Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, and welcome to the Spirited Actor Podcast with me
Tracy Moore. I was a casting director for film and
TV and commercials for over thirty years. I transitioned to
a celebrity acting coach after I cast a film New
Jersey Drive with executive producers Spike Lee and director Nick Domez.
I auditioned every rapper from Biggie Smalls to Tupac, and

(00:24):
I realized that rappers and musical artists they needed help
transitioning to acting. My clients consist of musical artists from
Buster Rhymes to Eve, Missy Elliott, Angela Yee from The
Breakfast Club, and Vanessa Simmons to name a few. I
also coach sports stars and host as well. I feel

(00:45):
I have the best of both worlds. As a casting director,
I know exactly what they're looking for, and as an
acting coach, I can coach you to be remembered in
that room. Now I know, I know actors want to
get the job. I get that, but being remembered by
casting director that is powerful.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
And now it's time for meditation of the day. Tears
are words that need to be written. Sometimes you need
a good cry, Sometimes you need to just exhale and
instead of fighting, instead of resisting, instead of denying, just

(01:27):
let it go. And sometimes when you do cry, it's
a cry that releases all of the yuckiness. It releases
all of the people, specifically the toxic people that are
around you that are trying to cipher off your energy

(01:51):
or they're so consumed with insecurity and jealousy about themselves
that they can't see anything else. Surround yourself around positive energy,
Surround yourself around positive people. Today I will embrace the
positives in my life. Before we get started, I'd like

(02:13):
to remind everyone to look out for my new show,
Inside the Black Box. I'll be co hosting with the
great Joe Morton. We'll be on Crackle Network real soon.
I'll keep you posted. Welcome to the Spirited Actor Podcast
with me Tracy Moore, and I am your guest today

(02:35):
on the podcast. Very excited to have this conversation with you,
because I honestly don't think we've had this conversation. I
may have told you stories here and there about things
that I have been so blessed and continue to be
blessed to manifest in my own life. I think it's

(02:56):
very empowering when we share our experiences, our stories are
obstacles and hurdles with people because it also excuse me,
it also inspires them as well. And so I wanted

(03:16):
to talk to you the day about manifesting your dreams,
and I want to take you on my process. I
want to take you on my journey because I feel
like what I've discovered in this business, specifically and specifically

(03:39):
dealing with actors. And I say that because actors are
creative beings. Actors have to believe before they see. Actors
know that this acting is not tangible. They also know
in a sense that you don't graduate from college and

(04:00):
then get a year contract on an episodic show. People
have invested years, people have invested decades, and people continue
to invest in this craft. What is it that keeps
you going? Persistent, consistent, disciplined, confident in knowing that there

(04:26):
is a role out there for you, whether you created
yourself or you are a part of actors' access, you
have an agent and you are doing your own self submissions.
But this is the point. We all have the power

(04:47):
to manifest our dreams. And I think it's so interesting
today to look on Instagram and see so many messages.
Before we get started, I'd like to remind everyone to
look out for my new show inside the co hosting
with Joe Morton, will be Crackle Network, Real Center Power,

(05:12):
Keep Show Power. How to have this spectacular incredible brain power,
How to go beyond the ten percent that they say
we only live in we only use ten percent of
our brain. I personally want to use one hundred percent.
Manifesting your dreams. The message is almost overwhelming on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube. However,

(05:43):
when I started my journey, not only I remember going
to Barnes and Noble looking for a book, right, and
I went and I didn't know what to call this, right,
It wasn't self help at that time. There was something else.
But I was searching for something, and I just remember

(06:05):
there was a small section in the mid eighties in
New York about, you know, manifesting your dream, spiritual awareness,
tapping into the power inside. Louise hay As a book
called Heal Yourself. You can Heal Yourself, Right, And it

(06:30):
wasn't really talked about, you know, spirituality in that way
because it was either a defined religion Christianity, Buddhism. But
there was this niche that I had tapped into and
I bought this book by Wayne Dyer, and this book

(06:54):
really stirred and awakenedness in my spirit where I was like,
because I felt like going to Catholic school for twelve years,
that I was programmed, programmed into certain beliefs, programmed into guilt.
I felt guilty all the time. This book released that guilt.

