Just a little light little tour.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
They were like NADOs and Kids's City, I said.
Speaker 4 (00:27):

No, Mano, they said, it said day.
Speaker 4 (00:30):
I don't want you opening on more.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Man you have less than a month to find your wife.
Speaker 6 (00:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Today is June twenty seventh. The wedding is July twenty sixth.
Speaker 4 (00:38):
Right, I wrote me some vows out and I want
to go over.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
I'm gonna help you with those.
Speaker 7 (00:43):
Please.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
I already feel like it's very poetic.
Speaker 4 (00:47):
It's the right thing.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
I'd be interested to hear hear those. Also, Scarlet is
going to be joining us today. Scar before Fame is
out right now, so make sure you check that out.
I listened to her whole project. It's an EP. But yeah,
are there like seven? I think, yeah, I'm trying to
But anyway, it is really good. She's she's definitely got
that paying game. I like when she's telling her story.
(01:09):
She's a storyteller also. But let's start the show up
with some love and some positivity. Let's shine a light
eight hundred two nine fifty one fifty call us up,
let us know who you want to shine a light on?
Its way up.
Speaker 8 (01:20):
I'm shine, I'm shine.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
Turn your lights on, y'all, light spreading love to those
who are doing greatness. Shine a light on them, Shine
the light on them. It's time to shine a light
on them.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
All right, his way up with Angela. Ye, I'm here
with my guy Maino and it's time to shine a light.
So good to have you here, by the way. And
so today we want to shine a light on Tiffany James.
At the age of twenty five, she turned an investment
of ten thousand dollars in the stock market into two
million dollars in just two years. And now she's helping
(01:55):
other women build wealth through her platform. She has a
platform called Modern Black Girl, and she has over three
hundred thousand members. It's one of the largest investing groups
for black women. So love to see that type of
success at such a young age too, to be able
to do that. That's why they always talk about how
we don't invest in the stock market. I know these
are conversations we've had because that's something that you do too.
(02:18):
But she wants to make the world of trading and
investment accessible to women of color, and in twenty nineteen,
she actually followed her friend's advice. She invested in Tesla
and it's skyrocketed from there. All right, well, who do
you guys want to spread some love to on it's Friday?
Who do you want to shine a light on? Eight
hundred two nine two fifty one fifty deserree? Who do
(02:39):
you want to shine a light on?
Speaker 7 (02:41):
I want to shine a light on my husband, my
beautiful husband of almost four years. He is an amazing
black father, hard work in fella. Okay, well, I just
wanted to sign the light on him, but I don't
know he's appreciated and that we see everything he does.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Oh, that is so sweet. And what does he do exactly?
Speaker 7 (03:05):
So he's actually an assistant manager at home Depot.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
Oh, we'll shout out to him and shout out to
everybody who works at home Depot. We appreciate you for
being knowledgeable because I don't be knowing nothing. I'm like, uh,
I'm trying to so, yes, what a scud? All right, well,
thank you for Collings desiree.
Speaker 7 (03:24):
Yes, thank you for having this segment. We need more
positivity out here.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
Thank you, absolutely, thank you. Have a great day. You
through well, that was shining light eight hundred and two
ninety two fifty fifty. And when we come back, we
got your Yet, I feel like we got to start
with some Diddy stuff today because Mato hasn't been here
and I got to hear your thoughts on these new
lawsuits from Ditty. It's way up.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
Oh, she's about to blow the lid ab off this fot.
Let's get it. Oh yeah, angelus feeling that yet, Come
and get your tea.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
It's way up with any Oh, I know that's right, yeah,
new man. No, And let's get into what's going on
during this Ditty trial. You know, they're doing these closing
arguments and the defense has started their closing arguments arguing
that the prosecution exaggerated its case and the evidence only
showed a swinger's lifestyle. That is their defense. But the
(04:16):
prosecution yesterday was giving their closing arguments that took about
five hours, and they went through two decades of alleged crimes,
saying that he does not take no for an answer.
They also broke down the meaning of racketeering when it
came to Diddy. The concept is simple. When someone commits
a crime as part of a group, they're more powerful
(04:37):
and more dangerous. The Combs enterprise consisted of an inner
circle of loyal security guards and a chief of staff.
Many of that crew's orders were carried out by foot
soldiers who not have known the full scope of their
boss's criminality, but they still played an important role. So
that's the inner circle, that's the racketeering where that comes in.
