Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Will You Accept This Rose? A production of iHeartRadio.
Thank you. I've actually written it out again. Now that
I know it's not five five weeks, I can write
it out again. I wrote three hours of three year's
five and I was like, I can't read all. Now
it's only one and I love you got the I'm

(00:31):
enjoying it.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Now.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
Welcome to another episode of Week Except This Rose. My
name is Ard Marine, coming to you from my bougie
hotel room in hot Atlanta, Georgia. Honey with me today
it's raining men, hallelujah. A man who is he is
the captain of the podcast and he just did a
live show at Dinash d typewriter of Doug Loves Movies

(01:02):
with two of the all stars of our show that
you can still watch on lives so you can still
purchase and watch the stream of it with Paget Brewster
and Jerry Trainer playing Doug Loves Movies Ladies and gentlemen.
Comedian podcaster Icon fashion Plate, lover of June squib at

(01:22):
the podcast, Doug Menson. Yeah, Doug, I have questions for
you in a second.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Okay, okay, did you stay Dynasty typewriter.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Dot com Yup, Dynasty, typewriter dot Com done it, and
then you can look for If you search Doug loves
Movies and you put in Paget Brewster, you'll be able
to find it and you guys can watch it.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
You buy the stream, Yes, thank you?

Speaker 1 (01:48):
And was it a good one?

Speaker 2 (01:50):
No, it's terrible, people pay to watch it. No, it
was super fun. You know, Jerry, Just imagine Jerry in
a competitive environment. That's gold.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
I find him so delightful. I find him so charismatic
and funny. I heard you ask him to do stand
up with you in San Diego. I hope he does.
I can't tell you how funny he is. And and
it's just getting Babe burnt out of the stand up
nest because he's so fucking funny and his set was
really good, Like and I wouldn't stand up is so

(02:23):
hard that I wouldn't push somebody like he has a set.
He just needs to like commit and do it because
it's fucking hilarious. So I think he said yes to you.
I'm not sure.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Yeah, it's a ways down the road. I know he's
really baby stepping it right now. And uh, I don't
you know, I don't want to push him too hard,
but like, yeah, that's a great thing though, is if
I'm doing a show, I can put anybody on for like,
hey watch this person for five minutes, you know, and
it's a kind of a safe environment because it show
with you know, other comedians. And he's not all on.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Him, no, and he's fucking I mean, says really funny.
It's where he did a really good job so.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Well, he says he's throwing that material out and writing
new stuff. So I don't know, crazy like a comedian who.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
He is is funny. I'm sure whatever he does will
be hilarious. Also, I didn't know what was interesting about him,
and he didn't talk about He didn't talk about this
on the podcast, but I'm sorry. In his stand up,
but his dad was like a fighter pilot, Like he's
a he's a military kid, and his dad was like

(03:31):
top gun. Isn't that crazy?

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Now? I really understand the competitiveness.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Isn't that fun?

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Me?

Speaker 1 (03:38):
And he was like a theater kid and his dad
was like top gun.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
Military people love it when their children are theater kids.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Like basketball is.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Also like because he looks like he could have been
like a bro. But he wasn't, which is like so interesting.
Also with this, just say, and this was even before
it was trendy to write for women. The best, the
best TV writer, a straight man, so so empathetic. This

(04:13):
guy writes so well for the female voice. And he
has his script that he's taking out right now in Hollywood,
and I want everybody to send him good vibes because
this guy can fucking write. Oh he's such a good writer.
He's so funny, and he writes with heart and bite.
So that's the combin. You can't go wrong with that combo.
Ladies and gentlemen, we adore him. Bill Koflor.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Hell.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Hell, there's nothing Hollywood loves more than an old white
writer right now now, an old white guy writer.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
He don't say that about yourself. Be a champion. Be
a fucking champion, dude.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Why not you?

Speaker 3 (04:49):
I always thought self deprecation was attractive, but not today, devil.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
No. No, you're Serena Williams, your center court, You're Wimbledon.
You're a champion.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Why do I write women so well?

Speaker 2 (05:01):
What? How?

Speaker 3 (05:02):
I don't understand how it happens. I don't get it.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
You know what, you're softy, you have a big heart.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
I guess that's it. That's it. I have a daughter,
I have a wife. It rubs off.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
There's a lot of gross girl dads. You're not one
of them. Also also with us. Okay, Banana's out. Banana
is working in New York and then she's going to
go see I think Death Becomes Her? Is that what
she's saying she's seen?

Speaker 3 (05:25):
Oh, Marco. Marco's a musical.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
I heard it was really good Seeing Death Becomes Have
you seen it, Doug?

Speaker 2 (05:33):
Yeah, my friend Julia wrote Co wrote the lyrics and music.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
Did you love it?

Speaker 2 (05:39):
And I saw it all the way back when they were,
you know, doing performances in Chicago before they went but
they went to New York, so we saw it early
and then I do want to see it again someday
because it's it's extremely entertaining.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
Okay, my friend, my friend, who doesn't even like musicals,
loved it. So I think she's there. I think that's
where Banana is. And oh also okay, So Banana and
I are doing a live show at Union Hall. Guess
who's guess who is committed bachelorette Charity is doing it
August twenty. Her fiance from the show Dot is doing it,

(06:23):
Jack Key. I've also spoken on the phone to Hakim,
who wants to do it. I've left a message with
a woman from Warner Brothers begging her to allow hakm
So if we get permission, we will have Charity Dotton
and Hakim and Banana and I are dressing real trashy.

(06:45):
We're dressing like Love Island contestants. It's only fifteen dollars
in New York City. There's like fifteen tickets left, so
get your ticket now. It's Wednesday, August twentieth, from seven
thirty to ten at Union Hall. Go to Union Hall
n hy dot com meet Banana.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
You can't get any You can't get anything for fifteen
dollars in New.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
York nothing literally nothing, not even Chipotle.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
You can't buy ten dollars. You can't buy ten dollars
for fifteen dollars.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
You can't buy ten dollars to fifteen dollars. Aluric Marine
will probably be there, Jack, he's the horny poll inspector.
But then Charity Dotton and maybe Hakeem Katie Money, kt
Money Levine. Hello, my friend, what's new in the animal world.

Speaker 4 (07:24):
Well, the shelters are still full, so they still need
adopts and fosters everywhere, literally everywhere in New York, especially
right now.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
Dude, I gotta tell you Mittence is with me and
she was a shelter cat, and you literally you can't
go wrong with an animal, even if you're just fostering,
even just faster. Okay, overall, I want to just turn
over and say, I, Oh my god, who's that dog's.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
This is my friend. I'm dog sitting.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
Oh cuty, take right on.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
And Katie was talking about it.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
That it's a cute dog, said.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Dog's name. His name's Rio and he's a uh oh
like Chihuahua and wiener dog.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
What's the doxeni.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
You're well behaved cheweeny as you could see.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
Oh yeah, far is.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
One of my dream dogs. I would love to have
a Chewini.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
Yeah, he's good. He hasn't he doesn't have a bar
hardly ever.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
It's good because dosins are not well behaved, so that
gene must have.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
He's really cute.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
I love that guy.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
That's a great look a dog.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
Yeah, we just take care of him when his owner
is a stand up comedian as well, so we help
out and take him sometimes.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
Him Alan I wanted to say, you know this headline
with this and then we can take it. Here's why
I'm here's what I love. The surprise thing that I
love about this season him because there's a lot of
things I don't love, But what I do love about
this season is I love that the hottest commodity on

(09:10):
the beach, commodity on the beach, and not even an
ironic way, a sincere way, is Gary. And he went
from being kind of the goofy buddy, the friend who
just was like friend zone, like an actual hot lady lady,
like three person lady fight kind of over Gary with

(09:33):
like kind of to the hottest gals of the beach
because he's grounded, he listens, he's not a player. He's fun,
he's willing to lead them on. He's flirty. But I
feel like I like this surprise of our romantic hero

(09:55):
is Gary, and that that's my favorite part of the season.
I'm gonna let Doug we none of us. We all
thought April was gonna be the hatty bubbolattie. She's trying
too hard. She's a cutie pie. She's a cutie pie.
It seems like people like Faith and now Leslie, Leslie
and now faith running up on the horse. But overall,

(10:18):
how are you feeling about the addition of the Goldens?

