Speaker 3 (05:25):
Yee t too has made it in and let's get
into some yea and tea. Gepping you up to date
on everything that's happening in entertainment. Andre three thousand has
announced his long awaited solo album. He posted it New
Blue Sun November seventeenth. That is in three days, that's
on Friday, and it is definitely not what you might

(05:45):
think it is.

Speaker 8 (05:46):
Now.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
He did sit down with NPR and here's what he
had to say about writing and being a slow writer.

Speaker 12 (05:53):
I was always like a slow writer. I'm not a freestyler,
Like I don't be freestyling and I wouldn't bless you
know with that. I'm a writer. I construct an architect
versus in a way, like, you know, that's what I've
been doing, you know, all my life, and so you know,
I look at it in that way. And if I'm
not satisfied with what it is, I mean, I just
don't put it out, so you know, and these times

(06:14):
it's just comes harder for me to do it. And
I don't know why. I mean, I try it all
the time.

Speaker 4 (06:19):
All right. It's interesting because this album is all you,
no lyrics.

Speaker 5 (06:24):
Right, I'm a little disappointed. I'm not gonna lie, but
what I wanted to hear a rap album. I didn't
want to hear flutes. But it's not it's not my choice.

Speaker 13 (06:33):
First of all, he needs to find his team. Why
why is he on NPR trying to pop up album out?

Speaker 2 (06:41):
They ain't known for releasing albums. No, but you not.
He should have came here and dropped the t on you.
That's what we already message that fact.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
And listen, it's an eighty seven minute album, not no flutes.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
No, who is he?

Speaker 14 (06:59):
His?

Speaker 15 (06:59):
He?

Speaker 2 (07:00):
You keep trying to cut me off to talk about reality.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
M Oh my gosh, Yaminika man, we were on the radio.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Oh y'all give me a little of things I can't
say and that you're gonna I didn't know that. I
live in my own world.

Speaker 4 (07:16):
But anyway, here's what else he had to say.

Speaker 13 (07:18):
All these words on here, Angela, why would you even
invite me on this show?

Speaker 4 (07:23):
Listen where you can say.

Speaker 13 (07:24):
It's a list of everything that's in my bolt camp.
I've been saying half of this stuff since i was
three years old.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
Okay, well today it's going to be trying.

Speaker 5 (07:32):
Oh coffee, we'll get us some coffee.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
Let me that.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
Here is AJ three thousand talking about why he decided
that he wanted to share this album.

Speaker 12 (07:41):
I have songs, you know, but it's not like rap
things that I really really feel happy about sharing. And
you know that's why A New Blue son was something
that I realized, WHOA, I really want people to hear
and I really want to share it. Like so, once
we started recording New Blue, I think like three songs in,

(08:02):
I was like, oh we got something.

Speaker 13 (08:04):
Okay, when did you think three songs in you had something?

Speaker 2 (08:08):
We ain't got no words too?

Speaker 5 (08:09):
Well, listen, did you see the track listing number? Look
at number two? Please, Angela, can you please read track
number two?

Speaker 4 (08:15):
This sing word P. I can't say the full word
but it rhymes with bussy.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
Can I say that rolls off the tongue with far
better ease and the proper word vagina.

Speaker 5 (08:24):
Do you agree that's a name of a song. That's
the name of Oh now you're on t.

Speaker 4 (08:28):
No, no, no, no.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
I'm not no, no, no, it's not.

Speaker 13 (08:30):
It's still not as bad as when Brian McKnight said,
let me show you how your pee work.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
Remember that during cod Remember when everybody.

Speaker 13 (08:37):
Was stressed out. Yeah, because we didn't know what was
happening with Brian McKnight.

Speaker 4 (08:41):
Onto this YG story.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
A man has asked YG to delete this photo that
YG posted, not knowing that this was this man's baby mother.

Speaker 13 (08:48):
Wait, is it too lace for me to stop you
from moving on to this? Yes, so we never really
talked about Andree three thousand. We'll come back to it now.
Here's what happened. Gave me the mines, Okay, all right,
I see, okay, CEO, why she just gave me?

Speaker 4 (09:01):
Now this guy and J Junior said, that's my baby.

Speaker 13 (09:03):
Mamas, I can't say, CEO, take.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
This down now.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
And the woman is in the strip club getting Dalla's
thrown on her, and YG is there, and here's what
he had to say, this.

Speaker 10 (09:13):
Is a message for YG from a real one or
a real one. Man, I'm asking that you please take
my baby mama, you know what I mean, off your
ig with her, you know, picture of her busting it
all lop and and whatnot.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
I kind of don't believe this in a way. I
think it's like a I think it's a joke, because
why would you bring more attention to it?

Speaker 4 (09:31):
She looked good.

Speaker 5 (09:32):
Well, look at her leg up there.

Speaker 4 (09:33):
Yeah, she's flexible.

Speaker 13 (09:35):
First of all, any message from a real one to
a real one is not gonna start with please.

Speaker 4 (09:41):
Well why G didn't know? In all fairness, he don't
know this, simon.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
Who's the man but the baby daddy?

Speaker 4 (09:46):
I don't know?

Speaker 2 (09:47):
Just c That's what I'm saying. Do he even notice?

Speaker 13 (09:50):
Take a good look at her, take a good look
at him, then look back at her and see if
at any point of time.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
Does she need to be with he when she could
do this with that?

Speaker 3 (10:00):
Let me look at this man's page and see if
he has his way posted on there. All right, well
that is your yet, And when we come back, we
have about last night. That's where we discussed what we
did last night. So yeah, Minika, you're gonna tell us
everything you got into. It's way up at Angela.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
Ye, yeah last night.

Speaker 7 (10:14):
So about last night?

Speaker 16 (10:16):
Last night?

Speaker 2 (10:17):
Last night I went down.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
It's way up at Angela.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
Yee.

Speaker 4 (10:21):
I'm Angela yee. Jasmine brand is back.

Speaker 5 (10:23):
Yes, any brand, I'm my own brand.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
And yah Anika.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
Yes, one of my favorite comedians is here with me today.
I love that. And so was just doing the water
dance and teaching us how to do that.

Speaker 5 (10:36):
Actually, I thought you were joking, but you actually know
how to do it.

Speaker 13 (10:39):
I've watched the youtubes on it a couple of times.
I think I'm missing one part. I definitely can't pop
it like that.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
But okay, well I can let that good. But let's
get into this about last night. What did you do
last night?

Speaker 11 (10:52):
Well?

Speaker 2 (10:52):
I took my cat, Brooklyn to the hospital.

Speaker 13 (10:55):
How's that going? I love cats? Yeah, I love my baby.
I rescued him. He's such a beautiful cat. He's fifteen, yes,
just of heart failure, and so I've just been spending
a lot of time with him. He got rushed the
emergency room on my birthday. No from a third do
have pet insurance? I do, but it's you know, you
got to pay first, and you know it comes back.

(11:16):
So my last cat for a magazine, he got cancer
out of.

Speaker 5 (11:20):
What was your last cat's name?

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Forbes magazine.