They did also bring up the Ki Cutty fire bombing
(04:58):
allegedly and also bribery. They described Ditty's alleged one hundred
thousand dollars payment to the hotel security at the Intercontinental
in exchange for what Diddy believe was the only copy
of that video of him assaulting Cassie. They also spent
time discussing sex trafficking charges with both Cassie and the
Jane Doe that was on the stand, and they talked
(05:20):
about love bombing early on in the Jane Doe and
Ditty's relationship to the gradual introduction of sex with xcurse
to the love contract where he was going to pay
her rent for two years, using that deal as leverage
to get her to continue doing these hotel nights, they
bought up sex tapes, and they also said in some
of these videos, because they did show some of those videos,
you could see that she was high on a different drug,
(05:42):
a liquid molly drug. And so they ended that by
pointing out that these women were not freely choosing to
participate in hotel nights. They were constant threats to release
sex tapes, stop paying this woman's rent, ultimately the threat
of a violent outburst. And so these were not free choices,
free will. It's not an adult woman making a free choice.
That was what the prosecution said yesterday. So today we're
(06:05):
watching to see what the defense is going to say.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
Your thoughts, cap, I just seen a man as just
a freaking what he want to do.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
Well, that's what the defense, right, it's gonna argue today.
Speaker 4 (06:18):
I don't see where you're going.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
And I know the phairs and I know how they play,
and I know the narratives that they try to spend
and try to make their case better, and this is
just what they do.
Speaker 8 (06:26):
Well.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
Diddy, in the meantime, has new lawsuits. I will say
both of these lawsuits are by the lawyer Tony Busby.
So already, yeah, already that already. You know, if I
was going to do something now, that wouldn't be the one.
But Diddy's being sued by a man who says that
he was siadomized by him at a house party after
telling him you're about to get that Diddy love. The
man is named Brandon Adams. Adams he said he was
(06:49):
invited to a party in twenty twenty one only to
go and get sexually assaulted. He said these drinks he
had made him dizzy. He found an empty bedroom, collapsed
onto the bed, fell unconscious, and the next thing he
remembers is a hand unbuckling his belt. He said he
was rolled from his stomach onto his side and said,
don't worry, you're about to get a great massage. And
that's when he says he was sodomized. He said he
(07:09):
felt saying and a bile sensation. Well, he said he
was drugged and that's why he was passed out, and
he said he tried to confront Ditty, but security guards
intercepted him and told him he could either play along
and leave the party like nothing happened, or leave the
hard way, and that's why he ended up signing an
NDA and leaving after that, and then there's a woman
who is suing Diddy and his son Justin. She says
(07:32):
that she was lured to the mansion where she was
then gang raped. According to what she's saying in this lawsuit,
in twenty seventeen, she was interested in working in entertainment.
She said she had some marijuana. She feels like it
was laced, and three other men showed up at the
house in masquerade masks, and one of them was Ditty
because Justin kept calling him Pops and she could tell
(07:52):
by his mannerisms. And so that is her allegation. All right,
well that is your Yuti. We'll keep you updated on
what's happening in court today when we come back. About
last night, we got to hear where you've been Maino.
It's way up.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
So about last night I went down.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
It's way up at Angela. Yeah, I'm here with.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
I was in Buffalo for a couple of days.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
Then I went to h Kansas City for my daughter
and she's on traveling volleyball team.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
It felt like her friends thought you were cool.
Speaker 4 (08:28):
They do okay, She's the only one that don't think
they won in their league.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
That's amazing.
Speaker 4 (08:35):
This is the National City.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
UH.
Speaker 4 (08:36):
They won first place in the UH in their division.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
Your daughter is so beautiful, by the way, she's so tall. Yes, yes, yes,
you can tell that you get on her nerves.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
She tells me that I'm embarrassing because I'm out there screaming,
go chier, let's go chill.
Speaker 4 (08:55):
Stop.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
That's nice. So you had a lot of quality time.
Speaker 4 (09:00):
Yeah, then then I have to shoot the Atlanta when
I got back last night.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
Okay, what are you doing in Atlanta?
Speaker 4 (09:05):
I had some business to take here. I had some
things that, you know, tie up.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
Okay, well glad things got tied up. And so I
want to ask you this too, because the wedding is
coming up.
Speaker 4 (09:18):
I got some vows that I've been working on. I
want to read them to you.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
Okay, so we're going to do that.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
Look, I've been exactly. I want to read you these vals.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
I cannot wait to hear. Yes, where are they?
Speaker 4 (09:27):
I got them? I got them on my phone.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
Give me a little taste right now.
Speaker 4 (09:31):
I promised to love you from now into eternity.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
Yeah, that's regular.
Speaker 4 (09:37):
Nah, but it goes deeper than that.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
Last night I was actually doing lip service. Larsia Pippin's
going to be our next guest, so that should be fun.
