Hushmnzada and Plaxico Burres.
Speaker 3 (00:19):

a Man, you were jacking by my squad number two
overall and that's nine and.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
Plack Man, you were at seven five seven.
Speaker 4 (00:26):
Product. Ain't everybody who flat was growing up.
Speaker 5 (00:29):
Around her man?
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Agree of the best to ever do it on and
off the field. Now live from the Fox Sports Radio studios,
here's pro bowlers LaVar Aary Test, TJ. Hushman, Zanna and
Silper Bowl champion Plaxico Burres.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
All right, all right, welcome into our two. It is
up on Game and it is t J. Hushmanzada, it
is plexicoburs, I have Laboy Arrington. We are allowed to
get to Our one was amazing, extraordinary, great radio, great entertainment.
You missed any of it, don't worry about it. It's
gonna go up immediately after the show. We'll be able
(01:07):
to check it out on the podcast. But for now,
you gotta let you guys know Our two is generally
well even though the NBA playoffs have concluded, We're still
going to talk a little bit of round ball and
maybe some other sports with this guy. You know who
he is, you know his name. When you hear this,
it's time for Cuffs the Legend.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
Now it's time to check in with Cuffs the Legend
from some dude show podcast on up on Game Presents.
Cuffs is giving you his spicy takes on what's going.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
Down the heat like.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Lebron And now here's Cuffs the Legend.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
It's gold Town.
Speaker 6 (01:50):
Legend.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
All right, there he is. I was not on last Saturday,
so therefore or was I don't know. Stuff starts to
run together for me. But we have come out of
the NBA Finals and now we have had an NBA
draft first and foremost before we get going, How you doing, Cuffs, man?
How you feeling man? I mean that being out of
(02:14):
basketball season. How you feel you feel like fish out
of water? How I mean? Is everything good?
Speaker 4 (02:19):
Man? It feels like forever right Like Game seven was
just what a week ago? But it feels like the
longest week ever. Bro. Now we got the NBA Draft.
It was a great draft, by the way, Cooper Flag
my Duke brother in christ number one pick. I think
he's gonna be like a Tom Chambers, Tom Lugliana.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
Not Tom Chambers.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Yo yo, I really watched ball. Wow, hey, he was
a beast on Bakers versus Bulls.
Speaker 4 (02:52):
First off, bar let me say congrats to the Oklahoma
City Thunder. Rats to their Day one fans like my mom,
my mom. Dude is a die hard OKC fan. Every
since KD was there, she stuck around, she weathered the storm,
and now she tasted the championship champagne. So shut out
to San Presty the Thunder organization because they finally got
(03:14):
over the hump. And now I think the Western Conference
Finals next year with the Thunder and Kevin Durant Houston Rockets,
it's gonna be.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
Slicy ll wow.
Speaker 7 (03:24):
So you already putting Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockers
over to San Antonio Spurs.
Speaker 4 (03:29):
Oh yeah, because like you gotta look at it down
like the Rockets were her number two seeds last year,
Flax the number two seed in the web.
Speaker 8 (03:38):
I know that it was Evan Durant, but we just
will twenty seven.
Speaker 7 (03:45):
We just went over this last week. You described Kevin
Durant no. He described Kevin Durant as a twenty seven
point a night mercenary is what he described them.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
Lands.
Speaker 7 (03:56):
But I don't think not having Dylan Brooks, you're losing defense.
Jalen Green, I already thought that the Houston Rockers had
a great nucleus of young town that they should have
tried to kick together. I don't believe in Doku had
anything to do with this. This was all general manner.
This was all upstairs. They made this, They made this trade.
But I don't think defensively, defensively, the Houston Rockers did
(04:21):
not get better adding Kevin Durant to this roster.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
Defensive I don't think it's over.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
I don't think the Rockers are done. It's another big
fish out there in Milwaukee. It's another big fish out
there that's lurking man, a big bad, a big mouth
bass Like it's a big fish out there in Milwaukee.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
I don't believe it.
Speaker 5 (04:48):
I just put it in the atmosphere.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
I just.
Speaker 7 (04:55):
I just think that all there are three, that they're
going to be three good basketball teams in the.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
State of Texas this year. I really do believe that.
Speaker 7 (05:03):
Get Gary Irving back healthy, Uh, They're gonna be a monster. Uh,
They're gonna be long and athletic basically every position that
that's exactly what they are going to be.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
But I just think that you know, people are really.
Speaker 7 (05:20):
It's kind of intriguing with with with the San Antonio
at Dylan Harper, you have the Darren Fox. Obviously Wemby
he had. I believe he's going to continue to get better.
