you know we have to start to show off with
some love and some positivity.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
We have to shine a light.
Speaker 4 (00:27):
And when we come back, I want to shine a
light on an organization that actually is founded and staffed
predominantly by formally incarcerated individuals. Will tell you about the
organization and what they do when we come back. But
who do you want to shine a light on? Eight
hundred two nine to fifty one fifty call this up.
Let's shine a light. It's way up a shine.

who are doing greatness.

Kind of light on, Shine a light on. It's time
to shine a light on. What's up is whay you?
Speaker 4 (01:00):
But angela yea, And it's time to shine a light.
And today I want to shine a light on an
organization called the Hudson Link for Higher Education in Prison.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
It's a nonprofit.
Speaker 4 (01:08):
They provide college education, life skills, and re entry supports
to currently and formally incarcerated individuals to empower them so
they can make positive impact on their lives, families, and communities.
But what's really special about this organization is they're founded
and staffed predominantly by formally incarcerated individuals. They operate in
six correctional facilities across New York states, and over thirteen
(01:31):
hundred college degrees have been awarded and more than two
thousand alumni have successfully reintegrated into their community. So shout
out to Hudson Link for the work that they're doing.
And this can be proven by the numbers. We need
to make sure this is an initiative across all states.
All right, now, who do you guys want to shine
a light on? Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one
fifty Joshua, who do you want to shine a light on.
Speaker 5 (01:53):
I'd like to shine a light on my wife. Ravens
with from Jersey make ten years this year.
Speaker 4 (01:57):
Oh, ten years. Congratulations to you and Raven. What's the secret?
If you have to tell somebody, what's the secret? Sauce
to ten years?
Speaker 5 (02:05):
Communication, having a connection, destructure together, the foundation, That's what
it is be a team player.
Speaker 4 (02:13):
Let me know what you guys have planned. Maybe we'll
send you all a little something, you know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (02:16):
Yes, yes, yeah, we put it together now actually in emotion,
because there's November thirteen, we make ten years.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
First of all, I love that you are planning this
far ahead. That's amazing. Yeah already. Yeah, congrats to you
and Raven, thank you.
Speaker 5 (02:31):
Yeah, you have a blessed one you too.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
Well, that would shine a light eight hundred and two
ninety two fifty one fifty. If you couldn't get through,
you can leave a message and you can shine a
light during last word and when we come back, it's
time for your yet and today is a critical day
in this Diddy trial. Will tell you what's set to happen,
and we'll keep you updated as it's happening. It's way up,
says the rooms from industry Shade to all.
Speaker 5 (02:55):
Of gossip out Angelus feeling that EyeT.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
What's up his way Yu?
Speaker 4 (03:00):
But angela ye is time for your yet and today
in Ditty's criminal trial, there's some big things happening. They're
seeding the jury. They're very close to finalizing that. There's
about forty three jurors still to go through, and the
goal is to pick eighteen.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
That's twelve jurors and six alternates.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
They think this will be quick and easy and that's
when the trial will move on to opening statements.
Speaker 6 (03:22):
Now.
Speaker 4 (03:22):
I'm watching as things are getting underway. Ditty's family arrived
at court about an hour ago. His mother showed up
first in an suv, then the rest of the family
followed behind. Saw this update on Sky News. Other things
that are happening. Little Rod is there and I saw
people on social media posting Little Rod. If you recall,
he is one of the people who follow the civil
(03:42):
suit against Ditty and he's there for day one of
the trial. He's outside, they're taking pictures. People are saying
that Katty could be actually testifying as early as today
or perhaps later on this week. So they don't know
if after opening statements they're actually going to get to
any of this testimony, but.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
We'll see and other news.
Speaker 4 (04:01):
According to reports, Donald Trump's team has spent more than
ten million dollars having images of him with Ditty bleached
from the internet. And I don't know if that matters
at this you know, at this point in time, but
this is a big day for Ditty, So we'll see
what's happening. We'll see who is going to be on
that jury, and we'll give you an update on that
final Jerry selection throughout the show today. Another news over
(04:24):
the weekend, I'll be sure did an interview with Fox
five to promote his memoir.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
It's called Do You Believe Me?
Speaker 6 (04:29):
Now?
