whose dreams have been coming true would be Angela. As
of late, he recently DJed for Gil King's birthday party. Wow,
got a little bonus from Oprah Wow that she personally

(01:58):
slid to him. And now he has joined the Union
DJ's DJ Squad. Shout out to DJ Nick Navy Seal. Yes,
now they did spell his name wrong on the announcement,
you know, yeah, but you know it's it's he has
an extra at the end of sealk. But I love
to see people grinding. Get into it. You know, price
going up? You know what it is not for us though,

(02:19):
if we need any favors, we still got the old price.
But he also runs the boards on your show, and
we allow him to call himself a producer, and now
he is a Union DJ Angela. Congratulations, Navy Nick Navy seal. Congratulations.

Speaker 6 (02:43):

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Who you want to shine a light on?

Speaker 7 (02:46):
I want to stinn a light on two black brothers

Speaker 7 (02:53):
The first one is he goes by the name Malik Dufree.
He has a store out in Soho. The illis glasses
you will ever put on your face. And then another
one is my guy Touch Money Clothing. He just designed
the most ls dressed for my girl for Christmas. Like
he does everything all you have. He's like your fairy godmother.
Tell him what you want, hes gonna make it happen,
all right, in full thank and like I said, sate

Speaker 2 (03:21):
And I thank you why you said? He's like you're

Speaker 7 (03:26):
I'm comfortable with who I am.

Speaker 2 (03:29):

Speaker 7 (03:36):
Thank you any time?

Speaker 2 (03:38):
All right? Well that was Shine a Light eight hundred
and two ninet two fifty one to fifty. If you
couldn't get through, you could leave a message and shine
a lighte last word. And when we come back, we
have your eet And since we're in the a, let's
set it off a little baby. He was on a
Safe Place podcast and we'll tell you what he had
to say about his new ventures that he's launching. But ooh,
he's got a lot to say. I feel like he
hasn't done a lot of interviews lately. Yeah, right this

(04:00):
way up.

Speaker 5 (04:01):
The rooms from industry shade to all of gossip out
Angela's feeling that.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
All right, it's way up with Angela. Ye, I'm here.
Jasmine Brand is here with me in Atlanta on my
own brand, and like we said, since we're in Atlanta,
let's kick it off with some little baby news now.
He was recently on a Safe Place podcast with his
guy Lil Yachti, and he talked about a lot of
different things. For an example, he talked about planning on
dropping two albums in twenty twenty five. He's gonna put

(04:31):
out Wham and Dominique. Wham is coming out. I believe
January third, my birthday.

Speaker 8 (04:35):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
He also talked about ending four PF and starting Glass
Window Entertainment.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
Wait, what does four PF stand for?

Speaker 2 (04:44):
That's four pockets full?

Speaker 3 (04:45):
Okay? All right.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
And another thing that he talked about was the fact
that he does not work with snitches.

Speaker 9 (04:51):
Here's what he said, right, Well, you don't say, oh man,
even though you did that, I can still ride with.

Speaker 10 (04:57):
You, because it boils down to what we rapping about.
We can't rap about that. And you did that. You
know what I'm saying. And I was making Christmas music.
I'm gonna give it that. What you did talking about
what we're talking about doing what we're doing, hey now, right,
difference even on that, like only we speak on m.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
Okay, all right.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
He said he would never out an artist for being
a snitch, but he also says that lyrics have gotten
certain artists in trouble, and so you should not brag
about the crimes you've committed in songs and that kind
of messes things up.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
Agreed. I mean we see that happening here, all right.

Speaker 6 (05:30):
Now.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Another thing that he discussed was the fact that he
was at Young Thug's house before Young Thug got locked
up two hours before. Here's what he said, I could.

Speaker 10 (05:38):
Have been with him now, I was at his house
the same day. Thank god.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
I just have somethings early. That's crazy.

Speaker 10 (05:44):
They don't get hit up more than anything like THEMN.
I gotta see bro go through that like them really
could have been me, got to change their whole life.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
Around and the and even more.

Speaker 10 (05:54):
Let's just son, you're extremely close to you get what
I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Right, I mean that has to be scary. You know,
you just left and then probably everybody's blowing your phone up, right,
and you were there too. Yeah, guess what just happened,
and you like, and they probably knew he was there,
because let's be clear, before they come there, I'm sure
they were checking to see.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
Following you for a minute, what was going down. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
He also talked about not wanting his children online, even
though their moms post them all the time. He said,
if it was up to him, he wouldn't put his
kids on the internet. And he talked about people talking
about his parenting and things like that, and then he
discussed that Michael Rubin picture with Kyle Kuzma and Michael Rubin,
and you know, he just didn't like the memes about

(06:34):
his friendship with James Harden, his friendship with Michael Rubin.
He said those memes bother him. Here's what he said.

