Her latest contract for you for Yees season three, she's
going to be making one million dollars her episode.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
That's crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
You know who had the record before that making four
hundred and fifty thousand dollars per episode for nine to
one one Angela Bassi was going to guess yeah, yeah,
so before that it was less than half per episode.
She's also the first black woman to win the Emmy
for Outstanding Lead Actress and the Drama Series twice.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
And she's also a producer on Euphoria. All of the things.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
So much drama with Euphoria behind the scenes too, like
when it is the show coming back, this person's doing that.

shade to all.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
The gossip out sending Angela's speeling that.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
EyeT happy Friday. It's way up with Angela.
Speaker 8 (03:45):
Yee.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
I'm here with my guy. I Keen Woods can be
an extraordinaire.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
Yes, correct, correct, correct correct.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Let's get into some of this yet, Let's start with
some good news.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
DK Metcalf and Normani are engaged.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
He shared the news with reporters during his press come
Friends with the Pittsburgh Steelers yesterday. He talked about how
it all went down. Here's what he said happened for
his proposal.
Speaker 9 (04:07):
My family and her family was in Houston and just
thought about getting the whole family together just for a
big kumbaya and you know, joining our families with a ring. Well,
I tried to last year, but she's a singer and
we're kind of conflicted with the schedule. So just tried
to take an approach to where a schedule couldn't matter.
So I started sending her flowers with a story and
(04:28):
then the last letter on the flower was will you
marry me?
Speaker 2 (04:32):
An excuge and you know they announced kind of you know,
you put the picture up that was in July of
twenty twenty three that they confirmed that they had been dating.
They had been spotted out together for like a year
before that, so when things are solid, you put it
on the gram right now. He also talked about how
he was introduced to Normani by his He was teammates
(04:54):
with Russell Wilson on the Seahawks.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
Now they're on the Steelers. But here's what he said back.
Speaker 9 (05:00):
And twenty twenty, you know, Russ connected me and my
now fiance Normaney. Him and his wife, Sierra connected us.
She was talking to her and Russ was talking to me.
You know, we hit it all from day one, and
here we are.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
Cute couple.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
That's good for them.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
Yeah, And Sierra posted at Russell Wilson, and I knew
when we introed y'all three years ago, love was truly
in the air.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Now y'all going to be booed up forever. This was
the best news.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
And then she added both DK Metcalfe and Normani and said,
we love y'all so much.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
Double dates galore.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
Okay, it'd be nice if they're both still on the
Steelers and Russell Wilson remains there, so that would be
even more fun to be at the games. But your homegirl,
all right, now her she is actually going to be
directing and appearing as an interviewer in a movie, The
Makings of Curtis Mayfield. She said, Curtis Mayfield is one
(05:50):
of the greatest of all time and people don't even know.
And in this movie, it's not like other documentaries. It's
structured as a series of conversations between her and the
musicians and artists our influence by Curtis Mayfield's genius, like
Doctor dre Maxwell, Mary J. Blige, John Legend and others.
There's also a lot of archival footage of Curtis Mayfield,
like concert clips, performances on Soul Train, and so that's
(06:14):
gonna be a pretty interesting watch. You know her is
only twenty seven years old. Oh wow, And when I
tell you she makes major moves. I was with her
at All Star Weekend. She lives in Brooklyn.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
Oh that's cool, but.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
She's from Oakland. But she's absolutely amazing. She had us
at a restaurant in Oakland that was so good. We
were kind of off the beaten path, and I really
loved it. It's nice to go to somebody's hometown with them.
But if you don't know enough about Curtis Mayfield, I mean,
just think about some of the major things he's done,
like the soundtrack to Superfly.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
You can never forget that.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
The song people get Ready was named by Martin Luther
King Junior as the unofficial anthem of the Civil Rights movement.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
Did you know that?
Speaker 1 (06:53):
I did not?
Speaker 3 (06:53):
Do you know that song?
Speaker 2 (06:54):
Here's a snippet as a train a.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
Come Okay, I do know. That's exactly so.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
They just want to make sure he gets his flowers.
And that is your Yet when we come back about
last night, that's all about what we did.
Speaker 3 (07:10):
Last night. You were with us. We tried to see
this blood moon. We'll talk about it. It's way up.
Speaker 5 (07:17):
So about last night. Yes, I went down.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
It's way up with Angela. Ye I'm here, I keme
with comedian extraordinaires here with me. Oh I love that,
and yeah you are. And last night you actually were
at my house.