Speaker 13 (11:22):
I called him for magazine because I thought I was
going to hold him on Forbes magazine because I had
a lot of steam back then when I was in
my thirties. But now that I've gotten into my forties,
I know I'm realistic. Stop it.

Speaker 4 (11:31):
No, yes, that's colored Forbes.

Speaker 13 (11:35):
But yeah, no, he passed, and then I had to
get insurance. Pet insurance is difficult because they don't do
pre existing and a lot of people don't think about
getting pet insurance until.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
It's too late.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
And that's a fact.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
Yeah, yeah, I had pet insurance for my my little puppy.

Speaker 4 (11:50):
So it's an important thing. Prayers for Brooklyn than for Brooklyn.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
All right, now, we did want to talk about something
because we notice that you do this, Yeahminica, code switching.
All right now, we all know what code switching is.

Speaker 2 (12:04):
We're talking to Godfrey.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
That's when you get around a certain group of people
and you talk differently. This all comes to Mario Lopez.
There was a video of him hanging out with one
of his homies.

Speaker 5 (12:13):
Okay and homies.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
And here's what he sounded like with one of his friends.

Speaker 17 (12:20):
And my friend UNA's right here, go's some classics, right,
you get down on that.

Speaker 4 (12:24):
And I got some Malina. We got four feast.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
But I like dole Amaya.

Speaker 17 (12:28):
I get right there. If you puts too and you
get oh no, this is a good one, right, hero
might be looking spicy for.

Speaker 4 (12:34):
You, Okay.

Speaker 3 (12:36):
So yes, he is Mexican, and a lot of people
feel like he sounds whitewashed when he's on television and speaking.

Speaker 4 (12:42):
They're like, I know he was that Mexican.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
Well here's what he had to say in response to
this viral TikTok.

Speaker 18 (12:48):
People don't think I'm Mexican? Is that a trip with
a name like Mario Lopez? And I think it's because
I've been doing these food.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
Videos with my homies and you know I'm talking.

Speaker 18 (12:56):
I'm saying food and homes and a lot of like
slang and just kind of yourself. And I can't be
like that on Access Hollywood, on a radio show.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
I'm trying to cash these checks.

Speaker 18 (13:05):
I can't be sound at all hood like that. I
gotta I gotta keep it a little more polished and
buttoned up.

Speaker 4 (13:11):
I feel like that response was not good.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
That was not a great I can't no, no, no,
no, no no no.

Speaker 13 (13:16):
First of all, we in a time where people, they
like people sound ignorant.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
They do. Remember when Cardi B first came out, people.

Speaker 13 (13:24):
Mad that she's polished herself up. They want they want
to Cardy B with no teeth running around here. See no,
she was missing a couple of teeth with some of
the tea was all over the place anyway. See that's
what they like.

Speaker 3 (13:34):
But listen, and I do feel like there is some
truth to the fact that people like authenticity.

Speaker 4 (13:38):
And we'll talk about that more when we come back.

Speaker 3 (13:40):
We want to see what you guys think about code
switching and if you do it, and how you feel
about it. Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty
is a number sometimes I hear white people also code
switch when they talk to black people. Eight hundred two
ninety two fifty one fifty. Let us know your thoughts.

Speaker 18 (13:53):
Its way up this yeah, yeah, more way up with
Now you know what it is, who it is?

Speaker 3 (14:01):
All right, It's way up. Put angela ye, angela ye.
Jasmine brand is.

Speaker 19 (14:05):
Here, not just any brand.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
On my own brand.

Speaker 4 (14:07):
My girl, Yah, Monika is here. Finally got you on
the show.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
Happy to be here.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
All right, way up there we go, now we hear you.
And yeah, Monika is a comedian. To make sure you
guys follow her on social media. Hilarious, you're on that
show too on Hulu with Amy Schumer that I enjoy
Life in Bath.

Speaker 13 (14:25):
Yes, Life and Bath season two is coming out in February,
so I'm really excited about it.

Speaker 5 (14:30):
Yeah, that is different.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
Yes, really excited about it.

Speaker 3 (14:35):
And speaking of code switching, we're talking about Mario Lopez. Now,
this one viral of him, you know, hanging out with
his friends and people are like, I didn't know he
was that Mexican.

Speaker 4 (14:44):
Here's what it sounded like.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
We were.

Speaker 17 (14:46):
My friend Una is right here, got some classics, right,
you get done on.

Speaker 4 (14:50):
That, and I got some we got four feast.

Speaker 17 (14:52):
But I like, Amaya, I get right there if you too,
he gets, oh no, this is a good one right here, though,
might be looking his face.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
For you talk Darland.

Speaker 3 (15:01):
All right, Well, this went viral, and of course Mario
Lopez responded, and here's what he has to say about
his code switching.

Speaker 18 (15:08):
People don't think I'm Mexican. Is that a trip with
a name like Mario Lopez? And I think it's because
I've been doing these food videos with my homies and
you know, I'm talking. I'm saying food and homes and
a lot of like slang and just kind of being yourself.
And I can't be like that on Access Hollywood arm
a radio show.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
I'm trying to cash these checks.

Speaker 18 (15:26):
I can't be sounding all hood like that. I gotta
I gotta keep it a little more polished and buttoned up.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
Oh man, I didn't like that he said hood. His
natural way of speaking with his friends is quote unquote hood.
Now I understand patois right. We hear a lot of
people who are, you know, from the Caribbean. Yeah, and
they may speak a certain way in their patois when
they were around people, and then another then they don't
do that. That's all gone when they speak to you know,
at work. That happens a lot of times. Yeah, but

(15:53):
I don't know that I would consider that hood. You know,
sometimes people do speak a different way around their friends.

Speaker 15 (15:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 13 (15:59):
Well, it's because we've allow people to tell us what
is professional and not professional. Right, So then it was
also right we study so we study, we learn to speak.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
We need learn to communicate. We learn how to say
certain words.

Speaker 13 (16:11):
If you're in a certain field where communication is key,
then this is you know, it's a sort of way
of people respect you.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
They know you've had a certain level of education and understanding.

Speaker 13 (16:20):
Yeah, if you sound like you ain't got no education,
then people don't treat you a certain way, which is
unfortunate because you don't have to speak well to be
someone who's in tough.

Speaker 3 (16:29):
I remember what we should bother to me when Obama
was our president, and they'd be like he's so articulate, Like.

Speaker 5 (16:34):
Yeah, I don't like that, which you know, also, black
and brown people don't set the standard in terms of
what's professional, what's appropriate. So if it doesn't come from us,
typically it's not appropriate and it's not the standards.

Speaker 15 (16:45):
Right.

Speaker 4 (16:45):
We go to work and we have to speak a
different way.

Speaker 3 (16:47):
It was interesting over the weekend I was at the
Honeyland Festival and I interviewed Tabitha Brown and she was
talking about how she used to switch up how she
talks right. You know, she's from Eden, North Carolina, and
she said that she would straighten her here, she would
switch her voice up and do all of that code switching,
and then when she finally was able to be who
she really was, that's when the money started pouring in

(17:09):
and she started to excel. Because sometimes we try to
change who we are to fit in to a certain place.
You know how people would be like, oh, you're so
well spoken, you sound white, you talk white?

