know, the commission that all of us
who have been redeemed by Jesus are called to. He
told us very clearly, Okay, you've been redeemed. Now, now
go be my disciples, Go make disciples and teach them all.
I have commanded and you certainly are doing that. Talk

(01:22:36):
a little bit about how you felt called to go
out and you know, of course you and this is
where you and I will connect, and the importance of
reaching and discipling men.

Speaker 5 (01:22:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (01:22:47):
So I never saw this one coming, but God radically
changed my life right after the battle was overweight. Part
of my story is that I had this rock solid
faith in Jesus. In the middle of the battle. I
was totally certain I was going to die and had
total peace about it. In fact, I had the kind
of piece that if I die in the next few moments,

(01:23:08):
I know where I'm going to spend eternity. I'm not
going to worry about it. But as soon as the
battle was over with my buddies, who didn't know whether
they were going to spend eternities, weren't ready for God,
weren't ready for death, they started asking me questions. And
it was almost immediately that God showed me very clearly, Hey, Jeff,
I want you to do something different than be an

(01:23:30):
army ranger and kill bad guys. And that's what set
me on a path to become a chaplain. Retired from
the army and I stayed around a military community so
that I could keep trying to reach America's warriors with
the gospel and fulfill that great commission that you were
just talking about.

Speaker 1 (01:23:47):
So what do you think when I know that you
know I'm a solution guy. Once you've talked about a problem,
let's get to a solution. Men's ministry if we were
just being honest, especially by the way Eastern Church many
times has been done pretty poorly. And one of the
things that I think that that's missed a lot of
times is we try to reach and disciple men as

(01:24:10):
if men are children are women, and they're not. Men
and women are certainly equal in value, but they're beautifully
and distinct. And I love the approach that you are taking,
and it's why I wanted you to be part of
one of our conferences. Is there is a way to
talk to a man because that's the way God made men,

(01:24:31):
And you certainly do that. Tell me about your strategy
when you're going to speak to men?

Speaker 9 (01:24:37):
Well, yeah, so, Rick, anytime you call, I am such
a big fan of Man Church and what you're doing,
and I believe completely in it. Anytime you call, I
look at my schedule and try to figure out if
I could fit it in good Because, like you, I
look at what's wrong with the church, what's wrong in America,
what's wrong around the world. Fact, by the way, I'm

(01:25:00):
so committed to the great Commission that I'm talking to
you right now from a coffee shop in Praetorious South Africa.

Speaker 5 (01:25:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (01:25:08):
But I look at what's wrong, and you can point
a lot of it, if not most of it back
to men and men's failures. And I believe a man
needs to be talked to like a man, needs to
be treated like a man, but also a man needs
to be challenged.

Speaker 1 (01:25:22):
Like a man. Amen.

Speaker 9 (01:25:24):
And what I try to do is just talk to
men honestly, but not hold any punches, and just say, guys, listen,
if there's problems at work, at home, in your personal life,
you got to look at you long before you start
looking around you at other people. And I'm the living
proof of that. You know, when Jesus got a hold
of me, he radically changed me and then started to

(01:25:45):
change people around me. And I think that the Gospel
is supposed to do is change families. And the fastest
way to change a family is to change the father
or to change the man.

Speaker 1 (01:25:56):
Yeah, which is exactly why God called us to to
these ministries, because I tend to want to go to
where if I get this worked out, it'll solve a
lot of other problems. You know, our adversary clearly knew
that in order, as Jesus taught us, if I'm going
after that house, I've got to bind the strong man.
And the adversary says, if we get the man, will

(01:26:17):
destroy the family, will destroy the church, will destroy society.
And what we have to do as the church is
counter that move as Jesus has clearly told us to do.
And if you reach and disciple the man, you solve
a lot of those problems.

Speaker 9 (01:26:31):
I like to tell people, Rick, if you look in
the Bible, one of the most messed up churches in
the entire Bible is the Church in Coort Yes, And
in the Book of First Corinthians, the last thing that
the book says is in chapter sixteen it says, act
like men. And I want to say, you know, most
of the mess in this church is probably because men
weren't acting like men. And maybe it's time for us

(01:26:53):
to get real about the mess in the church in America,
and maybe it's time for men to stand up and
start acting like men in the church instead of being
talked to and treated like women for like children.

