Speaker 1 (00:03):
This way up at Angela.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Ye, and what an honor we have Keith sweat in
the building.
Speaker 3 (00:08):
Yeah, yeah, how you doing.
Speaker 1 (00:10):
I'm doing? How are you?
Speaker 4 (00:11):
I'm great? You look well, you look well. You've got
that long, pretty long, pretty braids.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
You know.
Speaker 1 (00:17):
I pay fast.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
It's definitely a sweatfest outside. I want to say, it's
like ninety five degrees in New York.
Speaker 4 (00:24):
Well, yeah, yeah, it's hot. It's hot hot in Atlanta.
What y'all doing up here?
Speaker 2 (00:28):
First of all, congratulations on twisted pie.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
I have to make it. I'm a big pizza fanatic.
People always know that.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
Up here.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
I'm like always getting pizza for everybody. So I want
to check it out. It looks amazing.
Speaker 4 (00:38):
Oh yeah, it's amazing. The food is amazing, amazing. Vegan
pizza is definitely amazing. Vegan cheese, that's my favorite, the
vegan pizza.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
Are you vegan or I'm not vegan with that pizza?
Speaker 1 (00:49):
Good listen.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
I believe in a balance though, because I like to
eat vegan food at times. I'm not a vegan either,
But people think vegan food doesn't taste good, but it
can be.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
Oh yeah, can be amazing. So I do. I do
what you do.
Speaker 4 (01:02):
Sometime I like to be big in and sometime I don't.
It's however I feel at that time.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Right, what made you decide to open up that restaurant?
And I know one of your partners is like a
huge pizza like award winning chef.
Speaker 4 (01:15):
Right, Well, what happened is, you know when I first
got to a learning I opened up a restaurant called
the Industry. So you know, it's one of the things
I've done for a while, so it was something that
I wanted to try again. You know, my partners brought
me into it, like they tried they make it.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Because that's a hard business.
Speaker 4 (01:33):
Yeah, but if you have the right people, and you
have the right chef, and you have the right situation,
you're good.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
That's a fact.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
Like what did you learn from Industry as you go
into this business?
Speaker 4 (01:43):
Well, when you have a restaurant, you have to be
hands on, and you know the Industry I owned outright,
you know I was the sole owner this this one,
I got partner.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
So let me tell you something. You absolutely right about that.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
I got my coffee shop, and I know I could
not be the sole owner of a coffee shop because
you have a lot more things happening too. First of all,
also another congratulations, you're getting the key to the city.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
Yeah hello, why.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
Do you see not that anybody can put your hands
put your hands on it.
Speaker 4 (02:13):
But now I know, it's an amazing opportunity for me,
amazing deal. You know, I'm proud to say that. You know,
all my work has you know, paid off, so me
having you know, mini hit records and people acknowledging that
I deserve at least one key.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
I mean, you make Harlem look good, you know, hallm.
Speaker 4 (02:39):
Made me look good as well. They fixing it up,
They doing that, They doing amazing things in.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
Harlem, you know.
Speaker 4 (02:47):
So you know, but to get a key and new
and in front of somewhere I grew up two blocks away.
I grew up in the Grand prob on twenty fifth
Street between Morningside and now Ansterdam, So two blocks down
the street. You know, they're giving me the kid and
I get to perform for free, for all my friends
and for all the people that been been fans of
(03:07):
mine and just you know, everybody that loved me and
that I love.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
I get to do my thing.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
What a full circle moment too, two blocks of where
you grew up.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
Yeah, that's crazy.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
You know, as a kid, I used to walk down
and look at the Marquee, see James Brown, Gladys Night,
all of them performing there. You know, never just thought about, hey,
I would love to be up there one day, and
now I get to perform in front of that joint,
get the key and everything else. That's you know, that
God is good. That's an accomplishment in itself.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
Do you feel like you would have been successful no
matter what you ended up doing, because I know you
worked your way up to working in the financial field.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
You know, if I'm going in there, working.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
In the mailroom and working your way up, it feels
like you had that type of drive that no matter
what field you decided to go into, it would have
worked out.
Speaker 4 (03:51):
I just feel like, you know, you know, from the
mail room to being on you know, on the floor
exchange and all of that. I just feel like, you know,
no matter what I wanted to do, I would have
did it.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
You know, I just had that I guess that drive,
you can call it the drive.
