Speaker 1 (00:11):
What's going on? Everybody?

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Welcome to the latest edition of The Steven Nick Smith.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
Show, coming at you as I love to do at
the very least three times.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
A week over the digital airwaves of YouTube.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
As always, always take a moment to thank my subscribers
and followers because we now it clipsed over six hundred
and forty three thousand subscribers.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
Appreciate the love. Keep it coming. I'm gonna keep on coming.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
Okay, this show, I'm starting off relatively quick because.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
I don't like keeping people waiting.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
You understand that the NBA players are going on right now, right,
You understand what's been going on.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
You understand that.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
Dallas and Okac has become a series, that Denver, after
being down two, has won three straight, right, and about
the balance of Minnesota out of the mix, embarrassing me
as a prognosticate.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Okay, you do understand that.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
You understand that Bosson's about to go to the conference
finals like everybody in their grandmama predicted. And of course,
my New York Knicks are making noise despite the injuries, theatrician,
despite the fatigue, despite the exhaustion. Somehow, some way, they've
summoned up whatever it takes led by the great Jalen Brunton,

(01:10):
an MVP candidate in the league this year. By the way,
Now the New York Knicks are up three to two,
going back to.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Indiana for Game six Friday night.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
Will there or will there not be a Game seven
at the Garden, the Mecca MSG this Sunday. I could
get into all of these opinions myself, But why do
that when I got my big brother, my big little
bro right here. He's a big boy, make no mistake
about it. He mean mugs everybody, make no mistake about it.
He tries to scan a public half.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
The damn time.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
But he's a big teddy bear.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
It's my brother, the one and only Kendrick Perkins and stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
What's up, big time? How you doing?

Speaker 4 (01:46):
Man?

Speaker 2 (01:46):
How's everything?

Speaker 4 (01:47):
What's up? Best? Say? Hey?

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Hey?

Speaker 4 (01:49):
You know how you know ideas I'm in New York.

Speaker 5 (01:51):
I got the vibe And let me say this, when
the Knicks are winning, it's a beautiful thing for basketball.
I'm telling you, specially the NBA.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Now tell us why because you were at the Garden
last night seeing courtside Tracy Morgan, the great comedians of
Tracy Morgan sent the Phantom for you picked you up,
Let you come up there, flossing and all of this
other stuff.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
You showed them to Madison Square Garden last night?

Speaker 2 (02:15):
What was that like, big perk?

Speaker 4 (02:18):
You know what.

Speaker 5 (02:18):
Look, I don't want I don't want the Boston fans
getting in their feelings. I don't want the Oklahoma City
thunder fans getting in their feelings or the Cavs right
the Cleveland Cavalias because I played for those organizations, great
fan base, but it's nothing like that.

Speaker 4 (02:35):
But I went last night, and I'm just being real.

Speaker 5 (02:38):
When you talk about the energy and the Madison Square
Garden being hostile at its finest, not giving a damn
about his opponent at his finest, those fans are different.
And when I walked in there, Look, I don't know
how it's been in the past. Okay, I'm new to
this family.

Speaker 4 (02:56):
Damnit.

Speaker 5 (02:56):
I was married into it, you know by the way
you Okay, But at the end of the day, here's
the thing. When I get the vibe, when I walk
up and there, it's everything nicked. You got the legend
Center courtside, whether it's whether it's in the entertainment's face
or retired players, the energy was there like it was

(03:19):
one of the best playoff atmospheres that I've ever been
around ever ever.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
And that's saying a lot because the reminder audience you
played in Boston for years. You're won the title in
Boston in two thousand and eight for the great Bosston
self to see with you, KG Ray, Allen, Paul Pierce,
rajn Rondo, the whole crew. You're lost to the Lakers
in a seven game series. It went game seven. You
lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in twenty and ten,
so you're in the finals two or three years.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
You are on Oklahoma City squad when.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Y'all lost to k when KD you Russell Westbrooks, serge
of baking the Boys lost to Lebron James D. Wade
and the Miami So you know, you know about atmospheres.
So I give a lot of credit for that. Let's
get to the basketball court. Though, we saw the New
York Knicks push forward, go up three two in this series.
We saw Jalen Brunson look absolutely unstoppable.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
It surprised most of us.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
It didn't surprise you.

Speaker 5 (04:14):
Why one he was able to get home and get treatment.
We talked about that on first take. Okay, being back
at the crib, being able to get your training facility,
being able to get resk, that's number one. Number two,
Tom Thibodeau has been catching a lot of heat. Those
same people that was giving him heat to give give

(04:35):
him his praise.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
You did it today. On first take he made.

Speaker 5 (04:39):
An adjustment clint't Deuce McBride in that starting lineup. Guess
what he pulled the Indiana on Indiana meaning we're gonna
get up and down, we're gonna push the pace, We're
gonna have space.

Speaker 4 (04:53):
And what did that do?

Speaker 5 (04:54):
That allowed big body Brunson to be able to operate
man and attack downhill without having you know, guys, being
able to load up and play boxes and elbows.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
And when they were getting out in transition, I thought Duce.

Speaker 5 (05:10):
McBride, I thought Josh Hart, they did an exceptional job
of getting to the basket. So let's give Tom Thibodau
all the credit in the world for his adjustments. Also,
let's give Tom Thibodau all the credit in the world
because when they landed, after they got their behinds kicked
in Game of four, when they got back, Tom Thibodau

(05:32):
gave him the day off the next day. It was
no film session, it was none of that. It would
show up and shoot around, let's go bout walk dudes,
go home and get more rest. And it showed. It
showed on the floor. So at the end of the day,
I understand big body Broston, he did big body things.
That's what he do, Okay, But at the end of
the day came down to.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
Tom Thibodau, Rick Bronston, Dan Herman.

Speaker 5 (05:57):
They made the necessary adjustments and they challenged their team
form a level of physicality, and they respond.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
Well, why did the New York Knicks get their ass
kicked in Game four to the degree that they did
in your estimation?

Speaker 5 (06:08):
Because because they won a Game three, and say they
didn't want Game four, they won a Game three. They
knew right with a limited roster, with all the injuries
that they're dealing with, it's hard as hell walking into
an afternoon game on the road, right, you got an
early game with with with less than a.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
Forty forty eight hour turnaround.

Speaker 5 (06:29):
Man, that's hard. You see what happened when they when
they're fresh. They came into Game three, they were fresh.
I mean Jay leb Bronco was hobbling a little bit,
but they still had a chance to win Game three.
They knew they wouldn't gonna have a chance to win
Game four. Credit to the Pacers because you know, the
youth kicked in.

Speaker 4 (06:47):
But boy, when their.

Speaker 5 (06:48):
Knicks team gets some resks and they able to go
out there, you know, and keep their normal routine. They've
been in every game or have won every game against
the end there on the place.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
The interesting part about all of this, sticking with the
New York Knicks and the Pacer series for just one
more quick second, the interesting part about this is that
Indiana's defense is very poor. But not when they're pressuring
the basketball that's their strength. It's when you get through
that pressure and you get to set up your offense

(07:18):
and they've got to set up their defense, that's when
their most vulnerable. So to me, Tom Thibodeau, starting McBride
going small, being having an extra ball handling in there,
having somebody that could set those picks, who could ultimately
slide off of it and drill some open perimeter shots.
I thought that was genius on Tim's part, and obviously
it exposed Indiana. Most people think that Indiana will come

(07:42):
back and win Game six. You're of the mindset that's
not the case. And I'm believing you feel that way
because of the day's rest between Tuesday and Friday's game.
You're looking at that and you're saying that's the key
to the Knicks being able to win this series of
six games.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
Am I correct?

Speaker 5 (08:00):
Absolutely your career, and look, let me take it a
step further, because it was it was I know it's
only it's usually only one unsong gear Road, but in
that game last night, it was three of them. Okay,
it was Isael Hartenstein, it was it was Alex Burke.

Speaker 4 (08:17):
I thought he played a hell of it. I thought
he played a hell of a game.

Speaker 5 (08:21):
And Precious a chuicy Hey, I'm telling you.

Speaker 4 (08:25):
What what you know?

Speaker 5 (08:26):
What's been the knock on Precious then this entire time
is his I Q right. I saw so many times
last last night where they were hitting them in that
pocket past. He was making the right play. He wasn't
trying to do too much. He was just being a
star in this role. I saw him being a guy
that was sacrificing his body for as the rent protection

(08:50):
Isaeah Hartenstein twelve offensive a monster, a monster in the paint.
So again, no three onsong here. Look, I feel like
with these days of rest and when you have the
best player in the series on your team and jayleb
Bruston because he's starting to look yelty when I saw

(09:11):
last night the way that he was moving walking into
Indiana after we've seen this movie before.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
Last series against the seventy six ers, I.

Speaker 5 (09:20):
Got all the trusts in the world. They could close
his own in game six.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
Now you we as I articulated earlier, You've played for
the Boston Celtics. You won a championship with Boston. You're
beloved in that area. You and I want to panel
years ago at MIT for crying out loud and I
mean perk walking the house and get the standing ovation home.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
He's one of their own. What have you this season?

Speaker 3 (09:42):
Haven't heard you raving about the Boston Celtics much. They
are up three to one, destined for a trip to
the Eastern Conference Finals yet again.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
Yet some for some reason, you don't.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
Seem to be that excited about the Boston Celtics this year.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
Why is that what you wan?

Speaker 5 (10:00):
Apploud official swimming I'm asking that's what you want me
to do, That's what you want me to do.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
We all know that when it comes down.

Speaker 5 (10:08):
To the Celtics, it's Championship of Bucks, okay, and it's
gonna be on the back of Jason Tatum and Jalen Brown.
They supposed to run through the Eastern Conference. Have you
seen the Eastern Conference? They went to Miami Heat without
Jimmy Butler.

Speaker 4 (10:24):
Okay. Now you're going against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Speaker 5 (10:27):
Donovan Mitchell is out, Okay, Then next you're gonna probably
catch who in my opinion of New York Knicks, who
is gonna put up a fight. But you clearly have
the better team because you're more healthy, although they missing
Chris Stop Persingers. I don't give a damn about what
the Celtics are doing right now in the Eastern Conference.
It's about what they're gonna do when they get to

(10:48):
the finals. Are they gonna come? Are they gonna complete
the mission? That's what I so, you know, when they
get to the finals and they're up to oh, then
I'll start singing their praises.

Speaker 4 (10:59):
Until then, I'm I don't I mean what I'm gonna say.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
Are you scared in any way that they could lose
to the Knicks?

