Speaker 1 (00:01):
Okay, So Elon Musk is obviously running Twitter into the ground.
So where are we all showing up online next? And
can you get me a Blue Sky invite? And writers
in Hollywood are striking in part because studio execs think
AI can do their job better than they can. So
what does that mean for your job or all of

(00:23):
our jobs? AI podcasters? I hope not. My name is
bridget Todd, and for the last three years I've been
answering questions like these about technology and the Internet on
my podcast. There are No Girls on the Internet, but
right now technology is in such a weird place that
even I don't know where we're headed. And it feels
a lot like our tech future is actually here right now,

(00:45):
So I want to make sure that all of us
are included in that future. On the new season of
There No Girls on the Internet, we're presenting Present Future,
a series exploring how women and other marginalized folks are
mapping out a better, brighter tech future today and what
you need to know to be ready for it, Like
what do you need to know about AI? And did
you know that women are far more likely to face

(01:05):
a lot of workplace disruption because of AI? When compared
to men, or that one of the next potential competitors
to Twitter is being designed by a woman. Now, none
of the should come as a surprise. Women, people of color,
LGBTQ folks, and other traditionally marginalized people have been at
the forefront of what it means to be online since
the very beginning. We're the ones making technology safer, better,

(01:26):
more creative, and just more fun. So who better to
lead the way into our next phase. On the new
season of There No Girls on the Internet, we'll hear
from the activist, technologists, researchers, creatives, and organizers who are
shaping tomorrow today. So listen to the new season of
their No Girls on the Internet on Tuesday, May sixteenth,
on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get
your podcasts.