Speaker 4 (04:30):
As you recall, he's been the person claiming that Diddy
had something to do with his health scare. He's also
had things to say about kem Porter said in death
and he said he will testify because of it.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
And here's what he had to say on Fox five.
You have volunteered to testify at the trial? Correct?
Speaker 7 (04:45):
Not as yet.
Speaker 6 (04:46):
Actually I was subpoena, so my attorney's work something out.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
So I believe when the time is right, you know,
I'm going to discuss it with my attorneys.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
But you're willing to, oh.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
Absolutely, get ready for that.
Speaker 4 (04:56):
And I will definitely let you guys know what's in
this book. Actually reach out to see if I can
get a copy of it.
Speaker 6 (05:01):
Early.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
Yes, breaking news. A jury has been selected. See we
just talked about it in Diddy's trial. The members of
the twelve person jury will be sworn in ahead of
opening statements, will continue giving you those updates. It's way up.
When we come back, we have about last night. That's
where we discussed what we did last night is way.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
Up night night.
Speaker 6 (05:26):
So about last night? Yes, I went.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
Down what's up? Its way up at Angela ya, and
it's time for about last night. And of course we
got to talk about Mother's Day. Now. My producer Dan,
you went to go see your mom from Mother's Day
in New Jersey?
Speaker 3 (05:42):
Yes, I did. I went to go see my mom.
Speaker 4 (05:44):
She was actually working in Brooklyn and me and my
brother both went and popped up on.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
Her at work.
Speaker 7 (05:48):
That's nice, would you bring?
Speaker 4 (05:49):
I got her cupcase, gift cards, we got some things.
And then I'm also going to take her out to
dinner when I get back from LA. So she was
at work, so it was kind of difficult. And you know,
sometimes I think holidays will work for people when you're
like and then after you finished working, I want to
take you out to dinner when they just want to
go home.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
Yeah, I hear that. Why was she going to work though?
She that's what she does.
Speaker 4 (06:09):
I tried to get her to take off the last
thing I did was apparently I have these carpenter bees
in my backyard, which I had never heard of.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
You know about those I do. They're not dangerous though,
but they definitely.
Speaker 4 (06:18):
Mess and they bore holes into wood, and so I
didn't know what it was. My friend Janey is staying
with me, and she was like, oh, these are carpenter bees.
And I saw all these little neat round holes in
my per gola in the backyard. So we had to
get this spray to spray and then I'm getting it
plugged all those things home things. But just something I
learned about that I thought was interesting. Well, that is
(06:39):
about last night, and when we come back, we have
tell us a secret eight hundred two ninety two fifty
one fifty. Any secret that you have definitely want to
hear it. It's a no judgment zone. Even though people
on social media some of them get mad furious, judge
you and judge me eight hundred two nine two fifty
one fifty.
Speaker 3 (06:55):
Call us up. It's anonymous. It's a no judgment zone.
It's tell us a secret. It's way up yo. Oh yeah,
this is a judgment free zone.
Speaker 6 (07:04):
Tell us the secret.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
What's up? His way up? At the angela yee, and
it's signed for it.
Speaker 4 (07:08):
Tell us a secret eight hundred two ninety two fifty
one fifty. As we always say, it's a no judgment zone.
You are anonymous? What's up, anonymous color?
Speaker 3 (07:16):
How are you?
Speaker 5 (07:17):
I'm good?
Speaker 3 (07:18):
You want to tell me a secret and no judgment?
Speaker 8 (07:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (07:22):
Like, I'm all working at my worlds job overnight.
Speaker 6 (07:25):
My girl wanted to work.
Speaker 5 (07:26):
With me, so I wounded up letting her you prefer
by me. Now she's working at the job too, the manager.
Speaker 7 (07:32):
I don't know that she's my girl, but too.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 4 (07:36):
So you're sitting with that manager and you have your
girlfriend working your day.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
It's bold.
Speaker 5 (07:40):
Yeah, I mean it's a bold move.
Speaker 7 (07:42):
You're the only place to do that, Oh my gosh.
Speaker 4 (07:45):
But okay, so and you don't you're not scared because
your girlfriend at work has to act like y'all not together,
And of course your boss, your manager, has to act
like y'all not together either, because that would violate things
in the workplace.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
Good do you see your your manager off hours?
Speaker 5 (08:00):
Though?