So I just can't sit here and say that that
Kevin Durant is going to bolster the Houston Rockets to
the Western Conference Finals because like you said, he's gonna
(05:41):
give me twenty five twenty seven points at night, but
defensively as a whole, as a as a good young team,
I'm going to try my best to keep Jalen Green
and Dylan Brooks on this roster because I'm going to
take youth over age all day long.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
M So, So, if we're looking looking at it from
the perspective the prism, so to speak, of how this
all plays out next year, you see the Houston Rockets
playing against who the calves is it? Is it back
to the Celtics. I mean about he.
Speaker 7 (06:16):
Talking about Western Conference Finals finals.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
Yeah, but I'm talking about the finals I mean, I
had moved on from y'all. Like, I know, y'all made
a point, but I was just figuring, who who do
you guys see, you know, locking horns. I don't know
that the Celtics letting Drew Holiday get out of there.
You guys tell me, I don't think that was I
think that's a horrible move. I think that's a horrible move.
(06:39):
Maybe you don't value him as much this far along
and through their time there, but I didn't like that.
I don't know that the Celtics don't go backwards, especially
with the injury to Tatum. Is it is it clearly
Cleveland's time? Do we see that?
Speaker 7 (06:55):
I think that Brad Stevens recognized that Jason Tatum not
going to be available in that team, so he needed scoring,
so he unloaded Hallway for Anthony Simons. Anthony Simons can
score the basketball man. He's a good young player, athletic,
he can really shoot the three ball, he can get
he can get his own shots. And I think that
he recognized that we are going to need more offenses
(07:17):
this year if we want to continue to be able
to compete in the Eastern Conference, Because I honestly believe uh,
without Jason Tatum and without Tyre's Halliburton. You may think
I'm crazy, But the New York Knicks, I think are
the drivers to when they used the conference.
Speaker 3 (07:38):
Have y'all forgot about the Cleveland Cavalaris?
Speaker 8 (07:40):
I said every years, but every year fools goal.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
That they have been fools goal. They definitely have been
fools goal.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
But the.
Speaker 4 (07:53):
Conversation they just trading today.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
Lines up.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
Man, I know what Plea is doing.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
You want to you want to do it one more time?
You want to hit him with it one more time?
Speaker 4 (08:16):
Plex Come on, man, I never heard of him. Never
heard of him, Yeah, never heard That's crazy. I think
I think he got something up in the tank glass.
Come on, man, Lonzo got a little left in the tank.
He stopped wearing those big Baller brand sneakers. Pop candam
out here wearing them atrocious shoes, and it did some
damage to his knees.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
Man for that too. It's so inappropriate, but it would
have been so good. But I ain't a comedian and
I don't want to hit nobody hit the wrong way.
But god, go ahead, cops, y'all worked out the line
to that joke.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
I'm just saying the Eastern Conference.
Speaker 7 (08:51):
The Eastern Conference is up for grabs with no Tyrey's
haller Brot and no Jason Taping.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 7 (08:55):
Whether it's the Cleveland Cavial Lives or the New York
Knicks and a seven games shiit reason, the Eastern Conference,
I gotta I gotta go with the Knicks.
Speaker 3 (09:04):
I really do.
Speaker 7 (09:06):
I believe the only two teams that can stop the
Knicks from getting winning the Eastern Conference or the Indiana
Pacers in the Boston Celtics TJ.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
What about the Lakers? Man, Well, I mean we're at
with your Lakers. Oh here we go, Here we go.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
Man, Austin don't even want to play there? No more.
Austin reason is done. No decline the extension.
Speaker 8 (09:27):
He made a business decision because when he declines his extension,
he ca now eligible for twenty five percent bump, which
will putting him at forty million a year. That's why
it's the Lakers mean business.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
But this is the thing, this is the thing with us.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
Don't want to be a part of it no more?
Speaker 8 (09:47):
See this, No, no, no, that's what y'all gotta realize.
Of Dodge Hey, Mark Watson, Mark watching is our owner retreat.
Y'all know who Mark Walters owns, right, He owned the Dodgers.
Y'all see how much money they spending on their team.
So money is not going to be a problem with
(10:07):
Mark Walter as our owner. Money will not be a
problem we back.
Speaker 7 (10:13):
You are not talking about how much money Mark Walters has.
Baseball is a totally different sport from back.
Speaker 8 (10:21):
If you willing to play the talent out on the
basketball court, if you want to win a championship, well,
dogs have talent.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
Are not talent less. Go ahead, Cus what you got?
Speaker 4 (10:32):
I mean, let me ask you real quick, DJ, if
you're the Lakers, would you go after DeAndre Aden because
they have a long jam at center right now in Portland?
