Risque on there. Let's just say that. So take a

Speaker 4 (00:52):
You're used to getting interviewed, yes, so this is gonna

be saying stuff and be like, oh man, I shouldna
have said that.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
No, y'all talk a lot.

Speaker 6 (01:01):
I'm good, all right.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
Perfect.

Speaker 4 (01:03):
Also, Corey Harjik is going to be joining us, and
you know he is starring in Tyler Perry's new movie
that's out right now, Divorce in the Black A.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Little with that nice opening scene.

Speaker 4 (01:12):
Oh yeah, I had Mano, watch the opening scene. Are
you a Tyler Perry movie fan? Okay? All right, perfect, well,
all of that is happening because you know it's Friday,

already like, let's line up the shots.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
I didn't say that, right, Man is here to catching

Speaker 4 (01:33):
I didn't pick this side of the truth shots truth. Okay,
you are trump today? Okay, all right, well, let's shine
a light. Eight hundred two, nine fifty fifty colors up
and let us know who you want to shine a
light on.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
His way up.

Speaker 7 (01:49):
Turn your lights on, y'all, spreading love to those who
are doing greatness.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Shut the light on.

Speaker 7 (01:58):
It's time to shine a light on them.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
All right, it's way up, and I'm here where Mano
and Ken the Man really turned up on a Friday.
My first left shining light and y'all can participate in
this one. This is where we spare some love.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Today.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
We're going to shine a light on somebody named Big D,
the weather man, who is in the room right now.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
All right, well, the weather run the weather. I go
back with D for like two hundred.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
Years he's a rock nation. He's the one that actually
has ken the man up here today. But I actually
go back a long time when he used to work
at MCA Records, when I used to manage Jizza and
Jesus was signed there.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
That's a long long time.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
It was in the sixties.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Yes, in the sixties right from Wu tang So.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
But he's been super consistent as far as working with artists,
and he still loves what he does. A lot of
times people could be in this business as long not
care or just beginning to check or fade off and
not even be around anymore. But he definitely is very
passionate and still love it.

Speaker 8 (02:53):
I work with the back. When I got my first
record deal, it was universal multi universal. Right when your
man's name, Jeez was taking my budget.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
Oh okay, may not see that now you just turn.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Something that's all positible. It's positive. But you know what
I'm talking about, right, somebody.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Took your budget? Yes, my god, and can the man.

Speaker 6 (03:13):
That's my guy. I love him. I just said, oh,
we need you. I cannot live without him.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
I love him.

Speaker 6 (03:17):
On him my favorite parson.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
Yeah, he's so sweet all right, But we shine a
light on you today. Now, our producer Damn refuses to
call him Big D. He calls him Derek, but you know,
to the rest of us, that's a big D.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
Well the man, we make sure you'll follow him.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Right now, Who do you guys want to shine a
light on? Eight hundred nine fifty one fifty Pharah, Who
do you want to shine a light on?

Speaker 9 (03:39):
All those people that are sixty two and older that grew.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
Up with your head popped? Okay, all right, and explain why.

Speaker 10 (03:47):
We're old and we're still alive and we deserve what
we deserve.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
What you think about this new music the dope?

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (03:57):
All right, see now that's what we like.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
The old heads that grew up with hip hop and
love the younger generation too. All right, Well, thank you
so much for Colin. We appreciate you. When shine a
Light on YouTube?

Speaker 10 (04:06):
All right?

Speaker 3 (04:08):
Take care? All right?

Speaker 4 (04:09):
Well that was Shining Light eight hundred two nineteen fifty
one fifty just in case you couldn't get through.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
And when we come back, we have your yet.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
And first up, we are going to talk about the
Billboard Top one hundred albums. That list has come out
and I know everybody in this room wants to discuss
because we got some artists here today.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
Mano and Can the Man is way up.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
She's like the talk like they am Jeli Jean, like
they am Jelie Jee.

Speaker 7 (04:31):
Man, She's spilling it all this is yet wall.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
Ooh, the arguments behind the scenes. It's way up. It's
time for some Yet Mano's here, No man, Can the
Man is here?

Speaker 1 (04:44):
They know?

Speaker 3 (04:46):
All right.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
Now, let's talk about this Billboard Greatest Rap Albums of
all Time. The top one hundred list is out all
right now, not supposted, thank you the Billboard and the people.

Speaker 5 (04:57):
We hear.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
Number one Ellmatic that was number one on the list
on top of one hundred Billboard Rap albums.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
Ah, what do you guys think about the number one?

Speaker 1 (05:06):
I would have.

Speaker 8 (05:07):
I'm a Nas fan and Nas is my god. But
I always love it was written. I love ill.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
Matic, all right.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
I we had a whole argument about this because e
Madic I felt like was very impactful when it came out.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
It was quick and to the point.

Speaker 8 (05:22):
It was written is when Nas really arrived and made
him with the star.

Speaker 4 (05:26):
All right now, Ken the man, Let's look at some
of your picks on this list that you also look
at as top one hundred rap albums. Who would you
say for yourself should be in that top ten? I
would say, well, Tupac is already there. I would say
number six, definitely, jay Z the Blueprint.

Speaker 11 (05:45):
I would have put Little Wayne up there, though, Okay,
little my favorite?