Speaker 11 (06:40):
I'm dapping Kousman up and Mike happy to see me.
He run up on me telling his that Mike goshlanel
as on your nick. But we played like that they white.
So now I really understand how I understand. Like even
when the picture came out before he went vin, I
told him like, Mike, I can't have pictures like that.
But I literally when that picture came out, I literally
made Mike Rubin go to his security camera, go to.

Speaker 10 (07:00):
Footage and get the whole time.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
I just never I ain't even But if he did
all that, how can we still see the pictures?

Speaker 2 (07:07):
Well, the pictures are there, but he said he wanted
people to see what happened before, so you could see
it was only like a couple of seconds. Gotcha, because
when you see your picture, it looked like they was
hugging for mad Low.

Speaker 8 (07:15):
You don't know how long it was going on, and
somebody from the back is intimate and that's what it
looks like.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
But like he was saying, you know, he's basically saying,
white boys play like that, like they they run up
behind you.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
They're a little different.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
Sometimes it's funny that guys could do that to each other. Now,
imagine you with your man and some guy comes up
and hug you.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
They had him in a sandwich in one photo, he
was in the middle.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
You're making it worse, all right, But he's saying, you know,
he was he was bothered by that. But I also
agree with what he said. He got the footage, but
he never put it out because the more you bring
that up, the more people can have jokes and you know,
have things to say. So just let it go. Yeah right,
I feel like people kind of did stop talking about that, and.

Speaker 3 (07:52):
It does the hell when he talked about it again,
because he also has his.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
Own weed line called Wham and so that's finally available
Official Wham is finally available to ship to your door
in nationwide, So there's gonna be dropped every other week.
There's certain people when they have weed lines, You're like,
their weed line is probably good.

Speaker 8 (08:07):
I think he's one of them, right, Yeah, he seems
like he would have some good weeks because I don't.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
Like when people who don't smoke really or like, they
start their own You like, you don't even smoke, You're
not even known, like.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
No, j Low, I'm not gonna smoke your strain.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
And then she doesn't really drink. She's yeah, like it's
some people put out their own line of alcohol. You're like,
you don't even drink.

Speaker 8 (08:23):
Would you put out a line if you know the
opportunity presented yourself.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
You know, people have been asking me about that. I
don't drink much psych No, I'm kidding, but yeah, but
I think it would make sense.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
You should do it a little edible joint All right, well.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
Yes I should, All right, what I've been doing that
since before it was popular. All right, well that is
your yet and when we come back, we have a
b what are we doing when we come back about
last night?

Speaker 3 (08:45):
Yeah, all right, yeah about last night, and we have
a caller. We're in Atlanta.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
We don't know what's going on. We're not in New York.
But yeah, when we come back, we have about last
night where we discussed what we did here in Atlanta
last night. It's way yea time.

Speaker 5 (08:56):
So about last night.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
Yes, I went down nice all right, his way up
at Angela Yee. I'm here with my girl gas, me
and Brands. We are getting ready for jingle Ball in Atlanta.
I'm so excited because you know what it is, it's
holiday time. It's nice to have concerts around this time.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
I'm super exciting and I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
And jingle Ball is gonna be Gunna who we just
talked about Lorilla. Lorilla is going to be there, sexy
red and that both of them are on the cover
of the new Double XL magazine.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
Which is really cute. By the way.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
I love to see the two of them together at
T I T Paint SWEETI the Kid, Lari Khalid and Tanashe.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
So I like Tanashe toom.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
We're gonna have a time, y'all. I love all the ladies,
you know. I love Gloriala and Sexy Red.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
Okay, yeah, I'm not gonna lie me too.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
I can lie. But last night we actually flew into Atlanta,
and I want to say I met a legend last night.
You did, somebody who I've never met in person before.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
Shame on me.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
Ricky Smiley. Yeah, yes, we were checking into the hotel
and he was there. I love when people are like
because I look at him like, Ricky Smiley's been doing
this way longer than me.

Speaker 3 (10:08):
But he was very excited to meet you.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
He's a household name. Yes, you know. So that was dope.
So shout out to Ricky Smiley, who I had an
opportunity to meet and scat it up. It was so dope.
He said, anything you need, hit me up. So I'm
hitting up now.

