Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, and welcome to the Spirited Actor Podcast with me
Tracy Moore. I was a casting director for film and
TV and commercials for over thirty years. I transition to
a celebrity acting coach after I cast a film New
Jersey Drive with executive producers Spike Lee and director Nick Thomas.
I audition every rapper from Biggie's Balls to Tupac, and

(00:24):
I realized that rappers and musical artists they needed help
transitioning to acting. My clients consist of musical artists from
Buster Rhymes to Eve, Missy Elliott, Angela Ye from The
Breakfast Club, and Vanessa Simmons, to name a few. I
also coach sports stars and host as well. I feel

(00:45):
I have the best of both worlds. As a casting director,
I know exactly what they're looking for, and as an
acting coach, I can coach you to be remembered in
that room. Now I know, I know actors want to
get the job. I get that, but being remembered by
casting director that is powerful. And now it's time for
meditation of the day. The ultimate mystery is one owns self.

(01:12):
When things change in our lives, we have a tendency
to react negatively, it's okay. But we need to understand
is that change is okay and we should look for
the positive in it. If things stay the same, we
would never grow. The purpose of our existence is to

(01:33):
experience change and how we react to it. For some reason,
change always comes in the form of a problem or
a crisis. We always have choices. The important thing is
to calmly evaluate the situation and patiently wait for the
answer to come. But above all, know that there is

(01:55):
an answer. It's on its way, and it's for the
good of or person. I will accept the changes that
come in my life because I know my growth is important.
Welcome to the Spirited Actor Podcast with me Tracy Moore
and you guys are in for a lovely, lovely treat.

(02:20):
You met him once before. Actor Extraordinaire, Mr Gregory Zarian.
Give it up for Gregory. Thank you for having me back.
I needed you back because we we need to cover
all the gamuts, Gregory, all the gamuts, and you were

(02:41):
like an appetizer. So bringing on the entree right now.
I'm telling you I'm part of a food group like
I'm a nash Now, I'm let's do it. So I
just wanted to give you an opportunity to tell our
listeners your background. Like I know, I'm always pressing them
to go to I MTV, and I still encouraged that,

(03:04):
but I'd love for them to hear your journey, UM,
how it pieced together and where and landed you where
you are today. UM. I'll say it again, thank you
very much for having me back. I'm gonna do this
in a in a really quick quick way. A long
time ago, I was working in a department store. Somebody said,

(03:24):
are you an actor? And I said, sure. Next thing
I knew where I was on one of daytime number
one soap opposities of our lives. Um, and I wasn't
good and I thought that, uh, I thought it would
last forever, and I kind of I just didn't take
it seriously. And I realized after somebody shared with me

(03:46):
that I wasn't. Her words were, you're great to look at,
that you're not talented. I was kicked in the stomach
and I realized in the past, and I still realized
every day to not take anything for granted. So after
my uh, after my truth was placed in front of me,

(04:08):
I went to Europe and modeled for a couple of
years and I just did some self discovery and I
came back and I thought, you know what, this is
a business I love and I was given a great
gift and I should never abuse a gift like that.
It was it was truly like be on a number
and soap opara and let's see what you do. So
has taught me to work really, really, really hard in

(04:30):
the craft that I love, in the business that I love.
And you know, I'm now hired to be a storyteller.
And the beautiful part of all of this is I
am now pre nominated for a Daytime Emmy for a
digital drama. Finnis the series and the producer that said
to me, God, you're great to look at, but you're

(04:50):
not really talented as work. And she's proud of me,
and she said that you have made me proud. I'm
impressed with who you've become. I'm proud of the man
that you are. I have an identical twin brother, and
we were raised gentleman and uh. I now have been
able to work on some of the best shows in

(05:12):
this business. And you know, I got to meet you
Tracy on the set. I am Tracy, I'm Gregory and
here's your gun makes the magic and basically, UM, you know,
this business is so full and so rich, and I
would have been thrown in the trenches and I wouldn't

(05:33):
ask for anything more. I'm super grateful and for anybody,
especially with people that are starting out, to think that
it's the easiest job and it's not hard work, especially
with where we are because there's more competition more, there's
more media out there. You have to work harder to
stand out more and wouldn't wouldn't be doing anything else.