She would just didn't watch What Happens live. But we
had a good conversation. Yeah, I think she's a little
more protective over how much she reveals about her relationships.
Now that's because of that's you. She called you. You
can't get over that.
Speaker 4 (10:02):
She called your high risk.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
Well she stays with a man wants to marry her,
so risky. Well anyway, and then we also had Conscience
on and he's going to be on in a couple
of weeks, but he has a new project that's actually
out to day pool party, so shout out to him. Consciences. Uh,
definitely got some hit songs. So yeah, all right, Well
when we come back, you know what time it is,
and I want you to set this off. Tell us
(10:28):
a secret, tell us a seriously, we now, Mano, Yeah,
we want to hear these vows. But when we come back,
you guys, we're not gonna judge you. You get to
stay anonymous and you're gonna tell us a secret. Eight
hundred ninety two fifty one fifty. Mano has not been
here for tell Us a Secret for like a month now,
so he needs to hear this eight hundred fifty one
(10:51):
fifty Again, it's a no judgment zone. You are anonymous.
That's eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty. Its
way up.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
This is a judgment freeze all tell us the secret.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
Happy Friday. It's way I put the angela. He is
me and new Man and it's time for you guys
to tell us your secrets. No judgment, no judgment ever.
Eight hundred ninety fifty anonymous. Color you want to tell
us a secret?
Speaker 1 (11:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (11:17):
So one day all was out right. My wife's got
friend called and she thought she I said hello, she
thought she said, hey, what you doing with this food?
I said this is my food? And she said, oh,
I thought this was your wife. I said, no, this
is me. I said, you know what she's doing? She said, uh.
He started playing right, going through the shirt. She came
over to the crib, one thing like to another, and yeah,
(11:39):
she's pregnant.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
Now what your wife's best friend is pregnant? Bout yourself?
Speaker 4 (11:43):
Why would you get a pregnant though? He laughing.
Speaker 8 (11:49):
You know, I know I got some excuse me, but
godd so what does your wife? You know it was good?
Speaker 4 (11:55):
Does your wife know that you got her best friend pregnant.
Speaker 8 (11:57):
My crazy, yo, bro, keep it in a bean.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
Yeah, I had to tell her, man, So what do
you what's.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
She gonna do? What's gonna happen?
Speaker 6 (12:04):
Now?
Speaker 2 (12:05):
What how do y'all move forward?
Speaker 8 (12:07):
You just move forward? I mean, look, I'm a man.
At the end of the day, you feel in my
hands of mind.
Speaker 4 (12:12):
Okay, But I'm gonna tell you what you should do though.
This is this, This is if you really pee. What
you do now is you tell your wife what happened
and she doesn't leave you for what you did. Now
you bring it all together. Now you got one big
happy family. Now, now you bring her your own and
y'all raise and y'all raised that baby as.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
A family as a unit.
Speaker 8 (12:35):
Absolutely.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
Do you think she was always platting on you her
best friend?
Speaker 8 (12:39):
Yeah? I think she was, because listen, it's for God's.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
Daughter's mom, right, Okay.
Speaker 8 (12:44):
And I think I really think I listened. We got
the same phone number, but a couple of numbers off,
So I think she did that purpose man.
Speaker 4 (12:52):
Right, Well, I'm already having it. You already got one
in the oven right now, you got a baby on
the way. You might as her put the families together. Okay, Now,
what is your wife saying that she want.
Speaker 8 (13:01):
To leave you?
Speaker 1 (13:01):
Or you saying she wants to move in?
Speaker 8 (13:04):
Yeah, she wants to move in. She was just like, listen,
this is what it is. I ain't got a prime
moving in and I'm just like, look, I can't do
all that.
Speaker 1 (13:11):
So you gotta do all that?
Speaker 4 (13:12):
What's your what's your wife saying though? My dog?
Speaker 8 (13:15):
Bro? Now, yeah, the wife is like, I don't know.
She said, listen, I ain't I ain't marry you to
share you. Look, after twenty five years, I flipped up
one time.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
One time. You did it more than once.
Speaker 8 (13:25):
Listen, yeah, tell you you. Yeah. After the first time
found that it was already in the other year I did.
I had to go back.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
So are you still sleeping? Are you still sleeping with her?
Speaker 8 (13:35):
No?
Speaker 1 (13:35):
No, I'm not stop now though, no, I know.
Speaker 8 (13:38):
Now there's the time meaning, now is the time?
Speaker 2 (13:41):
All right, we're not gonna okay, well, good luck family.
Speaker 8 (13:45):
Yeah yeah yeah yo, best of luck to go. But
you know what I mean, I pray for it every day. Man,
everything do smooth and sell it. But listen to this though,
bra He went on the pue with my man said,
and he said he had some vows that he was
gonna spit for his wife.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
Yeah, I got him.