Speaker 8 (10:20):
And I bumped into the actress and singer Anne ber
Riley the Glee. You remember the Glee actress. Yes, I
bumped into her on the elevator. She's super sweet always.
I'm starting to feel like Atlanta is like the lip place. Yes,
well we knew that. Well yeah, yeah, yeah, it's like
it's been.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
The lip place. But yeah, So we had a good
time out here. We're getting ready for the concert. We
had like a little pre party last night. We went
out to eat at this Mediterranean restaurant called Knife.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
So that was really good. The food was.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
Good, the drinks were good. It was a vibe it
was and you were ready to start doing some shots.
Now I said, slow down, be responsible, and they're responsible.
We got to work tonight. We got a long day
ahead of us. And you know we gotta go to
Toast on Lenox.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
Oh yes, yeah, I cannot. We know.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
We gotta go have some food at Toast on Lenox.
All right, we'll be doing that before the content. All right,
Well that was about last night. Now when we come back,
it is the holidays. I told you Christmas is only
six days away.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
Oh that makes me nervous.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
We were all in the room talking about what we've done.
Have we taken care of all of our shopping. Well,
we want to hear from you guys about some great
last minute gifts to get the loved ones in your life.
And even like, look, Jasmine and I have a thing
we don't share Christmas gifts.

Speaker 8 (11:28):
We do not we do not get we don't buy
each other Chris Christmas gifts, right, and so yes, no Christmas.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
But you know what's the worst if you tell somebody
let's not exchange gifts and they still get you in.

Speaker 3 (11:36):
Oh, I know.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
But let's talk about it. What is some last minute
great gift ideas? Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one
fifty call us up. I have some for you guys too,
some unique ideas.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
All right.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty last minute
Christmas presents. It's way up.

Speaker 5 (11:50):
This is way up with Angela.

Speaker 4 (11:52):
Let's go.

Speaker 9 (11:53):
Yeah, you are a media maven, right, you never know.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
What Andre's gonna say. What's up? Its way up at Angela? Yee,
I'm here Asthmin Brand is here.

Speaker 3 (12:01):
Yes, I'm here.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
I have to admit I haven't done a lick of
Christmas shopping yet.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
Oh me neither.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
So right now we're talking about last minute Christmas gifts.
What are the things that you need to be doing
eight hundred two nine fifty one fifty jazz And what's
your plan? You have your daughter, you got to get
her some stuff.

Speaker 8 (12:14):
I don't know what I'm gonna get her, but she
doesn't really care because she's only three. I'll figure out something,
and I have to get my two nannies and my
mom something. I have not started, but I'm gonna start today.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
I sent you something that I was like, I should
get this for Jazzmine's daughter, and you thought it was
too much.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
It's a little your gifts a little pricey for a
three year old. I'm not gonna lie. She can't appreciate
it so that she'll wait. She can wait till she's
like ten.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
Gosh. Anyway, So I do want to say at this
point now, don't order things online. I know I said
this earlier, but it might not get there in time
and you will be so mad. Just say yeah, and
then it'd be like, oh delayed, Oh this hasn't made
it yet. Also, be careful of online scam. But this
is what I like to do. Look online and order
stuff that you could pick up, so that way when
you get there, all you gotta do is go and

(12:53):
pick it up. You know it's in stock. They send
you a notification like, come pick it up now. I
highly recommend doing things like that. How do you feel
about gift cards for I mean, okay, all right, you know,
it's a lot of effort and for the person that
uses the gift card. I like a gift card, and
it depends on to where where it's too. I think
if you know somebody needs, like they just move, maybe

(13:14):
they need things for their home or things like that,
get them a Target gift card, you know, get them
Amazon gift cards, and that way they can buy the
things that they need because they'll appreciate that. H But
if it's somebody that you're really close to, I think
a present is not more effort. Okay, gotcha, all right,
all right, but we want to hear yours. Eight hundred
two nine two fifty one fifty. What are some great
last minute gift ideas? Monique? What are you thinking?

Speaker 8 (13:36):
So?

Speaker 2 (13:37):
Any type of gift set like matching hatt and scarf glove.

Speaker 9 (13:41):
Kind of combo or like sat them bodyworks like bath
bomb and the Motion.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
And all of that.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
You know what.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
I love bath Buns.

Speaker 8 (13:49):
Also, that's a reasonably priced gift too. Your suggestions are
not crazy expensive?

Speaker 2 (13:53):
All right, Well, thank you for calling it. There's a
lot of sales right now too, and I do want
to stress go online and get them coupons.

Speaker 3 (13:59):
Y'all.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
A lot of things you can be doing.

Speaker 6 (14:02):
Have a good game, you too, Hey Erica, Hello morning Dolan.
How are you?

Speaker 2 (14:08):
Good morning, darling. What are some good last minute Christmas gifts?

Speaker 6 (14:12):
So technically my husband and I aren't supposed to be exchanging. Fine,
we are new to Georgia from Tennessee. So I decided
to get tickets to the Falcons game.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
Oh, now that's gonna be a time.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
That's a great gift.