Speaker 1 (11:05):
If the Knicks would have faced them in the Conference finals.

Speaker 5 (11:08):
Anything could happen with the New York Knicks. I tell
you that much. It comes down to when when I
look at it, the level physicality and if Christal.

Speaker 4 (11:20):
Persingers is gonna be available, right, because I.

Speaker 5 (11:23):
Think that changes uh uh, that changes a lot of
things when you start to fact in Christo Presenters if
he's start there, right.

Speaker 4 (11:32):
I like the match up between old man Al Horford
and Isaiah Hartenstein.

Speaker 5 (11:37):
And I understand you have Derrick White and you have
Jrew Holliday, but damn it, big body Brunston ain't playing
no games, okay. And when I look at Josh hart,
I look at you know, hopefully og and the no
be comes back for the Eastern Conference Finals, I mean
the perimeter defenses there, and we've not like you know,

(11:57):
I mean, hey man, like it did six or seven
game series.

Speaker 4 (12:01):
Though.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
Let's transition to the Western Conference because when we talk
about I've already announced to the world that the Minnesota
Timberwolves have me.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
I mean, I've never been more embarrassed by a.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
Pick that I've made, not necessarily them winning the series.
I thought they were gonna sweep the Denver Nuggets. It
looked that bad after Game two, and then we see
the ascension of Aaron Gordon really come to fold. Jokis
reminding us why he's now a three time league and
VP Jamal Murray hitting shots from half court. The champions

(12:40):
have risen to the occasion, and as far as I'm concerned,
Minnesota already looks defeated.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
That's what I say.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
What do you say?

Speaker 5 (12:50):
I say, one, you apologize too soon? I understand both.

Speaker 4 (12:55):
We both thought that the Minnesota timberwoollves was gonna.

Speaker 5 (12:58):
Sweep them right after they went up too oh, but
we we I picked Minnesota to win this series as seven.

Speaker 4 (13:06):
What you picked them and win them win?

Speaker 3 (13:07):
It is Initially initially I thought that, you know, they
had a chance to win this in seven, but then
I said, hell, this might be a sweet And that's
what I'm talking about.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
I said they were gonna get.

Speaker 5 (13:17):
Swapped, Okay, but the series is not over and you're
going back to Minnesota, Okay. Dem One, Game five, they
first win on they play on their home court in
this series, Minnesota, all they gotta do is return the favor.
And I believe in Anthony it was enough to think
that he could go out there and do what he do.
I think Rudy Goberr is gonna step up to the

(13:40):
plate and finally not not stop yo kicch but slow
him down.

Speaker 4 (13:47):
Okay, he can't walk.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
Out, Perk, start right there, Perk.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
We saw in Minnesota Anthony Awards dropped forty four and
they still lost.

Speaker 4 (13:57):
Yeah, but the but the others didn't play well, say.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
And that's what I'm saying. I don't have faith in that.

Speaker 4 (14:04):
Look.

Speaker 5 (14:05):
I think the others will play well along with Anthony
Edwards playing great, and I think they would get I
believe that Minnesota would get games six.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
I strongly believe.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
That Anthony Edwards.

Speaker 3 (14:17):
We went from talking about him with all the superlatives
you can imagine to now looking at him being humbled.
He was talking smack to Jamal Murray walking off the
court in Game four. Jamal Murray walked by him, ignored him,
then say a word because it was like, Yo, we smoke.
We handled our business right here on your home court.
Beat you games three and four. We're gonna go back
to Denver. We're gonna smoke you game five. That's exactly

(14:38):
what they did last night. And now they going back
to Minnesota to close this series out, it's six games.
What are we to think about the Denver Nuggets after
we've seen the raigning defending NBA champions respond this way?

Speaker 4 (14:50):
What are we to think about Nicola Jokic, steven A.
Have you thought about this for a second.

Speaker 5 (14:58):
Let's just say they do win this series, and I
believe if they do, they're gonna go on and win
the championship.

Speaker 4 (15:05):
Jo kich is going to get.

Speaker 5 (15:10):
Yo Yo kich is going to get He's on the
verge of getting another championship and another finals m VP.
Think about that for a second. That man is scared.
That man is scared. He's the best player in the world.
We said this time and time again. That was the

(15:32):
best performance I've ever seen out of jokicch last night.
And by the way, Yo Kid said after Game four
that Game five was the most important game of their
lives basically.

Speaker 4 (15:46):
And he showed it. I didn't.

Speaker 5 (15:48):
I've never seen him that aggressive like he was last night, offensively,
I mean attacking downhill. At one point he was running
the point. I was like, what else can this man?
I mean, what he do? He does it all?

Speaker 2 (16:03):
Let me see, let me stop you right there.

Speaker 3 (16:04):
Tell tell Shane to come back to the camera, Tell
her to come back to the camera, Tell her come
back over here, because today that's Janney ogoomaka In case
y'all don't know best Emale Anna listen in America right
now doing her thing. Han Andrea Carter today who's been
on the show before Janay.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
In a few minutes, I've got.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
The one and only Flow J Johnson coming into the
house in studio.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
I just want you to know that.

Speaker 3 (16:29):
I like any words you want to say about her
before she comes on the show real quick.

Speaker 6 (16:34):
Let me tell you she was the best guard for LSU.
She's got game on and off the floor, and I
love that people say, oh, can she focus because she's
one of the best rappers out there. She's like, I'm
going to show them with my game. And she really
took the next step. So she's not she's fire. She's awesome.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
Have you heard a rap game? She got a rap
game with her. I've heard about her rock she got
a rap game like that, y'all.

Speaker 4 (16:55):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, she got some hits.

Speaker 5 (16:58):
Now, well what's that? What's that thing that was with
Jermaine dupri That's what it was. A Yeah, she was
on that show. But yeah, that's another story. But that
say look before you go right, look, I know you. You
know what I'm saying. Since we bringing up guests, I
got a special guest for you as well. Where you
from again, Hollow Queens? Hey you're from Hollis Queen's right,

(17:22):
this right, I got. I got somebody from your neighborhood.
I got Chris Gotti in the.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
What's up?

Speaker 2 (17:33):
What's going on?

Speaker 4 (17:34):
What's up?

Speaker 7 (17:35):
Man?

Speaker 2 (17:36):
That's one of my home boys right there?

Speaker 4 (17:40):
What's going on? Got how doing many boy? I said, yes,
he do the man played ball. Don't do that. He
knows what he's doing. Man, great, saying you again, man,
seeing you.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
My brother right there?

Speaker 3 (17:51):
Looking good, my man, look at you got the graver
rocket is looking good on you, Bro'.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
Just looking good on you.

Speaker 4 (17:57):
And I'm not gonna paint.

Speaker 2 (17:58):
Damn, what don't do Don't let her get you to
do that. Don't let Purk get you to do that. Man,
don't let me get you to do that. Seeing you
Chris right Bert, let.

Speaker 3 (18:08):
Me get back to you before I get you out
of here.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
So we got Denver. If they win this series.

Speaker 3 (18:14):
You're talking about Jokic, you called them arguably the most
talented big man in the history of the game.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Here's my only hiccup.

Speaker 1 (18:21):
Damn, I keep finding myself wondering about that with Joel Embiid.

Speaker 3 (18:26):
If he healthy talent, we're talking talent that resume.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
We're talking talent that resume.

Speaker 5 (18:32):
Right, And that's that's another thing guess ay that we
have to give.

Speaker 4 (18:37):
We look, we didn't praise.

Speaker 5 (18:40):
We didn't give a lot of praise to Lebron James,
and rightfully so about how he take care of his body,
how he's in great shape.

Speaker 4 (18:48):
We didn't done the same thing with Steph Curry.

Speaker 5 (18:50):
Now understand they Jokic, he probably don't have a six pack, okay,
but he got a folk. I understand that he's working
on the bottom pot. But manless, that man is in
great shape.

Speaker 4 (19:02):
Man.

Speaker 5 (19:02):
We never see him tied. We never see him black energy.
He's always ready to carry the load. And for for
him to be doing what he's doing offensively, knowing that
a lot of teams think that we have to that
their game plan is to attack them in the pick
and roll, and he's been doing the exceptional job, and

(19:22):
especially in this series minus game won in game two.

Speaker 4 (19:27):
Man, you got I gotta stand down I got all
the way.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
Down, gotta stand down.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
Okay see, Dallas, Now I had okay see winning this series.
Got worried after they were down to one, looking at PJ.
Washington played the way that he's been playing. I said
that continues, they could take okay see. But I gotta
admit my man, Shae Gilgess Alexander has not disappointed. He
was my league MVP over your kidchen to his brother

(19:52):
showing up on the basketball court and remind you why
he's that dude in this day and age. Now I'm
looking at ok Se really really making me a profit.
From the standpoint of winning this series in seven games,
because Luca ate healthy, I can't hold on the PJ
Washington thinking he's gonna continue to do that.

Speaker 2 (20:09):
Kyrie can explode.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
I don't like the throw of o Case going up
against Kyrie and Luca in a game seven. But nevertheless,
I'm looking at Shane Gilgess.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
Alexander as a cat that can handle anything.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
What's your thoughts about that series.

Speaker 5 (20:23):
I picked the MAVs to win this in seven, and
I believe that they're going to do it.

Speaker 4 (20:28):
One.

Speaker 5 (20:29):
I think we got chet holnk Gred played the best
playoff game of his career.

Speaker 4 (20:36):
In Game four, he was a force.

Speaker 5 (20:38):
Do I think he's gonna be able to sustain that
level of play going against the likes of Daniel Gaffer,
who's been balling in Derrick Lovely, I don't.

Speaker 4 (20:48):
I believe this in the next three games.

Speaker 5 (20:52):
I believe that Kyrie Irvin is going to be the
best player in the rest of this series.

Speaker 4 (20:59):
I strongly believe that. I believe the championship experience is
gonna kick in.

Speaker 5 (21:03):
He's already been showing that, but I think he's going
to rise to another level and he's gonna be He's
going to be trending on the internet all for the
right reasons, especially after tonight.

Speaker 1 (21:16):
Let me transition to a sensitive subject.

Speaker 3 (21:19):
And I'm gonna call it a sensitive subject, and that
is Bronnie James.