You got Robert Wim that drafted the kid from China,
Hanson Yang Uh. You got the second year player now,
Donovan Cleveland from Yukon.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
He's going to be the starter. I think this year.
Speaker 4 (10:52):
Would you go after DeAndre Ayton if you're the Lakers
right now to match up with Luca and Lebron. You
saw the draft the Lakers made. They got to steal
a do I don't want.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
To butcher his name, but ad the row a dude,
th row, I love.
Speaker 4 (11:07):
It from Arkansas athletic freak is jump shot is improving.
Speaker 5 (11:12):
They got some pieces, man, But would you want.
Speaker 4 (11:14):
To see DeAndre Ayton or Nick Klaxton from the Brooklyn
Nets as a as a that center? That that center?
Speaker 8 (11:20):
Me personally, I would prefer Ayton just off of he's heavier, Uh,
the pedigree. Offensively, he can give you a little more.
He can be a live threat. He's gonna play. We
we need a big that has some weight tween so defensively, Uh,
he can present a problem to guys like Yo, Kitch
(11:41):
Hartenstein and those dudes.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
But what are we giving up?
Speaker 8 (11:46):
That? To me is the key, Like if we got
to give up Austin Reeves, I want a Jared Jackson
in return.
Speaker 4 (11:52):
Untouchable. He's untouchable.
Speaker 8 (11:55):
If you want to give you don't want to be there. No, no, no,
he wanted there. So this is the thing, Lex, This
is the thing with Austin Reeves. If this Lebron last year,
they gonna sign Austin Reeves to that contract next year.
So it all depends on what Lebron do after this season.
But if Lebron's gonna play another season, we gotta move
(12:15):
Austin Reeves because we can't let him go for nothing.
He cannot leave us and we get nothing in return.
And so if the Memphis Grizzlies have a fire ourself,
go ahead and send us James Jackson. We send you
Austin Reeves, lits rock.
Speaker 4 (12:28):
He can't he can't rebound though, that's my only thing
with Jaron Jackson Journey. He can't rebound.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
But Jared Jackson he gonna, he gonna.
Speaker 8 (12:35):
He's shooting threes thirty seven, thirty eight percent, and he
gonna give you.
Speaker 3 (12:39):
Twenty a game.
Speaker 8 (12:41):
How about click from I like Claxon because super athletic.
He's just lighting ass. But here Lin Whiton, he's super athletic.
He'd a lob threat. See that. This is the thing,
and it's from just talking with dudes that I know
that play the NBA. You gotta build this team around Luca.
That's what they're saying, now, Bill, the team around Luca.
(13:02):
So perimeter shooters and live threats. That's what you do.
Perimeter shooters and live threats. And so they win. Got
the athletic wing from Arkansas. Theo that that's the first step.
But our only trade assets Ruey and Austin Reeves. Everybody
else down't want them. Them the only two guys we
got that can bring us assets back. We have no
draft picks, so for it's tough for us, but we
(13:24):
got an owner that's willing to do any and everything.
Speaker 3 (13:29):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
Hey, here's what we're gonna do. We're gonna take a
quick break. But on the other side of the break,
we're gonna talk about, well, teams in the NBA drive,
who who you know had the best picks? You know
who most surprised you storylines? I mean, Brownie James stole
the storylines a year ago for being in the second
(13:55):
round and being drafted to the Lakers, to Dad's team
and all those stuff and all that stuff. But this
year there are other storylines. I know, we talked about
one storyline on the text thread. Maybe that'll come up
on the other side of the break as well. But
which player landed in the most ideal situation? You know?
I want to know these things from our guy Cuffs,
(14:17):
the legend, from our guy TJ. Huchman Zada, and ultimately
Stretch Armstrong, who well, I think he kind of challenges
TJ and Cuffs on being the NBA insider here, but
we're going to see how this debate goes on the
other side of the break because I'm curious. The NBA
Draft has taken place, and we're going to talk about
(14:38):
it a little bit more. All right, this Fox Sports Radio,
this is up on Game. Will be right back.

sports magical. Don't listen to the show so it can
get camp.

update and look it forward to the way this one finishes.
(16:04):
It's gonna be a photo finish.
Speaker 9 (16:05):
Oh well, I could talk about that again if you want.
Speaker 1 (16:10):
I mean, hey, man, that was funny.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
Figure Tim, I'm.
Speaker 9 (16:13):
Sorry, did you just say that junk was funny?
Speaker 3 (16:16):
Duck's funny?
Speaker 1 (16:19):
What the heck? I'll do it again just for you.