Speaker 3 (05:49):
Okay, Little Wayne is your favorite? Which one here?

Speaker 6 (05:51):
A little too far down?

Speaker 11 (05:53):
I don't like that on the second part he's number
sixty with the card of two.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
I feel like, so he on there twire there twice.

Speaker 4 (06:02):
But yeah, you know this type of list, nobody's ever
gonna all the way agree, and I feel like it's
so hard.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
I don't think nobody agrees. Yeah, nobody, everybody has opinions.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
Lauren Hill definitely deserves to be in that top five. Okay.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
The miseducation of Lauren Hill's number three on the list
so so mano you said you would have had it
was written above ematica. What about your number one?

Speaker 8 (06:24):
I don't know what could have been my number one?
I mean, I don't I think Ready to Die should
have been on that.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
Yeah, I definitely think in the top ten. Ready to
Die that was an amazing album. What about you can
the Man? What's your number one album in a rap
of all time that impacted you the most.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
I'll say, all.

Speaker 6 (06:40):
Eyes on me, All eyes on.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
That's my little thug friend right here, okay for me?

Speaker 4 (06:46):
And I was saying this entered the Wu Tang was
a phenomenal album and made it to number twenty six
on the list Wu Tang Clan and so I shout
I would have had that at number one for myself.
But I will say Jason made the list with Liquid
Stores at number fifty six, which I think is great.
Rik Kwan at number twelve with only built for Cuban links. Also,

(07:06):
Kendrick Lamar Dam is number fifteen on the list. I
do love Chibe Call Quests and day La. So that
whole Daisy age was a great period of.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
Time, Remember Flowery, I remember I.

Speaker 4 (07:17):
Was definitely into that whole era. And you know what
we just saw ll cool J. Did you meet ll
cool J at the BT Awards?

Speaker 3 (07:23):
I did it all right.

Speaker 4 (07:24):
Well, listen the fact that he made Radio, he made
the list at number thirty five, that album came out
in nineteen eight, in nineteen eighty five, and the fact
that he's still doing music and about to put out
another album that's right.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
That shit is executive producing.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
That is man.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
So just you know, taking into consideration, I think it's
really hard h to really have a one hundred list.
I can't even imagine the type of debates that would
go on, but just for everybody. Number ten was slick
Rick The Great Adventures of slick Rick. Number nine was
jay Z The Blueprint. Number eight, Eric being a rock
campaign in full seven and Snoop Doggy Dog Dog Is Down.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
Number six.

Speaker 4 (08:02):
Tupac All Lies on Me. Number five the Notorious b
I G. Life After Death. Number four our cat outcasts
a Quemini. Number three was Lauren Hill, Number two Doctor
Dre the Chronic, and number one was Nods with ill Matting.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
Number was Hammer Would you stop? He didn't?

Speaker 4 (08:18):
I also said, and this is you know, just me.
I would have put Black Moon on the list, but
that's you know, I'm from Berkeley.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
We know I got you open.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
Mm hm and to the stage. All right, Well, when
we come back, we have about last night. That's where
we discussed what we did last night. Ken the man,
you're from Houston, you're in town, so you're gonna let
us know what you have popping off and mano, it's
still last night for you, So we'll discuss that.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
It's way up.

Speaker 7 (08:43):
So about last night, Yes, piece, I went down last night.

Speaker 4 (08:50):
All right, it's way up. I'm here, Mano's here, yeah, yeah,
and the Man is here. It's a fun Friday.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
Now.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
What did y'all do last night? What's that with you?

Speaker 10 (08:59):
Ken?

Speaker 3 (08:59):
The Man? What were you up to?

Speaker 11 (09:00):
Because you're in New York and I was just in Chicago.
He was just in Chicago.

Speaker 6 (09:04):
No sleep, I just woke up on the plane.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
Feels good, feels great. What was happening in Chicago?

Speaker 6 (09:11):
I had like a host in for the radio station
for my new single.

Speaker 4 (09:15):
Okay b dk b dkay talk about it at out.

Speaker 9 (09:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (09:20):
I can't help us say that all the time because
they know Angela. But listen, I feel like some of
your songs women have dedicated to Manoah.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
I enjoyed.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
I gotta, I gotta, I gotta not let my guard
down up here.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
Now you can't. It's still last night for you.

Speaker 9 (09:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
I was, I was out.

Speaker 8 (09:44):
I was moving around the city. Had a meeting with Jim.
We had to go over some stuff for tomorrow. That's
in Jim Jones, and then I met up. I met
up I met up with Charlene and Fabin almost her birthday.
Shout out to Charlene.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
Okay, Charlene, we go back to the Wu Tang days
as well.

Speaker 8 (09:58):
Happy birthday to Charlene. And you know, I was just
moving around. I was out stopped at the studio then
I came here.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
Sounds like a thrilling time.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
Well, you know, I have to, as we were talking about,
because Corey Harjack is going to be joining us today.
So Tyler Perry has a new movie out that's on Prime.
It's called Divorce in the Black. And so you know me,
I'm always going to be home trying to make sure
I'm watching things. I caught up on Sisters, also another
Tyler Perry series.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
You don't watch Sisters, No.

