Speaker 1 (00:01):
We're on episode seventy nine of the wrestle Chat podcast.
Thank you guys for being here. My name is the
ant Man, also known as my Lucha Libre. Name is
Vine Americano Michael Lavinder. I'm not sure what you're luchre.
I don't think you're a Grandi Americana, are you?
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Uh No? Mine is cheezy gordida crunch.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
Oh I love that it is right, Yes, I love it,
but it only comes out late at night during fifth
meal or fourth what fourth meal? Fifth?
Speaker 2 (00:37):
The other eleven zees.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
She's a cheesy cordido crunch. Yes, I'm excited. WrestleMania only
a couple of weeks away, and I was like, what
is it that I'm missing from truly being ready for WrestleMania.
And then it's like, oh, yeah, it came in today. Yes, yeah,
official WrestleMania teacher. So I saw this one, I was like, oh,
(01:02):
I like that one. I bought it, and then I
saw some other ones pop up and I was like, oh,
I like those, and so I was like, I don't
want to buy this one. Well, it couldn't guarantee to
be here before WrestleMania. And what was funny though? Too is.
After that, I was like, now I'm not gonna buy
it because if it's not gonna be here before I
can get it afterwards anyway, And this T shirt is
gone now oh no, yeah, limited edition.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
So I'm sitting here thinking you didn't tell me you
ordered a cool shirt. Now I feel like I'm on
a shirt and now you're telling me I can't get
the shirt.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
You can't get shirts, you can get other shirts. It
was like two. It's kind of the distressed ones. They
always kind of unique ones for the show that doesn't
have the official logo on it. It's always the different
alternate logos or whatever.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
One is slick though.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
There's actually there's another one that's similar to this that
I really like up there as well.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
As I'm gonna go check it, check it out.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
I'm gonna find it before this. Actually, really, I have
an affiliate link. You want to put twenty cents in
our pocket, hit the affiliate link to buy your wrestle
Media T shirt. I have one of those, just never
posted it. I don't know why. All right, You don't
want to hear us talk about merchandise WrestleMania T shirts.
(02:16):
You want to talk about what happened over the past week,
and Lord of Mercy, I don't know we have enough
time to hit everything. That's why I reduced the Cody
and Sena promo down to about four minutes. I got
twenty two minutes down to four minutes. I will say
that the first six minutes no one said anything, so
that was easy to chop off. We're going to get
to that come out up here in just a little bit.
The first one I want to hit, though, is the favor.
(02:40):
We heard a little bit about the Favor on SmackDown
on Friday. Should we jump into the video and listen
to what was said and then come back and talk
about it. You want to do that?
Speaker 4 (02:49):
Yep, I know what you're looking for, and it's in there.
You're closing the show at Ratzel. You get to live
your dream of all dreams.
Speaker 5 (03:12):
C M Punk.
Speaker 6 (03:14):
You are a Retszell Mania mainidner.
Speaker 5 (03:25):
There's only one person you should be thanking.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
You should be thanking your tribal chief.
Speaker 5 (03:29):
Because of me, You're in the main event.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
So please take this moment.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
Let's close the show with a big thank you and
an acknowledgments of your tribal chief.
Speaker 5 (03:37):
Go ahead, now do it. Right the right way.
Speaker 7 (03:41):
Thank you, my tribal chief, the holder of the ulafalla,
the head of the table, the big gun. Thank you
for allowing a kid from Chicago to be graced by
your presence.
Speaker 5 (03:58):
Thank you, my tribal chief, for allowing me to stand
in your ring.
Speaker 7 (04:04):
And thank you so much.
Speaker 5 (04:06):
Thank you Roman Reign so very much. But because of.
Speaker 7 (04:09):
You, I will see you in the main event of WrestleMania.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
But that's not the favor that I'm owed. Oh my gosh,
what didn't you I mean, you assumed when you heard
the first half of that that, okay, there it is.
That's the favor. He gets to main event WrestleMania. Did
you expect the ending? Kind of sort of? No, it
(04:41):
was so late and you even see that they put
up the creds. I thought, oh, they're never going to
finish this promo. It's going to go off the air
because it is on USA, right, and they had a
little time to edit. I thought, well, maybe maybe they edited.
