Speaker 2 (00:10):
How you feeling on a Friday?

Speaker 5 (00:11):
Happy Friday, Angela.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Yes, I'm so excited. It's Friday. By the way, I
had a crazy day yesterday, man. Listen, aside from three
interviews at work. After work, I had two dinners and
I had a book.

Speaker 5 (00:23):
Club to do, so sounds like it's a busy life. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
But anyway, we have day La Soul joining us today.
That is so exciting for me. I love some day
La Soul. It is like definitely a group that kind
of helped to find my childhood. They have a new
album coming out next week Friday, Cabin in the Sky
and so legends really definitely and like super nice human beings.
So excited for that. But of course we're going to
shine a light when we come back. Eight hundred two

(00:49):
nine to fifty one fifty Call us up. Let us
know who you want to shine a light on. It's
way up.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
Turn your lights on, y'all, light spreading love to those
who are doing greatness.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Shine a light on.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
It's time to shine.

Speaker 6 (01:07):
A light on them.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
What's up?

Speaker 5 (01:08):
His way?

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Up at Angela? Ye, I'm here with Jasmine Brand.

Speaker 5 (01:10):
What's up Angela?

Speaker 2 (01:11):
And it's time to shine a light. You're gonna love
this one. So today we want to shine a light
on Rose Meta Morgan. She started a beauty empire in
Harlem during the nineteen forties, and she actually had According
to Ebony magazine, her house of beauty was the number
one establishment of its kind in the world when then
came from all over the country to patronize her salon.

(01:32):
Linston Hughes even said that her salon was on a
stairway to the stars.

Speaker 5 (01:38):
I love that.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
She was born in Mississippi. She lived in Chicago, and
then she moved to New York. She started styling here
at the age of eleven. She ended up getting a
job in New York, became a popular beautician, and in
just six months time, she had enough clientele to establish
her own beauty chef. Do you know how crazy that is?
Back in the nineteen forties, she was so young too. Yeah,
So within three years she had the biggest African American

(02:00):
beauty parlor in the world, and in nineteen sixty five,
she founded the Freedom National Bank and that was in
Harlem on one hundred and twenty fifth Street.

Speaker 5 (02:10):
Oh my god, she needs her own movie. Excuse me.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Yes, this is something that I feel like people don't
know this story. I just recently found out about it
while I was doing Shina Light. So we like to
shine a light on you, Rose Metamorgan. All right, well, Drew,
who do you want to shine a light on?

Speaker 1 (02:25):
I would like to shine a light on my fiance,
and then mister Darby as well, because he was my
principal in high school. He's just a great man all around.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Oh, Principal Henry Darby. We shine a light on him.
After Jasmine sent the story about him walking working overnights
of Walmart to help out people with their money, with
their rank, college tuition, food, all of that. That stuff
that was your principal. Tell us about him.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
He was just good with all the kids. He really
connected with the kids personally and stuff, and he just
wanted to see everybody succeed, even the kids that get
counted out. He was counting on them.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Nice. See I love that. Now, tell us about your.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
My fiance. She is at the house right now with
both of the kids, she has her own photography business,
and she just supports me with whatever I want to do.
And she's just an incredible woman and I couldn't make
it through life without her.

Speaker 5 (03:20):
What's her name?

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Kendra Natalie?

Speaker 2 (03:23):
And when are y'all getting married?

Speaker 1 (03:25):
April?

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Oh, come on, man, you gotta you gotta know the name.
Put this on the calendar, put it in your phone. Please.
All right. Well, I'm sorry we put you on the
spot like that, but please know the date next time.
Oh you're good, You're all right, Thank you for calling?

Speaker 6 (03:47):
All right? If a good one? Thank you?

Speaker 2 (03:49):
That was shining light eight hundred and nine fifty fifty.
If you couldn't get through, leave a message and shine
a light like that. And when we come back, let's
do some yet you ready for this? Yes, our guy
ray J. And he does have a lawsuit against Kim
Kardashian and Chris Jenner. They actually suit him for defamation. Well,
he is now firing bash. It's way up.