Speaker 4 (04:09):
I feel like sometimes you know, when you want to
do certain things in life, you can speak it into existence.
So I felt like anything and everything I wanted to do.
I just woke it into existence, and that's.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
What it was.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
I love the fact that all these decades later, everybody
still let him some Keith sweat, you know. And I
was looking back. Was your first song that you released
that was our wanner? Or was there songs out before that?
Speaker 4 (04:35):
Well, there were songs that I had on the internet
before I had a hit record I wanted.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
But the first song I ever did was Don't Stop
Your Love.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
Oh yeah, Don't Stop Your Love was the one that
got me to deal. And then I want to came
after that.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
So I you know I had many, many, many many songs.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
Before that, right, Okay, So let's cut to all of
the amazing things that you've done, because I know you're
also on August. They're not just getting the key to
the city, but like you said, performing for free you know,
four people, So let's discuss that and who's gonna be there,
because I feel like I know your messages are blowing
up from everybody that wants to be present for that.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
Everybody is talking about they're going to be there.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
It's fifty cent coming.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
I don't I don't know. He might show up.
Speaker 4 (05:32):
He might show up. If he shows up, it'll be
a good thing. If you don't show U. If I'm
not coming the street for it, I'm just paying.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
So I forgot that he mentioned you on his song
when how To Rob I didn't even think about that.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
I didn't listen.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
What did you think when you first heard that? You
were like what I do?
Speaker 4 (05:55):
No? I was like, who is this kid talk about
he's gonna rob me? Because at the time, nobody knew
who fifty was, right, So I was like, who's little
kid he talked about he's gonna rob me on this record?
Speaker 3 (06:04):
No, he's not. But you but.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
Men fifty, me and fifth is be straight, We're good,
We're good for real. Yeah, I thought it was just
fun that he told me to come to the street
fort and I said, if you don't come to my
thing August third, that I'm not coming to the street
for it.
Speaker 3 (06:25):
I'm just zoom zoom my performance and you.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
Can put it anywhere you want it. You know, you
can show it for whoever and you can put it
wherever you want it. And then I said, Okay, this
is gonna be fly. So I started listening to how.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
To Ride, right, I was like, and I'm putting he
don't know, I won't be there. Zoom this make your
last whatever. Hey, I remember you said this back in
the day, so he thought it was funny. So so
you know, we just had fun with it.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
That's all right, entrepreneur. The entrepreneur too, because it's great
what he's doing.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
This report amazing.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
Yeah, And now for you, let's talk about the tour
that you have going on right now as well. You know,
I think that being able to see Keiths but on tour,
your album, the one that with the greatest hits, that
is like a classic to this day, that you can
still like a lot of people don't do classic music
where you can listen to a song and.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
Today it still feels like it'd be a hit today.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
Right.
Speaker 4 (07:23):
You know, I've been fortunate. I've been blessed to have
things that people only thought about having. It's for me
is to have greatest hits albums that I never even
imagine me having, and being able to have all the
things that I'm getting right now. It's nothing but the blessings.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
Guys, you probably were good at business too, just because
of where you came from, you know, just knowing like
the way that you worked your way up in the
world of finance, but then also now working through the
music business that gives you a background that most people
may not have had the ability to have.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
I'm amazing on the business, you know, I'm popping my
collar on that one. I'm good. No, I'm just.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
I mean, that's a benefit though. That's you know, that's
a positive thing.
Speaker 4 (08:11):
I'm pretty aware as of what's going on around me.
Not all the time, you know, but a lot of
the time, I'm pretty well as of what's going on
around me. And you have to have that when you
are doing what you're doing. You definitely have to be
on top of your game or top of your business
when you're doing this.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
How hard is it also being a business owner but
work in the music business, but also having other artists
like listen, cut Close. I still have Cut Close on
my slow Jams list, you know, I like and get
up on it and all of that and soak you know, obviously,
but sometimes artists working with other artists that can at
times be challenging.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
What was that like for you?
Speaker 3 (08:49):
Challenging you said it right, challenging.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
To be able to you have to be able to
get them to feed into what you're trying to do
and sometimes that's very hard. Uh I, I'm real hard
in the studio. I mean it's like sing sing sing
sing sing. There's certain things I expect out of groups,
(09:17):
out of a singer, So if you're not giving me that,
I'm upset.