Speaker 1 (21:24):
You and I want to.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
First take this morning talking about this and just to
reiterate what I said to the audience back then, right
in front of you, I'm gonna say it to this
audience on the Steven Asmith Show, right in front of
you again as well. I've never seen Bronnie James play.
I know he's not a kid anymore. He's a young man,
and I got to start watching him, especially since they're
projecting that he could potentially be a second round pick,

(21:46):
whether that's gonna be.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
By La Cleveland or Dallas.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
That's the rumor.

Speaker 3 (21:50):
So everybody was trying to act like I was talking
out my ass the other day when I brought up Dallas.
They don't recognize the fact that Nico Harrison Lebron James connection.
They don't recognize Lebron and a connection with the Cisten
GM and Cleveland and.

Speaker 2 (22:02):
His ties to Cleveland.

Speaker 3 (22:03):
They don't recognize the fact that Jennie Buss and then
we'll do close to anything to keep Lebron James happy,
even at this stage and point in his career. It
ain't gonna just include a three year deal. It could
be that fifty fifth pick in the second round. All
of these things taken into consideration. To me, Bronnie has
done nothing wrong. He's got to go out there and
prove himself on his own merits, with his own resume.

(22:24):
But what I talk about is I'm not blaming Lebron
for doing this intentionally. He is a loving father looking
out for his son. He obviously salivates over the possibility
of wearing the same uniform as his son and playing
in the NBA. He said this, and because of what
he did and the attention it brought to Bronnie, there

(22:45):
was speculation Bronnie didn't deserve to be a McDonald's All
American there.

Speaker 1 (22:49):
Obviously he's got health issues.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
He goes to USC, he goes to USC.

Speaker 3 (22:54):
Only averages less than five points a game. But he's
in the NBA draft. A lot of people are looking
looking at it, and I think the amount of heat
that's gonna be brought down upon Browny is something that
is not of his doing. And it extends beyond just
him being Lebron's son. It extends to Lebron James opening
his mouth the way that he did and putting his son,

(23:15):
albeit unintentionally, putting himself and putting his son in a
very very difficult position. And spot you say, what to that, I.

Speaker 4 (23:27):
Say, it's all his folk.

Speaker 5 (23:28):
And the great thing about it is that Lebron James
is not at the NBA countdown, right, Let this.

Speaker 1 (23:35):
NBA combine, NBA combine.

Speaker 4 (23:37):
I'm saying, NBA combine.

Speaker 1 (23:38):
Excuse me.

Speaker 5 (23:39):
Let this be Bronnie James, you know, uh, Let this
be his moment right his starting point without his dad. Okay, Like,
at the end of the day, everyone the whole world
was mad about Bronnie being a McDonald's All American.

Speaker 4 (23:55):
Listen, let's get down understood.

Speaker 5 (23:57):
You're not gonna You're not gonna average fourteen points make
the Mickey D's game.

Speaker 4 (24:01):
I'm sorry, That's just the honest truth.

Speaker 5 (24:03):
Do I think Bronnie James could have a hell of
a pro career, I absolutely do. I think he could
be a Drew Blesso type player with a better jump shot.
Think he has a high basketball like Q. Think it's
gonna take time. Though it's gonna take time. I could
see him playing in the G League. I could see
certain things to that nature. But Braun needs to fall back.

(24:25):
You know who did a great job of doing that
with his oldest son, Dwayne Wade.

Speaker 4 (24:30):
Dwayne Wade, he didn't.

Speaker 5 (24:31):
Push, he didn't pushed too much on him, He didn't
put too much pressure on him. No, he let things
play out the way that they were supposed to play out.

Speaker 4 (24:40):
If if it don't.

Speaker 5 (24:41):
Turn out that lebron Uh, that Brownie James is gonna
be a good pro or even get drafted, so be
it it's not the end of the world. You move
on now, nobody have like you don't have to be
your dad or do what your dad does. Now, Look,
he does have a good upside. Stephen a forty inch vertical.
I see he measure at the height of six one.

(25:02):
But he's athletic, he defends, he has a high que
and he could shoot the basketball. So and he's still
growing and he still still grow. Yeah, you don't stop
going to you twenty one?

Speaker 4 (25:11):
Right, I know that.

Speaker 5 (25:14):
I'm just saying, Man, at the end of the day, Braun,
just fall back. If he's listening, I'm pretty sure he is.

Speaker 4 (25:21):
Just fall back.

Speaker 5 (25:22):
Continue to let this be his path, Bronnie's path, not
your path you've had, George. If y'all able to share
a moment where y'all in the NBA to together, don't
ever take that for granted.

Speaker 4 (25:33):
I believe that'll be the first time in NBA history.

Speaker 5 (25:36):
Right there, a son and a father and the son
shuttle the court at the same time. But let that man,
let this young man start to live his life. You
know what's the crazy part that say what? That was
the first time I ever heard Brownie speak to the meeting.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
Ever ever ever, and he sounds just like his dad.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
Sound a good sound, a good impressive, was very impressive.

Speaker 2 (26:01):
He really was signed composed. He was really good.

Speaker 3 (26:05):
Listen, before I let you get on out of here
and we go to break, let me ask you about
the Lakers coaching search.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
Two names prop up.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
I mean, we hear about assistant James Morego and the
other guys, but really the two names that we're hearing
now is our colleague at ESPN, JJ Reddick, and of
course Sam Cassell.

Speaker 1 (26:22):
Now, let me stay for the record.

Speaker 3 (26:23):
I've been an advocate of Sam Cassell being the head
coach for years. You know this ain't no knock against
anybody else, JJ, James, Ain't no nobody. I've been an
advocate for Sam Cassell being a head coach in the
NBA four years.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
He is a two time champion with the Houston Rockets.

Speaker 3 (26:43):
He was in the NBA for years, got to the
Conference Finders with Milwaukee. Remember when he played with Ray
Allen and the Big Dog Glenn Robinson and those boys.
Sam Cassell assistant coach under Doc Rivers LA Philadelphia and Boston.
Now Sam Cassell has earned his stripes. However, yes, however,
they is JJ Reddick, who is considered a brilliant basketball mind.
There is JJ Reddick, oh, who's a commentator and is

(27:06):
on the A team for the ABC games calling them
with darbis Burg and Mike Breen. And as Doc Rivers
articulated the other day, Doc Rivers started off started off
as a broadcaster before ultimately becoming a head coach.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
Okay, we've seen this done before.

Speaker 3 (27:22):
I'm of the mindset wishing nothing but the best for
JJ Reddick. I find it more than a mere coincidence
that him and Lebron James are doing that damn podcast together.
I mean, we were born at night, not last night.
So clearly Lebron James is interested in JJ Reddick being
a head.

Speaker 1 (27:37):
Coach, and I'm not knocking that.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
But Sam Coussell has waited for years and he and
he's somebody that I think deserves this opportunity.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
That's where I'm at with it.

Speaker 4 (27:48):
What about you, I'm in the same place. Right. Here's
the thing. Let me say this again, Rob pul Lincoln,
Jennie Buds.

Speaker 5 (27:58):
This should not be a Lebron James higher when it
comes down to your head coach, this should be an
Anthony Date and Anthony Davis. Higher, Anthony Davis is the
guy that's in his prime.

Speaker 4 (28:13):
You have to bring a coach in.

Speaker 5 (28:15):
That's gonna have the best, that's gonna be, that's gonna
do the best for Anthony Davis. You donnas Haslam. I
had to call him and tell him I appreciated him yesterday.
He did a great job on NBA to date. He
came out and you know what he said. He said,
I'm gonna say it. He said, if you hire JJ Reddy,
it's gonna be clinical in that locker room. And he's right,

(28:36):
he said, to be what clinical?

Speaker 3 (28:39):
Okay, media meaning media to the audience.

Speaker 5 (28:43):
So so what he's saying basically is is that when JJ,
if JJ do get the job, is JJ words coming
from JJ or they coming from Lebron James, right, And
no matter how you want to look at it, guys
are gonna be with that side out like yeah, all right,
that's what.

Speaker 4 (29:03):
He really mean that.

Speaker 5 (29:04):
And you know, at the end of the day comes
down to Anthony Davis, Right, take Lebron out of this.
If JJ gets this job, his main focus needs to
be Anthony Davis.

Speaker 4 (29:17):
But I'm with you.

Speaker 5 (29:18):
We just watched the assistant from the Celsius. I can't
forget his name. Who just got the harness job?

Speaker 4 (29:24):
Chris?

Speaker 1 (29:24):
Chris forgot Chris A.

Speaker 5 (29:26):
Great guy, great guy. But guess who else sitting on
that bench? Who you just named? Sam cassell Man. He's
paid his dues. He's one at a high level for us.
As a player, He's played with Hall of famous you know,
out of control hall of famers. He's had positive impact
on every single player that he's that, he's coached, he's

(29:47):
been under great mentorship. Why not give him my opportunity?

Speaker 4 (29:52):
Why not? He's paid his due.

Speaker 5 (29:55):
I think he should be the lead candidate for this
Lakers job. I'm talking about Sam cassell got you.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
I'm with you. I gotta get on out of here.
Appreciate the time, Big Perk, Thanks so much for my brother.
I'll see you know always, always always see you see
my brother.

Speaker 4 (30:09):
You take it.

Speaker 2 (30:09):
Easy, all right? Coming up. The w n b A
tipped off its.

Speaker 3 (30:13):
Season last night with Caitlin Clark's w in the Las
Vegas Aces raising their banner as well.

Speaker 1 (30:19):
Did you see Kelsey Plumb and Asia Wilson entering the arena?
Who better to discuss that with?

Speaker 3 (30:25):
Then today's guest a rapper signed a Jay Z's Rock Nation,
who's also a national champion.

Speaker 2 (30:30):
Ball a by the way, with a w NBA future
as well.

Speaker 3 (30:34):
I'm talking about the incomparable flow j. That's how I
like to pronounce a flow Jay Johnson. She'll correct my
pronunciation when we get back. It's a Stevenski show.

Speaker 1 (30:44):
Now come on back in a minute.

Speaker 3 (30:53):
Okay, everybody you know what Tom it is Tomas stephen
A's weekly picks.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
The NBA players in the w NBA are in full swing.

Speaker 3 (30:59):
So I've teamed up Prospects to bring you my favorite,
my favorite, my favorite sports picks each and every single week.
If you don't know by now, Prospects is a skill based,
real money daily fantasy sports game where you pick two
to three or even up to six players and choose
if they'll have more or less then they're predicted in
game stats.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
But the best part is that it's not just basketball.
You can pick from literally any sport you love to watch.

Speaker 2 (31:22):
Y'all, you think.

