Speaker 1 (00:03):
For people with myasthenia Gravis often called MG, their journey
through life takes many twists and turns. MG is a
rare disease that can cause debilitating muscle weakness and fatigue,
and each person's experience with it is unique. From onset
and severity of symptoms to obtaining an accurate diagnosis and
finding proper care and support, every person with MG has

(00:25):

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Hi.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
I'm Martine Hackett, Associate Professor and Director of Public Health
Programs at Hofstra University, and I'm hosting the brand new
podcast Untold Stories Life with Myasthenia Gravis, an iHeartRadio production
in partnership with Ourgenics. In each episode, we will speak
to real people living with MG to share the challenges
and triumphs that they have experienced along their journey with

(00:51):
this rare disease.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
I owned a print shop in Maine and I had
to close it because I had my first myasthenic crisis.
Based on why I can do with most of my
good days with MG, I relaunched my web design business.
Just because you can't do what you used to do
doesn't mean that you still can't do other stuff.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
We will uncover the reality of life with MG and
discuss its disproportionate effect on underserved communities.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
My age rolled it out, my race rolled it out
like I'm a young black girl. But I also just
think had someone taken the time to ask me what
was going on, we might have gotten there sooner.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
From doctor visits and diagnosis to caregiving and coping, this
podcast will provide members of the MG community with a
new opportunity to make their voices heard, letting others with
MG and those who care for them know that they
are not alone. Join me on June twenty first for
our first episode of Untold Stories Life with Mayasthenia Gravis

(01:53):

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