Speaker 3 (09:22):
So it can be really.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
Challenging because it's also hard when you write music and
you give that song to somebody and you envision it
a certain way and you want them to deliver it
that way, but people also kind of want to put
their own twist on it, or they may interpret it differently.
Speaker 3 (09:34):
Freak me was mine and I gave it to self.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Did you that after?
Speaker 3 (09:39):
Like?
Speaker 4 (09:39):
Because they made it that was huge, they made it
a big record, it still was mine. It's still mine.
I still wrote it. It was on my labels, so.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
It didn't hurt. I still got what I was supposed
to get from it.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
You love do you love? Playing the background? Sometimes too?
Speaker 3 (09:57):
Oh? I love it? And and then after win it,
I jump up back, jump in the front and say
it was me.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
Get your flowers.
Speaker 3 (10:07):
I love the background. And then when they hit, it
was me. Because if it don't hit, I can stay
in the background.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
I don't have none to do that.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
I had none to do with that.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
What have you ever done that didn't hit? I mean,
obviously to have hits you have to have some missus.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (10:23):
I mean everything I pretty must did have has done it.
If it didn't go number one, it's still do with impact,
had an impact.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
You know. I love the bag. So my begging has
impacts for somebody. Somebody got impact from it.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
To be like you always begging somebody.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
A lot of people they was bagging.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
You know a lot of men do be bagging.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
They just a minute. So I begged so that I
beg so they ain't got a bag.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
He made a cool bag.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
Yeah, it's all right, the bag. I beg all the time,
whether it's for money or something. I'm begging.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
You ain't begging for nothing. I feel like you got
it like that.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
And also listen, Drake, obviously light skin ky sweat that
became a thing.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
What is a light skin key sweat? Does that mean
that he's light skinned? But begging just like you?
Speaker 3 (11:11):
Is that? I guess? I guess that's what I have
to ask him? What you meant?
Speaker 1 (11:17):
People really had? That's their name on Twitter?
Speaker 2 (11:19):
Like I see a lot of Twitter handles like light skin,
Key Sweat, that's people's real.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
Oh shoot.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
That but a lot of people reference you like hip
hop to this day. You know that has to feel good.
Speaker 4 (11:31):
No, it feels amazing. And I think he meant when
he said he's the light skin he's sweet. I'm very consistent,
So that that's the probably he probably meant on terms
of music on the hits or coming. You know, he's
consistent in terms of that. Okay, that's probably what he meant.
He I don't think. I don't think he's begging. If
(11:52):
he's veguing like me, I beg real bad.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
Do you think that? Okay?
Speaker 2 (11:55):
So when it comes to like Keith Sweat in relationships,
do you think people because of this song that you've written,
have an expectation of what you're gonna be like?
Speaker 3 (12:04):
And hell yeah? But that's not always true.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
Right, So what would you say? You're like that and
that's not true.
Speaker 4 (12:11):
I mean, I don't mind giving, but sometimes a woman,
some women feel entitled.
Speaker 3 (12:15):
I don't like that entitlement mess.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
You know, you don't like those fifty to fifty conversations.
I mean, you don't like those conversations.
Speaker 4 (12:23):
I'm gonna tell you the real thor about me right
nine times out of ten. You when I'm dealing with
a woman, I know what a man should do. In
terms of dealing with a woman, I know what a
man shouldn't do. So when you asking me for stuff,
you're probably gonna get that anyway. But when because you
ask me for it, I probably not, don't you know,
(12:45):
I feel like you have an entitlement, So let me
do me right and then you you probably be satisfied anyway.
But when you don't let me do me, just like
if I don't let a woman do her and I'm asking, hey,
you should be doing this. Woman in a relationship, you
know what you should be doing. I know my job
as a man. A woman know her job as well
in a relationship as a woman. Why you know, don't
(13:05):
don't tell me as a man what I should do
when I already know, Just like you don't expect me
to tell you what you should do as a woman
when you already know that that that just makes the
relationship seem like transactional. Yeah, you man, you know, don't
make me feel like you got to goun in my head,
just like I'm not gonna make you feel like I
got how to rob.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
Yeah, yeah, so so so then, And I.