Speaker 2 (10:21):
It has fixed a show that was broken. I mean
it's still broken, but you know what I mean. It's
like did they duck taped it nicely? You know, they've
made some interesting changes. I missed the corniness of the
opening intros of all the characters.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
It's very slick.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
Yeah, now it's slick except for you know, good old
Jack was just hanging out having a hamburger. He wouldn't
even stand up for his intro It's beautiful.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
Who stuck his tongue so deeply far down April's throat? Unsolicited?
So problematic, old white man, so gross. Okay, Bill, how
are you feeling about the season.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
It's a lot, it is, it's it's it's sensory overload.
And I feel like the almost throwing anything they can
against the wall from all not just Love Island, all
sorts of different shows. Yes, try to get Can I
have a question first, because you guys would know, I
would assume like is it working or more people watching?
Or is there a younger demographic?

Speaker 2 (11:19):
I don't know what the numbers are, Yeah, but it's
it's really like they sat down and consciously like just
very much stole the style of all like the Netflix
dating shows. Yeah, but I switch shot and edited and
more more emphasis on like uh pop, you know, poppy music.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
Yeah, it looks like Peacock, it looks like Love Island.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
It looks like Yeah, I'm I'm I'm troubled. I'm troubled
by that because if it ain't broke, but they must
have thought it was broke.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
I guess I think they lost the hotel. I think
there might have been I think they got kicked out
of the hotel. We're gonna have Wells as a guest
in a few weeks. Oh love them in person, just
throwing it out there.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
Yeah, but look, it's still I can answer your question.
It still has the elements that I like and I
and I and yeah, the Goldens. How often can you
say a group of septagenarians saves the day?

Speaker 2 (12:13):
Yeah, party, They're not like, oh my god, what are
they doing here? They're like the reason. It just makes
everybody happier, you know, Like, yeah, I feel like there's
less likely to be blow ups. There's still might be
some down the road, because it feels like they've.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
Integrated well with some actual friendships. Like it feels like
we have April and Cat. Look I again, I still
give Cat most improved. I felt for her this tweek
on her side, I feel she got mean girled. First
of all, we'll get to we'll get there. Dale is
Dale's taking the lead of like prob these guys, these guys,

(12:51):
the young guys. No, it could also be the way
they're editing it that they're not showing us, like we
have seen nothing really of Spencer and Jess, who seem
to be happily falling in love. Like nothing we see.
So Sewn has behaved. Okay, he is what he is, Sean,
I mean, he's he is what he is. But the

(13:11):
other guys have just been pretty bad.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
Don kind of like Steve Rogers. It feels like he
just got a shot or something and became got that
body because it does not match his like, you know,
a personality. Yeah, you know, he doesn't seem like a
Jim Rat. You know, he seems more like you know,
a nerdy you know, uhich.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
Which guy you're talking about?

Speaker 1 (13:38):
Sean? Oh?

Speaker 3 (13:39):
Sean, Yeah, I mean I I look, you can't blame
someone for feeling the way they're feeling with God what's
her name who left the up Jill. You know, I felt,
you know, it felt like he used her a little bit.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
So they're doing is setting up Jill. They're just like
lay waiting for her to slip and and and cry
because you know, they keep bringing her back to these
things and she's just not it's just not right. You know,
she's not a stupid weightlifter. Guy is not going to
fall for Jill.

Speaker 1 (14:10):
Jill. I feel like Jill is high school me and
I have really I feel very protective of Jill and her.
I was like the funny friend to everybody that was
like never considered as like a romance and you and
like you're fully aware of it, like you know, when
you're invisible and they just want your friends and they
like kind of have you like they you know, it's

(14:32):
I've been that role before and it feels really bad.
It just does. And you try to be a good sport.
And she tried to leave and we'll get there. Okay,
before we start going, Katie, how did you feel about
this week five?

Speaker 4 (14:45):
I mean, yeah, like all the dudes, like especially Dale
and then Jeremy too, I don't really understand what happened
with Brian and Paris, Like that was.

Speaker 5 (14:55):
Confusing, right, Like I don't get that. I mean, we'll
get to it.

Speaker 1 (14:59):
And jo Jonathan was bad. I rewatched it. His his
spitting during the day.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
Is spitting out girls.

Speaker 1 (15:08):
Not like that.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
I get confused and midst I haven't dating in a
long time.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
Dude, that was crazy. I was like, how handsome do
you think even the most even like Timothy Shallow may
like if you're going okay, well we'll get there. Okay.

Speaker 4 (15:22):
So also, speaking of Jonathan, we have now had a
like what like a fourth woman. Just be like, I
don't know if emotionally we're connecting at all. Like he's
unable to like connect with these women.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
It's so weird.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
Well I will say this looking at the date and
we'll get there. But like you see what I think.
I really think it starts with our wonderful person who
sent us the email last week, who won the book.
I think he thinks he's so handsome when he did
the face wrap reveal as his big entrance on Jen season,
he came in in the Mummy rap that I think

(15:58):
he thinks his face is like Michelangelo, like carved it
out of because remember he came in for a week.
I feel like, I think, because he seems like a
nice guy, that he's actually so into his own looks
that he just sits back and like the only time

(16:21):
he sprung to life was when she said the word attractive,
and so you see I'm attractive, Like that was the
only time you leave the conversation.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
I think that guy is like that's I think what
you're saying is right. It's kind of like what I
was taking about Sean, Like in his case, he's got
that face, but he you know, he doesn't know how
to be cool or or even takes takes simple cues
from people. In the first one of the first times
we saw him this season, he had a big piece
of fucking deodorant that's gross, and he just like puts

(16:54):
his arm down. It doesn't doesn't excuse himself to go
get that thing out of his arm pit. And then
when he during this other date, she's like giving him
a side on like that is so gross, and then
he keeps doing it like she's giving it that if
he stopped doing that, they can have a nice date.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
No, I haven't rewatched it. The date almost made me
the maddest of the entire episode and the date. Really
watching back was pretty enraging. So here we go, faith
rides up on the horse and she said, I'm ready
to be the hoe of the show and all that
goes with it. Unfortunately there was no men there. Yeah,

(17:34):
take Patty on her date.

Speaker 3 (17:37):
That would be the way to get rid of all
did not have hoes anymore.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
Just get rid of all men, dude, that's urtanical, Like
the fucking purity ring is just get rid of all
the guys. She And how about like nobody wants Keith?
Like Keith is not an option? Like I think his
personality must be such a dud that he goes could
I watch it? Was like Faithful. I think we thought

(18:04):
Keith was gonna be like the hot commodity. But I
think Keith is so up putting that she would rather
take Kathy horse riding. Think she'd rather wait for Captain
Kim than even just dare to take the only.

Speaker 3 (18:19):
Man that is Keith, and Keith's taking a back seat
to Kim. I mean that is that is really.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
Saying number three? We were way off you guys.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
How can we did we watch the same Golden Bachelor
Red last year, like everybody loved Keith, like people have
personality transplants, Like what the hell's going on?

Speaker 1 (18:39):
Is like didn't she what happened with Joan and Keith?
Katie wasn't there? Like didn't he start off strong? And
there was like no, they're there because he drove him
with that station. Wager was like, I will love to
I would love to foosball with you, like and then
what I don't?

Speaker 4 (18:55):
I mean, like, you know, sometimes somebody like is great
on paper and then you meet and they're really nice
person but it's just like Nope, but you don't click,
you know, and maybe none they're just not clicking Keith.

Speaker 1 (19:07):
Keith might be what my friend is. Her theory is
when a guy's too tall that it diffuses them that
their personality is tall. They're just like I'm tall. He
might be like nice and tall, Doug, what do you say?
Why not Keith?