Speaker 6 (14:27):
Yes, We've never been to the stadium, so I'm excited.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
You should try to contact them to put something on
the on the jumbo tron. Like now, I'm just saying this.
It's not the hardest thing to if you try to,
like reach out, sometimes you'll do that. Let me tell
you something. Experience gifts are a one they always tell people, like,
if you can give somebody an experience that they'll remember
forever and half forever, those are better than anything.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
That's a great it's gonna be a great memory too.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
All right, Well you you a winner. Boom, Yes, thank
you have fun, but thank you great? All right, Well,
thank you guys for calling. You could still leave a message.
Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty. We're talking
last minute because we all need some help with that.
And when we come back, we have your ye t
Let's talk about Karen from Real Housewives of Potomac. They

(15:17):
have released all of these different video footage of when
she got arrested for DUI and we have some of
that for y'all. So yeat ready for this? We love
you Karen? All right, it's way up.

Speaker 5 (15:28):
Get Angela's feeling that ye te come and get the tea.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
All right as way up with Angela.

Speaker 8 (15:34):
Yee.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
I'm here with my girl Jasmin brand.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
Yes, not just brand on my own brand.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
Hey, let's get into this yet. So Karen Huger from
Real Housewives of Potomac has been found guilty of d
UI as well as other crimes she was charged. She
was convicted on seven of eight charges that prosecutors brought
against her, including d UI.

Speaker 3 (15:56):
Ay your way.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
And this is something they've been using as a storyline
on Real Highs of Potomac ballad, but she has not
been able to really speak on it. So they bring
it up. She's always like, I can't talk about it,
you know, I can't talk about it, And she does
get very defensive over and now this footage has leaked,
and I can see why this is so embarrassing. She
did DIDs a conviction on a reckless driving charge, but

(16:18):
she's facing up to two years in prison when she
gets sentenced on January twenty ninth. Her attorney toe TMZ.
Although we are disappointed in the Jerry's verdict, we of
course respect their decision and appreciate their time hearing our case.
We continue to reserve missus Huger's right to an appale
and intend to fully pursue justice on her behalf. So
this is all. When she was driving her car in
Potomac on March nineteenth, she struck a meeting and at

(16:39):
a crosswalk sign and then collided with a parking sign.
Fortunately nobody was injured.

Speaker 8 (16:44):
Yeah, and that's the most of this is. It's entertaining
the footage to watch her, you know, posts allegedly being drunk,
but it's not funny that someone could have got hurt.

Speaker 3 (16:52):
So thankfully knowing.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
This is a real wake up call. Here is what
it sounded like when she was trying to describe what happened.
And this is after they already had her and sat
her down for questioning.

Speaker 10 (17:01):
I am, I am, I don't give you.

Speaker 3 (17:08):
It has nothing to do with any of the Yeah, everything.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
To do with that.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
I'm sorry it's happened. It's not you.

Speaker 12 (17:19):
I am Thomas concubine.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
Now what do you need to tell me?

Speaker 11 (17:28):
I need to listen to talk.

Speaker 3 (17:29):
What I'm trying to tell.

Speaker 2 (17:30):
You Thomas Jefferson's concubine, the fact that you did a
deep dive Jasmine into who his concubine really was.

Speaker 8 (17:37):
Yeah, so, Thomas Jefferson's enslaved woman, Sally Hemmings, is referred
to as his concubine. There's allegations that, you know, Jefferson
and Sally Hemmings had actual children together, But that was
how we heard that. Yeah, that was that was who.
She's a black woman.

Speaker 3 (17:51):
That's so.

Speaker 8 (17:52):
Maybe maybe the grand Dame is related to Sally Himmings, Sam.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
Hims or maybe in a past life.

Speaker 3 (17:58):
Yeah, you never know, but she did.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
Is you a statement at the time of the crash
to TMZ where she said she was driving in an
emotional state after having dinner with her friend and discussing
her beloved deceised mother, and she said the conversation left
her crying while trying to drive home.

Speaker 3 (18:13):
Can I just say something? You know you have to
be to leave, go to go.

Speaker 8 (18:17):
They bring you in there, they bring you into the
you know, the room, and you still are like talking crazy.
You have to be really plastic. I want to say,
I've definitely been there.

Speaker 2 (18:27):
I'm so. I just do want to reiterate, glad that
she's not hurt, Glad that nobody else was injured. That's
all I want to say. But let this be a
real wake up call. And I'm saying that because when
I was way younger, you know, I was involved in
an accident where it was drinking. Wo That made me
be like never ever, like let me witness something like that,

(18:48):
or myself like if I've had a drink, I'm yea,
you can't drive.