Speaker 4 (13:28):
Think that's a lot of men problems today as well
as women problem They feel like, you know, I feel
like if you ask me for something, it just makes
me feel like, you know, because you know, why are
you in the relationship? Are you in a relationship because
you think you get this and this? And you're in
a relationship because you really care?
Speaker 1 (13:43):
Because they know keeps by guy money. So let's go.
Speaker 3 (13:47):
It could be somewhere. It could be somewhere. I don't
know where it is. You know.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
I want to ask you too, because even with some
of your early songs, do you feel like like a
song like.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
Twisted, have you ever been and twisted? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (14:01):
So twisted that you did some things that you're like,
this is so out of character for me, Like do
you ever feel like everybody has?
Speaker 4 (14:07):
I don't think there's not one person that didn't flip,
you know, at one time or another.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
I've done things like what the hell did I do that?
Speaker 1 (14:16):
Like like pull up to somebody's house in and now
I know, I don't know you never did that?
Speaker 3 (14:22):
That that's that's stalker ship. Yeah, like you know you're
going to jail for.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
Like that you be like, we're not allowed to ring
the bell.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
I know people, I know, we've never been in my bushes.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
Oh okay, now now that's stocker ish. You saw somebody
in your bushes.
Speaker 3 (14:40):
Nobody been in my bush. You could look somebody been there.
I ain't gonna say.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
That's so embarrassing, but you know that's it, you know.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
So tell me some key sweat stories of times that
you were so twisted that you did things out of character.
Speaker 4 (14:56):
Lord Jesus, what did I do? I can't even think
I blocked him out of my mind?
Speaker 1 (15:02):
So funny.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
I mean, you know, what you did come up in
a time that though at least it's not on social media, man,
thank the.
Speaker 3 (15:08):
Lord, jeez.
Speaker 4 (15:11):
The Lord nowadays, because if you do anything, it's coming
out for real, flat anything. So we living in that
day and time where if you just do anything. I'm
so glad I grew up in a town where it
wasn't like it is not because you can't get away
with nothing.
Speaker 1 (15:25):
No, you stay clean like in these streets you can't
really find too much keys.
Speaker 4 (15:32):
I take a shower every day, wash it off, me
wash it off now, I mean, but doing that day nowadays,
I try to stay clean because you already know. Like,
but the sad part about it is you you might
not even do anything. But if somebody just say you
did it, oh man, your career is gone. Somebody could
(15:54):
just say something and it's like, well, I knew he
was doing that. I knew he was doing that, and
it might not be true. So you gotta stay away
from people that might even just say you're.
Speaker 1 (16:04):
Doing You know that is true.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
You know what I was just thinking about now fifty
said they're taking Diddy's key and giving it to you.
That's definitely something we never anticipated.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
Ain't nobody taking Diddy Kiddy give it.
Speaker 4 (16:16):
They got a bunch, they got a bunch of keys
on the chains.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
Yeah, they my own personal key. I don't know what
they did with Diddy key. I don't. I gotta keep
sweat key. Ain't nobody to keep up my key.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
And I remember at one point you had started like
a dating uh dating.
Speaker 3 (16:37):
No, that that ended quick.
Speaker 1 (16:41):
That was such an interesting that ended quick.
Speaker 4 (16:43):
You know what I'm saying, Because if you put somebody
with the wrong person, they gonna sue you. Yeah, people
look for anything to sue you. You know, people nowadays
to be like, oh keep keep sweat, put this thing
inside up. I wouldn't ran into this crazy man. I
wouldn't ran into this crazy man if he didn't put
them on site. I'm sure, and keep like you know,
people look for any reason to sue you. Now right now,
(17:05):
come on, now, you know how can you imagine how
Let's say you did a dating site, right and you
said on the site, this is your sight, and you're
putting copples together, right, and this girl is crazy in.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
The bushes and she gets with me.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
I'm playing you could because we should know who you
signed up to.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
Your site, you said, and I have a disclaimer on
the site.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
You know your name is crazy crazy ROBERTA.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
I disclaimer and I started dating crazy. Have you ever
done online online dating?
Speaker 3 (17:44):
No? No?
Speaker 1 (17:45):
Okay, so good? All that wouldn't do that. I feel
like you don't have been through it.