Speaker 4 (13:58):
Just stay too real.
Speaker 8 (14:00):
Quick, can I say? Can I say you something?
Speaker 1 (14:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (14:03):
All right, when I when I when I move my
voice from my wife, this is what I said. I said, Yo,
you're magnificens your brilliance, your beauty, your grease, your radiance,
your alliance, your booty.
Speaker 2 (14:14):
Your okay, thank you?
Speaker 8 (14:17):
Right?
Speaker 4 (14:17):
And then you still got a friend friend.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
All right? Well, I was tell us a secret eight
hundred and two ninety two fifty one fifty if you
couldn't get through. And have you ever felt like somebody
just always hating on you? Well, Drake thinks that te
Pain has been that person for him. We'll talk about
it in yet. It's way up, Joe, She's about to blow.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
The lid ab off this. But let's get it. Oh,
Angelus feeling that yee te come and get your tea.
Speaker 2 (14:42):
It's way up at Angela. Yee, I'm here. We're MAINO.
Got his vows ready, right, and let's get into this yet.
So apparently Drake feels like te Pain has been hating
on him. He said, this guy always had a resentment
for me. You can hear it every time he speaks
on my name.
Speaker 8 (14:59):
Well.
Speaker 2 (14:59):
This is in response to t Pain on a recent
episode of the Crash Dummies podcast. He basically said that
Drake gave him some advice but ignored his own advice.
Here's what he said. Here's the crazy thing.
Speaker 4 (15:10):
One thing I learned from Drake, but one thing he
hasn't followed its own words.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
Drake said, I want to be one of the people
that gracefully bow out and not get kicked out.
Speaker 4 (15:18):
Drake is like, no, listen, okay, I got another one.
Speaker 5 (15:20):
I'll check this out.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
Check this out, y'all ain't like that one.
Speaker 4 (15:23):
Okay, let me try one more. And then he's the
person that he said, you know, he didn't want to be.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
And it feels like he's referencing a conversation that Drake
hablo Yati where he said he reached the point in
his music career where the thought of a graceful exit
has crossed his mind. And in that same inter you
he talked about rappers overstaying there welcome. So what do
you think about that? Was that hating? Offset said? The
boys the boy Ish ain't gonna change all that hating
(15:51):
on another grown man who do more numbers than everybody
is diabolical.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
Why would he bow out?
Speaker 8 (15:56):
Now?
Speaker 3 (15:57):
He's still at the top of his game, He's still
at the top of the food check and as fall
as this rap thing is concerned, why would he leave?
Speaker 2 (16:03):
And I saw people also pulling up on social media
at times when t Pain has referenced Drake in the
not so.
Speaker 3 (16:09):
But this only this is the only genre music when
people say you're supposed to leave after a while, like wow,
like rockets don't ever.
Speaker 1 (16:16):
Leave, you know.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
I guess he's saying Drake said that. So he was
using what Drake said. But I don't know that it's
time for Drake to bow out. I think he's still yeah,
and he's still young.
Speaker 4 (16:28):
But he's still at the top of the food chain.
He's still doing things.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
That breaking records right, right.
Speaker 4 (16:35):
Most artists don't ever get to see or do well.
Speaker 2 (16:38):
Speaking of breaking records, Kendrick Lamar and Sizza, their Grand
National Tour, is the highest grossing co headline tour with
over two hundred and fifty six point four million dollars
gross revenue, one point one million tickets sold, and twenty
three shows. And this show is this tour is still
going on. They're going to be continuing in Europe, and
(16:59):
they actually have beaten out Beyonce and jay Z's On
the Run two tour to secure a first place on
Billboards list of the forty biggest co headline tours of
all time. Crazy right, so their number one, Beyonce jay
Z is number two, and then number three on that
list is def Leppard and Motley Crue a heavy Metal
Big Here Tour the Stadium tour back in twenty twenty two.
(17:21):
All right, and that is your ut when we come
back under the radar. These are the stories that are
not necessarily in the headlines. They are flying on the radar,
under the radar, but we definitely want to make sure
you're up on it.
Speaker 1 (17:31):
It's way up position the news that relates to you.
These stories are flying under the radar.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
All right, as way up at the angela Ye, I'm
here with my guy may now. Yeah, oh, ready to
go under the radar well, Jeff Bezos and Lawrence Sanchez.
Today's the day they're supposed to be exchanging their nupt tools.