(07:14):
This book opened up my mind to the possibility that
there wasn't just one choice or one way of thinking,
or one way of having a relationship with God spirit.
So as I delved into these books sometime around eighty
five to eighty seven, you know my God, you know

(07:36):
the list. Louise Hayes, Les Brown, oh, Don ruez et
Cart told so many many Oh. Mary Anne Williamson of
course in Miracles. She also wrote Nelson Mandela's speech when
he was released. These books opened a whole new world

(08:02):
for me. And instead of being programmed and understanding you know,
you have to go to school, and then you go
to college, you graduate from college, then you get a job,
you work two point you have children. No, you get married,
you have two point five kids, you go on vacation.
This was the program for me growing up in the

(08:22):
late sixties early seventies. So when I graduated from high school,
when I came to New York in eighty three, I
had a whole understanding of it wasn't about working hard.

(08:45):
It was about the relationship that I had and the
alignment that I had with spirit. Right, so it's my
anniversary is coming up. I left San Francisco, my home,
my family foundation, August fifteenth, nineteen eighty three. I had

(09:06):
two hundred dollars in cash. I had a one way
ticket to New York, and I had a Woolsworth, which
you guys probably don't a lot of you don't know about,
but there was a store growing up pulled Woolsworth, and
I had a trunk. I bought a trunk, and I
stepped all my belongings and came to New York. And

(09:28):
I came to New York aligned with the spirit, in
knowing that whatever it is I came here to do
and create was going to happen. I never thought of obstacles.
I never thought of hurdles. I never thought of impossible.
I never thought of failure. Because at a very very
young age, six years old, first grade, the things that

(09:53):
I the knowledge that I acquired from Rain dryer and
less brown in all those books became so familiar to me.
And they were familiar because at six years old, I
was aligned with spirit and doing that automatically, unbeknownst to me.
So when I read the books and tapped in and said,

(10:14):
oh my god, I know this because when I was
six years old, I'd say, you know what, I want
to bike? And I visualized the bike, saw the color
of the bike. I saw the handlebars with the different
color strings hanging down, plastic strings. I saw the seat bar,

(10:34):
I saw everything. And then for my birthday, for Christmas,
or getting great grades in school, I got that bike,
I got whatever it is that and either way I
got it because it was what I was focused on thinking,

(10:56):
focused on visualization. So as I got older, tapped into
these books and really starting to understand what that was
and what that process is and how we can hone
in and create the life that we want, we can
have do be anything that we choose. It's up to us.

(11:16):
It's up to your mind and how you think and
where your thoughts land. Do your thoughts land and fertile
ground in your brain and your spirit in your heart,
or or does it land on drive unkept dirt and weeds.

(11:43):
Does it fall there where it can't grow? So I
started to understand vibrations and if you don't feel good,
you can't create good. And feel good doesn't just resonate
in the physical, it resonates in the mind too, because

(12:04):
when you feel good, your mind's good. You just got
all these energies and vibes going. And then it's just
everything is popping. Everything is popping. And you know, I've
had to have conversations with actors because when everything is
popping and I got an audition and I met this director,
they want me to work with them and this agent.
But bah, I hope this isn't too good to be

(12:26):
too tracy. Well, now you've destroyed all the frequency and
energy that you've taken the time to build. You don't
need to go there, stay present with it. So my
story coming here. I landed in Harlem, and when I
was in Harlem, my roommate was a singer. One of

(12:50):
my roommates I had to one was a singer and
one was a dancer at the album a La dance company.
So my roommate who was a singer, she was managed
by Russell Simmons and I literally got off the plane
from San Francisco, saw them drop my bags and we
went straight to Green Street Studios. At that time, it

(13:14):
was in Soho and we went to that studio for her.
She was going to record. And that was the first
time August fifteenth, nineteen eighty three, that I met Russell Simmons.
While I was in the studio, Full Force was recording
with Curtis Blow Run DMC was sitting on the couch

(13:35):
and they asked me, because they heard I was from California,
They asked me, did I know anything about rap music?
And I said, yeah, this sugar Hill Gang and they
said that's not rap. It's like that and that's the
way it is. And I said, oh my god, so
aggressive here, hilarious. This was my first day in New York.