(05:58):
So that's the longer it UM. I have to ask
you because there are a lot of actors who do
struggle with UM making a decision, whether their family is
not supporting them or their significant other, UM, whatever their
choices are in UM, not choices, but their environment in

(06:21):
terms of their support. You said you didn't take it seriously.
What why didn't you take it seriously? I'm an identical
twin and the twins were cute and it was fun
and friends that want to soap opera and it was like,
of course, I'll be on a show. Why not? And
you know, to be good, to be great at your business,

(06:44):
you have to be great at your craft. And I
just thought because I looked good on camera from what
I was told, I didn't have to look at that hard.
And you know, it is a daily job for me,
you know, especially where were on now, people are like, oh,
I have time off, I'm working every day. I'm watching

(07:05):
people drills, I'm I'm looking at shows, I'm taking, I'm stealing,
I'm learning, I'm giving back, I'm I'm because when this
ends and we step into our new normal, I am
pedal to the metal. And I'm also One thing that
I want to say is I'm a walking business card

(07:25):
for every job I've been on. I'm a walking business
card from team my agents. I'm a business card for you,
Tracy and put me on your podcast. So if I'm
not walking the walk and talking the talk, I shouldn't
be sitting in this chair with you. Absolutely, you know.
For the people that don't get the support, here's one
thing that a lot of people reach out to me

(07:46):
and say, Hey, my kid wants this. So my son
is good looking, what do you think? And it's a commitment.
And I wasn't ready to make the commitment. I was
ready to be on a soap opera and have the
you know, starts from the reboot of Dynasty be my
best friends, and that's not what it is is. Let
me learn my craft, let me know what I'm doing,
let me take the good, take the bad, and know

(08:10):
that when I walk into a rum or, walk onto
a set, you're gonna get me guns and blazing, and
you're gonna get the best Gregory you can get that moment.
And I'm also gonna be teachable. I'm also gonna ask questions.
I'm also going to bring twenty five years of my
past into what can we do to make this fantastic?

(08:32):
Because I'm not there for myself. I'm there with you,
part of the team. So if you want to get
down and dirty and work your ass off, then get
in this business. If you are waiting for it to
just be a free ride, you may get that one show.
You may get that one episode talent humility and drop

(08:52):
what it's what it's what drives you through. Um, I
love talent humility. UM. I want to talk about humility
because we don't see a lot of that in this business. UM,
how do you what would you say to our listeners
about maintaining your humility in this business? Everybody is replaceable.

(09:14):
I worked with everybody's replaceable. You know this character is
now being more portrayed by so and so. There was
a job I was on and there was a somebody
that I'm friends with, friendly with she was and do
you like that? I'm not using names and shows, but
I'm not listen. I that she was on UM every

(09:39):
episode and then second season it was knocked down. Third season,
UM a presence, but not as much because you're saying,
if you're different, you can be a talented actor and
be difficult on set. We hear about it all the time.
We are easily replaceable. And you know, you walk into
a job and you a good morning, You asked people

(10:02):
their names. You you offer to assist when you get
up from that table and we're gonna throw your trash
away and look at your fellow actors, look at their
career and go, hey, can I get that for you? UM.
Most of my jobs and my ref jobs come because
people I want to believe like what I'm doing is
a talent. So bring me back because I'm kind bring

(10:25):
me back. I mean, before we started, you showed me
a photo of us when I first met years ago
on the choir director, and it was a card that
I sent you for nothing other than I walked on set.
You basically grabbed my hand and said, I got you
because I had no idea what I was doing on
that meaning I knew my job. I just I was

(10:46):
walking into something that was already moving. It was a
training already on the tracks and going super fast. You said, Tracy, uh,
you've got to get into wardrobe. Here's your gun. And
we connected and you were nice to me. I was
kind back, and yeah, you were just as good as
your last job. You think. Please send a note, send

(11:09):
a candle, send you know, be be thoughtful, if be kind,
and as big as businesses. It's all and you, Tracy,
and be like, I want to tell you about somebody
that I really love and respect, and both get to
celebrate who we are. And then that's how. And I

(11:31):
know that indeed continues, Indeed and Trey continue to tap
into you because it's like, you know, you established that
connection on the choir director. Now family business, you know, um,
and I know based on conversation, whatever character they have
that you are right for, they're going to call you first.