Speaker 6 (04:10):
This pot. Let's get it.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
Angela's billing at ye, come and get the tea.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
What's up his way up? At Angela? Yee, I'm here,
Jasmine brand is here, I'm here, Angela. Let's get into
this yet, So ray J is now suing Kim Kardashian
and Chris Jenner. They suit him for defamation, but he's
saying they were all in on this sex tape that
came out that made Kim Kardashian the star who she
is today. He's been saying that, and he said it
was not leaked against Kim's will. I think that we

(04:37):
all kind of know that because it was produced.

Speaker 5 (04:40):
Yes, it was produced.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
I mean there was lighting, right, there were different camera angles, yeah,
and then you could definitely sue somebody for that, and
it was like sold. So I don't see how we
wouldn't know something like that. But in the lawsuit, ray
J says that Kim and Chris have spent two decades
pedaling the false story that the sex tape was leaked
against her will, and their fear is that he no

(05:02):
longer wants to play along with their tall tail. So
he's saying he initiated legal proceedings and Kim, Chris and
their production company entered a settlement with him. She agrees
to pay him six million dollars. He said he is
entitled to one million dollars in damages under the agreement.
I wonder how many they got to pay him that
one million.

Speaker 7 (05:18):
I wonder how much he got from this six million
that they agreed to pay him.

Speaker 5 (05:22):
I know it doesn't say it in here, but I
just wonder. I'm just you know, just being listen.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Skims is now valued at five dollars. Just paid that man.

Speaker 5 (05:30):
That man?

Speaker 2 (05:30):
All right, and a Babyface documentary is coming. I'm here
for it. Kenya Barris is producing that, and Deadline reported
that that documentary is coming out now. Babyface said, I've
often wondered how an unassuming kid from Indianapolis got to
where he is today, working with artists and achieving dreams
I could have never imagined when I first started. This

(05:51):
documentary has given me a chance to go down memory
lane with a fine tooth comb, re examining the highs
and lows of my life and career. I'm discovering where
all the songs really came from, and perhaps just as
important to how and why.

Speaker 7 (06:02):
I can't wait for that really quick angela, what's your
favorite baby Face song?

Speaker 2 (06:06):
Oh my gosh, one that he wrote or wonderful Hour
whipp a Pill?

Speaker 5 (06:10):
I was thinking, Yeah, whoop a.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Pill is like the perfect song. Somebody tell me. That's
my joint right there. All right, well that is your yeet.
And when we come back into Friday, so you know,
we got new music Fridays for you. We're gonna tell
you what you should be listening to. And maybe some
of these we've heard already so we can invoice our opinions. Okay,
all right, it's way up.

Speaker 6 (06:33):
This is a judgment free zone. Tell us a secret?

Speaker 2 (06:37):
What's up? His way up with Angela? Yee, I'm here,
Jasmine Brand is here. Yes, ma'am, it's that time, baby.
It's my favorite segment. I know, actually, I know, I
feel like you should call I should all right, well
eight hundred and two nine two fifty one fifty, what's
up anonymous?

Speaker 1 (06:50):
Call it?

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Tell us a secret.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
I got to d I a couple of months ago,
and I was admitted into sober living.

Speaker 8 (06:56):
And the whole last week I was there, I was
just getting called my roommates trump.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Wait, so you go to duy, so you got to
admit it to sober what's sober living?