Speaker 2 (19:20):
In conjunction with production, his his instinct was to stumble
in during his intro and oh man, you know what
I mean? Like, so he's he's he's definitely a kind
of a wacky guy. Yes, probably a bit you know,
too much on the everybody but they but he's enough
fun to like hang out with at the bar. So

(19:42):
that's why he's still.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
He's like a guy's guy. Maybe he's drinking a lot.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
I am surprised that I am surprised at his outfit
in the bird dands. He didn't rebound with that. I'm
surprised that that didn't bug shot the top of the.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
What did he say in his T shirt?

Speaker 3 (19:58):
Ready to flock dude? But Sean also did. I wondered
if they both came up with it together and they
fought over who got to say it, and they just
couldn't you know, they both had had.

Speaker 1 (20:07):
Too and acknowledged Kim's out Kim was too into it.
He seems like somebody who's been so pent up takes
one to Berlin and goes fucking nuts.

Speaker 3 (20:18):
He's very creative, Kim, you know, any kind of creative outlet, singing.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
The poem, the poem, worry about his heart like him.
He was really you know, he was really being like
intense when he was dressed up like a bird.

Speaker 1 (20:35):
He was really too into it, Katie, Kim is a bird.

Speaker 5 (20:39):
I really, I honestly like disliked the whole bird thing
a lot. I felt like it was really scary. It
was scary, like I was like, it was like a
horror movie and I disliked.

Speaker 1 (20:50):
Hey, I feel like they were trying to be white
Lotus in Thailand the night that all the that the
short kids the acid and made now.

Speaker 3 (20:57):
His brother Yeah, okay, the bird thing. I'm sorry, but
but all right, look.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
It's it's a beauty paradise. It's sort of like it
sort of organized chaos, which goes along with how my
brain works. Okay, So then Dale up top. Dale starts
off apologizing for being an absolute trash bag during the
last row ceremony, saying that they were raised differently, saying
I dedit it, I debit it, I debit it. And

(21:27):
then he's like I and I again most improved vip.
I'm gonna give one of my favorite gals to Kat.
I'm i, you know, a fresh take fourth time as
a charm. I feel like she looks beautiful. She looks
very much like her upcoming competitor who's coming in Alicia.
When they were kind of like having a cold lady

(21:50):
chat at each other at the end, I felt for her.
I feel like she's keeping her composure and she's absolutely
getting played by Dale, who turns out to be a
think quite arrogant and not a nice guy.

Speaker 3 (22:04):
Not a nice guy, No, not a horrible guy, but
a bad guy. What's so horrible?

Speaker 2 (22:10):
He just dug He just he thought. Every time she's
got a concern, he's like, well, that's not my concern.
You know, I did it it, I'm moving on. Let's
move on. He always wants to move on when they
haven't even discussed it. Really, Like, you know, she can
have she can have second thoughts and want to discuss
something a second time, like I who.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
Had sort of a temper last year. Like I feel
like she's having her own back, not being a pushover,
but like I feel like she's maintaining her I feel
like she feels more grounded and like making her case
from a place of strength. You know, I'm proud of
whatever therapy she's done. I feel like it's she has
some tools to express herself more, Katie.

Speaker 4 (22:57):
Especially because Dale like literally just keeps eying to her,
and it's like there's shit on camera. You're miked up, bro,
my god, Like he's a little kissing. So like she's
handling it very well considered.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
And she also brought up she also brought up the
background thing, which like, I know she has a rocky
relationship with her mom. I think she might not even
have any kind of speaking relationship to her mom, and
and like, you know, that's hard for anybody, and like,
and I feel like she's open about it on air.
He'd done no research. But so they come to sort

(23:32):
of a nice place at the beginning of the episode
and they're kissing. They're kissing, She's happy they're kissing. Then
Dale goes and does a body shot off of April
that enrages Kathy. Kathy does not want these kind of shenanigans.
What did you think of that, Doug?

Speaker 2 (23:48):
You know Kathy, I mean I think she'd be next
in line tohoul to have Dale do that to her.
You know, Like I don't be you know, I think
she's acting up because just because it's Kathy, you know,
she's she's always got something to say about everything.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
She did one well she did, she did one off
of one of her own age, done off of her
by Bail. April has a bang and bond at anything.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
Production just talked her into being mad about that, like that,
I can't imagine that, Like she really.

Speaker 1 (24:25):
Well, they had a feud off air and now she's
like jealous and maybe a little she might be. Also,
don't forget she's day drinking. Probably she's buzzed and jealous
for the airtime.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
Oh and heats the heat stroke must be to take
take playing.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
With I think she I think she was angry because
production tried to talk Kathy into doing a body shot
off a horse.

Speaker 6 (24:47):
She was not.

Speaker 3 (24:49):
That they would even ask her that.

Speaker 1 (24:52):
So Jonathan is making the creepiest mask out of an
old leaf that Leah goes and talks to um. She
takes it as a present and they both live in
LA they've met before. He's the only available man.

Speaker 4 (25:07):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
Nancy meanwhile comes up a stun gun at any age gorgeous, beautiful?
Did Nancy self eliminate last time? Wasn't there like a
bridal dress? I remember her breaking down because her husband
had died. Didn't she cry in the bridal dress photo shoot?

(25:29):
I think she did. I think Joan's self eliminator, but
I don't know. Maybe Nancy just didn't. But Nancy's a babe.
And Nancy shows up and they all have their date
cards and Nancy pulls the stud of the season Gary
and Leslie is very upset. Now, if we remember Leslie,
Leslie can't handle the game part of this very well.

(25:50):
She didn't do well last time with the gaming aspect
of it. Nor I probably wouldn't either, but she really
doesn't do well. Dog do you remember that? Yes, she
they kept showing her on her underwear, which felt kind
of like a below deck move, and I was surprised
they were doing it to the goldens. But I gotta say,

(26:12):
all the goldens keeping it tight, shout out.

Speaker 2 (26:14):
Out of her body clearly like she she works hard
at it. But uh, Gary is uh, he's just say
he just says yes, and I would love to now, yeah,
just because he you know, he just having a good
time going on these dates like uh, you know, I

(26:35):
don't think he's really committed to anybody at this point.
And there was nothing for her to be that upset about, because, uh,
you know, he tends to come back from the dates
and still talk to the women that you know have
also been in his circle.

Speaker 1 (26:49):
Well, so they come back, they go on their day.
Let's talk about their date. We'll talk about Gary's date
before we take a break. Gary goes on a date
and they give him kecal oh my god. And he
has a by the way, he wants to ask on
the date. He's eating a case ada and she goes,
finish your bite before before we chat, and he chewed
for the minutes. Now relatable, I eat big bites. Relatable,

(27:14):
But watching it on camera, I was like, Arden takes
smaller bites, take smaller bites on I've even done that
on camera where I had to like eat now like
in this in this show I'm filming, there was like
a food saying and I shoved in such a giant
piece of like like Chinese who I couldn't get. I

(27:34):
just like, I don't know. I took a I couldn't
swallow it before the line and I and I relate
to Gary. And then so Gary goes on the date,
but he does it again. They're they're in a ceremony
and they're basically it feels like they gave the mayahuasca,
even though they're saying it's just kick out.

Speaker 3 (27:53):
He did something chocolate bug.

Speaker 1 (27:58):
He took like fifteen gulps of it, and she was
kind of it was a lot.

Speaker 3 (28:03):
And it had put a couple of hot chocolate, isn't
it We all feel that way.

Speaker 1 (28:09):
There's a little glasses. Looks like they were steaming off.
You're in the jungle, as hot as fuck, you're in
Costa Rica. It was very organic daring that, like you
think Gary's gonna put down a mug of cocoa even
of his ninety eight degrees out. That guy's fucking Santa Claus.
He's so cute.

Speaker 3 (28:28):
What I love about it is that is that the uh,
clearly the story editors all sat around the table as
they're trying to look at the footage and figure out
the stories and say, I think we got an angle
here with Gary eating and drinking slowly.