Speaker 3 (18:51):
The end all right.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
Now, Black has revealed what it's like to work with
j Cole in the future. He has a new documentary
East Atlanta Fairytale, and he is for real having an
amazing life. But he's so talented. You know, I love Black,
I know you, all right, Well, here's what he said.

Speaker 13 (19:07):
I played it for him and almost kind of like
one of those like side eye moments where it's it's
like I'm a press play and I'm kind of like
look to the right a little bit and just check
you and see if you're not in your head, if
you're feeling it. He for sure is just like send
me that. And once he said send me that, I
was just like always on, Bros. These are just moments
that sometimes I'll be thinking about, like it just can't

(19:27):
be real.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
Okay, I can't even imagine. Have you had those surreal moments?
But You're like, I can't believe this is happening. Yes, yeah,
not like all the time.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
I know you do it.

Speaker 2 (19:36):
Sometimes I reflect and I'm like, I can't believe I
did X, Y and Z that this happened.

Speaker 3 (19:40):
God is good.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
Won't he do it all the time? Gotta do it?

Speaker 10 (19:45):
All right?

Speaker 2 (19:45):
Well that is your Yet when we come back, we
have under the radar. These are the stories that are
not necessarily in the headlines. They're flying under the radar,
but you need to know about him. One of them
I just posted about and I'm so excited. It's personal, y'all.
It's way up.

Speaker 5 (20:00):
News that relates to you. These stories are flying under
the radar.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
All right, It's way up at Angela Yee I'm here,
Jasmine brand is with.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
Me, not just brand on my own brand.

Speaker 2 (20:10):
Then gang's back together again. All right, let's get into
some of these under their radar stories. Now I'm going
to give you guys. We always talk about traveling. Where
can you go? Where can you go that everybody is
not going? Of course, we love usbi us Rgian Islands.
We had a time in Saint Thomas and Saint John.
But now they're talking about other places that are experiencing

(20:32):
a remarkable resurgence. And according to Travel and Tour World, Montserrat, Dominica, Saba,
where I've never been, sat K, Saint Vincent, Grenada, and
guilla Vanair, Bermuda and Saint Martin are driving a lot
of that growth. And Montserrat, I want to say this
because a lot of people have never heard of it. Right,
It is where my mom is from, and so you know,

(20:55):
I used to go there every year before the pandemic.
But I love to see that their tour is growing.
They call it the Emeralds Isle of the Caribbean.

Speaker 3 (21:03):
What's your favorite part about Monserrat?

Speaker 2 (21:06):
Now I would have to say it's little Bay because
that wasn't there when I was growing up. But it's
like right on the on the on the water, and
they have all these cute restaurants and bars and it's
really nice. Some of the places, like you have to
call ahead and tell them we're coming so that they'll
actually open the restaurant and be there, and it's so hospitable.

Speaker 8 (21:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
I also hung out at this bar all day one day.
There was there used to be a cell phone store
and it still has like the cell phone sign outside.
But it's just nice. It's a beautiful place to be,
So shout out to everybody n from the Emmerald's Isle
of the Caribbean. I'm gonna go back out there soon.
But they call it the there's also the buried city
of Plymouth. That's where my grandfather lived. The volcano eruptions

(21:44):
actually buried that part of the island, so they call
that the exclusion zone. You can't travel there and it's
all ashes, but you have to have somebody like come
and take you on a tour and they leave the
car running facing away from the volcano in case something happens.

Speaker 3 (21:57):
Have you been have you visited? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (21:58):
Oh wow, yeah, and then you can take a helicopter ride.
I mean, it really is amazing, wow to go and see.
So I just want to put that out there. I
told you all that was personal, but it is nice
to explore places that everybody doesn't know. But tourism has
actually doubled their most recently, so that's great. And then
last thing I want to say, bird flu. A patient

(22:19):
has been hospitalized with a severe case of bird flu
in Louisiana. This is the first instance of severe illness
linked to the virus in the United States. It was
confirmed by the CDC on Friday, December thirteenth. They said
since April, there have been a total of sixty one
reported human cases of bird flu, but this is a
very severe case where somebody was hospitalized. So just putting

(22:39):
that out there.

Speaker 3 (22:40):
I'm a little nervous about this, Angela. I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
You know, it always starts off like that person. All right,
Well that is you're under the radar, now, you know,
we got the way it mixed at the top of
the hour plus we are in Atlanta. We're out here
for jingle Ball. So yes, a lot of fun things
are going to be happening. But I'm excited to see Glorilla,
to see Sexy Red, to see to all of the performers.
TI yes, tanashe It's gonna be a good time. All right,

(23:05):
it's way yup, way yep. Mix on the way.

Speaker 8 (23:07):
She's like to talk like they Angela Jean, like they
Angela Jean.