Speaker 5 (07:05):
Yeah, it's like a rehab, okay, area for.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
Trapping, and so you got liquor in there and got
everybody drunk.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Yeah, on my last week and it's so bad until
I left.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 5 (07:15):
So it's no judgment, though.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
There's no judgment. When do you get your license back?
Are you really thinking that maybe you might have had
an issue with drinking? Are you gonna do anything differently,
or are we just back at it.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
I got my license back. Thet's put a breathalyzer in
my truck.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
Oh, I've seen those. That's when you got to go
in and then it beeps and you gotta blow into it,
like every few minutes.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
Yeah, it's so embarrassing every time you drive.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
While you're driving, you're looking at people stare at you.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
People who have that when you're on the phone with them,
you can hear the beeping in the background. And if
you have to park at Valet, they gotta blow in
it to the cargo right the cargo stop. So you
can't even really park at Ballet.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
You can't do anything. You don't want to do anything.

Speaker 9 (07:53):
You want to drive.

Speaker 5 (07:54):
But we're missing the point. He actually was in there
and got.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
And got drunk.

Speaker 5 (07:57):
But now now only got drunk, got other everybody else
drunk too. You're a bad influence.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
No judgment. Oh sorry, all right, Well, thank you for
calling and sharing with us. Thanks Ober, what's up Anonymous color?
How are you?

Speaker 1 (08:08):
I'm awesome?

Speaker 10 (08:09):
How are you?

Speaker 2 (08:10):
I'm good? Thank you? You want to tell me? And Jasmine
Bearing a secret? No judgment.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
So first off, I'm an hour late to work. I'm
working in Georgia right now.

Speaker 11 (08:18):
Okay, I accepted an offer letter in Detroit, so today
is actually my last day of work.

Speaker 5 (08:26):
They don't know it, nor will they know it.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
Oh my gosh. So you're gonna just not show back
up to work again after this?

Speaker 8 (08:32):
Yeah, they say something, I'm gonna be like, you know what,
I quit.

Speaker 5 (08:37):
She wait for somebody to say something smart.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Do you hate that job or something?

Speaker 3 (08:40):
I strongly dislike it?

Speaker 1 (08:42):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (08:43):
I strongly dislike my job because you know they always say, well,
at least exit on good terms, don't burn the bridges.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
You ain't going back.

Speaker 5 (08:51):
To Detroit. We love Detroit too.

Speaker 10 (08:54):
That's what's up.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
I'm from Detroit.

Speaker 7 (08:56):
We just moved down to Atlanta, and yeah we gotta
go back, all right, see.

Speaker 5 (09:00):
You in the d baby, good luck?

Speaker 2 (09:02):
All right? Well that was tell us a secret eight
hundred and two nine two fifty one fifty just in
case you couldn't get through you could always leave a
message and tell us a secret that way, and when
we come back, we got your et. And Eminem, what's
he got going on? Well, you know if some Detroit
things happening will tell you what it is, it's well
what you want.

Speaker 6 (09:20):
To tea because she came with receipts, it's time to
spill that et.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
What's up? As way up at Angela, Yee, I'm here.
The Jasmine brand is here.

Speaker 5 (09:29):
Yes, I'm here dot com.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
Let's get into some eutka. So Eminem and Paul Rosenberg
are going to be executive producing the Detroit Lions Thanksgiving
halftime show. That's a big deal. You know, they do
not play about that game a Cions a year for Thanksgiving.
They put out a statement from the Detroit Lions with
thrilled to be working with Marshall and Paul, who are
two of the most accomplished and respected names in the

(09:54):
music industry. Not to mention longtime Lions fans, their reputation
in the business will attract top tier talent and help
us solidify this annual performance as one of the most
anticipated cultural moments on the NFL calendar. I wonder what
they're going to have.

Speaker 7 (10:07):
And then they have Jesse Collins Entertainment to produce it.
So that's great too.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
We should try to go. We should oh, we shout
Thanksgiving going to Detroit. Okay, anyway, I need to see
I need to say on Saturday.