Speaker 2 (08:01):
No time when me and my.
Speaker 5 (08:02):
Manager get the time that we're kindle work get home?
Speaker 3 (08:07):
Okay, all right, who do you like better? Who do
you like better if.
Speaker 5 (08:14):
I could pick my girl?
Speaker 8 (08:15):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (08:16):
It's something abouty while wooded.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
All right, well, no judgment here, Thank you for calling.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
All right, thank you, good luck creepy.
Speaker 4 (08:24):
Well that was tell us a secret eight hundred two
ninety two fifty one fifty. If you couldn't get through,
you can always leave a message, or you can listen
on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
Tap that microphone and tell us a secret.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
That way.
Speaker 4 (08:35):
When we come back, we have your yeete, and let's
talk about friendship loss. You know, Shemiah was on here
and Way Up and we talked about her relationship with Porsche. Well,
it looks like things have not gotten any better. We'll
tell you what she had to say. It looks like
she's waiting. The ball is in Porscha's court. Its way up.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
Sure, she's about to blow the lead of off this spot.
Let's get it.
Speaker 5 (08:54):
Oh yeah, angelus feeling that, yeez, come.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
And get your tea. What's up? Its way up?
Speaker 4 (09:00):
But angela, yeah, and it's time for your yet and
let's get it started with Lizzo. Now, recently she was
on with ze Way and she talked about not having
friends because fame makes everyone quote unquote weird.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
Here's what you had to say.
Speaker 6 (09:13):
I don't have any friends. I don't know if I
believe you. I used to have so many friends, did you?
And what happened? You get famous and then it gets weird.
It makes it weird. You are them. Everyone makes it
weird for famous people. I'm still a normal person. This
is fame. You're still you and everything around you changes.
Speaker 4 (09:31):
It is hard because if you love what you do,
fame kind of comes with that when you become successful.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
So it's to be careful what you wish for type
of thing. And speaking of.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
Which, Shemiah, as you know, has joined Real Housewives of
Atlanta this season. She's been a friend previously and now
she's finally on the cash. She has a peach and
it looks like their rift in her friendship a portion
Williams has grown even more and more. A lot of
people have noticed it, even from the first episode. If
you recall, I brought that up with Shemiah when she
(10:01):
was up here and way up with angela ye, right
when the season started.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
I can only focus on me.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
I try to be the best friend that I can
be to my friends and hope that it's reciprocated, and
when it's not, there's only so much I can do
about that. I could just want to continue to show
up and be the person that I know how to be,
how my parents raised me.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
Well, Shamiah was on Watch What Happens Live, and here's
what you told Andy Cohen about her relationship with Portia.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
I'm done at this point. It's mercy like grace has
already been extended. I want some things to be reciprocated
to me, Okay, I want some of that same loyalty
because I didn't know that we were beefing. Even I
didn't know that she didn't come to my wedding because
we were apparently beefing.
Speaker 4 (10:38):
Well, one thing I will tell you, being on television
it changes things sometimes. It's also as people are getting
more success, that changes the dynamics of a relationship as well.
So hopefully they can mend things though, because they've been
friends a really long time. And lastly, of Real Housewives
of Atlanta Kenya Moore, they were saying that her hair
spot was closed. Somebody had put out last week that
(11:00):
things were shut down. It wasn't working out. The USM
posted a video saying there were no clients. There were nobody.
There was nobody working there. Well, the hairspot is still
going strong, per the styles the booking page. The spot
is open Thursdays and Fridays and Saturdays and you can
still go ahead and make an appointment.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
So yes, it's still open.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
That's where that infamous scene happened, which is why Kenya
is not on the show at this point in time.
All right, well that is your Yet when we come back,
we have under the radar. These are the stories that
are not necessarily in the headlines. But I feel like
today we kind of got to do some headline stuff
because it's important.
Speaker 3 (11:37):
It's way up the news.
Speaker 5 (11:39):
News, This in the news that relates to you.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
These stories are flying under the radar.