It was a three day activities in Italy, and you know,
there were all kinds of issues with people protesting, they
ended up having to move things. Now, an attorney who
(17:56):
chose to remain anonymous, says that the couple already have
legally tied the not in the United States, and they
went to Venice for the celebrations, which makes perfect sense
because a lot of times getting married when you leave
out of the country in a foreign country that may
not be valid in the United States, right right, So
allegedly they've already been married, and they have a prenup
(18:17):
that will be enforceable everywhere. The alleged prenup is allegedly
signed already, but the details are still under wraps of
what that is. But a lot of people are in town,
they said, Usher and his wife jen just arrived at
the wedding welcome party. Leonardo DiCaprio, Orlando Bloom, Tom Brady,
Chris Jenner and Corey Gamble, Kendall and Kylie and Kim Kardashian,
(18:37):
all of them are out there now getting ready for
this huge, ten million dollar lavish wedding. All right, now,
this story is going to be interesting to you.
Speaker 9 (18:46):
Now.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
I don't know how true this is, but there's an
easy way to figure out if somebody has a high
body count according to a study, did you make that noise? Now?
According to a why Hington State University study. The simple
way to determine that is, let me ask you a
(19:07):
question back up like this, do you feel like you
have a great upper body strength?
Speaker 7 (19:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (19:17):
Okay, Well that means you reportedly have a high number
of sexual partners. To study, it's assumed that work out. Yeah,
we know. They said a main effect of strength on
mating successes proxy by lifetime number of sexual partners and
current partner status, but not past your number of sexual
partners or age at first. And of course, so if
(19:37):
you can do a lot of push ups without breaking
a sweat, that means you have a high body count.
You don't have a high body I'm saying, like, I.
Speaker 3 (19:48):
Don't think that Navy has a high body count, but
I think he could do a lot of push ups.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
No, you beat him in push ups?
Speaker 5 (19:54):
I did?
Speaker 2 (19:55):
Yeah, so I think it's yeah, you beat both of them.
Yeah so Lanes, No, I'm kidding.
Speaker 4 (20:02):
Maybe I still don't agree with that though.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
All right, now, if we had to ask you, because
this is also according to this study, what is the
ideal number of sexual partners for an individual? What is
the magic number for men the amount of partner in
their life and the amount of partners yes, So it's like, okay,
you just slept with what's the idea? Yea, how many
people in your lifetime that I want you to now
that you want? There's a magic number for men and
(20:27):
a magic number for women. According to a study in
Social Psychological and Personality science, what is that magic number
for men the amount of partners in their lifetime? In
my lifetime, you're just what, yes, what is that number
for you? What's the magic number?
Speaker 3 (20:43):
I don't know because it's too extensive, So it's hi. No,
I'm saying it's like maybe around this study.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
For men, it's four to five partners and there my
life time.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
You look so appalled, and four to five partners in
your whole entire life.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
For women, that number is two to three.
Speaker 3 (21:04):
So what I'm saying like, I'm I'm probably gonna live
to be two hundred and seventy five years old when
I'm telling you this is that out of my whole life.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
That is your under the radar, sch your way up, Mikes.
At the top of the hour, plus, Scarlett is gonna
be joining us her projects. Scar Before fame is out
right now, it's way up.
Speaker 5 (21:20):
She's like the talk like the Angel Jean, like they
Angela Je.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
Man, she's spilling it all. This is yet way up.
Speaker 2 (21:30):
It's way up at Angela Yee, I'm here, Mano's here. Yeah, Man,
I know that's right. Let's get into some of this yet.
So Ghanna has said that he would want to sign
an AI artist. I feel like whenever people do that,
it gets a lot of backlash. He spoke to Will
I Am for the up Rocks cover feature. Here's what
he said, with aim with it, but I'm not hands on.
Speaker 1 (21:51):
You gotta tap in this next five years. It's gonna
be so transformational. It's gonna be full on AI artists
that produce it right in videos.
Speaker 5 (22:01):
I got sign an AI artists fans.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
He also in this interview thinked fans for sticking with him.
He said, and never give up, don't stop, especially when
they want you to stop. Really keep going. That's when
you really push. And I will say people have stuck
by him. He did it the right way. Just kept working.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
The music is good.
Speaker 2 (22:21):
Yeah, the music is good. Stay focused, God in shape,
like you know all right now, Brandy and Monica have
revealed that The Boy Is Mine was based off of
Jerry Springer. They were on the Tonight Show with Jimmy
Fallon and here's what they said the.
Speaker 4 (22:35):
Boy's Mine, which was released in nineteen ninety eight. Brandy,
is it true you got the idea for the song
from watching a Jerry Springer episode.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
I was a huge Jerry Springer fan. One of the
topics was the Boy's Mine, and I'm like, oh my god,
song idea. Let's do this all right? And Jello is
having another baby, Jella Ball, with his current girlfriend. She
posted on social media which I had all the write
words to describe this journey, but I guess if I
(23:02):
had to define it, all I can truly say is
I'm grateful, terrified, anxious, No, she's angry, all of the above.