Speaker 7 (10:19):
I need to I love that they call him and
his Royal government aim in then Marshall, I'm gonna tell.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
You know, you know somebody, all right, And Tory Lanez
is now challenging this denied appeal. He's challenging the vulnerable
victim finding court documents that have been obtained, of course
by Megan qniff because she'd be following this and you
do not like her. Revealed that he did not dispute
the judges conclusion that his post incident conduct was a

(10:44):
major factor and aggravation in this case. But one point
he pushed back on was the judge's vulnerable victim finding.
According to the legal filing, this reference is Megan's former
best friend Kelsey Harris, who witnessed the shooting and said
the only one of these findings Peterson challenges on appeal
is vulnerable victim finding, referring to Harris's statement to prosecutors
that she saw peds and reached toward the center console

(11:06):
after threatening to shoot her. Peterson contends that she should
have recognized there was indeed signs that an armed individual
may be in the vehicle and had the ability to
run or duck when she saw a gun being pointed
at her.

Speaker 5 (11:17):
You gotta be kidding me.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
I don't understand that.

Speaker 5 (11:20):
Oh this is not funny.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
I don't know if I know something.

Speaker 5 (11:23):
And also they let him put like they'd let him say.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
This what the pill was denied on Wednesday, November thirteenth
by the California Court of Appills, so both his convictions
and tenure sentence will remain in place. I bet all right,
Well that is your Yet when we come back, we
have under the radar. These are the stories that may
not necessarily be in the headlines. They're flying under the radar,
but you need to know about them. And since we

(11:47):
were just talking about Marshall and Paul Rosenberg actually producing
the halftime show for the Lions, let's start off with
the Lions. When we come back, and under the radar,
we'll talk about this whole Trump dance and the apology
that followed its way up.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
No news this in the news that relates to you
these stories are flying under the radar.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
What's up his way up at Angela, Yee, I'm here,
Jasmine Brand is here, I'm here, and let's get into
this under the radar. So amar Ra Saint Brown from
the Detroit Lions. The Receiver apologized earlier this week for
his Trump dance touchdown celebration. Now you saw when he
cut the touchdown, and of course you know Donald Trump
was actually at the game. This was in DC against

(12:28):
the Washington Commanders, and Trump was so excited, oh gosh,
that he did this dance that he posted it on
truth Social. But according to aman Ra, he did not
realize that, you know, the optics of this was the
way that it did. So here's what he had to
say on his Saint Brown podcast.

Speaker 9 (12:46):
First of all, if I offended anyone, I do apologize.
I did not mean to offend anyone. It was just
we're having fun. You know, if any president was at
that game, I would if they had a dance, I
would have done. It had nothing to do with who
the president was. It was nothing more or nothing less.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
I will say, it's a funny dance.

Speaker 5 (13:02):
This is a funny day.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
Yeah, like you know, but you know, Trump thinks everything
is like about him. Yeah, all right, now, speaking of
things that are about him, did you know that right now,
about one in four US households are living paycheck to paycheck.
So I imagine if you're not getting your paycheck, you're
not even able to survive. And so according to reports
and estimated, twenty four percent of US households are having

(13:24):
that issue. This is all according to a Bank of
America Institute analysis that was released this week, and twenty
four percent of households spend over ninety five percent of
their income on necessity, so they have little to nothing
left over for any types of treats or nice things.
All right, So just keeping that in mind as we're
talking about this growing wage gap, inflation reaccelerating these tariffs.

(13:48):
But by contrast, high income wages jump four percent, so
the rich are getting richer.

Speaker 5 (13:53):
Yeah, and the poor aret scrapping.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
Yes, all right, well that is you're under the radar.
We do have the way up mixed for you at
the time. At the hour plus day, La Soul is
going to be joining us. They have a new album
coming out next week, Cabin in the Sky, and we're
gonna talk to them about it and I'm so excited,
so are you?

Speaker 5 (14:09):
Yes, I am.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
It's way up entertainment.

Speaker 6 (14:14):
Let's pour some eat.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
What's up his way up at Angela? Yee, I'm here,
Jasmine Brand is here.

Speaker 5 (14:20):
What's up you t time? Okay?

Speaker 2 (14:23):
All right, so I gotta say, man, there are some
funny things, uh that's happening right now, and one of
them is our guys Sada baby.