Speaker 4 (11:44):
What's up this way up at Angela Yee and it's
time for your under the radar stories. But today these
are above the radar because it's important that we keep
up with what's going on. So the United States and
China agreed today to a ninety day truce in the
trade war. So that's just for ninety days. Let's be clear,
they're going to slash reciprocal terrifs by over one hundred
percentage points. So China's rate is down to just ten percent,
(12:06):
and the US will drop that tariffrate of one hundred
and forty five percent down to thirty percent. Now, while
all this is happening here, Donald Trump is planning to
receive a four hundred million dollar flying palace from Qatar.
He wants to use that as Air Force One, but
not just while he's in office. He is going to
be able to keep this gift when he's no longer
(12:27):
in office, he wrote on social media.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
When he got some backlash.
Speaker 4 (12:31):
So the fact that the Defense Department is getting a
gift free of charge of a seven forty seven aircraft
to replace the forty year old Air Force One temporarily
in a very public and transparent transaction, so bothers the
crooked Democrats that they insist we pay top dollar for
the plane.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
He said, anybody can do that. The Dems are world
class losers. MAGA. The problem is this.
Speaker 4 (12:53):
In nineteen sixty six, Congress had a rule that prevents
the president from accepting gifts worth more than a certain
amount from foreign gums governments. As of twenty fourteen, that
amount is three hundred and seventy five dollars. Any gift
worth more than that goes to the National Archives. Now,
the only way you can keep that gift that's more
than three hundred and seventy five dollars is if you
pay the market price for it, and that is rarely done.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
Hillary Clinton did that.
Speaker 4 (13:17):
She paid nine hundred and seventy dollars for a black
pearl necklace that was gifted to her. So Donald Trump, however,
has been doing anything that he wants. The other red
flag that this raises is that people can see that
you can actually buy favor with the president. This is
all important because the Trump organization lasts a month struck
its first luxury real estate deal in Qatar, and they
(13:38):
release details of a billion dollars skyscraper in Dubai. So
they have a lot of things that they're doing, golf courses,
so on and so forth. So it kind of feels
like the largest bribery ever in the US government with
the president. So we'll see what happens to that if
he's even allowed to do this and then keep this
plane when he leaves office. But it definitely feels like
(13:59):
something that is illegal as far as what the constitution
says and what has been the law forever. All Right, well,
that is your under the radar. We do have the
way up mixed for you guys at the top of
the hour plus. We have asked yee on the way
and we'll keep you updated on what's going on with
Ditty's jury selection.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
It's way up. She's like to talk like.
Speaker 6 (14:17):
They Angela Jean, like they Angela Jean Man.
Speaker 5 (14:21):
She's spilling it all.
Speaker 3 (14:22):
This is yet well, what's up?
Speaker 4 (14:27):
Its way up at Angela yee and it's time for
your yee t now. As you know, opening statements have
started today for Ditty's trial.
Speaker 3 (14:34):
They have picked the jury.
Speaker 4 (14:36):
One thing that I saw Megan Qniff post was some
paperwork prosecutors are saying that they have text messages that
will corroborate their testimony about Cassie being a victim. Ditty's
defense was about trying to discredit the women who testify
against them, saying they were willing participants in these freak offs.
But according to this paperwork, they're saying the text is
(14:58):
highly relevant because it corroborates victim ones expected testimony and
provides direct evidence that the defendant used violence to force
and coerce victim one to engage in freak offs.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
That connection between the defendants.
Speaker 4 (15:11):
Use of force and the commercial sex is powerful proof
of the sex trafficking charge and rebuts the defendant's argument
that the sex and the violence between the defendant and
the victim were totally separate and motivated by totally different things.
And so this is important just to kind of go
on with everything else that he's being charged with in
this trial. We will continue to keep you updated because
(15:32):
you know this is major. And lastly, little Wayne looks
like his now ex Denise is upset that he broke
up with her on Mother's Day.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
Here's what she had to say on social media.
Speaker 8 (15:44):
Wayne literally kicked me and my daughter out on Mother's
Day today. And I am just recovering from surgery.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
I am five weeks out from a full moment maker.
I can't even live boxes.
Speaker 8 (15:55):
But this man has his assistance and people coming to
help kick us out today. If y'all got lawyer recommendations,
please send them.
Speaker 4 (16:03):
I do want to point out though, that people break
up a lot around the holidays. It's definitely the time
that that happens. And she had her daughter with her
in the video too. I think, you know, maybe you
want to keep the kids out of situations like that.
But in addition to that, here's what she had to say.