Speaker 6 (10:24):
I never seen Sister.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
I try, but I can't remember what it's on BT.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
Yes, on BT it's another Tyler Perry extravaganza. But yeah,
so I caught up on Sisters yesterday finished Divorce in
the Black. And I know a lot of people are
talking about that movie because every time he does drop something,
everybody talks about it no matter what. So we'll be
discussing that with Corey Harjack today. But in the meantime, Now,
Ken the Man, I don't know if you know about

(10:49):
this segment, but it's called tell Us a Secret, and
Fridays it gets a little crazy. So the way that
this goes all right, it's like confessions. So basically, people
call in, they get to remain anonymous and we don't
judge them, and they get to tell us secrets. Now
when we post these, a lot of times people judge.
The other day, somebody called and said that he had

(11:09):
to take a paternity test and he took a menthol
a Hal's and managed to cheat the paternity test and
get a negative result. But I was saying this on
social media. A Halls is not going to give you
a negative for a paternity test, so he just probably
was not the father. But anyway, people call in and
talk about all kinds of crazy things that they do,
sometimes dangerous. One guy pushed a refrigerator off the balcony

(11:33):
and what was it?

Speaker 3 (11:35):
Oh it was a toilet. Yeah, and just yeah, here's somebody.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
Thankfully no, because I don't know if I could have
not judged that, but you know, you can't do stuff
like that. And so anyway, eight hundred two nine two
fifty one fifty tell us a secret. Ken the man
is here for the first time guests hosting, so we
got to make sure it's really really juicy.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
She's not judgmental Mano.

Speaker 4 (11:54):
On the other hand, what it's a little judgmental sometimes,
but people like that about him.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
Eight hundred fifty number.

Speaker 4 (12:03):
Call us up and tell us a secret on a Friday.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
This is a judgment free zone. Tell us a secret.

Speaker 4 (12:11):
All right, it's a Friday, so you know what that means.
It's time to tell us a secret. Minos hair no
man can the man We are writing on this secret
from you.

Speaker 11 (12:21):
After a long thought process, I decided to give y'all this.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
Okay.

Speaker 6 (12:26):
I used to do Uber eatst Wow a couple of
years ago.

Speaker 3 (12:29):
Uh huh.

Speaker 11 (12:30):
And I don't know what makes you so hungry on
their job during deliveries, but something just made me digging
them people bad.

Speaker 6 (12:40):
I thought you said it was a judgment.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
I would have did the same thing.

Speaker 11 (12:44):
And I just took a couple of fries.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
That's when they hot.

Speaker 6 (12:48):
And that shall want me to take the fries because
at least I'm clean.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
Okay, So you ate a couple of fries.

Speaker 6 (12:52):
I had a couple of fries and I might have
slipped off the side of a drink.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
But oh my god, no, no, no, I think no.

Speaker 11 (12:59):
But you know that was the oh me and I
was just after a couple of fries. I stole that
pleasant if you had a drink hit me, you know.
Oh but you don't know if you get a tip
in New York until after day, what you're supposed to do,
I'm honest, all right, So.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
You don't mind it? So your uber East job? Is
that to you?

Speaker 6 (13:14):
And if it was me, I.

Speaker 8 (13:15):
Don't do a lot of uber eating. I don't listen.
You did what you had to do, Okay.

Speaker 3 (13:20):
All right, but let's well, let's have comment on spending block.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
Oh all right, well we want to hear your secrets.
Thank you, Kendo man. That was a good one. Eight
nine fifty one fifty animous color. What's your secret?

Speaker 1 (13:31):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (13:31):
I used to work at car Washed Detreat.

Speaker 3 (13:34):
Okay, okay, all superpris.

Speaker 12 (13:37):
It was a real jerk and before I quit, I
took a big, big dump in his brand new seven
forty five BMW killed.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
Let out with Yeah, that's a good one.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
You got in this car and just what.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
Just all over the back seat. But he didn't know
like an hour or so later until we clucked out.

Speaker 9 (13:59):
But I quit that day, so he didn't know.

Speaker 4 (14:01):
I think he probably did know it was you because
you quit that day.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
Well, how do you do something like that? Do you
like bring tissue with you or do.

Speaker 6 (14:09):
You just He probably junk some coffee.

Speaker 9 (14:12):
I just use this feather in the white fires with.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
Oh my gosh, he wipes his act to the leather,
the buttersaft leather.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
Okay, sure did all right, Well.

Speaker 4 (14:23):
Then he definite knew it was you because you quit though.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
I just want to tell you.

Speaker 9 (14:26):
Yeah, I just want to say six fall love all
the way through.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
He said, Okay, all right, thank you for calling hand out?
Him is Colin? How are you?

Speaker 9 (14:34):
I'm fine, be good.

Speaker 3 (14:35):
Okay, you want to tell us a secret?

Speaker 9 (14:37):
Yes, I am secretly divorcing my husband. He doesn't have
any idea that's happening.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
But he got to sign off on it.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
How does that work?

Speaker 8 (14:46):
Like you're just gonna pop up one day and be like, yeah,
you're divorced.

Speaker 9 (14:50):
I'm just gonna leave. I mean, he's abusive, you guys,
I've been with him and he's verbally abusive. I've been
beaten so many times. I just can't take it no more.