Speaker 9 (16:21):
We'll start with less interesting news, but notable nonetheless. In
the NBA, multiple outlets reporting today the Chicago Bulls trading
Lonzo Ball to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Isaac Olcoro. Well,
last night, multiple outlets report in Minnesota Center nas Reids
agreed to a new five year, one hundred and twenty
five million dollar deal to stay with the Timberwolves. We
also had a trade today in the National Hockey League.
(16:43):
A short time ago, the Anaheim Ducks trading a longtime
goaltender John Gibson to the Detroit Red Wings for goaltender
Peter Mrazik and two draft picks. Two Major League Baseball
games going on right now. The A's and Yankees are scoreless.
On the top of the second at Yankee Stadium in Detroit.
The Twins and Tigers scoreless as well.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
Okay, now here we go.
Speaker 9 (17:08):
Just for you, LeVar, thank you in case you missed
it earlier.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
They don't give it to me all like that, you know,
I mean it no other Well that's true. Yeah, I
don't want it personally. I just think it's very funny.
Speaker 9 (17:20):
I don't want it personally, either of you know what
I mean. I've been in track and field news. American
sprinter Chris Robinson was able to win the four hundred
meter hurdles at the Ostrava Golden Spike Track and Field
meet in the Czech Republic, despite experiencing a wardrobe malfunction
of his shorts that caused his javelin to be exposed
(17:47):
for all to see during the last half of the race.
Let's listen to the call from commentators Hannah England and
Tim Hutchings.
Speaker 6 (17:57):
Chris Robins said, absolutely flying down the back straight, stopping
to adjustice shorts. And Chris Robinson strides into that hurdle.
What concentration to keep himself going here? Chris Robinson stumbles
there on the penultimate hurdle. He's got one more to go,
but he's going to be a win for Chris Robinson
at the United States forty eight one just gets the win.
Speaker 10 (18:17):
Boy, he are just said in front, dipping at the
line and getting home in the league.
Speaker 6 (18:24):
Do apologize for images here? I don't think a replays
are being centered anywhere.
Speaker 10 (18:29):
Well there certainly hasn't been time to send to them.
Speaker 9 (18:31):
And kudos to those British commentators for keeping their restraint,
albeit in a cheeky fashion.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
Hallo, what did she say?
Speaker 1 (18:42):
Something was slipping out of his shorts? Is that what
I mean?
Speaker 2 (18:46):
I play it again for you listen.
Speaker 6 (18:48):
Chris Robinson absolutely flying down the back straight, just stopping
to adjustice shorts.
Speaker 10 (18:54):
Here, just said in front dipping at the line.
Speaker 9 (18:57):
And you know I got I can't plan this anymore
or else we might cause physical harm to Levar's stomach
muscles from laughing too hard.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
Yeah, man, I love you are too much, bro, appreciate
too bad. Thank you, Thank you for that. Hey all right, guys, Uh,
moving on from from uniform malfunctions and winning you know,
winning races to back to the NBA draft. What what
(19:31):
was what was one of y'all's biggest storylines? Man like
coming out of the draft. What what was a storyline
that you guys kind of felt good about. I'm happy
for the Harper family. I'll say that if you want
me to get if you want me to start it off,
I'll tell you I'm very happy. I mean, you got
(19:52):
one Harper already in the NBA, and the next one
got just got drafted into the NBA. And again, come
to find out, as the story would would have it, Uh,
the mom was basically the coach these kids.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
She's been coaching Ron Harper Junior and Dylan basically of
the whole life.
Speaker 7 (20:14):
Obviously being here in New Jersey, I watched, uh those
kids come of age, and I remember Dialan and my
son playing on the same basketball team, and Ron would big.
Ron would tell me he said he man, he gonna
be better than Ron. And I was like, yeah, man,
whatever long and behold, man, Ron Happer Jr. Won three
(20:36):
state championships here, then went to Rutgers and his brother
followed his footsteps, stayed local, won two state championships here,
and now you look up ten years later, you know, uh,
you know he's in the second pick. But there was
rumblings about the Philadelphia seventy six is trading up to
(20:57):
get Dylan to put with Tyler's Maxie McCain, Paul George
and Joe Joey Embi. But that didn't happen, so he
ends up you bur on the lead Plexico. I don't
even really care about all that. I just like the
fact that he was taught.
Speaker 3 (21:12):
I know.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
The story, the story of Dylan and and Ron Jr.
Is the fact that they were trained by such an
amazing coach. That's that's the story here. For me, that's
the big story. That's the big lead here. That's all
I'm saying. I ain't trying to moving mom was Mom.
Speaker 7 (21:34):
Was moving the puppies, moving to Buffies.
Speaker 8 (21:38):
Like.