Speaker 3 (31:23):
I'm joking This baseball, this soccer, this tennis, this's golf.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
Davin doesn't even cricket. Okay.

Speaker 3 (31:29):
The list is endless, and if you go to Prospects,
dot com right now and use promo code says you
receive a one hundred percent the positivotus up to one
hundred dollars. You heard me, right now, go to prospects
dot com type of mindities sas to get a first
time de positive match up to one hundred dollars. But
I will not be selecting a sport today. I'm doing
something a little different, and I'll be choosing more or

(31:51):
less than four and a half streaming services you should
subscribe to. How could y'all even ask me this damn question?
Don't y'all No, I'm a product of the TV generation.
Don't you know how addicted I am to movies? Okay,
the television show sitcoms, stuff like that, HBO, Max obviously, ESPN,
obviously Stars Okay.

Speaker 1 (32:13):
You know Peacock.

Speaker 3 (32:15):
I like that Prime Video like that. I mean, come
on now.

Speaker 2 (32:19):
It's old.

Speaker 3 (32:20):
Everything that's out there. I want it all to four
and a half. Please, It's got to be more. It's
got to be more. It's got to be more. I'm
usually picking more because with Prospects you're always aiming for more, right,
you ain't aiming for less when it comes to putting
some stuff in your pocket. You always want more, not
trying to be gluttonless, but in certain respects obviously that
works for you if you're trying to make your wallets
as fat as possible by picking the right picks. So

(32:42):
my thinking as usual is more. If you want to
see every movie and show you'll want to watch, it's
got to be more than four and a half apps.

Speaker 1 (32:52):
It's just got to be. Got to be that way,
trust me on this.

Speaker 3 (32:59):
Talk about to see the Nate Smith show right here
with the digital air whears of YouTube. The w NBA
season tipped off last night, and many eyes were on
the number one overall pick, Miss Caitlyn Clark and the
Indiana Fever, who took on the Connecticut Sun. Clark scored
twenty points in her debut, shooting just five or fifteen
from the field to commited ten damn turnovers of crown
out loud. The Fever loss to the Sun ninety two

(33:20):
to seventy one. That's a blowout loss. That's not that impressive.
But let me tell you something Aboutkaitlyn Clark. The girl
hit five shots right, she hit a few threes right.

Speaker 1 (33:28):
What the hell is she in the WNBA for to
shoot threes.

Speaker 3 (33:31):
She can pull up from the low go and they
would double team in her in the first half of
the game. So she's giving you an indication of what's coming.
She's no joke, she can play, she's she's a treasure
for the WNBA. And listen, a rising tide lifts all boats.
So like I've encouraged everybody, go at this girl on
the court, challenge her, make sure she understands there's levels

(33:54):
to this and she better have herself ready. But in
the end, that doesn't mean you don't appreciate what she
brings to the table and how she's elevating the sport
and the profile of the sport so everybody can benefit,
not just her.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
I appreciate Katelyn Clark.

Speaker 3 (34:08):
But I also appreciate the greatness Evasion Willson, Diana Tarrossi.

Speaker 2 (34:12):
And the rest of the crew too.

Speaker 3 (34:13):
The girls ain't playing and we got to take notice,
all right, and Caitlyn Clark is heavily contributing to that.

Speaker 2 (34:21):
Not to mention the fact that you got the girls
who charted.

Speaker 1 (34:23):
Jets now because of this woman.

Speaker 3 (34:25):
There were no charter jets with WNBA players until that
girl opened her mouth. Now, I know some people are
out there pissed off because.

Speaker 1 (34:32):
They go, like this man, she's white and she's white.
And when she spoke up, that's when it happened. Who cares, Ah,
you happy about the charter flight right now?

Speaker 3 (34:40):
I mean, I don't like your late to the party,
but better late than never. So lets everybody benefit from it,
and as long as the sisters and everybody else's benefit
from it.

Speaker 2 (34:49):
At the end of the.

Speaker 3 (34:50):
Day, it got done what needed to get done, and
that's the profile elevating, the cachet elevating, and the respect
elevating even more.

Speaker 2 (34:59):
That's how I'm looking.

Speaker 3 (35:00):
At Caitlyn Clark, and I suspect I'm not alone. Meanwhile,
it was also opening night for the Las Vegas Aces,
who received their championship rings in the front of the
home crap. But did y'all see the arrival outfits of
stars like Asia Wilson previously mentioned and Kelsey Plump.

Speaker 1 (35:15):
Well, social media did check this out, y'all. Look at
Kelsey Plumb right there.

Speaker 3 (35:20):
I mean, I mean, you got to be bold, you
got to be confident.

Speaker 1 (35:25):
To be rocking that.

Speaker 3 (35:26):
And I have to admit Asia Wilson, I mean, look,
I'm a dad of two daughters. You know, that's just
me being an old fashioned kind.

Speaker 2 (35:38):
Of dude that I am.

Speaker 3 (35:39):
I want you covered up a little bit more, but
I'm not blind. Asia Wilson looked pretty damn fly.

Speaker 2 (35:44):
Okay, that's a fly ass outfit right there. And she
looked damn good in it.

Speaker 3 (35:49):
Okay, and you're six eight six nine, you got legs
like that, I can't knock them. The outfit was slamming.
She looked great in it. Stalin and profiling, I gotta
give credit what credit is doing, stand down and say
they both look pretty damn good. They really really did
athletic with beauty and obviously marketing genius as well.

Speaker 1 (36:13):
Gotta give it up the ladies of the future.

Speaker 3 (36:16):
They the pastor the president of the future, if you're
being quite honest with you, every man, And that's smart nose.

Speaker 1 (36:22):
Women are what makes the world go around. It's not
really us.

Speaker 4 (36:25):
We just followed the lead.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
That's just the way it goes.

Speaker 3 (36:28):
Which is a beautiful transition to my next guest, because
my guest is a big reason women's college basketball is
on fire right now.

Speaker 2 (36:36):
She is a star player for the LSU Tigers.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
And that's not all.

Speaker 3 (36:39):
She's a fashion icon, a top NIL earner, and did
I mention she's also a rapper with a big time
music career on the horizon. I'm talking about the one
and only Flage. We ain't gonna even say.

Speaker 1 (36:51):
Your last name.

Speaker 2 (36:52):
It's did I pronounce the rights perfect?

Speaker 1 (36:55):
Thank you so much. It's such a pleasure. How you
doing that? I see that, Iceman. I thought my watch
was not.

Speaker 8 (37:00):
I mean, yours just blinging love.

Speaker 3 (37:01):
I mean, but I ain't blinging like Dan yours.

Speaker 8 (37:04):
Just talking about Is.

Speaker 4 (37:05):
That how you roll?

Speaker 3 (37:06):
Is that how you roll on on on on LSU campus?

Speaker 8 (37:10):
Yeah? Sometimes I don't wear my cuban.

Speaker 7 (37:12):
Usually cause it's pretty big and here's my neck, but
I wear I wear my.

Speaker 2 (37:15):
Wife right right?

Speaker 1 (37:16):
How has life been for you?

Speaker 3 (37:19):
I would say I couldn't ask now because the advent
of name, image and likeness and what opportunities it's presented
for a lot of ladies out there, a lot of
star athletes, which clearly you are.

Speaker 1 (37:29):
One of them.

Speaker 3 (37:30):
But I would say, since you're won the national title,
people forget y'all.

Speaker 1 (37:34):
Might have lost to Iowa before, you might have lost in.

Speaker 3 (37:37):
The NCAA tournament, but the year before that you were
the reigning defending National champions Right, what.

Speaker 1 (37:41):
Has life been like for you over the last couple
of years.

Speaker 7 (37:44):
I mean, it's honestly, it's been life changing. I'm not
gonna lie, like and I'm in the midst of it,
but like, I'm still a fan of the game, you
know what I'm saying.

Speaker 8 (37:51):
I'm still a fan of seeing.

Speaker 7 (37:53):
Kaitlyn Clark angeon Reese, like all of these figures, you know,
change the game, and to be a part of that,
like as a fan first is so dope. Like even
doing stuff like this like this is I watched this
on TV all the time, so thank you so much.
Just coming up into it and being able to impact
has just been amazing.

Speaker 3 (38:09):
What do you think the reason for it has been?
I mean, is it the fact that you won the
National Championship? Is it the fact that women are getting
more more shine, more of.

Speaker 1 (38:18):
A profile than ever before. What do you think the
reason for it is.

Speaker 7 (38:21):
I kind of just think it's the time, Like it
was a perfect time as NIL started to become big.
Everybody thought that the men were going to be the
face of NIL and then boom, I don't know where
the women started running it, you know what I'm saying.
Getting all the brand deals more and more. So it's
just like it was just a spike. I think it
was bound to happen in women's sports.

Speaker 8 (38:40):
Everybody watched those women's sports now.

Speaker 3 (38:42):
Well, first of all, I personally believe it's the wise
way to go, because listen, I got nothing but love
for my brothers, no doubt about that. But when you
talk about marketing, particularly in this day and age, and
making sure that you can rely and trust that folks
will going to show up every day market your.

Speaker 1 (39:00):
Brand the way you want them to market your brand.

Speaker 3 (39:03):
I would trust the lady before I trust us.

Speaker 7 (39:06):
I mean, and it's like now it's like superstars. We
never really had stars in our game.

Speaker 8 (39:12):
Now we have stars.

Speaker 7 (39:13):
We have Asia Wilson, we have Kaitlin Clark, we got
we are all.

Speaker 8 (39:16):
The ghosts of the of our time in the WNBA.

Speaker 7 (39:19):
And I think it was just time, like now that
nil penetrated college, it kind of made that way for
sports to blow up, and like it happened, and it
happened so quick, and I was like a melting pot
of talent everywhere.

Speaker 1 (39:29):
What was your first NIL deal?

Speaker 7 (39:32):
My first NIL deal was a shoe deal. I got
mine in high school. Wow, right right before I came
to college, you got an n.

Speaker 1 (39:40):
IL Dealer's a high school player. You high school American?
You high school american?

Speaker 2 (39:44):
Absolutely absolutely, no, No, I'm not that. Listen, I'm acknowledging it.

Speaker 1 (39:50):
I know.

Speaker 8 (39:51):
That's what I gotta let them know.

Speaker 1 (39:53):
That's what I let them know.

Speaker 3 (39:53):
You are high school all them a you Donald's all
American in twenty twenty two, and that's when you got
your first nil dealer?

Speaker 1 (39:59):
Sleek yep? How was it with Okay?