Speaker 1 (28:40):
Well then they kind of literally going on like a
magic carpet ride, tripping their fucking balls off, and it
whether they were faking it or not, it did feel
like they were tripping a little bit. Doug, you're a
resident drug expert.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
What do you think they were? It was like, I
think it's the kid too, when somebody goes to a
hypnotist show and they go up on stage and they
fell and do this and do that. I think playing
along with uh, you know the scenario, like the way
Gary's just like, oh, I think I feel some tingling,

(29:16):
you know, like come on, like it's just he's just wanting.
It's like anytime somebody does something drug adjacent, but they
really want it to be like it's getting right, a
sort of roll with the idea that it's working with
because it's embarrassing to go, oh, this thing that I
thought I'd get high off of didn't do ship.

Speaker 1 (29:33):
He did say at our age, I want to have
an adventure still, Like I I like the talks of
the Golden like, you know, they're like, I'm not dumb yet,
like I want to I want I want surprises, I
want to go on adventures. I I I find the
narrative of the Goldens like fun to watch Bill.

Speaker 3 (29:53):
Yeah, I mean, look that's that was the success of
The Golden Bachelor and Golden Bachelor Arett and they're I mean,
I've never seen this many bad younger guys on a
season of the show. So it's the only ever had.
It's the only place to go, It's the only place
to go for any kind of you know, sincerity is
the Goldens And like that.

Speaker 1 (30:14):
Wait, none of the guys are hitting on the younger women.
It's only the older women hitting on the younger guys.
The older they're not being creeps towards the younger women,
which I know, which we all feared they would they're not.

Speaker 3 (30:25):
Yeah, you know, it was a tough realization for me
was as I watched sometimes like well, you know, if
I was single, like would I ever go in The Bachelor?
And I realize now that if I did go on,
I'd be a golden Okay, wait, you would have women
climbing all over well, I don't know, but just the
thought of that was very sobering.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
I wonder if people are also like twenty three and
you're like, what would you talk about with Leah?

Speaker 2 (30:52):
You know what?

Speaker 3 (30:52):
I mean, that's true, that's true, But I.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
Mean what like the what do you talk about? Thing?
That was like, well, there's a whole world of the
whole everything that's happening right now you talk about like
there's there's so much to talk about. You don't really
need to talk you know, reach back to things in
the past. It's plenty to talk about right now.

Speaker 1 (31:15):
Yeah, I mean I agree with you. I think, uh,
you know, I do think that. I yeah, I'm enjoying
it and I think that I think that did they kiss?
Did Gary kiss? Did they kiss? No? Gary? Has he
kissed anyone. Did he kiss he kissed Leslie?

Speaker 3 (31:34):
I don't did he kiss Leslie?

Speaker 2 (31:36):
I think they kissed. I don't think he's I think
I noticed that if he was just going on really
Chase Gates like he's really he's getting a little bit
after it. I think he kissed the first two, but
but more passionately, more of it with Lesslie than with
h what's her name? Francesca?

Speaker 3 (31:54):
Francesca, what's her name?

Speaker 6 (31:57):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (31:58):
Like that.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
Natasha was really in the get Like was it a
little sad with Natasha for me? That that Gary was
like kind of just came back, you know it just
sort of would just talk to whichever woman was talking
to him, Like he's just he's just sitting and receiving
and not really sticking himself out there.

Speaker 1 (32:18):
Well, why don't we take a quick break and we'll
come back and there's so much more to talk about, guys,
and we're back. Okay, let's talk about it. Davil.

Speaker 3 (32:41):
Now.

Speaker 1 (32:42):
At the beginning of the episode, Kat goes, are you
still open to going on dates? He's just so indirect,
but he says.

Speaker 4 (32:51):
Something like different every time, Like am I imagining that
that he says like something different to her?

Speaker 1 (32:57):
Every time. Ladies, if you feel like your guy is
fucking with you, you're not crazy. He is like, He's like, yeah,
I mean I don't know. Like it does show you
just it's better just to be upfront if you want
to keep dating, say yes, I'm open, and just be

(33:19):
upfront about it, like this indirect connection, lying to her,
saying to her, no, it's just you, it's just you.
So then so then there's a rose ceremony. She gives
him the rose, and a new gal comes in. They
do this Bird of Paradise yas. Her name is Alicia.
She was on briefly. She's Miss California. She looks quite

(33:41):
a bit like Kat Dale and she are dressed identically
and in their little birds of a Feather thing. They
start talking and flirting. He's like asking me, ask me yes,
I'm open, And then he goes like a fool on
Mike and we'll next segment talk about Jeremy on Mike.
I'm like. He goes and says, I hopefully she'd ask

(34:03):
me on the date, just because I want to see
if it gets a rise out of Cat. And then
Jonathan goes and tells Kat and he totally denies it
Jeremy covers for him, but like they do have it
on camera. He said that I think it sucks.

Speaker 2 (34:23):
I think he said I want to make I want
to see her sweat.

Speaker 1 (34:26):
Yeah, that's what he said.

Speaker 2 (34:27):
It's and then this is a telephone game of these things.
Then the rest of the show, they kept saying I
want to get it. She kept saying, did you say
you want to get a rise out of me? And
then he can say no, I did not say that,
because he said I want to what So technically he's
not lying when he says that to her, because it
did get twisted in translations.

Speaker 3 (34:48):
Such a good liar. He fooled you too, because he
actually does say that afterwards, because because what's his name
doesn't understand some guy didn't understand.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
What he's saying.

Speaker 3 (34:56):
And then he said and then he said, oh, yeah,
you know, I want to get a rise out of
her or something like why would you want that?

Speaker 1 (35:02):
It's also like, because you know she's prone to being fiery,
and I feel like she's really trying not to be,
So why do you want to anger somebody who's actually
trying to connect with you and trying to like put
their best foot forward, maybe put their old ways behind them.
Why poke the bear if somebody's clearly trying to do
it differently. It's so unkind And I feel.

Speaker 4 (35:24):
Like she's been consistent and like, I like you you're
the only one, Like yeah, and he though, like, I'm
not imagining it right, Like she'll be like He'll be
like one second, he's like, oh, you're the only one
here that I'm interested in, and then like literally ten
minutes later, it's like, well, I'm open to other people though,
And it's like, what, Like, you're fucking with her so hard?

Speaker 1 (35:46):
These guys he.

Speaker 2 (35:48):
Knows there's women that, like he's seen on previous seasons
that might be coming onto the beach. So he's just
trying to just stay on the beach. He's just taking
advantage at that's all he's doing.

Speaker 3 (35:58):
He'd be wrong. I think maybe he's doing that because
this is just a theory he's a self serving narcissist.
I think maybe that's potentially potentially crazy conspiracies. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
not to prove so mean.

Speaker 2 (36:15):
Yeah, it's just really strange that he did. He because
he also seems like the kind of guy who would
want a good reputation with the viewers of the show.
He's a villainy, you.

Speaker 1 (36:26):
Know, Nick Fayel. Nick Fayel had he played Paradise so
well because people he got sort of he was sort
of because of after Andy season and the Caitlyn season,
and when he went on Paradise he was able to
go on and rehabilitate his image and be like the
good guy. Then he became then even enough so that
even on after that he got to then go be

(36:47):
the bachelor, like he had four go rounds. I think
part of it was an audition of like, you know what,
I'm a good guy like.

Speaker 3 (36:56):
But Dale didn't have a bad off screen, a bad
on screen, but now he's making it so he didn't
know he like like Kat's cat was burned, Cat put
the work in awesome for her. Dale didn't have that.
So now we're seeing his true color. So the first
time I want to.

Speaker 1 (37:11):
Give a show this therapist is whoever her therapist is,
it's working. Doug.

Speaker 2 (37:16):
Oh, just a flashback to when Dale ended up in
Claire's room when he wasn't supposed to be there, and
his covert story was I was just looking for my room.
The record II are already in that case, we didn't
mind it because it was like, you know, cute that
he did. He and Claire ruining the whole show by

(37:36):
getting together immediately.