Speaker 2 (17:18):
Yeah, and why is that we say that to each
other too. That's also the problem.

Speaker 5 (17:23):
But it's gotta be exhausting, cold, like just not being
yourself all the time.

Speaker 4 (17:27):
All right, well, let's see what you guys think. Kristin,
how are you hie?

Speaker 3 (17:31):
Hey, y'all, Monika's here, a Jasmin's here, and we're talking
about code switching?

Speaker 15 (17:35):
Do you do that?

Speaker 18 (17:36):
Yes?

Speaker 9 (17:36):
I do so.

Speaker 16 (17:37):
And I'm also avoiding woman. So I feel like I
have to do a lot depend on who I'm around,
especially at work because our last name. So when I
make phone calls, ask a certain way, and then when
they see me a person to do a different old song,
they're like, wait, you're the same person on the phone.

Speaker 5 (17:56):
You hear y'all want to hear your phone voice?

Speaker 4 (17:59):
Please?

Speaker 16 (18:00):
Okay, So I'm like the morning, how are you?

Speaker 11 (18:03):
And like, hey, what's up.

Speaker 13 (18:05):
I mean it's not that yeah, yeah, no, you sound good,
but you definitely sound like as soon as I hear
your voice, I'm gonna ask for the manager.

Speaker 11 (18:20):
Like I am the manager.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
I know you will.

Speaker 9 (18:22):
I know you will.

Speaker 4 (18:24):
Tell them all right, Thank you, Kristin. Hey, Jay, how
are you well?

Speaker 10 (18:29):
How are you?

Speaker 19 (18:29):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (18:30):
Yeah, he already cold switching?

Speaker 4 (18:32):
This is your normal Yeah?

Speaker 5 (18:35):
Is this your cold switching voice? Or is this your
real voice?

Speaker 8 (18:39):
This is my excited voice. But you know, you you
gotta slide it in little professional sometimes, but for the
most part, you gotta keep it cut.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
So okay.

Speaker 8 (18:47):
But what I was saying is, you know, when it
comes down to who's on the other line, you know,
I'm making a phone call and I don't know who
it is.

Speaker 9 (18:53):
I'm like, all right, this is Jay, how are you?

Speaker 6 (18:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (18:58):
Okay, okay, okay, yeah.

Speaker 8 (19:00):
Sometimes you know Brook on the other line, I'm like,
what's going on? I'm black and bliss.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
How are you doing?

Speaker 15 (19:07):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (19:07):
Yeah, black and blessed. I love his voice, but thank you,
we'll buy it.

Speaker 8 (19:13):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (19:15):
Hey, Kyler, how.

Speaker 16 (19:16):
Are you medicated?

Speaker 9 (19:18):
As all?

Speaker 18 (19:18):
We?

Speaker 2 (19:19):
Okay?

Speaker 6 (19:21):
Here?

Speaker 4 (19:21):
You know, Carla, what is your code switching voice? Do
you have one?

Speaker 2 (19:27):
Yes, I do.

Speaker 4 (19:28):
I have several.

Speaker 11 (19:28):
It depends on where I'm at. I have one in
case I'm in court, if I'm at work. It just
really depends on court voice.

Speaker 16 (19:38):
Sir, I am so sorry that I sle this girl.
Her stupidity made me, you know, react that way.

Speaker 5 (19:45):
Okay, kind of like the White Valley Girl.

Speaker 4 (19:50):
Yeah, that's what I'm going for. It's very victim like.
You know, it wasn't my you know, what's your other voices?

Speaker 16 (19:58):
Some people say I found hood.

Speaker 8 (20:00):
I might tell somebody to go to hell. The mama
should have the daddy should have flushed them, don't.

Speaker 13 (20:08):
You know?

Speaker 9 (20:09):
Oh no, I don't. But I did tell my judge
one day I was allergic to stupid.

Speaker 2 (20:13):
I hear that you're doing a lot of court talk
your dates.

Speaker 6 (20:17):
You know what.

Speaker 11 (20:18):
No, I'm just the victim of my environment.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
I like her.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
Well, thank you Carlo for calling in.

Speaker 8 (20:29):
No problem. I'm about to go finish my lunch and
smoke my blunt.

Speaker 4 (20:32):
Okay, we know that's right.

Speaker 3 (20:34):
And when we come back, we have your yea T
We'll be talking about Jasmine Brand Exclusive and this has
to do with Braxton family values. We never thought that
show would come back and guess what looks like it is?
According to the Jasmine Brand, it's way up. She's like
to talk like they Angela Jean, like they Angela Jean, and.

Speaker 7 (20:53):
She's spilling it all. This is yeaky, way up.

Speaker 3 (20:59):
All right, it's way up. But Angela ye, I'm Angela yee.
Jasmine Brand is here.

Speaker 5 (21:03):
Yes, I'm here, Angela.

Speaker 4 (21:04):
Yeah, Monika is here.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
Hello, and it's time for some ut.

Speaker 3 (21:07):
Y'all really want to talk about Krishan because you guys
are both kind of Baltimore girls in a way.

Speaker 18 (21:13):
J D.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
Yeah, I was born in Baltimore, raised in Aberdeen. I wasn't.

Speaker 5 (21:17):
I wasn't born in Baltimore. I was born in Omaha,
but I went to Morgan State University. I've been in
DC like twenty years.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
So okay, all right.

Speaker 3 (21:25):
So first let's talk about Braxton Family Values. This is
a Jasmine Brand exclusive. That show is returning to wee TV.
I did not think this would happen because Tamar has
such an issue with wee TV, and you know, she
did have a reported suicide attempt that was in the
promotional footage, right, and so she had posted f WeTV

(21:46):
and whoever else is participating using my pain for their
pleasure and ratings.

Speaker 5 (21:51):
But she was with that do when she said that,
who was also like, yeah, David that remember she was
dating that guy, David.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
Yeah, that was all during his time. I feel like
he had a lot.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
To do with that.

Speaker 5 (22:00):
Okay, we're gonna blame David, all right.

Speaker 3 (22:01):
All right, Well it's now gonna be returning. So what
is do you have more information on this exclusive jet?

Speaker 5 (22:07):
So the bottom line is they have not signed all
of them have not signed contracts yet, but they are
in the process of signing contracts and it's highly likely
that the show is coming back. Everyone's supposed to participate,
and I guess we're gonna see. It's a lot going
on with all of them right now, So I guess
we're gonna see. You know what's going on. This would
have been really good for you know, the next door
we're about to talk about, all.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
Right, Well, yes, in this next story, Krishan has deactivated
her social media and we've watched all of this play
out over the past few days.

Speaker 4 (22:36):
But this all started on Friday, November tenth.

Speaker 3 (22:38):
She's been accused of assault, and that is while she
was at a tamar and Braxton concert and she went
on the stage.

Speaker 4 (22:46):
Now what she invited or was she not invited to perform?

Speaker 5 (22:49):
No, it doesn't sound like she was in it. It
sounds like Tamar invited her to come on stage.