Speaker 1 (01:27:04):
Yeah, I think that's why a lot of men are
not engaged in the Western churches too many times. It's
designed to draw women and children and it really isn't
designed to draw men as they were made by God.
So thank you for everything you're doing. And I can't
thank you enough for making the effort from South Africa
to be on the show to help promote. So if
you want to see Jeff, he's part of our Atlanta stop.

(01:27:27):
He'll be there along with Scott Dawson, Landon Dowd. Also
Andy Blanks and I will be there. So if you
don't have tickets, Atlanta is February twenty eight through March first,
and you'll get to come here Jeff in person, and
trust me, make this a priority. Jeff, thanks for all
you've already done and continue to do.

Speaker 9 (01:27:45):
Thanks buddy, look forward to seeing you on February twenty eight.

Speaker 1 (01:27:48):
I do too, man, Thanks so much. Jeff Strucker, American
hero and devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Make plans to
be with us in Atlanta coming up on the twenty
eighth and March first. It'll be a powerful weekend. You
don't want to miss it. Find out at the manchurch
dot com.

Speaker 6 (01:28:06):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (01:28:14):
That was I felt like that, I mean, what a hoss.
I mean, how easy would it have been for him
and understandable for him to say, hey, man, I'm in
South Africa. I can't I can't be zooming in being
on that and and he did because he's a horse,
and uh he he will. Will. I look forward to
hanging out with him Lord Willing in Atlanta in a

(01:28:35):
couple of weeks. Gonna be great.

Speaker 3 (01:28:36):
Yeah, I mean what we do for a living offers up,
you know, some pretty cool opportunities. And meeting Jared Hudson
in person and then interacting with him knowing we're going
to meet him in person.

Speaker 1 (01:28:47):
Oh yeah, it's pretty cool. Some some good perks to
the to the job Army Ranger Hall of Famer Jeff Strucker,
and I love that when when he said, you know,
he was already redeemed and he said, I felt like
in Mogadishu that we were not going to survive, and
I was preparing to die. But I knew I was
ready to die. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:29:07):
Netflix has a new documentary out about black Hawk Down,
and it talks to a lot of those involved, now
even the locals, And I just got into just a
little bit of the first episode. Nice, but everybody involved, Rick,
everybody so far that I've seen being interviewed.

Speaker 1 (01:29:25):
Yep said they thought this is it. Yep, rightfully. So.
Also loving on the text option people sending us their
kids wearing some new swag from the show. I just
saw the water bottle come up there at Let's cool. Hey,
that water bottle turned out great. Didn' look at it
right there? Yeah like that. That was nice, So thanks
for sending those to us. Also looking back at last

(01:29:48):
hour a little bit, talking about moments when when somebody
just has something so wrong and you're in an uncomfortable situation.
This is from a person I will not name, says
when I hear y'all talking about kids not knowing what
words mean, you not knowing what words mean using them
in a bad situation, he said, my grandmother was completely deaf,

(01:30:12):
and so my dad was actually fluent in sign language.
Now this sounds more like how we grew up, Greg.
My dad would teach us, my brother and me cuss
words in sign language. Then he would say, sign this
to your grandmother. It means I love you. No, no,

(01:30:34):
that's good, and he goes, by the way, it did
not mean that, and it would freak out my grandmother
and she would get upset and my dad would laugh.
Now that's just a little thing that sounds good right there.
Also also, I love the person that said that they
took their little girl to a basketball game who screamed
out in the gym. While there's a lot of black
people here. Gracious, that's a doozy right there. I know

(01:30:58):
we don't follow it.

Speaker 3 (01:30:59):
Speaking of college basketball basketball in general, Alabama, Auburn, Alabama
one and two.

Speaker 1 (01:31:04):
Yes, are they really?