(11:55):
And he calls it family, you call it. You know,
we being in this business, we are family. Uh, try
Destined films. They are family and they are loyal to
their people, just like we are world to our people.
And you show up to your job and it's the
Carl Weber and Urban Urban Books and all of this

(12:16):
is you know, we're part of a family and a team.
It's great to do what we do and be part
of a family and a team that celebrates all that
we do. And it's more than just hitting your market
saying your lines. It's being being kind and offering to help.
So it's I'm forever grateful to them because I got
you dr yeah through that we were supposed to connect

(12:42):
and you said about being kind. Um, it's the casting
director's job to be able to I've always thought that
the audition is too part when we had the live auditions, Um,
because our job was to vet your personality and to
see your talent, because you could be talented, crazy, but

(13:04):
have a really bad personality which is going to catch
up with us in the end and cost us money
on the set. So and it's come down to a
director saying to me, who has the better personality this
actor or this actor. So I just want to stress
to our listeners that that is such a truth um

(13:25):
in terms of being kind and and it's it's it's
common courtesy. It's not asking you to do anything that
thank you. Please excuse me. Well, who do you want
to spend a day? Who do you want to spend
months with? Who do you want to you know, to
let's go, you know, as you were talking about in
d to walk onto a set and meet people that
you've never met, and then enter your first day with hugs,

(13:48):
and then your day two with a hug. And you know,
everyone thinks, I've got to be great to the director
and the producer, be great to that assistant that is slepping,
because that person that is slipping cables and chords and
lights becomes a director, becomes you know, the casting associate
or the third PA down. They have hired me now

(14:12):
as assistant directors. They brought me as lead casting directors.
You have no idea who is going to turn the
page and do something bigger, So why not make it
easy for everybody and say good morning, thank you, and
please me a cup of coffee. And when you're done,
hang your clothes up. Somebody is there to be your maid.

(14:36):
Hang your clothes up, throw your stuff away and just Wow, Gregory,
now you're talking about home training because I'm not going
to mention any at all. However, please do to be
cremated with it. But it's just it's not having this

(15:01):
assumption that p a's are made and that their job
is to not only pick up your clothes, but clean
up all the food and the things that you've left
and the way that the condition that you've left your
camper or your you're holding area, So that's important. I've
actually and even the drivers that drive you to and

(15:22):
from set, the driver drive me back to Crew Parking
wrapped so that I could do another once over in
my trailer to make sure that they didn't and like, no,
we're good, and I said, we're not good. Let me
to go back and make sure that it looks better
than it did when I walked in that morning. It's

(15:44):
it's my job, because I real quick I did. Uh.
L A Models is his family in l am discovered
me and I was on a job and one of
the models, one of the male models, left all his
clothes on the floor and left is um fitting area
a mess, and l A Models got a phone call
and the part of that they also got with the

(16:07):
only male model that stayed to pick up after him.
With me, it's not my job to clean up after you,
but it's also my job to make sure that l
A Models gets an amazing wrappers. They made a phone
call for me, and I'm part of that team. So
when you walk onto a set, you are part of
your agent, You were part of your manager, you're part
of your publicist. Like Matt my publicist MAP, I am

(16:29):
part of his team. I had great to make it
look great. I'm part of your team. Yeah, you're your
social media. It's coming sense to be like, oh wait
a minute, they did this for me. It's important for
me to give back for them because look, you invited
me back to the party. Yes, and I love what

(16:51):
you said. Um, you know, I'm glad we're having this
conversation because we don't talk about this as actors. We
don't talk about this stuff because this is a part
of working on the set. Your work ethic, your attitude,
all of this stuff plays. But we don't talk about
the importance of how other people other than the director

(17:13):
and the producers, the usual suspects are watching you. But
I was on Barbershop one when a sound um engineer
referred a day player to the director and got cast
without an audition. So when people see not only you
showing up to do the job, but you're showing up