Speaker 7 (07:32):
I was.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
Our good friend Adam Rodriguez is in town. She is,
and she's in town to go see Bill.
Speaker 10 (07:38):
Burr right seeing she's seeing Lion King tonight and I
think Bill tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
She's got her daughter as well, and so we what
were y'all doing? Because you came up for a reason
I don't even know.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
I came over to run lines with idols.
Speaker 10 (07:54):
She had two auditions that will do this morning, like
right now, so I hope to lines. I brought my
tripod and her daughter Kayla set up like the thing
and like, so we were all downstairs running lines for
this show she's auditioning for.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
Okay, the other thing that I tried to do and
failed at. I wanted to really see this blood moon.
It was the first total lunar eclipse since twenty twenty two,
and the moon was supposedly going to turn like you
know whatever. I don't know if it's good luck to
see it or something like that, but it was so
cloudy we couldn't see anything.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
One can see anything. I was very upset about.
Speaker 3 (08:30):
It right so around because you texted me like with
a question mark.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
Yeah, I text you like the moon emoji and.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
Eyeballs okay, yeah, which I was like, what is he doing?
But I already had went and looked outside and saw
that I couldn't see the guy at all.
Speaker 10 (08:41):
So yeah, So then me and a Kayla walked outside
and we also looked up and couldn't see it.
Speaker 11 (08:46):
Right.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
So unfortunately the blood moon thing didn't happen for us.
But yeah, that was our whole night last night, and
we had don't forget.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
We had amazing oh and.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
Shout out to Negril in Brooklyn.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
We ordered food and it's so funny when you order
food on these apps and you can see how are
they're coming. He's the guy was coming on a bike,
so he took forever.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
Yeah to get there.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
And then not only did he come on.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
A bike, but he had stops along the way, I know,
shout out to him.
Speaker 3 (09:09):
Yeah, So we were just.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
Kind of waiting for for our food to get there.
But you had ox tails. You had a couple of
orders of oxtails.
Speaker 10 (09:16):
It would listen. I had a whole ox at this point. Yeah,
and it was amazing. But I have a lot left,
so I'll be giving it out to people in my builders.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
And I had the trinny stew chicken.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
Which was great. I thought was ox oule because I
didn't know.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Let me tell you, Akim he started eating my food
and they were like, is that oxtal a chicken?
Speaker 3 (09:32):
And then he lied and said it was.
Speaker 10 (09:33):
First, I didn't lie. I really didn't know the difference.
And then Akela was like, that looks like chicken, and it.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
Was yeah, it was all right. Well, anyway, that was
our night last night. Now we're ready for you guys
to tell us a secret. Eight hundred two nine to
fifty one fifty is a number. It's a no judgment zone.
Every day that Achem comes here, he says, is it
tell us a secret today?
Speaker 6 (09:52):
I know.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
I really love hearing y'all little tea.
Speaker 3 (09:54):
Yeah, he loves it.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
And the good thing about him is he definitely won't
judge you because he puts all his secrets online.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
I do eight.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
Hundred two nine two fifty one fifty call us up
into no judgment zone. Remember your anonymous tell us a secret.
It's way yep, oh, way yup.
Speaker 5 (10:09):
This is a judgment free zone. Tell us a secret.
Speaker 2 (10:12):

this is what you've been waiting for. I can. I
know I love with comedian extraordinaries. Here are you ready
for some secrets? I am, and some confessions. Give us
the eight hundred ninety two fifty one fifty anonymous color.
Speaker 3 (10:27):
Tell us your secret.
Speaker 12 (10:28):
So I went to a high school and too, but
I want to say what. I didn't get good grades.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
Okay, okay, and I worked.
Speaker 12 (10:37):
I was a person where you worked as a third
administrator on the back.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
That's nice.
Speaker 12 (10:42):
I'm the last year of school. Nobody was in there.
So I looked at my grade. I was literally going
to fail. So I changed on my grade and I
gradually liked the top five of my class.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
Oh my.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
Graduated the top five class.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
It's one thing to change your grade. But girl, you
damn you gave yourself Vali victorian.
Speaker 12 (11:05):
Nobody knew that's the crazy.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
I probably would have put like B minor.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
I would have put be the Seas, but she's like, no,
we do a top five. You You're going from being
a failings student to give.