Speaker 5 (01:31:05):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (01:31:05):
I watched over one time and it was this past weekend.
They got hammered Florida. Yeah did you Okay, well, there
you go. I think that Florida's top four Tennessee in
the Yeah whatever. But I just thought it was cool.

Speaker 4 (01:31:20):
By the way, this is I love you, everybody, This
is I love you. That's not that doesn't mean I
love you.

Speaker 1 (01:31:28):
Do you have to stick your tongue out when you
do that?

Speaker 5 (01:31:30):
I just call.

Speaker 1 (01:31:33):
That's different.

Speaker 9 (01:31:34):
I mean.

Speaker 1 (01:31:36):
Up all right. So another a couple of some videos
and stories there's a video that's circulating right now. And look,
this is the worst if you've ever when we you know,
Greg Speedy and and me ad Er you were later.
We grew up in the eighties. And when you grew
up in the eighties, if you played little ball and

(01:31:58):
we did, you were going to bench press. I mean
how much you bench press? How much you bench bench press?
Was everything? Minimum? Maximum? Remember that you'd go and so
how much can you bench? Well, here's a person. I
don't know what they're thinking. I get, I don't know
if they're trying to get a new max or what
they're trying to do, but they have a I don't

(01:32:21):
know if this is a girlfriend or a wife or
a sister. There is a smallish female that he has spotting,
which is a terrible idea, especially when you're going for
your max, and that means you've got a lot of weight.
There's a lot of weight on here, and this guy
doesn't even come close. She is enough to bench this,
and she can't get the weight off of him, and

(01:32:42):
at one point begins to roll it back on his neck.

Speaker 3 (01:32:44):
Yeah, you just it gets stuck on his chest and
rolls onto his neck and she's not strong enough to
get it off of Hey, when you get it, when
you find somebody to spot you, they got to be
able to pull it off.

Speaker 1 (01:32:53):
Oh yeah, look that's a lot of weight. That's a
ton of lot of weight.

Speaker 5 (01:32:56):
I haven't watched this is the audio.

Speaker 1 (01:32:58):
Okay, yeah, seems to be. It looks like there's some
the gym. But isn't it a different lang?

Speaker 5 (01:33:03):
It is?

Speaker 1 (01:33:04):
It is, but so we wouldn't know now Cussin's universe.
But hey, he's in a handle. He's in a major hand.
I thought at one point to cut his head on.
I did too. I thought I was afraid. We were
watching those Faces of Death video, right, So you'll have
to explain Rick for the radio. So here he is,
he's going to try a lot of weight and it's
just a small female he's got back. She gets out

(01:33:24):
of the way.

Speaker 15 (01:33:25):
He doesn't. Now she gets over there, she's still holds
it back and drops it. She can't even come close
to moving it.

Speaker 5 (01:33:37):
And he said get out of here.

Speaker 1 (01:33:43):
Look is he trying to get What is he trying
to do. He's grabbing her whenever she has on and
she's trying to move.

Speaker 5 (01:33:50):
It's still stump.

Speaker 1 (01:33:55):
Oh goodness, my.

Speaker 3 (01:33:58):
At one point I thought his head was gone, yeah,
and then you can get lost in videos on reels
of people doing that like they're what they're showing off
in their basement, like does everywhere, and then and then
all of a sudden it stuck on him and he's
like what.

Speaker 1 (01:34:11):
What when she grabbed it and tried to pull it
even move it?

Speaker 11 (01:34:15):
And what?

Speaker 1 (01:34:16):
Somebody do the numbers? What's one hundred and sixty five kilos?

Speaker 4 (01:34:20):
Twice there one sixty five cage and look like a
three hundred so y uh one sixty five?

Speaker 5 (01:34:28):
He so yeah, three sixty three. Hey, hey, that could
not do it?

Speaker 1 (01:34:33):
You know when that woman couldn't even move.

Speaker 5 (01:34:36):
The woman weighed one hundred pounds.

Speaker 1 (01:34:37):
What do you think she could spine? What do you
think he was doing? He was grabbing, trying to pull over?

Speaker 5 (01:34:41):
Was he trying to say work on this side only?