(17:34):
with a good attitude, you know, and you want to
be there, you want to come. This is what you love,
this is what you do. I don't understand, but Nicolas
Cage told me on Kiss of Death, said David Caruso's
energy was was well, he said insecurity. But he said
one word, insecurity because you don't have to treat people

(17:55):
a certain way. No, and I don't. Yeah, I really
appreci to love you talking about that. I want to
talk about this pre nomination. Yeah, I mean how does
that feel? Because, like you know, I mean that's one
of the it's not the focus. And I believe that
with you, you are about the work. But it is

(18:18):
um an acknowledgement, you know, of of the highest in
your work. Here's what I love is that it was
I'm very Uh. Then it's a series. Um, it's it's
a love story. It's just a love story. It's a
digital drama love story. Uh. It's one multiple lenies and

(18:38):
it was created by Crystal Chappelle. She is um she's
a soap opera. She's She's She's the best soap opera. Yeah,
I'm a fan of all that she does. And I
was on season five, brought back for season six. And
here's what I love about it is you are judged

(19:00):
by your peers. Your peers have to watch your work.
So to be part of seventy submissions to make it
down at the top ten, it's humbling. I when I
got the email, uh, because I I can tell you
anything and everything. I grind and bride because I thought
I was part of a beautiful story, a poign story,

(19:23):
but also like wow, something great happened by people I
worked with. And it goes back to what we're talking
about to Tracy is people didn't think that I was
a good guy. It happened, you know, during the world,
but nobody wants to work with you again. So I'm grateful.

(19:43):
I'm super thankful. Uh. A lot of people, UH kind
of think look at daytime differently now, which I'm grateful
for because there's some talented people working in this business.
And to now have it be on your computer, on
your iPad, on your phone, and it's all digital and streaming.

(20:05):
I'm part of this great wave of storytelling and so
I'm super proud of Crystal going here. I want you
to do this and it's a story about bullying and
I get to make a difference. So it is big
in many many ways. And I'm waiting because I'd like

(20:26):
to know if I get nominated ding it, which would
be great. So so we're talking, what is in June?
I know it's in June, right, No, it's been postponed.
It's been everything that the awards were in June, um
with everything COVID and you know, hashtag stay home and
shelter in Place and everything. It's been postponed and the

(20:48):
Academy is doing a virtual ceremony. That's what I was thinking.
I was thinking they would at least do a virtual
I mean, everybody else is figuring out ways to do it.
I know that, you know, like even with the sports,
they're not bringing back you know, the fans. But to
give you that acknowledge, I mean, I just think that's
great for the morale to still have what yeah, I do.

(21:11):
I I'm going to just throw it out there and
advanced their God, thank you for the nomination. I'm going
to believe this one book really nice with thank you guy,
and I'll be in a crushed blue velvet Michael Bell,
you know, just saying here's what's great. Their trace to
what I love, though, is not a voting contest. You
actually have to sit down and watch the work. And

(21:34):
they've set it up you like it's BUFFERD so you
can't fuess for you have to watch the work. Good
great work out there. There is good work. And one
thing that I want to say that actors is, uh,
I think when you're doing your real why are you
waiting to show people your best? Your best to keep

(21:56):
me interested? There's some stuff I saw that like, I'm like,
why is that in your third scene? You lost me?
Let me start off with something strong, invite me in
so engaged. And they gave us fifteen minutes was four
and a half minutes, but he doesn't need fifteen minutes

(22:18):
because it's six or seven. That's right. Uh, less is more,
and we we think that on our reels it's got
to be this ten minute. Then no, give me a
great sizzle so that I can help you win, that
I can see you. So that's a long winded answer,
but I wanted to throw that's actually a great point
because you know, We're in the self tape world, so

(22:41):
casting directors can get fifteen hundred submissions from one character.
What's gonna make you stand out? Your photo is going
to make you stand out. Initially, If I like your photo,
then I'm gonna I want more. I'm going to read
your resume, then I want to see your real I
don't have time to sit through fifteen minutes per so,
and you have to give the attention span and the