It looks like she's saying that he actually got physical
with her, and she did know about other.
Speaker 3 (16:23):
Instances of him being abusive too. Here's what she said.
Speaker 8 (16:27):
And it's not just the emotional abuse, like this man
has actually laid a hand on me like I know
other women he's put.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
His hands on.
Speaker 3 (16:34):
Well, we'll see what happens, because I don't know.
Speaker 4 (16:37):
I mean, this is the first time I've seen her
do something like this, but I don't think it's being
received well from what I've read on the blogs and
in all of the comments.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
All Right, we'll keep you updated.
Speaker 4 (16:48):
That is your yet, and when we come back, ask
ye eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty any
question you have.
Speaker 3 (16:54):
We're here to help you out. It's way up everybody
since whether.
Speaker 5 (16:58):
It's relationship for Koreas, Angela's dropping facts, what's.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
Up his way?
Speaker 4 (17:05):
But Angela yee. I'm Angela ye, and it's time for
asking yee. This is where you guys call in and
I give you some advice. And today we have a
caller from our voicemail.
Speaker 3 (17:13):
Listen to this.
Speaker 7 (17:14):
I have been dating this guy for two years. About
two weeks ago, I found out that he was cheating
on me.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
He pocketled me while.
Speaker 7 (17:22):
He was with someone else, and I heard the actual
act on my voicemail.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
I have ended the.
Speaker 7 (17:28):
Relationship, but I'm still so madly in love with this man,
and it's tearing me apart, and I just don't know
what to do.
Speaker 3 (17:36):
I have to be honest, the very same thing happened
to me.
Speaker 4 (17:39):
I didn't hear them having sex, but my ex boyfriend
pocket doled me and I heard.
Speaker 3 (17:43):
Him with another woman.
Speaker 4 (17:45):
I did give him another chance after that, even though
I knew that he was lying and cheating, and guess what,
he did it again and again and again.
Speaker 6 (17:54):
Now.
Speaker 4 (17:54):
I think ripping that band aid off and actually breaking
up with somebody is a great first step. But you
have to be paid with yourself and know that of
course you still love this person. Of course you're upset,
of course you're hurt. Of course you want him back.
Those are all normal things. You can't turn your feelings off.
But you also have to know every day is going
to get better. And so I just want to say
(18:15):
to you that unless he shows some tremendous effort in
trying to repair things and show you how he can
fix and change things, which I think shouldn't be anything
that he should easily be able to come to you
and say, you know, you have to stay away from him,
because otherwise he'll think that he can just keep on
doing what he's doing because you're not going to leave
him anyway. I would say, you need to lean into
(18:37):
the fact that you're hurt, and that's fine. You need
to make sure that you keep yourself occupied. I gave
myself a rule when I was with my friends. I
was like, do not let me continue to talk about
him all the time. Let's talk about other things. That
was the only way that I was going to be
able to move on and get over it, and it
did help me tremendously. So I am wishing you all
the best, and every day is going to be hard,
(18:59):
and that's and who knows what the future of my
whole because one thing I also learned is that later
on down the line, when you find the right person.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
None of that from the past matters anymore.
Speaker 4 (19:10):
So the only way you'll find the right person is
to cut up all that negativity and block out all
of the things that you don't need and he sounds
like something you don't need in your life.
Speaker 3 (19:19):
All right? Well that was ask ye eight hundred two
ninety two fifty one fifty.
Speaker 4 (19:23):
And if you have a question and you want to
be anonymous, you can always hit me up in my
DM y'all know, I keep your secrets. But of course
you can also leave a message, and you can click
that microphone on the app and you can leave a
message that way, and you can also leave a message
for last word. And once again, Happy Monday. This is
how we start the week off right with a positive attitude.
It's way up.
Speaker 5 (19:42):
Take up the phone, tap tappying to get your voice heard.
What the word bit?
Speaker 3 (19:48):
He is the last word on Way Up with angela Ye?
What's up?
Speaker 5 (19:51):
His?
Speaker 4 (19:51):
Way up with angela Ye? And again Happy Monday. Hopefully
you guys are making the most of the day today.
I am actually heading out to LA I have to
sign it, so I guess it's a secret mission. I'll
be able to talk about it tomorrow though. As usual,
we are keeping you updated on what's going on with