They put that up, and maybe they edited it and
get we get to see everything. And I actually had
stopped it before then, and I was like, like, I wonder
if there's anything left. And I went back and watched
(05:03):
it again and let it go all the way through
to the very end, and that's what I missed. And man,
am I so glad that I went back and watched
all of it. Holy cow, that's not the favor. There's
still a favor land out there for seeing Punk from
the Wise Man. Care to speculate, Michael and what you
think that favor is now that we know that he's
main eventing?
Speaker 4 (05:24):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (05:25):
Yeah, I mean.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
You would think that Punk would want to do something
substantial I get into some title situation or something like that.
But the thing that keeps kind of coming to me
is what poll does Paul Hayman have in storyline?
Speaker 2 (05:44):
You know? I mean, he's Paul Hayman, He's a legend,
Hall of Famer.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
But you know, in the current landscape, just as the
Wise Man, what poll does he have just to randomly
put Punk in a match that he's not even affiliated with, you.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
Know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
So I want to think title, But then I'm like, Okay,
but does that make sense story wise? And they have
been doing a good job about making the stories make sense. Okay,
So if it's not that, what's really left, well, there's
match placement. I could see, you know, the Wise Man
abdicating for that. But wait, that's not the favor.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
So you don't get any higher. You're at the main event.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Yeah, so I don't. I don't know. Do you have
any thoughts?
Speaker 1 (06:31):
Well, I like you. I thought, well, okay, then maybe
it's some kind of title picture, which you're right, what
poll would tell that's not in his that's not his thing.
He's not the title maker decider, right, that should be
a title if you were, if you're looking to throw
that up on job listings, the title maker decider title,
(06:51):
it could be a new could be new listing it
at WWE dot common careers for a while.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
Gaging how that helps you.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
Maybe that's the favorite four one k. You're gonna four
oh one k match me? That's it?
Speaker 2 (07:05):
Independent contractors anymore.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
That's right, get healthcare, that'd be awesome the I could.
Speaker 8 (07:15):
With.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
I mean, if if he walks a if when see
him Punk walks out at WrestleMania and the Wise Man
and Paul Hayman is behind beside him, what difference does
that make in the match? What does that what does
that give him?
Speaker 4 (07:35):
That?
Speaker 1 (07:35):
I mean, yes, theoretically he's the the the whisperer you
know of he's the wise man, always in Roman Reign's
ear giving him wise advice. Is is that what Seeing
Punk needs. It's not a mouthpiece. He doesn't need a mouthpiece.
He doesn't need someone talking for him. And see him
Punk's arguably in the top three. Ever, I don't know
(08:00):
something I don't know. There's some speculations we've had when
when I posted on TikTok and Reels with that video
and they really kind of were left as dumbfounded as
we are right now. Well, then, what else could this be?
It's got to be massive for him to bring it
up after getting the main event at WrestleMania forty one
(08:23):
for him to he could have just said, yeah, that
was it, because the favor is not really any bigger
than that. Know, it's something bigger than that. This is
what's fun about it. This is what's fun about WrestleMania season. Yep,
that's right, here's good stuff. Well, if you have a
speculation and you're watching right now on YouTube, throw what
you think it might be there in the comments and
(08:45):
let us know. We'll talk about it next week here
on the show or before then on a TikToker reels.
You can find a wrestle chat podcast. Okay, let's move
over to I know what you're here, the promo class.
The promo class. Betwe between two of the best, Cody
Rhodes and John Cena. Now I mentioned twenty two minute
(09:08):
promo back and forth between these two guys, lots of
shots taken. I'm gonna trim it down to a little
over four minutes. Let's listen here and then comment afterwards.
Here we go.
Speaker 9 (09:19):
We've listened to you talk for two weeks. Allow me,
John Cena.
Speaker 5 (09:23):
To do your job for you.
Speaker 9 (09:27):
Right, You're gonna You're gonna cook me.
Speaker 5 (09:29):
I've seen this discourse.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
You're gonna end me.
Speaker 5 (09:32):
Where do you want to start?
Speaker 9 (09:34):
Okay, for starters, I have a little bit of a list,
sometimes words with a letter s. I'll give you one stodash.
Speaker 6 (09:45):
I'm not gonna cook you. I'm gonna bury you, just
like I buried if everyone else. They've been saying for
years that John Cena bear 's talent. I don't bury talent.