Speaker 4 (15:02):
I am so sorry. I'm but I'm so happy that
you're leaving.

Speaker 3 (15:06):
Yes, you know, to take your all.

Speaker 9 (15:08):
The strength, you know, And I'm like, I'm just he's
gonna come home one day and everything's going to be
out of there and the papers are just going to
be on the table and I'm going back to my
home state. The final straw was just the other day
when he tried to put his hands on me again
in front.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
Of our children.

Speaker 3 (15:25):
I'm so sorry I have I've been.

Speaker 9 (15:27):
Making excuses these whole six years, like you know, maybe
he just needs love. Just you know, it's it's never
going to change.

Speaker 4 (15:34):
And you know what I will say, when somebody is
physically abusive that way, the best thing to do is
to just get all your stuff and get out unexpectedly
because you don't know what he might do.

Speaker 6 (15:43):
Yeah, you're doing so good. We're so proud of you.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
You have a lawyer and everything, so you make sure
you're good.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
Yet to feel good about you on.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
The papers there.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
But you know what, when somebody is abusive in that
way and she already has a lawyer and got everything,
you know, what can he do? But the main thing
is get away from him, get the kids away from
him first and foremost.

Speaker 9 (16:02):
Yeah, he already do they do it when you have
probable calls, you have proof God, And I kept all
my receipt and I've already paid my three fifty. I'm
out of there.

Speaker 4 (16:12):
I am so proud of you. Like him, the man said,
we are so happy for you. We are celebrating you.
We are so proud of you.

Speaker 9 (16:17):
You're I was crying, but I'm crying. I happy cry,
you know. So yeah, just keep me up in prayer,
I know, mononymous, but keep me up in prayer anyway.

Speaker 3 (16:27):
Oh no, you know, we absolutely are.

Speaker 4 (16:30):
And let those tears be like tears of a new start,
freedom tears.

Speaker 3 (16:34):
Yeah, all right, thank you, thank you.

Speaker 4 (16:37):
We're praying for you right now, all of us, everybody listening.
All right, Well, thank you guys for calling. You can
always leave a message at eight hundred two nineteen fifty
one fifty if you couldn't get through. And when we
come back, we have your et And let's talk about Diddy.
Apparently his mom has been hospitalized. We'll give you details
because it feels like it may have to do with
these ongoing lawsuits.

Speaker 7 (16:55):
It's way up sure, she's about to blow the lid
off this spot.

Speaker 1 (16:58):
Let's get it.

Speaker 7 (16:59):
Oh yeah, just feeling that.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
Yeete, come and get the tea, all right?

Speaker 4 (17:03):
His way, yup, I'm here. Mano's here, No mano can
the man is here? All right, let's get into some yet.
So Ditty's mom has been hospitalized, Janis Comb. She's eighty
four years old. They said she was having chest pains
and a source told NBC News that she's still at
the hospital. She hasn't been discharged yet. They're keeping her

(17:24):
for observation and they ran a number of tests. The
diagnosis is still unknown, but they do think that stress
is a factor and that everything that's been going going
on with Ditty's legal troubles is what's causing this to happen.

Speaker 3 (17:37):
So you can imagine what that must feel like.

Speaker 4 (17:40):
And I will say on social media, people were very
unsympathetic in the comments. It feels like now another person, uh,
Misa Hilton, his ex you know that is Justin's mother
is planning to do her own memoir and she did
a post talking about being pregnant with their son, Justin
Combs when she was nineteen years old, and with that
time period was like she said, Puffy just got fired

(18:01):
from Uptown Records. Dre said, there cannot be two kings
in a castle. He was right, it comes to time.
Puffy was scared, he had a child on the way
and we just moved into a big, beautiful new home.
He had me called Dre and asked for his job
back several times, and Dre stood on business. So she
just was talking about her time period at the label.
That's tough though, because she has her own story to tell.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
And that's a legendary story though.

Speaker 8 (18:25):
Yeah, to see what buff did, create a bad boy
and then wind up hiring Andre.

Speaker 3 (18:31):
Later on Ken the Man. Are you familiar with who
mister Hilton is?

Speaker 6 (18:35):
For people?

Speaker 4 (18:35):
So that was Ditty's ex right, And she was actually
in one of the first Biggie videos as well. But
she is a stylist and so to this day she
still styles like she and she was really good friends
with Little Kim with Mary J.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
Blige. But she also is an amazing stylist, so she's
really really known for that too. Just to fyi all.

Speaker 4 (18:56):
Right now, Danielle Smith also wrote an article, and this
article was about her relationship and talking about her recollection
of Ditty Now Danielle Smith is a journalist in her
own right, and she used to be the editor in
chief of Vibe magazine. But she's also Elliott Wilson's wife,
another journalist, and she talked about the time when they

(19:16):
were doing a cover of Ditty for the December nineteen
ninety seven January nineteen ninety eight double issue and they
wanted him to wear white feathered wings. Now, he ended
up wanting to see what the magazine pictures would look like.
But magazines don't do that, They don't show you what
the picture looks like. And he called her and told
her that if he didn't get to see it, she
would end up dead in the trunk of a car.