Speaker 7 (40:03):
Yeah, I was doing negotiations and I was studying for
exams in high school. It was crazy because right the
year that I was going into college, like inn Io
had really became like people wasn't scared to, you know,
dibble and.

Speaker 8 (40:14):
Dabble with it. And I got my shoe deal and
it was it was one of a kind, like and
I was so blessed.

Speaker 7 (40:19):
And even though I was going to a Nike school,
I was still like having a shoe deal.

Speaker 8 (40:22):
It's crazy.

Speaker 1 (40:23):
Wow, who negotiated your contract? Mama, Mama, mamadool cool.

Speaker 3 (40:28):
I mean you ain't got to worry about I mean,
she ain't gonna try to take a higher percentage.

Speaker 2 (40:32):
She ain't gonna she's gonna talk to you.

Speaker 3 (40:34):
But in the same breast she's gonna have your best jest.
You ain't got to wonder what the objective is where
she's going into the negotiating room for you, because Mama
gonna take you.

Speaker 7 (40:41):
I'm gonna make sure it's right, and Mama don't Mamma,
don't play.

Speaker 8 (40:45):
But my mama she take.

Speaker 7 (40:46):
Her percentage or whatever, because you know, she said, maybe
this is my business now, right, but she handled it
like my mama's the one.

Speaker 3 (40:52):
When she talks to you about your business and about
all the things you aspire to become.

Speaker 1 (40:59):
What's the kind of advice.

Speaker 3 (41:00):
Mama gives you, man, my momm and by the way,
tell the words your mama's name.

Speaker 1 (41:04):
We want to give your my.

Speaker 8 (41:06):
Mother Kia J. Brooks.

Speaker 7 (41:08):
Make sure your TFNA management company.

Speaker 8 (41:10):
She does sports and marketing.

Speaker 7 (41:11):
But no, my mom, she always tell me you can
make it happen. And then I kind of seen that
growing up, like my mom was a single mother that
raised me and my brother byself. You know, after my
father was murdered and she made it happen for us.
I said, I wanted to wrap she quit her job.

Speaker 8 (41:25):
She got me on TV shows. I want to play
basketball and I don't want to rap no more. She's like, no, baby,
you're gonna do both. You're gonna be one of the
biggest stars in the world. That's what she told me.

Speaker 7 (41:33):
So my mama kind of conjured up this whole plan,
and I just happened to be extremely talented in music
and exceptional hard work on a basketball flo.

Speaker 3 (41:42):
You said that you wanted to use choose basketball, you
didn't want to rap no more.

Speaker 1 (41:46):
And she said y'all were going to do both.

Speaker 3 (41:48):
So you didn't want to rap anymore or you just
wanted to prioritize basketball.

Speaker 1 (41:52):
What was it?

Speaker 5 (41:53):
So?

Speaker 1 (41:53):
What it was?

Speaker 8 (41:54):
I haven't rapping since I was seven.

Speaker 7 (41:55):
Years old, and like you know how rap is different,
like you go up, you go down. I was on
a TV show, so I was super famous and then
stuff slowed down.

Speaker 8 (42:03):
Money wasn't coming in. I'm like, all right, well, I'm
just gonna hoot. Mom. She was like, no, man, you're
gonna do both.

Speaker 2 (42:07):
And how old were you when you said this to
your mama?

Speaker 7 (42:09):
Well, I was probably what in ninth grade?

Speaker 2 (42:13):
Ninth grade?

Speaker 7 (42:14):
She about fourteen, fifteen years old, right before Americas got talent.

Speaker 3 (42:17):
Right before Americans sided talent at age fourteen to fifty,
you telling mama, look, the money ain't coming in.

Speaker 2 (42:22):
That's what you're saying.

Speaker 7 (42:22):
But yes, you gotta understand though, Like after the rap game,
I was getting booked, like I was doing shows.

Speaker 8 (42:27):
I was on the road like I was kind of
like a kid star. So I was getting money.

Speaker 7 (42:31):
And then I was supposed to sign this deal and
stuff just wasn't working out, and.

Speaker 8 (42:34):
I was getting tired.

Speaker 7 (42:35):
I was like, Mama, hoop because I could hoop, like
I bought for real, Like that's like my safe space,
so told her. But at that time I wasn't even
like on like a real AAU circuit, like I was
just playing the La Fitness. I was outside with the guys,
just playing. But once I started training and stuff and
I seen where like this rap music and then basketball
thing can really take it.

Speaker 8 (42:53):
I was like, I'm so glad my mama told me that.

Speaker 3 (42:56):
Now when she talked to you about staying in the
rap game, I mean, I'm gonna.

Speaker 1 (43:00):
Ask you, Fly Jane, ruh, how's the skills? How's the
rap skills? I mean I don't know.

Speaker 3 (43:06):
I mean Kendrick Perkins and and and Cheneo Goobik. My
colleagues at ESPN, they were just on talking about you,
and they're like.

Speaker 1 (43:14):
You ain't heard this girl. The girl's got skills. She's
something special. Sleeping then she's some special. It's like that.
It's like that you got those kind of skills.

Speaker 3 (43:20):
I got them, he said, I want to hear it,
floor yours, take your time, take you time.

Speaker 1 (43:26):
I'm waiting.

Speaker 2 (43:27):
I got to hear this.

Speaker 1 (43:28):
I would see this.

Speaker 7 (43:29):
Look big is the super dome fly the sick at
the spit it.

Speaker 8 (43:32):
She's super cold. I've been holding my weight down. Super Swow.

Speaker 7 (43:35):
I'll probably be the first hooper that they lay actually
play at.

Speaker 8 (43:38):
The super Bowl. Sit my checks in our caps because
I'm super Bowl. Got a chip out in Dallas, my
Luca Flow, Mark Cuban Doe. I assume you know that
I'm soon to blow.

Speaker 7 (43:45):
Ain't nobody bigger than Foe or top average? Your team
never did it before March Madness. I mean, when I
get in that mold, I'm not averaging lean. When I
get on the flow, it's not balanced. That Just a
little bit, just to let you know that my project
about to drop. Best of both World June thirty, first
is coming out.

Speaker 1 (44:01):
Oh my goodness, Oh.

Speaker 2 (44:05):
My lord, that was off the coup.

Speaker 7 (44:07):
I mean, when I get in that, molde, I'm not average,
y'all go get that.

Speaker 3 (44:11):
And I'm imagining you did that a lot with the
fellas on the basketball court while you were competing against him.

Speaker 8 (44:16):
Man, like music is in my blood. Like music. My dad,
My dad camouflaged.

Speaker 7 (44:21):
He was a rapper from Savannah, Georgia. He died before
I was born, but man, he was on the way,
He was on his way. He was signed a universe
for a lot of people knew him, and you know,
they killed him. So I always felt like I had
to keep that legacy going, and then it kind of
turned into my own things. So that's a bigger reason
for the music.

Speaker 1 (44:38):
Let me transition to that for a quick second.

Speaker 3 (44:40):
Obviously, it was before you were born, and you talked
about your father was taken away from y'all. My condolences
your mom. What did your mom? What would your mom
say about him? What are the kind of things that
she told you about him? Because I imagine she sees
him when she looks at you.

Speaker 7 (44:58):
Yeah, she does, like we looked just I've seen them
pictures all the time. My mom always told me my
daddy was like kind, he always made people smile, he
was charismad.

Speaker 8 (45:06):
And he could light up the room.

Speaker 7 (45:07):
So she always told me good things and I wanted
to embody that, like, I always try to be like
my dad, And I feel like the way did I
do that is I connect with him through music. You
know what I'm saying, because like that's the only thing
I have but like from him.

Speaker 3 (45:19):
Right, because I'm asking, is that ultimately what inspired you
as well to stick with the rap game?

Speaker 1 (45:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (45:27):
Yeah, because I will always think I go back to
my city and be like what could have been?

Speaker 3 (45:32):
But you know, I just like, well what could have
been is what it is because what you're doing. Obviously
he's inspiring that. Mama's reminded you of the inspiration you're provided.
You're being provided so clearly it's like it's vicariously through
you seeing him. It's a beautiful, beautiful thing. Rot Nation,
jay Z and the crew. You connected with them now.

Speaker 8 (45:53):
The big dogs. Man, let me tell you how that happened.

Speaker 1 (45:55):
Please, I'm listening.

Speaker 8 (45:57):
My man JJ Millo, Mello's manager.

Speaker 7 (46:01):
He wanted me to play on his AAU team, right
Lamello Ball cause he got a.

Speaker 8 (46:04):
Puma c herkeys, like she signed the pool and that
would be great.

Speaker 7 (46:07):
But my mom was like, bruh, she' a rapper too,
Like she's not. She can't just do that. Like we
got stuff going on. He was like, okay, bet see
me some music. Next thing I know, I'm on the
on the phone with the president of Rock Nation. They like, Flaje, congratulations,
we wanna have you. I'm like, oh my gosh. At
this point, I'm like, I think I'm like seventeen eighteen,
Like it's probably going into like my senior senior junior year.

Speaker 8 (46:27):
Right after that, my life kind of changed.

Speaker 7 (46:31):
So they was like, you know, we wanna sign you
to a distribution deal where you can own all your
masters and where you can have creative control. We don't
wanna lock you in the deal right which.

Speaker 1 (46:39):
I know is music to your mama's ears.

Speaker 2 (46:41):
What is a business woman right there?

Speaker 1 (46:42):
Own your own masters.

Speaker 3 (46:43):
I'm not being locked in having the freedom to independence.

Speaker 2 (46:46):
Yes, that's out.

Speaker 1 (46:47):
I ain't met your mother, and I know that you're
gonna love her.

Speaker 2 (46:50):
Yeah, you gonna love her.

Speaker 7 (46:51):
She was like, yeah, that's the one we won't And
I grew into the deal and then as I g
as I got older, went to LSU and my brand grew,
the music started from more. You know, I just signed
a bigger deal so and I'm still you know owing,
my master is.

Speaker 8 (47:04):
Still in control. It's really a boss deal.

Speaker 7 (47:06):
So you know, the people that rot nation, they just
want to see me.

Speaker 8 (47:09):
Grow into like a boss.

Speaker 7 (47:11):
Like, look who came from over there? A lot of
billionaires and.

Speaker 8 (47:13):
That's what you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (47:14):
Oh, g one, that's my boy.

Speaker 8 (47:16):
I'm on the cuff. I'm going that way.