I am talent. I bury mediocrity. I don't give a
(10:10):
rat's ass about your lisp. Do you have manipulated your
way to the top of this business? And your ego
outmatches your ability. I have been so great that the
WWE can hand the heartbeat.
Speaker 5 (10:26):
Of this organization to my chauffeur.
Speaker 6 (10:29):
There's your why, Cody Rhodes, Because.
Speaker 5 (10:33):
You with that disgusts me.
Speaker 6 (10:37):
I tried to trail it into your egotistical skull. You
have to be authentic because they can see through phony.
You didn't listen, and it shows you have showed me
one thing, and the one thing you have showed me
is someone mediocre wearing something meaningful nowadays is enough to
(10:58):
trick these people.
Speaker 5 (11:00):
So after WrestleMania, it'll be great for you.
Speaker 6 (11:03):
Go straight to fanatics, buy the toy belt that they buy,
call yourself their champion because the last real champion is
taking that home forever and exposing you for.
Speaker 5 (11:15):
Who you are. An errand boy that got lucky.
Speaker 9 (11:19):
Maybe you're right, maybe I was chosen, But you know
who chose me?
Speaker 1 (11:26):
They chose me?
Speaker 9 (11:27):
Can you say the same, John Cena? Or was it
one guy in an office who chose you who's not
here anymore.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
And we don't talk about it?
Speaker 5 (11:35):
Oh yeah, let's go ahead.
Speaker 9 (11:37):
Strip everything away from me, right?
Speaker 5 (11:40):
I don't know who I am? Who the hell knows
who they are.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
I know this.
Speaker 5 (11:44):
I'm Cody Rhodes.
Speaker 9 (11:45):
I'm a wrestler like my father before me. And if
anybody is a company creation, it's you, John Cena, and
not me.
Speaker 5 (11:54):
Everyone's so terrified of you on the mic.
Speaker 9 (11:57):
I'm not because I know you've got more taking that
promo than you do in your George Thank you, John,
What a softball you've thrown me by saying you created
all of this.
Speaker 5 (12:09):
You created me. Here's what you created, pal.
Speaker 9 (12:12):
You created a lot of disenfranchised fans who made it
easy for me to pack up and go elsewhere and say, hey,
look at me. Don't act like you cleaned up your
room before you left.
Speaker 1 (12:24):
And went to Hollywood.
Speaker 9 (12:25):
John, don't act like you left WWE better then you
found it.
Speaker 5 (12:29):
And while we're at it, there are two.
Speaker 9 (12:32):
Of us standing in this ring right now, and what
I'm about to ask you might punch a giant hole
in all that logic that you just threw up. And
it's quite simple between you and I which.
Speaker 5 (12:45):
One of us sold out to the rock.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
John.
Speaker 9 (12:48):
You are still You're still my hero, but you're also
a piece of shit.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
I have never left.
Speaker 6 (12:58):
I have all been here because no matter how high
the hill is to climb. No matter what garbage they
give me, I find a way to make it great.
Speaker 5 (13:10):
You had to leave.
Speaker 6 (13:12):
You had to leave because you realize that your best.
You can't wipe my ass. I make empires for billionaires.
All you've ever done is steal money from their kids.
John John John, No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Speaker 9 (13:31):
Hey, I just want to remind you, and all the
time that I have been here and everything I've been through,
never once has an audience, never once have.
Speaker 5 (13:41):
They chanted at me. You can't wrestle.
Speaker 1 (13:47):
There you go. Now, first, let me ask you here.
Let me just get a little bit, steal a little bit.
See some of that, see some of that, all of that,
all of it pushed together, still get chilled editing it
down to four minutes. Anything that I chopped out that
you thought was just absolutely pertinent that we say from
(14:08):
here at the top line.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
I think you got the highlights.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
I mean, I unfortunately, I don't think you cut that much,
like in terms of core content, like I think it
was mostly there. You know, by the time you leave
room for soaking in the crowd and dramatic pauses and
all whatever. I mean, it soaks up a lot of time.
But but no, that.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
Was the meat of it.