Speaker 12 (11:17):
It the connectment, give me the scholarship.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
What year? What year were you in high school?
Speaker 12 (11:24):
Because that was the nineteen to tell me, don't get.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
Me, but were you a junior?
Speaker 1 (11:30):
A freshman?
Speaker 10 (11:31):
I don't need to know the tea to get you exposed.
I'm saying, like, what freshman, sophomore, junior?
Speaker 12 (11:36):
They can give me.
Speaker 3 (11:37):
It's okay, it's over now.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
Was you a senior?
Speaker 8 (11:41):
Yeah?
Speaker 12 (11:41):
It was twenty nineteen, girl.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
Counted?
Speaker 1 (11:46):
Did you get some college except.
Speaker 12 (11:48):
This letter I'm in college for right now.
Speaker 3 (11:51):
I call it from college. You know what's crazy about that?
Speaker 2 (11:54):
Because they probably saw so much improvement from her the
junior year, they were like, wow, she.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
Really is a bucks.
Speaker 10 (12:00):
This year she's a hard work for Meanwhile, she did
just control off delete.
Speaker 12 (12:05):
For good grade.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
I needed that, all this hard work and she just
going there and changed that D two in.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
A Listen, Sometimes you gotta work smarter, not harder.
Speaker 12 (12:13):
One point five A one point five, Oh no.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
You to school.
Speaker 10 (12:23):
She had a one point and then graduated like a
three point eight.
Speaker 5 (12:27):
That's why.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
The lesson I learned from this is if you're in school,
work in that office, work in that office, and no
one's looking and look, she had enough technology, you know, yeah,
to go ahead and figure out how to do that listen.
Speaker 12 (12:42):
And the teacher was in it. The teacher so anytime.
So I was like, okay, I'm not gonna say the
teacher because it could get him fired. Right now, this
is deep, okay. So the teacher, I was like, I
was still in his class the most, and I'm like,
I can't just change it straight away. So I was like, hey,
if I give you two boxes of copy paper from
this office, will you give me a B or a
(13:02):
Oh my exam, what teare you a whole criminal?
Speaker 3 (13:08):
Oh my gosh, you are.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
The fact that all that takes is to two boxes
of coffee.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
Paper, that shows you how poor the teachers will pay.
Speaker 3 (13:18):
You need to get paid, Like, yo.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
Listen, I'll give you a because coffee paper is eighteen dollars.
That's they were.
Speaker 12 (13:24):
They was like selling him paper like the office was
making him pay to elementary.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
Ain't got nothing on.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
You, all right, thank you for.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
Calling, thank you you.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
Wow, Yo, she's going to be a black criminal. Sat y'all, well,
don't try this at home or yeah, for school. The
other one encouraged that behavior, but well done.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
I'm happy for and when we.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
Come back, we have your yet and let's talk about
Cassie and her husband. You know they're pregnant having a
third child. Will tell you what the sex of the
baby is. And we'll also talk about some Diddy things
because he's got some things to say about that footage
with Cassie.
Speaker 3 (14:08):
This way up.
Speaker 5 (14:10):
She's about to blow the lid abof this. But let's
get it. Angela's villain at ye Tea, come and get
to sea.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
All right, it's way up with Angela. Yee, I'm here
and of course my guy, a.
Speaker 3 (14:20):
Keen Wedge is here with me.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
What's up, y'all?
Speaker 3 (14:22):
What's up? And let's get into some ut.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
So Cassie has confirmed that she is having a third
baby with her husband Alex. Fine, and it turns out
that third baby is a boy. Congratulations, yes to them. Excited,
So she posted yesterday there are words to describe how
grateful I am that I get to do this.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
Life with you.
Speaker 2 (14:42):
The laughter and pure joy that I get to experience
with you is beyond any of my dreams and manifestations.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
And it was his birthday.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
She said, you're taking care of me and my heart
like no other, your hands down the best girl that
I'm so excited to see you now become a father
to our son.
Speaker 3 (15:00):
Because they already have two girls.
Speaker 7 (15:02):
That's exciting.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
Yeah, so now that their one is a boy, so
they have a five year old, a three year old,
and now they're about.
Speaker 3 (15:08):
To have a little boy.