Speaker 4 (22:54):
But let's all right, Well here's what Tamar had to say.

Speaker 14 (22:57):
Krishan was definitely someone that I invited someone to actually,
you know, looked at from Afar as like a younger sister.
She's from Baltimore. Oh, this was somebody I wanted to
meet to. You don't possibly take under my wing. I
didn't call Kashan to open up, but when she was
in my dressing room, we do a torque off portion, right,
and I was like, oh, it'd be cool if you

(23:17):
if the DJ played is a vibe and you came
out and did a vibe like the people you know,
Baltimore sisters, And that's really what I was thinking.

Speaker 4 (23:24):
All right, Well things did not go as planned.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
Well she came on with a mic, didn't sheean had
a mic in her hand?

Speaker 15 (23:31):
Right?

Speaker 4 (23:31):
Yeah? Did she ever make it?

Speaker 5 (23:33):
She did at some point, but it wasn't.

Speaker 4 (23:36):
Trying to write yea.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
So maybe there was a miscommunication, right, she thought, Maybe
she thought I'm gonna get on stage and do a
little something.

Speaker 1 (23:43):
She was high.

Speaker 13 (23:44):
See when you high and somebody say something, you're not
really processing it.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
Do we know that that Krishan was high? I mean right,
because we don't know, like get sued, right, we don't
know that. But I'm saying on behalf of me and
no part of this network. I'm almost was ninety nine
point nine percent sure that she was high.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
Allegedly, Well, things went very very left, as they are,
as they tend to do. And here's what else Tamar
had to say, because you know, after all of this happened,
James Wright Channell, who says that he was an innocent
bystander who was attacked, actually went live. He was at
the dentist's office getting his teeth fixed after this alleged assault.

Speaker 4 (24:22):
And so here's what Tamar had to say after this.

Speaker 14 (24:26):
I think that there was a misunderstanding. And everybody that's
come to a Tamar show know that we don't have
any violence. No one has ever fought at my concerts.
And I have to apologize to my team if my
silence have made you all feel like I have not
been supportive to you.

Speaker 4 (24:46):
I didn't want any of this to happen. Okay, all right,
it was a very unfortunate incident all around.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
Like I said, Kashan has since deactivated her Instagram account.

Speaker 4 (24:55):
She is a new mom and she is very publicly
going through a lot of things.

Speaker 13 (24:59):
Might have postpartum, there's a lot of things, you know
what I'm saying. She's she's been doing a lot. What
I will say about Tamar, and I've had the opportunity
to meet her. She's a lovely woman, So I don't Yeah,
I don't think she was trying to set that young
lady up. And I believe that she thinks, you know,
because they homegirls and from the same town, that she
can help her.

Speaker 4 (25:17):
Yeah, she was trying to be positive. Yeah, all right,
well that is your YUTM.

Speaker 3 (25:20):
When we come back, we have under the radar and
as we're thinking about all of this AI generated content,
I'm going to tell you what YouTube is going to
do to try to maybe put a kebash on certain things.
But in the meantime, let's hear some of Drake. He's
going back on tour again baby with Ja Cole for
some days here. It's best I ever had.

Speaker 7 (25:38):
It's way up in the news that relates to you
these stories are flying under the radar.

Speaker 3 (25:43):
All right, it's way up with Angela. Yee, I'm Angela,
ye Jasmine.

Speaker 2 (25:46):
Brand, any brand, I'm my own brand.

Speaker 4 (25:49):
And our girl Ya Monika is here with us.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
Hey, I love that.

Speaker 3 (25:53):
All right, let's get into some under the radar stories,
not necessarily in the headlines, but you need to know
about them. YouTube is now going to require creators to
flag AI generated content, and so now they'll be able
to request removal of deep fakes, including music videos that
mimic an artist's voice. You know, as everybody is using AI,
we have to find ways to protect the artists and

(26:14):
the creators too, and so that people know what's real
and what's not.

Speaker 5 (26:17):
Okay, that's fair.

Speaker 2 (26:18):
Well, I mean they got this one with jay Z
doing Beyonce choreography. We gotta get that.

Speaker 1 (26:25):
Love that.

Speaker 3 (26:25):
It looks good, but you know what, you can keep it,
but you have to disclose that information. So they need
to make sure that you can flag so you know
that's not really jay Z doing Beyonce choreography.

Speaker 5 (26:36):
You know, I definitely thought that was really jay Z. Okay, Angela,
all right now.

Speaker 3 (26:43):
YouTube said they will also make it possible for users
to request the removal of AI generated other synthetic or
altered content that simulates an identifiable individual using their face
or voice, and you'll be able to do that with
YouTube's privacy request process.

Speaker 5 (27:00):
Oh you know what, I wonder at some point if
they're going to have like fake comedians, like you know,
like if I want to use your voice now to
have a problem with I'm gonna I want to use
your voice. I have this corny joke and I want
to use your voice to make it funny.

Speaker 4 (27:13):
Imagine yo, yeah, into a bar.

Speaker 19 (27:16):
It hurts.

Speaker 2 (27:16):
Nobody thought about this until y'all started talking about this.

Speaker 5 (27:19):
I'm and then also like we can bring Bernie back
back because we can have jokes, you know, like jokes.

Speaker 3 (27:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 13 (27:24):
No, I would love to bring some of the greats back.
But who's going to write for them? Is the problem me?

Speaker 5 (27:28):
Because I have I'm awful on it, and it would
be it'd be so bad to be funny.

Speaker 4 (27:31):
Well, now, y'all Monika has an issue with AI, you're
going to go. She loved it all right.

Speaker 18 (27:36):
Now.

Speaker 3 (27:36):
Google is going to start deleting many Gmail accounts soon,
and that's going to be starting December first.

Speaker 4 (27:41):
That is really soon.

Speaker 3 (27:43):
So older accounts is what they're really trying to get
rid of, because those accounts can be susceptible to hacks.
Forgotten or unattended accounts often rely on older we use
passwords that may have been compromised.

Speaker 4 (27:54):
So people got to start knowing those old Gmail accounts
will be too.

Speaker 13 (27:58):
I got to get in it because I you know,
you create fake accounts to track your exes.

Speaker 2 (28:04):
How do you do?

Speaker 5 (28:05):
What are you gonna do with a fake email?

Speaker 2 (28:06):
A dress you got because you gotta sign off for
things to go behind.

Speaker 5 (28:10):
Like like your fence to you need an email account,
so you need to fake email.

Speaker 4 (28:13):
You don't even need that anymore because you just go online.

Speaker 5 (28:16):
Why do you know this, Angela?

Speaker 3 (28:17):
Because I actually learned this from watching Love Is Blind. Okay,
you can go online and privately look at people's Instagram
pages and they can't see you.

Speaker 4 (28:25):
Okay, I know is you're under the radar? Now you know?
We have the Way Mixed coming at the top of
the hour. Plus. Kyomi mcmiller is going to be joining.

Speaker 3 (28:34):
She's the youngest athlete to get an NIL deal with
Jordan Brand. She's a she's still in high school. All
the schools want her. She is one of the top players.
All right, so she's going to be joining us. It's
the way you put Angela yee.