(23:03):
time management for a casting director. You just don't have
fifteen minutes. You have two minutes. If I'm engaged, I'm
going to continue. What is your slates? What is your
slate all about? I worked with the actor's name is
Samuel Rukan. He was on counterpart with me. Hearst your Friends,
and he was the star of the series Turn. He

(23:26):
did a self tape and the words from the casting
director were, give me something great in your slate. When
you slate, it's not like I'm Gregory's Harry and it's
give me give me a smile, give me something like
I want to see who that is you have. But
if that's the personality, that's the personality side. When you

(23:47):
walk in an audition, Okay, this is back in the
olden days when they were live. But even on self tape.
You don't come in all the world's slate. You know,
all the world's a stage and men and women are
merely players. You don't come in like that. You come in, hey, Gregory,
like whatever. That's where we see the personality and then

(24:08):
we want you to morph into Derek. Yes, I did
a great workshop with greg orson Big Cast, New Director,
and I've known him for years and I did. It's
a good friend of mine, and I do workshops with
friends because if you're doing a workshop with a friend,
the stakes are higher and and your friends right, and

(24:31):
you want to impress your friend. You also get more
nervous with your friends. It's just it's a whole different thing. Yeah.
What's interesting is when people walk in two callbacks and
they walk into general auditions and there's the producer of
the casting directors and the team quote unquote at the table,
walk in and say hello. A lot of people will
walk in friendly, will not acknowledge the team, will not

(24:55):
acknowledge people sitting at the table to do a great audition.
But then they'll walk out all in agreed. His words
are say hello when you walk into a room, ask someone, hey,
how are you good? Be pleasant walking in, be pleasant
doing your job, be pleasant walking out, and you know,
be more than pleasant, be nice and kind. People lose

(25:16):
jobs because when they walk through that door, they seem
angry and irritated the party. Why are you piste off?
I used to my assistant, who is my assistant for
over twenty years. Um. We would always ask them like
are you you know, do you want to be here by?

(25:37):
Because it's like, um, in an audition is like an interview. Again,
We're not You're not gonna walk through the door and
just okay, we're gonna start. We want to know your name,
we want to look at your resume, we want to
have that conversation. Is our time to get to know
your personality and who you are and what. In my experience,

(26:01):
I felt like home training there was a big deal
because people do well. I don't know how you walk
in the room and not say hello, good afternoon, you know.
And we were back in the day of shaking hands,
so you know, there's different handshakes that I did a
workshop on just walking in the room, handshake, eye contact.

(26:21):
These are just your you know, basic things, but not
everybody knows that they don't. And so that's why at
a point where I would say, oh, I don't need
to teach anymore, I would still, oh, still lay teach
because there are people that don't know um training. But
one thing, Tracy too, was also asked a question you
dry walking what I'm like you? I'm Tracy, Tracy. How

(26:43):
are you today? We all love to talk about ourselves,
very rare. How aren't you a person on the phone?
How are you today? Your postment, especially in the business
where we are so self involved in, it's so quick.
Even in my slaves, I'm like, Hi, I'm vergys Arean.
Thank you so much for having me. How are you

(27:04):
get back to me? Let me know. I hope you're good. Uh.
It's just about being kind and showing that you care
about the person on the other end of the conversation period.
But because you are kind, you can be kind. When
you are not kind or don't have an understanding of
what that is, then it's very contrived. Because I've been

(27:27):
in the situations where actors have asked me how I'm doing.
But in order for you too, if you're genuinely asking
me that question, then you want to hear the answer
right exactly, and people they hear you, but they don't listen,
so it would become this, you know, hey, how you doing?
And then before I could get out my fears onto
something else, you just ask me how I'm doing. So

(27:49):
I'm just saying you're you're a kind person. You are
I have a whole yeah, and I could talk coming back.
We're gonna do one on We're gonna come back. I'm
gonna do another one human kindness, Okay, alright, cool, alright, No, seriously,
we're gonna we're on lockdown. I don't know how long
you're on lockdown, but we're on lockdown until June allegedly.