Speaker 4 (21:39):
I love the story because we see a lot of
like animated dazz like former players. You know, you can
be passionate and sometimes you just get triggered and just
lose your mind coaching your kid or being too close
to the game. I love to see how Ron Harper
is like in the shadows and he's in the shrubbery
at the game, like he in the bushes, was watching
(22:00):
his son developed.
Speaker 1 (22:01):
And the draft cuffs. He was in the cut like you,
I mean, what not the cut, but he didn't go
up on stage with him.
Speaker 4 (22:07):
I love this yere from wrong Harper, who I feel
like has one of the most underrated basketball resumes before
before his injury, I was a young kid watching those
Cabs and Bulls games before his knee injuries. He was
He was right there giving Michael Jordans. Him and Michael
had some battles before all the rings and before all
(22:28):
the goat conversations. While Harper was that guy so to
see dealing now a crafty left hand six six version
of his pops, but I felt like he's an even
bigger knee. Aaron Fox, who was his teammate now with
the Spurs three headed monster, with the Fawncastle and Bilan
Harper and Baron Fox, it's gonna be matic something there.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
That's what I was talking about. With the Spurs. I
just don't know how you could overlook.
Speaker 8 (22:51):
The Spurs because of the Rockets and the Rockets are
the team.
Speaker 3 (22:56):
The Spurs are a young team. I love having Durant.
Speaker 7 (23:00):
I love Kevin Durant, but we said the same thing
with the Phoenix when they when.
Speaker 8 (23:04):
The team Phoenix had, the Phoenix did not have the
defensive players Rockets have, and they got plenty of scoring.
They have plenty of scoring. KD score Van Fleet Scions.
This year, well, the Houston Rockets didn't get better defensive.
They will rank fourth in the NBA defense this year.
(23:25):
Man the effort that Udoka expects out of his players.
They are young. There was a young, feisty, stingy defense.
I don't think you're going to get that same intensity
out of Kevin Durant defensively, night in the night out.
Speaker 3 (23:40):
I don't think that you all.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
I don't think you can none at this point, right.
Speaker 3 (23:43):
That's what I said.
Speaker 8 (23:44):
I'm saying so defensively, the Rockets was was one of
the main reasons why they finished second in the Western Conference,
not because of offense, because they were young, athletic and
they played defense. I don't think they got better with
Kevin Durant. That's all I'm saying. They got way better.
Speaker 3 (24:01):
Way He's gonna give me twenty seven points.
Speaker 8 (24:05):
Why so listen, listen, listen when you when you can
put a lineup out, he's forgetting that. Amen Thompson great
defensive player. Smith really gonna play great defense. Tarry Easton
gonna play great defense. But what's gonna happen now is
a dude like Cam Witmore a Reed Shepherd. Now I'm
not talking defense. Reed Shepherd was the third pick of
(24:27):
the draft and got no burn. He got no burn.
He's gonna play now because the team was so good
he couldn't play. So now he's gonna play. That's gonna
add shooting. KD is gonna track so much. These dudes
are gonna be wide open. Jabari Smith is gonna play defense,
Tarry Easton is gonna play defense.
Speaker 3 (24:47):
Aman Thompson is gonna play defense.
Speaker 8 (24:50):
That's enough right now, So so Steven Adams gonna play defense.
So right now, they lost on defensive player. They lost
Dylan Dylon Harper, they lost Dylan Brooks bro So.
Speaker 7 (25:00):
Right with the addition of Kevin Durant, you're defining me
way back to the Rockets are better team than the OKC thunder.
Speaker 8 (25:09):
Yeah, they if they play right now, I'm taking the
Houston Rockets.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
Absolutely, Oh my.
Speaker 4 (25:14):
Goodness, absolutely in seven games.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
I'm telling you.
Speaker 1 (25:19):
Can I ask you guys this, cuffs, let me ask
you this. Where does this leave Minnesota? Because I think
now it's getting to a critical point where obviously I
believe Aunt has to take a more definitive step forward.
I thought this year was the perfect timing for him
to step into that, but it didn't happen that way.
It looked as though after they they kind of got
(25:40):
out of the Lakers series that you know, with Randall
playing the way that he was playing, that it could
have gone that way this year, but it didn't. We're
looking at it from the standpoint of OKC and the
way they look this year and what you guys are
expecting out of Houston. How do you view Minnesota in
this this whole race.
Speaker 4 (25:59):
I think the timberwoll are cooked. Many They had a
small window there. They didn't capitalize like they tried to dangle.
They tried to trade Rudy Gobert and Dee Vinceenzo. This offseason.
They just resigned nas Reed. He just got a nice extension.
