Speaker 1 (00:00):
Folks, we're back on the Way concept presented by The
Ring magazine, and today I have an update on the
Rajah Jackson situation. Apparently Rajah Jackson has been charged with
a couple of different battery charges, one felony, one misdemeanor.
But we're gonna talk about the details and why he
pled not guilty despite all video evidence pointing to the contrary.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
It makes absolutely no sense to us. Maybe for him.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
Either way, I don't see it going his way and
he could be going to prison for a very long time.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
What do I mean the breakdown? Let's go. He is
the star of a weird concept, all right. So MMA
fighting and Damon Martin has written.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
An article saying Rajah Jackson pleads not guilty to battery
charges after assaulting pro wrestler, faces up to seven years
in prison if convicted. Some of UFC legend could face
serious jail time. Okay, number one, kudos to the LAPD
and the prosecutors off for actually filing not only you know,
misdemeanor battery charges, but felony battery chargers.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
That's the only thing I can think of that would
get him seven years.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
I don't know why he wouldn't get attempt murder charges.
I mean, there was a pre meditated I'm going to
go fuck him up. No, he didn't say he might.
I don't even remember what he said, but it wasn't.
I don't think he said I'm going to murder him,
but he essentially said I'm going to beat him until
they stopped me. It was live stream and for those
that don't remember, Rojah Jackson almost killed a man as
he beat a professional wrestler, Psycho Stu, into a concussed

(01:33):
and bloody pulp whilst everyone else just watched him do it,
and then when people tried to intervene, he threw them off,
went back for some more until more people tried to intervene.
If you guys didn't catch this story, I got multiple videos.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
We'll link to it at the end here.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
But the point is Rajah Jackson showed little to no
self control, showed at least ability to cause battery and
want to cause battery to Psycho Stu, and at the
very most I thought he attempted to murder point blank.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
Period.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
He tried to unch him until he was either tired
or just felt like he was done, which didn't look
like was coming anytime soon because he hit Psycho Stu,
the pro wrestler that he slammed on the back of
his head and then proceeded to hit twenty three straight
times while he was already knocked out. It's a miracle,
in my opinion, that Psycho Stu even breathes right now

(02:21):
and not through a straw. But Roja Jackson pleads not guilty. Hilarious,
But let's see why. Roja Jackson pleaded not guilty in
court on Thursday after he was hit with a felony
battery charge and a misdimeter battery charge for assaulting a
pro wrestler at an event in Los Angeles this past August.
After he was arrested in September and released on fifty
thousand dollars bail, Jackson, the son of former UFC Light

(02:42):
heavyweight champion Quintin Rampage. Jackson, was back in court for
his arraignment after the Los Angeles District Attorney's office moved
forward with the criminal complaint against him to charges include
sentencing enhancement for allegedly causing great bodily harm, which could
add an extra three years to a prison sentence. Based
on the charges, Jackson could potentially face seven years in
prison if convicted. The twenty five year old is due

(03:04):
back in court on November twenty fourth for a preliminary
hearing setting in his case. Jackson, a pro fighter, was
arrested in September after he assaulted Stuart Smith ak Psycho
STU during a Knox Pro event in Los Angeles where
Jackson was scheduled to appear. The entire altercation unfolded after
Jackson was scheduled to interfere in a match but ultimately
went off script. He picked Smith up into the air

(03:26):
and slammed him back to the ground. Jackson proceeded to
then unleash more than twenty punches, many of which landed
after peered. Smith was already unconscious before other wrestlers were
finally able to drag him off. Smith was admitted to
local hospital, where he spent several days in intensive care
with family members, and later revealed he suffered trauma to
both upper lower jaws, laceration to his upper lip, and
a fracture to his maliksa bone, which resulted in the

(03:48):
loss of several teeth from the assault. Prior to the
ring incident, Smith and Jackson were engaged in a separate
incident when Smith hit Jackson with a beer canned prior,
might I add lightly leaving Jackson was another pro wrestler
involved to help hype the show. Video showed Smith later
apologizing and the two shook hands. Jackson was then seen
on a livestream saying that he was going to get

(04:08):
his revenge quote for real after jumping into the ring
for the plan showdown with Smith. The viscous assault was
captured on live stream, which led to an investigation by
the LPED before Jackson was eventually arrested. Jackson has not
publicly addressed the incidentate since it happened. Now he faces
potential prison sentence if convicted on all charges. Now, there
was I think an update here from TMZ Sports as
they caught Raza Jackson leaving his court appearance.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Asking him some questions. He doesn't say.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
Anything here, it's just him leaving the court and walking off.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
Do you feel remorseful about what happened? Do you have
anything to say to your fans?