Speaker 7 (28:46):
They say rooms from industry shade to all of gossip out.
Angela's spelling that et.

Speaker 3 (28:54):
All right, and it's way you put Angela yee. I'm
Angela yee. Jasmine brand is here, Yeah, I'm my own brand. Yeah,
Monika's here.

Speaker 9 (29:02):
Hey.

Speaker 3 (29:03):
And we are eating some of Patty Labelle's Patty's Pie
sweet Potato pies.

Speaker 5 (29:07):
It's so good.

Speaker 4 (29:07):
It's good getting ready for the holidays.

Speaker 5 (29:09):
It would be good with coffee too.

Speaker 4 (29:11):
We have coffee.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
I have these bellies. Yeah, so good.

Speaker 4 (29:13):
Yeah, all right, well let's get into some yeat.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
Now, do y'all have any superstitions because Patrick Mahomes has
confirmed that he's worn the same pair of underwear every
game day for his entire NFL career. All right, so
here's what he had to say while he was on
ESPN's Manning Cast.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
I throw him on that first season. We had a
pretty good season that season.

Speaker 10 (29:36):
Only wear him for game day though, So I can't
get They're not too worn down, They're not like these
like nasty under clean.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
And wash them, wash them. I do love to washing
them every once.

Speaker 16 (29:44):
In a while, at least.

Speaker 5 (29:45):
Oh wait a minute, he said he watches them every
once in a while.

Speaker 4 (29:48):
He said that they're on a hot streak. He can't
watch them. He got to keep it rolling.

Speaker 13 (29:52):
And the problem is you doing all that running around
and sweating in those drawers. That's the problem, and it's
gonna transfer to you undercarriage.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
There could be some streaks in there. We don't know
what's going on. I have to wash my hot streak.

Speaker 18 (30:05):
You know what.

Speaker 3 (30:05):
Women can't do stuff like that because I feel like
men wa wear the same pair of jeans for like
two weeks straight, like y'all be they are wild yea.

Speaker 4 (30:13):
For women, we can't do that because now.

Speaker 5 (30:16):
The way my vagina is set up, you used to
be washed on a daily basis.

Speaker 3 (30:20):
You should watch your vagina, and my clothes need to
be I can't. Yeah, we can't even turn our underwear
inside out.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
No no, no, no, that's that's nasty.

Speaker 1 (30:28):
All right.

Speaker 3 (30:29):
Now, Cameron and Mace, we're talking on there it is
what it is podcast. Well, they were on a million
dollars worth of game, right, you know, they had the
podcast together and they talked about duel Santana and how
he could have potentially been the next Hove.

Speaker 2 (30:44):
Juels could have really been like whole level not real talk.

Speaker 6 (30:48):
He had it any out of it at a young age.
He like he could have been the leader everything that's
going on outside right now to be And I'm gonna
be totally honest with you. To me, Juelle's I want
to say poor work ethic, but I'm just not sure
why Whell was is sitting there with three hundred songs
in his hard drive and won't put it up.

Speaker 2 (31:05):
Oh so you are saying pool of work ethic he felt?
Is that what he was saying?

Speaker 4 (31:10):
Basically, No, he works, but he just doesn't put it out.

Speaker 5 (31:13):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (31:13):
So if you have three hundred songs, you're working, but
for whatever reason you're not wanting to put those.

Speaker 13 (31:17):
It's an execution, that's the problem. Yeah, that's that's that's
why they say work ethic. Right, he working, but he
ain't got no ethics behind the work.

Speaker 4 (31:25):
Okay, you can tell you that way.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
That's bad.

Speaker 5 (31:27):
When I heard that go ahead.

Speaker 3 (31:28):
In addition, Cameron said he had to kind of force
you us to do some of those big hits, all
them songs that.

Speaker 6 (31:33):
You hear the Beggars was forced gainst the music saying
Tennis Town all the hot hey maar was when we
were about to walk out to the club we got
Cribbage Chicago, and he'd be like, come on, I'm like
ditch to sixteen.

Speaker 2 (31:47):
He'll be like, I said, we'll bring your back. You're
not coming out until you finish the song. You're not
coming okay.

Speaker 5 (31:55):
And Joelle's defense, he was young though.

Speaker 13 (31:58):
Right he was.

Speaker 3 (31:59):
Remember he was supposed to do the mixtape with Lil Wayne. Yeah,
and that was a big deal.

Speaker 4 (32:04):
Everybody's like, what happened to that? That could have been
a huge situation.

Speaker 2 (32:07):
He seemed like he's just an artist. He's a creative.

Speaker 13 (32:09):
He's not worried about fame and fortune. But unfortunately, if
he's creative like that and he got the goals like that,
we want to hear it.

Speaker 4 (32:17):
Yeah, yeah, I agree, all right now.

Speaker 3 (32:19):
Kim Kardashian is on the cover of GQ's twenty eighth
annual Men of the Year issue. Yes, but she talked
about her father, Robert Kardashian, and the impact that he
had on her life, and she talked about dealing with
her divorce from Kanye West, also instilling a work ethic
in her kids, and a whole lot more.

Speaker 4 (32:39):
But she is on the cover. Yes, Man of the Year, Okay,
good for her.

Speaker 3 (32:43):
She said she wants to protect her kids and try
to have them be as normal as possible, where they
can ride their bikes to their cousins' houses, even though
she understands it's not a normal life. We're never going
to have a normal family life no matter what. She
wants to protect them. And as far as divorce and
Kanye and how she handles her kids questions, she said,
ultimately what matters is that the kids feel loved and
heard by the way, all right, all right, well that

(33:06):
is your yeete And when we come back, Yeah, Anika's here,
and I want to make sure y'all know about ya
Monika Sanders exactly who she is, some of her accolades, because.

Speaker 4 (33:14):
She is hilarious and you're gonna love her as much
as I do. It's way up with Angela.

Speaker 3 (33:17):
Yea, all right, it is way up with Angela.

Speaker 4 (33:23):
Ye I'm Angela.

Speaker 18 (33:23):
Ye.

Speaker 3 (33:23):
Jasmine brand is here, yes, yeah, Anika is here all
right now, ya, Minika, I want people to know exactly
who you are. I mean a lot of people know
you already from your comedy. By the way, I just
want to point out as we're talking about the Super Bowl,
remember we were saying how those ads sold out super quick.

Speaker 4 (33:38):
Yeah, you actually had to add in the Super Bowl.

Speaker 13 (33:44):
Yeah, Planet's Peanut. They did a roast of mister Peanut
and I got to do it. Shout out to my
amazing friend Jeff Ross, who any spaces he is.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
He is a roastmaster general and he put me in
on that and I had an amazing time. It was
just great.

Speaker 13 (34:01):
And all the comedians that were there, yeah, it was
you know, they really wanted to do something that was
outside of the box, you know, and we roast really hard,
so it you know, there was I was proud of
what they put out and how they also let us
have freedom but also was able to sort of edit
around like our boldness, you know, because roasting, you know,

(34:23):
it's no holes bar.