They got a nice bag. Like yesterday they reported I
think they're gonna lose Nikill Alexander Walker. I've looked for
(26:19):
the Hawks or one of those type of teams to
swoop in and get him up. The young athletic team,
I just think they're caught up in the raturo now
because the West is like so wide open. I mean,
you got the Phoenix Sons rebuilding. I like what they
did in the draft, getting Malawake from Dude, Rashier Fleming
from Saint Joe's in the second round, Hugh Steel, Kobe
Brill from Kentucky. He's like a Devin Booker clone. Everybody's
(26:41):
getting better, as what I'm saying. So except for the
Utah Jazz, I don't know what they're doing.
Speaker 8 (26:45):
And you bring up Phoenix Sons, why would they get
Why would they get Malwa and Mark Williams?
Speaker 3 (26:50):
What would they got it?
Speaker 4 (26:52):
And they have Nick Richards, by the way, who came
in and started so they're, like I said, just like
Portland DJ Dad a logjam. So that means the Lakes
might be able to swoop in and get and get
one of those guys from Phoenix, maybe a Nick Richards.
That'd be a good pick up because they do have
a lock jam there because Mala watch, I feel like
a duke. He's just scratching the surfers.
Speaker 8 (27:12):
Man.
Speaker 3 (27:12):
That dude's gonna be so good, man, he gonna be
so good. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (27:17):
Right now, he's a young kid, new to the game.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
Why you know what.
Speaker 3 (27:23):
You just said? Portland and something just hit me?
Speaker 7 (27:25):
Didn't Drew Holiday get traded to the Portland Trail Plazer
has never played the game, went to the Boston Celtics.
Speaker 3 (27:32):
Yeah, and you're right back and you're like, oh, man,
just hit me. Damn So he back.
Speaker 4 (27:44):
Holiday. Wouldn'tdrew be a good pick up for like the
Dallas Man Bicks like to feel that gap. Who's gonna
feel that gap? Is Chris Paul gonna come in because
Kyrie is going to be out for four to six
months now, like four to five months, D'Angelo Russell, Who's
gonna be that guy to pay the whole down to four?
With Cooper Flag, with Anthony Davis, PJ. Washington, Daniel Gafford
(28:04):
has got a new deal, like the mav got, they
got Medium Washed Play Thompson, he's back in the mix.
They got Brandon Williams. He emerged at the end of
the year. The Mass the Mass ready, I feel like
so like you said that trick factor in the West
with Spurs, Rockets and MAVs. I think we're going back
to robbery renewed, Like remember the old robberies with those
Western teams with Duncan and how it used to be
with Team Mackett on the Rock.
Speaker 3 (28:24):
The Texas Triangle, the Texas Triangle.
Speaker 5 (28:27):
Yeah, I think we're getting back to the Texas Triangle today.
Speaker 7 (28:30):
So question, question, what do you think the Devil Nuggets
need added to the rosters to get back to being
you know, one of the contenders, and it's solvers.
Speaker 3 (28:46):
I asked you what they needed.
Speaker 8 (28:48):
I ain't was it over because everybody can get a
couple of people they need to get.
Speaker 4 (28:55):
They need to realize. They should have realized this a
year and a half ago. They should have traded Jamal
Murray and Michael Porter Junior together as a package and
got and replaced them with a legitimate all star caliber guy.
But they they didn't do that now, so now the
value on those guys has dropped down a little bit.
Jamal Murray he kind of had injury issues here and there.
Speaker 5 (29:19):
Porter Junior had one shoulder.
Speaker 4 (29:21):
In the playoffs. He's banged up. Aaron Gordon is your
guy with value. But I think yo Ki, he don't
want to say this publicly, but it sounds like you
want to come to LA and play with Lucas. That's
what it sounds like to me.
Speaker 8 (29:35):
The team damn, that's what what makes you say that?
Because I haven't heard that before. What makes you say
that it's just dreams?
Speaker 1 (29:48):
If you watch those.
Speaker 8 (29:51):
Dreaming waking up and thinking that he yeah, he thought
of real life conversation.
Speaker 3 (29:59):
It was dream that he had.
Speaker 1 (30:01):
The basketball sprite, dropped some some sprinkled dust on him.
Speaker 4 (30:06):
Yoke that press man, that that comfortable mattress. But I
don't know.
Speaker 8 (30:15):
Again the Joker and Luca now that where what makes
you say that that's different?
Speaker 4 (30:23):
Because I've seen the chemistry with those guys. If you
watch some of the All Star you gotta look at
the subtle things like that.
Speaker 5 (30:30):
Even the Denver Nuggets GM will Head.