Speaker 3 (37:38):
It was a kid crazy in love. He couldn't help.
But we loved him for it.

Speaker 1 (37:41):
We love it. You know what she was doing that
kind of didn't She was like, oh my god, my god,
my husband, My god, my god, my husband. Like there
was no that free train of lorniness. It was so
locked and loaded.

Speaker 3 (37:56):
Has anyone pointed out he looks like the fine young
Cannibal's guy. Am I like that person?

Speaker 2 (38:00):
Yes? It does.

Speaker 1 (38:01):
He does. Also going on a date we have Leah
has asked Jonathan because she is one of the only
the open guys. Now I can't remember who Leyah mean
girled on Joey sees it. She started off sweet, she
got that she got the envelope. Somehow she mingirled somebody,
which she does later in the episode to cap but

(38:23):
I felt for her during her date. He asked her
a question and she was speaking authentically from the heart.
You know, I'm looking for this all like, but she's
but she was answering from an authentic place. They're sitting
down on the ground having a little coconut milk drink,
picnic from real coconuts, not once, not twice, three times

(38:46):
after it's been called out, he starts spitting when she answers,
not listening, and he would just say stuff like oh yeah,
uh huh, I can see that, like not even remote
checked out. He knows to ask a question he could have.
The only time he perked up was she when she
was like, that's attractive to me, and he said he

(39:07):
I'm attractive.

Speaker 3 (39:08):
There was the.

Speaker 1 (39:12):
I really liked him. I really liked him on Jen season.
I thought he was a sweetheart. This was so his
manners were so bad on this date.

Speaker 2 (39:22):
It was so.

Speaker 1 (39:24):
Like you only have to keep it together for like
fifty minutes.

Speaker 3 (39:27):
It's like, it's great. It's great to see, though, isn't
it great to see when a guy he spits it out,
she notices it. He says, I'm sorry, there's this stuff
in the drink. I'm so sorry, and then he keeps
drinking it. He who makes that mistake.

Speaker 2 (39:43):
He doesn't do the full time. He's right there, like
he can't even just set it down for a little
bit of just for a minute.

Speaker 1 (39:50):
It's scary in the coco, but it's filled with nuts.

Speaker 2 (39:53):
Like, Katie, what did you think.

Speaker 1 (39:56):
Of the date?

Speaker 4 (39:58):
I he just like, I don't know, Like I thought
I liked him on Gen season, but like now seeing
him like this and thinking back on I'm like, yeah,
that's what he was like.

Speaker 1 (40:06):
He just never connected.

Speaker 5 (40:07):
He never like asked questions. He's just lame, Like he didn't.

Speaker 1 (40:12):
Want to eat the doughnut on the car because it
was I guess I could have a carb cheat date
on the date on Jen's date.

Speaker 4 (40:19):
I think it's just telling that he is good looking
and all these women are initially like very drawn to him,
and then as soon as they spend time with it
and they're like, never mind. And I think that's really telling.

Speaker 1 (40:32):
Never mind. I'd rather have one of the other terrible guys.
Like it felt like we're also terrible and not even
his handsome, but we'll take them. Doug, what did you
think of the date? In the coconut spit?

Speaker 2 (40:44):
It was, you know, he just didn't acknowledge that he
It just be so easy to stop doing that, yes,
you know, like because also, how enjoyable is that drink anyway?
If there's a big chunk coming into your mouth.

Speaker 1 (40:58):
Brutal? Brutal? Okay, so then we have so he was
so rude. He's like, she's said, what do you like
about me? And then he's like, well, I like that
you're raves at sunshine. Before you even said a word,
She's like, oh like and I thought, oh, man, these

(41:21):
poor cutie pies are used to such crumbs, like anything
nice and this. Oh, I don't know. I don't know, Katie.

Speaker 5 (41:31):
I want all these women to run away.

Speaker 4 (41:33):
I just want them to leave the beach like Jill
died and go get something better because all these men
are not treating them right. And I looked on Reddit
and I on reddit or saying the same thing.

Speaker 5 (41:42):
They're all like, they're being absolute dirt bags.

Speaker 1 (41:46):
I also just want to let me at least give
me an amuse boush of the young guys. Give me
a little bit of Spencer and Jess let's see three minutes. Yeah,
I would like.

Speaker 5 (41:54):
That because it would be a nice palette cleanser. And
you're like, oh, look, somebody's respecting a woman.

Speaker 3 (41:58):
Well.

Speaker 1 (42:00):
He seems sweet. He seems like they like each other.
They seem like they're having fun. She's she's rehabilitated, like
how she behaved like. They both seem like they're having
a good time, like, let's see a little bit of that.
So then Faith decides to rehabilitate Nancy Kathy's fear of horses,
and she kept going, I can't hear you. I do

(42:21):
you think that's the editor?

Speaker 2 (42:23):
I think so, because it even sounded like there was.
It wasn't a change in how she said it really
like like, no, it's pretty funny, like I think one
time she go like, hey, I hear you, you know,
like change up, you know what she emphasizes, but still
very funny as almost every time, like they gilded it,
they went one too many when they were.

Speaker 1 (42:43):
Going to I appreciate. I like somebody that a bunch
of many and I like it. Yeah, And she'd I'm
afraid of horses as well. So I was proud of
I was proud of Kathy.

Speaker 2 (42:55):
Bill.

Speaker 1 (42:56):
What did you think of the date?

Speaker 3 (42:59):
I maybe this was wrong with me, but I was
hoping that something would happen between them.

Speaker 1 (43:05):
I kind of was too. And I also felt like
where are the guys, Like they need more guys. They
should have brought in guys.

Speaker 3 (43:16):
I said that to Molly, like every time someone was
showing up, I said, they got to bring another guy in.
I mean that is that is seemingly something they've introduced
this year that they didn't have before, where there's this
on one episode. There's so many of the ones that
aren't picking and like they go down like flies like
that in one episode.

Speaker 1 (43:35):
There must be a shorter season. But I feel like,
particularly the Goldens, I'm like, and then when we have
Kim going to the hospital for harp palpitations, it's like,
oh man, yeah. So then we have the Bird of
Paradise dance, and so the guys got dressed up like
birds of Paradise and they had to do like a
mating call and then whatever woman they had to that

(43:56):
wanted it would do it. And then Thomas no, not Thomas,
Andrew and uh, Andrew and Alex are pretty cute. Oh
by the way, thank you. One of the viewers d
m Anna and said that, uh, we didn't know this,
but apparently Alex went on TikTok be as we were saying,
how about how she was talking last week that's felt

(44:18):
high energy, and apparently she went on TikTok Alex did
and said she has ADHD and they wouldn't let her
bring her medicine, which seems really fucked up. Why wouldn't
you Why wouldn't you let her bring her medicine?

Speaker 5 (44:29):
Yeah, it's like it's a prescription let her ring in.

Speaker 1 (44:32):
What the fuck are you doing? Yeah, so our apologies
for not knowing that.

Speaker 4 (44:37):
And I can't feel terrible about her like that, like
she must like like that's you know, why she was
getting like so distracted by ship Like that sucks.

Speaker 3 (44:46):
That's that's uns It confirms everyone fear about about producers
and reality.

Speaker 5 (44:54):
We want you to know an edge.

Speaker 3 (44:56):
What other medicine do you have that we're not going
to let you bring?

Speaker 2 (44:59):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (44:59):
Well that so then this storyline comes out, we'll talk
about Jill, and Sean comes out and he only dances
at April. Ugh, that was tough.

Speaker 3 (45:12):
This is why I don't think he's he's like the
great guy that people were saying.

Speaker 1 (45:16):
I mean, I don't think he's a great guy. I
forgot about you know what, I take it back, I
forgot about this. I thought that was unkind. He didn't
even look at Jill.

Speaker 3 (45:23):
Nope, was unkind.