(19:39):
This was the threat that he told her at that time,
and she said she told him take it back, and
he said, take what back? And then she said, I'm
calling my lawyer and you're going to jail. And he said,
I know where you are right now, right on Lexington.
So she did get out of there, but she said
that somebody stole the servers where the pictures were. They
broke into the office and did that. So fortunately the
photographer had them on a disc and they were still

(20:00):
able to do it, but she was just talking about
her time period and even a situation where she went
out with Kim Porter and Diddy showed up, didn't speak
to anyone at the table, dumped Kim's bag upside down
on the table and told her to get out of there,
get home and take care of the kids. Oh everybody
got their stories now, all right, Well, in the meantime,
that is your Yet when we come back, let's talk
to Ken the Man because she's in town. And by

(20:23):
the way, Jack shout out to Jasmine Brand. As soon
as she said that you were going to be guest hosting,
she texted me and said, I love Ken the Man,
but everybody loves you, and so we're going to talk
about that.

Speaker 3 (20:31):
But in the meantime, let's get into BDK.

Speaker 4 (20:34):
They now you notice him, but I'm shorty low, so
uh you wanna intro it?

Speaker 11 (20:39):
Yeah, it's Bdkken of May's.

Speaker 7 (20:43):
Way up with Angela.

Speaker 5 (20:44):
Let's go.

Speaker 12 (20:45):
You are a media maven, right, you never know what
Ange's gonna say.

Speaker 3 (20:49):
All right, that's a fact. It's way up.

Speaker 4 (20:51):
I'm here, Mano's here, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, And our
host of honor today, Ken the Man is here. Know
how to do it, so Ken the Man, for everybody
who's listening, because I know you have a ton of fans.
I'm a fan of yours too. I was just telling me, no,
not my n word. You know, that's my sound. And
of course I can't even say the names of your songs.

Speaker 6 (21:10):
And they cuss a lot.

Speaker 3 (21:11):
That girl, that girl the p song is another song
that I enjoy as in the female you know.

Speaker 4 (21:17):
But anyway, but what I do feel like is it's
very empowering, you know, for me as a woman to
hear songs like those songs where you're talking your ish.
So Ken the Man, Let's talk about how you grew
up in Houston.

Speaker 9 (21:31):
You know what.

Speaker 11 (21:31):
It's so hard to answer that question because I feel
like everybody grew up the same and everything every city,
so we don't have the stoops in the blocks like
that we be. Yeah we got yards and driveways and garage.
But did you grow up confident? Like where where did
that come from?

Speaker 8 (21:49):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (21:49):
I pretty much did.

Speaker 9 (21:51):
I don't.

Speaker 6 (21:51):
I don't think that I ever was in confident.

Speaker 11 (21:55):
My dad instilled like he always was so positive with me,
like you beautiful, like you're the best, and like just
like just a great man.

Speaker 6 (22:03):
You know, so I think that's probably how I grew
up confident.

Speaker 3 (22:07):
And you know, we can see that and hear that
in your music.

Speaker 4 (22:10):
And what people may not also know is that you've
been doing music for almost ten years, and so they
might see where you are right now, see you a
couple of years ago on that Freshman double Excel list,
see you doing freestyles, you know, see all of this,
see the tour, but not realize that it has been a.

Speaker 3 (22:25):
Journey so long, so long.

Speaker 4 (22:27):
Like we just found out you used to eat people's
uber It was anonymous, but you did have day jobs
or you know, night jobs.

Speaker 3 (22:40):
What other jobs did you have?

Speaker 11 (22:41):
I was a waitress. I was always trying to do
a fast money thing. I knew I was in an
office girl. I'm too busy, like I have to.

Speaker 6 (22:48):
I like quick money. I like to see my money
every night in my hand. And I didn't have enough
a s to be a stripper, but I would be at.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
That you said walk a lot because people have different preferences.

Speaker 11 (23:05):
Now it's either you have no backing, no tattoos. I
got tattoos and no back I had to pick a
struggle up.

Speaker 3 (23:10):
And Houston is definitely a place where you go to
the Strip club, because I've been to the Strip Club
in Houston you live quite a few times. And so
when did you realize that you had motion motion?

Speaker 11 (23:23):
I would say like probably twenty nineteen. When I dropped,
he'd be like, and it was turned up. That's when
I got my first manager, and that's when I start
traveling getting booked so much, like for club appearances and stuff.

Speaker 6 (23:35):
I was like, always up this how to wrap money go?
I quit my job twenty nineteen, I stopped eating people Uber.

Speaker 4 (23:41):
Waters Listen, you helped everyone with that, right, But now
I think everyone does that in my opinion, now that
I know that you were doing that.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
So the new album, when is that coming out?

Speaker 11 (23:52):
It's gonna be this year, for sure, I'm like wrapping
it up. I'm just an overthinker, so I'm still like,
I'm still like trying to figure out my last like
two tracks.

Speaker 3 (24:01):
Okay, okay, oh that's pretty far along.

Speaker 11 (24:04):
Yeah, well it was really one, but I'm gonna just
say two because I'm over cheat just in case. Okay,
it's three or four in the title or no, no,
it's it's not gonna No, it's not over. Okay, it's
never over. It might find his way in there. So
I still don't got a name.