Speaker 4 (34:24):
Yeah, it's hard.

Speaker 3 (34:25):
And I want to point out that even though Yaminika
is close to her curse limit on the show.

Speaker 4 (34:30):
And we had.

Speaker 2 (34:32):
I didn't know there was a I'm sorry, she has
had a.

Speaker 4 (34:35):
Lot of television experience. She told us. I did Meredith
Vieira That's how she wants to reassure us that she can.

Speaker 2 (34:41):
I can. I've been talking here, I can. You can
tell me I can.

Speaker 1 (34:44):
I can.

Speaker 3 (34:45):
But Last Comic Standing, you know, you had some breakthrough
moments on Last Comic Standing.

Speaker 4 (34:49):
That was back in twenty That was almost ten years ago.

Speaker 2 (34:52):
Yeah, we did the reboot of it that it had
taken a break in and it came back in season eight.

Speaker 13 (34:57):
I think it was like a four year hiatus. And
I have to really give a lot of love to
Wanda Sykes. You know, Wanda Sykes was really instrumental and
wanting to not just have comics be thrown up, but
she wanted to know who the comics were that nobody
had seen. So it wasn't like that open call audition.

(35:19):
It was like more word of mouth. And I have
to give a lot of credit to the people who
told her about me and to have me on there.
It was an amazing time and I got to meet
some really amazing people. I got to develop a friendship
with Eira Roders, Yeah, and she was there. I got
to meet Zaynab Johnson, who I a door and she

(35:41):
has a special out right now you can watch on
Prime Call. His jobs off and it was a really
great experience to be in comedy is a male dominated
business and to have like Wanda behind it.

Speaker 4 (35:55):
And I love her Showtime Stand Up Special by the way, right,
it was Yeah, she.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
Is, She's incredible, and she is smart.

Speaker 3 (36:03):
She is and so as Yama. That's why I really
appreciate you. I appreciate you saying and you know, she's
had a lot of guest appearances. First of all the
Tonight show that was you know, and.

Speaker 2 (36:15):
I have to like for me, that was such.

Speaker 13 (36:20):
An experience because it was like I was doing the
monologue you know, with him, and to come into that
and have that opportunity. I've had a lot of opportunities
that in my life I would have never thought that
I would have them. But thank God that I have
a lot of people in the business of comedy who
because of I think. I'm not saying I'm the best

(36:42):
person in the world, but I definitely know how to
bring comedy and have fun.

Speaker 2 (36:47):
I think people are often okay with referring me to
do things like that.

Speaker 4 (36:52):
You know who else I saw you with recently?

Speaker 3 (36:54):
You at the Beyonce Renaissance tour I did with Sherry Shepherd, Lord.

Speaker 5 (37:00):
So that was the New York was at the New
York Shire.

Speaker 13 (37:01):
I guess no, we had to go to Saint Louis.
Let me tell you about Beyonce. Beyonce is so expensive.
It was more expensive to see Beyonce and just take
the train to see her in Brooklyn than it was
to get a flight, a hotel and everything.

Speaker 2 (37:13):
We'll see her in Saint Louis.

Speaker 13 (37:15):
But I'm glad that we saw her at Saint Louis
because Beyonce is Beyonce.

Speaker 4 (37:22):
Yeah, that's Beyonce.

Speaker 3 (37:23):
Listen, We're gonna have more with Yaminika so you can
learn more about her. But in the meantime, ask Yee
is coming up. That's where we give you, guys advice.
Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty is a number,
but I wanted to y'all to know who Yaminika is. Like,
I got to bring up this too many accolades to
even discuss right here.

Speaker 4 (37:38):
We need hours.

Speaker 3 (37:39):
But eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty. Ask
Yee is coming up next.

Speaker 7 (37:43):
But this relationship with Korea advice, Angela's dropping facts.

Speaker 4 (37:47):
This is as Gee, what's up?

Speaker 3 (37:49):
Its way up with Angela Yee I'm Angela yee and
Jasmine brand is here, Yaminika is here, and in preparation
for the holidays, DJ Will came and brought us some
amazing food from Will and Daughters and so so good.

Speaker 4 (38:01):
We do have mel on the line. What's that now, hi?
And how are you? I'm good.

Speaker 3 (38:06):
We're ready for your asking. Yea, yea, Monika's hair Jasmine's
hair today.

Speaker 11 (38:11):
So I have a problem. So next week's Thanksgiving and
I'm going to my boyfriend's family's house for the first time.
I love to eat Thanksgiving food, but I have insane
ibs and I don't know how I'm gonna hide and
run to the bathroom. But also I don't want to
be rude and not eat, and I really want to
eat because I love Thanksgiving food. So what's your advice

(38:31):
on what to do? And my boyfriend also doesn't know
that I have ibs.

Speaker 2 (38:34):
Oh, well, how do you not know how long you
have been together?

Speaker 11 (38:37):
Months?

Speaker 2 (38:38):
He doesn't.

Speaker 13 (38:39):
Yeah, well, do whatever you've been doing to him to
let him not know to the family, or I'm gonna
be honest with you me. I would just be upfront.
I'm up front of all my stuff. Listen, I got pcos.
You know what I'm saying, I'm pre diabetic. People understand
honesty upfront. Hey, I got ibs. I'm gonna have a
little bit of this food, but I don't want to
keep going to the bathroom. So I'm like, you know
what time it is?

Speaker 4 (38:58):
Well, let me ask you.

Speaker 3 (38:59):
This, Okay, are there certain things that make it flare up?
Or is there medication that you can take ahead of time?

Speaker 11 (39:05):
I have medication that I can take, but I don't know.
It happened at random times I have to use the
bathroom and unfortunately it's very smelly, so I can't really.

Speaker 5 (39:16):
Okay, that's what you need to do.

Speaker 3 (39:18):
I would give my boyfriend a heads up because maybe
there's like a remote bathroom that you can use and
he can help kind of like navigate you through that.

Speaker 4 (39:26):
But you are going to have to let him know.

Speaker 1 (39:28):
Now.

Speaker 3 (39:28):
I don't know if I have to tell the whole family.
Maybe you can do that aside for me if it
becomes necessary, but just give him a heads up, take
your medication, bring some matches with you so that when
you go into.

Speaker 2 (39:42):
What you got to do, that pop right, so you can.

Speaker 4 (39:44):
Do those What do you do?

Speaker 2 (39:45):
What do you do with matches, just like you light
it and it gets rid of the smell. That's how
I know you young.

Speaker 3 (39:50):
Yeah, when you go in the bathroom and you poop,
first of all, due to courtesy, flush as soon as
it hits the flush it right every time, and then
you light them match blow it out and that'll cover
the smell.

Speaker 5 (40:02):
Or also she can bring her she can get to
bring a little.

Speaker 13 (40:06):
I'm telling you, my I'm going against all of that.
I'm telling you go in there and tell them people
you got I b S. And that cuts out a
lot of the paperwork.

Speaker 2 (40:14):
Now you do.

Speaker 11 (40:15):
Also, I'm meeting I'm meeting the family for the first time,
so I'm gonna be like, Hi, my name is mel.
I have IBS.