Speaker 1 (01:34:43):
I think, yeah, you're trying to pull it up. She
didn't have any shoes on. And does she have like
a some type of apron on or something. Ma I
don't know, but that's what she should be.

Speaker 3 (01:35:05):
A quick tip is if you are working out by yourself,
don't use don't use clips, don't use clips. But you
can that way, you can dump it because you see
people that use clips by themselves and they're stuck.

Speaker 1 (01:35:18):
Yeah, by the way, if we ask this guy and
he says three guy, if he says three sixty five,
we go we know that. Ain't you try to say
three sixty five. We saw the video when she was
trying to pull on it, and it wasn't even thinking
about movies.

Speaker 5 (01:35:34):
That's an Indian helium. Boy.

Speaker 1 (01:35:36):
You thought your throat hurt? Saddler? Imagine his right? No,
I bet he didn't. Hey, y'all hear how about that? Y'ah?
At one point, I mean he's she jumps down and
walks back ten ft from him. That's not doing negative
on the way down. Nothing's on the neck still, it's

(01:35:57):
on the neck still. Oh my gosh, it's on the Neck's.

Speaker 5 (01:36:01):
The worst spot ever.

Speaker 1 (01:36:02):
Why can't you do that? Oh he's got Oh now
it went one way, It went one way right there.
If he doesn't have clips, he comes off over here, Why, I.

Speaker 5 (01:36:14):
Don't know what he's doing. And this man is still
jammed in.

Speaker 1 (01:36:17):
It plus his heart. Yes, now it turns into being
an ad for that.

Speaker 5 (01:36:22):
The clip. Yeah, the guardrails, I should.

Speaker 1 (01:36:24):
Say, wow, Okay, that's a that that is just there's
a lot there's a lot of dumb things in that one.
A lot of hed done, a lot of dumb things.

Speaker 4 (01:36:34):
First of all, while you're recording yourself anyway, just work out,
my goodness, you do it every single thing.

Speaker 5 (01:36:40):
I was proving to you how much of a man
I was.

Speaker 1 (01:36:44):
Yeah, why didn't he? Having the clips?

Speaker 5 (01:36:46):
That's just dumb? Clips is dumb. No guardrails is dumb.

Speaker 4 (01:36:50):
And having that one hundred pound lady spot you for
a three hundred and sixty pound bench press is dumb.

Speaker 1 (01:36:55):
We'll be right back.

Speaker 6 (01:36:56):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (01:37:04):
Well, I'll tell you somebody who's extremely thrilled with it,
and that's Mark.

Speaker 5 (01:37:07):
Is it?

Speaker 1 (01:37:07):
Fogel? Mark Fogel freed American hostage is finally back in
the United States after years of Russian captivity. So and
he is crediting the Trump administration for doing what the
other administration just could not do.

Speaker 3 (01:37:25):
No, no, But actually Biden couldn't have even stepped outside
the White House at like what ten o'clock local times
welcome home.

Speaker 1 (01:37:33):
He'd have been asleep. And yeah he's done. Yeah, yeah,
So so there you go. He he was serving a
fourteen year sentence for his arrest in twenty one at
a Russian airport for possession of drugs. Uh And but
the family said this was medically presque, prescribed to squibe,
prescribed to marijuana, Mary Jane. And now you look, they

(01:37:57):
don't like that all record that they made it. We
got big grinder right in this game.

Speaker 5 (01:38:04):
Her name is Brittany, not Britney. Big.

Speaker 1 (01:38:07):
Yeah. They're not into dubage in Russia. No they're not. Well,
there's if it's medically prescribed, I do. And look at
what they a fourteen year sentence all that. I'm glad
he's been freedom, glad he's back.

Speaker 5 (01:38:18):
Yeah and all that.

Speaker 1 (01:38:19):
But in this time we didn't even have to swap
an assassin. But what but what But what I'm saying,
But what I'm saying right now is if you're a
family going to Russia, okay in twenty one, in its
state in twenty one, doesn't somebody in the family go,

(01:38:39):
we probably want to clear this, you know, medically prescribed marijuana.
Having that onus might be a problem. Maybe we want
to contact Russia, maybe not take it. Something that you
just seem up right, and maybe the person needs it
and all that, but.