Speaker 4 (24:17):
So all right, well we cannot wait to hear it.
So you said we were waiting for the last two songs.
So how many are done?

Speaker 11 (24:24):
I have seventeen done? Wow, But I'm not doing a
seventeen song album. I think I'm gonna like aim for
like thirteen. Okay, I'm just I'm confident in seventeen of them.

Speaker 3 (24:33):
That's a good number.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
Knock some off.

Speaker 11 (24:36):
I'm knocking a lot of them off, and I'm swapping
like I'm probably gonna do.

Speaker 9 (24:39):
What the look?

Speaker 4 (24:40):
So okay, all right, well, ken, the man is here
all morning, and we do have Corey Hartjak joining us
later to talk about the movie that he's in, the
Tyler Perry Divorce Divorce in the Black, also the Way
Up mix at the top of the hour.

Speaker 3 (24:53):
All right, it's way up. Let's get these shots going.

Speaker 7 (24:56):
Says the Rooms from Industry Shade all Gossip Angelus feeling that.

Speaker 4 (25:04):
All right in his way up, I'm here, Mano's here,
and the Man is here, and you know we're eating
pizza right now. I told you it's a pizza party.
I only did this because we were about to have
drinks as well. So yeah, just like you do not
haveing no pizza, mano.

Speaker 6 (25:19):
He's been denying everything and eating and drinking everything.

Speaker 3 (25:22):
All right, Well, let's talk about it.

Speaker 4 (25:24):
Let's talk about eminem As people are waiting for his
next album to come out, he put out a was
out as people were waiting, though, you know, he was
doing a lot of different things now. The day prior yesterday,
he went on social media and said, public service announcement,
The Death of Slim Shady is a conceptual album. Therefore,
if you listen to songs out of order, they might

(25:45):
not make sense.

Speaker 12 (25:46):
You know.

Speaker 4 (25:46):
You also did a collab with White Castle, just that
I put that out there. Yeah, he has a burger.
He did like this white merch thing white Castle. All right, Well, anyway,
the album is out, and here is some of the
early takeaways, because I know it just came out and
we still got a lot that we got to listen to.

Speaker 3 (26:05):
But here is the song Renaissance where he's talking about
y'all haters.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
Now, let's travel inside the mind of a hater.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
See he said what I said.

Speaker 4 (26:13):
Thirty six Chamber is the Wu Tang album a classic
on the Billboard Hot one hundred on top one hundred
rap albums of all time anyway, But he's back at it, guys,
And here is the song Antichrist, and he's definitely taking
a lot of shots at your guy Diddy.

Speaker 1 (26:30):
Next Kitty, you asked me, he's getting his ass beat work.

Speaker 3 (26:33):
All right.

Speaker 4 (26:33):
I mean he took shots at a lot of people
on here. He did even take some shots at Ja Rule,
just so you guys know, yeah he did. And here
he is taking some more shots on fuel. This is
featuring j I.

Speaker 1 (26:47):
D suggest say. It's like, where am I homie? Southwest State?

Speaker 3 (26:52):
All right, So that's just some of what's happening on
this new Eminem album. What do you think so far?
The death of Slim Shady? What do you guys think?

Speaker 8 (27:00):
We're kind of listening out of context? Right, We got
to listen to the whole album, That's what we said, right.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
Yeah, he did. I know it's hard.

Speaker 4 (27:05):
I have to give you something because you know, it
is a new music Friday and we are going to
talk talk about a lot more new music in the
next break, So I just wanted to make sure that
we did this separately.

Speaker 3 (27:14):
Are you an Eminem fan?

Speaker 6 (27:15):
I am, actually, but he's been reckless, so it's not shocking.

Speaker 3 (27:18):
Yeah, I feel like he gets away with a lot
more than the average person.

Speaker 9 (27:21):
He does.

Speaker 4 (27:22):
He can rap though and that and listen, when you
can rap, you can get away with a lot if
you can't rap and you try to do it all right. Well,
it is a new music Friday, like I said, so
when we come back, when we're going to talk about
what's out today.

Speaker 3 (27:36):
On the way in, I was listening to Tank's new project.
You know, I let me some Tank. Yeah, and it
feels like hers is very personal too. But we're going

friend that he has a child.

Speaker 11 (28:30):
So she has no idea, you absolutely no idea. That
news couldn't have left my mouth fast enough. I would
have been calling after my boyfriend was telling me to.
You would have said, we live like Colin Colin Felicia.

Speaker 1 (28:44):
No, no, no, no, your boyfriend told you that in confidence.
You keep that to yourself.

Speaker 11 (28:48):
You gotta tell your girl because she ain't gonna be
friends with their boyfriend. Ain't going nowhere because guys don't care,
like how we care.

has any kids? Because I feel like I overheard something about.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
So crazy business?

Speaker 13 (29:59):

Speaker 1 (30:27):
Going to oh yeah, God, is that?

Speaker 6 (30:30):
Just tell her? I would tell her.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
What if somebody told your business? You know, you got business.

Speaker 4 (30:35):
That's a big business though, you know what I'm saying that.
But the main thing is that she don't want to
get her.

Speaker 3 (30:40):
She don't want her. Man mad at her. That's they
don't get over your girl.

Speaker 1 (30:43):
I don't want her, man and I don't want my girl.