Speaker 2 (45:27):
Yeah. I think he just was you know, stringing, you know,
just hanging out with Jill as long as he needed to.
And then you know, as soon as there's some other
bird that he could dance on. Uh, you know, he
was ready.

Speaker 1 (45:42):
Well, how about the fact that that Jonathan went on
a date with Leah and there was just like zero, like,
no one is interested in Jonathan after hanging out with him.

Speaker 3 (45:55):
Yeah, it's amazing. It's amazing that that's been done with
this guy.

Speaker 1 (46:00):
Never never seen it coming, because he was handsome and
kind of seemed like the hot commodity.

Speaker 3 (46:05):
Yeah, and and and and nice, you know, seemed unassuming
in the last go round.

Speaker 1 (46:12):
So then I think, let's talk about Jill and then
we'll come back and talk about Jeremy and Bailey and.

Speaker 2 (46:19):
Uh and all that.

Speaker 1 (46:21):
So the poor, the poor poor Jill. I felt for her.
It was really I loved her. She was like, we
both know we're not going to end up together. I'm
just sick of it. I don't I'm not always going
to be the only one left. I'm losing my sparkle Yah,

(46:42):
I don't, And then no one is here for me.
I'm going to do you a huge solid and leave.
I've been third uh like so many times and I
want out of here. I'm sick of seeing all the
other couples and not being part of one. I'm such
a catch. I don't want to be the funny friend anymore,

(47:06):
and I don't want people to understand me. I would
be much more desired somewhere else.

Speaker 3 (47:11):
Are you reading from your book or from friend? I know.

Speaker 1 (47:15):
As a person who was the funny friend, it feels
really bad. And it's very clear that that when you're
the funny friend is very clear. It is not it's
not in your mind. It is very obvious, and it
feels bad.

Speaker 3 (47:30):
What's really interesting about this is that she's the really
good looking version of that. Like if you were casting
a movie called The Funny Friend, Yeah, and you cast
Jennifer Anderson as the funny Friend, Yes, it's kind of
like she's beautiful, Like what the hell is the problem? Guys?

Speaker 1 (47:46):
You know?

Speaker 3 (47:46):
And it's just crazy.

Speaker 1 (47:48):
I think they're not used to anybody with any major
giant personality who has any going out, you know, any
goofyness at all.

Speaker 2 (47:57):
Is like it's just a different you know, have seen
previous seasons and like she hasn't done a good job
of you know, uh, not that it's on her entirely,
because it was shitty men that were making her cry,
but she was upset all the time, so she doesn't
come down the beach and guys go, oh, this girl
that's gonna cry, you know, things happening, like, you know,

(48:19):
she just doesn't. Even though she's also fun to be around,
so on into how fun she is to be around,
but then also realize that she's also not there to
be have her emotions toyed with, right, you know, Like, so, Katie, what.

Speaker 1 (48:35):
Did you think?

Speaker 4 (48:37):
I just think, you know, she is she's like too
smart for the show, and she does have like a
lot of personality, and I think she probably also like
challenges the men in a way that they're not used.

Speaker 1 (48:47):
To, you know, Like what did you mean by that?

Speaker 3 (48:50):
What did that you said that? Like, like, you know,
I think how I feel right now? Yeah, it's like
how I feel right now with you guys. I'm so
I can't so challenging is so great.

Speaker 1 (49:02):
I think that she also lives in Rhode Island. Doesn't
she do like Haunted? Does she like Haunted? Does she
work at like a grave thing? I think she does. Okay,
let's take a quick break. I'm going to come back.
We're talking about Jeremy and Bailey and Susie and Brian
and Parsa.

Speaker 3 (49:23):
Oh my god, this just a lot.

Speaker 1 (49:27):
Oh my god. No they did not, No, they did not.

Speaker 3 (49:37):
Oh yes they did.

Speaker 1 (49:43):
And we're back. Okay, which one do you wanna? Let's
talk about Brian and Prisa first and end up with
Jeremy and Bailey. Okay, So Brian and Prisa win the
Flop Birds of a Feather contest. Overall the contest, you
found it really scary. What did you guys think of
the dance contest?

Speaker 6 (49:59):
Hmmm?

Speaker 2 (50:03):
Pulled out the red carpet for men to be shitty,
Like there's no opportunity for a woman to screw over
a man in that whole scenario the way you know, So,
I don't know it was and some of the some
of the burden outfits and how much they got into
it were a little scary.

Speaker 3 (50:21):
Yeah, it felt like performance art that just you didn't
want to see. Like they probably sit around and try
to come with ideas and they painting and weird, and
then you actually watch it and it's just so uncomfortable
and it doesn't work and it's such a fail.

Speaker 2 (50:36):
Yeah, kind of like a cult was starting.

Speaker 1 (50:40):
You know, I can see if you're like a Bachelor
producer and you it's almost like throwing a party every
week and your budget gets cut. You still have to
throw the party, but people are hungover from the last
party for now this party promoter, and you're like, people
liked white Lotus like people like that of an extra,

(51:01):
you know, crazy wild this. They even played the music
like that, and you're like, okay, I mean I forgot
about the girls being sexy.

Speaker 3 (51:13):
It was uncomfortable. I feel uncomfortable enough in my real life.

Speaker 1 (51:16):
I don't I'm not on a makeup artist. I think
who did all the makeup? People looked good, the women
look good.

Speaker 3 (51:22):
I was just like, you know, my wife, said my
lovely wife, Molly. She she pointed out that Jill, like
Jill's dealing with enough the new one Alicia, she had
those extra like like eyebrows put in the exact right place,
but Jill put hers on like three inches too.

Speaker 1 (51:41):
Man. They did her dirty.

Speaker 3 (51:42):
They artists did that. It's like they're they're trying to
fuck with her.

Speaker 1 (51:47):
They're trying to fuck with her that poor like and
they're like, no, no, you look good in this. We've
all had that. You're like, I don't think I do
or like no, you don't. This haircutt like, I.

Speaker 3 (51:56):
Don't think I like you put one of the eyebrows
higher than the other her. It's like like this. Uh.

Speaker 2 (52:04):
And Gary missed the entire bird party and he would
have been the most uh you know he would if
he came back from drinking cocoa and he asked birds
who knows?

Speaker 1 (52:17):
I think it's gonna win. Who do you think Gary
is gonna pick I think he's gonna pick Leslie.

Speaker 2 (52:23):
What you mean in this current?

Speaker 1 (52:25):
Yeah? When rose? Right now? So do you think Leslie?

Speaker 2 (52:30):
I think he's just I think he's just nice to
all of them, But when when push comes to shove,
he's gonna pick Leslie. Okay, you know unless unless you
know what's his nuts is going to have a rose
and nobody to give it to, so he may beat
her him to it and offer his rose to Leslie. No,
well then what's the name.

Speaker 1 (52:51):
Of the guy. Yeah, the other guy doesn't want Kathy.
His friends are.

Speaker 2 (52:57):
Yeah, Keith. Keith could just throw throw it sideways, because
that happened this season where you know, somebody threw somebody
arose when they you know, they beat somebody to it, Like, oh,
what's her name?

Speaker 1 (53:07):
Isasha, Natasha still Carrie, Natasha is still Gary, the hottest
commodity on the beach.

Speaker 2 (53:13):
Yeah, that's a weird angle. That's happening. Is the old
ambushing by the order of the you know, production sets
it up so somebody could get yes.

Speaker 3 (53:24):
Which is a very love Island. It's a very love
Island thing.

Speaker 2 (53:26):
Yes, lots of shows Brian and Parisa.

Speaker 1 (53:31):
When the BP vip Sweet for the Night. Now, they've
made it clear that they've already been intimate. So I
think this is the new boom boom room that they
kind of forced you to go into before this. They
were Yeah, they said, they said we've been intimate. They said,
we've been intimate.

Speaker 3 (53:49):
So weird because she was so Pria seems so intent
on having it seem like it was just going to
be a getting to know you kind of thing.

Speaker 5 (53:59):
I was so confused by that too.