Speaker 4 (30:33):
Of Basketball Operations Kronky at the presser. I think two
days ago he kind of alluded to this.
Speaker 3 (30:39):
He was saying they may have to move him.
Speaker 4 (30:41):
He did, yeah, you may have to move number fifteen
yok down the line if one of your stars, one.
Speaker 5 (30:48):
Of your other guys and on the streets of saying.
Speaker 4 (30:50):
He was talking about Jamal Murray and Michael Michael Porter Jr.
Because those guys have been banged up right here at
the finished line of the playoffs the last couple of years,
and that championship window has closed, and you saw them
hit the panic button. What a week and a half,
two weeks before the playoffs firing Mike Maloan.
Speaker 5 (31:07):
So there's definitely some rumblings.
Speaker 4 (31:09):
I feel like with Yokis being unhappy is what I'm saying.
And look at the guy that he's somewhat buddy buddy with.
Speaker 5 (31:15):
Look out Lebron and d Wade.
Speaker 4 (31:16):
We're all those All Star games and all those times
being a Ryan Tuther in the Olympics. Now look at Jokics,
he would be him and Jokic post Lebron. I'm talking about.
This is post Lebron.
Speaker 1 (31:27):
Oh oh, I thought you were like that happened fan.
Speaker 7 (31:36):
I'm Lakers. I'm not a Lakers fan. I'm putting out
to put Joker and look on the same basketball. But
the Lakers would give up for Ransom, the whole damn
basketball team.
Speaker 3 (31:48):
And you still and we still don't want you as
a fan play together.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
I don't want to be a fan. We don't know
a fan, But I bet on them.
Speaker 7 (31:56):
The Denver Nuggets, and they let go of the joker,
the Denver face. They might even have nobody show for it.
This the thing though, plex with players. Now, Oh, I'm
not gonna sign this extension. If they not signing an extension,
you gotta move them. You can't lose them for nothing.
So you have to be able to get at least
something back. And that's the power of the NBA players.
When you are a great player. I'm not gonna sign
(32:18):
this extension. You must move them.
Speaker 4 (32:20):
Crazy, all right, made themselves trade bait by doing that.
Even though I know he's untouchable. Austin reeves he's tradeable
now when he turned it down.
Speaker 8 (32:34):
The Lakers have to seriously consider it because and it's
a smart business move.
Speaker 3 (32:38):
But you have to consider it now because you can't
let him go for nothing. Yep, TJ, you just called
him untouchable. What do you mean.
Speaker 8 (32:45):
No, No, I didn't say he's untouchable. It's really Austin
was untouchable. No, I said, we move him for the
right piece. If we gonna moving, we gotta move him
for the right piece. It got to be somebody. We
can't just moving the movie.
Speaker 4 (33:00):
Yanni and we.
Speaker 3 (33:04):
Got him, we went in it all all.
Speaker 1 (33:06):
Right, let's uh, let's take a quick break. That just
got really really like that. You're talking about a very
steep drop. If this was a roller coaster ride with
what y'all just hit us with, with Jokic and with
Janni's all in like a matter of.
Speaker 3 (33:19):
Five minutes, they wake up. That sounds man, they need
to just let us go uninterrupted.
Speaker 8 (33:25):
Man, because I wonder jannisteing ain't nobody going to Milwaukee
to play with Yannie, might as well get a pout
of there.
Speaker 1 (33:31):
Dang, all right, we' we'll take a quick break. We're
gonna take a quick break. We're gonna come back, and
we're gonna wrap up this show. On the other side
of the break, well, there's a big fight that's that's looming.
It's about to come up in September. September thirteenth actually
is the date of this fight. We will talk about
(33:53):
that before we get up out of here, because the
build up of this fight is getting crazy. And I
know t he Jay's a big fight fan. I know,
plex you into a cuffs, you'll you'll fight fan.
Speaker 4 (34:04):
Oh yeah, I've been I've been watching Fight pyon with
a young boy. So there we oh hbo.
Speaker 1 (34:11):
Hbo, the old HBO. Yeah yeah, before dark, there, Godo,
We're gonna, We're gonna come back. We're gonna wrap the
show with a little bit of Canelo and and bud
uh take a quick break. This is up on Game.

and we still have cuffs. The legend with us and
(35:15):
going to chime in on this one. Terrence Bud Crawford, Canelo,
Saul oh Alvarez. Uh, they're going to match up, guys.
Is to me, this is one of the biggest matchups.
This is the this is the Floyd Mayweather Money Mayweather
Pacquiao fight. If they had fought in their primes. You know,
(35:38):
to me, I think I always weighed thirty five, still
in his prime. You got Terrence Bud Crawford, still young,
up and coming talent, but not too young, right, So.