Speaker 4 (17:51):
Once or twice, But that's good, you know, be living
as long as I've been here and going through once or.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
Twice, that was good that. I can't I take that
all day long. Some people have been through it.
Speaker 1 (18:03):
Twenty times at that point. It's kind of like you,
you know, try if.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
I have to do it, If I have to do
it more than once or twice. Something wrong with me?
Speaker 1 (18:10):
Right, well, once or twice.
Speaker 4 (18:13):
No, Yeah, if you don't learn after the if you
don't learn after the second time, you ain't gonna never learn.
Speaker 1 (18:18):
Like I do feel like guys do like crazy a
little sometimes.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
Uh you know, y'all have gone And probably especially when
you're younger, guys do like that, like they like, you
said it right when you're young, and then when you
get a little older, you're like, I'm not going through
it anymore.
Speaker 4 (18:34):
But you don't know no better, right, And when you're younger,
you don't know no better. But when you get older, older,
will you be like, I don't put.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
Myself through that, right, But that's how people learn it,
because yeah, he's just one piece.
Speaker 4 (18:45):
And if you don't learn it after the second time
or the third time, you' something wrong with you. You
don't need to learn, and you are messed up.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
We need the full keep sweat story at some point.
Speaker 3 (18:53):
And we're gonna get it for the right money.
Speaker 4 (18:57):
Like when I when I do my dog, they pay
me the right practice, they get all the dirt they want.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
They can get it from the beginning to the end.
Speaker 1 (19:04):
It don't even have to be dirt though, because I
just say.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
I said dirt, I don't mean dirt clean dirt.
Speaker 1 (19:10):
No, it sounds like you have in mind clean dirt.
Speaker 3 (19:15):
Right, whatever it is, whatever for the right check price.
Speaker 4 (19:19):
Then more more information comes, the more money, more information,
more information.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
It's also something you probably could do yourself if you
it's something I'm going to do, yeah, because honestly, like
does Keith Sweat need somebody to just get I think
you could do it and then you know, bring somebody
on board.
Speaker 4 (19:36):
When I'm gonna do is I'm gonna probably not probably,
I'm gonna shoot it all myself and.
Speaker 1 (19:40):
Then like some sit out exactly. That's what. Have you
started working on it too? Because I know you got
a ton of footage, you know, you know.
Speaker 4 (19:51):
You know nody I started working on it, so basically
it's just the time to do it, you know.
Speaker 3 (19:56):
But I started. I started working on it.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
Myself already, okay, because I'm definitely on board to see
what that's going to be.
Speaker 3 (20:02):
Like, It's going to be amazing, believe me, I promise
you you're going to enjoy it.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
And you know what else is great that you've had
such a long, successful run with your radio show too.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
Yeah, the perfect person.
Speaker 3 (20:12):
How long have I been on radio for?
Speaker 1 (20:14):
Yeah? Tell me how long has it.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
Been for the fifteen years? Something like that.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
I feel like you're the motto when I think about
because I always say this. At some point, you know,
when I was on the Breakfast Club and then I
left to do my own thing, I was like, I
want to do something like what Keith Sweat does, you know,
at some point, like to be able to have my
own show, but something nighttime, something sexy, right, you know.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
So I've been on that bad Boy fifteen years. That's
a long time.
Speaker 2 (20:37):
That's amazing. You got to have, like, well, you celebrate.
I feel like you have your annual events.
Speaker 4 (20:42):
And like I got can Coon coming up the sweat
Fest and can Coon what that's October tenth to the fourteenth.
So for those that don't have their tickets or don't
have their room, come to the Sweatfest and can Con
Baby's going down.
Speaker 3 (20:57):
I'm performing Joe performing Gey.
Speaker 4 (21:00):
I don't have the running show, running running people, that's
performing comedians.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
Everything that five days, four nights, that Hollywood resort.
Speaker 1 (21:09):
Just so y'all know, Okay, yep.
Speaker 3 (21:11):
I'm gonna be in my shorts, my Swim Trunks, and
you also.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
Are doing executive producing, music supervision as well. All right,
so can we talk about some of the projects that
you have coming up as Ooluh?
Speaker 4 (21:26):
I'm down with uh trouble Man the movie. I think
it's coming out in September.
Speaker 1 (21:33):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (21:33):
I got to ask some people on the right.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
But you also you also made a guest appearance in
the movie.