Speaker 7 (14:32):
He's so he's so talented, but he's so funny, hilarious.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
So recently he was doing the Cadillac chronicles and you
can see that he's in the car and he's trying
to do a whole lot of choppers, right, but he
forgot the words. And here's what happened.

Speaker 6 (14:47):
Both Cooky on my hands, I'll be you, heal me Hey, Jesse.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
The reason, well, dout'll do it. That's why you don't
perform no more. But you can't nott perform that song.
So so mumbling sounded okay.

Speaker 5 (15:06):
Actually the video is the best part.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
Yeah, you gotta watch it. Yes, all right, now let's
talk about Cameron. He talked about how he had the
opportunity to sign Max b. But you know how sometimes
you can be friends with somebody and it makes you
not see the vision of what it could be. Well,
here's what he had to say. Happened and he missed out,
But Jim Jones managed to sign Max By at the time.

Speaker 8 (15:25):
That's kind of how I missed out on Max B.
I mean, I'm just being straight up honest. And Jim
ended up signed them because Jim seeing the vision, because
Jim had an outside vision of Max. I grew up
with Max Charlie Rambo play all day, joking all the time.
So when he came to me and said he's gonna
start rapping, I'm like Joe trying to stop playing. His
exact words was killing the No, let's get this clicking

(15:46):
like Doffie's heels. I say, yo, play too much.

Speaker 7 (15:49):
Man, Dorothy, he got a personality on him, don't.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
I will tell you though. It makes it like when
he's somebody could say something like that. It's like they
got some type of wordplay going on, right. And lastly,
we talked about Miguel on Club Shasha yesterday. Well, here's
some more that he talked about at the end of
his seventeen year relationship with his ex wife Nazanine Mandy,
and he said basically the breakup forced him to confront

(16:14):
that he was not whole. Here's what he said.

Speaker 4 (16:17):
I wasn't whole though. I wasn't in the headspace to
be with anyone, and I didn't know how to. I
didn't communicate you. You know, there's a lot of things
that I did wrong. I didn't build the trust as
a just a friendship to protect the becoming a relationship
the way that I could have. You know, I think
if I was to do it again, I would have

(16:37):
really said, hey, I'm actually not ready right now.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
They were together for a really long time.

Speaker 5 (16:41):
I had a nice long run.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
Yeah, not to mention she did reality TV, but they
were together for over ten years. Yeah, so that's unfortunate.
But they did reveal that they were separated back in
twenty twenty one, and he had a baby since then. Yeah,
he've moved on, all right, that is your yet And
when we come back. We got new music Friday. Few
things out today. I'm really excited for a Wileet's new album,

(17:05):
but we're gonna play some spoilers for you. Boosie and
Young Boy have a collab album out today too. It's
way up with.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
It's relationship for career advice. Angela's dropping facts. This is
as gee.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
What's up? Its way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela
Yee and Jasmine brand is here with me and it's
time for ask ye. Eight hundred fifty is a number.
We have Mariah on the line. What's up? Mariah? Hey girl?
How you doing good? How are you? Girl? Power? What's good?

Speaker 1 (17:34):
I know?

Speaker 11 (17:34):
That's why I'm like, let me call my homegirl because
she gets the best advice and.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
I need it. Okay, we're listening.

Speaker 11 (17:40):
I was having a three year affair. Everything was good,
cop esthetic, and then I got pregnant.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
Baby.

Speaker 11 (17:48):
Come wife finds out because I had to tell her
because you're not gonna not take care of my kids.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Wow, you tell he didn't tell his wife?

Speaker 5 (17:56):
You did?

Speaker 12 (17:57):
Yeah?

Speaker 11 (17:57):
I had to because after I've gotgnant, he started acting
kind of iffy.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
So I have the baby.