As a team mom, I was always hesitanting about going
through pregnancy and parenthood. Again, I want to thank my
daughter for being here for me during this process. So
Hid and Nicole, Yes, she is pregnant. I know there
was already speculation about that. I thought, yeah, but I
(23:23):
guess it's confirmed now you know that we know that
and d d G has been granted visitation. Hey, okay,
hold on. What's going yet? Don't curse please, you know
he's a professional. I feel like Norri's journey into radio.
I feel like we did a lot together when I
was as serious. Absolutely, I got some I got somebody videos.
(23:49):
Not for real though, because even back then everybody was like,
Norton needs his own show. Yes, yes, And I got
your own network.
Speaker 5 (23:54):
Yes, yes, I got her own network. Let's do it.
Speaker 4 (23:57):
God, we had a we had a lot going on
a long time ago about that.
Speaker 8 (24:03):
This is.
Speaker 2 (24:05):
All right, We're got bara, we come back. It's also
a new music Friday. No, are you going to join
this for new music Friday? Well, let's do it. It's
way up.
Speaker 1 (24:15):
Let's go yeah, let's get it. Let's go way up
with Angela. He is back to set off your work day.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
What's up? His way up for Angela? Yee, I'm here
with my guy Mato. What a pleasant surprise. And are
is in the building?
Speaker 5 (24:30):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (24:31):
And I just of course got to mention you got
your own network.
Speaker 5 (24:34):
Yes, yes, I got my own network.
Speaker 9 (24:36):
Drink Chapter Network, me e f N, Randy Aka and bigs,
you know, Big Rock and Feller. We all came together.
We signed Memphis Bleak. We got bleak, his his his
already going up. It's doing great. Let's do it, no controversy,
you know what I'm saying. And then jay Z just
co signed that he could have source money on So
a lot of people don't like this is the first
(24:57):
time source money is gonna be like if people want
to know that early rock in front of the days,
we got Angela Simmons were wrapping hers up. We just
did her on Run Champs. We got a couple of
we got a couple of more dings that we want
to do. Everybody whose side to us, they own their
own material.
Speaker 8 (25:12):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 9 (25:12):
We're just pretty much I don't want to I don't
want to preach what I'm not living, you know what
I'm saying. So this is how I live, and if
I do my own business, I have to.
Speaker 5 (25:19):
Do that for you, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 9 (25:20):
I just want people put people in position because right now,
this is the first time hip hop is going to
control hip hop media.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
And listen, and we got to mention this viral moment.
Yes swiss all the time that comes across my timeline
where I was guest hosting with you. This was in
New York it was a hot day because I remember
I was sweaty. I was like, I want to go
home and change. You were like, nah, just come, it's
no big deal. We interviewed Swiss and here's what happened
in life.
Speaker 3 (25:45):
We gotta face out poison in order to poise on oh,
because you know was born from your mother and you
are poised son.
Speaker 2 (25:54):
Understand else all, it goes viral for a few different things.
Number One, people are like, what is he talking about?
Speaker 5 (26:00):
No one knows what he's talking about. I don't think
he knows what he's talking about.
Speaker 2 (26:02):
Number Two, I just kind of looked away and laughed
a little.
Speaker 5 (26:05):
That's hard.
Speaker 8 (26:14):
Why do you do that?
Speaker 1 (26:15):
I get?
Speaker 5 (26:16):
I get so a lot of people don't know with Swiss.
Speaker 9 (26:20):
Swiss had through out the record that day with Drake
and Bust, that thing got tooken down that same like
that it.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
Went out and when it was way up, way out,
way out.
Speaker 9 (26:33):
That record got you raised. So I guess Swiss had
just got the call like Yo, Drake and them people
who took the record down, Woo woo. So Swiss comes
on our show and he starts drinking and he goes hand. Yeah,
we were smart enough to know that we have a
relationship with Drake. There was people asked us to take
things out. We said cool, we did it. But then
(26:55):
two weeks later Swiss said the same exact thing on
Live with Buster Robs soused to regretit than that, because
sometimes when you edit something, you said it in your heart,
but so you you want to fix it, but you
didn't fix it because you edited.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
It, and that I had been him wanting to edit it.
Sometimes your people too conscious and so they're like, can
we take this part out. He was a little tipsy
when he was talking about it, because, as I recall,
he was saying he did fancy you know, yeah, for Jake,
and then he owed him a favor in return, and.