Speaker 4 (21:41):
Yeah, I made a little guest appearance, me and my
son Justin, So we're doing that. Then I'm working with
Darren Henson Orlando from Family Business. We've got a project
coming out or that we're working on as well. Then
I'm working very diligently with my son Justin Sweat, who's
acting in Stepmother one, two and three playing Marcus Houston
(22:04):
Son in there.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
Oh my gosh, how do you have time to do
all this?
Speaker 4 (22:08):
I mean, I'm fine time. I don't sleep right, You're
not like I keep saying, only only dreams.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
Come to sleep us.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
And you also have a number one song out.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
We'll lay you down like that.
Speaker 4 (22:20):
Every time I sing something about sex, they like it.
Lay you down, make it last bad? But how deep
is your love?
Speaker 3 (22:26):
Who could lay you like me?
Speaker 4 (22:27):
Nobody all them songs happen to go number one, but
people must not be getting it like they.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
Used to get it out, or they might be listening
to it while they getting there.
Speaker 4 (22:34):
Oh good either one. As long as they make it
go number one, they can get it all they want.
You be coming about as long as they keep it coming,
no point intended.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
Listen. Back in the day, we used to do playlists.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
I want to do People still do that, like put
together a nice playlist when you know somebody's coming over,
or yeah I do, so what's not besides yourself? What's
on a key sweat playlist?
Speaker 3 (23:02):
Sweat?
Speaker 2 (23:02):
Come on, Keith Sweat. We gotta know beside yourself who's
on that playlist? Because I know you have some You know.
Speaker 3 (23:09):
Man, I don't want to listen to nobody but me
when I'm making love. I don't want to say for
a woman.
Speaker 1 (23:15):
If y'all making love and.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
Hear somebody else boy's other than mine.
Speaker 1 (23:18):
Well no, but also you're right there, like it don't matter,
It don't matter.
Speaker 3 (23:23):
I don't want to nobody. Hey, you ain't gonna just
this is mine.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
The sound that you wrote, but somebody else is singing.
You could do that?
Speaker 2 (23:33):
What about women you could listen to, like, all right,
I let silk sing. Okay, all right, that's fair my song.
Speaker 3 (23:41):
Then anyways I'm on the background.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
That's crazy. Well listen. I do definitely appreciate you for
coming through. I admire you so much.
Speaker 2 (23:53):
With everything that you have going on in the world
in radio, you're definitely an icon in that space as well,
but also as a song writer, as an innovator, as
a performer, as an entrepreneur, all of those things that
I think in this space that we're in, people have
to learn how to be a multi tasking right, true,
you know, multi hyphen it.
Speaker 1 (24:14):
You can't just do one thing anymore.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
Very true. You know that's why I try to. I
try my hand in various things because you just can't
do one right thing.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
And you also never know what's going to hit too,
because sometimes you know, you got to you got to
make the effort and do different things, and when you
hit your.
Speaker 1 (24:28):
Head, woo, you know what it is.
Speaker 3 (24:32):
You know exactly what it is. You gotta make.
Speaker 4 (24:34):
You gotta go try your hand multiple things, and sometimes
more than one thing to hit at one time.
Speaker 1 (24:39):
So then you visit that blessing.
Speaker 3 (24:41):
Yep, Jesus is good.
Speaker 2 (24:43):
So the Sweat Hotel tour starts August twenty third, right,
and who are the guests on the tour, just so
we know, are they special announcements.
Speaker 4 (24:52):
Especially announcements Silk is on some show. Sometimes it's just
only me, me and only me and just me.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
That's all we need.
Speaker 3 (24:59):
Yeah, So I get to I get to do it, like,
you know, just come and see me. And I'm just
I'm just like on certain markets, it's still.
Speaker 4 (25:13):
I really don't know who it is. In certain markets,
I just right now, I'm just concentrated on me. But
it's special guests, you know. And and when we do it,
it's gonna it's definitely gonna be fun. It's definitely gonna
be engaging. Me and my twelve dancers and my live band.
I don't do no track shows, so don't worry about that.
You can get the full hour and a half, the
(25:34):
two hours, because I can.
Speaker 3 (25:35):
Do two hours.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
That's an experience, you know, two.