Speaker 3 (14:31):
And wow, just I don't want to dive in and
just you know, just skim the surface at first.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
Then we'll kind of dive in as we go.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
But just two absolute masters, masters of what they do.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
Yes, I agree, I agree, and not that I expected
anything less of Cody Roads, But it wasn't what I
if you had asked me before, if they go in
there guns blazing, who walks out? And I'm not sure
(15:13):
that I would have picked Cody right just for the
fact of youth. I haven't seen him cook anyone or
burry anyone like I have seen John Cena step up
to the Rock Rock Prime scene at Prime calls out
real stuff, stuff written on the Rock's wrists. This was
(15:37):
the time for Cody to sink or swim, not the
match at WrestleMania forty one. We know that he can wrestle,
and as a matter of fact, we know that we
have chanted. You can't wrestle to John Cena. So I'll say,
when it comes to wrestling, wasn't worried about that. I'm
not worried about the match on that Sunday night main eventing.
He's going to deliver. He always does. He did when
(15:57):
he was Stardust. He's always delivered when it comes to wrestling.
I thought he's been good at promos. I've never thought
that he was great until Monday afternoon afternoon because it
was in London. I did hear. I'll put this up
real quick, because I did ask who won this? This
(16:19):
is what fans thought? Sixty two percent said Cody, thirty
eight percent, Sena. The one that I left out was
us because I actually think that that's who won out
of all of this is just getting to see the
expert meet the champ. Yeah, and both. Of course, there
(16:40):
was no question would John Cena deliver? It was would
Cody deliver in an instance like this? And I would
say he more than delivered. What do you got?
Speaker 3 (16:50):
Yeah, So diving into it a little deeper, I agree,
I didn't expect that out of Cody. I think some
of it, if I'm breaking the fourth wall, I think
some of it had to do with probably the office
allowing him to come off of super babyface a little bit,
not that the language constitutes that, but also just kind
(17:11):
of that aggressive verbal attack approach, like normally you don't
see that as much and like the real squeaky clean babyfaces.
Speaker 2 (17:20):
It was.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
It was cool to see this transform to instead of
a character versus a character, more of.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
A man versus a man.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
Yeah, and I think that was a big shift for
this week, as it felt after that promo had just
felt so much more real.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
Cody did great.
Speaker 3 (17:41):
I'm gonna be honest with you, I still think Sena
edged out Cody.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
Here's why.
Speaker 3 (17:49):
I don't think Sena had the impactful like end of
phrase zingers like Cody did. But John Cena was able
to continuously just.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
Cook, cook, cook, just.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
Burn burn burn, and Cody's was more of like I'm
gonna build and then payoff Zinger and I just felt
that like the stuff that even though Cody had some
great moments, I still think overall the combination of John
his vocabulary, his experience, but then him playing this kind
(18:30):
of what it is is it's rustling thanos is really
what it is. Because he's this good guy character or
excuse me, bad guy character with almost this pseudo good mission,
but does it in a not good way. You know,
it's very captivating because he slips in and out of
(18:53):
will like, oh well, he has a good point with
that ah, he's a piece of bleep. Like you know,
he just slips right in and out of that and
it just makes it so so good. So I do
think that Sena edged him out, but I do mean edge, just.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
Slight edge, not Adam Copeland. I will invite you to
go back and watch the full thing with responses from crowds,
because there was something you just you just brought up
that that I picked up on Daring the Full the
full segment, and that was how the crowd responded to
John Cena saying that he was going to take that
(19:36):
title off of Cody. It was like it was like
just I'm not sure it was the whole audience. It
was a It could have been a vocal minority, right,
It could have been just the Sena fans that cheered
and they just happened to be really, really loud. But
it was an at least in this battle between the two,
an unexpected segment cheering for John Cena. Now I will
(19:58):
say that I lean the I only the opposite way, which
that's what I love about this. We can give both
sides of this, and the reason I do that is
because Cody was after the initial launch, which he was
trying to disarm John Cena with Hey, I'm going to
make fun of my list, i want to make fun
of my tattoo. I'm gonna make fun of you know,
star dust and my old character and what have you.