Speaker 5 (27:27):
He never did.
Speaker 9 (27:29):
And he never did was explaining that, but then he
kept drinking and then that's when this poison thing came
because he tried to like make sense afterwards after he.
Speaker 6 (27:37):
Was like and by the way, at the moment, he
didn't make sense to me, I was like, it was
and then when I look back at it, I was like,
oh my god, Ryc.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
It wasn't even just like, oh, that's how you've made
the nasty face.
Speaker 9 (27:54):
Like because genius is they get away with a lot
of things, like if we didn't have the internet, he
would have got clearly that a moment because you don't
doubt a genius, and you know, Swiss is a genius,
you know what I'm saying, So like he's a real genius.
Speaker 5 (28:08):
But boy, was that not a genius moment.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
But listen, you gotta come back and really.
Speaker 5 (28:12):
Have a real We gotta drink drink crazy.
Speaker 2 (28:20):
Yeah, I love sockey.
Speaker 5 (28:21):
Yes, I'm a heavily soaky guy.
Speaker 2 (28:23):
Thank god, we appreciate you, Nori. And again, I just
had such great memories and moments with you, so I
can imagine anybody on your network is gonna understand doing
business with you is like it's fun, but it's also
business trustworthy on the business side. All right, well, thank
you so much and our e for dropping by surprise.
And when we come back, speaking of Swiss, Scarlett is
(28:45):
going to be joining us. She's got her project that's
out right now, scar Before fame is way up.
Speaker 5 (28:51):
It's gonna turn me up.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
Here we go upgain, this is way up with Angela.
Speaker 2 (28:56):
What's up? Its way up with Angela? Yee and back again,
and we got Scarlet in the building. Looks up y'all.
The congratulations Scar before Fame is out right now and
it's racking up those numbers. You got a Little Wayne feature,
you got a Marry Day Blige feature, you got an
Anthony Hamilton, a Honey Baby, a Skiller Baby. I mean
(29:17):
that is just an all star lineup. How does it
feel knowing that all these people.
Speaker 8 (29:22):
Is on it for you?
Speaker 10 (29:23):
I just feel so grateful that all of these amazing
and talented artists just was able to just bless my
tracks like that.
Speaker 2 (29:31):
I just na say, you're talking about getting some media training.
I got to hear about this.
Speaker 10 (29:38):
People may not notice, but I have anxiety when I
do like interviews, and like, excuse.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
My leguage, c.
Speaker 10 (29:45):
People don't like, don't notice that, but I do have
anxiety because I like, sometimes I always feel like when
I'm at an interview, I have to answer the question
the best or the perfect way, like I can't make
no mistakes, Like it's like a test, you know what
I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
I'm like, no, so I just didn't want to. I
think like that part of why people like you, though,
is because they feel like relatable, because there's no such
thing as no mistakes in life right now, I'm talking
to Scarlet her projects, scar before fame is out, and
so now it's a different level of people paying attention
to every single move that you make and everything. Like
something that you might think is like no big deal
ends up going viral, you know.
Speaker 10 (30:19):
Like freaking I did a freaking video some my new
track Melanin, and it had bananas in the background, and
people thought I was calling black people monkeys.
Speaker 4 (30:28):
I was like, what what are you talking about?
Speaker 2 (30:31):
All the beautiful melanated people. I can't do nothing wrong.
I can't do nothing right in the media, can I.
I think it was Joe Budden. They were like, she
keeps putting stuff in the background in her videos, Like,
you know what.
Speaker 10 (30:41):
Me and Joe Budden's gonna have to have a tool.
I do understand what he was saying, and I didn't
take it like offensive, like he was just giving me
constructive criticism. But to be honest, y'all knew me from glitsies,
holding up hot galls and rapping about rab rabbing using
a hot dog as a microphone. So it's like, come on, now,
I'm just being creative. I'm in my element. I'm not
(31:02):
thinking too much. On look, like I feel like a
lot of artists they want to look perfect. It looked
like they made it and look like I'm just who
I am, you know what I'm saying, And this that's
just how I create, and I get how it could
look on the outside, but I'm just being myself.
Speaker 2 (31:15):
I remember there was also a time when you uh,
you know, being sexy Scarlet too, and sometimes people feel like,
why are they making her do that? Like someone's making
you be sexy, but that's also you doing that for yourself.
Speaker 10 (31:27):
Yeah, no one's making me do nothing like you know
what I'm saying, Like, I want to look sexy.
Speaker 2 (31:31):
I want to look sexy.
Speaker 10 (31:32):
I want to look like a tomboy.
Speaker 2 (31:32):
I want to look at tomboy.