Speaker 1 (54:00):
I was like, Okay, that is my take on it.
I feel like she actually wanted like love and affection.
I think she wanted to get to know him a
little bit, to have like a little romance and not
just to be.

Speaker 2 (54:15):
A chat and not that you wanted a whole night
of talking. Yeah, I think she wanted to getting to
know each other.

Speaker 3 (54:26):
Favorite color is Yeah.

Speaker 1 (54:29):
I think she wanted to talk to him a little
bit before. I think he just like wanted to like
bang her all over the suite, not talk to her
at all. And I think she was maybe a little
nervous and wanted to like talk to him a little
bit and feel a little bit wined and dined a
little bit Woode, feel a little bit pursued, and he

(54:51):
was just like, take those feathers off, let's go, and
like he was such a dig about it.

Speaker 3 (54:57):
You know what's amazing is it throughout the episode this
to be the guy who's actually the paragon of virtue,
who is gonna who doesn't agree with what the other
guys are doing, and yet yet here he is like
basically saying, let me put some tape over your mouth
and we can enjoy this this sweet Yeah, I don't
want to.

Speaker 2 (55:13):
Talk to you.

Speaker 1 (55:14):
I don't want to talk to you. I don't want
to know you at all. Like I'm not even gonna
humor you and your bullshit. I'm gonna be a brat
about it.

Speaker 3 (55:21):
I'm not answering that.

Speaker 1 (55:22):
Take off your fucking feathers, get upstairs. I felt I
felt like in the morning, she looked like she looked
like she disassociated, you know what I mean. It looked
like in order to get through that night, like it
was great, like like he wasn't romantic. I think she
thought that they were gonna kind of maybe fall in

(55:44):
love and have and be physical but also chat like
all of it. And yeah, there was no wooing. It
was like, well, I've already gotten it, so let's just
do it everywhere. And I felt her I felt like
it's not a given. It's not like it's like she
doesn't know the guy that well. I think she probably
was a little privacy and a little feeling like he

(56:04):
actually liked to me that would make me feel like
I could just be anyone.

Speaker 4 (56:10):
Yeah, and it's time, sorry, it's a time for them
to get to know each other without cameras, Like she
mentioned that multiple people.

Speaker 1 (56:15):
You can have both or you get to talk a
little bit and then you know and then like be physical.

Speaker 2 (56:21):
Doug, No, I just you know, I just say, he
just uh. It just seems like it was like a
kind of a scenario where like on a second date
where you had sex on the first date, for both
of you are going to have certain expectations, and in
her case, it was let's get to know each other better.
In his case, it was like, hey, we get this,

(56:42):
we get this thing where we get to be off
camera and go at it, so let's do it.

Speaker 1 (56:47):
So I'm like, like somebody who slept together too early,
like or not maybe not, but like but like she
wants like the long term boyfriend husband, She wants the engagement.
She want to really like her because she's sort of
fun and silly, and he's like, I like her body.
I just want to bang on her, which is just

(57:08):
two different things.

Speaker 4 (57:09):
Bill.

Speaker 3 (57:10):
I was just going to say, like, do you think
in this atmosphere or political atmosphere we're in that really
obviously bad behavior. We kind and that's what we do
on the show, so we have to do it, but
we kind of analyze it and sort of make even
tiny like try to figure out why is a guy
doing what he's doing or why people do when so
many guys on this show are just flat out being

(57:34):
freaking horrible. This bottom line horrible. It's like there's no
parsing it there. He's horrible. Dale's been horrible.

Speaker 1 (57:41):
I agree with you there. I feel like there's a
meanness and a like lack of complete lack of empathy
in a manner that we haven't seen this level before
from all these guys.

Speaker 3 (57:53):
Because we're so worried about stepping on toes, like we
have to like and not just us as people in general,
are people watching the show, we have to be like, well, this.

Speaker 4 (58:00):
Is this And they've been't really mean to the The
women have actually like been pretty sweet and cool and
I feel like they're trying to like make it okay
and a lot of these guys are not at.

Speaker 1 (58:16):
All being nice.

Speaker 3 (58:18):
No, it's really clear cut.

Speaker 1 (58:20):
But you know, well, I'll be curious and I don't
know if he'll say it on air, but I'll be
curious to hear what he thinks about yeah, goodbye, Like,
you know, he loves his wife and he like, I
think he was in a different era of this, you know,
and he's watching it all.

Speaker 3 (58:37):
I think a smidgeen of this bad behavior on some
of the other shows would have blown up a lot bigger.
It seems like these guys are getting away with murder
and it's like it's just crazy to me.

Speaker 2 (58:47):
Doug, Well, I mean, I think it's fairly consistent with
the series as it's always been that there's just going
to be shitty people doing shitty you know, behaviors. But
in this case, I have a theory that they've added
this new wrinkle where they're going to give couples that
look like they're long term couples, they're going to pay them, uh,

(59:11):
And so I feel like that is a way to
guarantee so they don't have another season where they all
just walk away and nothing happened, or there's a couple
obvious you know people that will just break up once
they get outside.

Speaker 1 (59:22):
But I wonder if the choices you can either stay
together or get the money, Like I can't like money.

Speaker 2 (59:31):
Yeah, these couples are going to get paid for seeming
like they're very committed to each other. That was fine,
basically like they probably will break up six months down
the road. But the show gets like, well, we got
all these couples together.

Speaker 1 (59:45):
Oh man. And by the way, that's a lot of
It's not a small amount of money.

Speaker 2 (59:48):
It's a reason to be feedful with your the person
you're with and pretend you're into it when you might
not be money.

Speaker 1 (59:57):
Okay, So then we also have Jeremy on a talking
to Brian going is your bike? Are you miked? But
then they got it and he's like, I wish I did.
Like he's like, I don't want to go to the
fantasy suite with Bailey. She's a nice girl, but I
fucked up. I can't say something about Susie. Jokingly, he's like,

(01:00:20):
I would propose to Susie right now if I could.
First of all, Susie shot him down. You tried and
she said no, And poor Bailey the edit of Bailey
being like, I'm in love, I would say it. We
haven't said it yet, but I would. I would leave
here a age. And he's like, I don't want to
go to the suite with her. I wish it was Susie.

Speaker 5 (01:00:41):
I suck or Bailey he sucks.

Speaker 4 (01:00:43):
He's never really mean, it's just straight up mean.

Speaker 5 (01:00:48):
They're just being really rude and disrespectful.

Speaker 1 (01:00:51):
And Gas let her go about going on the date
with Sean, who asked her on the date that he
made her cry, remember he was He was like, I
picked you Andrew? Is that his name? Oh? Yeah, yeah?
They got the coffee coff.

Speaker 3 (01:01:09):
Andrew.

Speaker 2 (01:01:10):
Andrew moved on to somebody else quickly, to alex Well,
like like.

Speaker 1 (01:01:16):
He played her. She was crying because you know, how
betraying she was, like, he doesn't even.

Speaker 3 (01:01:24):
Like her, by the way, did we Does he really
think that if he whispers in a slightly more quiet tone,
the MIC's not gonna mic that's pin to his chest
isn't going to pick it up? Is it really? Does
he really think that?

Speaker 2 (01:01:36):
Brutal?

Speaker 1 (01:01:37):
Unbelievable, brutal? What do you think of him? Doug Benson?

Speaker 2 (01:01:43):
Uh, he's just, you know, he's unfortunately, he's got the
same problem that a lot of people have, is just
hes fomo about who what could potentially happen? And he
blew up. You know, he didn't act quickly enough with
Susie because I think he does sort of like Bailey.
But like when you give a guy an opportunity to,
you know, go after both of these women at the

(01:02:04):
same time, he was trying to take advantage of it,
and in the process he's you know, probably gonna lose
both of them, you know, and he's gonna go back
to the gym and talk to some other guys about,
you know, all the shit that bitches do.