Speaker 9 (30:45):

Speaker 1 (30:47):
If you was my girl, you did that, you got
to get out the house.

Speaker 6 (30:50):
He'll be bad. Don't be scared.

Speaker 1 (30:52):
He'll be valiating my trust.

Speaker 6 (30:54):
He'll be bad.

Speaker 11 (30:55):
Tell her, Teylor, you wanted the board winning advice and
it's not from him, it's from me.

Speaker 1 (31:00):

Speaker 4 (31:18):
All right, Well listen, I'm telling you right now, Teresa,
that's your best friend.

Speaker 3 (31:24):
Imagine if it was the other way around, would you
want to know?

Speaker 6 (31:26):
You would want to know?

Speaker 1 (31:29):
I would that the way we love you though, thanks
for calling.

Speaker 3 (31:32):
Man is a man. He's going to tell you that. Okay, Teresa,
good luck. She's so much more confused now because.

Speaker 6 (31:42):
Don't tell her.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
Why did I call her now?

Speaker 6 (31:45):
I would definitely tell my best friend.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
Anyway.

Speaker 4 (31:51):
Speaking of which you know what's crazy In this movie
Divorce in the Black, there's a scenario Corey Hardrick's character,
he is his best friend is married to his wife's
best friend, and so that's kind of like part of
what the movie is a found that's kind of like
with their situation is.

Speaker 3 (32:07):
But Corey Harjack is coming up next.

Speaker 6 (32:08):
Its way up, everybody, ye what you're all being waiting?

Speaker 7 (32:13):
Folks, you're tapped in the way up with Angela yee?

Speaker 3 (32:18):
What's up?

Speaker 4 (32:18):
It's way up with Angela yee. I'm Angela yee. My
guy Maino here with me, and I don't know how
to feel about Corey Harjack, but he's here today too.
But yes, we The reason why I had a little
shade towards you was because I did see Divorce in
the Black.

Speaker 2 (32:33):
Now with the shade towards me or Dallas, you're.

Speaker 3 (32:37):
Right to our statue different your character.

Speaker 4 (32:39):
The movie has come out now and I see everybody
kind of talking about it on social media and they said,
you did that too good.

Speaker 2 (32:45):
They're going crazy.

Speaker 12 (32:47):
I put my thirty years of acting experience into this movie,
like all the raw emotions. First day of working, me
and Megan was about to do a scene. Meghan came in,
you know, all looking nice and made up, and she
says something to me, and then I threw something out there.
I was like, yeah, you need to sign these papers
something but I said, right, but it wasn't in the dialogue,
but I did it to wake her up, to get

(33:08):
her in that mold, to let her know I'm here
to work and we're not friends. Right now, Megan, we
got to go at each other to give the best
energy for the camera. Tyll to come out the back
and said, Corey, hold on, they talked to you for
a minute.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
He grabbed me quick, right.

Speaker 12 (33:19):
I said, damn you finna put me on the flight
back there lay I dine blew my opportunity. He said, look, Corey,
I know where you're going with this, right, I love it.
Just stay there, but we're gonna get to that.

Speaker 1 (33:27):
You can call it.

Speaker 2 (33:28):
You can do all that later, he said, not on
this scene. Something sign of papers. And when I woke
Meggan up, Megan looked at me like this mother on camera.

Speaker 9 (33:44):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
She came there looking like, oh my god, I love Megan.

Speaker 2 (33:49):
That's my sister. I told her what I was doing
the first thing.

Speaker 4 (33:52):
You should have thought too was because she's the one
that referred you for that job. Was like, man, I'm
Megan them referred me for a job.

Speaker 3 (33:59):
I came in here and.

Speaker 12 (34:01):
Meghan knew what I was doing, Like she know what
kind of actors. That's why she told you, because I
didn't even.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
Know it never works for him?

Speaker 2 (34:07):
Never I didn't.

Speaker 12 (34:09):
He said, Meghan, what actor out there? You think that's
really good, dope whatever that you would love to work with?
First thing, she said, Corey Hardrick.

Speaker 3 (34:16):
Right now, MANA and I are talking to Corey Hardrake.

Speaker 1 (34:18):
Yeah, I had good chemistry.

Speaker 8 (34:20):
Yeah, she's the only person on the entire planet Earth
that still reads what is it?

Speaker 1 (34:26):
What's that site? Media take media take out?

Speaker 3 (34:28):
But you want to hear the story about you?

Speaker 1 (34:30):
They got a story about you.

Speaker 3 (34:31):
Want it quite funny?

Speaker 2 (34:32):
You want to hear it right now?

Speaker 3 (34:34):
Said that Jonathan Major's was jealous at the chemistry that
you and Meghan had on set.

Speaker 2 (34:41):
I just posted them in my story. Are you serious?

Speaker 3 (34:44):
Yes, I'm dead serious.

Speaker 12 (34:45):
Jonathan came to me after rap party. He said, man,
you you really grounded this family. He said, you are
so real and raw. He should say, man, you are amazing.
I gave him this flower you amazing too. Don't let
nothing stop you. Man, I said, you're cool boy. Just
get back Just get back in it. Man, you and
your correct don't get back in it however you do.
But he showed a lot of love and it was

(35:07):
you know, it was real. And I just feel like,
you know, it's.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
About another chance and I'm trying to destroy no black man.
Ain't nobody that matter, you know.