Speaker 2 (40:20):
No, absolutely no, don't listen to them.

Speaker 13 (40:23):
Honesty is the best policy, I'm telling you, and just
say listen, this food smells great. Unfortunately I have i
BS and I don't want to be going back and
forth like that. You know what I'm saying with you,
and she can listen. I used to be somebody who
was really shy about saying certain things, and then what
I realize is I put myself in more hassle trying
to hide my truth than just letting people know upfront

(40:43):
what it is and they'll have compassion for it. And
that's the way for you to test them. If they
don't have compassion for you, telling them you have I
B S. You know, that's the family. You don't need
to be bothered with what she.

Speaker 5 (40:53):
Could tell her boyfriend.

Speaker 1 (40:53):
She can.

Speaker 4 (40:54):
I'm start with telling him, tell your man take medicine.

Speaker 11 (40:58):
Yeah, I'll tell my boyfriend tonight and then we'll take it.

Speaker 4 (41:01):
And he'll probably think it's cute and funny.

Speaker 2 (41:03):
He will not think it's cute and funny, but you
need to tell him listen, you know, yeah.

Speaker 4 (41:07):
And he might already know.

Speaker 3 (41:08):
Man, all those times you think you was sneaking into
the bathroom and he has no idea he knows.

Speaker 2 (41:13):
And maybe to pends on right the pens supposed to
be holding up everything.

Speaker 5 (41:17):
Can you imagine pooping on yourself?

Speaker 19 (41:19):
Thanksgiving work?

Speaker 3 (41:23):
I think do all of that depends poopery the match,
tell your boyfriend and tell a family, and if that
don't work, make sure you got your profile up.

Speaker 2 (41:31):
On hinge.

Speaker 5 (41:34):
And just don't eat everything. Just get get a little sample,
don't go don't go crazy, don't go crazy, and bring
up like home, and then you can eat at home his.

Speaker 2 (41:41):
Family white or black girl. That's an easy excuse. You'll
be fine.

Speaker 13 (41:46):
Just say I don't eat anything with raisins in it
because white people put a lot of rais.

Speaker 4 (41:51):
So much for calling us and good, make you right,
Please follow me. I want to know what happened. Okay,
some wet wipes?

Speaker 2 (42:01):
All right?

Speaker 3 (42:01):
Well that was asking eight hundred two nine fifty fifty
in case you couldn't get through. As everybody's getting ready
for the holidays, there's gonna be a lot of issues
with ibs, all right.

Speaker 4 (42:10):
When we come back.

Speaker 3 (42:11):
We have the young phenom Kyomi mcmiller is going to
be joining us, the youngest ever athlete to get an
nil deal from Jordan brand.

Speaker 2 (42:19):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (42:19):
It's way up at Angela yee.

Speaker 7 (42:21):
Turn the volume up, y'all be way up with Angela ye.

Speaker 2 (42:23):
Break them, break them down more.

Speaker 4 (42:26):
Now what's up?

Speaker 3 (42:29):
Its way up at Angela yee. And this is really
way up right. We had Kyomi mcmiller here.

Speaker 4 (42:34):
How are you?

Speaker 1 (42:34):
I'm good?

Speaker 6 (42:35):
Are you?

Speaker 16 (42:35):
I'm good?

Speaker 3 (42:36):
And by the way, one of the biggest high school
basketball players.

Speaker 4 (42:42):
So how are you feeling today?

Speaker 19 (42:43):
Feeling good? I'm ready for the interview. I'm ready.

Speaker 4 (42:47):
You're not nervous, are you?

Speaker 15 (42:48):
No?

Speaker 19 (42:48):
I can't preparing before I got here.

Speaker 4 (42:50):
How do you prepare for this? I'm just curious.

Speaker 19 (42:53):
I was looking over the notes I had, and I
was just like going over them in my head.

Speaker 4 (42:58):
You're just like me. That's what I do. I over
prepare for everything. You didn't look at lip service?

Speaker 15 (43:03):
Right?

Speaker 19 (43:04):
Never mind?

Speaker 4 (43:07):
And your parents are here with you.

Speaker 3 (43:09):
So both your parents were coaches, are still are you?
Guys are still coaches?

Speaker 2 (43:13):
Now?

Speaker 4 (43:13):
Who's the better coach?

Speaker 1 (43:15):
The better?

Speaker 2 (43:15):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (43:16):
They're just pretending not here.

Speaker 19 (43:18):
They're road pretty good.

Speaker 3 (43:21):
Say I like that you're very good at your media training.
But do they have different styles when it comes to
working you out?

Speaker 1 (43:28):
Yeah? Yeah.

Speaker 19 (43:28):
My dad's way more hard than my mom is.

Speaker 3 (43:31):
You know, sometimes people feel like and people are very
divided on this because we've seen video of coaches who
can be very harsh. Aside from your parents, when you're
on the court, what works for you, because sometimes people
are like, you shouldn't talk to them like that, X, Y,
and Z. And we've also heard stories of people like,
all right, these you know kids are younger and we're
making them be too competitive. Sometimes people feel like on

(43:51):
the flip side, that we're too soft on some of
these student athletes.

Speaker 4 (43:55):
What are your thoughts?

Speaker 15 (43:56):
I think with my dad coached me how he has,
I'm like prepared, friend, Like, I know, no one else
is going to coach me as hard as he has,
and even if they try to, I'll be prepared for it.

Speaker 19 (44:07):
It won't phaze me.

Speaker 15 (44:08):
Like people that go and like play for a certain
coach are on the court, like I think it's funny,
like you're getting yoed at and you start crying like
they didn't even say anything. I'm like looking like, yeah,
I'm not looking like what they're just telling you what
to do. But allad that Maryland come.

Speaker 4 (44:25):
Out right now. I'm talking to keyo me mc miller.

Speaker 3 (44:33):
She is the youngest ever athlete to get an NIL
deal from Jordan Brand. Now let's talk about your nil
deal that you have with Jordan's. Okay, that's a huge accomplishment.
So tell me where you were when you got that
information that you were about to be signing this deal.

Speaker 15 (44:48):
I was actually I was at home on the count.
No one was just at home chilling and I had
saw like the DM come up. I just show my dad.

Speaker 19 (44:58):
I really didn't.

Speaker 15 (44:59):
I didn't think is it DM okay, but I really
didn't think it was real. So I showed them and
they like investigated on it and they're like, it's like
the real thing.

Speaker 2 (45:08):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (45:09):
That must have felt amazing.

Speaker 3 (45:10):
Yeah, it was, you know for the Jordan brand because
you were you were the youngest right athlete to the
first youngest athlete to sign an NIL deal with the
Jordan brand.

Speaker 19 (45:18):
Yeah, I'm the first high school athlete to do.

Speaker 4 (45:20):
It, right, male or female. Huge, let's put some respect
on that. And how has life changed for you since
signing this Dale?

Speaker 19 (45:29):
It's changed a little bit.

Speaker 15 (45:30):
Like I go to like tournaments and stuff, and like
little girls are coming up and saying hi to me
and stuff and like wanting pictures. So that's that was
one of the big things that's changed, because I.