Speaker 13 (15:09):
Now.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
Of course, all of this amazing news doesn't come without
some drama, and Dinny is.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
Yeah, why did you say like that. I can't get to.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
I know, girl, but I just know it's gonna be wild.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
Well, Dinny is saying that CNN allegedly altered this Cassie
footage of him beating her up in the hotel, and
says that CNN also then destroyed the original video. And
so yeah, the defense has confirmed, through a forensic video
analysis at the CNN footage that the government provided to
this court and of the footage provided by CNN and
(15:42):
respond to the defensive poena, that all CNN video footage
was substantially altered in significant respects. So they want to
get this, you know, taken out so it can't be submitted.
Speaker 10 (15:52):
I just want the one question to be does CNN
have AI features that makes it look like you were
beating a woman.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
I said that they destroyed the original footage as well.
Speaker 10 (16:04):
Yeah, but there's no context that makes it that justifies
him doing what he did to her, Like, that's crazy
that he's like for you to see what happened before.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:14):
Yeah, And he's already I think, I mean pretty much
admitted that.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
This is real.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
He apologized, yes, So why are you this is really
just lawyer like jargon trying to get out of a
situation by any means necessary, Because besides this, he's also
accused in more than twenty five other cases of assault, abuse, rape,
and more, but even more allegations and filings coming in
a week after week, and he also lost one of
his key lawyers in the criminal case earlier this year.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
Lock him up, he's already locked up.
Speaker 2 (16:48):
So well, Mace is planning to put out new music
on the day that Diddy's trial starts too. By the way,
all right, now, let's talk about Bentley Evans. He's the
creator of the Jamie Fox Show and worked on the
mark showing all of that. And did you know that
he does not and has not seen any money from
the Jamie Fox Show, a show that's been on for
twenty five years.
Speaker 3 (17:08):
Here's what he had to say on holding court.
Speaker 5 (17:11):
The Jamie Fox Show.
Speaker 14 (17:12):
I almost can't watch the show if I see it
on because I've never even seen a syndication check yet.
Speaker 5 (17:17):
Oh wow, now.
Speaker 14 (17:18):
I've got I get my residuals from the writer's Guild
and from the director's Guild. But the piece of ownership
Jamie and I don't see any of that action. Man,
And then when you check, they go, oh, yeah, you're
still in the red.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
Twenty years.
Speaker 3 (17:34):
They've been playing that for so long. Watch that show up.
Speaker 1 (17:37):
It was queed.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
I do not. I don't know what type of deal
this was.
Speaker 10 (17:41):
That's to say that you're still in the red after
twenty years of a very very popular show.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
He's like, I can't even watch it.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
And then the bad part is it makes us not
want to watch it, but then he'll really never see it.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
Yeah, it's like a double ed sword.
Speaker 2 (17:54):
All right, Well, that is your ut. When we come back,
it's under the radar time. Nothing like getting booed when
you out and about and we'll talk to you about
somebody who just recently got booed pretty badly. She's like
to talk like they angel Jean, like they Angelie Jean Man.
Speaker 4 (18:10):
She's spilling it all. This is yeaty way up.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
What's up his way up? At ange Like ye, hey
kim here, we're talking a Kim.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
WIT's comedian extraordinaire with no drop, No drop, Yeah, joining
us for YEATI.
Speaker 3 (18:23):
Now, let's get into it.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
So Lizzo was recently performing, and you know, she's been
on a bit of a performing hiatus.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
Has been two.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
Years since she's hit the stage, but she's bearing a
lot about what's been going on with her. She's got
new music out today too, which we'll talk about during
New Music Fridays. And one of the things that she
discussed on stage was her mental health.
Speaker 3 (18:44):
Here's what she had to say.
Speaker 4 (18:46):
Was called Love.
Speaker 13 (18:47):
I named it that because about a year and a
half ago, I was in such a dark, deep depression.
Speaker 3 (18:54):
I was so heartbroken by the world.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
And so you heard that I didn't want.
Speaker 13 (19:00):
To live about her.
Speaker 3 (19:02):
That's why the album is called Love in Real Life.
Speaker 2 (19:04):
I just want to say that too, because I love
you get in real life is so different than what
you see on social media, right, two thousand percent all right.
In addition to that, she talked about a time when
she was at a show not performing and got some
love in real life.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
Here's what she said happened. And I was always walking
through the crowd to get to mom's bosh.
Speaker 1 (19:23):
Somebody who I didn't.
Speaker 10 (19:24):
Know looked at me and said, listen, I love you,
and we hugged and then it was ten people.