Speaker 8 (35:50):
I meirty seven, thirty seven, Okay, Okay, So he's he's
he's older, he's actually older, but has had it was
considerably probably a longer road to get to prominence as
as as he you know, in.
Speaker 1 (36:04):
Comparison to Canelo. This fight here, now, you're talking if
you're talking a conventional versus a south Paul, right, You're
you're talking five eight to five seven, You're talking reaches
of seventy four inches versus a reach of seventy inch.
It seems as though Canelo would be the bigger man.
(36:26):
But it's it's possible that that's not all the way accurate.
What type what what are you guys expecting? I mean
Netflix scores big by getting this fight.
Speaker 8 (36:35):
If you ask me Canelo, this is the thing. I'm
a huge boxing fan. I like both fighters, but Bud
is a lot smaller than Canelo. They gonna weigh close
to the same. Budd started at one hundred and thirty
five pounds.
Speaker 1 (36:53):
Yeah, he fights light. I think he was fighting now well.
Speaker 8 (36:56):
Canelo started at one forty seven. He had a few
fights at one forty seven, went to one fifty four,
but he's been consistently junior middleweight to middleweight, Like Bud
is gonna be so much smaller. What I don't like
about this is this man is Cornelo had David Benavidez
in his weight class for years.
Speaker 1 (37:15):
And don't want that smoke.
Speaker 8 (37:16):
He ran from him, like it, like he had to play.
He didn't want to fight David Benavidez. But now you
want to fight somebody that's so much smaller than you like, Oh,
I don't bother, Oh I fight great fighters.
Speaker 3 (37:28):
Know you ran from Benavidez.
Speaker 8 (37:30):
You went up to one seventy five and fought guys,
but you won't fight David Benavidez. Why I applaud Bud.
Why taking on a challenge, taking on a challenge. Buzz's
last fight was one hundred and fifty four pounds. He
found madurob and people thought it was such a close fight.
Now you Connelo can fight bro. Conelo's quick, He's great defensively,
(37:53):
and he has power. Yes, and so Bud gonna have
to be careful. I want to see a great fight.
But for me, Canelo stop running from David Benavidez. Like
if Bud wasn't in this fight, I wouldn't watch this
fight like I wanted to watch fighters be in a
fifty to fifty fight. In this fight. May be that
Bud is just so physically small compared to Canelo. Canelo
(38:16):
fight somebody in your own weight class, buddy, that can
really fight David ben a Videz.
Speaker 1 (38:23):
He's got a beautiful family, like like the Hushman's arteris too.
By the way, Uh well, how y'all feel about how
y'all feel about this fight? I mean, I think I
think he might be a little athletic, might be a
little two athletic.
Speaker 3 (38:35):
For for I'm.
Speaker 4 (38:36):
Going with Budd, Hey, look lebar, I'm going with Bug
Crawford because it's just a certain type of dudes in
boxing where they just look like they ate sloppy Joe's
growing up. Like then, he looks like.
Speaker 1 (38:50):
Budd is hungry the man.
Speaker 4 (38:53):
Which guy I'm going he's from the.
Speaker 1 (38:55):
Bracta right, yeah, Omaha, Yeah.
Speaker 5 (38:58):
He from Omaha.
Speaker 4 (38:59):
I just feel like I'm kind of concerned with him
going up from one fifty four to one s eight
to fight Alvarez. But I think it's gonna be an
issue with his handspeed. Like Bud Crop, he's gonna be
able to find them angles. His hand speed has always
been electric find but him being a somewhat smaller guy,
he gonna pick his shot. He's gonna pick his spots
in his fight. I think he's gonna be real good
at counterpushing. But I'm going with Budd Man because, like
(39:21):
I said, he's a sloppy Joe guy.
Speaker 7 (39:22):
Bro, just like you're saying you going with the guy
from Nebraska that likes to eat sloppy Joe's. I'm going
with the young bull from Mexico that east tainted me.
Speaker 3 (39:37):
Canelo.
Speaker 7 (39:39):
I just think he's a young bull when he gets
inside on Terrence Crawford, man, he's gonna eating the pieces,
hitting with body shots, all that tainted meat from Mexico
and I don't believe that Terrence Crawford is gonna beat
Canelo on any evening.
Speaker 1 (39:53):
We're gonna talk about this as we get closer to
the fight. But I hope you guys enjoyed the show.
It's t J huschmanzas plexica O Burras. This cuffs the legend.
I'm LeVar Arrington. Really hope you guys enjoyed it. Stay
locked in, Jonas knock Show is coming at you next.
He should be fun to listen to this. Fox Sports