Speaker 1 (47:18):
That's right, no question about it.

Speaker 3 (47:20):
Seventeen nil deals worth seven figures.

Speaker 1 (47:24):
That's where you're at right now.

Speaker 3 (47:27):
Wow, I imagine you knew that, but when you hear it, yeah,
and it reaches that realization it in bought yet money, sure,
but a lot of commitment.

Speaker 1 (47:39):
Yeah, how do you feel about that?

Speaker 7 (47:40):
I feel real strong about it because the money is
a blessing, don't get me wrong. Like I got to
change my family life and invest in everything. But the
thing for me is more so the accountability and building
that business brand and trust because if you if you,
if you promote something and you do everything you're supposed
to do it, you're gonna get more and more deals.

Speaker 8 (47:58):
You're gonna get more and more.

Speaker 7 (47:59):
Good commerce of me handling my business being a business woman,
not playing on people time handling business. If I gotta
do the post, i gotta do the content. That's what
I gotta do, you know what I'm saying. But that
only line up for bigger things. So I'm happy to
be able to have that on my plate. Like a
lot of kids don't have an io deals. People think,
you go to college, I'm abou to get it.

Speaker 8 (48:16):
Don't work like that.

Speaker 7 (48:17):
So I'm blessed to be in a predicament because so
many college athletes.

Speaker 3 (48:20):
That that's a very adult thing to say, And it's.

Speaker 1 (48:24):
A credit to you that you get that already.

Speaker 3 (48:27):
There are people who are older than you that still
don't get that. Do you see that? When you do
see it, do you say anything to them about it?
How are you knowing the experience that you have and
the credictions that you bring to the table to back
up any word that you utter out of your mouth
and influence lives. What kind of responsibility do you feel

(48:49):
towards that and do you embrace it in terms of
reaching out and talking to people to educate them about
the kind of pitfalls they need to guard themselves against.

Speaker 8 (48:58):
I get it. You gotta really where I come from.
I come from Savannah, Georgia.

Speaker 7 (49:02):
You know what I'm saying, Like that city is nothing
to play with. My dad died in that city. My
mom and dad got killed in that city. My stepdad
dad got kill in that city. So like it's bigger
than me because I see kids, I made it out.
I know that I didn't see nobody in a predictatment.
I couldn't grab it, reach and touch nobody in that place.
I want to build a resource center in my city
where I could really leave an imprint on my on

(49:23):
my community, cause that's where I gotta start. I want
to show them that you can make it happen. You
don't gotta sell drugs, you don't gotta rob do, you
really don't even gotta wrap. You really don't even got
to play basketball. I'm going to get my degree too,
you see what I'm saying. So I'm just trying to
show the kids like you can do it in a
positive way. That's what I'm doing, and I'm definitely gonna
leave it like that impact.

Speaker 8 (49:41):
Is so it's so necessary.

Speaker 7 (49:43):
I always use a quote make sure you aspire to inspire.

Speaker 8 (49:47):
Before you expire.

Speaker 1 (49:48):
That's a great quote.

Speaker 8 (49:49):
That's how you help me.

Speaker 1 (49:51):
I'm going to steal that. I'm going to steal that
from you. Make no mistake about it.

Speaker 2 (49:55):
Listen.

Speaker 1 (49:55):
I mean, because it's very important exactly what you're saying.
You're one thousand percent right. How helpful are the brands
you represent?

Speaker 2 (50:02):
How helpful are they towards you?

Speaker 3 (50:05):
In this vision that you have a resource center it's
Avanta Georgia.

Speaker 2 (50:09):
That's a big deal.

Speaker 1 (50:10):
I would imagine.

Speaker 3 (50:10):
I can't imagine a brand that wouldn't want to provide
assistance and you achieving that goal exactly.

Speaker 7 (50:15):
And you know, we just did a six figure give
back in my city last year where JBO partner with
us Pulma Experience.

Speaker 8 (50:24):
We partnered with It was more of my if I.

Speaker 1 (50:28):
Met her raising King's Taco Bell. I'm seeing a few parts.

Speaker 7 (50:30):
So many people we did a give back, three thousand
people came out. We was able to bless so many kids,
so many parents. But that was just the start of it.
I'm doing that annually, a give back and trying to
do things during Christmas and just build up that foundation side.

Speaker 3 (50:44):
You know, I watched you, I remember during the Ncules
telling them in particularly when y'all lost in Andel Reis,
who said, by her side and spoke up about your
former teammate, I love that girl.

Speaker 1 (50:56):
She's special, special talent, special person.

Speaker 3 (50:59):
I thought that at times, I said, because she's bold
and she's strong, and you know, you could see how
defiant she could be because when you.

Speaker 1 (51:06):
Try to come at us, she gonna fight.

Speaker 2 (51:08):
That's what she does, right.

Speaker 3 (51:09):
But I also felt like there were times where she
was going to possibly set herself up to be a target.

Speaker 1 (51:15):
I was worried about that you seen.

Speaker 3 (51:18):
To come to her a you felt this need to
really be defensive of her.

Speaker 1 (51:22):
What were you see that you.

Speaker 3 (51:24):
Wanted that made you feel compelled to say something to
the world, Because when I watched you talk about her,
you weren't.

Speaker 1 (51:31):
Just talking about Angel Reech.

Speaker 3 (51:32):
You were talking about a whole bunch of injurieses out there.

Speaker 1 (51:35):
You were sending a message.

Speaker 3 (51:36):
To the world that a new day had arrived and
y'all need to show the level of respect.

Speaker 8 (51:41):
Yeah. I think.

Speaker 7 (51:42):
I honestly think, like people get sold, they forget about
like social media's real life, like behind the keyboard, behind
the clicks, and behind all the clickbait. It's still real
people like and real feelings and real emotions, And I
just felt like she had the weight of the world
on her shoulder, you know what I'm saying. She was
carrying it very well, but like this at the same time,

(52:02):
people human, and I think people I think I just
had to feel like that's what needed to be said
shined on her because of the type of you know,
how she is on the court. People will try to
make that like that's all her, but that's not, you know.

Speaker 8 (52:17):
What I'm saying.

Speaker 7 (52:17):
So I just felt like it was a lot of
screwiny going on.

Speaker 8 (52:20):
It was getting on my nerves. I hate bad vibes.

Speaker 7 (52:22):
I love pushing positivity like and the fact that she
was getting all that hate, I'm like, bruh, this is
supposed to be a good time.

Speaker 8 (52:28):
Like we birthing.

Speaker 7 (52:29):
WNBA superstars right now, Like don't like they still figuring.

Speaker 8 (52:33):
It out too.

Speaker 3 (52:34):
Did you feel that way just about her or were
those feelings shame or shared rather about what level of
venom was being thrown in the direction of your coach
Kim Mouki. A lot of way of full time natural
at least where they think that this is sport national
championship she has at this point cause we're one of
the greatest coaches in the history of women's.

Speaker 2 (52:52):
Basket door or basketball period.

Speaker 1 (52:54):
Did you feel the same way when it came to her.

Speaker 7 (52:56):
I felt that same way, same way about my coach,
And I felt the same way about how Kaitlyn Clark
started getting hat too.

Speaker 8 (53:02):
I feel it about everybody. Like it's not just like
that's just what I see. Right is right and wrong
is wrong.

Speaker 7 (53:07):
You see what I'm saying, Like, we got people that's
changing the game, and we rather spew negativity on something
that we really don't know nothing about at.

Speaker 1 (53:13):
The end of the day, got you, I understand.

Speaker 3 (53:15):
Look before I let you get on out of here,
Like I said, I brought up jay Z's Rock Nation,
who you signed with your first studio EP called.

Speaker 2 (53:22):
Best of Both Worlds drops in June.

Speaker 1 (53:24):
Oh Man, talk to me about that.

Speaker 7 (53:26):
It's gonna be super crazy, a different side of me,
more mature. The music is amazing, the visuals are impeccable,
and it's just like it's my time to show people
that I really have the best of the worlds. I
never really dropped the full project, but I'm.

Speaker 8 (53:39):
Letting them know I do basketball.

Speaker 3 (53:40):
I do music too, and you're doing basketball, you're doing music. Okay,
what's in the basketball future? I mean, let's talk about
what you think is in your future. I mean, how
you feel about you?

Speaker 1 (53:52):
Man.

Speaker 8 (53:53):
I felt like this year.

Speaker 7 (53:56):
I came into my own, like at the end of
the season of who I am as a player. And
at my freshman year, I tasted victory.

Speaker 8 (54:04):
You don't know that feeling. When you taste victory then.

Speaker 2 (54:06):
It's right there.

Speaker 7 (54:07):
And this year it was so close and I didn't
do enough to pull my team across the finish line.
I'm coming back for visions, Like it's a lot of
stuff that I need.

Speaker 1 (54:15):
But you gonna be having You're gonna have to do
it without Angel. She is a w NBA now that.

Speaker 7 (54:21):
Angel.

Speaker 8 (54:22):
She a beast. But like it's it's it's like next
man up.

Speaker 7 (54:25):
Now I'm go'na have to depend on my teammates and
i'm'a have to lead 'em like we would m be
missing a.

Speaker 8 (54:29):
Big part of Angel.

Speaker 7 (54:30):
But like still LSU you up them three letters on
your chest and I take that seriously?

Speaker 3 (54:35):
Is that what coach told you? That you that they
they're gonna lean on you you're gonna have to lead.

Speaker 7 (54:39):
Yeah, But that's how I already felt last year. I
already knew this time was coming. I had to step
up the lead eight I had to step.

Speaker 3 (54:46):
Up right transitioning back, I'm imagining the next question I'm
gonna ask you before I let you get on out
of here.

Speaker 1 (54:52):
It's relatable to your dad, relatable.

Speaker 3 (54:54):
To you know, your grandfather uncle. I believe you remember
dirrectly you you know, not to say that they were
in any way related to this, but you visit prisons,
talk to inmates, to life. Why is that important to you?

Speaker 8 (55:09):
Man?

Speaker 7 (55:10):
Just cause where I'm from, right, and I know a
lot of people, a lot of people in those situations
they mess up, but still people and they need hope,
like you.

Speaker 8 (55:20):
Know what I'm saying.

Speaker 7 (55:21):
And I've lost a lot of my family members to
the system, a lot of friends going the wrong way,
like you know what I'm saying, and just coming up
the world.

Speaker 8 (55:28):
We come up so, like you know what I'm saying,
just trying to survive, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 7 (55:32):
So I try to just give people hope. Like I'm
not the type that's gonna be okay.