Speaker 3 (19:29):
Then it was a miousand people, and then it was ten.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
Thousand people showering you love and it was life saving experience.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
I was like, damn, you can't get this on the internet.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
Bro.
Speaker 3 (19:44):
All right, well, hopefully I'll have an opportunity to talk
to Lizzo real real soon.
Speaker 1 (19:48):
Oh fingers crushed.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
I actually did her keynote at south By Southwest with her,
so you know, good times.
Speaker 3 (19:53):
I love talking to Lizzo. All right.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
Now, let's discuss Dawn Robinson from in Vogue. We talked
about this story where she revealed that she's been living
in her car and it kind of seemed like car
life was something that she chose. But her ex husband
Ajay Allen said that he sees Don as a great
fit for Hilton Brands, and he said he doesn't want
to see her struggling or die in poverty like some
(20:17):
of his other friends, and so he's offering her a
job with Hilton Brands. He said he also previously offered
her that job before she chose to live in her car.
But he thinks that she could bring some real money
and sales and all of the things like that.
Speaker 3 (20:31):
So we'll see what happens.
Speaker 2 (20:34):
She did briefly reunite with in Vogue, but then things
fell apart for good. But here's what Jamaine Dupree had
to say about Dawn living in her car.
Speaker 15 (20:42):
From my understanding, for her to speak on it the
way she spoke on it, she was basically saying that
she saw other people living in their vans and she
welcomed the idea.
Speaker 5 (20:55):
Of doing this.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
Now, don herself has said that this is not a
poor Dawn. She's like, it's not that. She's just learning
herself as a person and as a woman. So I
know a lot of people were talking about it, like, oh,
she shouldn't be broke, she had.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
This, she should have that.
Speaker 1 (21:08):
I hope it's a nice car.
Speaker 3 (21:09):
I'm not sure what type.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
Of card it is, but this is her own healing
and self discovery. We don't know what's going on in
her life for real. This feels like it could be
an amazing documentary though, I just want to say i'd
watch it and I love me some in Vogue, and
I do want to say they all were lead singers
and so yeah, amazing and that is your Yet when
we come back, it's a new music Friday, so we
got some new songs that.
Speaker 3 (21:30):
Y'all are going to be grooving two all weekend. It's
way up.
Speaker 4 (21:33):
Girl, everybody since whether it's relationship with career advice, Angela's
dropping facts you should.
Speaker 5 (21:40):
You should know. This is Askee.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
What's up? Its way up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 2 (21:44):
I'm Angela Yee and a Keen Woods is here with
me today comedian extraordinaire. But I feel like there's a
certain type of people calling the show today because of you.
We have asked me right now eight hundred two ninety
two fifty one fifty and Drill Fairy is on the line.
Speaker 3 (21:59):
What's up, fair?
Speaker 1 (22:00):
What's up? Booth?
Speaker 6 (22:01):
Hi?
Speaker 9 (22:01):
Y'all?
Speaker 3 (22:02):
Yah you real Fairy? What's your question for? Ask e?
Speaker 13 (22:06):
So, I know you've been in this industry for a minute,
and I'm primarily I'm new to the industry, but I
like I'm pressing on a little young thing. But our
age different so I.
Speaker 3 (22:15):
Mean, what industry or industry are you in?
Speaker 13 (22:17):
A media personality? I have a soul too, okay, and
I'm checking for somebody. But he's twenty five and I'm
forty three.
Speaker 1 (22:25):
Girl, you got a check?
Speaker 3 (22:27):
Does he like you?
Speaker 13 (22:28):
He liked me and he got a blue tex so
he kind of.
Speaker 3 (22:32):
I mean he's legal. He's twenty five, you're forty three.
He's an adult.
Speaker 10 (22:36):
That's not too agregious because I think mid twenties is
like what keys to an adult is like. If he was,
I think anything lower than twenty five would be suspect.
Speaker 13 (22:44):
But but my son is twenty seven.
Speaker 8 (22:47):
Ooh.
Speaker 2 (22:48):
I mean you know, at the end of the day,
though you guys are adults.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
He's not friends with your son, is he.
Speaker 13 (22:54):
No, he's not friends with my son. But my son
listens to his music.
Speaker 1 (23:01):
He's about to make a song about his mom.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
I feel like men do it all the time.
Speaker 13 (23:06):
Listen, girl, I don't want to be looking like real
real Kelly.
Speaker 15 (23:10):
Now.
