goal of being an independent artist is? Today because all
of the things that people are chasing is ish major

artists do. What's the thing that indie artists do that
make it special? Can you answer that question, Mayo.

The goals is good money, exactly, that's the goal.

I think the main thing that major label artists have
an issue with is that they never see any money
from their music. But when you're independent, you get a
larger piece of that. Now, granted it may not be
as big of a pie that you're going to get
a piece of. Sometimes it can be, though. It just depends,
And I think if you really want to bet on
yourself and believe in yourself, then yes, go independent. I

also think that if you're an independent artist and you
build yourself up to a certain point, you can get
a way bigger deal upfront, you know. So I think
it does have to do with cash, and maybe at
a certain point you're like, okay to take it to
the next level. I want a major label. I don't
want to have to do all this work by myself.
I don't want to have to hire my own marketing person,
my own promotions team, my own PR person. Let's get

a label to do all of that for us. Just
knowing that you just won't get as much money because
that money goes into a lot of other things.

Well, you may get a bigger advance anyway.

money and other things. It's a trade off. But I
will say that I think if you can independently make

I'm actually working on a project today in the Bronx.

And one of my friends tell me she was like, oh,
the Habitat for Humanity was just in New Orleans or
just here, but it actually works in more than seventy
countries and they've helped more than sixty two million people
improve their living conditions. They were founded in nineteen seventy six.
I know people personally who have gotten their homes from
Habitat for Humanity. So you build a house, I want
to say it like that, but yes, we're part of

the process of building a home. And I think it's amazing.
They figure out who to give the home, so people
can apply for that and so, and people can also donate.
But people who need a decent place to live, families,
you know, they build safe and affordable homes and and
that's all in partnership with Habitat for Humanity and I
hosted there gala last year, and so it really inspired

me because I got a chance to meet some of
the families who actually got homes from Habitat for Humanity.
And we know home ownership is something that can definitely,
you know, help you as far as passing that down
generation a generation. I think there's nothing more secure than
feeling like I have a place to live. So that's
why I love the work that they're doing. I might
have you come you want to do a build day?
Why not we should head up our own bill day

together to volunteer for the day to work with them.

apparently he's been sick and his family did provide an update.
They confirm that he is alive. After rumors to the
contrary surfaced, they went on Instagram and put out a statement.

We wanted to share that Dwayne Wiggins experiencing medical complications.
He is working through it one day at a time.
We know how beloved he is by so many, and
we are grateful for your prayers and concern. We also
request that you respect the family's privacy during this time.

Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and that's because Donald
Trump has taken over that venue. Seller wrote, political disagreement
and debate our vital expressions of democracy. These basic concepts
of freedom are at the very heart of Hamilton. However,
some institutions are sacred and should be protected from politics.
The Kennedy Center is one such institution, so it's supposed

to be a neutral space, but he says that it
has now been destroyed with Trump at the Helm and
the recent purge by the Trump administration of staff and
events producer hosted at the venue flies in the face
of everything this National Cultural Center represents. So they have
canceled Hamilton's third run at the Kennedy Center that was
supposed to start, actually was supposed to start March third

and go through April twenty six. And you know, Easter
Ray also canceled her sold out event that was there
as well, because they don't feel like they want to
support something that Donald Trump has taken over. He basically
took it over and announced that in early February, and
he also terminated immediately multiple individuals from the board of trustees.

We've been discussing how President Donald Trump has been putting
out executive orders, then reversing them, then firing people, then
re hiring them. Well, yesterday he signed executive actions that
are delaying for nearly one month tariffs on all products
from Mexico and Canada that are covered by the US

MCA Free Trade treaty. So that's a significant walk back
since he's talked about these twenty five percent tariffs.

Right, it's not going to happen, he.

Said, I have, after speaking with President Claudia Scheinbaum of Mexico,
I have agreed that Mexico will not be required to
pay tariffs on anything that falls under the US MCA agreements.
So all it took was a phone call for him
to say that, and he said the terrorists will be
delayed until April second. So yeah, this is the United States,
Mexico Canada agreement. And I'm not sure what's going to happen,

but he said he did this out of an accommodation
and out of respect for President Shinebaum. Our relationship has
been a very good one and we are working hard
together on the border, both in terms of stopping illegal
aliens from entering the United States and likewise stopping Fantanahl.

despite the terrible job he's done for Canada, I think
that Justin Trudeau is using the tariff problem, which he
has largely caused, in order to run again for prime minister.
So much fun to watch. But he did walk it back.