(20:20):
But the rest of the time he was responding was
he was giving back and responding to what John Cena
had to say. I have a feeling that there was
there was a big portion of that just from other
conversations I've heard about John Cena that they may not
have had prior to them walking to the ring. So
(20:41):
if some of that was you say what you want
to say, I'll respond to you the way that I'm
going to respond. You respond to me the way that
you're going to respond. And if that truly was that,
it makes it even more meaningful for me that Cody
Rhodes did that, because I'm the guy who in the
moment will go okay, I'll think through it, and then
thirty minutes after it's over with, I go, you know
(21:03):
what I was just thinking about? I would have said this,
and to be able to do.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
That in the moment, and just best singers are always
a half hour later.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
Maybe maybe a day later. In some instances, the best,
best ones, but right in the moment and on the spot,
and it truly felt organic, It truly felt original, truly
felt like we're just going to dig into places that
we may have thought about at some point, not fleshed
out and not maybe some things that we've heard from
(21:32):
other people, even went to the IWC. John Cena touched
on the Internet Wrestling community and some of that. You
say that I bury other people. I'm going to bury
you right now. Since I bury so many people, why
not you, Cody Rhotes. I think this is going to
be one of those that we will talk about five years,
(21:54):
ten years, fifteen, twenty years down the line. Remember that
promo between John Cena and Cody Rhoades just two weeks
before WrestleMania forty one. Kids, this is how you do promos,
and you set him down and you show him this
just fantastic all the way around.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
I would kind of up the ante, and I would
say that even though even though John's got a little
age on him for wrestling not for life, obviously.
Speaker 1 (22:24):
Were the same age. So I hope, hope you don't.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
Well better be going Yeah, no, I really think the
match is going to be absolute fire.
Speaker 2 (22:38):
I really do. I think.
Speaker 3 (22:40):
I think John has kept himself in really good shape.
Obviously he's dropped like a lot of muscle mass on
purpose here and some.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
A little bit of hair, But I really think that
he'll going into it.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
He's going to be training, He's going to be able
to pull out all the stops and make sure that
that match is good. But then the great thing is
Cody is obviously in his absolute prime, and if which
I don't think there is, if John does have some
type of shortfall, Cody's the perfect dance partner to be
in there with to help take care of him. But
(23:17):
I really think, and man, people out there may may
throw tomatoes at me for this, but I kind of
have this feeling that this match is going to be
something we look back to, similar to how we look
at like Sean Michael's undertaker, you know, back back that year.
There's something this is a passing of the torch moment
(23:42):
because people people get confused that passing of torches have
to be between two full time people where the older
guys handing it to the younger guy, but we're both
still here.
Speaker 2 (23:53):
No, it's not that at all.
Speaker 3 (23:56):
You you have guys, you know's been there for a while.
You know, Romans had those moments, and I think we
started to see that with Cody actually going back to
SummerSlam against Brock. I think Brock giving Cody as flowers
in the ring like that was kind of this process
(24:17):
of saying, hey, you are the company guy now, even
setting him up for after Roman. I mean, look, how
much since Russell Maania forty one that the overall look
of the company, the way they promote things, has shifted
more toward Cody.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
Yeah, and you mean since Wreusselemania forty going in for
this forty one.
Speaker 3 (24:38):
Oh yes, I'm sorry, rust May forty mak sure won
the title. Yeah, and uh, and I think that this
is now officially handing him that so called you know,
flaming torch, that that is placing him that, you know
as yeah, the new John Cena as the squeaky clean
(24:59):
baby face guy for the next five to ten years.
Speaker 1 (25:02):
And say this too, passing of the torch can also
mean Cody losing the title. The title can go to
John Cena and still pass the torch to Cody Rows
absolutely absolutely dependent on each other.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
You know, this is to build on what you just said.
It's about the story. It's about these two guys doing this.
These are not two guys that you would ever put
together in any other situation. This is beyond the main event.
This I mean, this is this is a match that
dreams are made of. I mean, this is the Undertaker
(25:35):
Sting match we didn't get. I mean, if you really
think about it, two major players in the main event
of WrestleMania, and so you know, one guy who we didn't,
who we swore up and down two months ago, was
gonna go out being.
Speaker 2 (25:54):
The squeaky clean guy.
Speaker 1 (25:56):
That's right, and.