Speaker 13 (23:10):
I don't want to I don't want to be looking
like that in this industry.
Speaker 3 (23:13):
Listen.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
He's twenty five years old, and some people might say
I don't want to date somebody younger than my child.
It's all suggested. It's all based on who you are
as a person. What makes you feel good. Is he
mature enough, does he want to be in a relationship,
or are you just trying to have a fleeing Those
are all things to think about. And I also feel
like you guys don't have to publicly date at first
(23:35):
if you're not sure what it's going to turn into.
If it's not going to turn into anything, that's your business.
Speaker 10 (23:39):
And there's no power dynamic, right Like you're not his
manager or nothing, or his boss or nothing.
Speaker 13 (23:43):
No, I'm not his boys, but I'm trying to see
what that thing is hitting for. So I'm like the
same people, we know, the same.
Speaker 1 (23:53):
People my voters, go do it?
Speaker 3 (23:54):
Yeah, we know that. Kip says, go do it.
Speaker 2 (23:57):
I just feel like, just know what you're getting yourself into,
and if you're okay with it, that's fine. But there
is nothing wrong with this unless it feels wrong to you.
Speaker 10 (24:05):
I agree, I say do it and DM me his
his profile so I can see who he is.
Speaker 13 (24:10):
He was gonna find honey baby, because once I do that,
I don't.
Speaker 3 (24:13):
Know, Oh he's gonna be honest.
Speaker 13 (24:16):
And also I'm glad I spoke to you. Now that
I got your little attention, you need to have me
on lift service, Angela, like for real, you gotta check me.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
Out, all right, DM me, I'm a d M all right.
Thank you Ji rry for calling.
Speaker 2 (24:31):
That was ask ye eight hundred and two nine two
fifty one fifty. If you couldn't get through, you can
always leave a message and get some advice that way.
And when we come back, this guy needs advice on
Beauty and Black. His character, not his real life person,
Julian Horton, he plays Rory on Beauty and Black.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
We'll be talking to him. It's way up.
Speaker 5 (24:47):
Yeah, it's gonna turn me up.
Speaker 3 (24:49):
Here we go again.
Speaker 5 (24:51):
This is way up with Angela. Yee.
Speaker 3 (24:53):
What's up? It's way up with Angela yee. And welcome
in the building.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
This is also a monumental time we have Julian hort
in here with us. You know him as Roy on
Beauty and Black and congratulations.
Speaker 7 (25:04):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (25:05):
Literally a couple of hours ago it broke that season
two is happening for Beauty of Happening. And I know
you couldn't wait for that news to break because I
feel like you guys already taped it or we know
how Tyler Perry does. Yeah, okay, so I saw it's
going to be two parts also, just like Part one
was two parts and you know, people could not wait,
and I am people for part two to job because
(25:27):
after part one ended, I was like, okay, come on,
we gotta like it's gonna be crazy.
Speaker 3 (25:32):
Yeah, so I'm excited for this. So talk to me.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
About this, right, because your character, and this is something
I was thinking about, like your redeeming qualities of Rory,
because he is somebody that on the surface, it's like
a mess. Right people look at him as kind of
the loser in the family. I mean they do, right, No, no, no,
(26:00):
he's like I get offended over my character. But when
you dig deeper into it, you can kind of see
why he might have all these issues because the family is.
Speaker 16 (26:08):
Definitely definitely and you got to see that in you know,
some of the scenes this season in part two, especially
with my Dad in the hospital scene, you get to
understand really why like Roy is the way he is now,
especially you know what I'm saying, So I get you know,
he has a lot of layers to him, and I
think that he does have a lot of redeemable qualities.
Speaker 3 (26:24):
Julian Horton is here.
Speaker 2 (26:26):
You know him as Rory from Beauty and Black, But
what are the things you say are redeemable about it?
Speaker 16 (26:30):
I think he's animated and likes to have fun. I
think he's an as little bit, but I still think
that he'd be a fun guy to get a drink with,
especially with his wife.
Speaker 7 (26:37):
They have so many moments that the fans love.
Speaker 2 (26:39):
Yeah, I will say your guys dialogue with each other
is probably it's crazy, you know, the kiss and tell
part y'all seem like you hate each other, but then
at the same time, it feels like there's something there. Definitely,
It's like you want to know who she's sleeping with.
She wants to know really badly who you're sleeping with,
And we don't care about each other.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
Why does it matter?