Speaker 5 (23:11):
She's spilling it all. This is YEATI way.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
It's way app But Angela yee, I'm here. Jasmine Brand
is here.

Speaker 3 (23:20):
I'm yes, I'm all brand.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
I know you are. Let's get into some yet. So
let's start up with some amazing news. And she's going
to be performing tonight at jingle Ball in Atlanta. Lorilla
donated twenty five thousand dollars to Moros High School, her
alma mater. Nice The students thought they were going to
a pep rally to celebrate their football team's second place finish,
and she says she hasn't been there since she graduated
in twenty seventeen, and she gave them this big old check,

(23:45):
twenty five thousand dollars.

Speaker 3 (23:47):
I love that.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
Yes, that is so cute. They're also renaming the school's
library the Gloria H. Woods Media Center. Okay, that is
I love that so cute. Yeah, all right, now let's
talk about Trinity Robin. That's Dennis's daughter. She is a
soccer star, she's an Olympian, and she was on call
her daddy and she talked about how she just does
not have a great relationship with her father, Dennis Robin.

(24:10):
Here's what she said.

Speaker 12 (24:12):
We tried to live with him, but he's having parties
twenty for seven. He's bringing randomson. He loves the spotlight,
he loves the cameras, he loves bringing his children on
stage and being like, oh, these are my kids.

Speaker 3 (24:22):
I lost hope in like ever getting him back.

Speaker 12 (24:25):
I answer the phone now for like my conscience to
be like he needed to hear my voice before anything happens.
Like that's why I answer the phone, not for me.
He's not a dad maybe by blood, but nothing else.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
She also said her dad would refuse to give her
mother any money to help them and was controlling when
he did grant access to his money, and she said
he would take a shop and get his phones, do this,
do that, and you know, he said they just wanted
money to go get in and out after school, but
he wouldn't give them money for that. And then she
said that she live with her mom in a Ford
expedition for a bit and gave up on living with

(24:57):
her father because of those parties. And then she said
he wanted to be a known to be known as
a father and showed up at one of her soccer
games unannounced in her first season in twenty twenty one,
and she said she saw and heard him in the crowd,
having not seen or heard from him in months, and
started crying on the field. Oh no, I know, right,
isn't that crazy a lot?

Speaker 3 (25:17):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (25:17):
Well he has, by the way, since responded. He said, sorry,
I wasn't the dad you wanted me to be, But
either way, I still tried, and I still try. I
never will stop. I will keep trying, even when you're
being told as an adult not to respond to my
phone calls. I will try, even when it's difficult and
it takes, if it takes a long time, I'm always
here and tell you all the time, rather it's your
voice or voicemail. How proud I am. And then he said,

(25:39):
I watch you play all the time. I actually flew
in to watch you play and was told not to
show up because of who I was with instead and
me just wanting to support you, So I watched you
from my hotel balcony just to make everybody happy. I
love all my kids.

Speaker 8 (25:50):
Okay, all right, I'm okay. I just that wasn't the
best response to me, but okay.

Speaker 3 (25:58):
All right.

Speaker 2 (25:58):
Well, you know it seems like at certain times too,
he's just trying to like right his wrongs.

Speaker 3 (26:03):
Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, as a parent.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
And he should just keep on doing doing what he
needs to do and keep on trying. But he can't
hold it against her if she's not receptive, not at all,
you know, to that now it's it's more on him.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
All right, And happy anniversary to Kirk and Rashida twenty
five years together.

Speaker 3 (26:21):
That is a huge accomplishment, you know.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
Just recently he had posted on his social media, Wow,
Rashida twenty five years of marriage is approaching, plus being
in the entertainment business. I love you so much. The
real ones no accept I remember all the naysayers, all
the doubters, everybody said we wouldn't make it. Now look
at us. And here's what they posted today for their
actual anniversary.

Speaker 3 (26:41):
Do you have something you want to say to me?

Speaker 9 (26:43):
Anniversary five twenty five years on?

Speaker 2 (26:48):
A happy Anna? Personally my love?

Speaker 8 (26:52):
Can I just say, Angela, I do appreciate that they
show all parts of the good and bad of their marriage,
not just the you know, they don't fake like everything's good.

Speaker 2 (26:59):
So I like that everybody be like, wham be me,
couldn't be me? You know people say that, but I
we all know people who have stayed through some really
difficult and stressful times and yep, you know, we just
don't know about it because it's not an on TV. Listen,
I'm not here to judge nobody's relationship. Ever, Hey, don't
have a baby on me tradition. I'm out of here.
You with do a lot of things to me. You

(27:20):
have a baby on me, I can't. I can't take
what if you had a baby on someone?

Speaker 3 (27:23):
Listen?