(14:00):
So my roommate goes in to record. I meet Russell
and then I meet Curtis Blow and he's like, well,
where do you live? I said, one hundred and forty
eighth in Amsterdam and he said, oh my god, you
live in the battle Zone. I had no idea what
that meant, but it didn't sound who is It didn't matter.

(14:22):
That did not detur me. That didn't do anything to
throw me on of my game. Right, I was even
more excited really that zone. Okay, now I got to
I'm going to work really hard so that I can
get out of the battle zone. But I'll tell you this,

(14:47):
in manifesting your dreams and what the keys are to
manifesting your dreams is really holding the vision and having
the discipline to do that. You need discipline to be
in this industry because there's no one that's going to
be over your shoulder saying have you gone over your
monologue today? Or have you read a script today? Have

(15:10):
you updated your resume? Have you gotten new headshots? Nobody
is doing that unless you have a manager or an agent,
and most actors don't. So you're on your own, and
you need the discipline to say, you know what, from
twelve to two, that's going to be by acting time,
and I'm going to focus on blah blah blah blah.

(15:31):
Whatever your schedule is going to be or whatever you're
going to do. You need to create that. But you
also need to create a place in your soul that's protected.
It protects your spirit, it protects your energy because people
they cipher off some of your energy at times, but

(15:56):
you need to take a beat. However that is for you.
It could be just sitting down and closing your eyes
for a minute. But it's so important for creative beings
to visualize. You have to practice and you have to

(16:17):
what's going to resonate with you is you actually seeing
this manifestation happen, right, So manifestation is not about a Lamborghini,
a five million dollar house, and you know, a billionaire
bank account. That's not That's not what manifestation is about.

(16:38):
Manifestation is about those things, no judgment, no shame. If
that's what you choose to have, then that's what you
choose to have. But when you visualize, you visualize, let's
say that job, that that that role that you want, right,
and you visualize being in that role, being a directed

(17:00):
by that director, You visualize your co star, and you
visualize the comfort and the ease of you connecting with
that character. And then the next thing, you know, you
get the phone call that you got the job. You're
feeling good. Those frequencies are high when you visualize because

(17:25):
when we see things that we want, right, and this
is like daydreaming, you do this all the time. You know,
you can pass a store and you see a bracelet
that you like, and then you go, you know, you
go back to your office and you visualize the bracelet
on and you visualize how it looks with this dress,
and next thing, you know, you have that bracelet. And

(17:46):
it really is as simple as asking. That's your job,
but the when and the how that's not your job.
After the asking is the trust. So you ask and
then you trust that it is coming. And for me,
in my experience, the tenfold that's why I say, my listen,

(18:09):
I got plans. However, the spirit has plans. Spirit has
plans from me, So I trust a spirit's plan. And
that's again where the tenfold comes, because the tenfold is like, okay,
let's say, you know, I ask, I asked for you know,

(18:30):
a client, a new client, right, And not only does
the spirit provide me with a new client, but the
spirit also provides me with a client that there's a
common denominator or that client can help me reach someone

(18:52):
or go in whatever. It's a connection, and it's better
than just me having a client. It's so tenfold is
so much greater, so much greater. That's the reward of
like you believe we don't give you this too, and
we will put this in here too. It's all about believing.