Speaker 1 (01:02:19):
And then the final the final date is Alisi yet
Sean where they had to do all the senses and
like feed each other and put the honey and the
chocolate and the kissing and the feathers and the ice.
He gives good date. He's a good enough sport. And
then she's like then she comes back and all the

(01:02:39):
women are like talking about Cat. They all hate Cat.
Why she hasn't done anything to them?

Speaker 2 (01:02:47):
Well, they probably came into it knowing how what her
attitude was like in previous seasons at least you know,
the edit of the previous season. But then so they
probably probably didn't like her much. But then also like
she's I think she's coming off much better this season,
but it's mostly because of Dale being so horrible. She's
still got like kind of this you know, feels kind

(01:03:08):
of hoity toyy about things in a in a way
that you know. But also so these women are all, uh,
they're all there to just just you know, fight for
men and and uh in their back.

Speaker 1 (01:03:22):
She gets most improved again for when Alicia pulls her
aside and she's like cray seeking asked, and she's like, well,
like Sean and Dale, oh yeah, like oh that was
just sit into her face and she kept she was
playing with her finger but she kept her poised, but

(01:03:42):
we could see.

Speaker 3 (01:03:43):
It was.

Speaker 2 (01:03:45):
But Dale, you'll have a nice date with Dale, like
she was, you know, being very.

Speaker 3 (01:03:49):
Like she said, he's sweet.

Speaker 1 (01:03:51):
She did her best.

Speaker 3 (01:03:53):
She did her best, but her best was still kind
of funny, like the look on her face what she
said in Dale and she was like oh yeah yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:04:00):
I was like, I was just like, why would you
say this to her face?

Speaker 3 (01:04:03):
And that?

Speaker 4 (01:04:03):
But then also like I guess it's it's also like
what Dale has been saying to Alicia, like we like
being like, oh no, no, she gets it. We had
to talk like we're open, Like I mean, it's like he's.

Speaker 5 (01:04:16):
Situation is insane.

Speaker 1 (01:04:19):
The whole situation is insane. Okay, before we take a
quick break and we come back and we do review
of the week and post of the week, what who
do you think aside from Spencer and Jess, I need
you guys to pick one old and one young engaged couple.

Speaker 2 (01:04:41):
M M.

Speaker 1 (01:04:44):
You can think about it on our break. All right,
I'm gonna say I'm gonna start out with who I think.

(01:05:04):
I do think Justin Spencer are gonna get engaged. I
hope they do. I think they're very cute. Together. I
actually hope they fall in love, and I hope it's
a love connection. I'm gonna go with Gary and Leslie.
I'm gonna go with Gary and Leslie. And I feel
like he's a warm guy. I think he's a soulful guy.

Speaker 2 (01:05:29):
It's just on how much how badly the other women react.
Because Leslie's already like not liking being a way thing
going on, and so with the other women start to
get visibly upset, Leslie might tap out with Gary.

Speaker 1 (01:05:45):
Okay, all right, that may if she can kind of,
if she can take a breath. I think Gary and
Leslie and for the youngins aside from Spencer and Jess,
Andrew and Alex.

Speaker 2 (01:06:03):
Yeah, there's not a lot of great options here.

Speaker 3 (01:06:05):
I would only option.

Speaker 2 (01:06:07):
Say the same thing to the two that you just
said are and those are the ones. Those are my
picks too.

Speaker 4 (01:06:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:06:15):
My only concern is that Andrew seems to like airtime.

Speaker 2 (01:06:20):
But mmm, he could he could step out if some
other girl comes on the beach that he was hoping
would be there.

Speaker 1 (01:06:28):
Yeah, and she's I like that. I mean, I think
Alex is like a fun little cutie pie. You know,
do you guys have any other people that you think
might get engaged.

Speaker 3 (01:06:40):
I'll be slightly contrariant just to make it interesting, but
only slightly because one of the people the same. I
will go with Gary still, but I think that maybe
Leslie cannonballs herself a little bit on these shows. So
I think I'm gonna go Gary Nancy.

Speaker 1 (01:06:58):
That's fun, all right. I actually like Gary and anybody
I feel like, I like Gary so much.

Speaker 2 (01:07:05):
He is I want to get that money.

Speaker 1 (01:07:09):
Oh, I actually wanted to get the money. And I
want him to also do it, like I want his
heart to be full, like I want him to have
a partner. Yeah, and I want to understand why people
aren't going for Keith. It's very I think he's a
lovable dude, but like you know what, you know, Gary

(01:07:29):
has curiosity. Gary asked questions.

Speaker 3 (01:07:32):
Yeah, I mean Keith. I mean this in the best
possible way. He's you're right, he's a little bit of
a slob the odd Couple Jack Klugman character. And I
don't know if these women want that, You're right.

Speaker 1 (01:07:48):
Gary has Gary feels like he'd be in his man
cave like Gary is actually like really tuned into the women,
asking questions, checking in looking in the eyes, asking about
their soul. He's taking interest. Perhaps women had a lifetime
of dudes I checked out, you know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (01:08:07):
Yeah, I think he's a good guy. I think his
hearts under my place. But I don't think he knows
how to really try to talk to a woman, or
you know, listen or listen to a woman more.

Speaker 1 (01:08:15):
Accurately underestimate listening to a woman.

Speaker 2 (01:08:17):
Guys, people, person in general. I bet you strikes up
conversations with everybody so cute.

Speaker 1 (01:08:25):
I love Gary, Gary's is a surprise here, and then
Andrew and Alex, Like you said, there's no other choices
in the other ones none?

Speaker 2 (01:08:33):
Yeah, those very likely to fall apart by the end
of it. How many more weeks are there?

Speaker 1 (01:08:39):
Like six?

Speaker 2 (01:08:41):
Said, they're like day nine, Like, how many days is this?

Speaker 1 (01:08:45):
They only do they have less episodes of this than.

Speaker 2 (01:08:47):
They have with well long one too, there was like two,
a three hour one and then two.

my skin. Yes, And then I appreciate the day count,

(01:11:54):
so we know that these people are acting this way
after only nine days, you know what. That's fucking crazy
that it's nine days.

Speaker 3 (01:12:02):
This does she like say I appreciated the beginning like
she has.

Speaker 5 (01:12:06):
Her Yeah, she did.

Speaker 1 (01:12:08):
It's from Maya get in bookshelf by Maya. She's in
a photo not Dale, giving Mila Jovovich in the fifth Element.
And then she said she put this photo up of
like Dale and the Dale rag.

Speaker 3 (01:12:23):
That's perfect.

Speaker 1 (01:12:25):
Yeah, I mean, yeah, that's funny to me. And then
we also have uh, okay, there's so many that are
like This is from Samantha June. If Brian thinks being
asked his favorite color is too childish, just wait un
till he learns Priest's hobbies include playing chubby Bunny and

(01:12:46):
creating ants sanctuaries. Man, yeah, I think he will be
shocked to have a girl with an actual personality. Okay, okay,
here's one from KP. Kim. I'm not sure how Dale
ended up with the mid nineties Riba McIntyre Featherwig, but
I'm not mad about it, and yeah, those are our

(01:13:11):
those are our our posts for the wig. Which one
spoke to you. I like the visual of should we
do Dale Wig? Should we do Mila Jovovich? Uh, Riba McIntyre.

Speaker 3 (01:13:24):
Yeah, funny, I was he looked a little bit like Eliza.

Speaker 1 (01:13:29):
But you know, okay, okay, okay, So we're gonna do
Kim loves Chits. So we're either going I'm not sure
how Dale ended up with the mid nineties rebid McIntire Featherwig,
but I'm not mad about it or uh My Gittlman
at uh not Dale giving Mila Jovivic in the Fifth Element,
Mila Joviovic or Riba McIntyre or Doug Benson Neil Kuntler.

Speaker 3 (01:13:54):
Yeah, I like always agree with Doug Mila Jovivic.

Speaker 1 (01:13:57):
I also agree with drug Mike Gilman. You in Katie Money,
Which do you like? Yeah? That one? Okay? Some sleep
Crown Doug. Where so where can people find you? They

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