Speaker 3 (45:39):
Can imagine some people seeing you and being like, Okay,
I'm taking There's a lot of you know, people that
play sports in school, but they might take it more
seriously now seeing somebody like you.

Speaker 2 (45:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 15 (45:49):
So at my school, we go K through twelve, so
it's like some of the little kids they like really
look up to me, Like the little girls that play
on the middle school team in my school, they really
are paying attention to what I'm doing, and like they're
looking up to me and looking for someone like to
teach them certain things. So that's like really important because

(46:09):
they see me as a role model, and I think
like the things that I do like impacts with how
they think or what they do.

Speaker 4 (46:16):
Do you know where you want to go to school yet?

Speaker 19 (46:18):
Not yet?

Speaker 15 (46:18):
No, I'm still trying to narrow down my list. I've
been on five official visits out of my seven.

Speaker 4 (46:25):
So who are some people that have reached out to
you that's been exciting for you.

Speaker 19 (46:28):
I'll say one person that I met in person with
Kevin Durant, he knew.

Speaker 1 (46:31):
Who I was.

Speaker 2 (46:32):
I was like, oh my gosh.

Speaker 3 (46:35):
But I'm definitely I'm paying attention to you and looking
to see where you're gonna end up. Thank you so
much for coming through, and we're gonna keep on following
up at you and I cannot wait to see where
you decide to go to school, and I know that
school can't wait to find out either.

Speaker 4 (46:48):
Does anybody have an edge?

Speaker 19 (46:49):
They don't know? They probably do, they don't know yet though.

Speaker 4 (46:53):
All Right, Well, thank you so much for coming through.
It's way up at the angela ye. And when we
come back. Yeah, Monika Saunders is here.

Speaker 3 (46:59):
We're gonna talk some more to her because I feel
like she deserved like a ten hour break, but we
got we got a little more time for you, Yaminika.

Speaker 4 (47:05):
It's way yup put Angela ye.

Speaker 2 (47:07):
That's her in the volume.

Speaker 7 (47:08):
Most y'all be way up with Angela ye.

Speaker 2 (47:10):
Break them, break them down.

Speaker 3 (47:11):
More now, all right, it's way yea put Angela yee.
I'm Angela yee. Jasmine brand is here, uh huh. Yeah,
Manika Sondez is here for the first time.

Speaker 2 (47:22):
Yes, all right.

Speaker 3 (47:23):
And we were talking earlier about all of your accomplishments,
how you got to where you are today. And I
also want to congratulate you Amy Schumer's life and Beth
has gotten a season two release date on Hulu and
you're her best friends.

Speaker 4 (47:36):
Yes, Anna, you're a good best friend too.

Speaker 2 (47:38):
I love the position, you know. I appreciate everything that
Amy did for me. I appreciate all the projects that
I'm on.

Speaker 13 (47:46):
A lot of the projects that I've been on is
because of other comedians who really value me. Shout out
to Michael Cha who also had me on his show
and also on the writing team. Whenever I have other
people who are in the business who are profound and
who they are and what they do, I'm always appreciative
that they appreciate the work that.

Speaker 2 (48:06):
I can add to them.

Speaker 5 (48:07):
What's the best part about working with Amy.

Speaker 13 (48:11):
For me is that she appreciates comedians being who they are.
You know, sometimes you can work with people and they're
concerned about people overstepping them in the scene or doing
too much, and she really just likes everybody to be
who they are, and I appreciate that she gives me
the bandwidth to be myself and scenes.

Speaker 3 (48:30):
So it's great and a lot of other comedians do
love you so much. You also have a new special
that you did, right.

Speaker 13 (48:38):
Yeah, well, I worked on an hour. I'm trying to
sell it. Listen if somebody wants to buy it. It
was I want to say a special shout out to
David Allen Greer. I know I shouldn't put people's businesses
out there, but I really appreciate that he came to
see it. I am a fan of his and the
work that he has done, not only in the form
of comedy, but you know, being a comedic actor and improv.

(49:00):
It was just it was really great to have him there.
It's a more personal set. I'm really excited about it,
and I think it's only a set that I would
be able to do with my forties. You know, comedy
is one of those things where you really do need
to have life experience, right, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (49:15):
And you've had a lot of life experience. You just
celebrated a birthday too.

Speaker 2 (49:19):
Yes, I turned forty five. Yeah, yes, And I feel great,
I really do.

Speaker 4 (49:26):
You've been working out nine staff.

Speaker 13 (49:27):
I've been working out NonStop. I've been I feel like
I have a real good reign on who I am
as a person.

Speaker 5 (49:32):
Well that's a good feeling, Yeah, it is.

Speaker 13 (49:34):
And I'm very appreciative to all of the people that
are in my life. Who are you know, from Zeynab
Johnson who I adore, Leslie Jones who I adore, Sherry Sheppard.
There's just so many amazing women, Ida Rodriguez that have
inspired me to just continue to do.

Speaker 2 (49:52):
You know what I've been doing. And it's and Kelly.

Speaker 13 (49:55):
I have to say Kelly Kells because she really held
me down, her and me me Simpson when I was
in Atlanta.

Speaker 2 (50:01):
I just love being around funny women.

Speaker 3 (50:03):
Okay, yeah, well you are one of those funny women
and I love being around Yaminika. So we appreciate you
so much for taking some time out of your schedule
to come through and join us today on the way
up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 4 (50:14):
And you have committed to coming back.

Speaker 2 (50:15):
I definitely you groups are amazing, and I mean Nick too.

Speaker 13 (50:18):
I mean I know you feel like maybe you know,
but what I like is I like the vibe of
women who are powerful, who know exactly what they want
to know how to execute who they are and not
be intimidated. So you you women are so powerful, you
have so much light and to let me come in
and also share my light, I appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (50:40):
And shout out to Donell Rawlings because I know a
lot of times you work with Donelle.

Speaker 13 (50:44):
I love Donelle. He is you know, he saw me
perform at Carolines and he was like, who the hell
is this him? And forty he was like, who the
hell is this?

Speaker 18 (50:53):
Man?

Speaker 4 (50:53):
You know you can't do that, I know, but he
you know, I know. You know what I said to yourself,
I can tell.

Speaker 2 (50:59):
You yeah, I know how to when they would be
in my ear like don't you know?

Speaker 13 (51:04):
But I appreciate Darnelle for you know, at the honesty
number one that he gives and just how funny he is.

Speaker 2 (51:14):
And he really is an inspirational il his special.

Speaker 3 (51:18):
But listen when we come back and thank you y'a
Monika again because she'll be back you guys, so you're
here more, but make sure you follow her. You guys
get to have the last word. But in the meantime,
Yahmnika has been showing us how to do this dance Tyler,
and we're gonna play that now and do this dance
and y'all do it with us.

Speaker 4 (51:35):

Quick City, North Jersey, turning with my sons and all that.
You know what I'm saying, and I got you know,
I got the professional voice, and I'd like to say

my style and my education with Night Intelligence. I'd like

(52:58):

He is the youngest.