Speaker 3 (01:38:58):
Still yeah, so so so anyway, he called President Trump
a hero and said you got it done.

Speaker 1 (01:39:07):
Yeah. Well, look, our our enemy is celebrating the Miller line.
We can't tell what that's in his hands or not.
I don't think it's a Miller lie. He's in trouble
for marijuana. Don't be doing this so uh so I don't.
I don't know what he's drinking there, but but he
is back and and Trump is able to get things

(01:39:28):
done that it appears others Rick and I heard. Trump
also declared he's visiting stopped the war between Ukraine and Russia,
and if he'd been in office then it wouldn't never happen. No, yeah,
that has been He's been very clear about that, and
something about all the money we've given Ukraine. We got
to have some kind of collateral and he's wanting mineral
rights to something in Ukraine. Is that correct?

Speaker 3 (01:39:50):
And the big thing he talks about is Ukrainian forces
and Russian forces together. It's about one point five million
soldiers that have died in the war. And he's like,
all the souls we need just that alone. We need
to end this war much less everything else that we're talking.

Speaker 1 (01:40:06):
About somebody who said they also have medically prescribed marijuana.
They say, most of us know, even if it's medically prescribed,
you can't take it anywhere with you. You can't jump
on a plane with it. You can go you certainly
and go to Russia with it. Also look at two
e here ad Or we saw a lot of this.
We mentioned some of this earlier. As the Department over

(01:40:28):
Government Efficiency of Government Efficiency is finding all these problems.
One of the things that they're finding is that people
who make, you know, one hundred and eighty thousand a year,
two hundred thousand dollars a year, seem to have tens
of millions of dollars in this It's starting to feel like,
as Americans, there was some sort of slush fund that

(01:40:52):
politicians use that we were being told where it was
great use of our tax money. So a reporter is
actually going to confront Elizabeth Warren about this, and I
think you guys were talking about this earlier. So so
here it is, here's Elizabeth warrening you.

Speaker 5 (01:41:06):
Expose all this fraudulent spending.

Speaker 1 (01:41:10):
What is that about? What is the problem here?

Speaker 5 (01:41:13):
What is the problem with transparent do not touch me,
Do not touch me.

Speaker 1 (01:41:17):
Send the one that's just want to answer your question?
How did you get a twelve million dollar net worth
on a two hundred thousand dollars salary and conquering? How
did you expect an answer? Yeah, yeah, not a lot
of answer. There a lot of fast walk a lot
of fast walks and all.

Speaker 5 (01:41:36):
That, all of that that corruption that they're exposing.

Speaker 4 (01:41:40):
You know, Democrats, especially democrats that are in government and
in unions, are protesting that. And I don't know if
you guys have heard it, but there's a song, a
protest song about all these uh the uh oh the
things that they're uncovering, and so uh oh, yeah, there

(01:42:02):
is fantastic Democrats are marching in DC to protest Doge's
crackdown on government waste. The rallying minds you in the
middle of a workday against taxpayers like you and I
demanding the sort of unaccountable job security that no one
in the private sector could dream of.

Speaker 5 (01:42:18):
I hear you. And they wrote a.

Speaker 6 (01:42:19):
Song which side are you on?

Speaker 1 (01:42:23):
Which side are you on me?

Speaker 5 (01:42:27):
Which side?

Speaker 1 (01:42:30):
Which side are you?

Speaker 5 (01:42:33):
We'll fight against jog where fight lanscap within onur walls.

Speaker 1 (01:42:43):
Will fight from dong to dusk.

Speaker 5 (01:42:47):
Which side are you? Yellow star? Which? Which side are you?

Speaker 1 (01:42:58):
It's not exactly doesn't kind of have the rhythm of
some of the old slave hymns, doesn't was.

Speaker 5 (01:43:06):
That dustin the wind? My goodness? Master piece?

Speaker 1 (01:43:09):
A lot of pasty, hasty white left us who would
have thought it had no real heart to it. We'll
be back.

Speaker 6 (01:43:19):