(28:12):
But right, how is it? How were you? I mean?
I think that UM. I think New York has really
live on the mantra of UM resilience determine, you know,
so I feel that energy. I don't feel people. You know,

(28:35):
there are people in pain, and I do UM the
other end of it, no, people who have passed because
of the virus UM. But I just think that this
is a new UM. It's a new beginning, a new awakening,
and looking at it in that way, it's very exciting
to see what is what this world is gonna look like.

(28:56):
That's what I call a us. No, it's not. And
you know, where there's there's an entity of force, of
power much bigger. So you know, and I love the
fact that and you could tell me this in l A.
Do you see small? Uh No, I know the you know,

(29:17):
the colors are brighter, the you know, the orange blossoms
smell more. They it's there's there's a it's actually a tactile.
You can you can feel mother nature blooming brighter, bigger,
uh rebirth. People are saying hi in a different way.

(29:38):
I make sure that when I walk down the street,
I waited every car. Even what it's it goes back
to what we're saying about common courtesy, were talking more,
ask to say, somebody else wear a mask. Period. It's
just being of service to somebody else so that you
can be back in a more connected way like loving
one another, being being more uh aware, uh present kind loving,

(30:04):
It's uh. I'm not upset about the reboot. I'm actually
looking forward to see who we all become. Yeah, I agree, Um, well,
we are going to have you back again because now
it's time to say goodbye. And I'm sad Um. It's
a real conversation, but it's so hard felt and I

(30:27):
think that I always want to bring to the table
a new perspective, new information, but this is the spirited actors.
So it's from the heart. It's from the soul, and
your soul and your heart is so beautiful. I want
to say this to you. Uh, you also create the
space for it. You You're you're palpable and you wear

(30:50):
your heart on your sleeve. And for all of the
people that you reach out to, please tap into all
everything that's Tracy more because it's it's it's one of
those diamonds, diamonds in this business that I'm fortunate to
call a mentor teacher and a friend and somebody that
I can grab hands with and look in your eyes

(31:12):
and get so much without saying a word. So you
are you are truly a gift to me. So um.
Once again, it is an amazing time with Mr Gregory's
arian and we are going to put love and sprinkled
us out there that the nomination is going to happen

(31:33):
soon and then we gotta call him back and talk
about that because we have to see yes, we need
to see them and we'll be back with Class in
Session on the Spirited Actor Podcast with me Tracy Moore.
Welcome back to the Spirited Actor Podcast with me Tracy Moore.
And we are so blessed to still have my friend

(31:56):
and talented actor Gregory's Arian with us for class in sessions.
So we have lean a motto shout out, Liann, good
to see you again, Yes, very good to see you.
And we have spirit Actor alumni to Lisa Caprie. Hey,

(32:21):
how you're reading you there? My Spirited Actor girls. Okay,
so how we play Class in Session. I'm gonna read
the slugline and the action, and then Lean and Melissa
will read the scene, and then afterwards, Gregory is going
to give you guys some feedback, some tips, some jewels. Okay,
you guys ready, m hm okay. Interior police car, front seat,

(32:45):
early morning. Two female officers sit posted up on a corner.
Another squad car pulls up where they're watching, um and
a man dressed in regular clothes comes out of the
building and hops in to back of the police car.
Did you see that? Yep? What was that about? You

(33:10):
didn't see anything? What are you talking about? Tim looks confused.
We've been sitting here all day, all this time watching it.
We're not gonna follow about the car. Tea hesitates, but
eventually follow suit. Mhm. Listen, we do things a little

(33:32):
differently around here then now where you came from. So
I'm just showing you how we play. Don't make me
regret vouching for you to get on. So I think
that's you find your place, can follow through. I'm not
be your best bet, aren't you? Mm hmm. I want

(33:55):
to ask so many questions to you. I worked really
hard to kid here. This means everything to me and
my family. I would expect you as a friend to
not try to jeopardize that. I wouldn't and that's why
I remmembizing you. Is best that you just follow what
you see. Right. Good, let's go, Let's go get breakfast,

(34:20):
hot back in the car. They get back in the car.
Oh and um, there's no friends here, mama. We look
out for each other, so I don't let you'll do
the right thing. What do you want the more for?
To his phone rings, it's the Captain Colin. You've got