Speaker 2 (27:24):
All right, Well that is your yee tee. And when
we come back, we have asked yee. Eight hundred two
nine two fifty one fifty is a number. Call us
up any question that you have. We're here to help.
That's eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty. Call
us up. Ask yee is next.

Speaker 5 (27:41):
Everybody sence, whether it's relationship or career advice. Angela's dropping facts.

Speaker 3 (27:46):
So you shouldn't you should know?

Speaker 2 (27:47):
This is ask ye what's up? Its way up with
angela Yee, I'm here, my girl Jazmine Brand is here. Yes,
and it's time for ask yee. Eight hundred two nine
two fifty one fifty any question that you want to
ask us. We can definitely help you out. We don't
done it all, seeing it all, heard it all. We
have a shanty on the Line's that a shanty?

Speaker 6 (28:06):
Hi? Hi?

Speaker 2 (28:08):
What's your question?

Speaker 1 (28:10):
What are you supposed to do? Is your spouse is
still supporting their ex financially, physically, emotionally.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
And what do you mean by physically emotionally?

Speaker 4 (28:20):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (28:21):
Yeah, okay, So I'm explaining to my ex concept to
me and told me that their homeboy passed away and
he wanted me to attend the funeral with him, but
I told him that I couldn't because I was in
a relationship. So turns around, my spouse, this x grandfather
passed away that same week, and she went to her

(28:41):
house and supported her. She went to the house, she
went to the funeral, she went places with her, they
went out to eat. She's still paying the phone bill, like,
she's still support me.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
When you ask her, why, what's her explanation?

Speaker 6 (28:55):
She was here first?

Speaker 2 (28:56):
Oh, well, then why isn't she just with her if
she want to do all that sounds like they're in
a relationship.

Speaker 1 (29:01):
That's why I said too, and she was, I don't
want to be worried. She's nothing that I want you.
I want you.

Speaker 3 (29:06):
How long have you and your spouse? Your spouse been together?
Married or a year?

Speaker 2 (29:11):
Now? What are the ties with this other woman? Like,
do they have any like kids together have like we have?

Speaker 3 (29:18):
Okay, So that's different.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
So that does make it a little different when there's
kids involved, right, But there's also got to be certain boundaries,
and maybe that's what y'all need to discuss. Who do
the kids live with her?

Speaker 3 (29:30):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (29:31):
Oh the kids that were her not not with her?

Speaker 1 (29:33):
Yeah right, that's what I'm saying, with her and not
the egg. So why should.

Speaker 8 (29:39):
Also the kids live with y'all? Yeah, okay, Oh that's different.

Speaker 2 (29:43):
Yeah, So I don't know why she would be financially
supporting this person. Do you think she still has feelings
for her? Because that's what it seems like. That's the
main thing.

Speaker 1 (29:51):
I mean when they have conversations, the whole conversation goes
milk every time. But I don't think that there's any
feelings involved.

Speaker 2 (30:00):
So maybe this support financially is to kind of keep
the peace so that they're not But I also feel
like the person the ex is taking advantage and maybe
the best thing to do for you, guys is a
get some outside help or b you guys got to
sit down and you need to just list everything like
this is what you did. Let's take a look at

(30:20):
the finances. Let's see how much money you've given her.
Do you not think that this is excessive? And let's
talk about setting some boundaries, okay, because sometimes people need
to see things in black and white and it's hard
for you to take the emotion out of it, but
maybe you need to have that conversation in a space
when y'all are not arguing, not in the middle. But
let's just sit down, let's look at this. And a

(30:41):
lot of times it's how you say it like it
bothers me when this happened or hurts my feelings instead
of being mad. Okay, good luck, well, good luck. I
hope y'all work it out. And I'm glad that at
least you don't feel like she has these feelings or
emotions for the other person. But you have to figure out.
Where is this coming from? Why does she feel like
she has to be like that's not her dependent, that's

(31:02):
not her child.

Speaker 3 (31:03):
Yeah, that's what she treats her life.

Speaker 2 (31:05):
Why And it's not helping your relationship and it's not
helping this person grow up.

Speaker 1 (31:10):
That's true, that's very true. Well, my mom says, HI
used to listen to see you every morning.

Speaker 2 (31:16):
Hey mom, All right, Well, well good luck, good luck.
I hope y'all work through it. Yeah, all right, Well
that was ask ye eight hundred two ninety two fifty
one fifty if you couldn't get through a leave a message,
Well answer your question that way. And when we come back, Man,
this person is a legend at iHeart Miss Anita aka Mama.