Speaker 8 (55:36):
I'm here and I'm.

Speaker 7 (55:38):
At the top of the pole, you know what I'm saying,
But I to forget about the people at the bottom.
Most people need hope too, you know what I'm saying.
So I just try to impact people in any way
that I can. Some people just need motivation to spark
that change. Some people just need to hear the right
thing at the right time for the right person.

Speaker 8 (55:51):
Maybe I could be a vessel for.

Speaker 1 (55:52):
That, but I think you can too.

Speaker 3 (55:55):
The only thing that I would worry about is that
you're so terrific it will only build expects and in
the process of building next to I'm not talking about
you as a rap artist. I'm not talking about you
as a basketball player. I'm talking about you as a
human being. Because you're going to be so impactful. Because
you're already so impactful, people will expect more and more
and more and the same people, and you're in the
circle that's gonna be that do this, do that. They're

(56:17):
gonna be loved the same, the will of the ones
that's saying, Okay, now it's time to dollar back because
they ask us for too much, too much weight on
your shoulder. I wonder about that, and are you ready?
Is anybody I'm imagining that mama is gonna be at
the front lines bracing you for that and also protecting
you from that.

Speaker 7 (56:35):
Yeah, my mom, she says it all the toime. She
kind of in my team. They's like, we gotta protect
you from yourself. Like sometimes you too nice. Yes, that's
what they tell me, Like, sometimes you're too nice. And
I'm learning, you know what I'm saying. My mama always
tell me, don't touch that, and I was just like,
I gotta touch it, like you know what I'm saying.
But I'm learning as I go, So I try to
make kind of make everything make sense. And I really
listen to them though, like I give them a hard time,

(56:57):
but I listen to them. And I got a lot
of advisors around you, so they advised me.

Speaker 1 (57:01):
To do you know what you you and you're sitting
here talking to me.

Speaker 3 (57:03):
We sound like we got a lot in common, especially
in terms of our background. But the one thing that
we don't have in common is when they say you
too nice.

Speaker 1 (57:10):
Nobody accuses me of Nobody accuse me off. You're too nice.
But girl, you're an inspiration. All the best to you.
I'm so proud of you, so happy for you.

Speaker 2 (57:19):
Always, always, always.

Speaker 1 (57:20):
Here for you whatever you need.

Speaker 3 (57:21):
I know you're gonna do big things and good luck
next year, no question about it.

Speaker 1 (57:25):
My thanks to the one.

Speaker 3 (57:26):
And only Flugjay being right here in the house, and
we be sure to check out best of both worlds
in June.

Speaker 1 (57:32):
Just like I said, all right, coming up?

Speaker 3 (57:34):
Tyrese leaves the stage and the building in the middle
of his concert. But why And Aaron Rodgers is making
waves again with this controversial comments in an interview with
mister Tucker Carson. I've got something to say about all that,
plus more. Plus I'll react to your tweets as well.

Speaker 1 (57:51):
Stick around.

Speaker 3 (57:52):
You're watching the stephen Ate Smithshold right here over the
digital area your YouTube.

Speaker 1 (57:56):
Back with more than a minute.

Speaker 3 (58:03):
Oh my lord, have you been watching the NBA players,
because you know I have, and yes they've been fantastic,
make no mistike about it. But do you know what
else makes watching them even more exciting, even more sintilating prizpects?
Of course, that's what the hell I'm talking about. In
case you didn't know, you didn't know this. Prospects is
a daily fantasy ad where you can select two or
more of your favorite players and then pick.

Speaker 1 (58:23):
More or less on their projected stats for the game.
So with a big event happening each and.

Speaker 3 (58:28):

National Hockey League, even MMA and everything in between, and

(58:50):

one hundred dollars. You heard me right, Go toprospects dot
com and use code SAS. That's my initials of course,
for a first depositive match of up to one hundred dollars,
that's SAS.

Speaker 1 (59:01):
When you go to Prospects dot com.

Speaker 2 (59:03):
And use the promo code pick more, pick less.

Speaker 1 (59:06):
It's really really that easy. But I'm back to twous
Michael right here with the beach in YouTube.

Speaker 3 (59:13):
It seems nowhere is safe when the law is looking
for you. Over the weekend, R and B singer Tyrese
for a guest on this show.

Speaker 1 (59:21):
In the past, by the way, was.

Speaker 3 (59:22):
Performing in Atlanta when he made a hasty exit from
the stage. The singer apparently had three songs left on
his set list when a security guard approached him on
stage and whispered something in his ear. Tyrese then told
the crowd he loved them and abruptly left the stage.

(59:42):
TMZ reported the singer got winned that a process server
was in the venue attempting to serve him legal papers
regarding a defamation and libel lawsuit. Well, Dan, okay, I
ain't gonna lie to y'all. That's a legal matter. There's
nothing funny about it. But they'll a little kind of

(01:00:04):
funny with you in the middle of a concert, you
singing to the crowd, and you walking out the damn
arena singing. You undersaid everybody knowing what the hell is
going on here, that that was kind of wild.

Speaker 2 (01:00:13):
That's something that Tyrese might do.

Speaker 4 (01:00:15):
Though.

Speaker 1 (01:00:15):
Gee he marches to the beat of his own drum,
No doubt about it.

Speaker 3 (01:00:19):
All I'm gonna say, particularly to somebody is publicly known
as Tyrese is when it comes to the Lord, my brother,
I hope it's nothing. It's no real serious matter. It
sounds serious. I wish you nothing but the best, assuming
you deserve those well wishes, you harm nobody.

Speaker 1 (01:00:39):
Of course, I'm gonna.

Speaker 3 (01:00:41):
Obviously give you the benefit of the doubt on that stuff.
But I want to say this, when it comes to
the lawyer, you can run, but you can't hide.

Speaker 1 (01:00:48):
So the quicker you face the music, the.

Speaker 2 (01:00:49):
Quicker the situation is eradicated.

Speaker 1 (01:00:52):
That's just a little vice from Stephen that it just
a little advice. Take it for what it is worth.

Speaker 3 (01:00:57):
Let me move on to this subject because it's more
important to me, to be quite honest with you, that
this needs to be addressed. This involves New York Jets
quarterback Aaron Rodgers because he's making headlines again off the
playing field. Aaron Rodgers sat down with former Fox News
host Tucker Carlson on his program on X in an
interview released just this Tuesday. During the interview, Rogers praised

(01:01:21):
Russian President Vladimir Putin as quote interesting and smart individual.
But to be specific, because we want to be feared.
Here's what Rogers specifically had to say.

Speaker 1 (01:01:33):
Check it out.

Speaker 9 (01:01:34):
You did one of the most controversial, somehow not to me,
most controversial interviews in the last I don't know how
long when you went to Russia and did Putin. How
did it feel coming back? Because, like anybody watching the interviews,
like number one, it was fucking awesome. Number two, Putin
came off as an interesting, thoughtful, smart individual. And if
you've read nineteen eighty four, you know the base game

(01:01:56):
plan of government control is you have to have an
enemy and you have to slander that enemy, regardless if
you know anything about them. And I think a lot
of people are like, oh Putin apologists are like, you know,
you know, whitewashing all the stuff that he's done to
different people. And I was just like, no, I'd love
to see Joe Biden give an interview where you can
speak on the history of the United States in the
same way that Putin talked about the history of his country.

Speaker 1 (01:02:20):
What's the problem with that, ladies and gentlemen, what's the problem? Now?

Speaker 3 (01:02:26):
I know that there are people out there that are
going to have their back up a little bit, because
when you're talking about Vladimir Putin, you're talking about essentially
a dictator.

Speaker 1 (01:02:40):
You're talking about the.

Speaker 3 (01:02:41):
President of Russia who's invaded Ukraine. You're talking about everything
from elementary schools to hospitals to buildings, et cetera, et cetera,
that have been bombed by Russia. It is clearly a
war they instigated. Many many lives have been lost along
the way. And that is enough for you to say

(01:03:05):
you don't want to hear about Putin being smart and
interesting when some would consider him to be a very
vile individual. Couple of things. Number One, everybody's entitled to
their opinion. And number two, I didn't hear Aaron Rodgers
speaking on behalf of the character or the moral compass

(01:03:31):
of the Russian president. He was talking about how Vladimir
Putin came off in that interview with Tucker Carson. Both
things can be true. You could be a viol despicable
human being. You could be a murderer, you could be
a dictator, you could be a lot of different things.
But sitting down for an interview, somebody might find what

(01:03:53):
you had to say to be compelling and interesting. It's
not a crime for Aaron Rodgers to convey that point
of view, whether you agree or disagree. He didn't step
beyond the pale. He didn't step across the line and
say something that should cause.

Speaker 1 (01:04:11):
A national uproar.

Speaker 3 (01:04:13):
I do think it's gotten to the point where everything
that Aaron Rodgers utters out of his mouth is taken
in such a way that folks are looking for a
reason to get at him.

Speaker 1 (01:04:24):
I don't think that that calls for it.

Speaker 2 (01:04:27):
I really really don't.

Speaker 1 (01:04:28):
Again, most of us would feel differently.

Speaker 2 (01:04:31):
That's not the thought that.

Speaker 3 (01:04:32):
Would come to our mind when we're taking about Vladimir
Putin in this particular day and age, considering what's going
on in Ukraine and what we suspect and the things
that we've said about his stewardship over Russia.

Speaker 1 (01:04:47):
But that ain't where Aaron Rodgers went.

Speaker 3 (01:04:50):
He was talking about what he said Tutucker calls in
any interview, let's learn a compartment to compartment, mentalize and
isolate things on a case by case in a situational basis.

Speaker 1 (01:05:05):
That's all I'm saying. Nothing more about that. Let me
go to the other part of the interview with Amon
Rodgers and Calls.

Speaker 3 (01:05:11):
It took a Callson, which lasted more than two hours,
by the way, because it also focused on the pandemic
and the ethics of the COVID nineteen vaccine, which Amon
Rodgers opposed.

Speaker 1 (01:05:22):
Here's what Amon Rodgers said regarding that.