(19:16):
It's all about staying steadfast in your belief. It's all
about staying stead steadfast in your intentions. What are your intentions?
Drawing good, being of good? Those things help manifest your dreams,
and that's important. So I want to take you on

(19:39):
my journey of manifestation because I feel like you know
again in sharing our stories, and I have some tips
that you might want to write down. Number one, you
have to identify with what it is that your dream?
What is your dream? You know, in filmmaking, when you're writing,

(20:01):
you have a log line and that log line is
supposed to summarize your whole script from beginning to end right,
So you need a log line for your dreams. What
is your dream? Write that down? My dream is to

(20:21):
direct theater on Broadway. Write down. Be specific, My dream
is to direct theater at the August Wilson Theater on
Broadway in New York. The more specific you are, the
more the universe has to work on spirit, God, whatever

(20:45):
your religious believe. But after you write that log line,
then I want you to take and dedicate this is
where the discipline comes in. If it's fifteen minutes, fine,
five minutes. I'm not gonna be the helicopter monk not
doing it. But carve out some time where you can

(21:09):
actually lay down, sit, close your eyes and see that dream.
I had a dream eighteen years ago about a show
The Black Box and stories of people of color, highlighting actors,

(21:30):
showcasing inside the black Box Crackle TV. You've ben download
season one and season two, Blessed, and we just found
out today that we are also on Fox soul Mondays
at six pm Inside the black Box. And it started
out as a dream in this head. But I saw,

(21:52):
I saw the show, I saw selling the show. What
I didn't see, and I can be honest with you,
I did not see myself co hosting. That was a surprise.
That was the tenfold because I have so blessed, so
incredibly blessed to have a co host of Emmy Award

(22:12):
winning Joe Morton caliber. That's the temple. Doesn't matter how
long it takes for you to manifest your dreams. Keep dreaming.
There's no time limit on this. Don't put that pressure
on yourself again. That's going back to that robotic you know,

(22:34):
I grew up, graduate from high school, go to college,
get a job, get married, two point five kids, vacation,
break that hole. No, no, it's a new day. Take
control of your life. I know you've heard people say

(22:55):
you're the writer of your own film. You are look
at this as a film. Get rid of some of
the extras that have bump up your supporting cast. You're
the lead. But know that you have the power to
manifest your dreams. And when you feel good, you feel

(23:16):
good in your mind, your spirit, your soul. And I'm
not a pusher, but I'm only saying this because you
guys are actors. You need stamina. So it's very important
for you to be conscious of your health. It's very
important for you to be conscious of the way you
put in your mouth and as food and what you
drink as drinks and hydration because you need stamina as actors.

(23:42):
So you want to take some time during the day
and you want to just visualize your dream, every bit
of it. Discipline yourself at least for seven days, but
you should be doing this every single day. Discipline yourself
to do that every single day. After you do and

(24:04):
feel the visualization them in your daily life. Act like
it is act like it is I have a friend
when sort of like I would say in the sort
of beginnings of my casting career, one of my dear friends,

(24:25):
and she is a wizard at thrift shopping and consignment stores,
a wizard. So we used to go every Saturday after
I talked this class, and during that time, I don't
know why, but I was going through this blue jeans,
white Oxford shirt, and men Oxford shoes brown or black leather. Right,

(24:55):
I don't know, I have this like obsession. And she
would take me to these store and I would get
the shoes and then I would take the shoes to
a shoe polisher and polish, and then when I would
go in for interviews, I always had those type of shoes,
blue jeans and a white Oxford shirt. Right. Well, another

(25:16):
part of manifestation is act like you already have. Right,
So I knew I was getting these clothes from consignment
stores and through stores, but nobody else knew that because
the way I walked in them was like I was
walking out of Barney's. And I'm not saying in terms
of the cash value. I'm saying in terms of the

(25:38):
confidence and how it made me feel didn't matter where
my clothes came from. But in my mind, I always
wanted to shop at Barney's. I always wanted to shop
at Bloomingdale's. And so as I started to be grateful
for these clothes in which I had, I made those

(26:00):
clothes make me feel like I had a million dollars.
While doing that, I started shopping at Bloomingdale's. I started
shopping because then what happens after that You start creating
those things, and those things start to come to so