Speaker 1 (04:52):
Thank you? Raja? Yeah, Raja don't feel remorseful for any
of that stuff. And he had opportunities to feel remorseful
multiple times whilst he was punching a man or trying
to fight the people getting him off of the guy
he was punching into oblivion and after the event.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
Where I think the words he used were my bad.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
I can't let people keep trying me, and I got
to prove I'm not a bit no legal expert. But
I think that usually means he's gonna be acquitted of
all charges right now.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
I listen.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
I don't know how this case is gonna go, but
it's clear as day that Raja deserves to serve jail
time here, deserves to serve time in prison seven years,
honestly for what he attempted to do, which again I
think was caused great bodily harm to psycho Stu. It
wouldn't be out of the question for me, honestly, it
wouldn't be because I will stick by this until the

(05:41):
day I end up passing. Raja was not going to
stop hitting Stu. He did not pull any punches. He
was trying to assault that man hurt him badly for
his get back over what he had gotten into an
altercation with Stue earlier in the parking lot an empty
beer can that Stu placed his hand on Raja his
head and then slapped a beer can on. Again, Stu

(06:03):
shouldn't have done it, didn't realize that Raja wasn't a
pro wrestler.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Raja then spoke with Stu.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
They shook it out, and then Raja because he was
on live streaming because again, twenty five year old Raja
is not a kid, but is acting like one.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
And I hate the idea that.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
Oh, he's just a kid, so it's okay, or he's
just a kid. He didn't know any better. No, he's
twenty five years old. It was getting raised baited by
probably a bunch of twelve to seventeen year olds in
his kick live stream and whatever future he had in fighting,
whatever or ideas he had as far as what he
wanted to do up in flames like that all over
his ego and the fact that he couldn't stand a

(06:41):
little trolling from his chat based on the interactions he
was doing and was happening to him on livestream. And
we've talked about, you know, how Rampay's Jackson handled the
situation with I.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
Thought was really really bad.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
I thought it was just at first ignorant, second and different,
and then third you could see there was a reality
that set it would it was like, yeah, this is bad,
my son may need to go away for some time.
And I respected that the reality of this case is
pretty simple. Raja has no idea how to control himself.
It seems like in a setting where someone attacks his ego.

(07:15):
And I don't know if that's a behavior that has
been learned over the time he's been live streaming and
having to interact with people that aren't in front of
him and be controlled by chat and actually his dad,
or just a lack of awareness in general as to
what happens when you assault someone, when you actually batter
someone into the point where they're days into the hospital.
And again I'm only covering this as an update, but

(07:36):
it really really frustrated me how the rest of the
other side of the internet or the other side of
the opinions on this case went where people were saying
that Raja was working and that psychost Do wasn't really
hurt and they were worked.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
Punches and all of this nonsense. Ah, Rajah wasn't going
to get charged because it was a work. Yeah, really,
you sure? That's what I thought?

Speaker 1 (07:56):
Seven years potentially for Raja, And again that's the max.
I don't think that Raja will probably end up even
serving that long. But to do the crime, you gotta
do the time, man Like, I don't know how any
adult at and sat down with Raja and either told
him that the way he was going was gonna end
up with him fighting someone or potentially getting in jail.

(08:16):
His own dad, Rampage, had said that on I think
a couple of podcasts he was afraid his son was
gonna go to jail. Turns out the fear was a
warranted one because Raja got himself into a situation where
he let external factors affect his ego and potentially he's
gonna go away for a long time for it. They
said he has another court date in November. We'll keep
updated on this story. But if you're asking me my

(08:37):
opinion on if Rajah Jackson deserves to be in prison,
deserves to go to jail for X amount of years,
the answers, Yeah, he does. Don't know him as a person.
Comment on his character outside of this incident. He wouldn't
be going to jail for his character outside of this incident.
He'd be going to jail for what he did to
psycho student and what he did to that man, in
my opinion, was punch him until Raja got tired, punch

(09:00):
him until he felt like he was done, which for
me lines up with try to hurt him to the
point where he potentially murders him. And before we get
out of here, I do want to talk about the plea.
If not guilty, I have to assume that that is
some way for him to take a plea deal. I
don't really know a lot about like how you plea
and what happens when you plea a certain way, but
usually you would think if Raja wanted to take a

(09:21):
deal and shorten his sentence, he would plead guilty and
then they would work on a deal. If you plead
not guilty, you're trying to fight this, and I don't
mean trying to fight in the way that he did Stu,
where he just stood over him and threw punches on
a defenseless individual. He's going to have to try to
fight livestream camera evidence, his own admission of what he
wanted to do on camera as evidence, the actual assault

(09:43):
being captured, witness statements that were there, everything, and none
of it goes in his favor. So to plead not guilty,
I'm not a legal expert. I have no idea why
someone would do that, if every bit of evidence.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Was there and they weren't looking at taking a plea deal.
But we'll see, we'll see. His lawyers probably no better
than I do.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
And I got two eyes, and I saw what happened,
and so did everybody else in that jury, and that
judge will as well. So what happens next, Faraje, He's
got to court date in November. I don't have those answers.
Comment below what you think, and in November we'll revisit it,
because then and only then, I guess we'll find out

Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant.