Speaker 3 (35:16):
But keep be hating, I be hating.

Speaker 2 (35:20):
I'm gonna listen.

Speaker 12 (35:21):
The thing I don't like is how people try to
play god for people's lives. Ain't nobody god, nobody. You
can't determine that outcome and what he needs to be
doing and what's gonna happen because make it good.

Speaker 3 (35:32):
But single for a second. So a lot of guys
were kind of mad.

Speaker 2 (35:35):
I don't know a bit to say.

Speaker 3 (35:37):
When she got When she got.

Speaker 4 (35:38):
Divorced and she was single for a second, a lot
of guys were like, man.

Speaker 3 (35:42):
Man, it was one of never mind, just forget that.

Speaker 13 (35:45):
What you do.

Speaker 3 (35:46):
He was just hating you.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
Listen, you got it. You gotta understand where you're at
right now. This is the way up show. It's crazy.

Speaker 4 (35:55):
It's crazy, all right, Corey Hardrick is here and he
is starring in Divorce in the Black at right now
on Amazon Prime.

Speaker 3 (36:02):
We have more with him when we come back. It's
way up.

Speaker 7 (36:04):
It's way up with Angela.

Speaker 2 (36:05):
Let's go.

Speaker 12 (36:06):
You are a media maven, right, you never know what
Ange's gonna say.

Speaker 2 (36:11):
What's up?

Speaker 4 (36:12):
His way up with Angela? Yee, I'm here, of course
me know's here and Corey Hardrick is in the building.

Speaker 6 (36:16):
So Corey.

Speaker 4 (36:17):
When Divorce in the Black first came out just now,
everybody was talking about that opening scene in the funeral home.

Speaker 2 (36:23):
Oh, we picked it up there, picked that body up.

Speaker 5 (36:26):
Boy.

Speaker 4 (36:26):
And by the way, this isn't like the first time,
I guy, so you don't feel like you're giving it away.

Speaker 12 (36:30):
He's a real like a boxer or something fighter. And
that dude was thick, like he just hocktails all day.

Speaker 13 (36:37):
Hey, look he played dead for real. So you know
how you drop an extra twenty pounds on you? Yeah,
because you just laying flat, sir on my right, and
he really committed to it.

Speaker 2 (36:47):
I'm like, I'm like, I'm whispering to him, right, but
I'm like, man, would.

Speaker 1 (36:54):
You stand your ass something?

Speaker 2 (36:55):
Man like seven times him out the church? Wowpt wingips.
I say, this dude is really in it, and he
had no dialogue.

Speaker 3 (37:08):
I've never seen anything like that before.

Speaker 4 (37:10):
But it did open up a conversation about fighting at
a funeral, because at funerals emotions are high. There's a
lot of talk about money, who was wrong?

Speaker 3 (37:19):
Who was this?

Speaker 4 (37:20):
Sometimes his side pieces come out and nobody never seen
this person before.

Speaker 3 (37:25):
Sometimes the kids, you didn't know that the person has
a funeral.

Speaker 2 (37:28):
Anybody show up and it's kind of like, have you
ever had.

Speaker 3 (37:31):
Any crazy funeral experiences?

Speaker 9 (37:34):
Nah?

Speaker 3 (37:34):
I haven't, man, have you?

Speaker 10 (37:36):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (37:36):
I had to fight at a funeral before, and I
felt really bad for it, man, you know, and they
was like, main, really.

Speaker 1 (37:44):
It was bad. I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (37:45):
Yeah, he's just want us to get that off.

Speaker 4 (37:48):
But that seemed right now. MANO and I are talking
to Corey Hardrick. Do you see yourself working with Tyler
Perry again? Have you already had that conversation? Because you
know he's got NonStop projects.

Speaker 12 (37:58):
I do don't do more movies together. He hugged me
the other night, said I love you, Corey, I'm proud
of you.

Speaker 4 (38:04):
And people always have positive things to say about working
with him. I saw Meghan Good said she got paid
what she deserves to get paid after working with him.

Speaker 3 (38:11):
How are those negotiations for you?

Speaker 12 (38:13):
Listen, I can say the same as Megan. I worked
on this movie three weeks and I've done movies for
five months. Studio seventy million dollar budget and he paid
me the most ever made three weeks.

Speaker 3 (38:25):
Damn.

Speaker 2 (38:25):
So that is real. That's real. He take care of
his people.

Speaker 12 (38:28):
You know, I don't mind the stairs approach, but damn it,
I'm ready for the elevator. You know what I'm saying,
and I'm working. I know I'm one of the best
in the world. Like I say that humbly, so you
may know. Like I know, the hood loved me and.

Speaker 1 (38:39):
They like Corey.

Speaker 12 (38:40):
I can Corey, I'm waiting for you, like I hear it,
and I'm like, you know what, in due time, But
I feel like the time could be like right now.

Speaker 3 (38:47):

Speaker 10 (38:49):

Speaker 1 (38:50):

Speaker 3 (38:51):

with the Lord.

I ain't scared of nobody. I'm a grown ass man.

Speaker 3 (39:05):