(26:26):
you have to act as if it is right. Let's
say there's a car that you want. You should go
to a car dealership and see the car, take a
look at the car, maybe even test drive the car.
But you'll be surprised. And after a while, you know

(26:46):
it won't be a surprise because you will sit in
the power on which you know, and that power is
you know that you can create whatever it is that
you want to do. Be your hat. So then it
just becomes like there's a guy in the film called
The Secret. I don't know his name, I apologize, but
he has this line where he says, then the universe

(27:08):
and the world becomes like your shopping mall. So then
it's like Hume, I want peace and happiness. And then
the next thing, you know, somebody calls me and said,
you know what, I can't use this ticket. I thought
of you, But it's a weekend vollie. That's how it happens.

(27:31):
That's where testimonies come from. It's always oh my God.
And then there's a perfect plan. Whatever your spiritual belief is,
it's already set up. We are just living through it.
And if we trust, if we take care of our minds,
and I tell you guys all the time, my producer

(27:53):
Screu says, you got to get your mind right. You
got to get your mind right. So it starts with
your mind. Get your mind right, prepare your mine. Like
I said, are these thoughts going to land on fertile
ground or are they going to land on crack desert ground?
They got to grow and expand, so let it be fertile.

(28:14):
Know that you have the power to create whatever you want.
All you have to do is ask. That's it. That's
just ask, and then trust the how and trust the wind,
and then with that the tenfolders go come. Trust. Then
you have to visualize. You got to take time every day.

(28:36):
This is the discipline to visualize what it is that
you want, see it, feel it, and then you want
to act as if it already had its act as
if it already is walk in it confidently knowing, Yeah,

(28:59):
it's happening, and it's going to happen, and it's going
to continue to happen. And I just want you to
know I continue to be blessed. I continue to be
blessed from the Spirit, God, the universe for whatever dreams

(29:20):
I continue to have. And I know that my ultimate
dream is to continue to help actors achieve their dreams,
manifest their dreams. Trust your dreams, detach yourself from the noise,
which I call yeah the debudo, stay in the light,

(29:42):
knowing everything that your heart desires is available to you.
Just ass all right, Well that's the end of our
show today. Well not the show, hold on, got a
little overzealous. That is the end of manifest your dreams.

(30:06):
So I'm going to open it up right now to
any questions. Do we have any questions. I'm going to
bring Elsea Lathan on Elsa is going to tell you bye.

Speaker 3 (30:23):
Yes, today we have two of our spirited actors. We
have Dana Kiel and we have Leah Young, welcome.

Speaker 2 (30:32):
Ladies, late, good you can go yep.

Speaker 3 (30:38):
Good morning from California.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
Thank you California. Tracy.

Speaker 4 (30:45):
You said so many powerful things. And it's so funny
to hear you talk about those authors because I just
got into those authors maybe fifteen or twenty years ago.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
But it's like Wayne Dyer, PBS.

Speaker 4 (30:58):
Got all my money because of the you two stations,
because you too and Deepop too.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
Right.

Speaker 4 (31:06):
My question is, but when you're still sitting in what
feels like the shift and I mean another word good,
how do you look up from that like like because
because I can, I visualize, but I just then when

(31:27):
my eyes open, I'm still looking around and smelling the shift.
And what would you say is one step or trigger
back into the space that you're talking about.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
Okay, so this is good because I know you, you
take my classes, and I feel like I know you
have a relationship with you. Right, So the first thing
you have to say to yourself, Dana, is that this
is temporary. Okay, nothing lasts forever. It's only temporary. And
then when you have your meditation or your quiet time,

(32:04):
ask ask the spirit God, whatever your belief is, just
ask what is it? What is this showing you, because
we don't go through anything good or bad without something
showing us something got it. And before a thought comes

(32:25):
into our head and we own it, it comes from somewhere, right,
that's somewhere sit in the silence so you can hear this,
not this, because sometimes our thoughts are running, running, and
their thousands. But if you catch it when it's right here,
that's when you know that's from the spirit. Okay. Every