Speaker 10 (31:34):
So when y'all see me in the Bailey suit, maybe
it's because I'm at the pool or I'm at the beach,
Like what do y'all want me to just wear tiens
and big north faced jackets all so much?
Speaker 2 (31:43):
They do know it's crazy. Scarlet is here with me.
This is her return to Way Up with Angela Yee.
Her ap scar before Fame is available right now, but
we got more with her when we come back. It's
way at.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
Everybody, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yee.
Speaker 2 (31:59):
It's what y'all and waiting folks, Oh.
Speaker 1 (32:02):
You're tapped in the way up with Angela yee.
Speaker 2 (32:04):
What's tapp is way up with Angela yee. And I'm
here with my girls Scarlet with her projects Guard before
Fame out. Now all right, now let's talk about this
song Runaway Love. The writing on that, the storytelling on
that was phenomenal, and then getting Mary J. Blige on
there was just the icing on the cake. And obviously
this is also a playoff of the Ludicrous track as well,
so talk to me about that.
Speaker 10 (32:25):
It was a freestyle and I was on my way
to shoot the video because I was doing a lot
of freestyles, and I sent it to Swiss.
Speaker 2 (32:31):
I say, Yo, Swiss'm about to shoot this right now.
Speaker 10 (32:33):
I'm on my way. He said, stop the call, turn
around and re record it. It's going on the album
on the mixtape. I was like what, but I already
paid the camera man and he was like, turn the
car around. You're putting this on the mixtape. This is
too hard and the Yeah, So thank you again to
Mary J.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
Blige.
Speaker 10 (32:51):
She came to the music video shoot and she's just
like She's like a big sister like Auntie.
Speaker 2 (32:56):
Like you know, she just she don't like that, don't
do that. Oh sorry, you know how, you know how
some of us be like he was just the home
girl that I really liked.
Speaker 1 (33:06):
My bad, Mary, My bad.
Speaker 2 (33:09):
People reacted to that so strongly, and it's like a
mini movie. Is this something that Scarlet like just came
up with, like a fictional story or is this based
off of anything?
Speaker 10 (33:18):
So the Runaway Love track is a mixture of my
story and just stories put together.
Speaker 1 (33:24):
Lisa.
Speaker 10 (33:25):
That was just a story of like other people's lives
that I'll either see no movies or maybe had a
friend that was going through something like domestic violence. I
see that a lot, suicide awareness, all of those things.
So I just really wanted to do like what Ludacris
did in The Runaway Love where he was just highlighting
different stories of people's lives. But the Jasmine story, it
(33:45):
was my story.
Speaker 2 (33:46):
Right now, I'm talking to Scarlet her project scy before
Fame is out that people relate to you so well.
Another thing about you that had people up in arms
was the scar. They were like, you had said that
you were gonna get rid of the scar. On your
lip and people were like, no, don't do it. Listen,
he said, you word if it's like.
Speaker 10 (34:04):
Listen, I love the scar on my lip, but sometimes
I have like, you know, battles with myself, like I'm
gonna just get rid of it. It just be just
start fresh, starting new. I don't need this scar no more.
But it just reminds me how strong I am when
I came through. And it's not like me looking at
the scar and seeing the bad side no more. I'm
seeing the victory now. Every time I look in the
mirror and looking at my scar, and I'm like, I
(34:26):
can't get rid of this. This is like what made
me like who I am today.
Speaker 2 (34:30):
So I'm keeping it now. You open up the album
with that banger with you and little Wayne on it
path that talk to me about how this little way
and feature happened.
Speaker 10 (34:39):
The pop that record, y'all hear right now sounds nothing
like the first pop that version. It was like some
freaky pop that Swiss is like, nah, we don't want
to go that round. A week later, i'm driving right
I get a call from Swiss. Swiss like, yo, check
out what I just sent you. I check it, I
play it right, I'm like, okay, this is the record,
pop that and get quiet. And then I heard the
light of flick and you know what that mean when
(35:00):
the lighter flip. And then I heard way verse. I
almost crossed the car.
Speaker 2 (35:04):
We almost crashed.
Speaker 4 (35:05):
We went crazy.
Speaker 2 (35:06):
It was like, Yo, this is crazy. That's amazing. Tope
is like your fairy godfather.
Speaker 10 (35:12):
He is telling you real life, like he changed my
life so much.
Speaker 2 (35:17):
I really just appreciated, and he is for sure in
your corner at all times. All right, Well, so many
blessings to you, scar before fame is out right now,
people have amazing things to say about it. It's got
so much energy. Congratulations. So you know I'm always in
your corner cheering for you and rooting you on. So
I cannot wait to see what's next.
Speaker 9 (35:34):
Thank you.