(34:43):
this concern over to his face it's a new game. Now.
See nice ladies, very nice ladies, Okay, Um, all right, Gregory,
I'm gonna throw it to you. Okay, I just caught
that really nice, nice, really really nicely done. Here's here's um,

(35:06):
since most of the stuff that we're gonna be doing
now is gonna be on screen, and uh create for
both of you, which both of you did, but more
like I love land that you you started off sideways
like you you let me know where you're actually, SOA's
just a little bit more let me know where you're
at being it. Um. A note too, is when you

(35:32):
are reading, have your have your sides a little higher,
because I kept on falling following your eyes down. If
you're gonna do that, then make it part of it.
You know, like sometimes if somebody hands you something in
an audition, you use your sides. So just have your
eyes up a little bit higher. Um ju, Lisa, don't

(35:53):
here's a here's an adjustment. Don't be intimidated by her.
Go ahead that you're you're in the car, listen. You
may you may be the new kid, but you're in
the car with her, um and lean try it this way,
Uh be intimidated by her, So basically reverse what you did,

(36:13):
both of you. You know you you be a little
bit more. I don't want to say cocky too, he said,
just more confident. Don't be afraid ever, you're in the car.
You got this, you already got the job. Uh. You're like,
who's this girl? What's that about? Are you? Are you
coming from? Are you coming from my form? My place
in the car? You know what I like? And just

(36:35):
play with it and take more time with it. Let
me let me let me see some more. Let me
see uh, let me just for for some giggles, let
me see where you're at, Like, even though we have
a little screen, give me something. I mean, let me
let me let me understand your surroundings a little bit more. Okay,
I'm not gonna read you guys, So you guys just
gonna do a dialog. Okay, did you see that? Mm

(37:02):
hmm yep, what was that about? I mean, you didn't
see anything. What are you? What are you talking about?
We've been sitting here all day, all this time, watching
and we're just not going to follow. Why don't you

(37:25):
step out the car? Mm hmm, um, listen to you.
We do things a little differently around here. Okay, this
isn't exactly where you came from. So I'm just showing

(37:46):
you how we play. Please don't make me regret vouching
for you to get on. So I suggest that you
just you know, to play some follow through. I really
think you would be your best pet. Yeah, why don't you?
Uh m hmm. I don't have so many questions, step

(38:11):
I worked really hard to get here and this means
everything to me and my family. I would expect you
as a friend not to jeopardize that mm hmm. And
I wouldn't. I would not, And that's why I am
just advising you to just, you know, follow what you see.
Let's go get some breakfast how back in oh and

(38:37):
um se, yeah, there's we're not really friends here when
we look out for each other. But um, I know
you'll do the right thing when you're in the mood
for the Captain Colin. I think you got it, insane. Wow,

(39:08):
that's just Joysa. You scared me, like what, um Here's
there's only one from one little bit of adjustment that
I want to say, Lee And if I was, if
I wasn't, I love that you started like this for
every audition, though, let me at least start with your eyes.
I want to I want to always follow with your eyes,

(39:29):
so you could you could be starting like this, because
then I'm gonna follow you. The adjustments were so simple
but so good until you took it Alicia, which I
loved you. I didn't. You know one thing that people
need to realize, especially with where we are. If I'm

(39:50):
doing a scene and I'm looking and I'm talking and
I keep on going down your following, why not when
you search for your words, look up because you're still
engaged or looked to the side. You never do someone's
eyes because then sometimes it takes too long. We get
we get distracted and were gone to something else. Uh.
Fantastic note for both of you, and I love that

(40:12):
you played it really subtly and you saw how much
richer there were moments, and you were also more of
team team members. M M. You know what I'm saying
is then your store was like, wait a minute, are
you friends? Aren't you friends? So no, very very beautiful work, ladies.
I love um, I really love the adjustments that Gregory

(40:35):
gave you, and I love Gregory. What they weren't saying.
Leanne made me really nervous because she was almost two
nice and what I love. Yes, wait a minute, she
felt threatened, and then I felt like jo Lisa was
fighting for something more. Well, when she came in and said, listen,

(40:56):
I worked really hard for the job, I was like whoa, Like,
yeah she did, card she gave. I felt your sacrifices.
I felt whatever the challenges and obstacles you gave that
in that moment. So didn't you feel kids? I felt
they were kids. Yeah, I felt like you were fighting
for your family. And I loved that lands like scared

(41:21):
she so I felt it. I felt your adjustment to Delisa,
I like, I like getting me on the spot adjustment. Um.
I didn't like her being so intimid dating like I
felt like in the moment, I was like, all right,
new tactic, be nice Like I didn't. I almost didn't
know what to do with her coming hard, you know.