Speaker 11 (18:04):
Or whatever, and everything's good for like the first three months,
and then he wanted me to sit on the side
when I was the side, Like, how is that possible?
So he went back to the wife, and having heard
from him since I go put him on child support.
So now he's mad that he's on child support. But
he hasn't paid it.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
Oh well, if he doesn't pay his child support, that's
gonna be his own legal issues that he's going to
have to deal with. That's on him. And just so
you know, we can't condone like you know, you know
what it was. You were the side piece. You got pregnant,
told his wife he was mad, but then his wife
kicked him out. He ended up coming with you, and
then he did the same thing to you that he
did to her. He got a lot of issues. Yes,

(18:47):
you have a beautiful child now, but you have a
father who was never really going to be the man
that he needed to be for any woman or you
know that alone a child. So I just feel like
all you can do is make him pay what he
needs to pay if he wants to see his child.
You know, hopefully he'll come around to be a better
co parent. As far as dating, is it somebody you

(19:10):
still want to be.

Speaker 5 (19:10):
With, No, not at all.

Speaker 4 (19:12):
You know.

Speaker 11 (19:13):
Honestly, with me not having my first daughter's dad around,
I really was just trying to make it so that
my other daughters can have a dad, I guess, but
I never really wanted them. I think good bout it is,
you know, I already moved on. I'm pregnant already with
a whole other situation.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
Wow, a fertile girl. Okay, okay, so who is this
guy now? Same situations?

Speaker 1 (19:40):
What not?

Speaker 2 (19:40):
Come on, Mariah, they don't come married.

Speaker 11 (19:43):
You just find it out later.

Speaker 7 (19:45):
See little things, Yeah, you see little red flags that
you probably ignore.

Speaker 11 (19:48):
Yeah, I speak past them every time.

Speaker 2 (19:50):
Don't ignore those red flags.

Speaker 5 (19:52):
All right?

Speaker 2 (19:54):
Well, Mariah, all I can tell you is, you know,
be the best mom that you can be from this
point moving forward. But I do want you to take
some accountability and make some better, smarter decisions for yourself.
Sure right, yeah, accountability is key.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
Okay, we could try.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
All right, Well, our good stuff, luck to you, and
please have a safe pregnancy and don't stress yourself out
of the things you can't control, right okay, girl, that
was ask ye eight hundred and nine fifty. You can
always leave a message and we will answer your question
that way. And when we come back Day Last Soul
is going to be joining us. They have a new album,

(20:32):
Cabin in the Sky, that is out next week. We're
gonna talk about it. It's way up and no beg
we about to do this.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
One of the lingos to famous women in radio vidio.

Speaker 9 (20:42):
Men, we're talking about Angela here.

Speaker 3 (20:44):
You're way up with Angela ye.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
Please believe that what's up his way up with Angela yee.
And this is so exciting for me, me and Jasmine
Brandon here right now we have day Last Soul in
the Buildings new album on the way. We gotta let
a sneak preview and it sounds phenomenal.

Speaker 12 (21:00):
Thank you so much, you know, and it meant a lot,
of course because it's the first album without Dave, but
he's on it.

Speaker 6 (21:05):
Yeah, he's on it.

Speaker 12 (21:06):
There's a lot of new stuff on it as well,
but just of course some stuff that Dave had did
before you passed, like you.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
Don't stop, because you put that early on in the
album and I saw at the end you said the
magic will always be three yes, and you let it go.
One of the other songs from my childhood that was
always a favorite was Biddy's in the BK Low. Yeah
you said that's a true story. Well, yeah, a little bit.

Speaker 12 (21:29):
Look kind of because me and Dave we used to
work at Berner King, so we had collected so many
stories from that.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
But how was that? It was fun?

Speaker 12 (21:40):
You don't want to know the crazy stuff, but I
just know that I don't trust anything that I don't
see someone making based off the crazy stuff that.

Speaker 6 (21:49):
We were doing. Oh yeah, I was leaving it at
that Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, watch the money in.

Speaker 5 (21:57):
But the story really it comes.

