Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey guys, Sophia Bush here. So I've been thinking about
a lot of things, and I realized that everyone looks
at everyone else's life and thinks, well, they've got it
all figured out, and that they're the one missing something. Well,
I'm great. Wait, you don't need to anser why am
I on this show? I don't know. I'm done. I'm done.

(00:23):
I'm done, and that they're the one missing something, when
in reality, we should all feel permission to celebrate what
good we've done so far. Broad City it's one of
the best shows on TV. It's so freaking funny, so smart,
so sincere, so real, so vulnerable. I love that you
own that you deserve to and we're not encouraged to
do that and recognize that being a work in progress

(00:45):
is not a bad thing. I feel like my entire
life is kind of a work in progress, you know.
For me, I think I am a work in progress
when it comes to getting older. So we all walk
into the oval and I just remember looking around sound thinking, wow,
we are all imposts on this podcast. I'm going to

(01:06):
have frank, funny, personal, professional, and sometimes even political. I
know you're shocked conversations with people who inspire me about
how they've gotten to where they are and where they
think they're still going. People like Gloria Steinhum, Katie Curic,
Ja Shetty, Chelsea Handler, Jon Favreaux, Alana Glazer, Cecil Richards,

(01:29):
Coramo Brown, Shannon Watt's, Whitney Cummings, and so many more.
What we see becomes what we want to be. And
so I was very fortunate that one of the most
powerful role models in my life, well Monks, I dialed
before one one. I asked for Langley, Virginia, which is
the fictitious place where CIA headquarters exists, and an old

(01:49):
man picked up the phone and he said hello, And
I said hello, Is this the CIA? And he said
who are you calling for, sir? And I said, is
this the CIA? And he said, sir, who are you
calling for? And I got chills in that moment, realizing
that indeed I was talking to the CIA, and of
course they wouldn't tell me it was the CIA. The

(02:11):
more truthful and the more real we get, the more grounded.
You know, when people talk about spiritual awakenings or spirituality,
I think of that language and I think about being grounded.
Then you are in control of everything in your life.
When you're calm and relaxed, then you control everything. At
the end of the interview, he just looks at me
and he goes, well, I don't think I need to
speech traitor, he goes, But Gibbs tells me I did.

(02:34):
Gibbs tells me, I do, And you seem nice enough.
So let's give this a world. And that was it.
Let's give this a world. Let's give it a whirl. There,
there's there's your buzz line. Though. It's pretty good, so