Speaker 7 (26:58):
Fact, there's definitely a deeper love down there, for sure.
Speaker 3 (27:01):
I think that's true for a lot of people in
real life.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
Like sometimes people get so used to each other, and
then there is also this dynamic of you know, you
are the heir to Beauty and Black and this huge fortune,
and she's married to you, and maybe she doesn't get
the access that she has without you. That's facts, right,
But then you're kind of the in the family. So
without her, who's kind of heading this up. You guys
(27:24):
also need each other.
Speaker 7 (27:26):
I think the love's there.
Speaker 16 (27:27):
We talk to each other, but at the same time,
you definitely love each other. But maybe not though, because
season two is go see some craziness.
Speaker 2 (27:35):
What now, let's just say it was you writing the script,
not to say what's really going to happen, But after
the end of season one, how would you approach season
two if it was you, if it was Julian saying
this is what should happen.
Speaker 7 (27:46):
Next Road will go to therapy one.
Speaker 3 (27:48):
Okay, we got to get that thing back working.
Speaker 7 (27:51):
You go to therapy Leader Cocolow.
Speaker 16 (27:53):
Yeah, and I want to see a successful partnership with Mallory,
you know.
Speaker 2 (27:58):
Okay, so you want Word to clean up his act,
him to fix his marriage, go to therapy.
Speaker 7 (28:02):
But the total opposite happens.
Speaker 16 (28:04):
Maybe maybe, maybe I think it's even more explosive than
season one.
Speaker 3 (28:09):
Julian Horton is here.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
Make sure y'all also took out his lip service interview
that was quite entertaining. But of course, Beauty and Black,
we're getting ready for season two, but we got to
talk some more about what happened during part two of
season one.
Speaker 3 (28:21):
We have more when we come back. It's way up,
I beg we're about.
Speaker 9 (28:25):
To do this one of the melos, the famous women
in Radio Vidio.
Speaker 5 (28:28):
We're talking about Angela Ye. You're way up with Angela Yee.
Please believe that what's up?
Speaker 3 (28:33):
His way up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
And you know I've binge watched The Beauty in Black immediately.
Julian Horton, who plays Rory, is here right now. What
have been some of the best reactions that you had
in real life from people?
Speaker 7 (28:45):
Now?
Speaker 16 (28:46):
You know, I went to the Eagles game in Philly,
and you know we talked about last time, like on
the Blip Serf, I'll just be doing my own thing
and chill and remember walking around the city. But I
walked like three miles from the Eagles game because there
was an NFC championship and there was no by yourself
finally yes, by myself, and the cold in Chelsea boots
and twenty degree weather, people frozen as hell. Then you know,
(29:08):
you got some some black girls and come up and
stuff and they won't buy and then walk and I
get a lot, they'll walk by double take from that show.
I always say, I know what you're talking about, just
I don't know it might I got.
Speaker 7 (29:21):
From the show.
Speaker 1 (29:21):
But then they asked me.
Speaker 16 (29:22):
So we got in a conversation to pictures or whatever whatever,
and finally my Uber came and then they walked off
and I was in the black.
Speaker 7 (29:29):
Truck by myself, and I said, you know, this is
a big car. I could use some people to talk to.
Speaker 16 (29:34):
Hey, I got their attention and I said, hey, Rob
with me.
Speaker 1 (29:38):
That's so nice.
Speaker 16 (29:39):
And we rode together and they asked me all these
questions about the show, your uncle, about me uncle, your brother,
all this stuff. So it's just having these interactions. Having
this reception to the show is a blessing. It's amazing
and treonor just to even be on the show that
I had people watch my acting.
Speaker 3 (29:54):
Just think about it.
Speaker 2 (29:54):
You went from football to acting to having to take
a step back and drive Uber. Yeah, which we talked
about before, and now you're taking Uber blacks and bringing
people with you.
Speaker 16 (30:04):
Man, I didn't even think about that. That is a
hell of a damn transition and pivot, right. I didn't
even think about that. Joe Uber and not only Uber Black.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
I take whatever Uber's cheap is. I'm gonna be honest.
Julian Horton is here. You know him as Rory from
Beauty and Black. Could you fly coach?
Speaker 5 (30:21):
Yes?
Speaker 16 (30:22):
Because flights is different, you know what I'm saying. The
sight the flights a flight, you know what I'm saying,
it's gonna give a point at to point B. But
the black truck, Yeah, because sometimes people be having stains
in the car.