Speaker 12 (22:00):
From when he was on an LL tour and he
ran up in a burger king and yeah you tell
that one that Knox very much.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
No way, yeah, yeah, no way.

Speaker 6 (22:10):
You messing with the girl behind the counter that she
threw my sola on for me.

Speaker 5 (22:16):
You probably deserved it.

Speaker 2 (22:17):
I did, but I still can't do that.

Speaker 10 (22:20):
But it was well, I was what nineteen at the time,
feeling myself. All I could do is really laugh.

Speaker 5 (22:27):
We all laugh.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
Right now we have day last, so in the building past,
and of course Macyo is here and unfortunately not true boy,
but his spirit does live on days. Came to Wesleyan
University and did our spring Flame in college. Do you
know how amazing that was for us?

Speaker 6 (22:45):
Show?

Speaker 5 (22:46):
Yeah? Got pictures over that show.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
Yeah, you got pictures of us.

Speaker 6 (22:49):
I got pictures of us because yeah, that's when we
met all each other. Corey was there.

Speaker 1 (22:54):
Corey knew, of.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
Course, sty Yeah knew, and she introduced us to you
and Maria, and that led to us almost making it
onto a daylight. So yeah, yeah, I didn't go the
singing because this is what she's gonna understand. They were

(23:16):
singing the doom stuff, making up to me.

Speaker 12 (23:20):
So when I kept trying to figure out who I
was doing, I had won a vision of most I
had them do a version I had.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
Yeah, they didn't, And the crazy thing is that they
sounded closer to the way I heard it. But Angela, Angela,
I'm gonna tell you what happened. Literally, they were like,
Pas is trying to do this hook. He wants people
that can't sing for real to come and do it perfect, right,

(23:50):
So we go in there and I guess it was
like really off, yeah, because I.

Speaker 12 (23:55):
Wanted to kind of feel like that, you know, hey,
DJ like it went really on, but little off wasn't
nothing rhythm.

Speaker 6 (24:00):
I want the rhythm on, but.

Speaker 10 (24:08):
I had that.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
Daila sold his hair. Cabin in the Sky is out
November twenty first, via Massapel. We have more with the legends,
and I mean legends. When we come back, it's way up. Yeah,

is that nobody ever went solo, Like nobody ever said.

Speaker 6 (24:42):
But you know, I always wanted him to do a
solo album at one point.

Speaker 5 (24:48):
You know, but he was at him and I'm not
doing that right now.

Speaker 2 (24:53):
The labels never approached you like you know how they'll
do that, Like so.

Speaker 12 (24:56):

a Pass album, but I never.

Speaker 6 (25:01):

Speaker 2 (25:02):
Do your kids know? When did your kids realize when
they were younger celebrities.

Speaker 10 (25:06):
My son's when we did Rock the Bells is when
it really clicked to them that we were special.

Speaker 6 (25:15):
That's because.

Speaker 10 (25:17):
All that Yeah and Red and Math and everybody was
on that. Pretty much every rapper they love love us,
And it was shocked, like who are you? He's so los,
Like yo, Buster love you like that?

Speaker 1 (25:38):
You know?

Speaker 2 (25:39):
Buster?

Speaker 12 (25:39):
Your god?

Speaker 6 (25:42):
Do you know who your father is?

Speaker 12 (25:45):
That night that night I saw you I have had
a joint. I had my son with me, my young
and yeah, and Buster put them to the side like
that too, and he was.

Speaker 6 (25:54):
Like come here, and he was like he's like you
my nephew, and he was like uncle Buster.

Speaker 10 (26:00):
Other time when boys got old enough to start hanging
out in clubs, they ran into Buster one night and
Buster was shocked to see them because they've grown.

Speaker 6 (26:08):
Now, you know, and it was like uncle bus he
makes he was like you are.

Speaker 10 (26:13):
Me clear off the whole club, so extra over the fact,
Joe and they come home with this crazy experience.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