(32:47):
thought that i've cost at cost has either earned me
money data like should write a book, Tracy, Where did
that come from? Right? Okay? What kind of book? Talk about?
And then make it soft cover so they can roll
it up and put in their back pocket or ladies
can put it in their purses. The whole conversation I

(33:08):
heard here, and I just heard one the other day
about writing another book. So I'm just saying to you
it's only temporary. Listen to that thought and then, Dana,
this is the kicker. I am ninety nine. I am
one hundred percent access into this business for you. And

(33:28):
let me tell you something. You think I'm forgetting your son,
huh son.

Speaker 5 (33:33):
So if you need a happy thought, no, I know
who you are, which means my friends gonna know who
you are.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
Your talent is not in question. I know you. You
have a team. Whether you see me, hear me every
day or not, doesn't matter. Your name and your talent
is embedded in my forehead. Rest in that because we

(34:02):
found each other right you know, Elsa, you guys have
a background. She's been talking about you and then finally
here we are. This is this is only beginning. Wait
till season three. Man Rest in that.

Speaker 3 (34:17):
Thank you, Tracy, thank you, You're welcome. Thank you, Dana.
And next we have Leah Young with your question. Leah, yess,
so what's up? Thank you so much.

Speaker 6 (34:31):
Here we're talking about this again because it's so powerful,
It's always so powerful.

Speaker 2 (34:39):
My question is, you know, when you want to.

Speaker 7 (34:41):
Allow and you want to trust and you say, what
is the will for today? I'm going with it. I'm
rocking with it.

Speaker 2 (34:49):
How can you.

Speaker 7 (34:50):
Not see manifesting as contradictory as you trying to control?
And I think you touched on it when you said
all you have to do is ask and not worry
about the how and the when. But I think I'm
so I'm in a space of shifting as well, and
I'm you know, whatever it is.

Speaker 2 (35:07):
This is what it is.

Speaker 6 (35:09):
But I feel like that's taken away my agency or
my belief in that I can also ask.

Speaker 7 (35:16):
I feel like it's contradictory to ask.

Speaker 2 (35:18):
I feel like I should just be.

Speaker 6 (35:19):
Like, I'm doing my job, I'm studying, I train all
the time, and something's going to happen.

Speaker 7 (35:25):
I've kind of removed the ask from that, and.

Speaker 6 (35:27):
I feel guilty asking because I feel like I should
just be trusting.

Speaker 2 (35:32):
So yeah, I feel yeah, Okay, two things, Leah. One,
you are enough, and you have to know that you
are deserving, because when you know you're deserving, you give
yourself permission to receive. You gotta you gotta get rid

(35:58):
of these barriers, these things, because your blessings are coming.
They're here, but they got to go through this. They
got to go through that, they got to come up here.
They got because you'd be like switching. When we say
I believe and just leave it alone, right then things happen.
But when we say things nothing against I don't judge,

(36:21):
but it is what it is. You give your power away.
It's no longer your power because it is what it is.
No what is it that you want? Because that's what
we want to create what you want. And let me
tell you about guilt, because if I learned anything, guilt

(36:44):
comes from a lot of places. For me, Catholic school
but and nothing against capital toool people shout out to
Catholic schools. But from my experience in the sixties seventies.
But what I'm saying to Julia is this is that
not only are you a talented actress and you're doing
all the things that you need to, it's you're not

(37:06):
doing anything wrong. None of you, guys are. Everybody gets
a turn. Remember that, everybody gets a turn. Okay, However,
what is happening is that this idea that you're doing

(37:27):
all the things that you're supposed to do and this
but it's not pain off. It really is paying off
for you, and especially at this time during the strike.
So the shift. Yes, there's always obstacles and hurdles. It's
always the way we look at stuff. We can look

(37:49):
at that glass half of do we can look at
that glass half full? What do you choose half full? Okay,
we're somewhere. And then the other thing is ground yourself
in the gratitude every single day, which I feel you do.
You know, just keep doing that, because that's what's going
to bring you more. But slowly get rid of words, guilt,