Speaker 7 (30:31):
People be ooh.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
One time I was taking a regular Uber to the airport.
My friends sat on the other side and somebody must
have on that seat. I'm telling her whole pants were wet,
and I just said to myself, I'm so glad I
sat on the subact fact, and she was so mad
she had to like change her pants when you get
I mean.
Speaker 3 (30:48):
That's so disgusting.
Speaker 16 (30:49):
It's disgusting, and it's just different. But the black Truck
is going to be official every time.
Speaker 3 (30:53):
Sometimes they got candy.
Speaker 7 (30:55):
And water, candy TV.
Speaker 16 (30:58):
The little game I'd be playing thing, I'll try to
get to beat the high score.
Speaker 3 (31:01):
I'll be doing everything my time think about it.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
But honestly, and I know, you know, just people should
go back and watch that lip service episode two. But
you should feel so great about just like because when
we had you on the first time, even more has
happened since then. What else do you have in the
works besides Part two? More acting? Are you looking at
more scripts? I know you're writing your own. You said, yeah,
I got this movie coming out called The Highwaymen. It's
(31:24):
actually in the Civil Rights era. It's about the Florida Highwaymen.
And there are painters that have painted in the sixties.
Speaker 7 (31:29):
And I got a movie.
Speaker 16 (31:30):
Yeah, that's that's the next movie that I got coming out,
And I got to play this guy named Alfred Newton,
and yeah, it's gonna be great to just let people
see a different side of me too, because it's like
I got a little selling.
Speaker 1 (31:40):
Accent with it, and let me hear it again.
Speaker 7 (31:42):
It's a little bit like I'm a painter now I'm
trying to do better. I got them better for these people.
Speaker 16 (31:47):
Now, you've got to know that everybody gonna keep on
watching you when you gotta paint the best you can.
Speaker 3 (31:52):
Congratulations on that.
Speaker 7 (31:53):
I thank you for having me every time.
Speaker 2 (31:55):
Yes, and the music when you had you know, let
me know about that too, because now I definitely will
not you.
Speaker 3 (32:02):
We like exclusive?
Speaker 5 (32:03):
Can you show you a song?
Speaker 1 (32:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (32:04):
We like exclusive?
Speaker 7 (32:05):
Can you show you a song?
Speaker 3 (32:06):
Absolutely? All right, Well, thank you for coming.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
We're gonna listen to some music and then when you
guys are ready, we'll get the exclusives.
Speaker 8 (32:13):
Right.
Speaker 2 (32:13):
Yes, you can watch that for a interview on my
YouTube channel Way Up with You, And when we come back,
you guys got the last words?
Speaker 4 (32:20):
Take up the phone taping to get your voice heard.
Speaker 5 (32:24):
What the word? He's the last word? On Way Up
with Angela?
Speaker 8 (32:28):
Ye?
Speaker 7 (32:28):
What up this?
Speaker 3 (32:29):
Way up at Angela?
Speaker 11 (32:30):
Yee?
Speaker 3 (32:30):
I'm here with Akeem Wood.
Speaker 1 (32:31):
What's up?
Speaker 7 (32:32):
God?
Speaker 3 (32:32):
What's you got going on this weekend?
Speaker 1 (32:34):

Speaker 3 (32:35):
I love it.
Speaker 10 (32:35):

I haven't been able to do because work, work, work, work, work,

Speaker 2 (33:03):
I got to catch up so that I could be

And I want to thank Julian Horton for joining us today.
Make sure you guys catch up on Beauty and Black
as well so you can get ready for season two.
All right, That for interviews on my YouTube channel, Way

Speaker 3 (33:21):

and his best friend came to step in and help
me out with me and my kids, our kids, and
we end up having to day together and he doesn't
know still to this day.
Speaker 8 (33:41):
Good morning. I'm just calling China. Light on my brother
that I lost almost six months ago. He was run
down off side of his house, forty one years old,
and I was just was calling to Hinna light on
the amazing man, and he wrote that he was he
was my only brother and the thing that's my sister
now together as we lived our lives without our parents
(34:02):
and our grandparents and my brother leaves behind three beautiful
daughters that are all under the age of five. I
just want to be the sister that I need to
be to keep his legacy going, the aunt that I
need to be to my nieces, and I'm just also

Speaker 5 (34:19):
Going way out turning out with Angela Yee