(41:44):
So it really caused me in the moment to be
like I gotta like shift my, like my, how I'm
gonna do this? And then it made me question why
you're being so nice and stuff and with everything that's happening,
what's going on, It does that whole like I don't
really know you the way I think I know you.
Let me put my guard back good and what I
don't know if you noticed this, Lisa, but you also
when you said it's the it's the chief. You you you,

(42:07):
you brought her back and you're basically saying, don't mess
with like, come on, you're not gonna do this. But
then also brought her back and said, what are we
gonna do? You may a remate again, which I loved.
I loved and it was a simple adjustment. M Gregory.
I'm saying this from the depths of my soul, and

(42:30):
I know all of my team can feel it. We
are so grateful to have you back on for part two.
We are going to tap into you again. And you
bring so much to the table. You bring so much
and and it's beautiful because it really comes from your
genuine spirit and love you to pieces. Man, you can't

(42:52):
say one things girls did girl, I mean say girls
ladies is because so much is on camera. Now play
turn up your computer, get a screen that's looking back
at you right, great lighting, and just play like evenly.
And when I said, you know, if you're starting like this,
see what see what your playground is all about? You

(43:15):
know what I'm saying. There's something that I have on
my computer called photo booth, hit record and just look
at what you're doing. You know a lot of people
are getting these ring lights. Some lights are too bright,
and this is natural daylight. For me. Oh this is nice.
This is you know what I'm saying, Yeah, that's natural lighting.

(43:36):
Julisa again, the angle of just your eyes higher was
so great because you're both of you were so beautiful.
But since I've worked with Lane before, she got an
idea of who I am. It was just that little
bit um and just play with your angles, play with
what it is, play with okay, looking at camera, what

(43:56):
is it like? Have your you know, you know what
I'm saying. Work is to play with angles and what works,
what doesn't work, Just so you can you know when
you get the phone call if I need this on,
I need this down in twenty minutes. You know the lating,
you know the setup. You know exactly what works and
how it is, and also find great ways to you know,

(44:16):
since we're zooming, you can put up a script over here.
I'm not saying to not be off book. I'm not
saying any of that. I'm just saying that if you're
stumped on a word and you have to pull up
a word. You can put your script above there. And
if the word is hallucinate, you're looking you're looking hallucinate.
You know what I'm saying. We're giving great moments right

(44:39):
now to create our very own photo film studio. So
so play with all of it. Hepefully. See this is
why we got to have them back on again. There's
just so much a wealth, a wealth, my friend. Thank
you all right, well, once again I'm sending you love
and sprinkled us and thank you again for being on
the Spirit of Actor Podcasts with me, Tracy Moore. And

(45:03):
when we get back, we're going to give up, and
now it's time for give love. All you have at
the end of the day is your word. That's all
you have. And Soriah teaches me every day and she
holds me accountable to my word. If I say we're

(45:27):
going to do something or we're going to create something
and I don't do it, that is the worst thing
that I can do to her is not hold myself
accountable for my word. That's all you have. Your word
determines your character. If over and over you give your

(45:50):
word and then you change your word, or you are
not consistent with your word. People lose trust in your word.
So there's value you in your word, and that's all
you have, regardless of the material things, regardless of the
monetary things. Those things are temporary and they come and go.

(46:11):
But the thing that lasts is you giving your word
to doing something, being committed to something, or being about something.
Honor your word. That's all you have. Thank you for
joining us on the Spirited Actor Podcast with me Tracy Moore.
I look forward to our next Spirited podcast. Thank you