Speaker 4 (25:38):
Hours with nothing but hits, no album fellers. I don't
have to do ourum fellers, thank the Lord. So you
get nothing but two hours, and then you know, you
can get some of my merchandise. I got the Kifi

Speaker 3 (25:53):
I got all of them. You know what the keifie is?
Speaker 1 (25:56):

Speaker 3 (25:58):
I got the I got the platinum back here here.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
Let me see that, because you got your own line
of bags. Okay, that's fancy with.
Speaker 3 (26:06):
The fanny pack in the back.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
Oh wow that comes off, Yeah, that.
Speaker 3 (26:10):

Speaker 4 (26:11):

you know, from red, white, black, name the color, I
got it and go everything.
Speaker 3 (26:19):
But the keifee is you know, how can I explain
the keyfe's?
Speaker 1 (26:23):
What is the ke is?
Speaker 3 (26:25):
When you don't have a man?
Speaker 1 (26:26):
Oh my god, and you.
Speaker 3 (26:29):
Read in the drawer.
Speaker 4 (26:30):
You know most people have their other friend. Ladies have
their other friend in the drawer. Oh okay, yeah, so
I got keyfee's. Oh you got your own keifee's. When
you can't take me home, you got to take my
keifee home?
Speaker 1 (26:41):
All right? Well we need more details. Is this a
real thing.
Speaker 3 (26:45):
It's a real thing. It's a real thing.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
I could google it right now.
Speaker 3 (26:49):
Well you can only buy it after shows.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
I need to know more information on that. So is
this something that is like a bullet size or is
it something that is like a true eyes or it.
Speaker 3 (27:01):
Got it got a bunch of speedes on it.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
I know that.
Speaker 3 (27:07):
The bullet you got a gun and it will shoot you.
Speaker 1 (27:11):
And it's a lipstick too.
Speaker 3 (27:13):
If you got a gun, it will shoot you.
Speaker 1 (27:18):
What made you decide to do that?
Speaker 4 (27:20):
Because a lot of women just not stay thing and
you know when they sitting up there and saying make
it last, getting a little getting a little spicy down there.
Speaker 1 (27:34):
I feel like you might have experimented with women with this,
Like how did you test that? Because I know you
had to test it out to see, like which one
you like?
Speaker 3 (27:42):
I asked, my damn toy. I feel I got tell me.
Speaker 1 (27:48):
And when come back I like it. I'm so these
kipies are really going to be the show.
Speaker 3 (28:00):
Yeah they got they at the show. They be making that.
And then after I finished, nobody they be ready for them?
Speaker 1 (28:05):
Who can nobody.
Speaker 3 (28:09):

Speaker 1 (28:09):
Look, that's what you call safe sex.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
Yes, save sex with the keyfee, no complex, but save sex.
Speaker 2 (28:17):

Speaker 3 (28:22):
Your can because they're gonna have They're gonna be out
can kon to the keeping.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
Are you going to expand the line and do more things.
Speaker 4 (28:30):
I don't know, depending depending on how them keeping is working.
Because I got the candles, now.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
Okay, so then you put my candle down.
Speaker 3 (28:42):
You put the candles down.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
Okay, I get the candles. You put the key fee
in the bag and.
Speaker 3 (28:46):
With the camels right and let them candle.
Speaker 4 (28:48):
And the smell of the candles made because I got
every every candle is a different scent. Make it last
twisted nobody. Why a y'all bringing the candles freak me?
Speaker 1 (28:58):
I'm scared anyway.
Speaker 4 (28:59):
So you when you light the candles and get the
difference sets, you might light them all, light them all
up at one time.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
You get different sense and then you just like that.
And then when you like that, you said the candle
gives you different cents, and then they hit you at
one and then you say, with a keify.
Speaker 1 (29:23):
And then you can order some twisted pie.
Speaker 3 (29:25):
There you go.
Speaker 4 (29:26):
If you get hungry, if you get hungry after you
get hungry after the keeping, because normally you do.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
Get you got it all figured out. It's such a
pleasure talking to you. And you know, make sure y'all
get out to that tour. I'm definitely trying to come
out just if not, you know, because that's the only
pat you can get the Keify from.
Speaker 3 (29:49):
It's gonna be up the chain. But you're coming outsideday.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
Yeah, I think I'm gonna be here, So I'm coming out.