I think the main thing that major label artists have
an issue with is that they never see any money
from their music. But when you're independent, you get a
larger piece of that. Now, granted it may not be

a piece of. Sometimes it can be, though. It just depends,
And I think if you really want to bet on
yourself and believe in yourself, then yes, go independent. I

also think that if you're an independent artist and you
build yourself up to a certain point, you can get
a way bigger deal upfront, you know. So I think
it does have to do with cash, and maybe at
a certain point you're like, okay to take it to
the next level. I want a major label. I don't
want to have to do all this work by myself.
I don't want to have to hire my own marketing person,
my own promotions team, my own PR person. Let's get

a label to do all of that for us. Just
knowing that you just won't get as much money because
that money goes into a lot of other things.

to say it like that, but yes, we're part of

the process of building a home. And I think it's amazing.
They figure out who to give the home, so people
can apply for that and so, and people can also donate.
But people who need a decent place to live, families,
you know, they build safe and affordable homes and and
that's all in partnership with Habitat for Humanity and I
hosted there gala last year, and so it really inspired

me because I got a chance to meet some of
the families who actually got homes from Habitat for Humanity.
And we know home ownership is something that can definitely,
you know, help you as far as passing that down
generation a generation. I think there's nothing more secure than
feeling like I have a place to live. So that's

Trump has taken over that venue. Seller wrote, political disagreement
and debate our vital expressions of democracy. These basic concepts
of freedom are at the very heart of Hamilton. However,
some institutions are sacred and should be protected from politics.
The Kennedy Center is one such institution, so it's supposed

to be a neutral space, but he says that it
has now been destroyed with Trump at the Helm and
the recent purge by the Trump administration of staff and
events producer hosted at the venue flies in the face
of everything this National Cultural Center represents. So they have
canceled Hamilton's third run at the Kennedy Center that was
supposed to start, actually was supposed to start March third

and go through April twenty six. And you know, Easter
Ray also canceled her sold out event that was there
as well, because they don't feel like they want to
support something that Donald Trump has taken over. He basically
took it over and announced that in early February, and
he also terminated immediately multiple individuals from the board of trustees.
And so when something like that happens, you don't just

go forward as planned and as scheduled. All right, well,
that is your ut. And when we come back, we

We've been discussing how President Donald Trump has been putting
out executive orders, then reversing them, then firing people, then
re hiring them. Well, yesterday he signed executive actions that
are delaying for nearly one month tariffs on all products
from Mexico and Canada that are covered by the US

MCA Free Trade treaty. So that's a significant walk back
since he's talked about these twenty five percent tariffs.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
Right, it's not going to happen, he.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
Said, I have, after speaking with President Claudia Scheinbaum of Mexico,
I have agreed that Mexico will not be required to
pay tariffs on anything that falls under the US MCA agreements.
So all it took was a phone call for him
to say that, and he said the terrorists will be
delayed until April second. So yeah, this is the United States,
Mexico Canada agreement. And I'm not sure what's going to happen,

but he said he did this out of an accommodation
and out of respect for President Shinebaum. Our relationship has
been a very good one and we are working hard
together on the border, both in terms of stopping illegal
aliens from entering the United States and likewise stopping Fantanahl.

What about Canada as far as the tariff's.

Concern, Well, I guess that's still a work in progress.

stuff off the shelves. We're not even going to accept
it here. Yeah, so there's still more complications with Canada.
He's been criticizing their Prime minister and he accused them
of trying to capitalize politically on the tariff that Canadians
have felt. Now, he did initially announce a reprieve for
Mexico but not Canada, but then he did actually grant

one for Canada. Also, he said, believe it or not,
despite the terrible job he's done for Canada, I think
that Justin Trudeau is using the tariff problem, which he
has largely caused, in order to run again for prime minister.
So much fun to watch. But he did walk it back.

her music and it makes her want to fight. Here's

I said has a deeper meaning and I am so

a skit on social media and you know who he

Yes, he didn't want to say he is more important water.

So Pleice Johnson was notorious on the series lock Up
where he basically talked about people when they would come
to jail, you know, if they would sack their pants.
That was like an invitation for him. And basically what
people are saying is this person is a known rapist
and this should not be normalized. Well, here's a little