Speaker 9 (01:05:25):
I think it's time for a lot of us to
to maybe adjust some of the approach that we're doing.
I mean, obviously hasn't worked. We've been trying to wake
people up. I think. Yeah, with the studies that are
out there now all the time, with the articles, with
the change in stances by everybody from Chris Cuomo on

(01:05:48):
down who have either had vaccine injuries or side effects
or just look at things differently, and it's cosed me
to I think I have a little bit more empathy
and compassion for those people who have a ton of fear.
You know, thought they were doing the right thing, yes,
for themselves, for their friends, for the families, and went
through all the mass formation psychosis that we all did, yes,

(01:06:09):
just full court propaganda against us, and are now going,
oh shit, maybe maybe that wasn't the best. Maybe they
lied to us, maybe they weren't being truthful. Maybe this
wasn't safe. So I think it's important for us to
if we want to make a difference, with which I do,
and I don't necessarily want to be way, A part
of the conversation anymore is how do we call people

(01:06:32):
forward to like with compassion and kindness that just come
over to the side of being awake to what's going on,
because I think we all need to come to the
grips that this could happen again.

Speaker 3 (01:06:48):
Not so fast they amon rogers to crystallize matters. You
may not have flat out lie, but you were a
bit evasive, to say the least, and you did give

(01:07:08):
false pretense as to whether or not you had taken
the vaccine.

Speaker 1 (01:07:13):
You could take the vaccine, you could refuse to do so.

Speaker 3 (01:07:17):
A guy like Kyrie Irvin, who was then a member
of Brooklyn Nets, he refused to take the vaccine.

Speaker 1 (01:07:24):
He was very honest in the front about it, and
a lot.

Speaker 3 (01:07:28):
Of people out there mistakenly thought I was getting on
him for not taking vaccine.

Speaker 1 (01:07:31):
I wasn't getting on him for not taing the vaccine.

Speaker 3 (01:07:33):
I was getting on him because it was always it
was the latest excuse for him, the miswork. He had
played twenty nine games that year. There was always a
reason for Kyrie Irving to miswork. You ain't hear me
say nothing but praise for him this year, because he
played and he's been a.

Speaker 1 (01:07:45):
Star, and he's given the people what he signed up
and swore to give him.

Speaker 3 (01:07:52):
Whether it's the Dallas Mavericks franchise now, or what he
should have done in Brooklyn and Boston before that, what
he once did in Cleveland when he was a starter.
The with on James wasn't getting on them for not
taking the vaccine. But in the case of Aaron Rodgers,
you want to have cynics and critics who felt you
should take the vaccine. You want to have others who
felt otherwise. But because the rules implemented about the National

(01:08:14):
Football League, rules that you clearly wanted to circumvent, you
were not forthcoming. You talk about being immunized, and you
said you were immunized, giving an indication.

Speaker 1 (01:08:26):
That you had taken the vaccine when indeed.

Speaker 2 (01:08:27):
You had not.

Speaker 3 (01:08:30):
And at that time, because the world was scared shitless
because everybody thought that anybody who did it take the
vaccine was going to be in a position to potentially
contaminate them with the vaccine if.

Speaker 2 (01:08:43):
They ultimately acquired COVID.

Speaker 3 (01:08:47):
People having that innate fear because they were believing what
Aaron Rodgers clearly was not believing, in my eyes, was
enough justification for you to be honest about it and say, yo,
I didn't take the vaccine. People had a right to
know that because you were around teammates, you are around
team personnel, you are around other people. They had a

(01:09:08):
right to know that you were not vaccinated. So in
that regard, Aaron Rodgers, you do not get off the hook.
But everything else, Aaron Rodgers said, ladies and gentlemen, how
can we have a problem with that. You have some
people who are staunch supporters of the vaccine. You have

(01:09:31):
some people are supporters of the vaccines and the booster shots,
but now not supporters of the booster shots even though
they were supporters of the vaccine. You got others who
are questioning the vaccine. You got people, once upon a time,
doctor Fauci was such a huge figure, they had him
throwing out the first pitch at Washington National Games.

Speaker 1 (01:09:54):
Now the man.

Speaker 3 (01:09:54):
Retired, and you've got legislative officials wanting to go after him.

Speaker 1 (01:10:01):
You got some people in the public wanting him call.

Speaker 2 (01:10:03):
To the carpet because they believe.

Speaker 3 (01:10:06):
He's responsible for some of the things that have transpired
in our society in a negative fashion. Evolving around COVID
nineteen because of the panic it created.

Speaker 2 (01:10:17):
You've got debates.

Speaker 3 (01:10:19):
Taking place on national television courtesy of Fox News. When
the Florida Governor Ron de Santis was debating against the
California Governor Gavin Newsom.

Speaker 1 (01:10:28):
And what is Gavin Newsom?

Speaker 2 (01:10:30):
What has he been excoriated for?

Speaker 3 (01:10:32):
How he went into complete panic mode and shut down
the state of California in such a fashion that.

Speaker 1 (01:10:38):
Not only did it cost the state billions, but.

Speaker 3 (01:10:40):
They still haven't recovered where SLATA doesn't have that problem.

Speaker 2 (01:10:45):
And Ron DeSantis is widely considered.

Speaker 3 (01:10:48):
To have done a better job handling the COVID crisis
the Gavin Newsom has. So as we sit in and
we learn more and more information and learn more and
more news, I'm certainly not pretending to know anything. I
don't even know what I read. What I will acknowledge
is this whether right or whether wrong? No one can

(01:11:11):
say anything definitively. I took the vaccine.

Speaker 2 (01:11:16):
Hell I encouraged others to do it by doing PSA's
and stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (01:11:22):
Fair enough others that disagreed with me, however, I can't
knock them.

Speaker 1 (01:11:29):
They have the reasons for having their feelings.

Speaker 3 (01:11:32):
Aaron Rodgers is entitled to that, just like Tucker Carlson
is entitled to that, just like folks like Chris Culmore
and others are entitled to change their minds once they've
learned more and more about the facts. Popular podcast Patrick
Bett Davis spoke about.

Speaker 2 (01:11:49):
These things too.

Speaker 1 (01:11:50):
We learn more and more and more as we go on.

Speaker 3 (01:11:54):
The one thing that we're able to deduce from all
of this, and we must peel from all of this,
is that whether you agree with him or disagree with him,
Aaron Rodgers is not stupid. He's not senseless. He's not
the insensitive.

Speaker 2 (01:12:10):
Dude that people have excoriated.

Speaker 1 (01:12:12):
Him as being.

Speaker 3 (01:12:15):
And at least some of what he says, if not
a lot more than some of it, gets attached with
enough legitimacy to it that it will make you at
least say it's something we need to discuss. We can
no longer sit here and act like every word that

(01:12:36):
comes out of Aaron Rodgers' mouth makes no sense and
that he's completely clueless and he don't know what the
hell he's talking about. The man ain't stupid. There are
people like Joe Rogan and others who've agreed with.

Speaker 1 (01:12:51):
Him, and a lot of the things that he has said.

Speaker 3 (01:12:55):
Just because we dislike things sometimes don't mean we get
to dismiss it as complet letely false.

Speaker 1 (01:13:00):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:13:02):
I don't know the answer to these questions, but neither
do a lot of people who think differently than Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 1 (01:13:11):
So if we don't know, who are we to say
he doesn't know? It's worth listening to.

Speaker 3 (01:13:17):
It's all I'm saying, sworth listening to, instead of jumping
to this conclusion that he's somebody.

Speaker 1 (01:13:23):
That needs to be vilified and excoriated.

Speaker 3 (01:13:25):
I will say this about Aaron Rodgers, though, we really
don't give a shit about what you're saying.

Speaker 1 (01:13:30):
When you ain't throwing that damn.

Speaker 3 (01:13:31):
Football, get your ass back on that football field and remind.

Speaker 1 (01:13:35):
Us that you that bad man that I know you
to be, because you.

Speaker 3 (01:13:40):
A bad brother throwing that damn football. That ain't some
shit to be debated. We know ain't no debating that
you wanted the best to ever do it. Get your
ass back on the football field. Let's see you throwing
more than talking that much.

Speaker 1 (01:14:01):
I will say.

Speaker 3 (01:14:02):
Let me get to some of the tweets before I
get on out of here for the day, though, because
this is what it's all about right here too. At
Gotham Chief Tweets High there stephen a who would win
in a fight?

Speaker 1 (01:14:15):
Kermit or Elmo. I think Elmo. I think Elmo.

Speaker 3 (01:14:23):
Because I'm sorry, I apologize. I'm gonna say yeah, I'm
gona say Elmo. I apologize Elmo cause I think he's
more volatile, Thankan Kermit. Volatility usually wins fights. They usually
they they the people that wanna fight all the time.
They usually win. They don't win all the fights, but
they usually win some of them, most of them. I'm'a

(01:14:43):
go with i'm'a go with Kerman. Okay, I'm sorry, Elmo.
I apologize, Elmo, Elmo, Elmo.

Speaker 1 (01:14:48):
Let's go to the next one.

Speaker 7 (01:14:49):
Please.

Speaker 1 (01:14:51):
At d fox, muse, who do you think won the
rap beef? Kendrick Lamar or Drake.

Speaker 3 (01:14:57):
Well, I'm gonna have to say Kendrick because it looked
like a beef that Drake wanted to squash more so
than Kendrick. I personally believe both of them lost to
some degree with how personally they appeared to be willing
to get. And I don't think anybody wins in that.
But if you the one that want to surrender, then

(01:15:18):
usually you're the one who's losing.

Speaker 1 (01:15:22):
That's just logic.

Speaker 3 (01:15:24):
Next question at seventy seven gotten Next you versus Lebron
James first to one hundred.

Speaker 1 (01:15:30):
But the catch is you start at ninety nine.

Speaker 3 (01:15:32):
Who winning? Oh, I'm winning that one. All I got
to make is one point. He got to make a hundred. Now,
I will say this, that's if you score and I
get the ball. Now, if you score and keep the ball,
then he'd probably win because Lebrono's score and I'll never
get the ball.

Speaker 1 (01:15:52):
Back because I'll never be able to stop them.

Speaker 3 (01:15:54):
But if I get numerous bites at the Apple and
all I gotta do is score one to beat Lebron James.

Speaker 1 (01:16:02):
I'm at ninety nine and the first two one hundred wins. Oh,
I'm beaten.

Speaker 3 (01:16:05):
I'm beating the I'm beating Lebron James. Can't call them
King James. I don't mind King James, but they might
interpret Kingy's being the goat, and we know I think
that's m J.

Speaker 1 (01:16:17):
So that's how I roll.

Speaker 3 (01:16:19):
I gotta get on out of here for today. You
ladies and gentlemen, thank y'all for joining me. Really really appreciated.

Speaker 1 (01:16:23):
Thank you so much. This is the Stephen A.