(38:12):
get rid of those powerless words. And for you and Dana,
I suggest both of you look up Mary Anne Williamson
and I want you to get the speech that she
wrote for Nelson Mandela because it talks about like we're

(38:34):
so used to and condition in this world to put
our own cells down and say what we're not doing
and what we are doing. But how about we reverse
that and say, no, I am gorgeous, No I am beautiful,
I'm in toech like just as we can tear it
down in that gratitude moment that you have, build it up.
And you guys read that poem. Read it because it's

(39:00):
so beautiful to know and we all go through that
and you too, Leah, I know you so like we
need you guys, more than you need us Without you.
I'm on pause right now. As a casting director, I
have no job. So who really has the power?

Speaker 3 (39:19):
You do?

Speaker 2 (39:23):
Okay? Does that answer it? Thank you? Yeah, you're welcome, definitely.

Speaker 3 (39:32):
Yay, Thank you ladies are great question?

Speaker 2 (39:39):
Yes, thank you you guys. Okay, So this whole segment
was great, feels so good.

Speaker 5 (39:48):
I got Well, I'll tell you guys this later, but anyway,
we're gonna come back to the Spirited Active Podcast with
me Tracy Moore, and we are going to do class
in session. Welcome back to the Spirited Actor Podcast with
me Tracy Moore, and we are going to do class

(40:09):
in session.

Speaker 2 (40:10):
You know how excited I get about that? Got our
spirit Act alumni Elsa Lason's gonna introduce us to you. Yay.

Speaker 3 (40:20):
We have two new beasts today, Tracy, we have danik
Kiel out of California and Ya Leah Young out of
New York City.

Speaker 2 (40:34):
All right, New York all right, ladies, well are you
ready for the scene? Yes, okay, well we are going
to begin. Our scene today is called Grow Our Separate
Ways and written by our og writer in residence, Lea Amant.

(40:56):
Interiorlriissa's Place. Afternoon, Larissa and Taylor are having brunch in
Larissa's edgy ndcss less apartment. It's been years, so.

Speaker 6 (41:13):
I mean, age, are your favorite scramble eggs with cream, cheese, bacon,
and stuffed French toast cup maple cru.

Speaker 4 (41:23):
Oh man, sis, I don't eat dairy anymore or meat,
but I didn't want you to feel bad, so I
brought my own lunch.

Speaker 2 (41:36):
I hope you don't mind.

Speaker 6 (41:38):
Oh damn, girl, you could have told me I'm trying
to watch my weight, but I packed on the cream
cheese for you.

Speaker 2 (41:48):
It's fine. Yah, no biggy, that's sweet. Sis. Thanks. Taylor
unloads her colored organized label food container.

Speaker 6 (42:00):
Of course, well, I'll pull out our other Sunday tradition.

Speaker 2 (42:08):
Mimosas a mango juice.

Speaker 4 (42:12):
Girl, I thought you would never say it. Bring them out,
bring them out. Can't talk with the mimosas in your mouth.

Speaker 2 (42:19):
Taylor pulls an eleven dollar bottle of freshly pressed mango
juice sold only in Whole Foods and places it next
to Larissa's two dollars bottle from Trader Joe's. I'm totally organic.
No pasteurized juice shall defile this body. Would you mind
making mind with the organic juice? Please? Larisa reads the

(42:44):
bottle and almost faints. Taylor for eleven dollars.

Speaker 7 (42:51):
Does this go win anything else?

Speaker 2 (42:54):
Good health? Good health? Larisa ignores her. She doesn't have
time for it. Let's see het. Taylor gets up to
wash her hands.

Speaker 6 (43:08):
Hey, I don't know what Upper west Side bougie therapists
you've go into but this is the third.

Speaker 7 (43:16):
Time you've washed your hands. Is everything good?

Speaker 2 (43:22):
Yes? I'm into the five piece this season.