(31:40):
She was our receptionist for eighteen years, but everybody would
come in the building and take a picture with her.
Everyone loved her. On her last day, she went viral
with Will Smith. All right, and she now has a
book coming out next week, but we got to talk
to her about it. You guys are gonna love this
lest document our hip hop knowledge and history and hip
hop time capsule. We'll talk to miss Anita when we

(32:01):
come back. It's way up with you.

Speaker 3 (32:03):
All being waiting for.

Speaker 5 (32:05):
Oh, you tapped in the way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
What's up his way up with Angela Yee. And when
I say special guests, this might be one of the
most special guests. Uh, somebody who a lot of us
know in love, Miss Anita aka Anita Sippio. Thank you
for joining us today. Now you don't know the story
of Miss Anita. You worked at iHeart for eighteen years.
For eighteen years, yes, and you were the first face
people would see when they come in the door, whether

(32:30):
it's people who work there, guests who are coming in.
And everyone loves you so much.

Speaker 3 (32:35):
Oh, and I just.

Speaker 9 (32:36):
It was one of the best times of my life.
And I love everybody back. A lot of people call
me mama also, so it's just one of the best
things that ever happened to me working there.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
You also went viral with Will Smith. Yes.

Speaker 9 (32:50):
Yes, on the day that I was retiring. I met
Will Smith about thirty five years ago. Because I've been
in receptionist for thirty five years and when Will Smith
was just starting I was the receptionist there. When he
came in to do an interview, I met him. He
was so sweet. It was the first rapper that I
had ever met. I didn't know what to expect, but
he was so respectful and so kind. And then how

(33:14):
ironic is it that on the day I'm leaving thirty
five years later, Will Smith comes up to promote his
new movie and he yells out Mama, Mama, and it
went viral and I became like a little mini celebrity
and I've been living off of that ever since.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
So it was a wonderful day.

Speaker 2 (33:33):
Well, you're also a big lover of hip hop and
this inspired you to actually write a book. Yes, so
can we talk about this book because you have it
here with you.

Speaker 9 (33:41):
Yes, it's called hip Hop Time Capsule, Document your Personal Journey.
I was inspired to write this book on the fiftieth
anniversary of hip Hop.

Speaker 2 (33:51):
I went to Yankee.

Speaker 9 (33:52):
Stadium with my family and we were having an awesome time.
When I got home, I thought about all those people
that I saw, all different ages, you know, and I
said to myself, Wow, each one of those people have
a story to tell about why they love hip hop.
And then I started to you, well, maybe let me
adk some prompt questions that can get people motivated to

(34:14):
tell their.

Speaker 2 (34:15):
Story, to have their own Time caps their attorney with
hip Hop. Yes, right now we are talking to Anita
Cippio aka Miss Anita about her book hip Hop Time Capsule.
But let me ask you a couple of the questions
from here, just so people can get a taste, Okay,
because I know you answered these questions, but just so
people can have a sampling right of what they can't expect. Okay.

(34:35):
What are some old school lines or quotes that you
still recite today? Okay?

Speaker 9 (34:38):
One of my old school lines is by Eric b
and Rock him and he said, thought I was a
donut she tried.

Speaker 2 (34:48):
That's my fing right. I want to say mine, but
I feel like it's inappropriate.

Speaker 9 (34:53):
I know there's another one by Big Daddy Kine, Okay,
and it's really inappropriate. I won't even say it. All right,
this is what a quarter in your You played yourself.

Speaker 3 (35:10):
You get it, all right?

Speaker 2 (35:11):
Now, let me ask you another one. Yes, has hip
hop contributed to your personal growth? And if so, what
song or artists do you credit with your development?

Speaker 9 (35:18):
I like songs like Queen Latifa Unity. Yes, you know,
I thought that that was a good one.

Speaker 2 (35:24):
But this definitely would take people if they when they
get the book. Yeah, they'll take you down memory lanes.

Speaker 3 (35:29):
It'll take you.

Speaker 9 (35:30):
Down the questions were made to just have you thinking
and having fun and just going back into all those
good times even some of the hard times of your
life too, because.

Speaker 2 (35:40):
Music gets you through everything. How can people purchase this?

Speaker 3 (35:43):
This book is going.

Speaker 9 (35:44):
To be available on Amazon next Friday.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
All right, well, thank you so much. I have to
say I was going through some of the Tribune. I
was ashamed a couple of things I didn't know, but
I learned a lot.

Speaker 9 (35:54):
So well, that's wonderful. That's what it's all about, learning something,
having fun. And like I said, this is a party
in a book, so I hope everybody will pick one up.

Speaker 3 (36:03):
It's been awesome doing it.

Speaker 2 (36:05):
Well, thank you so much, miss Anita. You know how
much I love you. Everyone here loves you, and I
thank you so much. Hip Hop loves me and thank
you so much for having me here. Angela Again, that