Speaker 3 (25:57):
That subtle shift has created a match that otherwise in
the rest of history backwards or future forward, would never
have happened.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
And so I think this match is just going to
be absolutely huge.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
And is it going to be Flippy mcflippy or anything
like that. No, It's going to be a classic wrestling
match that relies on telling a story with the sprinkles
of athleticism, which is the way it should be.
Speaker 1 (26:30):
That was almost your Luca name, wasn't it Flippy mcflippy?
Speaker 8 (26:33):
Huh?
Speaker 1 (26:34):
Yes, what I find I'll see if you think the
same on this. But I'm completely fine, and I didn't
I wondered about this, But I'm completely fine if I
don't see them in the ring together until WrestleMania forty one.
Speaker 2 (26:47):
Yeah, I'd be fine with that.
Speaker 1 (26:48):
I don't need them in the wrestling in the ring again,
talking having any more physicality, nothing that was good. I'm
I'm ready to go for two weeks. That'll hold me over.
Speaker 2 (26:57):
This will probably never happen.
Speaker 3 (27:01):
But there's one thing I've wanted to see this whole time,
after John Cena's turn. I've wanted him to do a
promo via satellite so bad because it calls back to
multiple things. It goes back to him in the Rock
and the way he he you know, did that to
(27:23):
the Rock, but then it aligns with the current story
because he's currently aligned with the Rock.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
That's true.
Speaker 8 (27:28):
Yeah, but then maybe, but then furthermore, it continues that
he'll turn because it's something that he now does as
a bad guy that he.
Speaker 2 (27:41):
Dogged on other people for doing.
Speaker 3 (27:44):
But then it also accomplishes keeping things moving without them
being in the ring.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
To your point, touched on a couple of things before
we wrap this up. One, I am now more in interested,
not less interested, and still not fully invested, but more interested.
Now in Gunther Jay, after Gunther just bloodying Jay's brother,
Jimmy usso and after Jay was you know, Zip tied
(28:14):
to the middle rope, couldn't get to his brother to help.
Fantastic work by all three of those guys on on Monday,
and really interesting not only to see blood, but to
see that much blood on raw use effectively, we won't
see that again for a good six months.
Speaker 2 (28:31):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (28:31):
If that you feel that you feel the same way you,
Is that bring you more about Is that? Does that
bring that back to an interest for you? That match anyway?
Speaker 3 (28:39):
Yes, Yeah, we do have some stake in it now,
which I really appreciate.
Speaker 1 (28:45):
He became personal overall.
Speaker 3 (28:48):
Really well done by everybody. Jimmy continues, Jimmy's never been
really pushed out in front of the pack. But he
doesn't get the credit he deserves for being a storyline.
Speaker 2 (29:02):
Workhorse like he is.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
He just he's able to be funny, He's able to
be you know, he he's able to go to the
USO penitentiary Jimmy. You know, he's able to be tag
team Jimmy, Like, kudos to him for for doing this.
But I have to mention one thing I know we're
running out of time. But thank god, somebody in the
(29:24):
back finally went, hey, maybe we should think about like
what could realistically be under the ring and not. Okay,
because for once in forever, I don't have to ask
the question why were there handcuffs under a wrestling ring?
Speaker 2 (29:44):
They were zip ties?
Speaker 1 (29:46):
Yeah they were. And I love this to your point.
It had logic.
Speaker 2 (29:54):
Okay, maybe I was looking away at a kid or something.
Speaker 1 (29:57):
Security guards pants and all them had them bro bro
well done, every security guard. I noticed that because I
saw I came in the same deal. I had to
jump out, came back in. He's zip tied. I'm like,
when did he get the zip ties? I rewind it
and I see that a couple of guards had zip
(30:19):
ties sticking out of their back pocket or their belt
or something. I'm like, oh, he got them from security guard.
And then he power bombed a security guard onto the
steps and then took the zip ties from him.
Speaker 3 (30:30):
All that to say, not having to explain a pair
of handcuffs is yeah, I'm very thankful for that.
Speaker 1 (30:34):
I agree. I agree. I see though, if you were
going to take a pair of handcuffs, they should have
come from a cop, not stuck underneath a ring in
a bag that makes no sense.