Speaker 7 (43:28):
Five decays.

Speaker 4 (43:30):
Proper preparation prevents poor performance.

Speaker 7 (43:37):
Baby dad, don't have nothing to do with your hands.

Speaker 2 (43:42):
I'm applying it to all aspects of my life. Theresa
takes her first bite while Taylor pulls out an empty
spray bottle and it starts spraying mid bite. What are
you doing? You know?

Speaker 4 (43:57):
Webbing b says that an empty spray bottle keeps the
air fresh and circulating in the room.

Speaker 2 (44:04):
Utensils down. Larisa's done all right, So either you you
gotta go or tell me what the hell happened to you.
Taylor ponders for a moment, and then and I call
my therapist for her input and moral support. Please. Larisa

(44:28):
just excuses herself the end. Very good, good job, ladies,
great chat. So I want clarity on the relationship because
I at one point I felt sisters and then I
felt best friends. I wasn't sure what was what was

(44:51):
your perspective on that? We were college besties?

Speaker 4 (44:57):
And I've lived in Chicago and now I've recently moved
to New York. But it's taken us even being in
the same city, it's still taken a while just to even.

Speaker 2 (45:06):
Finally get together. So this is our first time together
in a long time. Wow. Okay, because what I liked
is that I kept saying to myself, you guys are
so opposite, or something happened where you guys changed, specifically
your character Dana. So I thought it was just interesting

(45:27):
to watch the dynamics between you and Leah as friends.
Don't forget for us on our new show Inside the
black Box, my co host will be more It's going
to be the ster that'll be streaming on the crackled net.
Nor sence. She gets to wash your hands utensils down.

(45:51):
Larissa's done, and your line was all right, either you
gotta go or tell me what the hell happened to you?
Now that could have the choice could have been yelling
Leah or you know, so aggravated. But the way you
did it, and the way about this character, she's so supportive,
she's so understanding, she's so patient even though you get

(46:13):
frustrated with you know, the isms from Dana. It's interesting.
It was just I love the different dynamics between the
two of you. It just was so engaging to watch
you guys. So yeah, yeah, And what I'm seeing and
even with you, Dana, is that it feels good to
see you guys making different choices and not the obvious,

(46:36):
because I really preach about the obvious. You know, the
obvious is not what's you know going to get you
the job. You got to think outside the box. So
that's what I thought was really great, very good. Okay,
so everybody give our actresses around of applause. Thank you ladies.

(46:57):
You guys did a great job. And when we come
back or the Spirited Actor Podcast with me Tracy Moore,
I'm going to give you some move And now it's
time to give love all the women and my family
on both sides of my family, very very strong women.
I can maybe count on maybe two hands how many

(47:21):
times I've seen them cry. I grew up with women
who stood their ground. I grew up with women who
were not emotional. I grew up with strong, strong women
who were determined, who would fight for their children, who
would fight for their community, who would fight for their neighborhood.

(47:45):
Those are the women that I grew up. So I
don't cry all the time, and no judgment or shame
to anyone else. That is how I grew up. Most
of the women around me would tell me basically to
suck it up, or you don't need to cry, or
you're stronger than that. And in some cases I thank

(48:07):
them for it, and I'm grateful for it. But then
in other cases, it's okay to cry. It's okay to
feel sad, it's okay to feel defeated, it's okay to
feel like you just don't know what to feel. However,
when you find yourself feeling that way, also tell yourself

(48:30):
this that you are deserving, that you are worthy, that
you are loved, and regardless of the noise, regardless of
the obstacles and hurdles that exist, tears are not weakness.
Tears build more strength. Don't forget to look out for

(48:51):
us on our new show, Inside the black Box. My
co host will be Joe the Legend Morton.

Speaker 1 (48:58):
It's going to be the Spirited Actor Podcast on Steroids.
We'll be streaming on the Crackle network. I'll keep you posted.
Thank you for joining us on the Spirited Actor Podcast
with me Tracy Moore. I look forward to our next
Spirited Podcast.