Speaker 3 (30:43):
Preferably like preferably one of those cops that they get
a lot now that looks like it's straight from like
a Spirit Halloween store.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
You still see like the creases in it from the
Plastic Package game.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
But yeah, he's been folded up. I need something just
like that though, between Trish and Tiffany. So we could
have that done in the next two weeks. That would
be great. I would appreciate that last thing. We'll leave
with you with here, I ask you on Instagram because
this is the time of year when when the song,
(31:19):
the official theme song starts for me become to become
really annoying. Yeah, you know, if it's called Fiend from
Travis Scott, that is the theme song for this year.
And you'll notice that anytime they show this strip in
Las Vegas, that song is playing. And not only do
they play it repetitively, the song is repetitive. So this
(31:39):
one's even worse than all the other ones. But you
look back on ones after you've had time to let
that song get out of your system. You don't just
hear you know. I woke up the other morning and
fiend was playing in my head. I'm like, this is awful.
I can't one. I don't really care for the song
too that it's the first thing I think of when
I wake up. I'm singing that. But you get to
(32:00):
that place where you're like, they did their job exactly.
If that's the goal, then yes, absolutely, But we look
back on some after we've had that time away from them,
go that one was really good for WrestleMania, wasn't it.
And so I ask you what yours were? First, I'll
go to Michael Waves seven says less than zero. That
(32:20):
was Mania thirty eight, Mania twenty eight, and Mania twenty three?
What was twenty eight? So let's see here. I got
a list of all of them. So WrestleMania twenty eight
was Invincible by a machine gun, Kelly, that was a
good one. That was actually one that I used in
that real WrestleMania twenty three was let's see here. Twenty
(32:42):
three was Ladies and Gentlemen by Saliva. I would have
to listen to that now. I would play them for you,
but then you know they'll take the video down because
there's so much copyright on that stuff. So go look
these up. Maybe I could put a link into in
the description here. If you're watching on YouTube, check those out.
We have e Neumo seventy one, WrestleMania twenty step Up
(33:04):
by Drowning Pool. All those ones in that time were
just bangers, such good songs, twenty two and twenty three
from Jesse Taylor what we just said. Twenty three was
Ladies and Gentlemen, and twenty two was big Time by
Peter Gabriel and I Dare You by Shine doown good ones?
There one I like this guy's handle Control plus R?
(33:29):
What is that is that? Reset? Refresh? No refresh? Does
it ever?
Speaker 2 (33:36):
Remember? I can look it out?
Speaker 1 (33:38):
Why my hard drive when I hit this in a
minute WrestleMania twenty best WrestleMania and best WrestleMania theme song.
That song was step up by Drowning Pool.
Speaker 2 (33:49):
Control plus R is refresh your web page?
Speaker 1 (33:52):
Okay, all right, good, I'm not gonna did lead anything
then hopefully trying that Ryan Wilson WrestleMania twenty six, twenty
seven and thirty one. WrestleMania twenty six was I Made
It by Kevin Rudolph. That one was a good one.
We also have what twenty seven written in the Stars,
(34:13):
Tiny Tempa and thirty one Rise by David Getta and
Skyler Gray. That was That's is that yours? Yep?
Speaker 2 (34:20):
Sure?
Speaker 3 (34:20):
Is that Mania particular? First of all, sometimes they pick
songs for promotional opportunities and not necessarily something really get
your blood pumping for WrestleMania. Yeah, And I thought the
pacing of that song. You know, obviously WWE has a
huge love of like heavier rock, and I'm right there
with it. I love that too. But when you have
(34:42):
like a theme song, you want something that you know, I'm.
Speaker 1 (34:44):
Excited, you know anthem?
Speaker 3 (34:46):
Yeah, Yeah, And and that song particular. Also just that
year was also just a really memorable year for me.
WrestleMania Why is just a lot of fun, great memories
tied to it, both in the show and out of
the show. And that was the year that seth Rollins
cashed in at main event at WrestleMania, so great. You know,
(35:10):
a lot of cool stuff happened on that card. That
was the first time we saw Ronda Rousey that night too,
in a DOUBLEWE ring. But all that to say, just
had a great pace to it, just seemed to fit,
and I really wasn't sick of it. By the time
WrestleMania season was over. Honestly, I've actually had it on
a playlist, you know, several times in the years since.
Speaker 2 (35:32):
So so yeah, that's that's one of my favorites.
Speaker 1 (35:35):
